On Lane Avenue. We'll be broadcasting live.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The best Buckeye coverage team will be there right on
Lane Avenue at the Ozone party right behind us of
course the river watch towers and the actual tailgate party
before the game. There'll be live music after the game.
It's the fabulous Thunderbirds that is going to be tremendous.
Hopefully it's a victory celebration and one of our partners
and your beverage of choice if you are headed to

(00:26):
the Ozone on Lane tomorrow is Garage Beer. And on
the Legacy Retirement Group dot com phone line from Garage Beer,
it's my friend Eric Torgerson. Eric, you're ready to talk
some beer?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Man, Hey to talk about beer.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
How are you, brother, good man?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
It's awesome. Yeah, we're fired up for this weekend. Got
a ton of stuff going on, so yeah, really looking
forward to it.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, let's talk. Well, first of all, let's talk about
Garage Beer. It's a Columbus based beer and you've been
there from the beginning. Talk about the brand. Talk about
the beer. I've had it. It's delicious, it's light, it's crisps, crisp.
Talk about Garage be here for a second.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
No yeah. I mean we like to say we take everything.
We don't take anything serious except for the beer. I
mean the beer work really hard on to be, to be,
to be what we want to be. It was birthed
out of a garage in essence, right, So that's the
name comes from post COVID. You know a lot of
a lot of guys getting together, not in bars, but
you know, garages and thoughts that was built and yeah,

(01:24):
just it was supposed to be kind of super local,
but you know, it really really has taken on. People
like the product and people like the idea. That's kind
of what we're about.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
You guys have blown up. I mean it's now available
I do believe in all fifty states.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Yes, yes, sir, that is some great partners just have
a lot of fun with it.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Absolutely, And it's I mean it's it's a light, very
drinkable beer. I think it's locale, you know, low ABV
but you skimp on that stuff, but you don't skimp
on taste.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It's absolutely delicious.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Yeah, yeah, we got a we have it. We do
about fifty to fifty with that and then the line
version so was awesome. So looking forward to more people
trying it and getting out and hanging out with us.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Eric Turguson from Garage Beer, this is the beverage of
choice if you headed down to the ozone party on
Lane Avenue tomorrow. What are the what what's the involvement
with the Kelsey brothers, because they are they own a
little bit of a stake in the company.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Oh? Yeah, I mean they're they're they're big time owners
with us there. They got, you know, gonna be any
opportunity to partner with the brand on the beer space
and just really fell in love with what we were
doing and wanted to get involved. And so they're active.
I mean with the time that they have, Jason especially,
you do a lot of badass commercials and you know

(02:38):
some things. So it's, uh, it's they're there. They spend
a great amount of time with us.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Any any Eric, any indication how many Garage Beers Travis
had after he proposed to Taylor.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I don't know, because he didn't season.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's tough.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
We gotta he's got to be in shape. That's right
back to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, he's probably off the he's probably off the sauce
for a few months.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I know, I know, we've had plenty, so it's uh,
it's good. Hopefully Jason had enough for him, so then
then we're all set.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Eric, good to talk to you, my friend, and I
assume I will see you tomorrow at the Ozone party.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
You'll be down there.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yeah, absolutelybaby flowing. I'm excited to uh get there for
this victory. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
If you are down there, make sure you take a
moment and get refreshed with a garage beer or to
Eric Torgerson, thanks for the time this morning, brother.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
We'll see you tomorrow. It all right, that's it's good stuff,
it really is.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
And they are going to be one of our tailgate
partners all season long at the Ozone on Lane Avenue.
Of course, that broadcast tomorrow starts at nine in the morning.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
And let's talk about the game now again.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Back to the Legacy Retirement Group dot Com bone line
former Ohio State defensive lineman Matt Fincis.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Matt, good morning, how are you, sir.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I'm doing great?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
How are you awesome? Man?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I want to talk about you've got to you've launched
the new app. I want to talk about that and
a minute. This is a really cool idea you guys
have come up with. We'll get We'll get there, and
we talk about this game tomorrow Ohio State, Texas, matt
and grabbing all the headlines. Of course, quarterbacks arch Manning
Heisman Trophy hopeful, Julian saying, maybe short on experience, long

(04:11):
on talent, Jeremiah Smith arguably one of the best players
in college football this season. And you, as a defensive lineman,
former defensive linemen are probably kind of used to this.
When you know all those guys get all the attention.
I think tomorrow is going to be about the defensive lines.
I think it's going to be a defensive game. What
do you think?

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Yeah, I mean, I think when you look at this
game on paper, there's so many similarities and it's just
so close. I mean, you know, go down the list
of like you mentioned, quarterbacks, offensive line, skill players, you know,
the receivers in the Texas secondary who they've got some
guys back to a great job of you know, trying
to contain Jeremiah Smith last year in the semi final game.

(04:54):
You know, we hit some big plays on them. You
know they're going to be coming in here ready to go. Coaches,
you know, you talk about young quarterbacks. You got two
of the best quarterback minded head coaches in the game
right now, and Ryan and Steve, and so I think
that this is going to be a game that really
comes down to, you know, a few big plays, just
like it did in the semi final game, a few

(05:14):
big plays in the fourth quarter, and who's going to
be able to make them? But yeah, defensive line, you know,
that's that's I think that one of the big questions.
You know, Texas has got some guys back that are
definitely game changers, and the big question is what does
Ohio State have that that they're going to put in there.
You've got guys that just you know, you got a
defensive line that really just you know, went to the NFL,
just big players in the NFL right now. You've got

(05:38):
some guys with some experience on the outside with Tata
and Cayden, but uh, you know a little bit of
a question mark, as it is with with some of
the other positions, is you know what the experience is.
And you know, I think that they're really solid guys.
Can they be game breakers? And like the guys ahead
of them were, so you know, a lot of a
lot of questions, but it's going to be a fun
one for sure.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
Matt Schematically, with Matt Patricia's the new DC, you want
to make arch Manning, who really as good as everyone
has talked about. We really don't know the answer to
that question. So Schematically is a defense. Do you want
to try to make him as uncomfortable as possible in
the pocket?

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah, I mean you want to try to give him
looks that he's not familiar with and hasn't seen and
try to confuse him a little bit because he doesn't
have that experience. I mean, yeah, he's got some game experience,
but but you know, not a ton. So you want
to give him some different looks and give him some
things that he hasn't seen. I think it's an advantage
right now for Matt Patricia and the Ohigh State defense

(06:34):
because there's not a ton of scouting film as opposed
to you know what Ohio State can look at defensively
with Texas. So I mean they don't know exactly what
Matt's going to throw in the field. And you know,
Matt's a guy who doesn't necessarily have a system or
a skime. And I say that, I mean he comes
very much from the Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick tree of
You know, he's going to coach to the to the

(06:56):
talent that he has, so he's going to maximize the
guys that he puts on the field and play to
their strength, as opposed to what you saw with the
Jim Knowles of this is my system, this is my set.
It's going to take you a couple of years to
learn it and to excel in it. Matt thos it
in a different way where he looks at what he's
got on as far as players and creates a defense
around them.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Matt thinks Formeral House State defensive lineman on the Legacy
Retirement Group dot Com phone line, Matt, how hard is
it for players to adjust to new coordinators? And you
got Brian Hartline on the offensive side of the ball.
You know, he'd been with the program, so that's probably
not a huge adjustment. But bringing a guy like Matt
Patricia with an NFL style NFL mind, how hard is
it for defensive players to make that adjustment from last year?

Speaker 4 (07:38):
You know, again, I think it's a little bit easier
when you have a guy like Matt as opposed to
a guy that's a system guy. Right, because it's it's
again Matt's going to come in and creat a system
that's going to let you excel as a player, as
opposed to here's my system, you've got to learn it.
And so I think it's going to be a little
bit of an easier transition than what we saw with

(07:59):
Knowles over you know, kind of that three year period
where he was here, so uh and with Brian, I
think you're going to see a lot of the same
things with a little bit more wrinkles. I mean, he's
going to put his own stamp and on own style
on this, but you know, make no mistake, he's learned
a lot from Ryan and from from Chip Kelly over
the past couple of years, and and you know he's
going to utilize that in his play calling and he's gonna,

(08:21):
you know, put his own spin on that. But he's
going to probably take a lot from those guys that
you flearn from.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Matt.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Vegas thinks this is going to be a little scoring
game too. In your total points forty seven forty eight
somewhere in there again, which we indicate a defensive battle.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Is that how you see it?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Maybe you know, maybe the special teams made the field
goal unit getting some action this this weekend.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Yeah, I mean I think it is. I mean you're
going to have two really good defenses. Yes, there's some
offensive firepower, but I think you know Texas historically, Ohio
State historically, you're talking about really solid defensive teams and
a lot of times in these big games they're not
you know, thirty five to thirty four games, you know
they're going to be very tight and they're going to
come down to a couple of big plays in the
fourth border. So again, yeah, you've got a lot of

(09:02):
season defensive guys coming back from Texas. Uh, you know,
defensive line like I have mentioned, maybe one of the
best linebackers in the country. Uh, you know, some secondary
guys that are coming back. And again the same for
Ohio State. You've got some corners who've got a lot
of playing experience. You know, Caleb Downs back. There is
is you know the field general and the defensive secondary

(09:22):
playing experience on the in the linebacker corps as well
with with Sonny and our Bell got a lot of
playing time last year as well. So I mean this
is good. I think it will come down to a
lot of defense and early in the season anyway. You
know a lot of a lot of games are low
scoring games with that are defense because it just takes
offenses a little bit longer to get their groove and
then to find their find their way and live fire Man.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
You have developed a new app where you can get
buck eye news and track the buck guys. It's called
behind the Oh, I think that's what you're calling. What
tell us about the app and what you can get
out of it?

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Yeah, I mean it's after we've created. We've created to
give people a little bit of a glimpse. I mean, yeah,
it's we're gonn Aggregate, and you're going to be able
to find all your news and all your highlights and
all those things that you can find on other social
media sites, but it's all going to be in one place.
So you know, as we tell people, you don't have
to go sifting through your Instagram and your TikTok, through
through your cat videos and your doodle videos to find stuff.

(10:15):
It's all going to be right there for you. But
it's also we've got you know, some nil possibilities with
this and opportunities for student athletes, and it's not just
you know, the major sports. You know, We've got currently
fifteen student athletes under contract across a lot of different sports,
to give people a little bit of a peak behind
the scenes of what these guys go through on a

(10:36):
daily basis, and you know, what it's like traveling, what
it's like training, what they just you know, what they're
doing with their teammates and their friends, you know, in
their daily lives. So we want to give these kids
an opportunity to show people kind of beyond the you know,
college sports has turned into so much transfer, portal, nil talk.
We've got to show people that these kids what they

(10:57):
go through and it's a dedication, it's a lifestyle. These
kids put a lot of it, a lot of theirselves
into their sports, and they also have a lot of
fun too. You know, right now, we've got Tory Vetter,
who's a Big ten gymnastics champion. They're over in Spain
training with the Spanish national team. You can you can
tune in and follow them and see how that's going
and and you know, and just what they're doing is
in their daily lives. To get them a little bit

(11:18):
of a peak. And it's free for fans. You can
just get on. There's no subscription fees, there's no paywalls.
You can get on and just kind of scroll and
see the content and find out what's there, and that
generates in IL for athletes, and so that's kind of
our tagline. It's free for fans, in IL for athletes,
and it's just a great opportunity to see kind of
behind the scenes of what these guys go through every day.
