Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's take a moment to the Legacy Retirement phone lines.
We go, Lega said retirement dot com phone lines. We go,
and we find Dan Snell. Dan is a political expert.
You can find him at the winsome Way dot com. Dan,
good to talk to you, as always interesting couple of days.
I would have not have guessed that Mom Donnie comes
(00:20):
to the White House and goes to the Oval Office.
Everybody's all smiles and happy. And then on the other
side of the coin, Marjorie Taylor Green and President Trump
aren't friends anymore.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
What the heck is going on?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, these are interesting times in Washington, d C. For sure.
There in the old days, we used to call that
flip flop. You know, nobody calls that uses that term
flip flop anymore. And Donald Trump is outstanding and always
being able to be somewhat of a teflon person that
can flip flop and still come out having his fans
(00:57):
loving him. But I think that, you know, two days later,
after they met in the in the Oval Office, Mom
Donnie goes on in National TV and says that Trump
is a fascist. So well, well, we'll see, we'll see
what happens to those but the MPG, the Marjorie Taylor
Green thing really surprised me the most. And because you know,
(01:17):
in my book The Win, some candidate I talked about
how to be a leader that inspires, and her words
and behavior oftentimes were device. If she even said, then hey,
I was part of the toxic environment. And then she
flipped and resigned and wow, what a week.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, very interesting. Would you characterize President Trump's behavior, and
at least what we saw, you know, on the cameras
with him and mom Donnie, would you characterize his behavior
as winsome? He sure seemed like he was. They were smiling,
they were making eye contact. I mean, there was body
language experts analyzing their meeting and she said they they
(01:53):
acted like you know, long lost friends.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, he definitely has the ability to be when some
people that say, when you meet him in person, he's
a lot different than how he presents himself sometimes to
the sure, to the media, or when he gives a speech.
And but we'll see how long that lasts. You know,
I think that it's, uh, it's a scenario with our
president that he sometimes goes one direction and then he decides, hmm,
(02:22):
maybe I'm gonna flip go the other direction. So it's
a it's it's you know, every week in Washington, DC
is like this week in your state at Ohio State
versus Michigan. It's Democrats versus Republican And every week we
have that kind of trash talking and predictions and what's
going to happen.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
It's a great analogy.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Speaking with Dan Snell, you can find him at the
winsome Way dot com.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
And so does does the feud with MTG and Trump?
Does that?
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Does that speak to some divisiveness inside the party? Does
that hurt his base at all?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Well, he's you know, there is a percentage. I saw
some recent statistics that his popularity within MEGA and the
Republican parties dropped by like twelve points. He's still strong.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the
whole MAGA movement. If you remember, I'm old enough to
remember the Tea Party and even before that, it was
(03:19):
called the Moral Majority back in the eighties eighties, and
those two groups came on, did some things, got some
things done, but then they faded and then hopefully for
the Republican Party, they'll take some of the good that
was part of the Maga movement, and then some of
the bad, which was the devite of this, and the
(03:40):
finger pointing and the name calling and the attacking that
just doesn't serve America, the place we call home. Doesn't
make it any better. And so we're always in a
process of change in America. We're still young, you know,
two hundred and fifty years as a country. Next year,
actually we're kind of still a baby and growing up
as a country. So we'll see what happens the next
(04:01):
few months. I think January and February will be as
think as we'll have a full year with President Trump
and the economy and the tariffs and a lot of
things will be judged starting in the first quarter of
next year.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, I think economy for a lot of folks is
where it begins and ends. Speaking with Dan Snell the
Winsomeway dot Com, Dan, you've run and held elected office
five times.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
You've managed campaigns.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
You know that in order to win campaigns it takes money,
amongst other things.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
And I just saw this a couple of days ago.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
The DNC has taken out a fifteen million dollar loan
as cash reserves are starting to run a little low
for them. Not unusual for political parties to take out loans,
but I think the timing is interesting. It's typically, you know,
maybe a month or two before an election, just to
kind of get your candidate or your issue or whatever
over a finish line and get some extra cash in there.
(04:52):
But we're a year away and they're taking out a
fifteen million dollar loan at this time. Meanwhile, I saw
Republicans have, you know, like ninety million in the bank.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
What's going on there?
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Yeah, I saw that, and I think they took it
out right before the November elections, probably tried to do
a final push for some of those governor races nyon
New Jersey, and I think that that was kind of
part of their push. They wanted to make sure that
they want one so that the big picture of what
happens in twenty twenty six, and beyond that, they send
(05:26):
Trump a message we you know, we all know the
Democratic Party can raise money. I mean, within one hundred
days of switching from Biden to Harris, he raised a
billion dollars versus Trump had like nine hundred and eighty million.
So they can raise money and it'll get exciting. Twenty
(05:46):
twenty six. I think we're probably going to start the
presidential campaign earlier than ever this time, and it will
be an interesting race.
