four hundred and fifty dollars in the mos as well
in stock you heard that, right blocks in stock here
and right now. So much to talk about all up

Bethel Road. I'm your host, Eric, and it seems like
it has been two months since we've been here. Well
it has been for Ed, but for d.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Yeah, Ed, good to see you.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Are you on there? Edgy guys? How are you to you?
You're on?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
We're gonna have to get any one of those ID
badges as my name is Ed, so when he shows up,
you don't.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Mention my name. Don't mention my name Edward Eddie big
ed it on your headset right there. It does. It does, Guys,
its right there, John, Guys who are the owners of
LAPD Farms, Range and training facility and are active in
law enforcement. But for one hour on Saturdays, we put
the other a group of firearm experts to discuss new
(01:21):
products in the market, training tips, and oftentimes political topics
surrounding the Second Amendment. Our commandment has always been to
bring you facts about our industry and help customers and listeners.
We're safe, responsible ownership of firearms. I want to give
a shout out. It's gonna be an odd shout out,
but I'm want to give a shout out. He's probably
not listening. I bet he is. I hope he is.
I'm going to give a shout out to our mailman
(01:43):
because every day he comes here and I say, man,
you're gonna listen to the show, And today when he
delivered that mail, he says, I'm going to listen today.
And he's a good mailman. He's good. Sometimes there's good,
sometimes there's not. He's a good one. So if you're
listening out there, give a little shout out to the
mailman today. Guy's joining me today in the lap these studios.
I got j is he calling in? I got JC
(02:05):
to my left, j C. Did you see and I
know you did. Did you see the Celtech sub two
ks we got in a couple of weeks ago. Now,
it's not just a sub two K, it's a nine
millimeter sub two K. And it's just not a nine
milimeter SEB two K. It's a nine meter sub two
K intecraly suppressed suppressed barrel from the manufacturer, and it's
(02:28):
out there for sale. That is that. Those are so neat, JC.
I think you and I each need one. I think
you start to talk to Laurie. I'll start to talk to.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Deb Okay, ye, can we can work that out.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
That's see, LORI won't let me buy it for myself,
but she'll let me buy you one because she likes you.
I'm thinking the same thing.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
But yeah, because Dev loves Jo.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
So this will this will work just perfectly perfect. Yeah.
But that is neat, and there is one here, guys,
if you're in the market for that, it is something
definitely take worth looking at. Big Ed to my right now,
big Ed, Ye, I know you have a little hard
time selling guns sometimes I know we've talked about your
your rock rivers and should you sell, and so I'm
gonna I'm gonna lead by example here because you say
(03:11):
on our studio desk today, I'm selling something that I
never thought I would part with. And it is something
that I carried in and out of this store in
the early years for the first four or five years
at night when I left every time. And it's a
Celtech p l R sixteen chambered in five five six.
It's typically a pistol configuration that this one was SBR
into a short bare rifle with the folding stock. Great guns,
(03:35):
jac I know you have one as well. I do.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Mine is not an SBR, but mine is the pistol.
And it's amazing how accurate you Let read what the
magazine said. It was as downing one hundred yards less
lesson inch groups that was getting with a pistol. I
was impressed. I bought it and it's great.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yep, and I still love it. I have too much, ed,
I have too much, and there's still stuff I want
to me. No, I'm telling you it's example. You should
be bringing in your things to sell so you can
get what you want. And i'd help you with that.
And guys, I would be remiss without saying, we have
Ella Ella back at this station pulling the levers. Yes,
(04:11):
about time. I'm always good to be back with her.
And then of course they're live studio audience. Yay, all right,
I got that out of the way. So today on
the show. Today, on the show, guys, you know what
they say, there are no kings, right, We've heard that
how many times in the last couple of weeks. No Kings,
(04:32):
no Kings. But at twelve twenty one's calling into the show,
mister Joe King from Black Wing. He's calling in to
talk about what's going on up there, some really neat
things coming up at Black Wing that you want to
take a listen to. At twelve thirty, my buddy Richie
calls in and he's calling in time to talk about
his new job and the rumor on the street, the
(04:53):
talk on the street. What I'm hearing is he saw
something that is coming out soon that he's going to
talk about. Now he can't really talk about it, but
he can talk about it.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
But we can talk about it, but just not talk
about it exactly, okay.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
And it's let me tell you after you hear it.
It's worth talking about, really it is. We'll be able
to talk about it then. I'm hoping at twelve thirty. Okay,
twelve thirty. Uh I mention it right, don't mention it the.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Word don't mention it. We'll talk about, but not mention it.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Guys, we got to think are sponsored us law Shield
a great sponsor of the show for a long time.
Now Jackson Negress windows the same Black Wing Shooting Center again,
we'll hear from Joe here. Shorley Rivers Edge Cutlery. You
know what those guys really make me mad? They have
I get their weekly flyers and now JC this is
this is kind of a neat when you always think
about Rivers at least I did about the pocket knife
(05:45):
or some cool knife, you know for the guys. But
they are just good sharpening and good sharpening. But they
also sell like kitchen knives and stuff like. That was
for the whole family where they have a sale going on.
I think it's just started and I'm going to butcher
the name Butcher but west Off Classic kitchen Knives. Yeah,
and they are really good sale and they're on right now.
(06:08):
I'm looking at my knife that I'm at home and
I'm thinking, man, what do I need to kind of
add to it? So if you're in the market for that,
Christmas Holidays are right around the corner. Yeah, definitely go
check them out. They're good people store. They're located in
Hilliard in the old Bobby Rayhall building. Yeah, so right
next to the Sida Valley. Yes. Oh and I forget
that street there. We can see it from two seventy
(06:30):
and stuff. Great beautiful. I'm jealousy of their places. Really,
have you been in there? You've never been in there?
I always need we need to we need to go
do a road show there because it's it's that neat.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
So last time I was in there, Bobby ray Hall
was testing an engine for uh really for an Yeah,
my ears have been the same.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Guys. If you've missed the show, you can always catch
the podcast, I says six ten WTV in dot com.
We're on iHeartRadio, iTunes, Spotify, speaker really any place you
get your podcast courses out there on Facebook where Ed
is talking to you, and on YouTube ask me questions, yes, yes, yes, guys.
A couple quick things before we get to some news,
kind of some housekeeping. One is and I know we've
(07:11):
talked about this before, but it's worth saying again. We
are selling the heck out of Burnus and the more
people try him and I don't know, I think we've
talked about it before. We have a setup now for
a couple of bucks. You can go over there, try
a couple of magazines full every Did you shoot it yet?
It I did? Okay, Everyone who shoots it is amazed
by it. It hits hard and people. The word is
(07:34):
getting out. We had gentlemen come in last week he
had brought bought three previously, some for gifts. Came back
in last week bought three more. The words getting out,
so definitely, if it's something you've been considering, come check
it out and fire it for yourself. I think you'll
be sold on it.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
It's an incredible just watch it. There's so many videos
on it now being used on place who volunteer. Actually
one of our employees he's volunteered and had a crater
in his back. I think for a couple of weeks.
I mean, it's it's amazing. It's an amazing.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Less than lethal legal everywhere.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
No paper.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
I mean, you can just come in and buy it
like you're buying apples. I mean, it's it's great.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
We sell apples there, but if you if we did
se comparing apples.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, yeah, this is kind of an apple st orangers thing. Yeah,
that's an apple to burn.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Things, right, guys. One thing before we get into the news,
Black Friday, and that Black Friday starts Tuesday here, all right,
And the reason it does is we were fortunate. You know,
everyone knows that the block Gen fives and before are
going away. They're gone. We can't get them anymore more
(08:43):
of the larger ones, not the slim line, not the
forty threes, forty eight. They're still available, but they're gone.
I mean, there's nothing to order anymore. We were able
to secure a batch of them. I think we got
forty some in some Gen fives, nineteens, and we got
it the coveted right. How some mos is now the
(09:03):
prices are a little bit higher than they were previously,
but they're not horrible. Some of the mos has actually
come with optics already on. But listen to this for
Black Friday, guys again, starts Tuesday. If you come in.
You know we've been historically we give away free guns
at Black on Black Friday with the membership purchase right,
and also in addition to that, sometimes we give away
a free gun. Sometimes we say with the membership, you
(09:26):
can add a couple hundred bucks and get something that's
a little bit upgraded. Well, an entire list of blocks
are going to be on that list this year. Now
they're not for free, but I mean it just for example,
I mean it is hundreds of dollars off, like Glock
nineteen's for around four fifty. I mean you buy a
membership and then for an extra you know, four five
(09:47):
hundred bucks. Block nineteen Gen five no longer made. It
is a deal, so you can bite over the counter,
or you can come in do the membership like again
starting Tuesday for three fifty get a year membership, which
is great to begin with, and for you know, a
couple hundred dollars more, walk out with one of these
blocks that we're not going to see again.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Yeah, they've stopped manufacturing.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And that includes there is a bunch of moss on
that list too, So that's something you've been thinking about.
It is definitely the time because we have them and
we will not have them again.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah, and even their V model they don't even offer
the moss right on the exact special. So yep, yeah,
and they only offer ten guns period.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I mean, I know, it's interesting. Jac Let's do some
news and we're not gonna We're gonna do some of
the news now and then some of it at the
very end of the show. But let's see what you got.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
There's a ton of it out there. I got to
start off with Supreme Court. This is a big one.
So another assault weapons band case is heading to the
Supreme Court. So they've been delaying on hearing these things.
But there are now states and cities that are banned
so you can't own possess of these Many of these
firearms are just that. Not just the air or fifteen,
(10:58):
but many. But okay, so court is currently scheduled to
consider at their private conference where they decide whether or
not they want to take these things. But they are
currently going to talk in their private conference and whether
or not to take up the challenge to Cook County, Illinois,
where they have banned assault weapons. You can't even possess
them there, and they're going to do this on December fifth.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
So we thought they're not really called assault weapons, no.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
But that's what they call them. I mean, so I'm
using their verbiage, not our verbage, not the real verbiage,
but that is what that is, then quotes. Okay, but
another case has now been presenting itself several plaintiffs. One
of the first ones is named Eddie Grant, so it's
called Grant versus Rovella, who is basically the safety director
(11:47):
for all of Connecticut as far as the state government goes.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
So Grant and a couple.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Of other folks, but the Connecticut Citizens Defense League and
the Second Amendment Foundation, they filed a certain petition with
the Supreme Court in this Grant versus Ravella, seeking to
overturn a US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit
decision that upheld the validity of Connecticut's law banning. They
banned semi automatic rifles, not just a bit semi automatic rifles.
(12:15):
That is what they are banning in the state of Connecticut. So,
according to the media that said, the plaintifs are arguing
that Connecticut's ban encompasses many ordinary and common semi automatic firearms,
and they're all mechanically and functionally identical to every other
semi automatic firearm and the way they fire, and noting
that some firearms are exceedingly common and they're fully protected
(12:38):
by the Second Amendment, but a district.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Court of first upheld the law.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
So they challenged it and went into their eleven member
of court and they affirmed it as well, saying yeah,
that they have the right to ban those even they
said that the plaintiffs failed to demonstrate that they were
common use for self defense. So this is headed up
(13:04):
to they believe the Supreme Court now they have enough
cases coming up that they're going to have to do something,
so very very interesting.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
In fact, the question that was on the.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Petition which I read last night one hundred and seventy
five pages, by the way, it was there are seventy
five pages. The question was whether or not whether the
Second Amendment and fourteenth Amendments of the United States Constitution
guaranteed the right to present semi automatic rifles. They're in
common use for lawful purposes, including the most popular rifle
(13:33):
in the country, the AAR fifteen, which one of the
things that I read in there was because supporting documents,
there's over sixteen point one million for f fifty pickup trucks,
and there's like tens and tens of millions of just ars,
not even the rest of that, so that that should
(13:53):
be should be coming up to have time for Okay,
you're good, this is unfortunately Ruger. I was looking through
all the news stories. Ruger's really pushing the RMX now
that you glock just got hit with with you know,
stopping production, so they're really pushing it. Unfortunately, all those
ads were coming out before this week, and on Monday,
(14:15):
the Connecticut Attorney General, William Tong now Ruger's and located
headquarters as Connecticut, he sent a letter. Of course, he's
a Democrat. He sent a letter to Ruber expressing his
concerns that the rx M pistol can be easily converted
to a machine gun, just.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Like the glock, and that Ruger is aware.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Of it, and he suggested that continuing to sell this
pistol could constitute a violation of the States gun makers liability.
So Ruger's on notice, he says, and the criminals know
that the RXm pistol can be easily converted to an
illegal fully automatic weapon, and they can either sell it
or answer to the lawsuit. He was making a statement
(14:54):
for himself. This just comes after one week every time
for gun safety is one who kind of kicked it
off in in.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
California, which did the whole band.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Well, they send a copy of their letter, of course
to all the blue state officials, and so they're using
that same letter, and so it is this kind of
you know, this is what they're doing. They're ganging up
on it. So much like the glock the allegation against
a Ruger. It does have that cruciform trigger. So they
say it can be converted and modified by using a
(15:24):
glock switch, although they couldn't produce any evidence of any
switch equipped or ExM ever being used anywhere in the
United States as a crime.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Never heard of in the crime. Never heard of that
ever ever being used found by officers, but ever in
the crime. Why do they allow this to go on?
I mean, this is the type of thing that ruins
the country, what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
You know, I got to add another one.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
They also got it one on Wednesday, another lawsuit, and
this one is going to cost them a little bit,
cost them a lot of money, according to the to
the attorneys. So on Wednesday, I cannect get Superior Court
denied sterm Ruger's motion to strike complaints in a case
called Stenistic versus STM. Ruger, and the case arises out
of a Colorado supermarket shooting in twenty twenty one. So
(16:14):
a declared mentally deranged, mentally ill murderer shot and killed
ten people in a supermarket and what he used was
one of the Ruger ar pistols that had the person
that installed a collapsible stock to it, which has been
you know, said legal, but in the suit you normally say, well,
(16:36):
you're going to be protected by the PLACA Protection of
Waffle Conferences and Arms Act because you can't control what
a third person does. But their claims, which their superior
judge said, yeah, yeah, you can go ahead, and this
goes beyond PLACA there being they're saying that Ruger designed
this firearm as a handgun with a stabilizing brace, and
(16:58):
rather than marketing it is a short bill rifle, which
would would call.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
An NFA ADAM.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
So they said they did this to violate the Gun
Control Act nineteen sixty eight and the National Firearms Act
the NFA, and they said that they did it on purpose.
So the claims that are being followed against some are
for negligence, negligence per se, public nuisance, and common law recklessness.
So Ruger moved to strike this, saying that you know,
several of the arguments were banned by the Statute of
(17:25):
limitations that they that the attorney said, and others were
legally insufficient, including there you know, they're protected by the
you know, the Protection of Law of Commerce and Arms
Act because they have no control over what somebody else does.
But the court rejected these arguments and is allowing the
case to go forward. So it's going to go into discovery,
which is really expensive, even though he said it's an
(17:47):
uphill maybe a Herklean climb for the the people who
are suing, but he said, we'll let it go forward.
Both of those in had on Wednesday one Monday.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
They need to go back on these tourneys in these
firms who just chase this stuff around and when this
stuff doesn't go through, they need to pay for the
legal representation. That is that the mean in fact they
had to go This is ridiculous. I mean that there
that was a legal there's everything legal about selling that.
If you don't like it, then talk to the government.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
But it's gone through the government.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
I mean the the ATF.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
They went and viewed and said no, you know, but
according to the law it is legal to sell those,
and we know that. Back and forth, there have been
so many letters from the ATF saying it's okay, it's okay,
it's okay. Thunder Biden said, it's not okay. But then
they said, well, really it is okay, and that's what
Ruger made. But they said, what what you did was
the people found the complaint said, well, you just made
(18:44):
a rifle that's easily concealed by you know, with a
short barrel. So therefore you're respecting up with your congressman.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
It's not it's crazy, it's just I mean, but we
don't make sense anymore, It really doesn't. Guys. Let's go
to a break on the other side, going to talk
to our king, mister Joe King from Black Wings Shooting
Center and much much more. We're talking breadcasting life from
the studios of LAPD Farms arranged. We'll be back after
the break.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Just to clarify all of this assault weapons stuff and
guns being made Folioto. Any gun can be made fully
out of course, and it's not that hard. So for
them to pick on a certain manufacturer like.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
This, that's their slippery slope.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
I mean, they look at the number of firearms that
are used, rifles and homicide. Matter of fact, what was
presenters of the court was all rifles combined. There were
three hundred and eighty of homicides, uh, one year, three
hundred and eighty. And yet they want to just in
the United States in one year, and that's part of
(19:49):
what they were submitted.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
And how many of them were rifles, well, and eighty, but.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
How many they don't have it designated as how many
were aires, how many were case, how many were bold action,
how many were twenty two lover. I mean, it's just
rifles combined, and that's the FBI stats.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
So we've talked about it.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
So they want to take away, they want to do
they want to disarm.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
I'm reckaying.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
They want to get done with that. They're going to say, well, gee,
that was only three hundred and eighty. What's killing more people? Yep,
hand guns, let's take those away. Now we missed the mark.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Guys, no correlation between the song. You know what song
that was, I know who it was. I'm not sure
what the name is. Yes, so that's the name of
the song. Oh guys, you might think there are no kings,
but right here on with us today our favorite king,
mister Joe King from Black Wings On. How are you, sir?
Speaker 5 (20:32):
Hey, old buddy, good to talk to you.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Good to talk to you too. I am so sorry.
You know, we're always running a late story of my
life and stuff. But you guys got some cool stuff
going on. Have you guys been up there and what
you got coming up?
Speaker 6 (20:44):
Dude?
Speaker 5 (20:45):
We're doing good wrapping up corporate seating on the outdoor range,
which makes way for one of my favorite events that
we do this year, the black Light Blitz. Have you
heard about that?
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Eric, We've never been invited, Joe, go ahead, tell us more.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
You're invited this week, this next weekend. I'll pay for
your AMMO and targets you come shoot with me. But no,
what we do is when the sun goes down, we
filled our five stand with a bunch of black lights
and we've got about fifteen targets in there, and we
were basically shooting like black light targets at night. We've
got music pumping. I mean, it looks like you're shooting
(21:20):
laser beans out of the air man. It is probably
one of the coolest things we do. Wow, we're starting
out as early as next Thursday.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Wow. Now, you know, we get a lot of shooting
outside at night too down Bethel Road. But it's not
nothing like that.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
No, No, this is more of a safe space.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Okay, that's good to know. I've heard about that in
the past. Everyone that I've known who has gone to
that has rented and raved about it. It sounds super cool.
You guys use some really neat things out there with
the space and the stuff. I mean, it's it's really neat.
I know you have a machine gun shoot coming up
I think next month.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Yeah, I believe so. Uh, we've got the machine gun
shoot coming up discounted member rate or discounted rates on
machine guns, and we've got a couple of new ones
on the wall too, so come check some of those out.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Jasey, Hey, hey, Joe, do you have a YouTube video
perhaps on that black light shoot. I think if you did,
you'd probably have ten thousand people showing up for that one.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
But I'd love to see it.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
I do, man.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
It is on our website under these If you watch
that video, you will sign up and you actually sign
up right on right on where that YouTube video is
right it is. It is pretty cool, man, Like it's
even better in person. My favorite part is we got
this like big muscular marine that goes in there and
he'll be the range safety officer. The next thing you know,
he's like Crank and Katy Perry in there like it is.
(22:38):
It is an experience, man, it's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
That's cool. I'll go out there and grab that video
and maybe try to throw it on our Facebook page
two for those who are listening. But that's cool. And
then the other thing too I was looking at is
I mean, you guys don't stop. Obviously there's the weather
has an influence, but you have a Winter League outside
as well, don't you.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
We do, and we're very nice about the Winter League.
We give you two weeks to pick the best weather
for each session, so you know high winner's gonna be brutal.
So yeah, you get fifty targets in, you get two
weeks to do it, and it's about a ten week
league and it's actually like really popular. I think last
year we had over fifty people shooting in it.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Wow. Cool. Cool. Are you guys doing good otherwise up there?
I know industry has been down for all of us
and everything, but you guys are all right.
Speaker 5 (23:23):
Yeah, I mean, I think a lot of people I don't. Well,
I guess what I'm saying is, just like you, we're
not you know, we're not selling as much stuff, but
it does seem like people are shooting and enjoying the sports.
So that just makes us as happy people coming in
and helping grow the shooting sports.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
Obviously.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Absolutely, And actually one of the brief stories was we're
now over again a million guns sold one for three
in October, but until I was one to down one,
so you know, so August, September, October of all be
over a million, so at least we're keeping up with
with the industry.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Well, Joe, I'm gonna let you go, but always good
to talk to you. I'll put a link out there
on the page and stop buying visits sometimes.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Yeah, absolutely, and I look forward to seeing you come
shoot it with us next weekend as staff and has
always love you, big guy.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
All right, you as well, We'll see you later. It's
Joe King Blackbey. Guys, just jump to a break. On
the other side, we're cann get to my buddy Richie
and much much more on Target broadcasting live from the
studios of LPD Farms Range. We'll be back after the break.
Welcome back to on Target. I'm your host, IC joined
today in the l EPD studio. I got big Ed
to my right, JC to my left, a live studio
audience out there. What more could you want? Maybe a
(24:30):
highest state football game coming up later?
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Yeah, you know, be and what the forecast I heard
was was only gonna rain for like one less than
one hour.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah, that's good. It's a little windy though, little windy. Hey,
if you're going to the game, watch the officers in
the intersection. Guys, it's nighttime. Last night game we had
there was we had a pedestrian hit, a hit and run.
It is it's We'll pay attention to him, please, because
it is not an easy job being in the middle
of their pedestrians everywhere, traffic everywhere, and everyone under the
(25:00):
Absolutely we'll be down there again, so you know that.
It's it. You know, people just need to pay attention
and stuff to the officers.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Biggest process a lot of oh yeah, then they haven't.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Still the hitting and run they didn't.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Know because it wasn't It was just out of the
intersection and stuff. But speaking of h speaking of hitting
and or speaking of people who just got a new job,
my buddy, Richie Richard another one.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Well, you can't hold down a job, that's what you're
trying to.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Say, are you there, Richie? Richie? Ye, now, Rick, what's that.
Speaker 6 (25:40):
I can hold a job for a long time, but
I'm just in such high demand. When I made an offer,
I can't refuse.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I just absolutely.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Yeah, I was kidding. I knew that was the case.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Now, rich Now you know these things, do you, rich
Do you ever get those things on your phone that
pop up and tell you like, oh, this is what
happened last year, This woul happen ten years ago.
Speaker 6 (26:01):
Yeah, yeah, good old Facebook reminds me of the errors
of my ways in the past. And four years ago
I was at Bethel Road and someone convinced me to
put a pumpkin head or a pumpkin on my head.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Do you mean like just balancing on the top of
your head?
Speaker 6 (26:19):
No, no, someone will go unnamed cut a hole out
and stuck my head in it. And yep, that came
up on Facebook.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
Four years ago.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
Was the last time I was at your establishment? Yes?
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Yes, how long that's been pumpkin for you? This time? Yeah?
I still you know, rich I thought back on that
I don't know how we got it over your head.
I mean it had to be a big pumpkin. But
I have to go back and review that. But Rich,
you got a new job and it kind of exciting.
And Steph, tell us what you're doing now.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Well, I'm back in the firearms industry and after spending
about a year and a half working for the amuskeg
auction company in New Hampshire, I am now working doing
the one thing that I love the most, which is
supporting the brave men and women who wear the blue.
I am now law enforcement sales manager for a distributor
(27:15):
in New Hampshire and it's where I'm comfortable. It's what
I love to do. And as much as I really,
really really enjoyed working for an auction company, without a doubt,
the best job I've ever had, I kind of felt
a little unfulfilled. And I got a phone call from
an old boss of mine and he just made me
(27:37):
an offer that I couldn't say no to.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
And you know what, Rich, in all honesty, though, this
is this is where you belong to. I mean, this
is you, This is where I mean you thrive and stuff.
So it's good, I mean it was neat that you're
at the auction house, but yeah, it's also neat to
see you back on kind of on this side and stuff.
But that's where that's kind of where we first met
and that's where you do best.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Yeah. Well, and now I have to take the four
years I've been out of the industry and rejump my
brain to get back into the latest and greatest of
you know, the fire arms industry and all the new
items that are coming up yearly. And yeah, and I
saw something the other day that man, I was like,
I was completely blown away, and there was no new
(28:22):
gun on my Christmas list, but there is now.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Really, is this something that you can talk about not
talk about or can you tell us about what this was?
Something you can say but you can't.
Speaker 6 (28:34):
Yeah. Well, you know, the industry is very famous for
NBA and non disclosure agreements, and sometimes people will violate those.
But unfortunate, well, I would say, fortunately, I have a
very good reputation with this manufacturing company and I wouldn't
want to, you know, jeopardize that relationship. But I was
so blown away with the new version of this handgun
(28:58):
that I'm going to lead out some of the improvements.
But I just can't tell you who it is or
or what the manufacturer is.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
All right and will be good, Uh, Richie, we don't wanna.
We don't want to cause your grief, so well, we'll
just listen to what what these improvement. Is it something
that that we will have seen in other guns or
is this something totally unique to the industry you feel.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
No, I think it was a long overdue changes for
a certain design. It's definitely one of the most popular
handguns out there. Yeah, I'll say it was high point,
I would tell you, but no, no, it's uh, it's
(29:43):
there there, it's a home run. I was. I was
very pleased to see the improvements. I think that they
could have went a little bit further with some type
of a ported or vented barrel, which seems to be
very popular right now. But that it's not to say
that won't happen in the future, because I did have
that conversation with the rep that I deal with, and
(30:07):
he kind of gave me that you know, that low
head tilt, kind of eyebrow looking like you know, okay,
that's coming down the road. But yeah, they're so new,
this new polymer handgun or this new design that's coming out.
It's got some really nice features. So now everyone likes
the flat face triggers, so they have finally implemented that
(30:27):
as a factory option. It's it's a nice addition. It's
nothing that's been a game changer for me, but it
seems to be what the industry is asking for. They
added a brand new stimple texture, which was nice. It
wasn't too aggressive, but it was nice and grippy, which
a lot of gun owners are sending their guns out
to have them stimple, laser and grave and I think
(30:50):
that the new design is definitely an improvement. They also
changed the grip hand the grip angle, so it's a
little bit more comfortable for you know, on an ergonomic level,
which was something that was needed for many, many years.
They've changed the grip aangle. They did also implement a
(31:13):
large beaver tail which is now a fully integrated part
of the frame, which is nice. I'm a big fan
of beaver tails nineteen elevens or you know, some of
the Seazy shadows and some of the other handguns are
out there. I do like that it helps with recoil mitigation,
So I do like that. What I thought was nice
is they have integrated gas pedals on both sides of
(31:38):
the receiver of the frame. It's not oversized, but it's
definitely noticeable so that you can wrest your thumb, your
support thumb on that gas pedal once again to mitigate recoil.
And I thought that was a really nice ad. I'm
a little curious on how that's going to affect Holster Fit,
(32:00):
but I think they probably have already addressed that. They
also had put a new uh you know when you
when you grab a frame, there's always an indentation for
your thumb to rest into the frame, give you that
nice solid, firm grip. Well, they have a new design
and then they added a smaller recess directly beneath it
(32:23):
to give you better access to the magazine release, which
I thought was a nice addition. They also added a
an angled front serrations on the slide. Do you know
for those guys who like to scissor their frames and
their slides and do that old you know john Wick
press check. Well, what they've done is it is aggressive
(32:45):
on the top and then it tapers down to the
bottom where a slide meets the frame. So for those
guys who like to scissor their guns. That's perfect for them,
and they also did Now this was weird. So they
have a new tapered chamber to improve accuracy. So I
guess you could call it a match grade barrel. But
(33:08):
the rep said, well, it's it's it's to improve accuracy,
but it's also to address the four plus one syndrome.
I looked at him.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
I'm like, have you heard of that?
Speaker 2 (33:17):
I get twenty four plus one?
Speaker 6 (33:18):
Four plus one syndrome? I s I get twenty five
years in the industry, been training and shooting, you know,
when I worked for the government and all that stuff.
I've never heard of it. So are you familiar with
a gentleman by the name of Masada Yub. Yes, well,
he's a local resident up here in New Hampshire and
he had wrote a article. He actually made a book
(33:39):
for six hours. I don't remember the name of the book,
but in there he mentioned this four on target one
flyer syndrome. And I've never heard of it. So, as
it was described to me is when you manually chamber
around that round is not properly seated in the chamber.
I'm like, wait a whole lot, I've never heard that.
(34:00):
How is that even possible. He's like, yep. If you
manually manipulate the slide and you put a round in
the chamber, your first round is going to be off
a little bit. Not on every gun, not on every time,
but it will happen. And I says, that's a bunch
of malarkey. I've never heard that. So that day, because
now I work at a range, I took out my
CZ shadow ts and I also had a CZO seven
(34:24):
and I tested that theory, and sure enough, first round
I fired was about two and a half three inches
off from where I was pointing, and every other round
went right where I was aiming. I'm like, this isn't
this is insane. This this has got to be me.
I'm causing this to happen. So I then loaded one
round in the chamber and then I had two edition
(34:45):
rounds in the magazine. Fired the first round and sure
enough I was off second two rounds. I put in
the same hold. Now this is with a match grade
CZ competition pistol six inch barrel signal lecture trigger, and
I called them up. I'm like, listen, what did you
put in my head? He's like, it doesn't happen. With
(35:06):
every gun, but it can happen, and it was documented
in this book by Messada.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
You.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Now, when I went online because I provided you with
some information, Eric, it took me twenty five minutes of
searching to find any information on it, and sure enough
I did find information on it. But anyways, not beating
a dead horse, because a lot of guys listening to
the show right now are going, Richie's full of it.
He isn't always talking about I've never seen that will.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Come behind, I mean, and probably shouldn't have started with that. Yeah,
that's rich and so they mentioned that specifically when you
were talking.
Speaker 6 (35:48):
No, no, okay, they will just say it is there
to improve accuracy. Once again, it's very similar to some
of the other manufacturers will say it, Oh, it's a
batch grade barrel, so it's improve the accuracy to make
sure that that round is going to be seated correctly
in the chamber, because you know, the chamber inside diameter
it's just a wee bit larger than the shellcase because
(36:09):
when it fires, it expands and then extracts. So if
there's a little bit of tolerance, so technically, if that
brown goes in the chamber, it may not be properly centered.
I don't know. It's once again I thought I thought
it would be really weird. Now I can tell you
that it is going to be released the day before
(36:32):
my birthday, so which means you Eric have to buy
me one for my birthday when they come out.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
He's talking about new pumpkin.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
When is your birthday?
Speaker 6 (36:45):
My birthday is December ninth.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
And we know about this new firearm.
Speaker 6 (36:52):
That is when it is going to drop December.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
So Richie so in, I mean, is this when you
saw it? Is it a benefit and changes that somebody
with maybe a prior model is going to say, Wow,
I need the new one. I mean, is it is
it that much noticeable to you or is it just
like eh, you know, in their little incremental changes and stuff.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
Well, you know, I always say in the industry, there
are wants in there and needs. I certainly don't need
another gun in my safe, but I really do want
one of these, and I am going to get it
with the optic that it is going to be offered with.
I think so. I think so. I think that the
die Hearts that follow that brand will absolutely jump all
(37:37):
over it. I think the improvements are substantial it's noticeable,
it is long overdue. A lot of people are going
to probably, you know, had that conversation as to why
did it take so long for them to do this?
But I did know years ago when I was working
with this company, actually was down at that factory. And
this is something that a lot of people don't take
(37:57):
for granted. There are a lot of aftermarket parts for
a lot of the firearm manufacturers. They're pistols that are
out there. There are there's the thought process is if
we were to build you a Bugatti of a gun,
that is going to take a lot of the aftermarket
companies and put them out of business. So they're actually
not doing everything they possibly could because they respect the
(38:19):
support of the industry and those that make all the
after market parts and upgrades, which is which is great
because they're supporting you know, the mom and pop sharks,
the machinists. Yeah. So I thought that was really nice
and I.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
Actually big question the big question here, Richie, is this
going to be compatible to the old prices or is
it going.
Speaker 1 (38:40):
To be off the hook.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
I will say that the company historically has always kept
a very locked price, so I don't think the price
is going to go up.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
Jase, just quick question what distance was this?
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Because I want to try us now with a lots
of differences.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
I have the four plus one. So what distance were
your shooting?
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Wishie?
Speaker 6 (39:04):
Twenty feet?
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Twenty feet?
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Okay, I'll take time here find this out. So one
thing too, and that I always every time I hear
about a new gun coming out, I'm like another holster, Well,
do you think these are going to fit in prior,
prior model holsters.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
I think it's going to because I have faith in
the manufacturer because once again, they recognize that they have
to conform to that type of a support system. So
if they turned around and changed the overall outside diameter
in shape of that particular pistol, they're going to alienate
(39:39):
a metric ton of holster makers or even those who
currently own a similar model of that manufacturer. Like myself.
I've got, you know, more guns than I want to
admit on the air, but I've got holsters that have
been I've I probably have one hundred plus holsters in
my basement in a box that have just gone.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
We all do.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
I honestly think that they are going to I'm hoping
that it is going to be compatible with the existing
holster for the model that is currently available.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Cool cool, well, Richie, great info. Glad to hear you're
doing well. We got to jump to a break. Let
the record show you had a heck of a long
segment here. I know you always give me grief. I'm
only giving you a minute. I mean that was that
was some time good. I mean I had ella. She's
telling me break.
Speaker 6 (40:29):
By good.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Chie.
Speaker 6 (40:31):
It's always a pleasure to be with you guys as always.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Yeah. Well, good to stay in touch. Rich I'm sure
I'll talk to you.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
Yeah, thanks guys, gentlemen, afternoon, you.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Too, Richie. Guys that jump to a break on the back.
On the other side, got a couple other little pieces
of news before the end on Target Broadcasting Life from
the studios of l EPD Farms. Arrange we'll be back
after the break. You know, I don't think any of
the news or let's just go out with the song.
I mean, there's no news. I'm gonna win lose my bet.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
Then well, I've got three stories, but one of them,
each one of them is less one a short.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
All right, we go, Welcome to Time Target. Good to
hear from Richie. Good to hear from Joe King. Good
to see ed. I mean, what more could I want? Guys?
Let's go to a couple other pieces of news. Jay
C got uh.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Utah just passed a firearms safety in school build Now
only three stations now have this Utah, Arkansas, Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
That require brief age appropriate.
Speaker 3 (41:31):
From K through twelve on gun safety. So this is
something I think Ohio should do. We should look at it.
I mean basically, it just teaches not about guns, no politics,
just what you should do should you encounter.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Maybe that's something that we need to spearhead here. Great, great,
you know what, Maybe we need to spearhead that here.
We know some people that we can maybe get that started.
So what else you got? Okay, he did it? Well? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (41:56):
So other one. A couple of ones are even quicker.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
A part of it hunter education if you have time
to get into a program, because youth two day hunting
seasons coming upon us, and the youth two day season
is November twenty second and twenty third for the for
deer season, adult season is December first to the seventh,
and then again a two day session on December twentieth
and twenty first, So.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
Get right out there, stop on there. Okay, out there?
What else you got? Jase?
Speaker 3 (42:24):
You gouts that I mentioned it when we were, you know,
on a break, but for the third month in a row.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Maybe I did it when when Ritchie was on too.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
But we've we're back to over a million guns a
month sold from the NSC, so that's what this time
is a little bit over one point three alien nationwide.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
So I mean that's good news for all of us.
So so there you go.
Speaker 4 (42:44):
I want to I want to thank all of our
listeners out there on Facebook. We had quite a few
checking in today. I want to thank my brothers for
checking in. Hey, if you guys are out there in
the market, my brother's up there at Sunbury at the
Reiker Express. I didn't know that telling you to come
up there and see you really. Yeah, he's got a
new last form by name. Ask for my brother by name.
His name is Dale Dale Kontel and he's got a
(43:07):
great store up there with Record Express and Sunbury and
just opened up.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
If he mentions your name and stuff, did he get anything?
You get one hundred dollars off? Oh? Really? Yeah? All right,
but they got to use the right name. Okay, all right, cool? Cool, cool,
and guys again Tuesday. The Black Friday sales start early Tuesday.
If you're in the market for a clock, they're going
(43:32):
away Gen five's, Gen four's m os is. We have
them available available, like I said, And it wasn't they
an easy task to get these, but we got them.
We did. I mean, we're lucky to be around for
a while now. So we have some some contacts and stuff.
Next week we're gonna go over now next week, ED
is pending the game time. They haven't announced, so if
(43:54):
the game is okay, if the game is anytime but
one o'clock, we will be on and we're gonna talk
in depth about the sales coming up this holiday season,
which there are some really good stuff we're doing. So
and if you're going down to the game tonight, just
please watch those officers in the intersections. And as always,
as always, guys, let's be careful out there.
