Speaker 1 (00:00):
You cannot silence us any longer. Today, our voices are
going to be heard and you'll find out everything you
need to know about something that's been going on since
nineteen thirty four and it could finally change here in
the next few months. Today, we're not going to stay
quiet any longer, or maybe we will, because today on
on Target, it's all about suppressors on targets. Next. Good afternoon,

(00:25):
Welcome to on Target. We're broadcasting live from the studios
of LAPD Firearms Range and Training Facility that's located at
nine nine nine Triple nine Bethel Road, just west of
three point fifteen. I'm Eric, your host, and Paul. Paul
has left the He's gone. I didn't even stay for
the beginning today.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
You know, I miss it when he's here. But he's here,
gone gone.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
I mean last week I roped him because all you
guys ditch me. Ed's still on probation or coming back
from your suspension, and jac who knows where you were.
But it was just Dad and I last week.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Yeah, the show was not that good.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
You listen to it, Ed, if you haven't listened, it
was no different than any other show. It wasn't that bad.
Was it.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Let's put it this way. When I showed it to
the guys in Cleveland when I was here, they said.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
What Yeah, we had Chief Gilbert on and all right,
all right, guys. We are the owners of LPD Farms,
Range and Training Facility and are active in law enforcement.
But for one hour on Saturdays, we put together a
group of firearms experts to discuss new products in the market,
training tips, and oftentimes political topics surrounding our Second Amendment.

(01:37):
Our commitment, though, has always been to bring you the
facts about our industry and help customers and listeners with safe,
responsible ownership of firearms. I want to start by thanking
our good friend Chief Gilbert, who called in last week.
Ed sorry, you must have missed that part of it.
It was the only good part. It was the only
good part probably, So I thank him for calling in.
Always good to hear him, and he's certainly on the

(01:58):
front lines out there, and it's good to hear him
talking about his troops over there. Today. We are actually,
we're a little bit excited, cautiously excited. It's kind of
a long shot, but there are some news this week
that can really have an impact on our industry. Jac
is going to update us on some of that potential

(02:19):
news shortly and also some news that is it continues
to be disappointing with some of these states and what
they're allowing in some news right out of Kentucky that
has some potential of being not so good. So we're
going to touch on that here shortly at twelve thirty. Though.
At twelve thirty we're going to tackle the world of suppressors,
you know, silencers right.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
When.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
We're going to do that by welcoming our guests, our
sales manager Jake to the floor, and also we're also
we're lucky today because we have Mark Gore from Black
Wing with us. Hey, Mark, Hey, thanks for having me.
I know your dad sat in this chair a few times, absolutely,
and so yeah, good to see here. I mean, you
guys do a ton of suppressed business up there as well.

(03:02):
So twelve thirty we're going to talk a little bit
about suppressors and why you may want to consider one,
especially after the news JC has. So that's coming up
at twelve thirty. Gun of the Week this week, Actually,
and I didn't plan this. I'm saying this was not
planned Mark, but the Gun of the Week is sponsored
by Black Wing Shooting Center.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
So that is so the gun of the week this week.
It's old, it's classic, it's reliable and hard to replicate.
And we're not talking about paulpol Yeah you know, you
know he has a birthday this week.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
You got the first three, right, it's old, it's classic,
and it's hard to break.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah. Hard to replicate that, yeah, hard to replicate this week?

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Right, yep?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Thursday?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, yep, yep. So what else we like to think
our sponsor's US laws shield that are up there today.
I saw him before we jumped on the set. Jackson
Egress Windows. They're going to have the Gun of the
Week next week. Of course, our good friends up at
Black Wing Shooting Center. We're going to get to some
of the events they have coming up there. One is
that a couple of that I might actually want to
come up there and see Mark, you know, finally get

(04:09):
you up. I know that machine guns shoot, and I
told Ed and JC. I didn't mention this to you,
and this is totally preliminary, but you guys do a
great car show each year, absolutely, and uh maybe come
up there and broadcasts from it. We talked about it
last year. But it might be kind of a fun thing.
So yeah, what you guys, jac Oh, no, I.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Just thought I thought it wasn't trust me.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
You're and then of course rivers Edge, Cutlery, all who
make the show possible each week, joining me today in
the studios. You heard the voice of JC. He's sitting
to our left, jac. I can't believe it. I didn't talk.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
We didn't talk this whole week. I think, gone, yeah speaking. Yeah,
you guys were crying, weren't you a little bit?

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Horrible?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, that is the voice of JC to the right
of me. Sits ed back from your two weeks suspension.
Glad you're back. Good to be back, good to be
seen you. You were with your son last week in
Cleveland for the police memorial.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Was We had a grand time out there as usual.
The event is something that everybody in law enforcement should
try and get up to Cleveland to do. I know,
I've talked to a lot of people about it since
I came back, a lot to say they have not
heard about it. But really it's unfortunate. But it's the
Greater Cleveland Police Memorial and it's they take care of

(05:28):
us down up there. I should say they do a
fine job. They make sure that everybody gets to where
they want to be to all the events that they
put on, so you can park your car and it's
free rides wherever you want to go. And hold downtown
Cleveland area.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Well that's neat. I've never been up there for that,
but it's kind of neat. You were able to do
it with your son. Yes, and that's when we.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Went to d C last year and then Cleveland this year,
and I think we're planning on going to d C
again next year.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Well, maybe invite me one of these years.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Hey, would you go?

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I really want to go? I do?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
All right, Well, i'll put you on the calendar.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
You put me on the calend, you keep it.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
I will make sure you're aware there.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
You got really perfect guys. If you miss the show,
you can always catch the podcast. We're at six' tenwtvn
dot com or On facebook and. YouTube ex effort, today
little problems with the YouTube, feed which probably is not
a bad thing because they kick us off every time
we touch a gun or say gun or point our
finger like the. Gun so today it is just showing
out there On. Facebook we'll probably upload it to YouTube later,

(06:23):
though and if you have any questions for us On
Target radio show dot COM's good website to go to
and our emails out there as. WELL JC i heard
you have some. News you got anything good?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Today well there's the other, again the, good the, bad
and the. Ugly sometimes that. Happens so the good news
was potentially good news was very very late On thursday,
morning The House republicans passed by one vote The Big Beautiful,
bill and they passed their massive budget bill and included
at the very last moment was a provision that would

(06:57):
remove silencers actually russers are named, silencers but would remove
them from the purview of The National Firearms. Act so
that would mean that you could go to a if
it passed The senate and then The president signs, it
that would mean that you could go to ANY ffl
and go ahead and purchase a, suppressor just like you

(07:19):
would purchase a gun or, right you, know any any.
Firearms so that would eliminate this the fingerprints is sending
it in two hundred dollars tax stamp for a short
piece of. Metal but, anyway so that passed at the last.
Minute they didn't think it was going to the way
it was written but it. Did they did put it.

(07:39):
In they did not put in The short that's part
of The Hearing Protection, act AND i should mention. That
so that was the focus of, it because that's what
a suppresser. Does it protects your. Hearing it reduces the
sound of about what a good hearing protector would use
if you're shooting at the. Ring so you, know at
thirty two to thirty four desc they all they're all

(08:00):
over the. Board military ones of course do a lot more.
Silence but, anyway so that passed The, house and everyone
who's kind of celebrating, it no more tax. Stamp you'd
be able to do this if it went. Through so
one of the reasons that The Short, act which was
like you, know basically to pass and allow them to
have kind of the short barreled. Rifles if you're allowed

(08:23):
to have a, handgun why not have something, bigger a
short biled. Rifle but they did not include, that and
there's some reasons for, that And i'll just tell you
what's going on with. That the devices of have grown in.
POPULARITY i think over four million suppressors have now registered
and out there without criminal, use so they have that matter,

(08:46):
fact half of that four million was in the last four,
years so it's to be a really good. Thing we
really want to celebrate, this but remember it just passed
The house and unfortunately don't want to dampen. Anything but
even The Senate republicans are saying it has a very
rough road to go in The. Senate and one of

(09:07):
the reasons is is they're trying to push this through
as under The ways And Means committee of The. Senate
The house doesn't have, that so The ways And Means,
committee it is a way too fast track some legislation
from budgetary, concerns and this is where it's important The House.

(09:28):
Republicans The House republicans said that they projected that this
would actually from the budget cut about one point for
billion dollars over ten, years so one point four million a.
Year but that's what the focus is, on is, like,
hey this would save the government money because that's what
The Senate ways And Means committee. Does there's no that

(09:50):
wouldn't help it all off the short reil, rifle so
they just left that. Off so what the problem is
is there is a rule That Senator bird promulgated back
in the. Day it's called The Bird. Rule AND i
hope it doesn't give suppressors the bird when it comes to.
It but this the reconciliation, process which AGAIN i started

(10:10):
mentioning it's a way of fast tracking. Things but they
only look at budget items if anything has a non
budgetary for, example taking suppressors off of the government's, list
because when you buy suppressor now it goes on a.
List they have the fingerprints and, everything but they're trying

(10:31):
to push it through based on the budget because under
this reconciliation process in The ways And Means, committee if
it was just considered as a budget, only then it's
just simple majority to. Pass so all you need is
one more vote than half and you've got a pass.
Bill without, that it needs sixty. Percent we do not

(10:54):
have sixty percent of The. Senate so before it even
makes it to, there they have someone that's called they
traditionally it's called a parliamentarian who looks at everything coming.
Through the purpose is good trying to keep them from
sneaking something in the budget that has absolutely nothing to
do with, money but it can be detrimental to a

(11:14):
lot of other, things so they look at.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
That so that is the.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Process THE primaryss purpose is to look at impacts of the.
Budget that's why they're focusing on the hay it'll save
one point four. Billion but so, far interviews With republicans
on The Senate house And Ways committee have said, that,
wow it's a tough row to hope because they included

(11:38):
in this big beautiful bill taking suppressors off of the
government's list of. Ownership they see that we could possibly
see that as a policy. Bill so if they want
to look at it solely, budgetary and enough people in
The house new about this that they're, saying, look let's
forget about this list. Thing let's just get it so

(12:00):
we'll pass it, through take the money, away and and.
Uh and we think that you know that we could
get this this to. Fly but because the way it's,
written it would take it off of the. List and
if they, say, gee you know, what that's not budget
that's a, policy and they could one person there could
just the parliamentary say it wouldn't. Fly so everyone they've

(12:22):
talked to you so far, says don't get your hopes.
Up we hope it. Does we hope that they'll look at.
It but, anyway that's the bottom. Line so we'll just
have to wait and see it goes to.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Would be better off that's just going through standalone by
you know something that.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
That's some of the people have just, said, look they'll
go to, zero so there's no two hundred. Dollars you
still do everything, else singer, prints submit, it go on the,
list but you don't have to pay. Anybody and they,
said well that's not good. Enough most of the pro
gun organizations are, saying you, know in THE, nra right
and they're, saying, no we need to get this. Through
it's a hearing Protection. Act it'll actually save hearing and uh.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
Right and we'll talk about that a little bitter thirty
on what actually it. Means it's it's not like a
lot of people think SO jc the other, thing.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Oh go, ahead, no, no, no, NO i was just
from that.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Page so the other, thing there's been talk out there with.
THIS i, mean there's all kinds of things that percolate
it up on the. Internet but one of the things
is what the company called silence a central.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
And that's that's WHAT i was flipping.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
To, yeah AND i don't KNOW i.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Was here last week or that would have been a
lead story from last. Week so basically there's some controversy.
Here there is a large one of the largest sellers
of manufacturers of suppressions in The United states is Called Silencers,
central and they do something THAT i wasn't even aware
we talked about last. Night through, them you can fill
out all the paperwork, everything send it right to. Them

(13:43):
they will ship the silencer to your. Doorstep so, right,
yeah people are going what AND i didn't didn't know.
That it turns out that CERTAIN nfa items that are
controlled half can be shipped right to your home do
not have to go through AN.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Ffl so still going through the, background still going through
THE nfa all.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
To do, that all the, fingerprints everything goes.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
There, yeah there's a longer process. Too to get that
paperwork to. You they have to fill up the, paperwork
mail back To silence Or. Central they we're going.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
To let you pontificate or.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
That.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Yeah but the cliff notes version is the fact that
that they have discovered that this company H Silencer, central
who mails, it you, know right to your, doorstep has
actually paid like fifty thousand dollars lobbying against removing this
from THE Nfa. Act because you just got to follow the.
Money if they did, that then you know they.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Dance to their business model would probably fall. APART i
mean from outside looking in the.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Fact that they've given fifty thousand dollars the company that represents,
them AND i Think jake even had a bunch of
stuff to. That but but, anyway so that's, uh that's
one of the things that mark what did.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
That process is is kind of a unique process to
be able to get those shipped to your.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
House, yeah and actually any deal or, yeah you could
do that as. Well you have to the dealer has
to to send the forty four to seventy three the,
customer they fill it, out send it back to the
to the, dealer and then the dealer has to let
local law enforcement know they're going to ship. It there's
waiting periods, involved so it takes once you get your,
approval it'll take at least two sometimes, four six weeks

(15:20):
before you can actually get, it.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
WHICH i don't know what the benefit. Is and maybe
you live out in the country that you don't have
a store closed or something like, that but for you,
know people in the, CITY i don't know why you
wouldn't just pop me. OUT i would get. ANTSY i
would just want to pop down to a store Black
wing OR lapd or wherever it, is and fac that.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Way now that they're stream of the. Process some people
say that they get them back within two days or
less of the approval and then you can just go pick.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
It, up, Right, Jase let's jump to a. Break when
we come, back, THOUGH i want to hit the story
out Of. Kentucky that was kind of, disturbing if you.
Will it's it's preliminary, still but it still it kind
of goes you to what we're fighting. Against we're all
talking at broadcasting live from the studios OF Lupd. Farms.
Arrange we'll be back right after the. Break, GUYS i
can't believe it Is Memorial day weekend. Already Memorial day.

(16:06):
Weekend welcome back to On target for Your Memorial day weekend.
Show I'm Here's derek joined today WITH jc is sitting beside,
me as Is big Ed A'S i Got mark from
Black wing. Here always good to see. You glad you
came down here to sit with us for a few. MINUTES.
Jc before we hit the gun of the, week tell

(16:26):
us what is going on In kentucky that has us
concerned a bit.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
But not making as Much moonshine AS i used to.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
It, well that is that was a, concern that was.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
One but when the firearms this just happened In Jefferson.
County Jefferson county judge ruled basically and his reasoning for is,
this let me go back and, say in twenty twenty
three there was a BANK i guess robbery hold, Up
LIKE i came in with an ar killed five people
and wounded several. Others and this has gone to from

(17:00):
the survivors and they, want of course sue who do
they want to sue who made the, gun the manufacturer
and the dealer that sold the. Gun, normally you, know
at this stage they, go, look there's THE, placa you,
know The protection Of Lawful commerce And Arms, act which
says that whoever makes it legally as long as it's
not defective and it's out, there they don't know who

(17:20):
it's being sold, to and you, know so they are
protected from. Lawsuits, well this, JUDGE i think he was
just basically you, know small. Town it's called The Old
National bank was the name of the bank In Jefferson.
County so he ruled on behalf of the victims on
this Past, monday and said that, yes they can sue

(17:43):
the dealer who sold the rifle and also the manufacturer
of the. Rifle so once again they just even if
it doesn't go. ANYWHERE i don't know if they, did
it does a feel, good but they said that, yes
the manufacturer of the rifle WAS. Rsr and the main the,
distributor apartment, DISTRIBUTOR i, said manufactured theres are and uh

(18:07):
so they're allowed to sue that the, dealer the, distributor, uh.
Manufacturer and what's what's, interesting he even included manufactured some
of the. Accessories the gun was laden with a couple
of H i, Said, Leyden but it had a stock
that came From, magpole had a vertical pistol grip that shooting.

(18:28):
It but, yeah so you could See magpole because they
made the had a had a. Handle but they also
included the there Used magpole mags which anyone who's going
which you would use, judge uh two years older than,
god it says. HERE i don't know if that's really
uh make that's. ACTION i, mean the thing, is but

(18:49):
the bottom line is is that you, know once, again
you know wherever it. Goes but the fact is that
that's what. Happened do you have a witness there saying
they can't believe the guy that the dealer ship sold
a gun because he said he looked totally out of,
it didn't know anything about. Guns he, looked they, said
just looking in his. Eyes the people who saw it,
said you, know, wow that's what they shouldn't have sold the.

(19:10):
Gun they, did and so that's why everyone's moved up the.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Line But, mark have you guys ever sold a gun
to anyone who really didn't know much about? Guns AND
i mean that is a lot of people walk in
the door exactly exactly. Now the guy came in and,
said and THEN i need a good ar to shoot
up a place and come, on you come to the right. Stop,
OKAY i get, It but to sue the distributor who
has nothing to. DO i, mean this is the death

(19:34):
by a thousand cuts that we're always talking.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
About and that's but that's just that is just another.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
One, Yeah so jac let's go to The gun of
The week this week is sponsored by our good friends
Up North Black Wing Shooting. Center look at. That you
know it's, Funny, mark because this Is gun of The.
Week you had nothing to do to do with picking it,
out BUT i pretend you. Did, Yes so, guys this,
one this is a, classic and this is one we've
probably done before over, time but this came in. Recently it.

(20:01):
Is it's just one of those. Classics WHAT i have
here in front of me is a model TEN jc
classic model ten ten to, seven probably from the late, seventies, right,
YEAH i think ten the, seven eight. Seventies and what
is kind of unique about this one That i'm not
quite sure why they did, it but it's the pencil.
BARREL i, mean look at. THAT i, MEAN i don't
know what what the significance of that was at the

(20:23):
time versus the bull, barrels but just, well it's.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Lighter this is a police basically a police fire. ARMY i,
mean this came out that eighteen late eighteen. Hundreds they
changed the you, know fifty, seven they started giving different
model names to. It but this was just a basic.
Gun if you look back to ones that just at
the turn of the century would look just like, THIS
i think the pencil. Barrow it's just. Lighter it's not
a target, gun it's an offensive. Gun and but that
is a it's a really really great shape for a

(20:48):
for a. Shooter it's not right, classic it's scratches a little.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Bit, YEAH i mean it's one you might want to
just throw around and you, know and.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
The truck's really really excellent on. It, yeah but it's
it's a terrific. Gun and how they've been using the
thirty Eight special came out in nineteen oh. Two, uh
that's when it first came out as a. Cartridge so
it's been around that long and it's done a you,
know a stoic job in its, history and that's that's
a perfect gun to have as just as a as

(21:16):
a user nut. Collector but it's got style and grace
that it's had For.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
And, Mark i'm sure you have a couple Of revolvers
in your personal, collection do you with your? Dad? Yeah really, yeah,
YEAH i said this one just wanted that caught my.
Eye nothing super fancy about, it just one that came
in to the.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Store, yeah don't. MODIFICATION i know it has not crups on,
there but it. Does someone wipe it out the front,
site which is a good thing because when you're looking at,
that you, know putting a little nail potlish're on. There
but it's a it's a.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
GREAT i Think phil got a hold of it to
put that white stuff on the front.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Sight, yeah get a little nail polats on. That that's a.
Nice that's a nice just great for the, drawer for
for the, car and it's fun to. Shoot and, yeah
there you, go, guys we're gonna jump to a. Break
on the other, side we're gonna talk about, suppressors everything
you wanted to. Know we're gonna be joined by our

are we giving away a holster with, him Now daniel
has come out and said they're going to give away.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
A, yeah So daniel has given away with the purchase
of AN h nine for the next week and a
half or, so they're giving away a free mounting plate
and delta point pro which you can redeem from. Them
so that's pretty.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Cool, yep pretty cool if you've been in the market for. This,
yeah we're expected with the holster and that and so.
Forth so, guys we're going to talk about suppressors for
the rest of the. Show and actually they're they're referred
to as silencers with THE, atf which is a little
bit it is probably more appropriate to call them suppressors or,
mufflers because they're. Not they don't silence the.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Firearm and it's all Because Hiram Maxim germany invented this
and for sales purposes In, germany you, know he wanted
to call its, silencer but really it's a. Muffler just
reduces a sound. Array as a matter of, Fact we
had a video of us shooting a gun in here
without and then put one in same, gun and people
my wife had include, said but what's it. DOING i

(25:02):
can still hear that, plainly so it just reduces. It
but because it came over in the eighteen hundreds as
silence or they've they've actually kept That moniker.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
And so a couple of things to keep in mind
when you look at it from the sound part of,
it the decibel part of. IT a normal rifle is
about one hundred and sixty three, decibels handguns one hundred
and sixty six. Decibels any of these suppressors that you put,
on the best you're going to get is them reducing
it by maybe thirty to thirty five. Decibels so when

(25:33):
you do, that just to give you a frame of,
reference that is still louder than a car, Horn it's
still louder than a crowd out of, stadium a, chainsaw
a leaf, Blower so it doesn't you, know at best
with subsonic ammunition and so, forth maybe you can go
without hearing. Protection it drops it below. That But, jake
we were talking about that. Too THE oshus standards of

(25:54):
what one twenty they recommend hearing Protection.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
Ye any prolonged exposure to over one hundred and twenty, Decibels.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
So a lot of this is still above. That so
just to set the, stage not to say there's not
a great reason for getting, them but just set the
expectation for a lot of those who don't. Know they
think suppressor are all people are going to go around
shooting guns and we're not going to know where the
where the bullets came. From it's not the case where it.
Is so so having that in, mind Why, jake why

(26:24):
would why why DO i want to suppress?

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Her?

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Yeah why what DO i? Want?

Speaker 5 (26:27):
One, well it's still, better you, know it's still quieter
and depending ON i, mean it depends on what you're shooting,
Too so there are you, know there are a lot
of guns that you can, shoot depend on the, caliber
depend on the rounds that you're, using that will be you,
know totally hear and safe with the. Suppressor you, know
they also eliminate flash concussion. Signature there's a lot of

(26:50):
reasons to want to suppress.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Her so there's still other than the cool, factor where
there's a cool factor, too, Right, oh yeah for. Sure,
Yeah SO i mean in one of the Things, jac
we've talked about. Too. DEFENSE i, mean if you're using
a firearm in your house for home defense and you
have to shoot.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
It, yeah if you have ever fired any kind of
a firearm inside of a closed, house especially at, vite
but everything is, quiet if it goes, off you will
be shocked in a bad.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Way you took them from, EXPERIENCE. Jc, yeah we.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Shot i've shot up in homes that they were going
to tear down and they, say, hey you guys want
to do the do a shoot in? Here you can do?
This AND i, went CAN i come? In and they
do it A tdi too when they have a little
shoot house down there and you can you can see
specially twelve. Gays so what DO i have by my
bed and my wife's bedside table the same. Room she

(27:39):
can either reach mine or. Hers but hearing protection at,
home you need to get some electronic hearing protection if
you hear anyone breaking. In when you put these things,
on it multiplies your ability to. Hear we get that
time when we had our, cat we could hear walking
across sixty feet, away walking across our, floor in the
in the in the in the. Bedroom at least until
the furnace came, on then that kind of white things.
Out it gives you protection from your, hearing also helps

(28:01):
you determine where the threat is coming. From and it's
it's it's a great. Thing so if you've got hearing,
protection especially the electronic that boost the, sound don't leave
it in your shooting. Bag put it right next to
your bed and if something does, happen you protect your.
Hearing and it's really a great defensive.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Tool so jake on on the. Suppressors if you decide, that,
Hey i'm gonna buy, one one of the things you
got to look. FOR i, mean these suppressors come in different.
CALIBERS i, mean you you're buying it oftentimes specific to
a purpose into the firearm that you're you're looking to. Suppress.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Correct, yeah a lot of, time a lot of time
that there is a very specific use for a particular.
Suppressor but you can also get cans that are you,
know kind of multical or multi use cans as, Well
so there's there is variety out.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
There so we get people and mark time in anytime
too that you guys ARE i, mean this is your
forte as. Well but oftentimes on, suppressors people CAN i
just buy one and put it on multiple guns and
depending we're gonna talk about in a second how they
attach to the firem and so, Forth but you, can
in essence do. That but anytime that you buy something
that's a bigger caliber than what you're trying to suppress

(29:13):
Us let's say you have a forty five caliber suppressor
and you're putting it on a, nine so it's a
little bit oversized for, it you tend to not get
the same suppression as you would with something that's just
dedicated to a.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
Nine, Correct you're probably not gonna get as good of
a tone out of, it you might not get as
much decibel. REDUCTION a forty five to a nine is
actually not. Bad it's not that. Overboard if you were
using say like a forty five rifle rate it can
on a, five, five, six it's gonna be pretty. Terrible it's,
suppressed you, know compared to something that's more dedicated to that.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Purpose so when you're out there looking for, them you're
you want to pick something that's going to be right
for you for the gun that you're you're looking, at
and maybe maybe across multiple, firearms are you also looking at.
DURABILITY i, mean are you is there Something is there
very much difference in the sound suppression or are they
all pretty much the same in that.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
Regards it's gonna depend a lot on the internal volume
of the. Can it's gonna be what determines how quiet
it's gonna. Be so similarly sized cans are typically gonna
sound pretty similar on the same, Firearm.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
So you're given. Away if you get something that has
more volume to, it you might stand to have a
little bit more, Suppression but you're also talking about a bigger,
can a bigger, suppressor you, know and when you're talking
about on a, handgun sometimes that can be a detriment to,
it or you might have to have suppressor, height sights
to see over it and so. Forth, well, yeah that's

(30:42):
a good point with the.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Handgun so there are you, know stuff LIKE i believe
we've got one up, there like The Dead Air primal
is as a forty six cow, can you could you
can get booster assembly for that use it on a,
handgun but it is a larger diameter, can so your
sites are going to have to be taller generally than you,

(31:03):
know something with a that's more pistol focused will typically
have a little bit thinner diameter.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
Overall so how did they how do they actually suppress the?
Sun what's inside the? Can to do? That they put
it fill it with a bunch of. Rags you, know,
WELL i mean people want to, can you.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
Can't so basically the goal is to trap and slow
that gas before it exits the, muzzle and that's what's
quieting your. Sound and so there are there are a
bunch of different ways that they do that tell me
your Traditional your traditional suppressor is a baffle, stack so
it has inline expansion chambers that allow the gas to,

(31:42):
expand cool and slow before it exits the. Muzzle that's
going to be your most common. Type now you have
stuff like the hucksworks where they have their flow through
designed with helical channels that the gas expands out into
as it travels, through kind of giving that same, expansion

(32:02):
uh and slowing. Effect but it's just operating a little bit.
Differently you, could you, know in, theory do that with
like if you've stuffed enough rags in, there you would
get a muffling effect for that through a pillow that, Material,
yeah that material.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Is going to.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Pillow you also have like wipe cans which operate similarly
to a baffle stack, suppressor but they have rubber wipes
and basically as the bullet passes, through those diaphragms recontract
on themselves and trap that gas and those.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Changed.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
Yeah, yeah they're really good for about ten, rounds.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
So that the the can itself are? THEY i know
when they when they first came, out there was a
lot of talk about having to clean them all the
time because they get real. Dirty is that changed at?

Speaker 5 (32:58):
All, WELL i don't know what they were talking about
back back, then but, yeah you do need to clean.
Them it depends on the type of can that Your
some require more maintenance than. Others some are user, serviceable
some are. Not maybe you can actually take them completely
apart and like physically clean them. YOURSELF a lot require

(33:19):
you to use like a solvent tank or something like
that to clean, them but you, know it's a lot
less than you would, think you, know for most.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Cans what's your MOST i, mean you guys sell a
lot of, suppressors, yeah At Black, Wings so, yeah what's
your what's your take on what's what's the most popular?
ONE i assuming my guests would just be a two
for a two two, three BUT i don't know.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
That, actually rifle suppressor is very, popular just very. Versatile
handgun suppressors are great. Too that's JUST i feel like
that's the ultimate cool, factor is having a suppressor on a.
Handgun it's like twice the, length just feels. Awesome BUT
i would say probably rifle is the most. Popular but we,
see we see a lot of people buying one of.

(33:58):
EACH i, think you, know that's our. Pitch someone, says
what DO i buy by A Rampier express or a
handgut spresser and a rife Expressor.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
YEAH i always help people once they start shooting, supress
you're not gonna want to shoot any other, way so you,
yeah to get them for all of your guns much.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Better and it's funny you say that because and, now
and we reported on this last. YEAR i, mean it
used to take up to a year to get THE
nfa paperwork. BACK i don't know, why still don't have
a straight answer from, anyone but, somehow someway the one
good thing from The biden, administration this, one this is
it all of a. Sudden now paperwork submitted electronically is

(34:34):
coming back within twenty four to forty eight. HOURS i
had a neighbor who came in a couple of tuesdays
ago and he's, like you know, What, Delbert i'm Finally
i'm gonna buy that's the. Pressure he's been talking about
it for ten, years, right he, Said i'm gonna buy.
It so he came in on A, tuesday didn't have
one picked, Out jake worked with, him started the, paperwork
and On friday had it at. Home it's just.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Amazing and it used to be eleven. Months, hey if
you're a police, officer we had piss offs coming on,
OKAY i really want to get one days eleven months
before they get the. Okay and now twenty four, Hours,
yeah twenty four.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
Hours it's incredible just how it should be and. Stuff
and there's really there's no reason that these should. Be,
yeah there's no reason that these should be on THE nfa.
Registry there's no they should be at the very least
able to be purchased over the, counter like a. Firearm
do a background check here and you're out the door
if it even. That but you, know there's so many

(35:27):
benefits to these on the hearing safe and being able
to shoot without hearing, protection or the reduced. DECIBELS i
mean it's a good. THING i don't understand why there's
pushback to not have it a law of that. Effect
we do, think, yeah, yeah there you.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Go there's a lot of manufacturers out, there are there
is there anything innovative that's happening with them? NOW i
mean the THREE.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
D, Printing so what is?

Speaker 5 (35:49):
That, yeah so the metal THREE d, printings that's probably the,
newest hottest. THING i, mean it's been around for a little.
While it's getting more and more common in the construction
of suppressors to use some metal THREE d. Printing AND
i mean that's really the biggest functional change since the

(36:10):
can was invented, originally everybody's been kind of making them
the same.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Way For, yeah and there's there's some people making some
magic out there. Though cat's gotten really. Big cats is
a suppressor, brand and they just they like if you
look at the suppressor, tests they are just destroying both other,
brands all the other brands that are out, there Like
reduction or and so there's they will they'll measure the

(36:37):
sound from one suppressor to, another and they JUST i
don't know what it is that they do something some
Somehow they're design is just.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
Phenomenal it allows them to do some really cool stuff
with like the internal geometry of the cans that you
wouldn't be able to do on ANY c AND c
or mill like MULTI xl that we. Have it's way more.
Complex so it allows them to get that greater internal
volume for the. Cans so it used to be the

(37:05):
case that like the flow through cans were really pretty
poor as far as desciboard. Reduction but now you, know
with the new stuff that places Like cat Or Hucks
works or other places are putting, out you're getting almost
identical descboard reduction to your your traditional baffle.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Stack well what's The, yeah how does that work that
is so much? Better is that also Increase i'm just.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
Curious AND i skimmed over one part of. That the
neat thing with The cat and some of these other
guys that are catching on is they do they have
a flow through suppressor which is low back pressure but
is also quieter than non flow through. Suppressors and that's
like wild to be able to, do because to reduce
the back pressure in the, gun you allow more gas
to flow through the. Suppressor typically that means it's, louder.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
But so they're accomplishing. Both they're getting both. Done, wow,
guys that' chop to a. Break when we come back
on the other, side we're going to continue our. Discussion
we're going to talk about ways to, attach we're gonna
talk about the ammunition required with, suppressors and a little bit.
More we're on talking our broadcasting line from the studios
OF Lpd Farms. Range we'll be back right after the.
BREAK i think we just let this play out the

(38:13):
rest of the, SHOW, JC i, mean we got nothing
important to. Say it Is Memorial day, Weekend Real day.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
WEEKEND i know that's that's. Important people have died IN
us services so, far like one, million one hundred and
almost ninety, thousand so. Wow so and that's that's a.
Lot most of it actually half of it a civil
war six, wow fifty. Thousand yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Wow, guys welcome back to On. Target i'm your. Host
are joined in THE lpd. STUDIOS i got Big, Ed,
Jake mark From Black, wing AND jc all sitting up
here talking about. Suppressors before we go further, Though, MARK
i wanted to h to ask you real. Quick you
guys got a machine gun shoot coming up soon and
also a suppressor fest we.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Do.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
Yes so we have our second Nual House spresserfest had
this last year for the first, time sold, out awesome
event and that we bring in kind of really all
the biggest, brands bring in reps from those. Brands we have.
Guns you can guns and. Spressers you can demo about
sixty different. Setups you can, shoot you can talk to
the reps at the different. Companies we'll have, raffles, seminars food,

(39:20):
trucks even a little bit of. Everything and you, know
you buy tickets if you want to do the, demoing
or it's free to just come out and talk to the.
Reps a ton of. Fun it's a blast and a
good portion of what we're doing helps to raise fundraised
for The American Supresser. Association and that is the, company
not the, company the organization right that has been PUSHING

(39:42):
HbA that portion.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Of That Law Protection.

Speaker 3 (39:44):
Act.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Perfect so, great you come, out you're supporting a great,
cause you have fun while you're doing, it and want right.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
Perfect, yeah the machine guns? Shoot do you shoot any
entripods or is it just mostly?

Speaker 4 (39:57):
Yes so we will have not pods for this for this,
event will also have machine guns you can shoot supress
machine guns of. Course and then we're having a suppressor
or suppressor machine gun a specific event at Our Summer
blast which is In, july and that will have belted machine.
Guns we'll, have we'll have the whole. Gambit, great, great

(40:20):
even if we're.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Loud really, okay, cool, cool cool.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Guys within the last couple of minutes, here, THOUGH i
wanted to get to a couple of last things about
the suppressors ammunition we talked. About, obviously if you buy
subsonic ammunition for nine millimeters or twenty twos or three hundred,
blackout that's really where these suppressors start to shine when
you put subsonic to.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
It.

Speaker 5 (40:39):
Correct, Yeah, yeah that's when you're gonna get down and
be you, know close to or below hearing save threshold
to where you don't need to wear it your pro.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
And you're giving though a little bit on the the
ballistics of the round because obviously you're dropping that round
below the sound. Barrier SO i mean that's something you
have to reconcile within your own mind on on your
application and so.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Forth, yeah sometimes you have to think about if you
use it for like defensive, purposes because you're losing. Velocity you,
know projectile design and stuff like, that it's going to
come into. Play you're gonna have to really kind of
pick what you want to use for, that.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Right three hundred blackout is REALLY i think made for
this being. Suppressed it is super neat being able to
shoot the rifle around like that suppressed two two three
not so. MUCH i mean a lot of TIMES i
think that the value in the two two three suppression
is with these shorter, barrels you lose some of the.
Signature it takes the edge off of. It but they're
certainly Not you're Not you're not going to go to

(41:35):
the range typically and put a suppressure on your your
short barrow two two three and not have hearing. Protection.

Speaker 4 (41:40):
Yeah, Absolutely, yeah it's.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Miserable, yeah it.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Is it.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
IS i mean it helps you for these entry teams
or for your home and stuff like, that but it
just it's. Not it's not the quiet shooting that that
you know they would lead you to. Believe sometimes what?
Else guys always to attach multiple ways to attach are
starting to come out with some universal. Methods now though
because a lot of it was specific to the suppressor

(42:05):
correct you had to buy their flash hiders when you're
talking about. Rifles, yeah more like specific to.

Speaker 5 (42:09):
The, brands to the kind of like living in an.
Ecosystem like you, know you got an, iPhone you get
An Apple. Watch you, know they just kind of work
together and you can live in that ecosystem within that. Brand,
now with like hub compatibility and stuff like, that it
makes you, know a lot more versatile experience for. You
put different hub on different. Cans if you like particular muscle,

(42:32):
advice say Like surefire must. ADVICES i can get A
hucksworks can put A surefire hub on there and just
rock and.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Roll.

Speaker 1 (42:39):
GREAT i think it would be a nice gesture for
you to buy me a. Suppressor, Jake oh, yeah you,
know you, know it would be very. Nice, yeah it would.
Be AND i just want to put that out there and. Stuff, well,
guys thanks for spending some time with us here or
great to see. You if you're in the market for,
suppressor come check any of us. OUT i mean certainly
we can walk you through the. Process now with The.
Kiosk you guys of a kios as, Well, yeah it

(43:01):
makes it super. EASY i mean there's really no reason
not to have. One totally, Agree. Yep so definitely definitely
check it. Out Jac do you have any?

Speaker 2 (43:10):
Yet NO i do. Not i've fired, several but NO
i do. Not my bride seems to think that there's
other ways to spend, Money like, REALLY i would have
chews for a wedding and necklaces and, yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Yeah they're fun, though like the one we have here
on the counter on a twenty. TWO i mean that
those are. FUN i mean those are you start to
get all over to That hollywood.

Speaker 3 (43:30):
Silence it looks like A hollywood.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Gun, yeah, yeah, yeah they wouldn't like, that just fun
the looks of. It even if it was just you,
know The davis didn't have a suppressor on the antis
would just go, yep gotta be an assault.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
Weapon.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Right, so, guys thanks for spending the last hour with.
Us remember it's A Memorial. Day think about those men
