Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm still amazed at the show that is going to
be coming up shortly today. We've had a ton of
guests over the years, thirteen years. Actually, we've had Hiccock
forty five here, Eric Trump, Senators, I mean, so many,
so many more. But today one of our guests is
one of the most iconic ones we've ever had on
(00:22):
the show, Revolutionary and after forty eight years, forty eight years,
is still at the top of his game. Today we
are so excited to welcome as a first time guest
to the show. Well, let's just get started. On Target
is next. Good afternoon. On Target, we're broadcasting live from
the studios of LPD Firearms Range and Training Facility. If
(00:45):
you don't know where that's at, that's at nine nine
nine Triple nine Bethel Road, just west of three point fifteen.
Make sure you put that in your phone. You're gonna
need it for next week. Jac I think that was
a little bit of a butt heead move. I go
and tease this guy who's coming, and don't say we'll
talk about it.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I'll tell you who it is here in a minute.
But yeah, I mean yeah, they should. They will recognize
the name.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
You think, so do you think so. Yeah, Well, guys,
we are the owners of LPD Firearms Drains and Training Facility,
Interactive in law Enforcement. But for one hour on Saturdays,
we put together a group of firearm experts to discuss
new products in the market, training tips on oftentimes political
topics surrounding the Second Amendment often in times. Our commitment
that has always been to bring you facts about our
(01:26):
industry and help customers and listeners with safe, responsible ownership
of firearms. Day on the show, you know what, we
opened up the phone lines last week. JC. No one called,
but we had a lot of people sending us emails.
And the reason for that on Target at LPD dot
com is the email address we went next week is
(01:47):
the big guest next week, Columbus City Prosecutor Zach Klein
is going to be sitting here in studio with us.
Come join us next week in studio, come see it
live in person. But we last week we said hey,
if you want us to ask a question, send us
some emails, give us a call, and we had a
bunch of people do that on Target LPD dot com.
(02:08):
Continue to do that. We're putting it together for next week.
It should be a great interesting conversation and uh so
that will You're not gonna want to miss that today. Though,
today jac is gonna get you cut up on news,
actually pretty crummy news, but he is gonna get you
cut up on that. The Gun of the Week two
hints at two hints of the gunner week. Don't go
(02:29):
spilling it. I'll turn your mic off. Okay, two weeks
for the two hints for the Gun of Week one
in my shirt, it's.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
What's my shirt sayings wrong with my Mike? All right?
Speaker 4 (02:43):
I won't tell anybody, I know, I know what somebody
that's gonna want it real bad when he hears it.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
So the first the first hint is JC, what's my
shirt today?
Speaker 2 (02:53):
It says make Revolvers great again?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Great? It's a great heart. They've always been the thing, though,
is it comes yet again for one of the distributors
in the industry. He's kind of about the forefront with
these specials. It's a Lipsies special and if you remember correctly,
Lipsey's is the one who came out and that everyone
in the studio audience is cheering because they've all bought him.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
The thirty two h and R Magnums snub nosed. There
is yet another one now that we're going.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
To talk about here. I might have to take a
loan on it for this one.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
You guys are all. I can't believe how much excited
you guys all about that one.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
It is beautiful. Yeah, I'm speechless.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, Okay, Christmas is around the corner. You're gonna buy
it for me for Christmas for somebody might right.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Santomo guys at twelve thirty.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Okay, I can't hold it in personally, I can't hold
it in any That's what we'll buy it. This is
not on script, guys, Sorry, guys. At twelve thirty, I'm
not gonna hold it anymore. Bill Willson is calling in
the iconic Wilson combat. Yes, he is calling in what
(04:07):
I don't even call it a career, what a.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Just an iconicon in the competition industry. And he continues
to do that and absolutely it's amazing. So yeah, amazing.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So Bill's going to call in talk about what it
was like in nineteen seventy seven when he opened up
the store in the back of his parents' jewelry shop,
and what has evolved to today. So we're going to
be happy to hear from the three seven and of course,
guys don't forget. As we mentioned, next week Saturday, mark
(04:40):
your calendars. Come see the show live. It's going to
be for a heck of a show. We've already I
think we've cleared out some commercials for it. It's going
to be hopefully a good run. We'll have some time
to have a good, good discussion with Lumbas City Prosecutor
Zach Klin. Like to thank our sponsors US Law, Shield, Jackson, Egress, Windows,
Black Wings, Shooting Center, Rivers Edge Cutlery, and of course
Eli the Training Facility, all who make the show possible
(05:02):
each week joining me today. You've already heard their voices.
I got a big ed to my right. You know
ed the you know, have you ever been so Have
we ever been so excited to see you as we
were today?
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Oh? I don't know. You know it wasn't me that
you were excited to see.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
But that you've kind of gone to the dogs. I
think I have, but that's why we're excited.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
You had to drive your puppy here today.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
I did so. I left one at home and brought
one in.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
You might have a hard time getting it out of
Laurie's hands.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, she's been bugging me since the I know. I
got him to bring him in and.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
The dogs, the puppies.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Name is the one that's with me to Williams.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Tank, Williams Junior. I'm liking that.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's the voice of Jac to my left. Jac did
you see I don't know. I don't know if we
talked about this or not. I did a story this
week with Channelton Great reporter reporter Carla, and it was
about the tragedy of this nine year old finding a
firearm and shooting himself. And it's just, man, she seems
like we talk about this all the time with nothing changing.
(06:04):
But one of the things that and I always try
with these young reporters to give them some advice, especially
when you're dealing in the firearms industry, with firearms owners,
because we're pretty sensitive to how things are reported, you know,
because we know that words do matter. And in this case,
when her story was very good, but when the anchorman
(06:25):
kicked it off to her, he said, now tell me,
maybe I'm crazy, maybe I'm too sensitive in this, but
he says, hey, we're going to go to a carl here.
She's going to talk about the nine year old who
was handling a gun and it went off. I said,
goll it, it didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
It didn't go off.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
He pulled the trigger. I mean, it's unfortunate. It's the tragedy.
It didn't go off. I said, you're replying that this
is like holding a stick of dynamite that's on you know,
it lit, and I was holding it in boom it
went off. No, it didn't just go off. And it
might be a little nuance, but I think it matters.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
It's important. Yeah, social people who are just uninitiated fire.
I's like, oh my goodness, a tenderous kid. Even I've
seen that in action where someone had a gun that
was laying on a table and everyone was walking around
like it was a bomb, and there's a fusion.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I said, both, let's it's because of this. It's because
and now I'm sure they didn't do it, you know,
intentionally or whatever, but still it was. You know, the
way that comes across it is implied that is just
so dangerous and so volatile it could just at any time,
innocently enough, you're holding it and it goes off.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Let me tell you I have a.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
I mean other than say three twenties, but I haven't.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
So I have a six hour. It's not the three twenty.
But I purchased it when I got in law enforcement
way back in the day. And that gun has remained
loaded since the day I bought it, except for when
you're cleaning it, obviously, And that gun has never went.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Off, never did, It's never never happened.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
It's over thirty years. Wow, that guns sat in my cabinet.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Ticking time bomb.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I have no it's never said a word.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Really no, my gun's talked to me yet. I don't
know jac what kind of news you got for so.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
A ton of stuff and none of it's really good. Okay,
this is this is a big ee. We talked about
this before, but now some of the rest of the
story comes out. Governor Knewsome last Friday, so I didn't
get it before last the last show, I signed the
bill banning blocks in the state of California. So when
I say banning banning the sale by licensed dealers, you
(08:38):
know individuals can still keep their blocks they have banned.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
You're allowed to.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Have the models the Series one, two, and three, but
never will you be able to get a glock Series
four or five or whatever they come up with. Because
their specifications are magazine release a block, they have to
have a safety on it. They have to have several variations.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
That block is not going to do.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
But anyway, so this law that just passed, and it
was aimed, of course at unintended. I guess the new
law bands that again the sale of pistols. But they're new.
Some deputy director of communications you know, put it out
there that you know, and I agree with the first
part of it. Americans agree the machine guns don't belong
in the hands of you know, people on the street.
(09:24):
But she said through a design defect. Through a design defect,
some some automatic soul today allow anyone with a screwdriver
and an internet access UH to convert these to fully
automatic firearms. So I guess she means orange juice vodka.
Anyone the screwdriver and internet access can do this. She
forgot that you also have to have the part with
(09:45):
that with the switch. So anyway, she said, there allaw
requires the glock to fix it before though, and have
to have parts. They will never have a four or
five or whatever, but but they can. They want them
to be able to fix the one, twos and threes
and that's not gonna happ either. So this this move
escalates the efforts to reduce the number of guns in California.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Uh we were talking about LA LA Yeah, yeah, there
you go.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
So National Rifle Associated Firearms Policy Coalition and the Second
Amendment Foundation, I mean, they just said, look, it's this
is an unconstitutional attempt to outlaw you know, some of
the most common firearms. Actually it is, you know, it
is probably the number one firearm brand overall that people
recognize in the United States, So it is that common.
So they filed this Tuesday, they filed, of course, a
(10:34):
a lawsuit challenging this law, and they just said, look,
the Supreme Court is already held that handguns are that
are uncommon use and they cannot be banned. And the
glocks are you know, probably the most common use at
least clock claims that in the United States. So you know,
it said the Constitution does not allow elitist politicians to
decide constitutionally protected guns and who may own what. Anyway,
(10:57):
that's where they're going to go, of course, go to
the Ninth Circuit. So the Night Circuit has been like
fifty to zero. I think I talked about on cases
except for one. So against against anything pro gun. They
just are not pro gun folks.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
All right.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
So the language this is what's kind of surprising. You know,
it appears to bar dozens of glock models, but it
says as well as in their words, not mine a
slew of pistols from other makers. And it says that
doesn't name them, but they said the guns from the
manufacturers like Smith and Wesson, Shadow Arms, Deia and FMK
(11:36):
firearms may also be implicated in this band. And then
I'm kind of interested in what Smith and Wesson's followed
to that. But anyway, so there you go. Here's some
other news. This kind of surprised me because of the
judges that did it. But Appeals Court upholds the New
York Ammo background check loss. So anytime you go to
(11:57):
buy any Ammo, you've got to have a background check.
Thank you buy it this week, you come in two
days later, and once and more, you're gonna have to
have a background check and.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Pay for it.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
It's not a freebie. This is in New York, and
this is in New York. So a unanimous three judge
panel for the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, So it's
not the InBank Court. But the first step, the three
judge panel on Wednesday just it upheld the lower court's
denial of the preliminary injunction against the New York law.
The panel reason that the background check requirement imposed only
(12:25):
a modest condition on the commercial sale of AMMO and
thus did not even implicate the Second Amendment. Now, the
lower court, which was just a single judge and it
was a county judge, it was a district county judge,
denied the initial request to block the law, and they
(12:46):
said that basically ammunition background check requirement is consistent with
the well recognized historical tradition of preventing dangerous individuals from
possessing weapons. So this is now we're going to be
the new thing that you're going to come up with.
And here's the thing that surprised me again on this one.
All three Appeals court judges were Trump appointees, and that
(13:08):
really like floored me.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Actually, I had to go check that out.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
So everybody's going to flee from New York and go
to the last states by their and come home.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Yeah, maybe, but in California that's probably against the law there,
all right, quickies, Supreme Court rejected hearing a pot and
guns case that came up. Uh did it just just
declined to take up the US versus Baxter. The guy
had had a gun TI he was pulled over, he
had pot and they said, hey, you're a fellon and uh,
(13:38):
you know you're now going to be a fella. And
so he's appealed it and went all the way up
to the Supreme Court and they said, yeah, we don't
we don't think you're ready to.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Do that yet.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
That's not what they said.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
They rejected it without comment and just ordered the lower
court to rehear that case. So all right, now here's
good news. One bit of good news if you have
been waiting when you're presser because of the government shutdown.
That they just the people that did that were declared
(14:07):
as unessential and so it's just all stopped. Well, this
came from Cam Evans because he had a personal conversation.
So the ATF hasn't been able to process those for
several weeks. Do the shuomers shutdown? But Cam Edwards spoke
with the American Suppressor Association president Knox Williams, and he
mentioned that he had been working with the White House
(14:27):
and administration to bring the examiners back and now they're
considered essential and starting Monday, they're going to start processing
your your personal pressor perfic prifect.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Good way to end that, jac let's jump to a break.
On the other side, we're going to talk to our
gun of the Week that is sponsored this week by
US Lost Yield. Kind of a neat Oneckly, you guys
are a little bit more into it than I thought of,
but we'll see that. On the other side, we're on
talking about broadcasting life from the studios of LPD Firearms Arranged.
We'll be back right after the break. Guys if you're
not at the uh what is it? No, King's rally?
(15:00):
That what's going on?
Speaker 4 (15:01):
King?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah? Or mayor Kinther?
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yeah. Everything that I thought that that was this was.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
About was because yeah, yeah, yeah, we need to prote
you know, have you ever well I'm on the air,
I protested, but have you ever got I mean, we
need to go back in the day. I did do
the march on Washington for the kicks of it back
in nineteen sixty nine, So I was wonderful.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
You got to buy a pass on that, right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, yeah, So it was uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Guys before we go to the gun on the weekend stuff.
I ordered my new plates this year for my car.
I'm a little bit concerned though, JC, is this is
thisn't concerning? This is what they sent me.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
No, No, it's really it's it's a beautiful color though. Hey,
party drink to that? Yeah, I mean it's a party tag. Baby.
How'd you get that?
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Eric?
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Well, you know what, I'm ashamed to say about it
on eBay. What we're looking at here. You really need
to watch on Facebook and YouTube you kind of get
the visual on this. But these are the party plates,
you know what. And I bought this because the young
kids around here, they don't know what the heck it is.
And if you were to force someone to wear the
to put on the display there on their car, they
would they would cry, you know, because you're you're calling
(16:11):
them out. But in the day, this is what this
is what we did, and they don't do that anymore.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
I don't know when they stop. But I'd seen a
few of those, but now people are saying that og
Now I'm being ostracized just because I'm a drunken driver.
So you only got that after five times? I think
something was it that longo three times five times used
to go to jail for about eight while.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Guys, the end of the week is up. Next is
brought to you by us lawsuit, our good friends over there.
This one, you know, Lipsey's is one of our distributors.
We get a lot of stuff from them. But any
of these distributors can do a special. So they can
get with Smith and Western or Glock or whoever it is,
and they can come up with an idea and if
you buy enough of them, they will they will make
them and lipsies, if you remember, it has been kind
(16:55):
of in that revolver realm in these specials and teamed
up with Smith and Wesson for what we've been saying
for a long time, a beautiful snub nose and thirty
two h and R Magnum. I wish it was in
three twenty seven Magnum. Yeah, listen to the crowd out
there on that, because half of them bottom after we
talked about him last time.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
The three twenty seven required a longer frame, so that, yeah,
they didn't do that.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
So but this one, guys, just came out within the
last month or so. It's another Smith and Wesson revolver
and it is a model I think six'. Ten it's
called Their Mountain.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
GUN i had NO i had no idea AND i
just the.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Verse about THIS. Jc what caliber? Is this chamber is ten?
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Millimeter so, wow it's like a forty one. Steroid it's,
sure it's like almost close to a forty one magnum
relatively close by one hundred.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
PERCENT i know my brother's chopping at the bit, Now,
mike you're, LISTENING i.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Hope, SO, jc what about a four inch?
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Barrel?
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Yeah, yeah it's like adjustable sights on. It it's really
beefy in. It it's very, nice, right and it's very.
Handsome of course it's A, Lipski so, yeah it's it's
it is. Great what a great mountain. Gun and now
WHAT i WHAT i failed to?
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Say WHAT i tell you guys too that also along
with this, special they've come out AND i don't know the,
model but it's in the same mountain gun. Family But
lipsey's also put out this in twenty two. Magnum, oh
so same. FRAME i think that's gonna be on THE k.
FRAME jc is.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
That that would be very, heavy if, yeah would be,
heavy but, YEAH k, frame it's most universal frame out,
there and even they're five hundred that they had out,
there and the BIG k. FRAMES i, mean because that's
the most comfortable six rounds and it's six rounds ten,
million yeah and ten. Millimeters.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
YEAH i went with the recoil, one.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
But it's got a big.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
SONG i wonder with the.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Recoil i'll tell you what it's, all what it's like
when you buy it for. Me i'll even let you shoot.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
It, well, yeah CAN i shoot it? First? No price
tags a little, steep but but not horrible Versus.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
No you're getting a CUSTOMED i, mean this is someone's
slapping something out.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
There these are just really top not.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Revolvers really, yep christ in just under twelve hundred, dollars that, right.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yep nine nine.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Nine look at what a classic twenty nine. IS i
think it's. NOTHING i thought that that was up, yeah
in that, range so maybe.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
MORE i didn't think. IT i didn't think it was
a bad.
Speaker 2 (19:13):

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Here that's good and of course we have the live studio,
audience which we expect to be even bigger next for next, week,
guys our next guest really needs no, introduction but for
those who may have. Forgotten in nineteen seventy, seven in
the small town of Very, Bill, arkansas there was a jewelry.
(20:37):
Store there's a jewelry, store and by many, accounts that
store was In bill's future because it was a family.
Business something, happened, though and instead of making fine, Jewelry
bill started producing fine. Pistols, today the Name Wilson combat
is synonymous with, quality, perfection and, service just like it
(20:57):
was forty eight years. Ago we're on to welcome for
the first time of this, Show Bill. Wilson how are you, doing?
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Sir how are you?
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Guys we are, Good we are a, good beautiful day
here and can't complain it's you, know it's amazing speaking with.
You and in the journey you and the company has
had talk a little bit about what what was those
early days like in getting things off the ground and
when when did you first realize that this is more
(21:29):
than just a.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
Hobby, WELL i mean we started off pretty, humble you,
know basically in the back ten by twenty of one
of my my my father's buildings that was next to
the jury, store and it was just you, know one man.
(21:49):
Shop you know at the, start and you, know we
the whole whole philosophy from day one was to deliver
a gun that was ready to shoot right out of the,
box you, know because the big names AND uh test
(22:09):
the nineteen eleven back, then you know a lot of
them had a tendency to ship out beautiful handguns that
were super, accurate but they didn't always function that, well
and if they, did if it was after like literally
a thousand rounds of break, in and so avowed from
day one the ship of product that you know was
(22:34):
functionally reliable and, hardy zoad and basically ready to just you,
know take it out of the box and load it
up and be able to trust. It so that's kind
of where we. Started and that seemed to work pretty
well because you, know we got got you, KNOW i
(22:54):
got swamped pretty quick and the amount of work that came,
in you, know due to that philosophy and the fact
that you, KNOW i was you, know finishing pretty well
at some of the matches and some of the guns
with the, matches uh and so BEFORE i had better
help and our, god but the name Of Dave, kley
(23:16):
which was just turned out to be a fantastic gunsmith
and you, know a good friend and you, know unfortunately
he's passed away, now but, uh you know we just
kind of grew from. There that's kind of the early early.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Days i've been following you since the beginning because we're
about the same age maybe like in that, area and,
uh BUT i just you, know you've started as a
watch maker and you just know how. Precision that's WHERE
i always thought, That, wow a watchmaker who is just
with minute precision with something has to be totally. Reliable
and then to switch over to, THAT i, said this
guy's got to be. Good AND i started following you
(23:51):
in the in the in the competitions with ever the
eight gun MAGAZINES i was ascribing to at that. TIME
i got, to you, know see kind of stuff you're.
Doing But, bill you would just have been you've been,
Great AND i still remember.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
You we looked a lot like.
Speaker 7 (24:05):
That we had dark, hair, bustashes and we're really, skinny and,
uh you, know time goes, on but that that's how
you're still burned in my, memory with the competition that
you were doing and the matches you're, winning and the
people you were hanging with.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
So, well, ANYWAY i just really, yeah you've been one
of my, uh one of my. Icons.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
Bill that's.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Cool but when when did you realize? That you, know
BECAUSE i, know in our little humble world here with
this store and this started in my garage, basically and
at some point you wake up and you're and you, say, well,
OKAY i guess this is my. Career this is this
is the. PATH i, mean how long did it take
you early on to realize, That, wow this isn't just
(24:46):
some little, hobby this is gonna be something that we're
going to grow and move forward.
Speaker 6 (24:50):
With, WELL i need to back all the way, up you.
KNOW i MEAN i can't remember WHEN, i you, know
was an interest and firearms and, honey you, KNOW i
mean this goes back to my earliest. MEMORIES i, mean
that's interested. IN i just happened to grow up in
a jewelry and watchmaking environment and was expected to continue that.
(25:13):
On but you, KNOW i kind, of you, know broke
her to deal with my. Dad you, know he he
basically just strong army and to go and watchmaking and
joey making. School AND i told, Him, Okay i'll go
to watch making jewelry making school if you will let
me put in a retail gun shop in that empty,
(25:35):
building this one door down from the, driver and you,
Know i'll i'll, Come i'll come home on weekends and
and take care of ordering and you, know different. Things
And i've got a guy THAT i know can run
it during the. Weekday and uh he failed for that,
deal you, know and, uh thanks basically to fast. Forward you,
(25:58):
know after a couple of, years you, know AFTER i
graduated from watching jewelry making, SCHOOL i worked on watches
probably for six months BEFORE i was spending all my
time in the little retail gun. Shop and you, know
THEN i got into competition, shooting and then you, know
decided THAT i needed a better, gun AND i wasn't
(26:20):
happy with WHAT i was getting from some other, againstmiths
and SO i, decided, well, shit IF i can make
these clock parts and work on watches and make jewelry
and stuff like, THIS i can surely work on the
big parts in the nineteen eleven. Handgun and so that's
kind of all started.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
It, Now, wow and we're talking To Bill, wilson kind
Of Wilson combat. Homebo What, bill what how has the business?
EVOLVED i, mean obviously technology has just taken, off but
when you look back on those early days versus. NOW i,
mean your your factory footprint now is. Breathtaking we were
watching some videos on. It oh, YEAH i mean how
(26:59):
has that changed and just the evolution of.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
That, WELL i, mean you, know if you looked at
The google maps of the main you, know plant and
and you know compound or, whatever you, know whatever you
want to call it or, whatever that's that's just part of.
It you. Know we've we've got another facility six miles
(27:21):
away except In arkansas that we manufactured, barrels and MY
r AND d department is. At and then down here
In texas we've got lehid to fans who've Got chip
McCormick custom you, know so we've got you, know we
just recently acquired a company Called Performance, engineering you, know
and so those three companies are down, here down here In.
(27:42):
Texas so we've actually got a fair amount of stuff going.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
On.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Wow you know one of the VIDEOS jc was pointing
out to, me AND i think it was an expansion
maybe a couple of years.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Ago SO i think it was like twenty, one you,
know was it was right AFTER Covid, ANYWAY i WAS
i was just so impressed with that expansion AND i
and even if you, don't aren't you interested in? Guns
if you're interested in kind of, machinery you ought to
just look at this. Video it's only like fourteen and
a half minutes. Long and the equipment that you have
produced and how this, works it's. ASTOUNDING i mean it's, Astounding,
bill and making your own barrels just from the finishing
(28:16):
little blanks and just everything that you, do and you
do everything using no foreign, parts no, mimes no you
just it's you, know it's really top, notch top.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Notch so it's REALLY i mean what's impressive is the
same quality and hands on and customer service and perfection
that you were able to do in a little shop
when it's a couple of. People they've successfully replicated that
in a big, operation which is just. TREMENDOUS i mean
usually you lose some of that as you go.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Forward, Yeah and my, family my brother was one of
the is a customer of.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Yours.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
Bill he purchased a one of the ars that you
made a while, back and it was featured in one
of the gun magazines as.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Well whether you holding it up the, AR i don't
remember which. One, well he's making a.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Lot this one was this one was actually featured in
the magazine if you can call. It, yeah we have
the pipod on. It, YEAH i don't remember it has
scope on. IT i don't remember exactly what was so
special about, it other it Was Wilson combat and my
brother bought it and he has just adored it ever.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Since and that's a great. SEGUE i, Mean, bill it's
not just about nineteen eleven's. ANYMORE i, mean you talk
for a second of your product line and the evolution of,
that AND i Mean Wilson combat is known for so
so much more. NOW i mean today's, youth you, know
knows you for the breath of your. Product and it's
not just nineteen. Eleven talk about some of the.
Speaker 6 (29:48):
Products, okay BEFORE i do, that, though you're comment, about you,
know the customer service haven't really changed from the early.
DAYS i just HAVE i got a throw out. There you,
know we, PEOPLE i, mean all through the, Years i've
been fortunate to bring board some you, know some great
people and we've just a team that just keeps getting,
(30:09):
larger you, Know and SO i got to give credit
to my to my, people you. KNOW i, mean that's
That's that's what Makes Wilson combat successful is is the
team we've built, up you, know and you know and
now we're we're extremely, dined you, know which is which
is really good in a in a market like we're in,
Now Because, God, Heaven heaven forbid if if we only
(30:33):
made black guns right, NOW i, mean you, know as
as you probably, know that market is extremely. Soft and
and the fact that we that we do, handguns and
we do, rifles and we do some shotguns, stuff and
we do ammo and and we do lots of accessories
for various. Guns and you know that that diverse, ucation you,
know sure sure makes it easier to navigate you, know
(30:57):
tough business, environments Right and in some of.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
The, COLLABORATIONS i, mean WHEN i was slipping through the web,
page it reminded me of some of the stuff that
we have on our, shelves the collaborations with with sig
on the three sixty five and The bread on the ninety.
TWOS i, mean some of those are some of the
most sod after items because they're done in conjunction with you.
Speaker 6 (31:19):
Guys do you got time for me to tell you
the quick bread a? Story, Absolutely i've always been a
Breada naughty two, fan AND i met the people from
The Air force that was doing the initial testing on
the gun back before it was adopted at The Second chance,
(31:41):
match and we became good. Friends and, basically you, KNOW
i was a plan of that platform before it became,
popular AND i got to collecting ninety. TWOS i picked
up an early one AND i, thought, well, shit this
is pretty. COOL i Think i'll just Click naughty Series
(32:01):
burretta's you, know how many can there? Be you, know?
THIRTY i don't. Know, well you, know somewhere WHEN i
was up to somewhere in the neighborhood are two hundred
different variants of not each dawned on, me says. MAN
i got TO i got to figure the way to
pay for the, fetish you, Know and so that's WHEN
i Contacted bretta and we got to talking about doing collaboration.
(32:23):
Stuff and it's been been a great, success you, know
in spite of all the constant employee turnover At. BRETTA i,
mean by the time you get you got a good
rapport with who you're working, for then they've moved on
and they you got to start over with a with
a new. Person so that's that's the difficult part of
working with With. Burretta but IT'S i don't THINK i
(32:46):
don't think it's just similar to the most most large farms.
Companies but, anyway you, KNOW i guess they had to
do something THAT i pay for my habit, there you,
know and and Now i've got you, Know i'm pretty
often at the largest clutch of bread and ninety twos
of any anybody in the. World you.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Know, wow that's THE i would never have known. THAT
i think most people probably wouldn't have known. That that's that's.
FASCINATING i know they are always anytime we come get,
something come to our, store they sell out. Quickly.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yeah and one of our employees had That brenda ninety.
Two it's the first ONE i got to. Handle so, yeah,
Yeah so, anyway it's great And i'm very fortunate because
the GUN i treasure the most IS i have one
of your first h, cbq's one of your close quarter
battles and the skib's that are out, there and it's
just my it's my.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Favorite so it's what a what a?
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Gun what a?
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Gun?
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Bill as YOU i, mean as things have, evolved AND
i know you you're in you, know like, us you've
been in this a while and you get to be
a little nostalgic on. Stuff what's your what's your take
on some of the new stuff now that is that is,
common the red, dots the the high capacity double stack
version of these nineteen. ELEVENS i, mean did you willingly
(33:55):
start to go down these paths or did you see
that's how the market is, going so we need to
do it.
Speaker 6 (34:02):
WELL i mean our first uh you, know sticking or you,
know tolling the water on the double stack. Stuff as you,
know we developed THE x nine series guns and you
know that started off as an idea in my head
that turned into some sketches on a, napkin to some
consultation with my Buddy Ken hackathorne to to you, know
(34:24):
finally building the gun and it's and it was started
out from day one as a you, know high capacity carry.
Gun you, know no thoughts about competition or any of
the what up things kind of gaudy stuff that people
like them on on them now with Huge magwell's and
all that. Stuff and you, KNOW i Mean i'm not
opposed to red you know. That you, Know i'm about
(34:49):
to turn seventy, two you, know and and my close
up by sight's not as great as it used to. Be.
Uh i'm still not going to put a red dot
on my carry, gun you. Know AND i every, day
i's goin of choice and we BOTH i, mean first
thing after we get our pants, ON i, mean we
put a gun on an ulster and we carry every single.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Day And i'm just carry probably about ten.
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Million you, KNOW i don't see an advantage for a
red dot when you, know statistics show that that most you,
know self defense encounters happen at well under fifteen yards
and and about fifteen yards and out is where the
red dot becomes an. Advance so you, know it's just
(35:35):
it's not it's not for, me But i'm not opposed to.
IT i won't have any of the, big, big old
Gaudy magwell's on my personal, guns not even not even
my range. Guns you, KNOW i just don't go for all.
That but you, know it's a customer one, way you,
Know but it doesn't mean that That i'm going to,
personally you, know use use.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
That you, know, right, Right so when you had mentioned
carrying every, day and we're on Our facebook, feed somebody had,
asked what Is Bill wilson carry every? Day what do
you go to if you can.
Speaker 6 (36:07):
Say, WELL i kind of baselate between two different, guns you,
know and AND i can't really why WHY i carry
one part of the time and WHY i carry the
other one part of the. TIME i just like both of.
Them maybe that's the, Answer But i'm my hip right.
Now i've got one of Our sentinel frame single. Stack
(36:28):
it's it's a little short sentinel frame that has a
flush eight round mag in it with a with a
four inch top end on it nine millimeter. Uh and
then the other GUN i carry is one of Our
sfax none, compacts but instead of having the three and
a quarter of top end on, It i've got a
four inch top end on, it which makes it easier to.
(36:49):
Shoot SINCE i SINCE i carry point of the, hip you,
know the short butt is easier to. Conceal and the
difference between a three and a quarter inch barrel on
a four inch, barrel it is not it doesn't order to,
conceal but it's easier to. Shoot so that's kind of you,
KNOW I i you, know IF i was of the
(37:10):
you know appendix, CROWD i, MEAN i understand why they like,
flies but you, Know i'd rather have the have the
sight ratio SINCE i carry of the.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Head.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Yeah, Absolutely. Bill, unfortunately we're getting close to the end of.
Time BUT i have one last question for. You what
would The Bill wilson of nineteen seventy seven say if
you handed him A next? NINE i, mean is it
just breathtaking versus what you were looking at back?
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Then?
Speaker 6 (37:38):
Oh, yeah that we you, Know i'm just gonna you,
know pat ourselves on the. Back we. Did we did
a great job with that, gun you, know and and
and as you well know from, history you, know it
came to market with hardly any changes from day. ONE
i mean there there was very very minor you Know jim,
too you know two point oh okay type of type
(37:59):
of stuff up with a lot of companies to do,
now you, know for their kind of vetting their, product you,
know in the. Marketplace. Uh you know That that's what
would impress me of IF i looked at it back,
then as is how well thought out everything is and
how will everything functions about about that? Platform?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Wonderful, well thank you so much for coming on the. Show,
certainly if there's there any time you you guys want
to announce up, there AND i want to talk reach.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Opportunity, well that's a great, thing AND i just hope
people watch that YouTube. Thing it's only fourteen. Minutes you'll
be just astounded at what his what how he produces
what he, does and how accurate it.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Is it's, amazing it's. Amazing, well thank, you, sir Mister
Bill wilson Of Wilson. Combat good. Guys we're going to

the guys that is associated with, Him Ken. HACKATHORNE i
had took a course from him back in the Seventies coupident. Show,
yeah back in the, day it was fun showing your.
Age it's, okay it was. Great age still got another forty.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Years left a big. Ed speaking of showing, guy when
we were on the break, HERE i brought to you
one of the little products we got in a great
stocking stuffers not too already to think about. This nebo
comes out with some really neat. Lights, yes not always
ones that you, know not everyone knocks out of the.
Park but this little thing that came is a LITTLE
i think they call it a puck. Light it's, magnetic
(40:11):
it has you can move the head on, it and
not bad on. Brightness.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Head it's very bright.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
And very, bright and then it also has like a
little lantern to, it kind of a LITTLE i mean
nothing you, know under twenty dollars stocking stuff for. Things
so that's it's not too early to.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
Start we're going to get these from somebody this, year maybe.
Speaker 1 (40:29):

no quick stories for.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
That there's a BIG i mean we talked about next.
Week it's another continuing to sue A glock for their.
Manufacture but there's their new. Plan we're getting cities individually
to try to bankrupt the. Country so instead of having
one state doing this or.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
The, other and that's, CRAZY i mean that has.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
Had anyone using converted it. Illegally uh, hey we're gonna get.
Together we're gonna get this. Money we're gonna and you
guys could file individual. Suits let let's, clock.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Which is, Crazy, jac BECAUSE i, Mean glock certainly did
not make their firearms with the intention of having some.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Thought according to the to the yeah where the, plaintiffs
they said that they have deliberately designed its handguns to
be readily convertible to a legal machine guns and marketed
those products in such a way that promoted a legal.
Conversion and that's just.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Crazy and that is to think if we allow, THAT i,
mean what talk about your slippery slope to get around?
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Placa so, right because they Said Hey, Placa Big, Caser,
no well you deliberately did.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
This that's.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
