Speaker 1 (00:00):
Deputy Larry Henderson stood and faced his God, which must
always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining
just as brightly as his brass.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Step forward. Now, Deputy, how shall I deal with you?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Have you've always turned the other cheek to my church?
Have you been true? The deputy squared his shoulders and said, no, Lord,
I guess I ain't, because those of us who carry
badges can't always be a saint. I've had to work
most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and
sometimes I've been violent because the streets are awful tough.

(00:42):
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills
just got too steep, and I.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Never passed a cry for help.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Though at times I shook with fear, and sometimes God
forgive me, I wept unmanly tears. I know I don't
don't deserve a place amongst the people here. They never
wanted me around except to calm their fears. If you've
ever a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be
so grand. I never expected or had too much. But

(01:14):
if you don't, I understand. There was silence all around
the throne where the saints had often trod as the
deputy waited quietly for the judgment from his God. Step forward, now,
Deputy Henderson, you've borne your burden, will come walk a
beat on Heaven Street. You've done your time in hell.

(01:39):
For the wife of Deputy Henderson, and his children, and
his foster children and friends, and his brothers and sisters
in law enforcement, the past week has been a living hell.
I'm not sure how we get to a place in
society that encourages revenge and no longer takes responsibility for
their actions. How are those amongst us who fail at

(02:01):
the most important task of a parent, raising the next
generation to love and respect each other, to have pride
in your community, to believe in the sanctity of life,
to respect the rules of law, to respect themselves. How
can one fail at this yet blame the protectors when
their children grows into a young adult, burdening society, terrorizing communities.

(02:25):
It is beyond comprehension that this failed parent somehow believed
it was okay to randomly take the life of another
the life of an innocent person, to somehow avenge the
death of his troubled son. It's hard to imagine. It's
hard to imagine that hell could be worse than this.
Yesterday I attended the funeral for Deputy Henderson in Cincinnati.

(02:48):
I estimated there probably were two to three thousand people
attending the funeral services held on the campus of Xavier University.
The officers attending from all over Ohio and surrounding states
all shared and the sorrow of the loss of a brother,
especially so senseless of a loss. For as much as
society thinks we've recovered from the riots of twenty twenty,

(03:10):
times like this bring to the forefront that disdain so
many continue to have towards law and order and towards
the officers who represent right from wrong. It's hard to
find hope and answers when life is so lost. So suddenly,
after the ceremony, we filed outside of the arena. Still
not much was being said, the TV cameras capturing it all,

(03:31):
the embraces, the tears, the realization in officer's eyes that
many will find themselves in harm's way the next time they.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Are called to duty.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
On that walk back to the car, oft in a distance,
I noticed someone with a sign position where every officer
had to walk by them. Like many, I immediately assumed
it was a protester with no heart, looking to shout
some anti police rhetoric in the worst of times. And
as I got closer to this middle aged, unassuming black

(04:02):
man holding the sign, I noticed random officers shaking his hand,
some even embracing him as they walked by. His sign
spanned a full sheet of white poster board, the message
handwritten in simple black marker. Yet his message arguably the
most powerful of the day, the sign simply reading we

(04:25):
love you. It was so simple, so majestic, so loud,
and in that moment, and in that moment of deep sorrow,
as four and five hundred police cruisers from cities and
townships and sheriff's departments and universities and state police, and
even one from NYPD, in that moment, there was hope

(04:49):
for mankind. Soon after, we all got into our cars
and began the long processional to the cemetery where Deputy
Henderson would be laid to rest. The streets line with
flags and signs and people from all walks of life
coming out of their businesses and homes to salute a
hero for the last time. With every corner returned. There

(05:10):
were more and more people, most if not all, having
never ever met the deputy, but knew what he represented.
They knew he stood as the line between good and
evil in their community. At times, the crowds were on
both sides and looking out windows, and somehow, somehow the
guy from the parking lot with the sign he was

(05:31):
there too, And in those moments good prevailed over evil.
The good people of that community stood up and said,
what happened to Deputy Henderson did not represent us, and
we are with you in the fight for justice. Like
so many others, in that moment, I was dwelling on
the sadness of the day, the natural reaction, but I

(05:55):
realized that the actions of that murderer last Friday had
actually in boldens society to get behind those who protect us,
to be vocal, to stand up who was playing right
out there in front of us. Good had once again
stomped down the evil cowering in their corners. As we
drove by, officers and deputies and troopers could again go

(06:18):
out and face the evils, knowing that they were not alone.
Despite how horrific that week had been, we had won.
Good was prevailing and now, Deputy Henderson, Sir, you can
now rest easy because as you can see, we got

(06:39):
it from here.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
On Target is next. Good afternoon, Walking on Target.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
We're broadcasting from the live students of LPD Firearms Range
and Training Facility located at nine to nine to nine
Bethel Road. I want to go right to my good friend,
Lieutenant Brian Steele.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Good morning, sir, Good morning.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
How are you, gentlemen?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
We are good. We're hanging in there. How about you.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah, I'm doing good. Listen great, great opening, Deputy Anderson.
He's definitely at Capsudy Lodge. Minds the boughts and prayers.
Thank you for honoring them.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, absolutely, it was.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I know you've been in many of these unfortunately, but
it was moving and it I mean it really is
as sad.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
As it was.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
It also it also gives you a little bit of
hope in society and stuff. So hopefully others walked away
with that as well.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Good will always fail over evil and the warrior class.
We will always honor each other, will celebrate each other's lives,
and what will honor you on your deathbed?

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
You know what I mean? You, like I said, you've
been to many of these. I'll tell you what, you know,
it's always tough. You're standing there amongst thousands of other
officers and deputies and troopers, and you know, obviously the
the amazing grace being played by the bagpipes and taps
being played.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I mean, all that that is tough.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
But I'll tell you what gets me every darn time
is the final call that they do out over the radio.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
That yeah, and hair in the back of my neck
just thinking about it.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And and the.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Reason you have that feeling is the same that I do.
I did an interview with Cincinnati News and I said,
did you know Debbie Henderson? And I said, I did
not know him. Most of the officers down there don't
know him, but we are him. And the reason I
say are you and I and w Henderson. We did
this job for a long time. We chewed the same dirt,
went on the same runs. So you you were part

(08:25):
of that family. And when you hear a mazing race
and you watch that casket getting lowered, you know that
that could have been your day. And that's what makes
our family so strong, our profession so strong, and why
we honor each other like we do.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Yeah, Jason, Yeah, It's just incredible, uh, that brotherhood. But
you're I mean, you're right, you are a part of him.
I mean every officer everywhere basis that you just never know.
And for people you know don't know this. This father
of a of a son that was killed during a
uh what a card jack ing and porting a fire

(08:58):
hour a police officer, Uh, you know, he just decided,
you know what, even though what a CINCINNTI police officer,
I'm just going to find the first first officer period.
So there was a you know, a county sheriff that
was directing traffic. Let me just run over him and
kill him. What he said in court just as.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Yeah, just run running. I mean he was the deputy
was directing traffic at a University of Cincinnati commencement. I mean,
fur this from you know, his mind. You're you're worried
about your your well being out there and stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
So just horrible.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
But but Brian is also you know, you talk about
the support from the community, and today later on in
the show, we're actually going to draw a name from
the hat of everyone who donated to the raffle for
one of our officers here locally who was let go
from Columbus Police wrongly, and so it just shows you

(09:53):
the support that our own community has for officers.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, listen, the majority of our community sport or police,
the majority of Ohio and support police, and we certainly
support officer Badger. Officer Badger violated a policy. It was
a small, minor violation of a policy of a video
that would have been public records.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Right.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
He did so because like you and I and all
good cops he he and good leaders, they believe in transparency.
These body warm cameras should be out in the public.
They should know exactly what dangers their officer space and
the good they're doing in the community. The community has
his back. You and I have his back. The FLP
has it back. Everybody that bulte of their tickets shows
that they have his back, and we appreciate it great.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Well, I really appreciate you calling in. I don't want
to put you on the spot. I don't know if
your wife happens to be listening today, Brian stuff, But
did you get the text I sent you just a
little bit ago.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
I did get the text. I thought, why, this is
why I'm always broke? But I did get the text,
and she is not listening, I hope, and I'll deny
ever having this conversation, but you definitely enticed.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Me perfect all right.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
I always get to hear from you, brother, Lieutenant Brian Steele,
fo he Lidge, number nine, President and the good friend
of the show in the vallads of us around the table. Guys, Wow,
what a week?

Speaker 6 (11:08):
What a week?

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Headward, you've been quiet.

Speaker 7 (11:11):
I'm speechless.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Well, you know you're you're going up next weekend right
to Cleveland for the police memorials. And you said something
during before we started, how many officers?

Speaker 7 (11:23):
I saw four officers nationwide so far killed within the
week by gunfire from people who just don't care. And
that's what stands out in this world anymore, is the
amount of people that just don't care. And it seems
like it's more than what you saw at the funeral,

(11:44):
but obviously that's not true. And we love we love
our job, we love our people, we love our citizens,
and we can't let these bad people that don't care
take away from society and make us look like heathens,
which we are not.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
And just like the gentleman you saw holding the sign,
we love you, we support you, yep.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
And move forward.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, And it's just the thing that's so troubling is
that the sanctity of life is not being taught to
this young generation.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
It's it's a video game.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
It's a big video game where they think they're going
to be reincarnators.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I don't know. I don't.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
I don't understand it. I don't I don't know how
we've gotten so far away from them.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
It's just like the shooting with the the three teenagers
here just this past week, playing with guns and they
shoot one and instead of dealing with it the right
way and trying to save him, and they taking dump
his body and then they make up a story about
it being a drive by shooting. It's just they nobody,
this element, I shouldn't say anybody, This element out there

(12:56):
just does not care about human life. The people of
the world, of this nation are shocked when you see
something like that, and you can't understand why that happens
and who happens to and why they do what they do.
But yet we go out there every day we stand

(13:17):
up for what's right. And then I love the majority,
and the majority of a stand behind us, but the
non majority make it look like we're the bad guys,
and that's got to end.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Yep, the majority need to continue to stand up.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
You know what was just a recent one where I
mean the kids who literally shot and killed.

Speaker 6 (13:35):
One was twelve years old, twelve fifty twelve, did you see?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
How did you?

Speaker 6 (13:39):
And they just shot? And I tell you what.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
And a good friend, Chuck Douglass had this on the
show this week. He was he went on a whole
thing about how these are being reported and I heard
it from my with my own ears, I mean twice
this week on news reports. One involving those four doug teenagers,
right one, I mean twelve, the teenager that one of
the news agencies locally reported as these kids were out

(14:06):
there and they you know, shot and killed some of
these kids, implying that they were in a sense, you know,
these is innocent kids. The other one which infuriated me
was was on the Deputy Henderson case and last week
they reported it as Deputy Henderson, Hamilton County Sheriff was
directing traffic and was hit and killed and they're going

(14:26):
to charge the driver, you know with you know, aggregator homicide.
Nothing exactly, nothing about the back end history on that
right purposely exactly that's our media, Yes it is. Unfortunately, guys,
let's jump to a break and we get back. I'm
gonna tee up the rest of the show, JC, I
know he has some news and we're gonna get to
much much more a gun of the week, and then

(14:47):
up later in the show, we're gonna get to our
good friend, Senator John Hughes says, calling in to check
in with us as well. We're on talking of broadcasting
live from the studios of LAPD Farms. Arrange we'll be
back after the break. You even know who this is?

Speaker 2 (15:02):
JC? I think Ella did. Ella is an old soul.

Speaker 8 (15:06):
Yes, remember mister Seeger No, Hughey, Lewis and the news
Come on. Ella knew that.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
That picture of my mind had been buried in the
sand with their heads going back and forth.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
I couldn't shake that.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Welcome back to on target.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I'm here's Eric jointed in the l EPD studios. Didn't
even get a chance to mention. I got JC to
my grandpa j C to my left.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
Yeah, look at that grandson on Monday. Yeah, I love
that birthday five five five.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
So cool, fifth month, fifth day and uh so Carson
is his name, and he already has his first wifele
I think I mentioned.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
That last Yeah, so that's good.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Perfect gem started to my right, is ed back from
his one week suspension. Good to have you back, Thank you,
thank you, yep, good to be back. Good to be seen, yes,
always good to be seen, guys, real quick. I wanted
to thank U Ken Cobert for coming on last week
and under the kind of a bad circumstance. He was
the FOP president of Queen's City down there, coming on
talking about Deputy Henderson, and thank him for last week.

(16:10):
Jc's gonna have the news up here shortly. We're going
to do the Spencer drawling at the end of the
show today. What else we got here? Oh, yes, Senator
Hughes said, calling in at twelve forty five. All that
and kind of the week in the middle of that, Jac,
what do you got Oh, there's a.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Lot of stuff as usual, good news, bad news, good news,
bad news. It kind of varies. Here's some good news.
We'll start off this way. There is an act of
going to go through Congress. I think it's going to
it's already come out of committee. It is the Veteran's
Second Amendment Protection Act. What a lot of people don't
realize is under the last administrations, they have just decided

(16:48):
that if you're a veteran and you need any help
going out your paperwork, you may have just lost your hand,
you know in Iraqa, but if you need any help
that automatically they were putting you on a list that
would block you from owning a firearm, so you couldn't
go into a store, your Nicks check would fail solely
because you're a veteran and someone you needed someone to

(17:09):
help you fill out the forms. And it is just
that was just one way I've talked about this, even
a couple of years ago, where Grazzley Center of Grazzley
said that he looked at it was pointed to his attention.
He found it ninety nine percent of the people on
this list were all veterans. And what does it strips
you of your Second Amendment right, So that's bad news.

(17:30):
And good news is it looks like it's going to
go up now able to be voted on by the
full House of Representatives.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
And I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
I wouldn't have a bipartisan support on this, but anyway,
thousands and thousands of veterans have been stripped, so they're
going to also go back and reinstate the right.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I was wondering that they had.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Part of the law is.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
There has to be an adjudication process, not somebody sitting
there with their bloss going hey, yeah, if they needed
help signing this, just go ahead and put them on
the list.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
So anyway, that's good news. Okay, that's good news.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Another bit of good news Oklahoma is Governor Stitt, Kevin Stitty,
as they say, he's a man of his word, because
he signed the Oklahoma find Act, which is the Firearms
Industry Non Discrimination Act. He spoke about it at shot
Show this year and he said, hey, if the legislature
gives it to me, I will sign it. They did,
and he did. And what this does is prohibits state

(18:24):
agencies and local governments from entering into contracts with corporations
that discriminate against the firearms industry. So if those are
supporting the anti gun or a gun confiscation, I mean,
you can't do business in Oklahoma. And that's that is
terrific for the public. So actual one on the bad side,

(18:46):
of course, he can name the states, but the ag
from New Jersey, the anti gun attorney General Matt Platkin
is pressuring businesses in the state to declare themselves gun
free zones, so if they're not posted, you can carry
into public places, gas stations.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Grocery stores.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
But he's encouraging all businesses to you put it out
there on the internet. You can print out your own
little form right there. You can apply for stickers to
go for your window for free from the state to
block people from carrying legally with a casil carry from
public places.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
Does he think the bad guys, I mean they think
the bad guys are going to keep him in the car, then.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
Yeah, that's probably they're going to see the side and
go And I guess I can't. This is a this
is a gun free zone. So anyway, it's just disgusting.
But that's what you get to expect out of New Jersey.
Two good news things, and this is great. Of course,
there are Midwestern states northern, both in South Dakota and
in Wyoming. This happened so South Dakota is opening a

(19:54):
state facility designed for shooting ranges, designed to hold two
hundred shooters at the same time, all kinds of training.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
For people of every age.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
And we'll include both indoor and outdoor ranges, and it's
on I like what they say. They mentioned this because
they said it's on target to open mid So yeah, yeah,
they did so. But Wyoming even did one better. They're
opening a new state of shooting sports complex.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Now.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
The state of Wyoming is dedicated to get this over
two thousand acres to this area and ten million dollars
and they also have matching funds of ten million dollars,
and so they're going to open and it's right to
think basically the Wyoming gateway to Yellowstone National Park. So
it's going to be a really really big deal. So

(20:44):
it's really nice to know that some of the states
are are stepping up for us. And then of course
you go back to the you know, the Washington State
of Washington, Supreme Court of the State uphill the States
magazine ban, which we knew it was going to happen.
The whole state. All the legislature in their corks seem
to be democratic. So but anyway, what they their rule

(21:05):
was that that the prohibition of magazines could hold more
than ten round does not violate the State of Washington
or the United States Constitution of Protection of the Right
to bear arms because.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
They are not arms.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
They consider magazines not to be arms, and if you
look at the historical they are. A powderhorn was considered
an arm back then, ball em anything was considered part
of the arm historically. But now they're going, h you
know what, it's not really an arm. So and it
just it's amazing. But so hopefully we'll get up to

(21:38):
the Supreme Court and they can take care of this,
but they deferred on doing this. Or yeah, New Jersey
and for Rhode Island, all right, Montana, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Let's hit the because of the time, let's hit the
bottom of the iron Ese when we come back, Let's
hit the Montana.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
And also let's talk about the SIG too.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
The sig something we missed last week or didn't have
a chance to get to, but it is of noteworthiness.
We're on Talko broadcasting Life from the studios of lped
Farms arranged.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
We'll be back after the news.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
You know for the five hundred and fourth show. You
think that you wouldn't talk into the music's done playing.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
I'm sorry you hit me in the ear and I
was going dump jeezy, hey really quick. We just had
a listener that was wanting to know what's going on
in Chicago. So I pulled up the stats for him,
and so far for the first ninety days of the
new mayor out there, we got one hundred and seventy
one shot that's good, shot and wounded, eight thirty eight
total shot, one thousand and nine and one hundred ninety

(22:36):
one homicides in his first session.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
As being mayors. Off to the bank.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
Yes, he's working just as hard as LORI life please yes.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Wow JC. A couple of pieces of news we didn't
get to last week.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Short when it's a little disappointing.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
It's been pointed out by our good friends at Buckeye Firearms,
the Hearing Protection Act and also the Short Act, which
will stop for us you owners of rifles today then
to come up. They come up with the name and
then they try to fit it in with words. But anyway,
the Hearing Protection Act, which are supported by the audiology
and the auto linal learning goologists and all those folks,

(23:11):
it would remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act of
nineteen thirty four.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
And what that would do is, you know, you can buy.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
A firearm and what a store and have a background check.
Suppressor's not even a weapon. It just doesn't it's not
like the James Bond movies. It just doesn't make it too.
You know, it's they're loud, but that does protect your hearing.
And they would like this to happen. Well, the Republicans
are in charge the Ways of met Committee, and the

(23:39):
chairman is actually a not just a Republican, but he's
a life member of the NRA, lifetime member.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
And as his name is, Jason Smith.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Well, if this dies here, if they don't do anything
about it, then it if it doesn't make it out,
then you can't even bring it to vote.

Speaker 6 (23:56):
And there'd be a slam dunk force if we could
have that.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
And it's about time we get these suppressors, which millions
of people have them out there, to get them off
of that. They're not a machine gun, which is kind
of what the National fire Arms Well, and Jesse.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
The other thing too, And I was talking to a
friend the other day. The thing that's frustrating is it's
great that President Trump is in there and he's doing
these executive orders and he's rolling back this and rolling
back that, but we need to codify this stuff in legislation,
and now's the time and It is infuriating when these
legislators who we put an office to get things done,

(24:30):
that they back off on stuff like this. That is,
there shouldn't be any argument with this. There's nothing. It's
a it's not a weapon, it's not a firearm. It's
on some national registry that causes people out to pay
two hundred dollars. Put it as a background check here
at the store and be done with it. There's no
reason not to. And the Republicans are holding it up.

(24:51):
And from what I heard, and I don't know this
for a fact, but there some of these Republicans are
are apprehensive to show support for guns because of our
upcoming elections. Upcoming elections, how about you do what we
put you in charge for. I mean, it's going to
be a little ridiculous here on this stuff. I mean,
why do we both vote them in the office if
they're not going to do what they say.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Jason Smith, I'm certain he said, hey, life member of
the NRA, he wanted all the votes of all the
millions of NRA folks out there. Probably not in the
state of the Missouri, but but that's one of the reasons.
And then it gets in there and.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
Especially on something like this, something simple, right, because we
stand all this stuff that all the progress we have
made stands to get reversed the next time there's a
democratic president.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
We need some of this stuff that's important needs to
be into law.

Speaker 6 (25:37):
And this needs. This needs to happen.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
Yet, unfortunately, if they don't get this kind of the
rough draft done Sunday tomorrow, on Mother's Day, then they
can't even get out of the Ways of Meanings Committee.
So you know, they have three choices. They can either
pass it through unchanged. They could either maybe change the
language a little bit. Some people said maybe they could

(25:59):
reduce the price. That's not what it's about. It's it's
it's just your freedom and it just protects your here, Okay,
that's it.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
The other one's a big one.

Speaker 6 (26:05):
We're going to talk.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
About, yeah, and hopefully have a little bit of time
here just SIG. So we've talked about the woes and
woes of the same p three twenty. But guess what
this is. This may really harm SIG for future litigation.
But they decided to change the user manual on the
three twenty just recently, so the twenty twenty five user manual,

(26:28):
and it's fifteenth revision, and it says, I'll just read
it verbatim when it talks about you know, the firear
this is right from the from the manual verbatim. So
the fire may not have a manual safety based on
decision you've made, because you can get them both with
it without. But it just says, in bald letters and

(26:50):
bigger font the most effective safety is to carry your
pistol without around in the chamber. Oh my god, and
to load around in the chamber only when ready to
use big bold letters. And if I was attorney, there's
only even half blind I could go, wait a minute,
would they do here? So none of the other ones
had that, So now I believe that's really kind of

(27:11):
opening the article I read. You guys have to cover this.
The guy said, well, what do other companies do? So
he looked at Glock, Smith and Wesson, CZ, Walther, HK, Springfield, Bretta, Ruger,
and here's what he found. That half of them actually
even encouraged carrying a loaded chamber. But and those are Glock,
Smith and Wesson, the MTP series, CZ's, the P ten.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
And the P nine manuals. That he looked at.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
The Walther very popular pdp uh. The hk's a VP
series stand out is not mentioning it and even some
suggesting that you do. But ones that said you should
carry it with an empty chamber were besides SIG. Now
Barretta of FN, Ruger and Springfield, all of them say, hey,

(28:00):
this is is uh you know what we would recommend.
So SIG isn't alone in this. But with all these
lawsuits and.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
To get ironic the time, yeah, yeah, I read something
the internet that said, too, you know, one way to
guarantee that you're SIG three twenty doesn't go off in
your holster you don't buy a one? Yeah you know
that that that seems to be a I mean, it's
just it, and I hate I don't want to be
a part of jumping on the bandwagon if something isn't true,

(28:26):
if there's truly not a problem. But that jac that
video that I sent you recently are that agency. They're
in a lobby. It is the uh the camera system
in the the police department. They're padding down a suspect
and an officer goes to pat down around his legs
and simply leans over. His hands are on the suspect's legs.
He leans over and you see a flash from his

(28:47):
holster and the officers all jump back. There's several officers
around him and around had fired when he leaned down.
I mean, there's something there. Whether it's a holster issue,
a gun issue, there is something there that has happened
multiple times.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
Like I said before, Why SIG is not taking and
standing up for this and saying we'll recall the gun,
We'll give you your money back, just to keep our
name clean and show that we understand.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
I think it would sink them. I think there's too
many out there. Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
I think.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I don't know. This is what he just read is
gonna sink him.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
That's what why they decided to do that. I would
have reduced the font and made it not I put
that down there.

Speaker 7 (29:27):
It's like I said, there's so many videos out there
that happened.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I know, I know, and I don't want it to
be true. I mean they're a great company. I mean,
I carry it hot off the press, off the press.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
Yes, we got to take and wish Eric a happy birthday.
Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday, dear.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
We missed it. By two days. But happy birthday.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
Oh yeah, I remember when I was fifty five last year. Yeah,
thank you congratulating.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Have you had a good week? Good a good week? Actually,
most of my weeks are good. JC Gun of the Week.
We've been teasing this for like five weeks now, but
it is the Gun of the Week sponsored by our
good friends over a River's Edge Cutlery. Speaking of which,
we got to go there. Have you been to a
new place?

Speaker 2 (30:16):
D I have none?

Speaker 1 (30:17):
It is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and they sell more than
just your average pocket and I and we're talking about
I bought all of our kitchen knives. There a really
really a neat place. If you haven't been there, you
need to go there. GC, what do you have?

Speaker 4 (30:29):
I have something that I would love to have. The
CZ makes just top quality far not ely that the
Cez shadow To series has won many international competitions just
on that gun. It's extremely accurate, extremely well made, have
some some wonderful features. Well, so they decided to come
up with compact gun called the Seazy shadow To Compact. Well,

(30:54):
it turned out that a lot of gun affectionados who
would love to carry it will not carry it and
one of them there's a couple of reasons, and one
of them is the fact that it does not have
a firing pin block and could be discharged.

Speaker 6 (31:08):
Oh, several of the reviewers said no, So what did
CZ do?

Speaker 4 (31:11):
Well, it took the Shadow to like I said, international competition.
Almost it's a target pistol. They came out with the
CZ Shadow to carry. The other one was just released
in twenty twenty three, the Compact. So they've made a
pretty quick change into getting this out there, and it
is basically a match carry gun. The differences between the compacts,

(31:34):
some people say, hey, I looks to say, why would
I what?

Speaker 6 (31:36):
You know, what's the big deal?

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Well, this is a double action, single action with and
it has a introduction safety dcocker so when you're done,
you can pull that down and it drops the hammer
to a safe level. It cannot fire because there is
a firing pin block inside. They change the sites more
for carry, so if you're looking at it has the
ridge of the flat semi canted surface, so you can

(32:02):
cock the gun one handed, you get wounded, you can
do it on your belt, do it do it here there.
The carry is sloped and wouldn't be able to do that.
And also the big thing is that it's ready for
optics and it takes the shield RMR S series of
hol A sun They'll just pop right in there without plates,
I mean, so you can lock them down. That's excellent.

(32:23):
One of the things that makes us super accurate is
that it has internal rails. On most guns. You see,
the slide fits over the frame and slides back. The
slide fits inside of the frame, so you have a
full length contact of the entire frame, which makes it
smoother but also tighter, and it also lowers the site radius.

(32:47):
The word blocking the four the bar access is much lower,
so because the site fits lower into the frame, it
is just the be's knees. Comes with two fifteen round magazines.
It is heavier, lays thirty ounces because it has the
aluminum the TE seventy seventy alloy on the frame. They've

(33:08):
increased the trigger guard, not so much over the Compact
but over the other CZS grips five to ten. But
the safety to Cocker and the actors saying, you watch
people shoot this thing, even rapid fire, it is amazing,
so much so that one of the guys said, I
never buy the guns that we test. He goes, I'm
keeping this one. He said, it's it's amazing. So it's
a great, great gun. It's not cheap. But the best

(33:32):
shot in the world is on a CZ's team. He's
won more international competitions and two hundred and fifty top
range gun contests and competitions, and he said this is
he said, this is the real deal. So anyway, it's
called the CZ Shadow to carry. Different from the Compact again,
as I mentioned, has a decocker firing pin block and.

Speaker 6 (33:54):
It is ready for optics.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Think of that they make this.

Speaker 6 (34:02):
I know, Hey, they're coming out with ten Oh really yeah?

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Cool?

Speaker 6 (34:06):
Cool, No, it's a it's a model any something. I
don't know it, but they said they're coming up with.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Because that's up to a break and we get on
the other side, we hope to catch up to Senator Houstead,
who jumps on and gives us an update on what's
going on in DC. We're on Target broadcasting life in
the studios of LAPD Farms Range. We'll be back after

Speaker 1 (34:32):
That's why I'm in my suit. Ye, it's my birthday suit, Ed,
did you notice that?

Speaker 7 (34:36):
Yeah, you're always in the same thing.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Uh huh, I didn't know it was loaded with Welcome

Speaker 2 (34:57):
What are they saying? Something pretty clear?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
Happy birthday?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Good good.

Speaker 7 (35:02):
We got some people complaining about the I guess when
we passed the firearm around YouTube cut us off.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
It did. That's what you're saying. It goes you know what.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
But if you want to get your drugs, go on YouTube.
But you can find the latest place and show you how.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
To use them. A bunch of idiots.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
See lots of YouTube stuff where people are here. I mean,
it's out there.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Everywhere that I know.

Speaker 6 (35:29):
I know, I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yep, jac let's go while we're waiting for the senator call,
we're going to do something. We're going to have you
found all the tickets that we've done. You just drop
those two Eric, I seem well, guys, scratch that I
hear the senator is on.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Senator John you said you're on with us. Welcome back.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
To be with you. I know apparently YouTube apparently YouTube
respect the First Amendment but not the second.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Huh yeh yes, yeah. Can you do anything about that?
Is there anything you can do in the in DC
to help with that? Uh?

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Maybe, well let's talk about it. Let's talk about it
after the show.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
It is good, so good to hear your voice. You know.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
I couldn't believe this, and I think I was talking
to someone this week.

Speaker 7 (36:20):
You.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
I don't think you've called into the show since you've
been Senator Houston.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
I'm not I've been so busy, like literally, we've been.
I got there. I don't know if you heard this story,
but like I didn't find out I was going to
be appointed until the Thursday before the Monday inauguration of
the president and vice president. So I found on a Thursday.
It was announced on a Friday. I got on a
plane with my family to Washington for the presidential inauguration.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
At six a m.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Saturday morning. I get there, They're like, hey, we need
you to be inaugurated on Tuesday because we don't have
enough votes to confirm the Defense Secretary. I'm like, okay,
here I go. When I took the oath of office,
I didn't have a phone number, an email address, a chair,
a piece of paper, nothing. I was just like, there
I am. I'm now a senator voting, but I didn't

(37:07):
even have an office to really get settled.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Wow, that's incredible. So you're breaking up a little bit there, Senator.
So has it been a whirlwind the whole time?

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Yeah? But I'm getting settled now. We've now got.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
A office space.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
The federal government finally turned all my phones on. It
only took them like three months to do that.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
And then.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
But we're settled. And I got my first piece of
legislation passed yesterday and I was at the White House
with President Trump and he signed it. And it's a
it's a bill making government smaller. We repealed some Biden
eraror regulations on appliances heating cooling systems that it was
going to make the cost of the appliances you put

(37:53):
in your kitchen more expensive, and we eliminated those regulations.
And I was there at the White yesterday with President
Trump doing that. So that was kind of a you know,
kind of cool. On the Hunter's Day that I was there,
I passed a passed this resolution repealing those regulations. President
signed it yesterday. So I've been busy.

Speaker 6 (38:13):
Congratulations should be with you today.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
That's great, and you know what I mean. I'm fortunate.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
I'm fortunate to be on a call that that you're
on oftentimes each week and recently, I don't know if
a lot of people knew this, but you recently received
the endorsement of President Trump for Senator for the next election,
and just yesterday, if I'm getting this correctly, the Ohio
GOP endorsed you.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Is that Is that a true statement?

Speaker 4 (38:37):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Absolutely, that'll allow us to you know, the President's endorsement.
It was just great.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I was I wasn't.

Speaker 5 (38:43):
He told me he was going to endorse me when
I got uppointed, but I didn't know when it would come.
And he just, you know, all of a sudden, I
see my phone light up, A says White House switchboard.
I'm like, oh, I better take this.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
President President was on the other line.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
Yes, He's like, hey, I just wanted you to know.
Are you complete and total endorsement. I'm going to be
posting it.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
No.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
I was like, thanks, mister president, that's great, and so
that happened. And then the Ohio Republican Party, which is
as you know these this is the grassroots people that
get elected, you know, at the local level, who overwhelmingly
endorsed me yesterday.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
So I'm proud to.

Speaker 5 (39:21):
Serve, honored and humbled, and I'm working my tail off
to try to advance the American First, America First agenda and.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
That and that that's great, that is great news. Tell
us though, I mean why this is so important. I mean,
we feel like a lot of us feel like we
just came off on an election. Why is it important
to have the backing of the president and the GOP
going forward.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Yeah, because the Ohio Senate seat, the one that I'm in,
is the number three target for Democrats in the country.
Susan Collins and Maine is number one. Tom Tillis in
North Carolina is number two, and I'm number three. And
they have to win the seats to to make Chuck
Schuber the Senate majority leader rather than minority leader. And

(40:06):
that's so this is it's the big game.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Target.

Speaker 7 (40:13):
What's that Chuck Schumer is a minority in my.

Speaker 5 (40:16):
Life, Well, he wanted to just send it again, and
we gotta we gotta work hard to make sure that
I win. So he's he remains, he remains on the
the minority leader and not the majority leader exactly.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
They go, well, we we really appreciate it's it's good
to hear your voice.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
We appreciate you calling in.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
And uh you you're gonna have to stop in sometime
and uh, you know, brush up on your your shooting
like the good old days to see.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
I know it's I just don't get as much time.
But you're not far from me.

Speaker 6 (40:51):
At L A p D.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
And so I'll get over there and and uh make
sure that my skills are still intact.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
There go. Hey.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
We did have one question come in from a listener here,
and it says, when you get the call from the
president on your phone, does it say like Trump or
does it say you know d Trump?

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Or how does that come through on your phone?

Speaker 5 (41:11):
So it literally like when he calls from the White House,
it says white House switchboard. He has they have somebody
who calls you and then they connect you to the president.
But he has He did give me his mobile phone number,
and he says I can call him anytime, but I
don't do that right, It has to be it has

(41:33):
to be a pretty special reason to call him directly.
I don't He's got other things to do than to
hear me. But but we're doing some good stuff that's
good for the country. Like we we're uh, we're really
trying to because I always say, look, you can't do
maide in America without made in Ohio because we're a
place that is the manufacturing capital of the Midwest. And

(41:54):
everything from cars, trucks, airplanes, you know, you name it,
we make this stuff. We are getting you made in
America that made Ohio. And so I'm really trying to
help the President achieve those goals for restoring American prosperity
in the America First Agenda. And yeah, but that's when
you see it's funny.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
I didn't.

Speaker 5 (42:16):
I didn't tell you the whole part of it. The
first time it came up, I was trying to get
off of another video call that I was on and
it said White House switchboard and it went to voicemail
and and I was like, oh, I gotta get off
the car. And then and then it came up again
and I was like, Okay, I very I gotta get off.
I gotta go.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
That's funny. That's that's funny. Well, I thought it.

Speaker 5 (42:36):
Might have been JD.

Speaker 4 (42:37):
Vance.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
I didn't.

Speaker 5 (42:38):
I didn't think it would I didn't necessarily think it
was going to be President Trump.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
So you never know, right, you got to make sure
you take him. Well, it's so good to hear you.
Thanks so much for everything you did for Ohio as
lieutenant governor, and for so much that you're doing now
to represent us on the national level. So stop buying
and see us anytime, call us anytime. So good to
hear from you. Beautiful day, great, Thank you so much,
Senator John Houston. Always good to hear his voice and

(43:05):
to see him. Guys, in the remaining one minute, it
is time to draw.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Now.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
Look, we're gonna draw the name for this Smith and
Wesson FPC. We did this raffle on behalf of our
good friend Spencer, who is hoping to get his job
back with CPD here soon. I'm only gonna say the
first name because I'm not going to give the whole
name here. But if you hear this, then you know
you're going to be getting a call.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
You want to draw it? Ed, all right, you draw it.
I never get to do this, all right? Do it?
If you draw your own name, Mat, I'm putting it
back in.

Speaker 7 (43:32):
Really yeah, don't tell anybody there, you.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Go, all right?

Speaker 1 (43:37):
The winner, The winner, it says it is an FOP member.
FOP member, so expect to get a call here shortly.
Thank you so much for everyone who donated to this,
and Spencer and his family are really really appreciative of it. Guys,
thanks for being the last week with us. Next week,
