Speaker 1 (00:01):
Officer Philip Wagner stood and faced his God, which must
always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining
just as brightly as his brass. Step forward. Now, Officer,
how shall I deal with you? Have you've always turned
the other cheek to my church? Have you always been true?
(00:22):
The officer squared his shoulders and said, no, Lord, I
guess I ain't, because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've
been violent because the streets are awful tough. But I
never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep, though
(00:43):
I worked a lot of overtime when the bills just
got too steep, and I never passed a cry for help.
Though at times I shook with fear, and sometimes God,
forgive me, I've went and wept unmanly tears. I know
I don't deserve a place among the people here. They
never wanted me around except to calm their fear. If
(01:04):
you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be
so grand. I never expected or had too much, But
if you don't, I'll understand. There was silence all around
the throne, where the saints allfun troud as the officer
waited quietly for the judgment of his God. Step forward, now,
Officer Wagner, you've borne your burdens. Well, come walk a
(01:28):
beat on Heaven Street. You've done your time in hell.
I am sick and damn tired of reading this every month,
because our moral compass in this society sucks. If you
are a thug wanting to stand up to law and order,
for damn sakes, be a man, or should I say,
(01:49):
identify as a man, or whatever the hell people do
these days. You see, though, we've allowed these paper tigers
to stew in mom's basement, throwing out insults online, harassing
the public until which time they get up enough courage
to do some cowardly act which, because they are weak,
ends up in their own demise. That good for nothing
(02:12):
punk who shot three officers this week in Lorain, Ohio,
deserved more than he got. A simple death by a
responding officer was just too damn easy. He deserved much
much more, But we can only hope he's getting now
what he deserved. So this year, after the first senseless
(02:33):
death of a deputy in Hamilton County, the one who
was run over by a parent of a thug criminal.
It saddened us all in Morrow County when Deputy Schaer
was murdered by a slob who is now the responsibility
of our state for the rest of his life. When
that deputy was murdered, we all agreed that it just
did not have to be. But this week, this week,
(02:56):
the death of Officer Wagner while he was parked eating
lunch with the fellow officer is outrageous, inexcusable. We have
allowed these dregs on society to grow in their parents' basement,
to flourish online, to have the seeds of politicians in
the media planted that encourages discord through violence. We have
(03:19):
no one to blame for this mess but our own
lack of strength to stand up when we allowed it
to happen these past five years, allowed it to happen
in the name of diversity or inclusion, or whatever the
hector phrase is of the day. But the day has
come where we say no more, No more to the
judges who put criminals back amongst us, only to commit
(03:40):
crimes again and again, No more to the politicians who
tell us. This is the new normal, because we have
to be accepting no more to the parents raising a
generation destined for failure. I do not know the details
around the suspect who killed Officer Wagner, but be assured
they were probably one signs or friends who will come
(04:01):
out and say he talked about shooting officers for some time,
but maybe we didn't think he'd do it. I do know, though,
we have an opportunity to continue to turn this around,
but it will take all of us if we want
to bring back the moral compass that at times seems
to continue to point in the wrong direction. Today, though,
we must pray for the family of Officer Wagner and
(04:24):
the families of those other officers senselessly shot this week,
do your part to point those misguided in our community
in the right direction. Support law and order, and make
sure you are bringing up the next generation to be
willing to fight for our God, our country in our community.
On Target is next, Live from the Studios Training Facility nine. Derek,
(04:57):
we do hey, Eric, sound like a robot.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Thank your equipment over there?
Speaker 1 (05:03):
And no it sounds better now better all right?
Speaker 3 (05:07):
He lost the strain of thought.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Thank you, No, No, let me go, let me get
that back. Yeah, Ed, you know this is a weekly
show like we do it every Saturday, pretty much the same.
I say, hey, my buddy ed JC.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
But you didn't say that last Saturday.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Hey, you didn't say that last Saturday.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
A weekly show.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yeah, because last Saturday I was by myself, had.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
No j C that they're either on vacation or its
laying down sleeping in a bed. I did.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Oh, I made I made fun of you. Don't get
me wrong. Guys. We are the owners of LAPD Firearms
Ranging Training Facility, interactive in law enforcement, but for one
hour on Saturdays, we put together a group of firearm
experts to discuss new products in the market, training tips,
and oftentimes political topics surrounding the Second Amendment. Our commitment, though,
has always been to bring you facts about our industry
and help listeners with end customers with safe, responsible ownership
(06:00):
of firearms. Guys, I want to start by thanking, thanking
the crew who jumped on with me last week. We
started out with Stephen Gatowski from The Reload. Always good
to have him on.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Sorry, JC, That's who I got most of a lot
of my news from, not most, but a lot.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yeah, yeaholutely, so so thankful to have him on. And
then Dan from from A Defense jumped on with us
and talked about their line epistles that were carry now,
so that was super neat. And then of course ended
up the day with my buddy Luis, our buddy Louise
and stuff and talking about some of the things that
that we need to stand and watch for actually as
(06:39):
we go on right now. So all that I'm thankful
for for last week. This week, though, I'm really excited
because we often talked about used firearms and we put
used firearms out here that we have for sale and
so forth. But it's been a while JC since we
talked about having to, uh to what do you what
do you have to do to evaluate that used fireum,
(07:01):
if it's something you want to go to the store
and look at. And so today twelve thirty, we're going
to talk about that, talk about what to look for
and revolver that's used, or a semiato that used, or
a shotgun or a rifle, some of those things to
look for. And then at the end of the show,
I'm gonna tease it, Ed, I didn't even tell you this.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Ed.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
At the end of the show, there's gonna be a
little bit of an announcement here at this store that
is going to be worth waiting for. That today, that
is today, at the end of the show, probably about
forty six minutes.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
So I should stick around after the show.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
You should stick around at least for the whole show.
So of course before that, Jac has been bursting with
news for three weeks. I don't even if I'm gonna
get any other words in because I know JC, you
have just been sitting back. We've been texting and everything.
Great to see you here, though.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
It's amazing how much stuff is really out there. But
I'm still sickened by what happened to the Areno. I mean,
he has got three kids, little kids, he's just thirty
five years old. The guy by the way, he said
that as far as what they pulled up and printed out,
he this officer gave you a ticket because he's doing
wheel he's in a motorcycle, went over the centerline, hit
another motorcycle and knocked his buddy off of that. So
(08:07):
I got a ticket for it.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
But years ago, right, all years ago. But I don't know.
I wonder if that was a coincidence. I can't imagine
that he drummed that up from years ago.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Can imagine him doing what he did so well, you.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Know, he would live in his mom's basement. You know,
it's just anyway, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
And then we have politicians that are out there actually
saying I mean these are like Center saying take up
arms against ice. I mean there's a federal officer. I
mean they say that.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
That's how can you be these politicians playing in the seats,
I mean they have.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
How they get them charged? Yeah, they don't. I mean
if somebody said that about the president or one of them,
over them and arrest.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Democrats are just in the toilet. I mean there used
to be a respectable party and now it's really well,
here's go.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
I mean they were and and and it's all in
the name of inclusion and acceptance. We have to accept
these people who live in mom's basement, who you know,
troll people and ultimately come out and do crazy stuff.
I mean, it's just it's ridiculous. I don't know, I
don't know where it goes.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
I may, you know, I may get strike struck down
from God for saying this, But I'm glad the solb
is dead.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
I don't think it was enough.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Oh I don't. I don't disagree. You just suffered a
little bit, but hopefully is now glad. I'm glad they
killed him. I'm I'm I'd rather see that than watch
him sit in a trial and then talk about him
and him try to look like I didn't mean to
do it or I'm glad I did it.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Either way, it was a great picture of him, right.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah, he was such a boy. He was just misunderstood.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
All right, So guys listen, Thank our sponsors, us lost
Hild saw those guys this morning. Always get to see them. Jackson, Negress, windows,
Black Ween, shooting, Center of Rivers, that's cutlery and all
and LAPD training facility all make the show possible each week.
Joining me today, as you heard, I got JC to
my left. Glad you're back. Everything's flowing, Jaz, good to
be good. Yeah, big Ed, good to see you back.
(10:01):
And you look at more of those fishing pictures though
on the commercial. Let's see what else. If you miss
the show, you can always catch the podcast extend to
be tv dot com. It's on iHeartRadio, speaker, any place
you get your podcast. We are out there. JC.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeahwise Yeah, there's just so much stuff that's that's happening.
You would think things will become once our good president
is in. But there's a lot of positive things that
they're working for. Not all of those have come to
fruition yet, but we're happy to know now at least
millions of people who have the arm braces and that's
been settled that it's it's legal to do that. Another
thing that they're not doing is having the ATF enforce
(10:39):
some of the rules that the previous administration, for example,
that anybody who wants to sell a gun should be
an f FL, so that when they change that making
a living to making a profit. So they said, no, no,
we're not going to go after anybody at a gun
show who's got a table to sell stuff and say
(11:00):
that everybody in the world's got to have an FFL
just if they even think about selling firearms. So we're
glad that least things like that are happening. But there's
still plenty of plenty of stuff. Oh, we had a
good We have several news from out of California. Why
is that a California. We're in Ohio with some difference. Well,
we know the gavenuws is going to be one of
the presidential candidates coming up, and we'll we only have
three and a half more great years with our current
(11:22):
president and this will be happening. So here's this is
kind of surprising for some people, but the Ninth Circuit Court,
which covers the Western United States and Hawaii, they actually
just came down on Thursday, a three judge panel from
the US Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court's ruling
against the State of California, striking down their background check
(11:45):
requirement for the purchase of each and every purchase of ammunition.
Think about that, this has been going on for ten years.
Every single time. Hey, I ran out of Ama for
the twenty two I'm going to get some more tomorrow. Sorry,
whole background check again, and not just the Knicks check,
but the State of California check. And finally, finally, it
takes a long time to well ten years, uh to
(12:07):
get this right. But now basically their judge, the Sandra
Akuda just said, Look, they said, you know, prohibiting residents
from you know, buy ammunition without a background check, from
ordering the ammunition online. If you order on line, it's
got to be ship to California. Then you have to
have the background check. And if you bring any ammunition
(12:28):
in from another state and they catch you with that,
oh hoo, yeah, there you are, it's against the law.
And they said, look, this has got to go. It
infringes on the Second Amendment and infringes on the fundamental
right to keep and bear arms. So there you go.
So they said, we'll get rid of it. But of
course California Attorney General is likely to file a petition
(12:49):
for the full court. That was a three judge panel,
so though, but there will probably appeal it even even further.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
So has it is it like in play right now?
They have to wait for the appeal.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
No, I mean right now, so he may appeal it.
But they said, no, you can't do this.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
This is this really So you can go to a
store now and buy about it and it a.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Better stock up because we'll see if they're going to
appeal this. Sou and this this California Attorney General Rob
Bonta also this week, which some people go, hey, what's
the deal with this? He published on well just actually
on the eighteenth of this month, he published an official
state report on certifying that micro stamping is now viable.
(13:31):
Micro Stamping is when a firing pin puts an imprint
on a cartridge case that says that, oh, this is
the gun that you know that fired it. Well, bottom
line is they passed this eighteen years ago. In two
thousand and one, California passed an unsafe handgun. Actual unsafe
you think unsafe for California means that any gun that
(13:54):
is a semi automatic that it doesn't it has to
have a manual safety, a loaded chamber indicator, a magazine
disconnect to be a safegun, and micro stamping technology. Well,
because to this date there has not been a firearm
capable of micro stamping sold in that state. In fact,
no commercial gun produced anywhere in the world has implemented
(14:17):
micro stamping. But this has been sitting out there, so
it got kind of a start on it by their
former Attorney General Kamala Harris, who back in thirteen said, oh, no,
I think it is viable, and not knowing probably which
end of the gun the bully comes out, but anyway,
she said, I think it's viable now. So from twenty
(14:39):
and thirteen, no new models have been offered in the
whole state of California of any firearm. So the glocks
that they have are Gen three's. They can't have at
Gen four, Gen five. So when this was past, this
is what they have. So why is this important, Well,
because it's just been sitting there and they said it's
been dormant. Because they said, if there's not guns available,
(15:01):
how can this be viable. So what's the purpose of
this report. Well, because they passed another law saying, hey, okay,
so we didn't we didn't get it that way, so
let's let's do this. So instead of appealing a decision
on this the fact of the micro stamping because she
said it was viable, instead of appealing it, they just
(15:22):
sat there with it. And now the law, the law
the Senate passed a bill out there is called four
fifty five that requires the Attorney General now to make
two determinations to say that micro stamping is viable. The
first one is with this report. That's why this report
is important because he said, here's what they did. This
is just kills me. That's part of it. The step
(15:43):
one the law passed said you must the Attorney General
must engage in investigation to determine the technological viability of
micro stamping components. Of producing micro stamp on a spent cartridge.
So what they do They took some pieces, put it together.
They used two firearms, and they fired ten rounds out
of each one, and they were mostly identifiable. As a
(16:04):
matter of fact, the report actually says just you know,
how accurate is this? Well, it said this, this provided
sufficient information to allown examiner to narrow the list of
possible registered firearms. To narrow the list.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
But that's the first step.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Second step is he's got to find a company that
can produce firing pins that have this capability. Once that's
done or the firing done, and they present that, then
when this happens, all licensed dealers in the state of
California would be prohibited from selling any new or used
firearm unless it was microstamped available pistol. So if it
(16:41):
has it has a firing pendol fit in and do that,
all of the new of the used guns getting sold
would have to have that. All new guns once that happens,
that's you know, all the other stage watchings. But anyway,
that's kind of crazy case.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Let's jump to a break. When we come back on
the other side, we'll get to some SIG news. Yeah,
and gunn of the WEE. We're on talking broadcasting live
from the studios of LAPD Farms Range. We'll be back
right after the break.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
The Air Force personnel will be carrying M fours for
the time being. So the Air Force Command just said,
effective on the day after she was killed on July
twenty first, they will remove the barrels apartment barrels will
remove the pistols from service until further notice. And that's
a real tragedy. But now we're hitting at the heart
of things. This is what they designed it for and
(17:31):
now it's.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
Right it is. We obviously got to wait till the
results are in from this, and you don't want to
jump to any conclusions, but it is. It is newsworthy
because it continues to pop up. And I don't know,
I mean, I don't I don't want it to be true.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
No, but why don't they you know, they have other
firearms that are just incredibly excellent. Hath that zero problem?
Why don't they just I mean ditches? I guess the
Air Force is perched one hundred and twenty five thousand
of these of these pistols, So wow, yeah, there's a
lot out there.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Well, JC, before we go to the news here. We
got a couple of minutes left. Two things I wanted
to get to do. You remember, and I don't know
if if you were around when we were talking about this,
but Ohio Senator Craig was going to come on our show.
I remember we talked about that. He if you don't
know him, he is a Democrat. But he proposed some
gun laws and some of them weren't horrible, and so
(18:23):
we reached out to his office and very cordially invited
him to come on the show because some of them
were not so good. But I figured a good conversation.
We all want the same thing, right, crime off the streets.
Initially they jumped at it. Yeah, absolutely, we'd love to
have that, And then a week went by, and then
they couldn't make it, and then two weeks went by
and now all of a sudden, he's busy for like
six weeks, and our last communication with them, I said, look,
(18:47):
any time and place, I'll record it for the show whatever,
and they've gone silent. So it just just goes to show. Yeah,
you know, if you're sincere about these things, why not
come and have a good conversation. We've done it before.
I mean, but it's just it makes you wonder about
the sincerity of these politicians who proposed these very anti
(19:08):
gun things. And when you call them out or want
to have a discussion about it, you know, they go
back to their basement.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
I rearrange my slack drawer so I can't make it right.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
One of the quick things JC, and I knew you
had this in your story there, Senator Murphy. That was
a tax stamp. So we're all excited about is the
tax stamp of two hundred dollars going to zero on
a bunch of items the Senator Murphy, Democrat has had made.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Us he is probably the biggest anti gun person in
the entire Senate of just amazing. So what he did
is he tried to sneak something in. So there's a
Military Construction, Veterans Affair and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, okay,
and that's what it's there. He snuck in an amendment
which would raise the tax from zero because now zero
(19:53):
dollars to four seven hundred and nine dollars for every
NFA island. And he named it mostly it's at suppressors.
I mean, you buy six in our expresser and now
you're gonna have to.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Pay a This will save lives, right, Jason, Right.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
He just said he goes by Heller, Come hell or
high water, We're gonna save lives. And I actually don't
know how few. And it's gotta be very few people
are killed each year with guns that have suppressus on them,
and it would be be miniscule. But anyway, trying to
sneak it in the thing is even though it didn't pass,
and it's you know that it can be rejected if
the Democrats get in. I mean, this is sitting there
(20:27):
in their back pocket. Hey, that's a great idea. That's
just five thousand dollars on everything it's in there. And
importance is getting suppressors out, getting the Hearing Protection Act,
which would remove them from the NFA item and that because.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
We said that JC last night. You know, it's great
that that two hundred dollars went to zero, but in
the fine print it didn't go away. It got reduced
to zero, meaning there's still a fee, a fee of
zero right now.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
But you still have to do fingerprints, you go through
the background, you have to do all that stuff and
turn it in. You have turn around some about about
forty eight hours now.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
That's right, let's have to a break. On the other side,
we're gonna talk to Ed's favorite gun of the week.
He's was talking good about it before before the last
break and much much more wrong. Talk about broadcasting live
from the studios at LPD Farms. Arrange. We'll be back
after the news. You know Jac fifteen years ago or
fourteen when we put together that opening and said this
is not politically correct. How do we have foreshadowed how
(21:19):
correct this is? If you don't watch on Facebook or YouTube,
you should because you get commentary from Ed that you
just don't get over the family friendly airway. Family right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Welcome back to on Target. I am your host, Eric
Jointa with JC and Ed. Always good to have the
crew back here. Going to a quick gun of the
week this week. It is sponsored by our good friends
(21:41):
over at Black Wings Shooting Center. I have been waiting
for this for I don't know eight months now, since shot.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Show probably on January was a big g.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
I was actually able to hold one when I went
to a show a month ago, and this week we
got a few, in very few. I'm just saying I
took one for myself there it is, jac I said it.
IF's listening, I did it.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Okay, that knocks out about half of our of what we.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Have by right, so JC in your hands right here,
off camera because we can.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Out of my hands, facibook, folks, I'm not touching any firearm.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Faith book.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Folks.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
There you what he got.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
So what we have is kel tech, George Calgrin so innovative,
you have to admit. Kel tech is just they come
up with all sorts of stuff. This is the Keltuch
PR five seven. So it shoots the five point seven
by twenty eight cartridge, which is an incredible cartridge stopping
(22:37):
power because it's got high velocity. And this is in
a really unusual pistol. A lot of states are banning
detachable magazine. Hey, if it has a detachment, you can't
own it. So George decided, you know what, we can
give plenty of capacity, but we will have an internal magazine.
So the magazine is insight. It is not detachable yet
it can hold twenty plus one rounds a five to
(23:01):
seven and the firearm it weighs just a little over
thirteen ounces. I mean it's like you have a brick
to hold it down on a wendy day. It's amazing.
And how is it loaded. It's loaded with a clip,
a clip which basically the cartridges are exposed. A magazine
would have it and closed. But notice the clip. You
(23:22):
lay the cartridges in here. When you pull it back,
you insert it and then there's a follower. You just
push it right down in that roads ten rounds, you
pick you up your second one, you load it, and
there you are traveling with twenty one rounds of an
incredibly lightweight firearm. People go, hooy, where's the safety. The
safety is the fact that it has a basically a
(23:43):
double action type trigger, but it's four point eight ounces. Now,
when you think about it, even in the matches of
can't perry, you can't have a firearm in there that
doesn't have at least a four pound trigger pull. There's
a four point eight pounds in a double action with
twenty one. It has some unique features that for example,
(24:06):
if you look at the barrel, here are all those
stars there, it's got a rotary barrel that locks up
with the front of the slide to hold it in place,
which gives it really great accuracy. Also, it lightens the firearm.
It also is optic ready, but instead of screws, it
uses roll pins, which even the people go, wow, rollpins
don't come, you know, loose. It's a tight roll pin.
(24:26):
You don't have to worry about your the screw. But yes,
to drive those out put in an optic. It's just lightweight.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Of course, the carter is.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
A little bit longer, so the grip's longer. But it's
so thin. It's only at the whitest it's it's point
nine three inches hyped about five inches. It's just it's
really really small, thin, concealable, and uh, it's just it's
really really cool and it's inexpensive. They you said it's ugly. Yeah,
(24:56):
just look at the at the astra six hundreds or
nine hundred and you'll go, oh, is that like that? Well,
look them up and you'll see.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
That's that's why I have to look it.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Up now that they're expensive to make because they were
so good.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Anyway, but it's just really really you know, lightweight, so unique.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Throwing stones for a man who's carrying a clock.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
But it's uglier than the clock. It's uglier than all.
Is that not an ugly gun? Guys?
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Is it interesting?
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Is it good? Looking gun or is it ugly? Come on,
it's the lightest interesting.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yeah, it is five to seven, but it's.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
The smith and it's and it's not even a very
pretty gun.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Well no, it's weird looking as well. It's just so
that's what.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
I didn't buy that one, though, I want it, you.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Want it, okay, Well, this is forty percent lighter than
the next lightest of the five to seven.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I mean, I do like the five seven, don't get
me wrong, but and I like the size of that one,
but the appearance, I just can't. I couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
I couldn't. Yeah, yeah, all right, guys, Well be you
got a special to talk about. I do. You saw
Laurie come up here and stick it in front of me,
didn't you.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, she more or less demanded that you bring my note.
I mean she's very pushy to so listen to this, guys.
This is a new firearm. She didn't hear you? New
firearm SIG three hundred blackout.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Uh. The spear light really enormously popular. We got a
couple wins this week. But to sweeten the kitty, to
sweeten the kitty, you have a choice. You can either
when you upon purchase at the firearm you get either
three hundred rounds of sub sonic uh SIG Blackout AMMO,
which is great, or you can choose and get a
(26:41):
Romeo four T and FD to mask the gun. That
Romeo four TE is almost a six hundred.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Dollars penny off penny off.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
I was going to say, it's.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Six about can they get to Juliet with it too?
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Huh? No, you to buy this ever, Seriously, I mean
six hundred dollars off of that when you're buying gun
that that is a heck of a set up, a
heck of a deal. So if you've been in the
market for the three hundred blackout out to spear light
and by SIG, we have a couple here at ft
E and it is beautiful, guys, a SIMP tool break.
On the other side, we're gonna talk about used firearms,
and at the end of that segment ed you're almost there.
(27:15):
We have a kind of a big announcement, so we'll
talk about that. I'm on forward to that target breadcasting
live from this to do the LAPD farms arranged. We'll
be back after the break.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Yep. So it's a special diamond back.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
But I mean you we get them in. I think
we have a single action army still from Colt. So
there's historical ones as well that are worth looking at.
But let's go through today and talk a little bit
about what to look for. What to look for. If
you're walking into a store and Jacon, I'm going to
tee you up on this. You're walking in and you're
looking at used.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Revolvers, well, revolvers, Yeah, they're such good buyes. I tried
not to buy anything new, uh, because news just just
so good. Let's face it, here's the real facts that
even if you shoot a lot, the chances are you're
not going to fire five thousand rounds through a firearm
in your lifetime. I mean, yeah, if you're a competitor
(28:11):
or something. Yeah, I have friends that are doing one
hundred and twenty thousand a year just in practice. But anyway,
so they are really really good deals. If you're again
a revolver, you can tell if it's well used. One
of the first things they talk about is the wedding ring.
If you look, whenever a cylinder is turned, there's a
bolt that locks it into place, and if it's been
(28:31):
just for a long time, you can see a little ring,
they call it a wedding ring. But if you run
your finger over that, if you can feel a little
groove in there, I would pass that by because, yeah,
you can buy new cylinders, it's just better ones are
out there. That means that cylinder has been turned away.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
To that point. Jac on our new revolvers. Some of
those beautiful colts we have in or the Smith and
Wessons that are blue. If you ever wonder why we
don't allow the customers to pull the trigger, because every
pull that trigger, it's prone for that for that wedding ring,
for that bio is coming along looking for that, you know,
collector gun. They don't want one that is visibly looks
(29:08):
like it's been pulled a lot. Good but they're just
not fired.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
And so five thousand rounds and also there's another fact
that they said these firearms are built to handle off
like one hundred and twenty five thousand rounds of and
I have friends who actually have more than that on
there on their pistols. Yeah that we play sperrel springslings
like that, but the guns are there in their solid
so they're great. Great deals on the revolved. The other
(29:31):
thing and this is a little refround about on with
with things that have happened at gun shows. But whenever
I go, I still take a pencil, that unsharpened pencil
with an eraser on it. And if you want to,
if you're in question, how's that firing pin? You know,
is that really working? You can with permission, after you
cock the gun, after checking make sure all the all
the rules apply. Pointing up, drop that pencil in their
(29:55):
racer first, and when you pull the trigger, see if
that you know, we have one to shoot up to
the ceiling sometimes. But if you pull a trigger and
it's not moving, then I'd go, yeah, pass that by too.
Don't worry about the blueing war unless you're like collecting.
There's a lot of people carry things in holsters. Uh,
And yeah, there's a little blowingwear on it. You can
touch that up and it has no effect at all whatsoever.
(30:16):
The timing of the gun when you cock it. You
want to make sure that the cylinder locks up tightly.
And hey, I give you one of these secrets. I've
snabbed several colts where people go, oh boy, this cylinder
is really really loose. In the old days, the cylinders
would wobble around when you cocked it, but when you
pull the trigger, it locks up tight as a drum
and it's unmovable. So whenever you check out an older
(30:38):
quote with permission, you know, cock it, hold that that
that that trigger when you you know, drop hole that
and you'll see that that locks up tight. But if
it's loose and sloppy, well.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
And you see another another indication of it making the
timing not being there is maybe shavings on the cone.
I mean, wouldn't that be an indicator absolutely?
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Because the cone is the part of the barrel. It's
a little slightly lighter than the bullet, and when it
jumps from the cylinder into the barrel, if you see
shavings that are up underneath the frame above it or
around that forcing cone, that would tell you that maybe
the timing's off a little bit, and I'm shaving some
lead or copper off of that. Another thing to pass up.
(31:22):
Things can be repaired, but not if you're buying it,
you know, don't you just just move on from that?
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Grips jac I don't get too hung up on grips.
I mean, unless you're collecting and you want the original
grips but you know, there's a lot of aftermarket grips.
You can always if you purchase a use revolver and
it doesn't have the original grip, maybe it came with
pack Meyer here in our case, you can always search
out there first set of original grips.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Thousands of grip manufacturers out there. So yeah, and that's
what I do with my good guns. I'll take them
and I'll take the grips off, put those away and
put some rubber pack marks or something on there. So
but those are the things you really want to look for.
Look at the sites, make sure they're not loose in
the back, if they're adjustable, just the things that you
would want to know.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
And those are all things that we look at when
we're taking these in, when the gunsmith evaluates them and
everything else. So hopefully, if we've done our job well
by the time the customer comes up there and does this,
you're going to see a great product there. And that's
not to say every revolver we have here is a
perfect one. You take on the state sales sometimes you
get the good with the bad, but for the most part,
there are some phenomenal guns out there.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
And especially because Heal carry ones because people go out
and I try to try it once, they sit in
the door for twenty years and hopefully you never have
to use it. So some of those are like brand
new when we get them in here.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Chase talk about semid Tosiow.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Is a little different animal. The wedding ring there is
at the front of the barrel when the gun locks up.
It's the slide that goes forward and you want a
tight fit. But if you pull that back and you
look and you see there's a lot of wear towards
the end of the barrel where it locks up, I
could see some use, especially like out western dusty conditions.
(32:54):
You get some sand in there and it goes back
and forth, and then you'll have scratches that are not
going around it back and forth on the barrel. It
just tells you that that that's gone seen some use.
So you can pretty much tell that you still want
to do the firing pin test. Make sure that is okay. Yeah,
check the magazines. Some of them have magazines disconnects, and
you want to find out when that means that the
(33:15):
magazine's not in is not going to fire. Some people
have altered theirs, like me on my Valley high Powers.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
I've taken out the magazine gun.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, I've taken out the magazine in mind as good
as could be. But once I took out the magazine safety,
it shoots like a dream and it can shoot even
with the magazine not in there. But make sure you
check that. Ask those kind of questions. Ask people why
they're selling it. But the good thing about it, springs
are one thing that it's been shot a lot, and
I can pull it back. You may find hmmm, or
if it doesn't lock up quite, but look at the
(33:46):
end of the barrel. They look at the chamber of
the barrel just to see if there's a lot of
hang ups or if you see there's there's some things
that have been misaligned sometimes and ask people why they're
selling it. People who have there's some of the ammunition,
their ammunition sensitive. A lot of semi automatics, like hey,
it'll shoot this one like crazy. But if you get
a short, fat, flat ended forty five, sometimes that hangs
(34:11):
up easily polished out and you can correct that. But
just make sure that you're you're getting police guns or
the steal they are we talked about in your department.
They ma only shoot twenty five rounds a year to resertify,
and you can carry a gun for hopefully all your
life without having to use it in vain. And after
about five years ago, let's you know, we'll move up.
(34:32):
Get something new you can.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
It might show a little holster aware, yeah, but by
the wise it's great now. One thing too, you know,
we talk about the advantage of extra accessories. I mean
people love to put new sites on it, or optics
or extra magazines, all kinds of stuff. Or you might
even find some of the used firearms in our case
that have holsters that come with it and people triggered
in everything. But you also have to watch two for
(34:59):
those accessories that somebody's put on that you might not
want to watch, you know, on some of the glocks,
some of the trigger jobs. I mean there's there's some
internal parts there too that you you might need to
pay attention to because it might not be something that
that you would have done.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Same with the revolvers. If people try to do this
gunsmith thing and they over file the seer sometimes, i
mean I've seen guns where you just touch it on
the side and all of a sudden, it's like whoa,
whoa and that's why the guy's selling it is he
screwed up his trigger job. But another good point on
that that you're talking about is the fact that onto
some way automatics, you want to make sure that that
(35:35):
trigger is not Also, you know too, like a lot
of people try to do things on their own over
polish and so you want to make sure that they're safe.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
In rust on firearms, you know, you you know, even
stored in the best of conditions, sometimes you get a
little bit of rust on there. A lot of times
that can be polished off and everything, but if it's
been on there, oh wow, and there's some pitting, just
something to consider. It doesn't necessarily affect the functionality of it.
So if it's something you're carrying or for home defense
or for a truck gun or whatever, might not you know,
be bad, but just something to look at it and
(36:04):
be considered. Of blue gun.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
That's why about the plastic, fantastic tupperware guns, as they
don't get that, but some of the older guns just
from carrying them and handling them in the hot day,
sweat from your hands.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
The other thing too, if you're if you're selling used firearms,
the original boxes help I mean when we present a
used fire them to somebody who's looking for one in
the case and it has the original box and the
owner's manual and everything that that just shows that the
prior owner, you know, took care of this, they kept
everything together, and it tends to sell for a little
bit more than just a firearm. Doesn't necessarily mean it's
(36:36):
a better gun, but it kind of goes to the point.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
That on guns like this, like this diamonback, it could
make one hundred and some dollars different, right, have the
box versus not. I've seen people pay one hundred and
fifty dollars for a box without the gun, just so
because they have lost theirs for a collectible type guns.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Yeah, the other advantage of buying them through as towards
as as ourselves is we have a program that any
used fire them in our case you can pay to
rent it fifteen dollars. You go up to the range,
try it out. If it's not for you, return it
back and go back to business. If it's something you say, wow,
I love it, I'll take it, then we'll refund that
that fifteen dollars. So you can't go wrong with that.
(37:16):
So guys, it is close to the end. Ed I
know you've been chomping at the bit on man, what
is this announcement? What is this? Now, I'm going to
tell you what it is. Okay, so listen to this.
I'm going to tell you all right, August first through
August fourteenth, Okay, two week time period. Ohio once again
is doing a sales tax holiday. And a few years ago,
(37:39):
I think last year was the first year during that
sales tax holiday. It used to be just for back
to school items. Well, it applies to the sportings industry
as well. It applies to firearms, to ammunition, to really
any goods that are sold here in the store, holsters,
everything else.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
And we're not implying back to school firearms. No, we're
not having to do it, right, So that's not if
you need it back to school time.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah. But so August first through fourteenth, there is no
sales tax. There's a couple of stipulations. It has to
be an item under five hundred dollars. Okay, this is
by the state's rule and stuff. But there's no sales tax. Right,
new guns, use guns. But we're gonna sweeten the kiddy, Edward.
We are going to sweeten it for that time period
(38:22):
August first through the fourteenth, all of our used guns
here are gonna be ten percent off, so you.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Get the eight percent off in the sales tax, so you're.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Not paying sales So let's just say so, let's equate
that to these used police trades we have right now
Smith and Weston forty five's three magazines holsters. It is
right now, it sits at three ninety nine. Ten percent
off of that. Now you're what three sixty and there's
no sales tax. You're out the door.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
So and that is a steal of a gun, it
really is.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
That's awesome because I gotta get one of them.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
And your price is already loaded. You know you're gonna
owe me, You're gonna owe me money.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
But no, seriously, we're gonna roll that out first, just first,
for how long?
Speaker 1 (39:05):
Fourteen fourteen day? Okay, so ten percent of all use
firearms here at this store. You'll get no sales tax
on that if it's under five hundred, and if it's
over five hundred, you still get the timpercent off. So guys,
thanks for spending the last hour with us. There was
so many good guests coming up here. In the next month,
we have Remington jumping on with us, car arms jumping
(39:25):
on with us. We have Bob Meters coming back to
sit with us. So so much cel tech is coming.
That's that's going to call in as well, so time
with us. There you go, mister kel Grin. Guys, have
a great week, go to the State Fair and let's
be careful out there.
