Speaker 1 (00:00):
I don't think we should do it. Okay, maybe maybe
we should do it today. The people have spoken. Actually,
if I'm being honest, was just one guy who passed
through the store last week. But he did speak. He
did speak, and what did he say? He said, isn't
that on Target radio show is supposed to be about guns?
Why don't you guys ever take callers anymore? And I
(00:24):
said to him, you know, you know that's right. So
at twelve thirty today we take your calls on anything
gun or law and order related, none of that open
phone Saturday stuff. Please though on Target it's next good
afternoon Walking on Target. We're broadcasting live from the studios
of LAPD Firearms Range and Training Facility that's located at
(00:45):
nine pint nine, Triple nine, Bethel Road. I'm your host,
Eric PSA PSA at that means public service announcements, right,
We're gonna do it right out of the shoot. Beware
of random stopped cars in the middle of the road.
How's that?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Ed?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Does that pretty much sum it up?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
I'm on hey, uh yeah, beware of stop cars in
the middle of the road. Yes, it's a problem.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
What the heck is going on?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
How distracted drivers, idiots behind the wheel, take a pick.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I know about the guy on two seventy this week.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Oh, the guy who's shooting the cars?
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah, did you see the video?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I did not.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Well, let me just describe it. The guys on two
seventy westbound between seventy one and twenty three, right, Okay,
Worthington stops in the center lane. I mean, like like stopped.
I don't know how he didn't get wiped out. Really,
stops in the center lane. Thirty seconds later, opens his
door and starts firing at people.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Why and why.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Do you need a reason these days? Okay, he's probably
probably had a bad day, ed probably just having a
bad day.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
The thing that surprises me, I don't know all the details. Really,
I don't know any of the details. But things that
surprises me were two things. First of all, if somebody
is out of the car shooting randomly on the freeway,
everyone's carrying a deadly weapon. Should ran ran that sob
over number two? Now, I, like I said, I don't
know the details on this, And maybe maybe they have this.
(02:15):
How the heck do you not get a license plate
out of that?
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I would have thought all the cameras on there around
that area, somebody would.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Have How about everyone who has stopped behind him? Again,
I don't know, maybe they have it, but presumably when
you watch the video, once he's done shooting randomly at
people and he drives off, everyone goes about their business
like is he done? Yeah, okay, come on, honey, let's
go with our exis nobody follows them. I mean, this
is the.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
You know, the charge. Believe it wasn't off duty copper round.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
This is the the train in North Carolina all over again.
I mean, are peopled oblivious?
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Geez?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Did you see it?
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Jac If? I talked to you last night and I was,
I was that no one even bothered to get life's
plate of this guy who just say okay, this is
okay just to shooting on the freeways. It's great. Maybe
they realized that the judges probably left the guy out anyway,
(03:14):
so it wasn't worth their time.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, probably so, probably so. Guys.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
We are the owners of LPD Firearms Range and Training Facility,
Interactive in Law Enforcement, but for one hour on Saturdays
we've been together there a group of firearm experts to
discuss new products in the market, training tips, and oftentimes
political topics surrounding the Second Amendment. Our commandment that has
always been to bring you facts about our industry. Imagine
that ed facts about the industry now customers and listeners
(03:39):
with safe responsible ownership of firearm. Today on the show,
gotta take a moment and thank the two guests from
last week, Our good buddy Rex Score from Black Wing.
Always good to hear from him, hear his perspective, and
he has been a fighter for the Second Amendment in
Central Ohio for geez, twenty some years, actually longer than
that now, So always good to hear from our good friend.
(04:01):
George Williams jumped on last week too, if you didn't
get a chance to go out there and check out
his articles, definitely worth worth a read and something you
need to go see today Today JC is back with
us and j C j C. You probably didn't get
any sleep last night, did you.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Well. I went to bed about four or fifteen, I think,
so it was come on sleep. So uh, there's just
there's just so much stuff out there, and that's just
one leads to another, and you have to get a
kind of a picture of what's really happening with these
cases in the Second Amendment, and it's going to boil
up to the fact that someone's gonna have to make
a decision on the Supreme Court as whether or not
(04:40):
states are allowed to ban ars, banned magazines, or what
they're I'm going to be allowed to do. So they're
gonna one of those stories we're starting off with is
they have agreed to accept a case coming up, so
you know, we'll see how that goes.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
So jac we're going to get to your news up
here surely at twelve thirty, though we said it at
the top, but at twelfth, Ella, are you ready to
answer the phone lines? Yeah, she's left, Oh, she's right,
all right. At twelve thirty, we're gonna open the phone lines.
And if you got a question on CCW, give it's
a call. If you're wondering what you should carry for
self defense, give us a call. Want to blow off
(05:19):
some steam because in this city it looks like they
hand out more risk slaps than jail time, give us
a call. Want to know about Ella's birthday weekend? Give
us a call. That's all stuff that is open for.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
You. Are can you hear me, James, I'm going to turn.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Down your Mike can about ten seconds, but that is
all coming up at twelve thirty. And then also in
all honesty too, we want to hear two weeks we're
two weeks away at from the big interview with Zach Klin.
He's going to be right here in person with us,
and we are going to if you have a suggestion
on maybe what we should talk about. If you have
(05:58):
a question you want us to ask him, it might
be a good time to give us a call later
today and talk about that, or send us an email
on target at LPD dot com. We want to kind
of put all those all together and be prepared for
when he is here and what is is there? Okay, Sponsors,
we got to thank our sponsors man, they support us
so much. We saw us law Shield in here again
(06:18):
today Jackson Negress Windows of course, Black Wings Shooting Center.
Heard from them last week, River's Edge Cutlery always good
supporters of the show joining me today in the studio.
We got JC heard him and we have big Ed
to the Right.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Turned me on again.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yes, I'll go to point to you. I want to
hite your button on. How about that big Ed to
the right, you know, big Ed your Chicago we haven't
a Chicago update for a long time.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
President's doing it for me?
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yes, yes, but did you see this is disturbing? This
really I don't know this, This really is painful to
watch and listen to. Did you see what went down
this week when the federal agents were in essence putting
out an officer in trouble.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Call where they were told the Chicago police were told
not to respond.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Not to respond. If you haven't heard the radio broadcast
of that, it's out there on our Facebook page. It's
definitely worth a listen. I don't know what is going
on in this country when you have an agency tell
their officers over the air, we're not going to respond
to that officer and call trouble. I don't if I
was on the street, I'm just saying that I'm going,
(07:30):
I'm going. And so what I mean, what what's the
caliber of these officers there? I mean, are they that
scared for their job? Are they that brainwashed? I mean?
What about the brotherhood of.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Talking about Chicago for starters? Yeah, yeah, I would agree
that if that would have come over the air and
I had officers getting shot at, rammed off the road,
definitely would have responded. And if it would have cost
me my job, then I guess it would have cost
me my job, but I'm sure the President would have
got got it back for me.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
It's just it's just scary. It was scary to listen
to it. I can't imagine, you know.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
I saw that. I saw that on the news, and
then I saw he denied saying that.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
It's on the radio. It's we have the Spotify or
the Broadcastify broadcast of it.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
No, I didn't see that. I did heart it here
and I saw it. But they also came out the
same day that this occurred, where he denied saying that
he told his officers not to response.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
So that's that's the left thing. Just say to deny
it enough then then hopefully that would become fact. It's
just crazy. I mean, when you're out there on the street,
you at least know that an even given time, there's
a call away from where your brothers and sisters are coming.
I mean, if if it really hits the fan, you know, man,
when that call goes out, they're coming.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Even the video of it, you didn't see Chicago ped
show up.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
No, No scary time. Scary times. If you miss the show,
you can always catch The podcast is at six' TEN
wtv in dot. Com we're On. iHeartRadio we're on, YouTube,
facebook really any place you get you by.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Podcast we're not On, facebook but we are on. YouTube
i can't get logged in On. Facebook the shows we're
on there ed really. Yep i've tried several, times BUT
i was able to get on to. YouTube all, right
all right out, there if you want to talk to,
me go to. YouTube, yeah Well i'll give.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
Him CAN i kind of just give him your cell?
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Number? Sure go ahead and kind OF i can just
do that.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Too, guys it is time for a little news WITH.
Jc what do you HAVE?
Speaker 4 (09:24):
JC a couple of really big things out. There the
one THAT i kind of alluded, to The Supreme court
has accepted a case Granted Granted Surgery rory and the
case Challenging hallaii's ban on licensed Gun CARRIER ccw holders
taking their firearms on public property without the owner's express. Permission,
(09:50):
now this kind of reverses the default presumption that has
kind of really across the nation where that has been out,
there where if you have a LICENSED ccw holder you
can take your gun into places like, stores, restaurants gas
stations unless the owner. Posts you, know firearms are not allowed.
Here we've all seen that signed with the firearm the
(10:12):
gin gun to the line to. It, Well hawaii has
reversed that and it, said, oh you can't take your
firearm on any privately owned property Like i've mentioned without
assigned saying guns allowed. Here so The High court will
now decide that this. Rule it's interesting the Gun wife's
(10:34):
activists have done this, rule the vampire, rule and they're
going to take you a look and see if it
it violates The Second. Amendment, now WHEN i first heard
this term vampire, RULE i just assumed that it, meant,
well this role really, Sucks but that's not what it. Means,
apparently in the, mythology vampires cannot come into your house
unless you invite them, in and that's basically what they're saying.
(10:56):
Now so we Had Stephen gatowski Of The reload has
been on the show a couple of, times and he's
really well versed in this and has a lot of.
Friends and so half a dozen of some of the
Best Second amendment scholars who spoke with, him they actually
couldn't agree on how this is cases going to. Go
it's Called wolford versus Low. Pez in the, fact several
(11:18):
of them were really surprised that the court decided to
take this case up before addressing really the ones that
we're interested. In these are the bans on magazines or
states are banned you know above a ten round. Magazine
we banned them at. Ars we're going to ban them.
ALL a couple of states have just come out and said,
nope you can't own. Them we thought that that was
we were hoping that that's what they would. Address but
(11:39):
this one seems a little. Simpler it's got broader invocation
of concerns property. Rights so they're, going, hey you, KNOW
i want some gun. Cases, well all these scholars said
that they agreed that this would be relatively, simple and
it's got a relatively low profile of, controversy and they
think that's why The core may have taken it, up
(12:02):
because they just have to, decide you, know, hey can
a property owner say you, know, nope that's that's. It
i'm going to have to say we allow and post.
It how many businesses are going to put down we
welcome guns here or you, know guns are okay, Here
and that's What hawaii is trying to do is make
(12:22):
sure that people don't post those signs and so you
can't carry anywhere that Part National rifle should have had
filed an immicus brief back In, may urging The Supreme
court to take the. Case now that they're doing, it
they're filing, another planning on filing another, brief urging The
Supreme court to really take a look at this because
The hawaii's law was deliberately designed to make public carry
(12:45):
so impractical that citizens choose not to exercise Their Second amendment,
rights and you, know they've gone to the trouble of
getting your concealed carry. Permit and now the way the law,
reads and this is what the The, circuit The Ninth
Circuit court has come up, with saying, that, well you
can carry on some, streets in some, sidewalks and, yeah
(13:08):
you got to go to the bank in their parking,
lot but only certain parking. Lots everything else is off.
Limit and THE nra pointed out that ninety six of
all the publicly accessible land In maui is off, limits
like almost the whole island is off limits to, anyone
even with you, know with THE. Ccw and they also
(13:31):
pointed out The Supreme court that The Ninth Circuit court
kind of is a runaway. Court it is the worst,
court a circuit, court federal circuit court in the nation
on gun. Rights as a matter of, fact they pointed
out that gun owners in The West coast And hawaii
The Ninth. Court Ninth Circuit court's hostility towards The Second
(13:53):
amendment is well documented because they have supported gun control
in fifty to nothing on challenges to these gun control
laws that are putting out. There so they've ruled in
favor of gun control fifty to nothing on the laws Before.
Bruin now That bruin's out, there they'd, Beize, okay we
(14:14):
got to do. Something now they're picking these things. Apart and,
basically as they, SAID i don't look they're putting this
in the, brief but they, said, basically The Ninth Circuit
court is giving the middle finger to The Supreme court, saying, yeah,
well we can still do what we. Want, well, anyway
we'll find. Out i'm just. Ruling can you imagine if
they said, no, yes that's the way it's got to.
Be how many of these states would say you cannot
(14:34):
carry on any public property unless they have a sign
posted saying guns allowed. Here but they're going to. Continue
they're going to hear the case sometimes early next, year
so we will certainly take a look and see what
was happening with. That and here's another case we talked
about this morning BECAUSE i just found out about, it
well last. NIGHT i just came out. Yesterday But silence Are,
(14:57):
central which is a huge suppressor. Company well they're suing
FED x as a matter of, fact they just filed
Suit october, Eighth so that was like On wednesday over
suppressor shipping ban from FED. X So silence Or, central
they pioneered the home delivery of. Suppressors before people get
(15:18):
what what you have to go. Through you have to
be approved by the federal government of THE fbi saying, yes
you do the background check and you do all the
stuff and you pay for. It, well then once that's,
done then they will ship it to. You it's just
actually a piece of steel or aluminum or whatever it's
made out. Of and they actually had a. Contract so
(15:38):
they're suing FED x in the subsidiarys alleging negligent misrepresentation
and breach of contract after FED x just right off
the bat just abruptly refuse to continue transporting suppressors even
after assigned contract in twenty twenty. Four so so so
worth A. Coo pardon, Me Silent central Not Sloan's. Co
(16:01):
But silence Are, central the other one is another. Company
they said That FedEx mis Led silence Or central during
lengthy negotiations and renegged unassigned, contract and that The FedEx
actually Courted silence Are central through twenty, four visiting the main,
headquarters which is located In South, dakota and then all
of a sudden they, say, nope we're not going to
(16:22):
do this, anymore And silences Or central just a. Look
this is causing huge financial and operational. Damages but it's
another instance where corporate discrimination against lawful firearms. Business the
actually president of the company, said its hard for me to
believe That FedEx's actions were motivated by anything other than
anti gun, sentiment and this kind of treatment seems inordinately
(16:44):
to affect law, abiding fully compliant firearms related, businesses and
he's hoping that The trump administration will look into. It
but as we, talked Eric i said this could have
major implications on how major shipping and financial institutions handle
commerce with the FIREARM ffl.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
And we've seen. It it's affected us even the last
couple of, years just in our normal daily business of getting.
Firearms so it will be interesting to see how that plays.
Out that's certainly one we need to keep on top.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
OF.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Jc let's go to a break and we can get
back on the other. Side we have a little bit more.

Rights and you, know we talk all the time about
anecdotal things going on with these. Judges we need to pay.
ATTENTION i wish there was some entity who could keep
track of the judges here In Franklin county in these
cases that we continue to, see and then when it's
time to elect, him say, hey remember. This it one
just happened this. WEEKEND i mean it was did you see?
(19:49):

involuntary manslaughter when he was. Fourteen he's, fourteen he's he
fields a, car runs from the, police hits and kills
an innocent person right at, fourteen says so he gets
a little probation for that little slap on the. Wrist you,
KNOW i don't.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Think he got to kill somebody at juvenile and just get.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Yes HE i, MEAN i don't think he got his
cookies that night and. Stuff but, nonetheless so what do you?
Do he gets off probation and caught immediately back in
a stolen, car.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
And they're only gonna put him away FOR i think
nine months is what they.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Get ninety days. Days ninety days is what he got
for parole, violation and he's ordered to serve six six.
Months he's seventeen, now so he's he's got a lot
of crime in front of him between you, know when
he before he turns to the, DOOR i, mean this
is this is, crap and we need to know these.
(20:45):
Judges this is. Stuff AND i know it's out of
his purview a little, bit but this is STUFF i

wtvn or one eight hundred and six'. Ten wtvn ella
is ready to take, the call and we're ready. As
(24:35):
well we'll catch you right after the bottom of.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
The.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Hour news We're on target broadcasting live from the STUDIOS
Of lpd Firearms. And range we'll be. Right back welcome
back To. On target i'm, Your host derek joined today
IN the. LPD studios i got, big Ed. Big, Ed
hello my good friend to, MY right jc is on
the line, with us and Of course ella is keeping everything,
moving forward. Including calls if then this is. The time
(25:00):
we don't do this whole a lot, of time but
now is the time if you want to call in
with any questions really, gun related or law and, order
related or really anything. Anything related six one four eight
two one nine eight eight six is, the NUMBER and
I see osu is winning. Sizeably, ALREADY ed i think
it's ten. To nothing there's no use watching the. Game
(25:20):
anymore you may as well, call In Right jac what
what other news you? Got there.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Just came. Out yesterday trump's judicial appointments now continue to
shape the fight For The. Second amendment now this is a,
major win not Just For, donald trump but For every.
American Values The second amendment. Just HAPPENED The us senate
has Officially Confirmed Professor jennifer mascot To The Third circuit Court.
(25:49):
Of appeals The Third third circuit Is, Over, pennsylvania Delaware And,
new jersey some of the most restrictive states. Out, there
now why Is this because this Bically is trump's effort
to restore the originalist interpretation OF The. Us Constitution So professor,
(26:09):
mascott's CONFIRMATION and, i said this is more than just a.
Judicial appointment she is a scholar deeply rooted and. Constitutional
originalism then that's the, digital philosophy And interprets constitution as
it was understood by. The founders So she's mascot studied
under two Of The supreme court's strongest, Originalist Justices clarence
(26:32):
Thomas And. Brett tavanaugh so she is a student of,
those guys and her work has been consistently reinforcing the
importance of the limited government and the separation. Of power
so why does this appointment matter? Right, now well on,
the Fifteen The third circuit is set to hear an in.
Bank challenge that means every one of the judges assigned
(26:56):
To The Third, circuit court the the, original panel which
is they call it. A panel they take three judges
and they make a decision on. A, case well this
is this was an appeal now to The. Full, circuit
well the fact that she's now on and on The
third circuit that means on the fifteen she's going to
(27:17):
be one of the ones making a decision on this
and that Makes it her addition makes it nine justices
that have been Appointed by republicans, Versus six so we
have a nine to six chance. Of this and this
is a, big case and this could make a difference
in what people are thinking about because, this case this
(27:40):
is the Challenge To new jersey's BAN on ar fifteen
rifles and dandir's. Capacity magazines they have banned ownership of
air fifteens and thirty round magazines anything over. Ten rounds
so they're going to make this decision and if it goes,
(28:00):
on us well then, you know the next step would
try to be To The. Supreme court but that they
think that this could really set a precedent of a
circuit court now, saying no you know you cannot. Do
that these are in common usage so, you know listen
that this one seed can make the difference between upholding
(28:21):
constitutional gun bands or giving the full protection Of The.
Second amendment so a really. Big deal and with connection,
with this because this is The, third CIRCUIT the nra
back plaintiffs are seeking a fall of board review on
The third Circuit Over new jerseys sweeping gun per, permit
restrictions where the case of sequel versus plot and we've
(28:43):
talked about, it before but what this case is is
They're Challenging. New jerseys what they have done is they've
listed a near total list of, sensitive places which is
most of the state in this requirement that applicants also
to get a carry you have to get references from
four reputable non relatives before they we even think about
(29:07):
granting you a consumed. Carry permit so this is this
is this is big and. That's crazy having her on
the board will really make. A difference can you imagine, That,
going hey before we even, consider it you got to
find four people that will. Announce it so basically what
they're saying is we're assuming that you are a, violent
person are not capable of of of really having. A
(29:30):
firearm but if you get four people to argue, that,
yes yes it's okay for you to, do it then we'll.
Consider it, so wow it's a it's a it's a.
Big deal and having her on is going to really
really help with those those states which are really TOUN.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
And jc that's stuff that that THE normal i mean
person doesn't pick up on week. DO we, I mean
i wouldn't have. KNOWN that, i mean that's that is
good stuff that we hope ends. Up being. It is
it is why we were on see SOMETHING else. Jc
too and THIS is i don't know if this has
been on your radar. OR not i Think it's centerbill
(30:06):
two seventy three right Here. In ohio they're going to
take testimony. This week and this is when we're a
part of a little bit because we sit on the
board For The Ohio Prevention lifeside ohio that is out
there helping people who are having mental issues and who
may have a firearm and it kind of helps with.
Suicide prevention, this Week this senate bill is going to
(30:31):
have testimony because it is kind of an interesting bill
in that in other states have done it now where
it's going to open up and it's going to allow
gun stores such as ourselves And black wings to accept
a firearm from an individual who is basically self reporting
that they're going through a. Difficult, TIME hey i need
to get this out of the house for a certain,
(30:53):
time period and it would be the legal part of
allowing us to accept that for a certain amount of
time and giving you back to them once they they
are back on. Their feet so it's. GOOD stuff, i
mean it's stuff that hasn't really hit the news, very
much but it's been that will certainly be following this
week as it goes. To testimony and to add, TO.
Speaker 4 (31:12):
That i just saw. LAST night i was kind of shocked.
About this there's an organization for veterans that once you
get out of the service and this we're talking About
special operators and the guy who was in charge of
it WAS an abco for six years and several of
his friends have. Committed suicide and it TURNS out i
was shocked. About this they said in The, in afghanistan
(31:36):
once you, get out these, special companies, you Know the
blackwater and those kind, of orders they hire. These contractors
they want the best of. The best they said that
one percent of our military forces did most of the Combat.
In afghanistan that just, shocked me, and well what's? Happening
now the suicide rates are, just soaring, They, said now
this is kind of a peace time, these guys. It's
(31:58):
continuous they DON'T get, i mean once they, do it
do it the, next day and the next day and the.
Next day and they said that suicide rates went from
eighteen percent a couple of years ago to twenty. Four
percent and they said in twenty, twenty four they said
that that forty two percent of the suicides were by
these special contractors that. Got out and they said they
(32:22):
basically now they don't know what. To do they reflect
because we're not in the state of war, right now
and they reflect on what's happened in. The PAST but
i was just shocked that they said that the increase is,
you know for twenty twenty four over suicides by folks
who were special.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Now and, THIS bill, i mean that's that's part of
the target here is, to help, you know some of
those men and women who went over and fought for us,
and everything and to help them now that they're they're. Back,
home guys if you have any question, for us, today's
today open the phone lines open six, four one nine eighty, EIGHT,
Six jc hey on a bit of. Good NEWS and
i DON'T think i mentioned this, To You jac and
this is, YOU know. I hesitate i hesitate complaining about
(33:03):
stuff that you deal with when you're. In BUSINESS and
i know, you know hey is part all part. Of
it we signed up. For it but we got something
came down this week ed that we've been waiting on
for a. Long time you may was that the. Electric,
bill no that has not. Come down you may have
remembered if you listened to the show for a number
of years in, Twenty eighteen going way back in, twenty
(33:23):
eighteen we got a Call from State of ohio and, it,
says hey we're doing a audit on you for something called.
Use TAX and, i, said, OKAY fine, i said what's? Use,
tax well use tax is a tax that the state
can assess you for items that are consumed basically within.
Your store so, for instance the paper tows in, the
bathroom if we bought those at a, wholesale price we
(33:46):
need to claim that and pay sales tax on that
if it's going to be if it's going to be.
Consumed here but if we went and bought a let's
Say from staples and we paid sales tax. On it
we're good. To go so it's stupen you kind of
you're aware of in business. And Everything so, i'm like.
That's fine we have nothing. To hide we've always done
things on the up. And up SO what i didn't
know at the time is it was a segue into
(34:07):
getting into when we did the renovation back in. Twenty
thirteen so, Get this so this is in. Twenty eighteen
now they're going to go back to. Twenty thirteen so, they,
said hey no, big deal, but hey by, the way
when you did, your renovations did you pay sales tax
on all the dry wall and the duck work and.
EVERYTHING else, i, Said well i'm assuming. WE did i
(34:28):
mean we hired. A contractor they oversaw the. Whole project
we never were in touch with, the subcontractors and, you
know we saw them come, and go but we didn't. Know.
Them right so, they, said well you need if you
can't prove that they paid, sales tax then we're going
to assess you a fine of, Twelve grand, and me
BEING who, i am being kind, OF frugal i. Said
(34:50):
no AND so i went and over a PERIOD of
i think it took me. A month i came up
with receipts from, these contractors so you can imagine all
the contractors that went through this place. DURING renovation i
came up with the receipts where they bought, the drywall
where they BOUGHT the, pvc pipe all those where it
showed they pay. Sales Sex so. I'M happy, i mean
(35:11):
look at this, showed YOU and I think I think
i accounted for ninety five percent of the receipts that they,
asked for so normal, at it you would extrapolate that
to the. ONE hundred, i mean if you're one hundred
percent on those, ninety five then you can assume that
the other five percent were probably that way. As, Well
RIGHT so i send them all in and, you know here,
you go and what do they do ed the Twenty
(35:31):
eighteen they reject every RECEIPT that i. Sent in why
because there's some loophole where they didn't call it, a
loophole but there's some loophole in the way the law
reads back from the nineties that says that the, ultimate
user which would have, been us had to pay for
it on our. CHECK stock, i, said well, WE would,
(35:52):
I mean i couldn't have gone to the drywall place
and road to, check them into the plumbing spot and road.
TO check, i said that's what the. Subcontractors did, oh
sorry but that how to be on your. Check stock
so here's your fine of. Twelve grand so OF course i, Fought,
it DAD and i, fought it and it went into.
A review so fast forward to twenty. Twenty five we've
(36:14):
never got a response from the state. ON that i
wasn't calling checking, on it right and every month when
we paid our sales tax that we have. To do
and here it did. Show up it says that an
outstanding balance of twelve grand. Under review it could have
been under review for. THIRTY years i. Don't care you
know how long you're not. Assessing, me well This week
i'm happy to announce after seven years we got the
(36:38):
letter from the state saying they reduced the fine. To zero,
All right so there, you go seven years in. The
year that's government.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
At work d that's.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Hard work that's government. At work but at the time
it was they were targeting, gun stores and they were
targeting gun stores for, these renovations and there was all
kinds of other little things went with. And stuff but
just filling anybody else just? Gun, Stores well i'm sure,
they DID but i knew of other gun stores who
got hit at. The time so there, you. Go guys
let's jump to. A break the phone lines are open
(37:11):
six one four eight six to talk to any of the.
Guys here and we got much much more wrong talking
broadcasting life from the STUDIOS of Lapd. Fires arrange we'll
be back after the quick break when we do. Open
phones maybe we'll just play records the. Whole time you
got records? Back, there ella.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
What's the last time you were in a radio station forty?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Years ago.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
There's no. Longer record you're not spending.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
The Tunes i'm johnny fevering it. Over here.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
I'll bring in my picture discs and we'll really ramp.
It up welcome Back. On target i'm. Your host eric.
JOINED today i got my good friend ed to. THE
right I got jc on.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
The.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Line jac we had a question during the break from
some of the live. Studio audience here are YOU? FOLLOWING
jc a court a judge Out of texas that would
allow contailed carry holders to bring a firearm into. Post
office have you?
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Heard? That, oh yeah that's as a matter, of fact that. Was,
interesting yeah that was one of my ancillary Stories. For fine,
but yeah the judge it was A southern texas district
and the way it reads it applies to all. Post
offices and for a long time you have not been
allowed to carry. ANY firearms i KNOW when i go
(38:28):
to the, post office a load and stuff there and
then walk in the stop a letter in the box and.
Come out and so, he, said nope they threw that
out and says it's a. Permanent injunction and, he said
going back to where the, founding fathers nobody was ever
prevented from from going into a. POST office i Probably
(38:50):
Asked benjamin franklin who was the one who FOUNDED the
us post offices. Back then, but anyway so we think
that now basically says, you, know yeah you're, going in
you're mailed A letter i want. To package. Come on
so that now they said the. POST office i just
read where the post. Office is responses Of The National
Post office service said that they're, trying to, you know
(39:12):
notify all the post offices that of this. Permanent injunction
and so that looks like that that that is going
to be another place that we are allowed to Carry
So i'm. I'm excited so, constitutional carry so you don't NEED.
A ccw you can go in with.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
A firearms funny mentioned that the gentleman here in our
audience says that they've taken down the sign in his
post office here In. Central ohio there.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
You go so that the word is. Out already so
that's that's the way it. Should be and it's another.
Small victory, BUT yeah, I know i follow the law
of being. AN instructor i don't want to do anything
that would jeopardize my ability to. Teacher carry, SO yeah
i always did not carry into a. Post office And
now i'm going to not worry.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
About it so it's good news and you're still good
HERE AT. L. E P d jc.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Could at that good AT that i wanted to say
that if people saw that that that it's going back
to what. You said it gave me. THE creeps i
Know when ed, said that did he cry when he
got shot with? THAT burner i CRIED when i saw
the picture what his back. Look, like yeah so you
can you can carry, anywhere now BUT oh i WOULD
(40:30):
have i called off just. Seeing it, so, uh yeah
that it definitely does a job. ON it i think
that's one of the best things that we're doing here
for the. Non lethally as, AN instructor i have a
lot of PEOPLE doing i don't really know it's sat
to bring their wives in and yes it's not the,
same thing and those OF us i would probably. Carried both,
but uh, you know if you can't stop them with
(40:51):
this uh burner when you watch, the videos uh. It
can it can bring, you down, they say especially once
you hit to the chemical aspect that and then knock
you out for. Thirty minutes, so yeah gives you a
plenty of time to have a cheese burger and then
take off and call.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
The police and jac that's a good segue because, you
know one of the APPLICATIONS that i always think about
is these protests when they're, you know surrounding your car
during the protest in, twenty twenty you got a lot.
Of that maybe not a back of the, application here
but kind of on that. SAME lines i let's say
we know somebody here who is ingrained in the local.
(41:27):
PROTEST industry i don't know what you. CALL it i
guess it's. AN industry i mean they're. Getting funded so
and this was Interesting because i've been following on. Their
website they have a big protest coming up Here, NEXT
saturday i think The no. Kings protests and this this
is right from. Their website it's. Very interesting just when
you think these, aren't organized if you go out to this,
(41:47):
particular site it is extremely organized and. Extremely funded and
in this for, next week they said get ready for the.
Big protest you can even do it while sitting in,
your car so imagine what they're what they're. Encouraging here
it says you can, skip parking walking or standing by
protesting from the comfort of. Your car so this isn't
(42:10):
like park your car in the. Parking lot listen to what.
They're advocating boost spirits at any of these events by
driving by honking, and waving then circle the block and do.
It again look as they're. Advocating here being on the
roadway to, do this, it says plot out your your
(42:31):
own route, between events or join one of the many
caravans that we have by signing up at. This link
car caravans will have a couple of decorated cars on
the front and back uh and then as many cars
in the middle as we can fit. In there if
you're driving, your, car caravan consider? Doing it get this
term for a shift. Or two oh, my god well
(42:52):
they have.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
It mapute is This, The kings so's Say protesting andrew gur,
MAYOR uh i mean controls.
Speaker 4 (43:05):
The place there'll be no REPORTS until i, say so
there'll be you. Know, everything Yeah, controls.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Johnny we should show up at this protest with, the signs.
Right so But, but jason they go on, to say
being a passenger in the car is even better because
you can wave and go out, the window making noise
optional extras having temporary decorations in, your car wearing a
costume while doing this. I e, a mask playing a
(43:32):
trumpet out, the, window uh or tying a streen of
cans to the back of. Your car these are all
great ideas you could. Should consider and then they're having
two sign making uh and car. Decorating parties one of
them is TODAY ed i mean used probably have time
to get. Down there it just goes to, show, you
guys this is extremely. Well organized when you see these
(43:56):
emails that they send, out weekly it's not by. Happen
chances you see people protesting over the highways or you
see them on the Corner. In worthington it is something
that is very very well orchestrated times and dates to
get signs of this, address this and that there's something
behind it that is pushing.
Speaker 4 (44:14):
All, this wow we'll get get their signs Out because
i'll tell you. That's Nothing That's. Zach klein you remember
back they tried you to not Remember The george, floyd
activity but there were like twenty four hundred Arrests, In.
Columbus ohio because, of that and under the guidance of
our of, our mayor they decided to dismiss all of.
Those CHARGES so I know zach was. With that of
(44:37):
all the people that did all the damage and destruction
and everything they did in the in the interest of,
public justice they decided to. Do That, the King the
king ruled there that was. For certain, So yeah king
gent the you know that's a.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
GOOD protest i wonder if we have time to get signs.
Made up it's a WEEK. Away jc maybe we can
get some some not king signs for people to stop
by and grab him here to put in. THEIR yard
i think. WE could i think we could do well.
With those yeah would.
Speaker 4 (45:06):
YEAH good i don't KNOW if i have, a TRUMP
but i do have. A coronet are they trying To
Put burger king out?
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Of, business yes, YOU.
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Know i thought we had to Do. With trump it's.
Speaker 1 (45:18):
All funded by. McDonald dead, all right here, you, Go
