Speaker 1 (00:00):
Have you ever thought about what you would do if
you've heard that bump in the middle of the night.
Is it a child walking down the hall to get
to water or is it a modern day thug looking
to harm you and your family? Is it time to
implement a plan for you and your family if that
were to happen to you tomorrow. Does your family know
what to do for that plan? If you've never thought
(00:23):
of this until now, you absolutely need to have a plan.
Stay tuned for this and much much more and JC
will have the news all next on on Target.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Condrect for you Walking on Target.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
We're broadcasting live from the studios of LAPD Firearms Range
and Training Facility that's located at Triple nine Bethel Road.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I'm your host, Eric and we have JC back today.
Where's the applause? Woo, JC? It is good to have
you back.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
What are the odds last week of both you and
Pap Paul having plumbing issues on the same day?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah, that's that's it is amazing, but it happens serendipitous.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
There you go. But it's good to have you back today.
Got a full show. Guys.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
We are the owners of LUPD Firearms Range and training
facility and are active in law enforcement. But for one
hour on Saturdays, we put together a group of firearm
experts to discuss new products in the market, training tips,
and oftentimes political topics surrounding the Second Amendment. Our commandment, though,
has always been to bring you facts about our industry
and help listeners and customers with safe, responsible ownership of firearms.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
JC, you missed it. I don't know if you heard it. Oh,
but you missed it last week.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Oh no, I heard every every minute of.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Us Stephen guitars killing.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah, he's and honestly, as we put that plug in,
I mean, you know you you should subscribe to the
Real Life. He has the most in depth news. I
think that's that's out there. And I get a lot
of my news stories. Yeah, I condense them for what
he asked. But he's what a knowledgeable guy and what
an asset's Second amendmenty he is.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
He was thrilled to be on the show, said he'd
come on anytime. So it'll be great as things come
down the pike to have him there and to to
you know, be able to use him as an asset.
So absolutely so. Jac Also, I got to give a
shout out to Jim, and you're gonna say, who's Jim.
Jim reached out to me this week from down close
to Cincinnati. Listens to the show every week. Really yeah,
(02:09):
he reached out to me. He had a question and
we talked. We probably talked fifteen to twenty minutes. A
nice guy out there. I wanted to give a shout
out to Jim. If you're listening out there, thanks for listening,
and especially from the people in southern Ohio. Always good
to hear today on the show, Jase, you know, the
world Jeeze, especially now seems a little bit on fire,
if you will, if you just say the least, And
(02:31):
we're going to talk about protecting yourself and your family
and your home. Believe it or not, I can't believe
it's been as many years as it has been since
we talked about this.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
It seems like.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Early on in our shows we talked about it every year,
but it's been many years since we went through how
to protect yourself and your family and your home. And
that's not just oh, you need to buy this gun.
It's about having a plan, a plan, and we're going
to talk about that extensively at twelve thirty, we're going
to talk about the plan and some of the things
to think about, and then we're going to segue into
if you're playing includes a firearm, some of the things
(03:02):
you need to consider and some of it's fascinating. At
the time, it really surprised us.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yeah it did.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
It still does, still does. So we're gonna get to that.
At twelve thirty.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
JC is going to have some news and I JC,
I'm not a swearing type of guy, but I swear.
We are doing the Guns of the Week this week
and we have a trio of them, and you am excited.
You saw those two, JC, But I mean, did I
mean that one too?
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
That one would I tried to shift that would fit
in my briefcase here because I that's just one of
my favorite favorite guns.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yes, so we are going to get to a gun
of the week that's going to be in segment number two.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
That's forty five favorite gun too.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
So oh yes, absolutely, that just came in as a
trade yesterday. Actually, so so what else we got? We
got to think our sponsors, US law Shield always a
great company and a great partner of ours, Jackson Egress Windows,
the same they've been with us j C from the beginning.
They've been a sponsor of the show for as long
as we've been on. Wow Jackson Egress Windows. Certainly, if
you are in the market for a egress window, certainly
(04:00):
give them a call.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Black Wing Shooting Center.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
They have some big news this week. Unfortunately we do
to time and stuff, we weren't able to have Joe
come on with us. But their Suppressor Fest is next Saturday,
the twenty first. They're gonna have reps, different reps out
there and get to go try out different suppressors. And
we talked about this a few weeks ago with those guys.
I mean, it is such a big market right now, it.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Really and there's so many out there, and there's new
designs that are even still coming up and that, yeah,
it'll be great.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
They also have been coming up too on July twenty
sixth at their annual Summer Blast. It's where they have
the car show and everything. And I told him I
was talking to Joe and his wife. I said, I'm
still threatening us going over there and broadcasting from.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
It, and I think that'd be really neat.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
That would be I don't think my son would let
me miss his wedding. But yeah, so that's good mine, Ja.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
I mean, I mean, you'll be there to celebrate other.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Ones, that's right.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I could, I could Yeah, this is July twenty first.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
If they could facebook and during the ceremony, yeah, FaceTime,
we could do that.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah. So okay, well those are all things to consider, John.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
We have a little time to break it to them, right,
so joining me today in the l EPD studios. It's
just JC and I Jac. It just it's just seemed
to be a busy week.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
I don't know why.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I can't put my hand on it. It's not like
I've accomplished a lot this week, but it was just.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
A busy week. A lot of stuff going on.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, a lot of stuff going on. As you you're
gonna talk about one of your first stories here. Had
did a couple interviews this week, which always yeah, which
I'm always obliged to do. I mean, those guys, I mean,
and we you know, the media gets a bad rap
and oftentimes it's well deserved. But we have relationships with
all the stations in Columbus and there is some.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Really really good people.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Within each of those stations absolutely that want the truth out.
And I feel for them. Sometimes sometimes they're younger. They
have to be an expert today on gun safes and
tomorrow they're talking about card and this, and they get
two minutes to do it. They had to become an expert.
And especially when you come into the firearms industry, you
say something wrong and they're gonna you know, everyone's all
over you because they're going to be so we they
(06:02):
know if they come here, we will still steer them
right and I'll take all truth.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Jac I think maybe in our twelve years here, I.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Think maybe one time I had to call them back
and say, hey, look, you know that wasn't the story.
But every time, I mean, they really allow us to
almost write it sometimes.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
So yeah, some of the stations are just so slanted
in one way. The misinformation when I say that that's
that's incorrect information. I don't want to use that misinformation, right,
But yeah, they're wrong, They're wrong in what they're saying.
They're putting it there.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
But there's a lot of these young reporters that want
to get right. I mean they are Rarely does someone
walk in here that I do an interview with that
I'm thinking to myself, this is you know.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
They're looking for you know, a side of this. It's
not true.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
So I mean, I'm you know, hats off to those
guys and it's all of them for six and ten.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
We have a good experience with them all guys. If
you've missed the show, you can always catch the podcast
at six' TEN.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Wtvn it's On, iHeartRadio it's On, iTunes, spotify, spreaker really
any place you get your. Podcast we are out there
also On facebook and on. YouTube jc before the, NEWS
i know you weren't here last, week but we mentioned
it last. Week it's kind of sad news last week
With Bernie carrick.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Dying did you hear?
Speaker 5 (07:14):
That?
Speaker 4 (07:14):
No YEAH i, DID i.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Did, yeah our friends at Buckety firearms let me, know
and yeah that was that was.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Sad, yeah it was. Sad and on on a piece
of good. News THEN i would let you go through your.
News did you see this week WHAT o g C a.
Announced you don't have any of THAT o g C
a about the about Their february.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
MEETING i THOUGHT i sent that to.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
YOU i don't.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Know i'm certain it's a, email BUT i sure it
will be my fiftieth year as a, member so, well
Remember Jac.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
And i'm Not i'm not saying this is the, case
but they, said in honor of your fiftieth year there In,
february the show's coming back To. Columbus oh, wow, yeah
they said the case.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
ECCESS i just knew about the new and that they
have UNLESS i read.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
It but it looks like that's at The Kasic center In.
FEBRUARY i already Told dad we're.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Going so it's how in the world COULD i have
missed that BECAUSE i get all their.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
Stuff BUT i guess.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Now you have been down because you always know WHAT i.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Do BUT i know THEY di sincured that that one
in In, cincinnati which is the largest display In. Ohio
it's the biggest center they have like nine hundred thousand
square feet or something down. There but this will be
better news So, COLUMBUS.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I tell you what would be you know what we
should broadcast live from?
Speaker 4 (08:32):
There well that would be. Good, Yeah well put the
bug in.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
There yeah that would be a good. One, yeah, Perfect all, Right?
Jac what he got for?
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Us, oh just there's there is a lot of news out.
There ONE i think support that hits close to. Home and,
uh this is In, columbus of our outside. Listeners But
channel Four news And columbus had a story last night
and The Columbus police are saying that gun thefts from
automobiles and vehicles are becoming a real. Problem AND i
(09:02):
was really surprised to hear this that they reported that
in the last two, years these are ones that are.
Reported they don't know how many cours are, unreported but
in the last two, years over nine hundred firearms were
reported stolen from vehicles In. Columbus no we're not talking.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
At The Cyber.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Columbus we're talking about.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Suburbs, no we're talking in the city Of, columbus over
nine hundred and this year so, far there've been over
one hundred and eighty stolen from. Vehicles and there is
no excuse for. This if you AND i think one
of the problems is is now we're a constitutional carry.
Stake so there's a lot of people who don't take the,
training don't know the, law don't do. Anything say, HEY
i can just stick a fire in my. Pocket i'm
(09:44):
going to the. Store let me just leave it in the,
car put in the glove. Box it's foolish that one
gun stolen could be used in, many, many many different,
cross it's going.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
To be used against a fellow citizen or an. Officer
and here's something to WHEN i did the interview With
jackie From channel four and this didn't make the, Cut
but that's. OKAY i, said you, know one of the
reasons we could see an, uptick And i'm not you,
know every business is their right to decide whether they.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Should have firearms in.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
THERE i disagree if they say, no you can't have a,
firearm because the bad guys don't. Care BUT i would
imagine with more people carrying under constitutional carry or as
A hl license, holder when they walk up to the
door and they're, like, Oh i've gone out. Shopping, man
this store doesn't let me bring it. In i'm gonna
have to leave this in my. Car and MAYBE i
wasn't prepared to leave it in the car, today how
(10:31):
many of those were stolen in that. SITUATION i, Mean
i'm not gonna go the next step and blame these,
businesses but it certainly.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Doesn't help the, calls you.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
KNOW i, mean it's ultimately the responsibility of that concealed
carry holder or that person carrying the.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Gun and like you, said the bad guys don't care about. That,
Anyway so all you're doing is preventing good guys from
a being one hundred.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Percent NOW i will say, Something, Jason i'm gonna tease
something a little bit BECAUSE i don't have the details,
yet but let's just say that L epd and can
junction with some police. Agencies we're going to help this
a little bit coming up here. Shortly and, uh if
The Columbus City council wants to continue giving money to
broken out tail lights in the, hood we're going.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
To do something that's. Meaningful we're meaningful and that's a
that's a good.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Point the other thing that they were saying in the,
news this Sergeant James fauquall was reporting, that by the,
way that seventy percent of the guns that are recovered
why the, police have been. STOLEN i mean they've been.
STOLEN i, mean.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Come, on, guys lock them, up get a. Car we
have car.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Safes car.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Safe, yes they're, small, lockable they can attach to the
frame of your, seats put them, anywhere but you can
uh at least you, know, yeah something could kind of,
cable but mosts may break them, entry grab them and
leave and this would be making it.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
Difficult so at least get one of. Those they're not even.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Expensive and you've got to be smart, Too, john you
can't have you, know ten stickers on the. BACK i
support THE, Nra Yay smith And, wesson and not expect
your car to to have be looked at out there
when you're in the parking.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
Lot, Absolutely so we gotta get with the.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Program we all do our partnercause you know what it, DOES.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Jc it gives the anti gun people ammunition for you,
know look at these guns, everywhere guns, everywhere.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
And it's something that we can do to effect.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Change seventy of the last. Recovered.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Still, wow that's what you got.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
There, uh this is a kind of a big one
that we were so happy, about and we had the
story before That mexico sued The United. STATES i sued
the manufacturers and they. Lost it was a ten billion dollars,
Lawsuit Supreme court said in a full nine to zero a.
Slam dunc unanimously said THAT placa barred them from. Suing,
(12:42):
well that has not Stopped mexico's President Claudia, scheinbaum who, said,
okay then we'll just go ahead and sue the dealers
that sold the. Firearms SO i don't know what the amount,
is but they are, pursuing, saying, oh that protection The
Lawful commerce And Arms.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Act that's not about the.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Dealers the dealers should have, known should have known that
who they were selling, to we're going to be taken
across the. Border AND i don't know how you know,
that because as everybody, knows or not, everybody but everyone should,
know when you sell a, firearm you have to fill
out a government forty four seventy three. Form these these
were all sold. Legally you have to get permission from
(13:21):
A knicks, check which is THE fbi saying, yep it's
okay to sell, these and those stores on the border
there have been such a, raised such a hoopla Of
mexico about them coming. Across they have.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
To report all of, these all, multiples.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Multiple all multiple, sales more than one fire amount of
time to back to ATF so AN. Fbi so you
fill out those, forms so those have all been. Approved
once it, approved then they get. Sold But mexico says
that's not. Good they should have known that These it will.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
Get thrown out.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Again but it's the whole death by a thousand. Cuts
these these stores are gonna have to defend themselves and
hopefully some of the gun industry steps up and helps.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Them, well when this first came, up just briefly In
february of twenty, four the defendants are, saying, hey you, know,
no this is AGAINST. Placa, well A obama appointed THE
Us District court Judge Rosemary marquez, says, yeah that's, okay
we'll let it go. Forward so that's we'll keep your
post on what's happening. There so, wow and speaking OF,
(14:21):
placa since we won that big case The United states
and slam dunk To, mexico well that didn't sit well
with The. Democrats what you, know they throw out ten
billion dollar. Suit So Senators Richard bloomenthal And Chris. Murphy
murphy's From connecticut And bloomenthal's From. Connecticut, also they didn't appreciate.
That so now they're introducing legislation to repeal The protection Of,
(14:44):
Law Lawful commerce And Arms. Act and if it were to,
pass it would mean any victim of gun violence could
see whoever manufactured the. Gun you can imagine what that
would be, like and they could sue the, sellers and
they could sue. Everybody and also this is what really make.
Sick they, said oh, bye by the, way trace data
in other, words gunn of. Stolen we use this weaving
(15:05):
the police and investigations and tracing who where, this where
these sales are coming from and what's going. On but
they want to make it available to the, public which
would basically blow every every defense and we would have so,
anyway that's.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
DEMOCT i don't know where these guys can come up
with this. Stuff it's just. Ridiculous it is.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
Ridiculous we got a couple of more if we have,
yeah jumped in the end or, oh go ahead to the.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Glock, yeah that's, important and this is this is important
the state Of california and has now passed The California State.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Assembly.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Uh their bill Is Assembly bill eleven twenty. Seven there's
a bill to ban the sale of glock pistols in
the entire state Of. California just ban. Them and, uh
it would ban the sale of any automatic. Pistol but
really they're focusing on the glock that can change into
(15:59):
a fully automatic because anyone who knows any someone, automatic
we do enough work to, it you can make, it
any any of them fire fire full. Auto but, unfortunately
the glocks have been using several mass shootings In. California
so the people to be that don't really know. Guns
it's already illegal town a machine, gun and a sale
of the switches is already prohibited In. California and instead
(16:21):
of really cracking down on the people that use, those
they just, said, Well bloomberg's Every town For Gun safety
went up to a committee hearing and, said, oh we
just need to change these. Pistols and if they can't be,
changed and they can't be sold In, california and they
said that sounds. Good so this would really basically block
the sale of any of the glock has. Switched there
(16:45):
shouldn't use word. Switch they've changed the design of The gen.
Five in the story it said Also gen four is
that they that these switches will not fit into them
without further altering and grinding and doing. Things but, anyway so.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Let me ask you.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
This when you, say because then, this you, said it's
illegal to make a fully automatic firearm right, off.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
We have a part that will right make it Full
so if.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
It's, illegal if you don't, prosecute does that mean it's still?
Illegal because In Franklin, County, ohio we know we've talked about.
It they don't see no one to, prosecute are they
people get caught with these?
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Things they just brush it. Aside so does that still
mean it's? Illegal can we do it? NOW i, MEAN
i don't know it's.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Illegal and, yeah we've talked about the.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Government you, know they won't prosecute anybody that's under twenty
one for, this which really kind of surprised me because
there's a lot of games and.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
They're supposed to go to the locals and we don't do.
Speaker 4 (17:37):
Anything don't do.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
It, So, Jason i'm gonna leave you with this as
we go into a. Break you talk about states that do, it.
Right did you hear the comments this week from The
Brevard county.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Sheriff, no listen to. This i'll leave you with. This
we're go to break.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Now so you know those riots are starting to trickle
across the, country. Right so they did a press conference
and it Was Sheriff. Ivy i'm going to quote the sheriff, now,
someday IF i become, sheriff this is What i'm gonna
be A listen to this quote from. Him if you
hit one of, us you're going to the hospital in
jail and most likely get bitten one of our big,
(18:12):
by one of our big beautiful dogs that we have.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Here if you throw a, brick a.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Firebomb or point a gun at one of our, deputies
we will notify your family where to collect your. Remains
we will kill you graveyard. Dead we're not gonna. Play
that's the. SHERIFF i want to my. County there you
go to trying to protest down. There, yeah, guys we're
gonna jump to a break and we come back on
the other. Side we're gonna talk a little bit About

next five, minutes that's what we're going to talk. About
i'll tee you, up you tell me what your thought
are and take a couple out of your bag, there
BECAUSE i THINK i saw that one slip inside the
bag on the break.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
There, yeah there's there's there's three that we have so.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
That we have multiple of right. Now the forty, FIVE i,
mean how can you not like the forty. Five we
have some police trades that came in actually two different.
Versions we have an Original smith And Wesson. Gen one
forty five and not only comes with three mags in
the original box in excellent, condition it also comes with
(19:40):
a duty holster and a magazine.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Pouch if you want to have.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
A nostalgia it, is it is definitely for you in the.
PRICE jc three ninety.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Nine this is three NINETY, ninemi.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
The Smith WESTON mp forty, five three. Mags, wow the magazine.
Carrier it just, yeah what a, great, great, great great
great firearm it.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
IS i see a couple of people out there, saying,
wow look at. That so so that has definitely went out.
There BUT jc right beside, that though there were some
and we have multiple of that first, one but there were.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Some unissued ones as.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Well this one is the m M p two point zero
and it's two comes with a magazine or three magazines,
holster and mag. Pouch it's a little bit more. EXPENSIVE i,
think what did you, SAY jc five forty, Nine, yes
this is five forty. Nine but these have never been.
Issued these are actually brand.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
New never, ran previously, owned never. Fired it Is. Gordon
oh they. Are these are either once you can't go wrong.
With but this is such a such a good deal
on the on the first one THREE n nine for
the entire Case holster double magazine.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
And three can't beat, THAT. Jc and so this one
has a rubber.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
GRIP i don't know if they all. Do one has
has a rubber grip also with. It and THERE'S u
what great.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
DEALS jc, said here's the. Next, okay you're ready for
this talk about police. Trades will stay in that realm
AND fn please trade. Now this is in your NORMAL
FN F n.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Twelve right TWELVE.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
P it's A p twelve TWELVE p twelve shotgun shock
twelve gate shotgun pomp with the rail on.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Top it's got a rail and it's also doubles as
the as a. SITE i can tell you all about this.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
One this this is really an incredible. Shotgun AND i
learned some things on. THIS i didn't know THAT fn
Bought winchester Repeating, arms so they own. That and what
they did was their first shotgun that they, had THE
TPS yep that they. Had this is an update of.
That it's been around for a. While but what they
what they did was just Because whinchester came out THERE sx.
(21:50):
Shotguns they use some of, that but they they're so
innovative and what they have. Done some people, say, oh, gee, This,
well when you go to to rack the, slide it
has got dual dual, bars so when you go to
rack it, back they, said, gee it feels a little.
Heavy they've engineered a system in there that is recoil
assisted and they said with heavy loads it almost racks.
Itself that they, said, well there's nothing in. It but they,
(22:13):
said the heavier, load the more assist you. Have and
they said it's one of the fastest. Firing it uses
The winchester, chokes so a lot of shotguns just come please,
shotguns but you can use the wind chokes on.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
There it.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Is it's got the cantilevered top on the site rail
so you can actually put on a red dot or
a scope anything you would, want but a red dot
would be. Perfect fiber optic front sight and the also
the iron sight folds. Down if you think that's in
the way of your red, dot you can just flip
it and it folds down. Adjustable the other THING i
(22:47):
like is the safety is in front of the tigger,
guards so you can actually turn it safety off with
the press of the.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
Finger but these are.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Really really, excellent and they said the coil pad really
does a great.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Job and more than one.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Here, OH i should say the price four seventy nine
and includes the soft side of.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Case do they?
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Do you know if they all come with the slings
because the scots two points attached myself and shotguns.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Usually don't have.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
That, yeah that's a real, uh that's a real bonus for.
Us so these are fantastic, GUNS.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Jayc, unfortunately we're down to forty five seconds and this
next one takes about forty five. Minutes but this is
walked in the door this. Week what is it? There
you got thirty?
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Seconds, well, this of course is just the veterable and
absolutely wonderful cult single Action army came. In so it's
got the five and a half inch, barrel you, know case.
Hardened BUT i mean this is it when when When
colt started remanufacturing. These, yep the forty five is the, one.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
And it is And, jac this one came. In it is,
here it is in the used, case a couple of
little things with. IT i, MEAN i wouldn't hesitate shooting
this one from nineteen seventy.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
SIX i BELIEVE i looked up the serial.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Number BUT i only want to come check out if
you've been in the market for a cult single action.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Army, guys we're gonna jump to the. Bottom now we're.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Baking we come back on the other. Side we're going
to talk about the safety for you and your family
in your. Home we're On Talking broadcasting live from the
studio OF Lpd Firearms. Arrange we'll be back right after the.
Break welcome back to On.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Target i'm your. Host.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Eric were joined today in the LIVE lapd studio with
J C jc and. Me you know what heck with
the other guys had a big ADAM. Pa we don't
need THEM jac probation.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Anyway, yeah, Yeah i'm to take.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Him off of, THAT jac before we talk about getting
into protecting yourself and your family in your. Home two
of the, things or actually one THING i wanted to
mention more to come on. THIS i saw a story
this week that was out there about a new study
that claims that states with stricter gun laws have left
juvenile gun. Deaths AND i know there's got to be
(24:51):
a catch with, it but it was in The journal
Of American Medical.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Medicals, yeah AND.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Jama, yeah so it's.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
INTERESTING i, always you, know it's certainly if there's something
out there that that you know says if you do
this is going to affect, change well you got to
listen to.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
It but like.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Always there's probably some caveat to this that you, know
that that you can discover that makes it so it
doesn't sound like it used to.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Be so, yeah that is.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Not a all non political magazine. Too there have been,
many many attempts to make doctors ask you questions about
that to get a listen and then they reported in
so uh, yeah there's.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Program one of the things to J C i forgot
to mention during the gun of the, week we still
have nine millimeter plus people.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Plus that really.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
SURPRISED i, know it's really hard to get its only
sold to a police.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Department, yes we were able to get some of that's.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Great and then the last, thing oh, Jeez jase IF
i got to tell you next. Week we confirmed it
yesterday THE ceo Of. Berna it will be on the.
Show he will Be he'll be calling you next.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
Week so how appropriate With.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
YES i know he had a couple of family things going,
on but now how uh hopefully we will that will work,
out so next week you look forward to.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
That and, yeah if you're not familiar with, us these
are these are. FANTASTIC i won't say, weapon it's a,
launcher but it's uh, yeah it's, uh these are these are.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Incredible so jac statistically, speaking you'll probably go a lifetime
without ever being faced with the home. Invasion you, hope,
so you bore you hope. So but being prepared can
mean the difference between life or. Death and, uh it
is something that we talk about all the time around the,
store and we always, say you don't need to be,
paranoid you just have to be. Prepared today we're going
(26:35):
to go through some of those considerations for the preparedness and,
uh you, know it's funny BECAUSE i can't believe it's
been so it's so. IMPORTANT i can't believe how many
years has been since we talked about.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
This but let's jump into.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
It so it's middle of the, night you hear the
alarm going, off or you hear a window, break.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Or someone walking down your hall hall LIKE i do
you do you have a?
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Plan is?
Speaker 1 (26:58):
It is it the children going to get a glass of?
Water do they know what to do to enact your
emergency plan at? Home those are all things that you
need to think about long before it ever, happens Because
i'm telling, you, guys if you if the first time
you're thinking about what to do is when it's, happening
you're Not you're not going to survive.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
It you're.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Not you're going to be at the wrong end of that.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Outcome it's gonna be, BOY i WISH i would have
done this. Moment so, yeah you just have to be.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Some of those initial. Things do you have a? Plan
do you notice the family? Know do you have a safe?
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Room and that safe room doesn't mean a fortified room
everyone's gonna run to. It it could be the safe
room could be the room of the youngest, child so
you can all congregate. There but it's a plan where
maybe it's the kids coming into your, room, Okay and
you have to think about think those things through and
during those plans. You you need to make sure the
(27:49):
kids know That, hey if in the middle of the,
night mom Or dad, says hey, kids safe plan or
whatever the key word, is it's not the time to
sit there and talk about.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
It and you know why why now you know they
need to.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Have it on.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
It, really this just doesn't say it's a good, idea
it's something almost a necessity in this day and. Age
so these are simple, things but you have to have
that in just like a fire and these are things
that people don't. Do and once you should check your
fire signs, there once, yours you should go through your
plan with your. Kids what happens to the house on,
fire it's it's in the same thing in an. Area
but and if you have an, intruder you need to
(28:24):
have a room where everyone, gathers like you, said safe,
room and there are certain things you need.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
To have in that.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Room and JAY, z that's a great lead into. It
you need to make sure you have the tools to
be able to successfully make it through the. ENCOUNTER i
mean some of the basic, flashlights flashlights that strobes a
pretty good.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Tool maybe a couple of those that, stroke they're blinding
to an.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Intruder if you don't have a landline in your your,
room maybe having your cell phone up.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
There we should charge our cell phones in the, kitchen no.
MORE i mean they get charged in the room right
where we.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Are it's good to know that if you have to
call nine on one from your cell, phone chances are
it's not going the law enforcement's not going to know the.
Address don't assume that you can die on nine on
one and set your phone aside on your cell phone
and they're going to know where to. Come if that,
doesn't you, know even if they are able to ping,
it it's not something that's going to happen super. Quick hearing, protection.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Jac you're the one who brought that, Up and AGAIN
i WISH i would invented, that BUT i.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
DIDN'T i read an. Article in the article just said,
hey you know where do you keep your hearing? Protection
AND i, said, oh in my cases and you, know
in the. Basement, no it needs to be in your.
Bedroom electronic hearing. Protection you don't have to spend the
five hundred dollars on some of the. Stuff you can
get good electronic hearing. Protection you know in a thirty
forty dollars, range AND i have one for my. Wife
(29:45):
one for, Me it allows you to hear up to five.
Times that magnifies the. Sound you can hear someone when
they first come. In those two things give you a
notification you know where people, are but it also protects your.
Hearing if you ever did have to discharge your, firearm believe,
me at nighttime in a quiet, house just charge to a.
Firearm that's an experience you won't. Forget so you really
need to have. It it's really.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Important, yeah and you, know and it's the goal is
to survive the, encounter to get you and your family.
Out and really the goal should be to get you
and your family out without harm to yourself or even to.
THAT i, mean you don't want to have to shoot
somebody or have to harm. Somebody so you think about
all of those things that put you in the best.
Scenario and sometimes surviving that means getting. OUT i mean
(30:29):
sometimes it doesn't, mean you, know sticking around is having
a plan to get. Out if it's a fire, situation
certainly the plans should be to get. Out other, considerations
do you have teenagers in the house who might be
coming home, LATE i, mean you, know have a plan
so they know how to come in the house Without
dad not knowing if it's a good guy or bag
a guy coming. In you, know it's simply thinking through
(30:50):
these things like anything, else long before they would.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Happen and my personal experience was when my son was
got a sphaitcase of strup, throat which we did not.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
No it was A.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
SATURDAY i heard someone walking down my hall right towards
my bedroom quietly AND i, went what the? Heck AND
i had no idea he didn't call us because it
was two thirty in the. Morning and, unfortunately at that
TIME i had a laser on my gone not a.
Flashlight do a bad. MISTAKE i should have had a.
Flashlight SO i WHEN i heard it was, BODY i shouted,
(31:24):
out who's there and in a voice THAT i couldn't even,
recognize it's Me, dad which is his throat almost closed In,
nope not my. Son SO i opened up the, door
went on the, floor and there with my only son
had a red dot on a forty five pointed right
at his. Chest and WHEN i saw who it, was
it just shook me up so. Badly so here's the
(31:45):
advantage of a. LIGHT a light number one will blind
at the person and also will it will you can
let you see the. Surroundings it illuminates the. Surroundings it'll
blind the person coming at. You and also if you
do have to, fire then it'll race a lot of
the muscle flash because you don't see muscleflash every time
you pull the. Trigger but you, know shooting ranger off the,
(32:06):
daylight you don't see it because of the ambient. Lighting
it provides the ambient, lighting so it identifies he helps
you aim the gun and cut down the muscle, flash
and will blind the. Intruder these are all really really good.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Things they.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Are and the other thing too is think about what
positions around your house gives you the best tactical. Advantage
you know your house better than the bad, Guy you
know the layout better than the bad.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Guy use things to your.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Advantage when we talk about our situational awareness, class use
things to your. Advantage if you can stand at the
top of your stair and see the reflection in the
fireplace and see the whole family room because of, that
use that to your. Advantage the reflection off of, TVs
there's a lot of. Things you'll be. Surprised go into
these different spots when it's dark out and see the
advantage that you can have over a bad.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Guy you, know hear the squeaks on our, floor which
we kind of mapped out in our mind as the
person was walking down the. Hall we couldn't have heard
that without our protective. Hearing they're electronic hearing, devices but
that really magnified and it really is an.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Advantage and the other thing, Too And, dad you, know
taught this to me long time. Ago you, know the
top of your stairs probably is not a bad. Place
it is that that fatal funnel that we always worry
about going. Into but turn it against the bad. Guy
if you're at the top of your stairs and they don't.
Speaker 3 (33:17):
Know if you're laying down at the tap the, stairs
if you're standing up at the top of your, stairs
you just have a larger. Target so you get down
and you peer over those stairs and you have the total.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Advantage and our arrange, Manager, doug he always, said my
plan is to go to the top of the. Stairs
i'm gonna yell down to the bad. Guy don't come up.
Here you take whatever you, want make sure you set
the door on the way, out don't let the cat.
Out but you, know don't basically line in the. Stand
you ain't coming past, this you, know.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
Good, good good. Advice other things that you could, do
and we talked about in one of the. Classes we
have have an extra set of keys there and if
you have one of those glow sticks for you break them. Apart,
yeah well tell the tell the, police, hey if you
need to get in you know, Here i'm going to
throw this out out the window and it's easily a
scene by the police when they.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Arrive be detailed like.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
That try to figure out CAN i barricade my door
because they're gonna have to get through it and you're
Gonna we went ahead and put a solid door on
our bedroom, door.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
And it also has a.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
LOCK, yep this is a dead ball, lock so that
will least some additional. One BUT i also have a heavy.
DRESSER i cand pushing in front of. It but you
need that.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Time AND, jc you made a good point about the
whole interaction with law enforcement when you down nine one.
One i've always said this to my family and especially
if j'h'm out and, about but even at, home if
you're not the one dial nine one one as a family,
member make sure that they're telling law enforcement things that
can help, One, hey my dad is.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Armed my dad's an. Officer my dad is a concealed carry.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Holder he has a, firearm and this is what he's,
wearing or this is where he's. At have the kids
describe where they're. At we're in the bedroom at the
top right. Corner let give yourself that advantage to law
enforcement so they know upon coming. In, okay the famili's
hunkered down, here so we know anyone who's not there
it is probably shouldn't be. Here those are all things
(35:03):
that you got to think ahead about at the time
under the most stressful part of you know you ever
might see in your. Life you're not gonna think about those.
Things think about that ahead of. Time, No, hey if
it means a, checklist do a check.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Checklist the other.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Thing too that we talk about is covering, concealment and
we talk about these in some of our. Classes you,
know concealment, Is, Hey i'm hiding behind a. Door that's
a real thin. Door you might not be able to see,
me but that's not good cover if a bad guy
shoots through. It cover is something that's going to protect
you if bullets or something's being thrown your.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
Way that type of. Thing think about.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
That oh, yeah we do one of the best. Places of,
course that's would necessarily but hiding behind your.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Hot water, here, yeah we'll go through.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
That and back in the old days we also used
to say water beds and get down by your water.
BED i don't think too many people have water beds,
anymore but it certainly stops about anything that would be
thrown at.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
You but, yeah so you need to think of.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
It and this is just not it's just not in
the middle of the.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
NIGHT i, MEAN i think about what AM i going
to do If i'm on the lawn mooard and something
happens AND i see a bad guy running IN i,
know the. FAMILIES i, mean you kind of think through these,
things and in that, case cover and. Concealment you look
at your. VEHICLE i, mean most handgun rounds will go
through the doors of a.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Car but if you.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Can stand behind the engine block or behind you, know
maybe cross behind some of the wheel, stuff you, know
you have a better luck. There you, know a hollow
door is not going to stop a.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Bullet, Guys and, surprisingly WHEN i was a department correction
training and they did some practice with some doors AND
i was there everyone's amazed that full metal. JACKET a
nine millimeter penetrated both both sides of the door of
a for the driver's, side and penetrated the inner door
of the first, panel and then at the. Outside didn't
(36:46):
go all the way, through but there was a distinctive
dent on the outside of the. Door BUT i went
through three steel panels on the way. There so you,
know just you have to be able to realize these.
Things and when you take, cover, yep tyke cover behind
your re engine block, right not the, door that's.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Right good.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Idea so, guys, basically if you have a, plan rehearse that,
plan you can practice that. Plan you, know make sure
the family knows. It have the right equipment at your.
Hand don't don't be caught when you wake up in
the middle of the night and man your your guns
down there and you don't have a flashlight in your.
Bedroom have a, plan make sure you have the equipment.
There be, observant not. Complacent you go to bed and
(37:26):
you see a truck parked out there between houses on
the road that you know is not the, neighbors take
note of, that you, know don't don't just let it
go by the, wayside.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
And you need a quick access safe and there's so
many out there now they're so. Reliable you need to
have that so no one can get to. It but
once you're in that, situation you know that it's it's
gonna be there and you're gonna be able to access.
It but run of the through of the kids was
actually fun when they were a little, er when we, going,
hey let's go to the. Fire, wait here's what we're
gonna do with the, fire and of course they were
all Gig.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Did you really push them out the? Window well we.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Did, yeah we had casement windows not to open a
little bit harder to get, out but we put a
small sturdy table right in front of. It, actually and
THEN i always keep an extra quote or something under
the bed to throw out because there are bushes down.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
There and, yeah which. Amazing and you live on the
third story.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Too it was a twelve story high rise and yeah
it was a, thick thick, no but, yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Right you think these things.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Through absolutely GUIDs this up to a.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Break when we come back on either, side if you're
considering a firearm for home, protection we're gonna talk about
what might be the BEST ammo and the best firearm for.
That we're going to talk at bacasting live from the
studios OF Lapd firearms And. Range we'll be back after the.
BREAK a going back on, Talking i'm. Yours eric joined
today in THE lpd. Studio IT'S jc AND i talking
about home, Protection. Jacy that was a good segment about
(38:38):
awareness and some things to think. About one of the things,
though if you choose to have a firearm for as
part of your protection playing in your. Home we talked
about this several years. Ago there are some things THAT
i would definitely.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Look, at and there's some things that you probably shouldn't
look at that you might be.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Surprised, yeah, absolutely there's a lot of. Stuff one of
the things is what arm are you going to? Have
andouse can they book it? TO i, mean, yeah whoever
in your house can work that and knows how to do.
That and also the choice of, caliber which was kind
Of this is the one thing that surprised me that
was from a couple of years. Ago Gun test magazine
(39:16):
wanted to, say, hey what can we? Do how much
penetration are you going to get from your defensive fire
AND i mean they started the three eighty was the
smallest round that they went up.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
To but they built walls just like regular.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Construction, walls and they tested everything up and as you can,
imagine you, know when you get to a three eighties
not going to penetrate as much as a nine millimeter
or certainly not in the three fifty seven.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
Magnum but they tested all of.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
These remember there's an attorney attached to every bullet you,
fire so if it escapes your house and go, someplace,
well that's.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
On you, first if you live in an, apartment, right.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Exactly so the thing that surprised me was after they did,
this even the lowly three eighty in the full metal,
jacket which is oftentimes recommended because of the velocity and
making it, expand it penetrated like six inches of. Drywall
WHEN i went six, INCHES i mean nine milimeters just
went through through. Everything AND i know that in full mental,
(40:09):
jacket if it doesn't hit a stutter or, anything and
go right through one end of the house all the
way to the, other if all it's going to penetrate his.
Speaker 4 (40:14):
Drywall.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Right the one that surprised me Even i'll jump to
the end of, this because of the time they said
what the. HECKS a lot of people have. Ars let's test.
This you, go geez our rifle, Cartridge, well believe it or.
Not the two two three with the fifty five grain
hollow point penetrated two, inches the three eighty penetrated six
(40:37):
and it is because it comes out so fast that
when it hit the dry, wall by the time it
hit the second, one it just absolutely. Disintegrated AND i
was absolutely. Amazed and they said a lot of people use,
that but if you use the wrong ammunition and get
the you know eight fifty, five you, know steel, core you,
know a green tip that's going to keep on and travel.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
One but with the fifty five grain, hollowpoint they said
it was a very very very, effective easy to.
Speaker 2 (41:03):
Use people were. Surprised people are. Surprised but if you
now loud wise it's going to be.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Loud to be.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Loud, Yeah but but really when we did, that when
we read that study back, THEN i mean it was a.
Surprise and you know a lot of times now the
modern supporting rifle was one of the most common rifles out.
There so THERE'S i, mean anybody can pick it up
and shoot. It a spouse or somebody else in the household,
too so it might be something to seriously consider out.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
There one of the things.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
We had hollow, point that's what you got to.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
Use one of the things we had down at the
time for ease of use was. Revolvers you, know if
you maybe have a spouse that's not a gun person and,
stuff certainly easy to train them up on that and
get them comfortable on.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
That talk about shotguns, There.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Jacon's everyone, says you, know our illustrious last president, said
just shoot a couple the front.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
Door, yeah who knows who's out, there but just go
ahead and shoot a couple of rounds to the front.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Door.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Yeah it was surprising how devastating a twelve gage. Was
not only drive aall they shot at the corner of the,
door ripped all of the studying and the case and
frame into.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
PIECES i, mean it just tore apart the whole.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
Thing it travels for a long, way and unless you're
right on your, target it can do a lot of.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Damage and you might, Say i'm going to put bird
shot in, there but in some of those, tests the
birch shots were bouncing around and stuff.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
Too i'm shaing and hitting.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
Things and we found that in our, range which is
why we can't let them shoot regular shot. Anymore it
was bouncing off stuff And i'm shooting iron.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Lights it could bounce, off it could bounce off the hardwood.
FLOORS i mean that's something to. CONSIDER i, mean if you, think,
Oh i'm not going to use a slug or double
lot BECAUSE i don't want as much, penetration and by.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Twelve, gays, great it's really really. Powerful but in a
home we even, recommended you, know twenty gays something a
little bit smaller unless. Recoil if you have someone else
who's shooting it that can still handle, that and you
can still get slugs and all sorts of special home
to fancy amo if you hit, something that's. Great but
a lot of people think that just spreads out right
off the, bat but it.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Doesn't.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
It we're just talking a little bit ago about at
fifteen yards some of The amoni spread five. INCHES i,
mean it takes a while for that pattern to, Spread
so you, know.
Speaker 4 (43:07):
Just just be.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
Careful and, look there's so much research out. There you
can see exactly what.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
Jaz so you know what we're saying that for a
maybe a non, shooter a revolver not bad we're saying
that at twelve.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Gage is a.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Lot what about the four ten, REVOLVERS i mean The Smithson,
governor The judge From taurus that seems to maybe fit in.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
THERE i mean it fits in. There and they do
spread out a little faster simply because the right shorter.
Barrel and, yes you can put in and some of.
Them if you use The, governor you can use you,
know forty FIVE acp and moon. Clips you haven't used
forty five long. Cold you can use four ten, shotguns
Speaker 4 (43:44):
Some of them
