Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, you happy about the draft for the Bengals. I mean,
I don't know how much you've even been paying attention.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm I'm I'm happy about the after draft for the Bengals.
They came along and made a little motion there after
everything was over. I honestly, I probably got more of
a thrill just, you know, keeping up with the headlines
for the Browns. I'm like, Okay, I suddenly care about
what the Browns running game is going to look like
after picking up mister Jenkins. Yeah, question junkins. I always

(00:27):
say his name Judkins. I don't know why. I'm I'm
really looking forward to seeing him turn loose at an
NFL level because Heaven knows they need it. And uh,
they're with Flacco in there for one year. Uh, they've
got some passing options now, and now they've got an
opportunity to run the ball. If the offensive line holds up, Cleveland,

(00:48):
Cleveland may finally make a few people proud this season.
Do you think I think they've got a shot. Yeah,
even with Chador there is he there? Well, he got drafted, Yes,
sure he did.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I don't understand your joke.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm so said, Well, first of all, he did you
see the prank call, Well, yeah, I know that was hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
As far as as far as everything connected to this, yes,
I'm very aware of literally every facet of what happened with.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
This prank call. And I saw the coaches kids sook
responsibility for it, you know, and you know they apologize
and all that. But here's the thing. When he does
actually get drafted and the Browns dopey, he turns it
into a blasted joke. I'm sorry if I have to
hear one more racism claim, I am my head's just
going to explode.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Well that that clearly is the dumbest angle I have
ever heard in my entire life. And I don't know
who started it, but I just I'm so tired of
that card, especially when it has I mean, it has
less than any kind of merit. I mean, it hasn't
the first guy well first of it, just it makes
no sense. What did I hear somebody say there have

(01:57):
been more millionaires from the NFL made for black men
in this country in then any other industry that is
available right now. I heard that one.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I'm not even sure what the racial makeup of the
league is. I know there's a lot of black guys
that are playing in the NFL. The NBA, i'm assuming
is majority black. I'm sick of people who automatically go
to this ridiculous racism garbage because they don't get their way.
You know, Colin Kaepernick is not in the NFL because
of racism. You realize that, right, Oh my god, I'm

(02:30):
just sick of Look, maybe people didn't want him, maybe
they didn't like it. Maybe it's his manner, maybe it's
his dad. For all we know. Well, for whatever reason,
he didn't make it till the fifth round. But at
least he made it. And there are thousands of people
who wish they were him. So shut up, sit out,
and cash the check. So if you're a.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Browns fan, and I know we got a lot that
listen eight to one WTV and one eight hundred six
to ten WATV and the Legacy Retirement Group dot com
phone lines, if you have a thought on him specifically
or you know, I don't know. I just because there's
so much hoop loss surrounding him. That's a legendary, correct,

(03:10):
I mean, I I his what he was doing on Friday.
Clearly that was a clip from that and I played
you know, some sort of after the first day that
he didn't get taken and it was brutal. Social media
was so brutal with him self inflicted possibly, I mean,
you take your but you know, to say that teams

(03:33):
didn't want to deal with him because they're going to
deal with his dad. I mean, think about this. This
is this is absolutely legit. Now I don't know for
sure if this would happen, but this is a legit
scenario in my mind, and it was. It was run
up the flagpole.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Here.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Imagine that the starter from said team, any of the teams,
is sagging for whatever reason. You know, he's having a
bad week, a bad two weeks, three weeks, whatever it is.
And you know here we have Shadu or just hanging
out on the sidelines. Now you can you really, can
you envision Dion going on ESPN or anyone who would

(04:10):
listen to him and say, my son, it needs a
shot at this. Clearly blah blah blah's not getting it done.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Now.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
I don't know for sure if he's that brash or
he but but can you envision Dion being that way?
Because I can now I don't know for sure. But
then the also the interview process. There's a lot of
talk about some of the dumb stuff that he said, yep,
during the interview process with regard to these teams, and
they're going, I don't want anything to do with this.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
And the way he said it too, he's had every
educational opportunity in life, and the way he presented himself
was also questioned by a lot of people. Yeah, and
I you know, I say that about the Ohio State
football team all the time. Make these guys take an
articulation class before you put them in front of the camera.
It is a university after all, and God bless them

(04:57):
for doing what they've done on the field. But when
they on camera and they sound like, you know, they
just came out of third grade and you know, po
dunk Alabama, that's that is not a good reflection on
the school.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I can also tell you that a lot of players
on a lot of teams are He's the last person
that they're probably gonna want to see coming. So I know,
the management, you know, the ownership on down is going
this guy is not even close to worth what the
type of crap that he's going to bring to my
locker room. And you have a guy that is gonna be.

(05:32):
He's got a rap song and I don't know. It's
called perfect timing. Have you heard it? I can't understand it.
Listen to this. This is legit. This is not a work.
I'm not messing around. This is literally his rap song.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
That told me bust out my IP, perfect time, goddam,
guess up on my neck and stay son. There's mist
never had a rama. Jurich has a come man. I
went and got that new man back.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
I stayed there.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
They told me bust on my AP's perfect time. Got
them do?

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I can't understand it.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
I don't even know what he's saying to bust them
on my neckers. I don't know it's shining.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
I know something shining.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
But apparently that's pretty much how he talks all the time,
which is part of the interview process, which is one
of the things that made him look bad to some
of these coaches. I got. I looked up the lyrics.
Oh you did, okay.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
They told me bust down my AP, perfect timing.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Bust down my AP is that which is AP?

Speaker 5 (06:32):
I don't know, got them begets up on my neck?
I stay shining. Okay, it's never hot around here. Because
my jewelry changed the climate. I went because all that ice,
I went and got the new mayback. I stay grinding,
maybeck my back, maybe car whatever I don't I mean,

(06:52):
And then it.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Repeats put that in Google translates if you can get English.
Good lord. I'm just saying I had this, I would
have the same feeling about him coming my team is
you know, I had, frankly about Lebron James Kid coming
to the Ohio State Book guys basketball team. I wouldn't
want him on the team simply because Lebron would think
he was running the show.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah as far as and yeah exactly. You could see
Dion trying to do that, especially as an owner, and
they're talking to their coaches. Their coaches are going, hey, man,
I don't know that we're gonna want anything to do
with this. And I somehow, some way, the Browns ended up.
I have a lot of friends who are Browns fans
who are not happy.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
They're like, oh, no, we.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Got this circus. Are you serious? Like we don't need
this now. Look, it would be his feather in his
cap if he ended up being the best thing since
sliced bread. But man, he's got a lot of work
to do.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Now, well, the narrative has already started to off hold
the negative path. I mean, you know between the rap
that you just played.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Think about preseason two. By the way, Yeah, with him playing,
it'll be the most watched preseason games in the history
of preseason.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I would have mad, he's already proven himself as a quarterback.
Why do you even have them in their preseason? He
could get injured before the season starts. That's racism, the legendary.
They also said, you know he went one forty fourth.
They retired that draft position. Now next year it will
go from one forty three to one forty five.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
They retired one forty four.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
By the way, have they pre retired as Jersey in
Cleveland yet? Has that been done?

Speaker 3 (08:24):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:25):
They should and say he'll be the only one ever
at John, welcome to the show.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Just calling in. Yeah, they just made a big mistake.
This brought on another Deshaun Watton.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Are you a Browns fan, John, I have been.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
A Browns fan since I was five years old.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Okay, well fair enough, So what so you think it
is an enormous mistake?

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Then, oh, I think it's the biggest mistake. Well, the
second biggest mistake they e were made.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Okay, all right, very good, all right. You can hear
us in the background.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Here radio five years old. You can't even hear the
tears in his voice, which is kind of good. I mean,
I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
It is kind of surprising that we didn't hear he
didn't sound painful enough to Oh.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
I thought i'd hear a little crying. Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I'm beside myself with Jack Sawyer and Will Howard being
drafted by.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
The Steelers lost the Steelers. Now that's I lost my
mind on Saturday. I am so so so happy that
they ended up with a real team, and the Steelers
all are They've they've faltered, they've had a rough couple
of seasons that they can be that Steel Curtain team
that I grew up watching and up and this was
too wonderful, ad dition.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
It's gonna be fun, Yes, it's gonna be fun being
a Steeler fan this year, hopefully. And also when you
go down the list of Buckeyes taken in this draft,
the teams that took him, you know, the Bucks, the
Viking of course, a Mecca Buca goes first round to
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I'm happy. Well, I know you

(10:03):
wanted him, right, is that what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I would love to have seen him either the North
or South as long as we was in Ohio. The
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I just first of all Orange, you know,
I just I've never been a fan.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Guarantee he's happy because it's a nice climate in Tampa Bay.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
It probably comes with a nice paycheck too.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Then you got the Vikings, the Lions, the Chiefs, the Browns,
the Patriots, the Colts, the Cardinals, Panthers, Steelers, Rams Bill's Cardinals, Steelers.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
This is a.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
I mean, you got fourteen Buckeyes taken in the draft.
I'm so happy for all of them. And how good
does that look to the rest of the country.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
You recruiting just went off the charts. I mean, they're
not going to have anybody the next three seasons. People
should be piling up to play at Ohio State University
after fourteen going.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Oh and that's one of the reasons a lot of
people will try to come here anyway. They know that
we send a lot of guys to play on Sunday.
So that's part of, if not most of the moteation
there certainly with Will Howard again, I'm I like that.
I kind of like that he went so late because
the expectations are much much lower for somebody like him.

(11:14):
He goes first round, and that would have been the
shock of the century, by the way, had he went
first round. But you got a guy who's four thousand
plus passing yards, he's got a national championship under his
belt after playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. I was
a little surprised that he went that late, but I'm
so happy that the Steelers got him.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Was Seth McLaughlin part of your fourteen list? No, because
he did not get drafted in the draft. That's what
I was talking about earlier when I said the Bengals
after draft action, they picked him up, a center from
Ohio State. We'll go to the Bengals, right, So that's
that's wonderful. At least I've got that.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, officially, he will be undrafted officially, but then they
pick him up, so he must have been. He was
the fifteenth one that they were saying there were fifteen
Bucks guys that were up for the draft, and it
would have tied history had a fifteenth been drafted. So
even though he gets taken. He's not officially drafted or whatever.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
But I'm thinking about Sanders in Cleveland as I'm sitting here,
and you know, I wonder if he'll be there more
than a year, because, honestly, I'm wondering if Flacco, who's
got some Tom Brady plans man he's he's still a
good quarterback as far as we know, and if he
goes out there and performs and gets to feel in
it again, he may not want to leave after one season.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
We'll see, That's yeah, we will see.
