Speaker 1 (00:00):
At the Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement Field Office. That
happened this morning, and so let's get the very latest.
Jim Ryan from ABC News, who's in Dallas, is joining
us now and Jim, welcome again to the Mark Blazer Show.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
How you been Hi you Mark? I mean, it was
a chaotic scene for sure this morning outside that ICE
detention facility just northwest of downtown Dallas on a very
busy freeway. Bullets flying, people scrambling running for cover, ICE
agents hitting the floor, detainees who were ending up in
the line of fire. That chaos now has continued right
into the afternoon. Not only do we not know who

(00:34):
the shooter was, no identity on that person. We don't
have a firm number on how many people were actually
killed now. Initially, the police said this morning that one
detainee one person had been killed and two others were wounded,
that the shooter had taken his own life when police
moved in on him. That still is holding. The sniper
apparently is dead. He was shooting down from an elevated position.

(00:55):
But there's a dispute as to whether one detainee two
detainees were killed. We do know what third was wounded,
So a lot of the tails to untangle here, Mark, Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I thought I saw earlier today they had named somebody
as you know what it was like, and I was
walking by a TV that so clearly that was not
what I thought that I saw. But as far as
you know, the people, so they're still not saying who
is actually they I know from you know, this morning

(01:28):
when they did the press or they said that no
law enforcement had been killed and or even shot, and
so we I mean, just by deduction alone, it had
to be the detainees who they were in a van
or something along those lines.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Well, either being put into a van or taken out
of a van, some sort of transfer process there in
the in the sally Port, you know the transfer area
there there's the bullets coming down essentially from above by
somebody who was on an adjacent building up on the roof.
Apparently that's where the police zeroed in and we're able
to get up there and stop the whole thing from
having But witnesses say that ten fifteen, maybe twenty bullets

(02:07):
were fired. They heard them raining down from above like this.
So a crazy situation. But you're right, so we know
the three people in the detention facility were shot two
of them, maybe one of them shot and killed. And
as Senator Ted Cruz said this morning, I mean it's

(02:27):
a fair inference that those people were detainees and not
contractors or somebody else working there in the facility.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Did they also specify because I also saw as another
as this crazy environment landscape that we're in navigating right now,
Jim that there were apparently rounds found near the suspected
shooter containing messages that are anti ice in nature. Is
there truth to that?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Well, yes, kash Ptel, the FBI director posted on his
page on x posted there an image of shell casings.
It looked like hunting rifle of shell casings that were
strung together, and one of them literally had anti ice
written on the side of it and felt tip or something,
and so yeah, I mean that's what that evidence does

(03:19):
show that Patel was putting out there. So yeah, this
seems to be the case. The FBI Specialation in charge
of the Dallas office said that that was the case
as well, that these messages had been scrawled on to
at least one of the shellocasing. We saw a similar
situation in Utah in the Charlie Kirk shooting that shellcasings
had messages written on them.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's why I was talking about this.
This landscape we're navigating in right now is absolutely not
only confusing, disturbing, and then incredibly confusing. And it's like,
you know, you just want to Yeah, you get all
the different depending on the types of news sources you get,
you know, different reports and so on, which is why
I was looking for clarification there. But seems like that's

(04:01):
the very latest and that's all we have as of
right now. I'm sure more details will will surface as
they Is there another press or schedule that you're aware
of or anything along those lines.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
No, not this afternoon. They said this morning that nothing
else would be forthcoming, but that can always change.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Okay, very good out of Dallas, ABC News Dallas, Actually,
Jim Ryan, Jim, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Thanks Martin.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
We'll see you all right,
