Speaker 1 (00:00):
President Trump is not dead, which over the weekend last weekend,
if you looked at social media, they all that had
him in the ground. I mean because he wasn't. He
had taken two days where he wasn't doing a press conference.
I guess that's where.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Two days, two days to two months.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
The stupidest thing ever. Over the weekend, you got Jen Saki,
you got Chuck Todd talking about, hey, he's got a
bruise on the back of his hand and he's dying.
These are the same people, or he's dead, and these
are the same people that told you no Joe Biden
ship shape as he's walking around shaking hands with a ghost,
or he's being led he's being led off stage by

(00:42):
Barack Obama because he doesn't know where he's going. He's
tripping up the steps. He's clearly it's the thing. Man,
We watch him talk. We watched during the debate where
they ended up doing the they put the big long
the hook out there and went that's all folks, now,
let's insert Kamma. You know who is uh. I don't
know if she's really any smarter than Joe quite frankly.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
And the Democrats are worried about democracy, but yet they
just anointed Kamala Harris.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yes, and then over the weekend they're saying, like, you
got these two boobs that are saying that stuff about Trump,
and they're the ones telling you for years, dope hip Jape,
he's sharp as a sharp as attack. Joe's great. I mean,
he's the energy's off the tap. Come on. We watched
John with KJP Karine John p who who like all

(01:31):
she did, and I get it with her. She's got
a strut out there and put on her brave fish
lie through her teeth, lie through her cute face because
I actually think she's cute. I'll say it anyway. So
that brings us to DC and we're watching what happened
with you know, the National Guard there, and I think,
to the tune of what eight hundred truths, I don't know,

(01:53):
something like that. I guess the numbers technically irrelevant. And
now Chicago's in the crosshairs and we're watching j. Pritsker
run his mouth and that mayor there in Chicago saying
no troops, no troops. In other words, you're gone. We
want Mayhem, we want Mayhem. It's the stupidest thing ever.
So you're somebody who's in DC kind of a lot.

(02:16):
Congressman Troy Palterson, would you say it's safer there, I mean, yeah, it.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Is incredible, Like the turnaround. The turnaround's phenomenal. Look, I'm
more worried about our staff. Three members of Congress have
been carjacked just down the street from the Capitol in
the past. But my staff, their kids, they're twenty. I
mean a twenty one year old or twenty year old
intern that was working for Congressman Ron Estes was shot

(02:43):
in the crossfire of a gunfight between teenagers and killed
last month. So this has been completely game changing. I mean,
in the winter time, you let your staff leave, why
it still daylight to walk down to where they lived.
Most of them lived down in the Navy Yard. My
chief of staff in DC, for the first time since
she's been there, has ridden the Metro twice. The second

(03:08):
time she wrote it, she even carried her purse. And
you don't see the National Guard on every corner. I
didn't see one. I never encountered one of them. But
they don't have long guns. Laura, my chief of staff,
was just saying, like the presence alone of knowing that
you're going to get on the metro. You're going to

(03:28):
be safe. They're there, they're inside the metro. It's all good.
And it's changed the whole attitude there in DC with
you know, the workers there, the people that you know
come there and visit too. I mean, you've been there
and visit. You saw some of the stuff that went
on down there.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
So in January when I was there and I and
I got to I got to be there for what
I think was one of the top three biggest moments
of my life certification fourth fourth big maybe one of
the top four because my children being born and being married,
we are right there. But to watch Kamala Harris have
to sign off on Trump kicking her ass was one

(04:05):
of the best things I've ever witnessed. And it was
it was because you you you got me into the
chamber and man, old man, was that cool. So walking
from Navy Yard to the Capitol, which is just under
a mile, yep. And I but if you'll remember, we
had like a snowstorm. It's like eight inches of snow

(04:25):
or something silly, you like dress shoes and I'm like
going to and I walked because trying to get any
like a cab or anybody drive you or it was
impossible because this the whole city was almost kind of
at a standstill because of how much snow. So I walked,
I didn't have any trouble. But it was also daylight,

(04:48):
and it also just snowed eight inches. I don't know,
is there a lot of crime going on when there's
eight inches of snow and it's not very warm.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
It's too Yeah. But and a couple of folks from
the dis that we're there in DC visiting or taking
gives back to school. I mean they've even commented how
different it was. And look, that's what matters. It's the
perception that's out there that people feel safe again what
the you know, legacy media is doing as far as

(05:15):
having them with long guns and all this kind of stuff.
Another one of my staff was walking them all over
the weekend with his fiance encountered them kind, hey, how's
it going. You have a nice day? Beautiful out. So
it's it's been game changing. So just their presence, just
their presence and the DC mayor your browser. I mean,

(05:39):
she's accepted this, I mean, and she likes it.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Is that legit like because I saw that it seems.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
She's getting she's getting hammered, right, she coming around and
then she's going to raise the pay for the Metro
DC police. I mean she's bringing back everything that the
council has taken away from their police force. And look,
you and I are a person friends with some of
these guys here Brian Steele, and you have him on
and I communicate a good bit with him. I mean,

(06:05):
you see what these guys are dealing with in Columbus,
it's awful.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
So then with what's going on in DC, I don't
know what the plan is or that you're even privy
to how long they're going to be there.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I mean there are times coming up so that there
was a set time that they were going to be there.
I think right now it's a kind of wait and see.
Let's see, let's stay on the path that we were on.
The deadline's coming up of when it was supposed to
be done. And I think your Bowser, the mayor is
trying to get her house in order.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
To So that's the question because when they leave, does
the crime then unpause, because it will be up to
her and then obviously Metro Police to do and take
over and start to be But I feel like Troy
that it would require several hundred more police officers than

(07:03):
being hired and on the streets because to be everywhere,
which is what's happening right now. If there isn't a
police officer, there's National Guard, right and it's all in
that district of Columbia area, which it's a highly populated area,
and we know it's a lot of youth that are
committing these crimes, yes, that get a slap on the
wrist or even nothing if they're caught doing something.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah. I was watching Brian Steele s line be An
interviewed and that that's kind of what he's saying here
in Columbus, you know, and they know it. They're letting
them out. I mean they're getting them in, their teenage kids,
they're getting them in. Then they let them out and
it just starts all over again.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
I just pray that Bowser, somehow it doesn't just turn
right back into well, there we are. We're literally within
one week we're right back to where we were. And
then you know, Laura can't ride yeah, you know or whatever.
Fill in the blank, anybody for that.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Matt, Yeah, So again, I caught the local news there.
I think it was Tuesday night and she was getting
slammed by her counsel. But she was standing up to it,
and you know she's going to follow through for it.
But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Imagine you're getting slammed by your council for protecting or
being okay with the city crime being lowered and being protected.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
It's incredible.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
It's it's it's clown world. It's backwards world right now.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It is.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
It's crazy, the silliest thing ever. Oh my gosh. Anyway,
it looks like this weekend, I'm seeing ice is gonna
ramp up in Chicago, and uh, there might be some
cleaning up going on there, you know, or whatever. I know,
