more worried about our staff. Three members of Congress have
been carjacked just down the street from the Capitol in
the past. But my staff, their kids, they're twenty. I
mean a twenty one year old or twenty year old
intern that was working for Congressman Ron Estes was shot

in the crossfire of a gunfight between teenagers and killed
last month. So this has been completely game changing. I mean,
in the winter time, you let your staff leave, why
it still daylight to walk down to where they lived.
Most of them lived down in the Navy Yard. My
chief of staff in DC, for the first time since
she's been there, has ridden the Metro twice. The second

time she wrote it, she even carried her purse. And
you don't see the National Guard on every corner. I
didn't see one. I never encountered one of them. But
they don't have long guns. Laura, my chief of staff,
was just saying, like the presence alone of knowing that
you're going to get on the metro. You're going to

be safe. They're there, they're inside the metro. It's all good.
And it's changed the whole attitude there in DC with
you know, the workers there, the people that you know
come there and visit too. I mean, you've been there
and visit. You saw some of the stuff that went
on down there.

I got to I got to be there for what
I think was one of the top three biggest moments
of my life certification fourth fourth big maybe one of
the top four because my children being born and being married,
we are right there. But to watch Kamala Harris have

chamber and man, old man, was that cool. So walking
from Navy Yard to the Capitol, which is just under

had like a snowstorm. It's like eight inches of snow

or something silly, you like dress shoes and I'm like
going to and I walked because trying to get any
like a cab or anybody drive you or it was
impossible because this the whole city was almost kind of
at a standstill because of how much snow. So I walked,
I didn't have any trouble. But it was also daylight,

and it also just snowed eight inches. I don't know,
is there a lot of crime going on when there's
eight inches of snow and it's not very warm.

It's too Yeah. But and a couple of folks from
the dis that we're there in DC visiting or taking
gives back to school. I mean they've even commented how
different it was. And look, that's what matters. It's the
perception that's out there that people feel safe again what

Another one of my staff was walking them all over
the weekend with his fiance encountered them kind, hey, how's
it going. You have a nice day? Beautiful out. So
it's it's been game changing. So just their presence, just
their presence and the DC mayor your browser. I mean,

So then with what's going on in DC, I don't
know what the plan is or that you're even privy
to how long they're going to be there.

To So that's the question because when they leave, does
the crime then unpause, because it will be up to
her and then obviously Metro Police to do and take
over and start to be But I feel like Troy
that it would require several hundred more police officers than

being hired and on the streets because to be everywhere,
which is what's happening right now. If there isn't a
police officer, there's National Guard, right and it's all in
that district of Columbia area, which it's a highly populated area,
and we know it's a lot of youth that are
committing these crimes, yes, that get a slap on the
wrist or even nothing if they're caught doing something.

interviewed and that that's kind of what he's saying here
in Columbus, you know, and they know it. They're letting
them out. I mean they're getting them in, their teenage kids,
