Speaker 1 (00:00):
GOP strategist Bob Clegg is joining me. Of course we
still have the bearded.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
One behind the glass over there.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Who I thought, right, I thought it was funny as
we uh, you know, Top of the Hour happened and
I was running back and forth doing something in a
studio and I go, hey, Zach, attack, can you grab
Bob Clegg.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
He's at the door. He's like yeah, So.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
I come back in and you're here in a studio
and I'm like, oh man, yeah, sitting right, and I
sit down across. And then Zach gets on the talk
back and goes, Bob Clegg's here, which is actually it's
what he does all the time. I'll actually even be
in there with him. For instance, you know, Marshall comes
on with us every day. We know Marshall does a
couple live hits with us every day. I'll be standing

(00:42):
in in the production not the production, but the producer
studio and the sound booth, and I'll be standing in
there with it, and I hear Marshall come over the
speaker in there, and then they start talking, and I'll
be in there and sometimes I'll be like, hey, Marshall,
blah blah blah blah, blah, and I'm starting to walk
out of there, and Zach will go, hey man, Marshall's
here because he lets me know when we have get

(01:04):
hill ay man, Jim Jordan's on hold, hey man, you
know what whomever?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
And uh today he's just doing his job.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
I was told to over communicate, and that's what I'm doing.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I'm literally talking to the guest in the studio and
he comes over and interrupts us and says, hey man, your.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Guest is jack Ass.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
By the way, is this mine?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Can I send us this? Yeah? That's yours. Your watching? Absolutely, boy,
iheart's really getting generous.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Sure we can come off of a bottle of water
here and there and no big deal. I was gonna say,
I'm gonna send a bunker Buster over to Zach's house.
That's what I'm gonna do. He keeps up the smart elokness.
Is that a word, smart elekness?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I don't think it is. But anyway, oh, thank you,
thank you. I appreciate that. Trying to feel I'll be
here all week.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yeah, so your thoughts, I mean, the obvious thing here
watching happen. You know, I don't know where you were
were you were in Chicago alert.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Sitting down at a wedding reception.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Okay, a friend of in Chicago, in Chicago, and it's
around seven thirty their time.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So it's eight thirty time, yep.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
And I sit down and a friend of mine comes up,
sits next to me and looks at me and says, well,
I guess it's bombs away.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
And I look and I go, what are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
You?

Speaker 4 (02:29):
And they said, well, we just started bombing Iran. So
I pulled my phone out, I started going on X
and yeah, we were bombing Iran.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
So that was where you found out you were at
a dinner A. Well, you're on a reception, wedding reception. Yeah,
and so did you start a conversation with anybody who
was at your Typically those are big round tables and
there are other people who are there.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
This this was weird.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
It was a uh they had tables, but I was
sitting at a long, long table with about twenty five
people at it.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
It was really long.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
And did this conversation?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Well, my friend that came up and sat down next
to me, we talked about it prior. That friend is
a very hardcore trumper and all of that. I do
have some friends though, and these are old old friends
from high school college.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I do have a few of those.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Old friends that are you know, hardcore Democrats, so you know,
I don't get into things with them.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
But did the conversation begin then, could you see or
hear people starting to have the conversation about well here
we go?

Speaker 3 (03:41):
No?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
No, no.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
I think people were mostly tight tied up or tight
into the wedding at hand, and wasn't really following current
events that.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Closely interesting because something like that is it's pretty news,
were they right?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Big my world, that's pretty big.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Actually, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Being facetious, of course, it's big, huge. It's the biggest news,
you know, in a long long time.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Clearly, I wasn't surprised.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
It wasn't surprised. I was very happy. Yeah, I mean,
I'll be honest, I was very happy.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
I think this is something that should have been done
years and years and years ago.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Well, I mean they said, roughly what the last couple
of presidents at least last four punted yeah, like, well
we could do that, and everyone's just they all get
cold feet and they're.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Like, well we're not going You keep kicking the can
down the road, and you.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Keep kicking the uranium can down the road and and
this is where we're at. Trump finally said, well it's
es or get off the pot and guess what it's
time to go.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
It's go time.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
And the ultimate deal deal maker saw that the party
he was trying to kind of deal with wasn't serious
about cutting a deal at all.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And I'll tell you if anybody would.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Can split that out, it's him. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
So I I was so happy. Now. I saw on the.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Sunday morning shows yesterday, like Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation,
she was.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Kept goinged her, oh yeah, and her was, well did
we know that they were that the word was given
to actually create the bomb?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Why would we ever wait until they had the bomb?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Well, you can't wait for them to have the power
to do. And do you think that's that word's going
to get out by the way, you know that they
and if it did, you're probably going they're just they're
they're flexing, they're trying.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Well, they didn't have any intent to.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Do the bomb's an why do they have that uranium
sitting there?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Then I saw the greatest assessment of that, which was
here she has Marco Rubio, who by the way, made
sure she understood he's got more information than she asked.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
It's just like the fact that he has to remind her.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
It's just like, you know what, stay in your lane,
maybe sit this one out, Margaret, Come.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
On, what do you do the media?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
But the right up there and what else she should
have been doing?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Are there are so many other questions asking about the mission,
which that was brought out, the assessment of this and
that she should have been asking, like the craziness that
happened with us getting in and out.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
They didn't even know we're there.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
We're there with a thirty multiple thirty thousand pound bombs
dropping up her you know what, and.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
You have decoys to the Oh, it was perfect.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah, And and here she wants to talk about. All
it is is point fingers and blame. That's this is
the exact reason.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
The left lost. This is why they will.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Continue to lose if this is their course, If they
keep plotting this course, this is what will they'll continue
to lose. They are sorely mistaken if they think a
lot of Americans want to just sit by and by
the way, not just Americans, as they say, what was it?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
It's we have the we have ocean privilege. Yeah, that
was the term that I like that was used. We
have ocean privilege with Ron.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
They it's not a it's we're not next door where
it takes ten minutes for him to lob something into us.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
But that whole.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Region is everybody there wanted them to be not be
armed with nukes.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I mean it's really simple.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
What do you think is going on right now? In
Saudi Arabia? They're doing the happy dance. Oh yeah, I
mean they are so happy.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
I mean yeah, I mean they won't say that publicly,
but I mean everybody realized this is one crazy regime
who you could never trust. I mean, all we have
to do is look at North Korea and that got
out of control to the point where they do have
a nuclear bomb, and this regime is even crazier than

(08:06):
that one.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Right, And then people also were saying, well, and this
is the Margaret Brennan Brennan, what the Margaret Brennan's of
the world are trying to say that?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Do they really have intent?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Or I could see this starting like, well, if this
is why can't they just get a different regime in there? Well, yeah,
good luck toppling the one that's in there. And by
the way, maybe the next one is a little nicer
and a little more sane. Probably not, but maybe, But
then what about the one after that or the one
after that? And by the way, during all that time,
they're continuing to build more and more nuke excuse me,

(08:40):
nuke bombs, and so we're gonna start this was this
was a this was the decision that had to be made.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I gotta be honest.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
The timing on it even threw me off, which and
think about it, and I don't know where you're at
on this, but with us being diehard, you know, supporters
of this current pres Look, I'm not saying he can't
do any wrong and he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Make any bad decisions.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
What I'm saying is I agree, for the most part,
with every single move that he has made so far.
Because if I feel like with the information that he
has and that they have, I don't think for one
second he's crazy. People are trying to say he's crazy,
he's a dictator, he's a king, he wants to be
a king. We don't elect kings, blah blah blah, and
all that stuff. I don't buy any of that. I'm

(09:25):
not believing any of that. I feel like what he's
doing is for the betterment of America. It's America first again,
not America alone, not America solo, but America first. And
I feel like that's what's happening right now. But when
you look at the months or the whatever's the time frame,
which Pete Heggs at the Secretive Defense Heggs At is

(09:46):
telling reporters this plan took months weeks of positioning, preparation,
and Israel was setting the.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Table with what they were doing. This was a this
was a coordinated thing.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Israel took out like all of their sole defense systems
in the country.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
That's what they did. What the previous eight days, they cleared.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Them out so that when our guys were coming in
they wouldn't be shot at.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
And how dumb as I ran for not even realizing
exactly what was going on. They're just in over their
head and right now, plus think about the precision that
we struck and I I'm not hearing.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
I don't know that the US media, as soon as
they're able to try to report anybody dying civilians or
any of that, but I haven't heard any of that
yet as far as over there, and I'm now we
know that they Now there's there's reports that you know,
the strike on how you did was there was it

(10:46):
didn't even like the missiles didn't even make it.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
That was just as I was coming on the air.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I saw that they accepted them.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Well, I was working with uh, you know, they did
launch against our base there by the way, the largest
US military base in the Middle East there and Cutter
and you did. And I saw that they did launch
toward that. But now it's being it's being reported that
they were intercepted and that there was nothing even landing there.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
No, they're that crippled. I guess yes they are.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
And I'll tell you they don't have a lot of
options here. I mean their foreign minister, you know, ran
up to Moscow to talk to Putin today and Putin
basically said, yeah, too bad about that. Tell the iatola,
we said, hey, and the guy left, tell them.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
To text me.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
I mean, that's just.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
We'll do lunch. Give me a call, I will do lunch.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I mean, what do they do if they really do
try to retaliate like that, We're going to stop them.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
But if they do somehow do any damage Trump's going
to go in.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
There and he's going to obliterate what's left of their military.
And they know that, and those Ayatolas and all those
religious leaders there will not stay in power if they
have no military, because if there's no military, the people
will rise up against them.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Interesting, So there's their caught eight two one WTV and
one eight hundred and six ten WTV.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
And so your thoughts, I know.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
When you look on socials and seeing all the different
opinions and so on, what I would like to I'd
like to hear from people with an opinion, and it
doesn't have to be in favor of what Trump did.
You can be against because there's plenty of people that
I know as far as friends on social media that
are conservatives, but they're not happy about this biggest thing

(12:39):
being I was promised.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
No new wars. This is not a war. This was
a strike.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
You know three there were three sites and look, I'm
not gonna I don't need to go over exactly what happened,
but it's not a war. This was not an actual
and by the way, I feel like the easiest way
to kind of to talk to somebody who goes he
said no new wars, no new conflicts, whatever. Things aren't
always black and white as a president. And I feel

(13:08):
like if it were an easy decision as a president,
any decision just swivel around any different area of the world,
If all the decisions were that easy, you and I
could be president, sure, And so I would never want
to be a president of the United States simply because
of that.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Oh I wouldn't either.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
The decisions are not always that easy, and it's not
always black and white. And I also feel like things change.
So when you're going into office, you know, sometimes some
things change and cause that you know, you have to react.
The reaction needs to be there. And in this situation,

(13:47):
people are some people are saying that he would rather
they would rather us just sit and let this happen
and let them have nuclear weapons.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Well, I think the Vice President answered that whole war
question the best when he said, we're not at war
with Iran. We're at war with Iran's nuclear program. And
that's what was taken care of on Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yeah, there's no question about that.
