Speaker 1 (00:00):
So this happened as far as the breaking news yesterday
on the air, the shooting up in the Lorraine area,
which is a suburb of Cleveland. It was a shooting
that appears to have been a targeted attack on police
officers there. From what I understand, there was three of them.
They were having lunch and so this guy who they
(00:27):
named let's see anyway, he had a rifle I guess,
and opened fire on them. Now, erroneously, I was reading
there was a report that one of the officers had died,
but that's not true. So that accidentally got out at
least that was the last thing I read.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Last I saw. It was three shot, two critical and
one treated and released.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yes, yes, okay. And then earlier today there was an
article that said that one of the officers had passed.
But they were wrong on that, Thank goodness, I know,
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
That's not the kind of stuff you get wrong. I
know who were probaded that. Do you remember where that
report was, because they should be called at That's not
the kind of stuff you should put out there unless
you are absolutely sure.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah, this is one of those things that you've talked about,
you were really adamant about you're like, look, man, when
people are getting these stories wrong because they're in a
hurry to scoop everybody else, well in the way, they're
stepping on their own. You know what it's like, Come on, man,
that's really really just uh, it's just careless.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's ready once to come on the air with the
big graphic banner breaking news. Yes, we're all sitting at
the desk tonight because they've got nothing else to talk about.
So they go out and they find anything so that
they can be the first and have that breaking news.
That's not the kind of thing you want to get wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
This guy laid in wait for the officers at a
dead end street in Lorraine, and two officers were parked
in their patrol vehicles in an undeveloped industrial park and
they were eating lunch. And it was multiple shots he
fired into their vehicles and yeah, like you said, two
of them critical and one treated and released.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
But this sounds way too much like waiting for ice
agents and the bushes to me. I mean this, if
this is we're going to go into this whole you know, ambush,
guerrilla warfare, mentality, People in general, not just law enforcement,
people in general better be ready for Because I'll be
honest with you, if I'm rolling down the street and
I see an officer come under fire from an ambush
(02:36):
like that, I'm joining in, I'm firing back. I would
expect him to protect me. In mind, I would protect him.
This is this is getting crazy. And if we're going
to start seeing this kind of crap happening, this is
this is Lorain, Ohio. I mean it's two and a
half hours up the road. If we're going to see
this stuff happening, everybody needs to be aware of what's
going on and paying attention because I you know, once
(02:59):
something is successful, they'll do it again. They'll keep doing
it until somebody finds a way to stop them.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, the shooter is dead. He was shot pronounced dead
at the scene. The two that we were talking about
that were shot several times, they were airlifted to trauma
center that was in Cleveland, and then the other one
that we talked about was treated and released. He was
shot in the hand. There was a wound to his hand,
just to be exact, just to throw that in there,
(03:26):
but yeah, what a what a horrible thing to happen,
And like you said, it definitely looks like this is
becoming almost like normal, Like the bad guys are going, Yeah,
this is the easiest way to get a jump on them,
because that way I can fire off some shots before
they can even get their their weapon out of the
holster or whatever. And uh, coward, coward piece it.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
And the way they are demented minds work. Man, if
we can, just if we can kill a hundred cops,
can you imagine? That's how their heads work, That's how
so hey, I got two that I shot, wasn't able
to kill him this time, but now somebody else smoke,
I have a better shot. I can ambush him better.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
I can.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
They're twisted. They are freaky little twisted people. And there
are way more of them out there than any of
us want.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Who admit, yeah, you can you start to think about
hopefully none of these neither one of these two that
are in critical Hopefully they're going to be able to
make it. And and uh was it Madison Township? Here
switching gears that where the guy was running from him
and he turned and fired at them, Yeah, and then
(04:34):
tried to take his own life. Did you hear an
update on that guy by the way, who tried to
shot the officers and tried to kill himself.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Last I heard he had shot himself and was in
critical condition.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
But so I guess he at the last second kind
of flinched or turned his head and it basically the
bottom part of his jaw is like blown off and
like there's like a tooth like up in his forehead.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I mean, hang on a second while I shed it's here.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Well, I And the only reason I'm bringing it up
is think about, you know, how how much hell that
guy is going to now go through because of that.
And it's just like, do you say in a situation
like that, I'm glad that he didn't end up off
of himself all the way that he's got to deal
with this now for what's left, and it looks like
(05:23):
he's gonna make it.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I don't know if I'll say I'm glad, but it
doesn't hurt my feelings, right, I mean, he is what
he was willing to do. He doesn't merit my consideration.
Whatever happens to him happens to him.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I mean, this guy in Cleveland, you know, he's shot dead,
So yeah, he gets to he gets to exit Earth
and not have to deal with the aftermath. If you will.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
That's a hard line because then you get into the whole,
you know, the life in prison, capital punishment, And wouldn't
you rather they suffered? And I don't know, I'd rather
they suffered at their own expense. I hate to think
of us paying for somebody for the next fifty sixty
years living off of us for doing something heinous to
our society.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Well they're living off of us. But uh, you know,
depending on where where you're doing your time, it's probably
hard time. And it's not like it's not like man
this uh I love having just free pie. I get,
you know, pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. So that one that
one guy shot himself and he's going to be in prison,
like he lived through it, could you imagine how much
worse it is being in prison? And right exactly you
(06:25):
know what I mean exactly that It was kind of
my point with that. It's just like, man, it's almost
like poetic justice if you will, you know. But I
understand where you're coming from, too, Chuck, because you're like,
you can kind of cross a point where you become
an animal too, depending on how much joy you take it.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
When there's when there is somebody who is absolutely no
che no doubt what this guy in Iowa. Take him
in the alley with a forty five, get it over with.
We shouldn't waste another penny on him.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I understand exactly what you're saying.
