Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, in case you were wondering, Burger King brings back
Halloween buckets. You know, I think at some point these
could be I mean, we can go back in time
to McDonald's win those the buckets like for the Happy
Meals and so on. Those are collector's items. At this point,

(00:20):
I don't have any, but I think there are people
and we got to go back aways too.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
For that styrofoam from an old mc crispy or something
like that. Under the seat of my car. It's about
as close as I come.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
The styrofoam.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah, well, I hate the sandwich.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I mean, come on, Well they have a new Halloween bucket,
Burger King does, and so they skipped the buckets last year,
but they've returned with cartoons featuring a box of chicken
fries dressed as a mummy. Oh I ne cue, also
a burger patty wearing a football helmet, a chicken nugget,

(00:58):
and a witch cost and uh, I know what's for
dinner tonight, honey, I'll bring home some some Halloween buckets
from Burger King.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Halloween's supposed to be scary. They ought to have one
that has that scary Burger King on it and he's freaky.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
He is kind of freaky, especially just staring in your window,
which it's been some of those like they're just he's
like looking in and you're like, man, that's great. It's
like did their advertising team watch the finished product?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
And the same people that wrote the whopper Whopper Whopper
Whopper Whopper Whopper they came up with the Burger king guy?

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Man, I know anyway, they're two dollars if you're thinking
to get one. The Halloween buckets and Don Ross, the
retirement boss, is still in the studio with us. I yeah,
I was begging him to. I was like, man, will
you stay with us? He's like no, I had to
pay him to get him to stay.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh you stay just a little bit longer?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yes, no, no, what.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Almost?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And Mark's transition has begun.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Ohio, Ohio, this great state we live in, the Buckeye
State leads the nation. And haunted houses? Are you a
haunted house guy?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
You mean like real haunted houses? Are those things they
put up this time of year to come go through
And I mean, yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
The ones where people pay to go through and it's
all kind of staged.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, I've never I went through two of those and
I walked there, I'm like, this is stupid. Nothing was
scary used.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
To go back in the day. Yeah, I mean yeah,
and you know, I know a lot of guys that
will use that as Yeah, I'm taking a girl with me,
so I want her scared, and then she'll be all
trying to hug on me, help me, save me, protect me.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah right, what driver around the west side, She'll hang
on to you.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
So, Ohio, are you ready for this? Has one hundred
and forty four haunted attractions this year and California is
the next closest with one hundred and thirty two. It's crazy.
We literally lead the nation and haunted.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Houses Californias are probably scarier though, because they've got pictures
of Gavin Newsom throughout correct and tho's a real terrified
by the way. I would probably, honestly, I don't know
that I get scared. I'd have to see, but I
would probably be more intimidated at this stage of my
life going through like one of those corn mazes, Oh
where you're thinking, yeah, how do I get out of here?

(03:39):
That would be intimidating to me. But the haunted house
is now Zach attack. I know that you are a
you love horror movies and all of that stuff. This
is getting ready to be your favorite time of the year.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
I'm pretty sure, because correct, you love Halloween and all
the stuff and ghosts and ghouls and goblins and all
those things. So have are you? Do you like going
through the haunted houses?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I like it.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
They're really fun.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
The problem I get as the older I get, the
more I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack
when they do those jump scares out of the side.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I'm like, oh boy, okay, yeah, but they're still fun.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, I enjoy.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah, you can have. You can have that.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I want.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I want nothing to do with any kind of haunted house.
I as a matter of fact, you know, I get
I get the business from you know, my teenage daughter,
you know, kind of coming up when she really wanted
and my my wife has known ever since. I don't.
I don't go through them. I will not go through
them at all, because I I I don't know how

(04:35):
I would react. You know. Uh, you see it all
the time. Uh, you know the jump scares where you'll
see people walking down let's say the boardwalk in Atlantic
City and it's somebody that's dressed as a plant or
whatever that's off to the side and it's really kind
of unassuming, and then they're like they like jump and
the reaction.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Is like that that may get me something like that,
or like one of those guys a dresses, you know,
it looks like a stone statue and then all of
a sudden you look at his head turned to look
at you or something like that. Yeah, that kind of
stuff would probably freak me out.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
So your your reaction is like you can end up
punching somebody in the mouth or what, just because.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
It's just a reaction. Yep, you know.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
And I'm already that I already have never liked any
of those places. And my joke was, already you want
to be scared, get married and have children. NAT's scare you.
That's a real scare. You don't have to go through
these manufactured But I get it. People love this and
clearly there's a huge market for it. And so you asked,

(05:37):
don you said, what are the some of the So
they have thirteen of the I guess I don't know.
This scare Factor picks haunted houses in Ohio this year
and here's some of their really you know, the ones
that they say are really good. Fear Columbus is on there.

(05:58):
I don't never heard of the dam Schoolhouse that's in Cincinnati.
Face your fears. Hotels of Terror, Oh lordie, I want
none to. When it's like a like a hospital and
that's the theme and you're going through like the Haunted
Hospital or something, I'm like, oh, man, I can think
of about seven million things I've done before I would, Oh, yeah,

(06:21):
that one's in Springfield.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
For years and years and years, I worked at a station.
We were just connected. We were in tandem with Haunted
UCCI at Dead Acres out in Potascala, and I watched
that thing turn into this massive juggernaut. But when we
first I remember when they first started here in this area.
We when I worked at that station, the rock station,
we were connected with them and we would be out

(06:45):
there during the season and kind of go broadcast live
from Haunted HUCI, you know or whatever. And so that's
one of the ones that has stood the test of time.
You want to talk about that is crazy, man, So scary.
Let me be really scary. Haunted Schoolhouse and Laboratory. It's
an Akron, the Factory of Terror, and Canton the Blood

(07:10):
Prison in Mansfield.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Now, speaking of Mansfield, is the reformatory on there? It's
a haunted location, is that part, Zach?

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Do you happen to know off the top of your
head that prison?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
I would never go.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
I would never go, I know, like a reformatory in
the Mansfield No, I would not. I just because that's
really haunted. Do you think, Yeah, yeah, I don't know
if the prison is one or not. So you don't
know if that's blood prison. I mean it is Mansfield,
how many.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Yeah, it has to be that though. It would have
to be the Fear Columbus one. The Fear Columbus one
is the one I usually go to.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
It's uh is that pretty crazy? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, it's it's super fun. It's not that expensive.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's in.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Somewhere in Columbus. Anything past Hilliard. I have to use
GPS gone, so I can't exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Is Fear Columbus where like somebody's there and like they're
all intestines are like falling out and yeah, sometimes because
they do that stuff and I'm just.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Like, oh my god, yeah, it's pretty cool.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
No, I'm like gonna have I'm having nightmares and everything.
The trail of nightmares in Ontario, Land of Illusion Adventure
Park in Middletown down by uh, you know, Cincinnati. And
then Carnage Haunted House, which is in Columbus. Have you
heard of that one, Zach Carnage Haunted House.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
No, I'm not sure it's a good name though. I
like Carnage Carnage.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, yeah, man, I just I yeah, we should go broadcast.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I would be more worried.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Not the negative.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Like you know ouboo. That part wouldn't scare me, but
just people today. Yeah, because I know people that they'll
do the clown thing and everything to be part of
these these haunted houses every year. Yeah, and they're already twisted.
Now as more and more twisted people come out, they
could get like dangerous twisted. I don't want some clown
that goes. Why not use the real chains all this time? No, No,

(09:10):
I don't want to be No.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
I quite frankly can't believe we don't have more of
that that has happened in society so far. But one
of these years, I feel like it's going to be
something along those lines. It is the perfect way. You're
already disguised and you're in there and people are coming
in and going yeah, this is all fake stuff. I
mean they would be unsuspecting. Yeah, yeah. During It's like, oh, man,

(09:36):
did you see that person that looked real when their
arm came off when they.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Were during COVID. I was just waiting for somebody to
put on a cowboy hat and rob a bank because
they everybody's walking around with mask right, I'm like, this.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Is the perfect time.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Man, you got the mask on, Just put on the
cowboy hat and walk in. It's like a zers, hold up,
nobody'd look at you going in the bank. It was normal.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yep. So there it is. We are tops in the
nation as far as haunted attractions. How about that.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Oh and we're also tops in the nation for fast food.
So you got plenty to eat after you get scared.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
That's right. Maybe you should know if you eat before
then you're gonna you know, or so you don't want
to do that.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Well, if I eat before, you scare me. Real good,
I got a present for you. I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
And it ain't vomit.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
No, no belts, that's so realistic.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Because it is.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
How do they fake the flies that?

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Hey, Denny, welcome to the show. Thanks for listening.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Hey, thank you guys. You guys are awesome.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Thanks.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah, you guys are talking about that prison. Yeah, and
they actually featured that on a like one of those
you know, ghost story shows. I forget what it was,
but a girl went there. I think it was like
for a concert or something, and ever since then she
had this black figure that was stick in her bedroom.

(11:01):
That's what I'm saying, Yeah, Chuck, that's why I'm not
going there.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
She brought a spirit home with her. Is that really
what you're saying?

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Kind of Yeah, it's like a black you know, form,
like a fan form or whatever it was, but followed
her around.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I one one thousand believe you can unlock.

Speaker 6 (11:25):
The that world.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I really believe you can.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Yeah, if you mess with it, you start playing with
Weezi boards and you start messing with the voice box
shit stuff. Sorry, I got it.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Yeah, yeah, I understand. Man, I understand. Denny, thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
We did the Ouiji board once when I was like
ten years old. I'm not joking. I at ten, I'm
like trash Can. I took it to the trash Can.
It scared me so much. I'm like, no, this is
either one of you guys is doing this or something's
going on, this thing is gone.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Then the next day he opened up the closet and
there the whole thing was back on the shelf, back
on the shelf from the garbage.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
The box opened up and said, Hello, Chuck, I missed you.
Hello Charles, Hello Charles.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
I'm having an old friend for dinner.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
That's why I've never wanted to even try Kyanti right.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Me either, can't bring myself to drink it. Hey, I'm
elect you drank that. I don't want that
