Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know.
Speaker 2 (00:00):
Earlier this week, the Neo robot housemaid was introduced to
the world. Robot maids are coming next year. In the
days of humanoid robot housekeepers are almost on us upon us.
Neo is a five foot six robot weigh sixty six pounds,
can lift one hundred and fifty four pounds and carry
(00:21):
fifty five pounds. It also has a four hour battery
life and fast charging capability program with a variety of
autonomous tasks tasks around the house. In addition, there's an
expert mode where its human operator can supervise and provide
corrective intervention, allowing it to you know, learn all kinds
(00:42):
of stuff. Going to cost about twenty grand and uh
right out of the box, that's about what it calls.
And then there's also a five hundred dollars monthly rental
option if you don't want to just pay.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Have you seen at work?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I have not of you? Yes, I have. Is it
worth it?
Speaker 3 (00:59):
It is not with it because it'll be like, uh, Neo.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Put glasses or put two dishes in.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
The dishwasher and it'll do it.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
But it's very slow.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
It takes like four or five minutes to do that.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I thought you were. S'd be like it goes there
was like, let's thrust it. It moves too slow to
cause any accidents. It'd be like slow driving into a
tree and neutral. It wouldn't really right, nothing's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
He is a radio voice for the Comumbus Blue Jackets.
Bob mcgelligant joining us now. I think you could talk
to wife into this, Bob.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Or No, sure, I wouldn't. I wouldn't even ask for
just bring it home.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
It'd be like, honey, look what I got. I gotta
I got a robat that's gonna do some of the
work that you asked me to keep doing.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Exactly right.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
The Jackets are in Flago right now.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Man, this is I know it's really really early, but man,
oh man, they look good these last few games.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, they look really good. Last couple of games, you
know when in three in a row, and one more
home game tomorrow night before we get out on the
road for a little over a week. So yeah, it's
been fun. There's no question. It's uh, you know, starting
to put the things together that they hope to, you know,
put together early in the season.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Is there anything specific that's standing out as far as
maybe players or something that you would attest to or
attribute to. I guess rather this, you know, this nice
little thing they got going right now. I mean you
kind of you talked about playing as a unit. Obviously
those are things that have to happen in order to win.
Is there anything, for instance, we get into a shootout.
(02:40):
I love when Elvis is in net when we go
ot or shoot, it seems like, and I don't know,
it's just a feeling. I probably the stats go against
the way that I'm you know, feeling or whatever with this,
But like we get into that situation like the other night,
the shootout, I'm like, man, I just like Elvis, and
it seems like we have a lot of good success
in that scenario with him in net.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Well, I hate it. I mean, anything beyond regulation, I'm.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Not suh huh.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
You never know, so, but yeah, yeah, look, look it's working.
You know, they've they won a game in Pittsburgh and
a shootout last week. They had to go to overtime
in Buffalo the other night to get a win, got
the job done. Crushed the Toronto maple Leafs here a
couple of nights ago. So you know, they're winning in
different ways, but they're they're just we talked a couple
(03:29):
of weeks ago that, you know, they weren't working as
hard as they needed to. Really, it was just one game.
It was the one game against Colorado, the other ones
they were in. But they're they're just working hard and
they're kind of laying it all on the line every
night that they play, and when they do that, they
give themselves a really good chance to win.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
You just mentioned Colorado, who they're up to nothing right
now at Vegas. They're at the Golden Nights in the
second period. They're up right now. They they seem to
me by and again I don't have the trained hockey
eye like you've stared at a million games at this point,
but they look like a team that Good Lord Man
based on. And you just mentioned them playing the Jackets.
(04:12):
They look like a team that is, I mean unstoppable
the way that they're playing right now.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yeah, well it's ten games in too, right. I mean, look,
they're really good. They've got really good players. You know,
they have Cam mccarr, who beat out Zach Wrensky for
the North Trophy for the best defenseman in the league
last year. They've got Nathan McKinnon, one of the top performers.
They just signed Martin hus to a new eight year
contract the other day for big money. They have very
(04:41):
good players. But you know, again, not of that. What
matters at this time of the year is picking up
as many points as you can. What really matters is
once you get into the playoffs, and you know, Colorado
it's getting further away from when they won the Stanley
Cup by years and they're team that's going to be
in there and have the opportun unity to win it
every year. They're going to be in the playoffs. They're
(05:03):
a playoff built team. They're almost automatic to get in.
You know what you do after that.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Right, what will you What will you be doing tonight?
Will you be watching hockey? Will you stay far away
from hockey? Because clearly you you know you're not calling
for the Jackets. Obviously the game is tomorrow night at
Nationwide Arena. But what does Bob mcgelligate do on a
night like tonight where you're.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Off if you will, Well, last night I figured out
a really good way to get out of the trick
or treating that we talked about last week, Yes, and
that was to go to the Ohio State Penn State
game at the Shot. So we went and watched that
last night. Watched Jackson Smith, who was a first round
pick of the Blue Jackets this year. He plays for
Penn State. Gavin McKenna is a guy that's projected to
(05:49):
be the number one overall pick and next summer's draft
he's playing for Penn State. So we went watched that game.
My wife, my son and I went to that game
and and we got home and I had an absolutely
terrible night of sleep last night. I don't know why.
So what am I going to do tonight? Probably gonna sleep.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
It's officially Halloween, so I didn't know your trick.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Or treat for your area was last night, so you
kind of alluded to that tonight.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Get out of the house before six o'clock and I
see kids on the street, and I'm like picking up people,
let's go. Are we gonna go?
Speaker 2 (06:21):
You're going by and they're like, hey, can we get
some candy before you leave?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
You're like, hey, no, no, no, keep going.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Worst part I didn't even have any house because I
you know, I hadn't planned on being around, and so
if that doorbell rings, just like everybody, duck and cover.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Quiet chicken noodle soup for you kid?
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah right, bottle of water, bottle of water.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Uh yeah, I was just wondering because I don't know.
It sounds like, yeah, you're not gonna be up late
enough to watch the Red Wings, for instance, at Anaheim tonight.
That's a ten o'clock game our time here, and the
Red Wings are on fire right now too, which is why.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
When I watched that, like, I'm sorry, I'm not no,
but the game tomorrow that at this moment in time,
that game has zero interest to me.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yeah, I just I mean, you know, red Wings are
on fire? What are they? Eight and three right now? Yeah?
Well so do I but.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
You know, so why would I hate them?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Oh well, okay, I'll look at the core of Mark. Well, okay,
all right, then I know now that you don't watch
teams that.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
You hate er tonight. Oh do that?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Oh see, I'm and I'm glad you brought that up,
because yeah, we can shift gears out of hockey to
the World Series. Are you rooting for the Blue Jays
because I'm anti Canada, I'll just say it.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
I'm rooting for the Blue Jays because whether there's number
of reasons. Number one, I worked for the Triple A
team for nine years when I was in Syracuse. A
lot of guys that I worked with are no longer
in the organization. They're retired to move on, but I
still know some people. So for that reason, I'm rooting
for the Blue Jays. That and the fact that I
hate the fact that, you know, if you spend to
(08:02):
the highest amount like the Los Angeles Dodge win World Series,
that drives me crazy. A lot of people say baseball
is going to lock out in twenty twenty seven, there
won't be any games, and I think that would be
a good thing, quite frankly so because they need to
get in the line, they need to get a salary
cap like everybody else. To some extent, that's just the
way it is.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
You see that actually ever happening for real?
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Yeah? I did. The baseball friends I talked to tell me, Yeah,
that's it's for real. What's happening? No. I And my
question is are the small market's going to really stick together?
And the answer I got is yes from several different people.
So we'll wait and see. But you know, there's a
there needs to be a seismic shift in that sport.
But anyway, that's for them, the Blue Jays. I think
(08:45):
the worst thing that could happen to the Toronto Blue
Jays happened yesterday. They had the day off, so they
lost baseball. H Yeah, in baseball, the momentum, it's not
like any other sport, like when when you get that momentum,
you need to sustain it. And sometimes you know, even
through the course of the regular season, you win a
(09:06):
lot of games and then you get that one day
off and then you're like, oh man, it feels good
to have a day off, and then the next day
to go back to work and you got to pick
it up a little bit. So look, they have two
chances at home ye to win. But I'll be honest
with you, if the Dodgers win tonight, I think that
Blue Jays are in really big trouble in Game seven tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
It's similar to what you just describe with regard to
the worst thing that could happen is their day off
is like us as golfers and you have a really
good round and you hear them go or even at
the PGA level, you're here guys that you know they're
playing a four different rounds obviously in any tournament, and
they talk about I don't want to go to sleep tonight,
And it's the same kind of thing with regard to
(09:50):
you get that momentum and you're grooved and you feel
and then you take it down and you're discombobulated when
you come back. And again it's different scenery because you know,
even all be at home for the Blue Jays. But yeah,
interesting take there, and I definitely agree with you on that.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
It's just such a repetition sport, right, And also the
same way when they're playing in the tournaments on the weekends. Yep,
it's such a repetition thing. And when you're they lose
an eighteen inning game and everybody counted them out. Everybody
counted them out. And now they go back and they
win the next two and they do it by good margin,
and so you're really feeling good about yourself and and
that sport. You're going. Man, the last thing we need
(10:26):
is a day off, right now, let's just finish it.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
So we'll see Steelers. Steelers. Look and you're a Steeler fan,
you're from that.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Area at the game Sunday night?
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Oh were you look at you?
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Man?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
That was played there on Saturday, so I brought the
family and we just stayed overnight, went to.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
The game on something we I didn't know you were there.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
That's I'm so jealous, except for obviously we ended up losing,
but uh.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
You know, it's funny. I was there, but the defense
never did again.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Have you seen the milk carton missing? I mean, it's everything.
I'm like, oh my gosh, they are getting flambayed. But
guess what, it's true. It's actually true for the Steelers
right now. The defense is non existent.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
It seems like, no the highest played defense in the league.
Thing they're supposed to be. You know, for decades, the
pride was the defense, and they're they're not good. That's
being kind. They're not good. So I don't know what
they're going to do to change it, But yeah, I was.
I had a great time at the game. I mean,
you know, people are great, and it's a Sunday night
game and it was It was fun to be there,
(11:33):
but it sure wasn't fun to watch.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Did you get you a Primanny brother sandwich or you're like,
I'm from there, I'm over that.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
No, they chirped me on Twitter A couple of years ago,
so I quit going there.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Oh okay, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
It's stupid. I mean we were in Pittsburgh and I
didn't get a sandwich. And then we went to Fort
Lauderdale to play the Florida Panthers and I was walking
on the beach in Fort Lauderdale and they have a
Primanny Brothers there, So I got one and I I
took a picture of sandwich. Has said, funny thing. I
didn't feel like this last week, but I feel like
it today. And then the official Permanning's account replied and said,
(12:08):
just want you to remember the score from last week
where the Penguins beats the Blue Jacket. Oh so I'm like, okay, Well,
basically I don't need your sandwiches. You don't need my money.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
How dare you? Is what I would have said, how
dare you? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Because that's the only other place then, isn't it. I
mean there's maybe one of the I don't know. I
just know Primanny people talk about, well, you put fries
on it and it just to say, no, it's not
the same.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
It really isn't.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Yeah, so when you're drunk, it all tastes.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
It absolutely does. Tomorrow night, theeen Icy lights and you
can how many.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
You want, sixteen lights, whatever you want, sixty. Tomorrow night,
the Jackets back on whole Mice and the Saint Louis
Blues in town and your thoughts on you know, the
Jackets obviously.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Need to keep doing what they're doing.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
The the altar doorinating goalie seems to be one of
the things that, like you said, need keep winning.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
People are loving.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
It, right, Yeah, they ain't broke. Don't fix it right, right,
So just keep doing that. Saint Louis. It's gotten off
to a slow start this year. That doesn't mean that
it's an easy win at home, because it's not. And
there's a lot of focus on this game because after
that you play home tomorrow, you go to Long Island
for a late afternoon game on Sunday to play the Islanders,
and then you're gonna take off on Tuesday and go Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Seattle.
(13:31):
So you're gonna play five away from home after this,
and when you come back home you get welcomed back
by Edmonton. So the schedule is daunting. You need to
get points on home ice. It's a really important game
tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Yeah, very good.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Well, have a good call tomorrow night, of course, and
Bob mcgalligate ready toughing for my trip.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
But you're anti Canada, so I'll scratch you off my listen.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Okay, scratch me off seriously, because yeah, I don't want
anything Canada, and I got I got it.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
They they actually to me, we're.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Going down bert Alberta is like you know, they'll be
a part of the United States at some point.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
They actually held me at the at the border the
last time I went and searched our car and tore
our luggage apart and then just left it and said,
all right, you're free to go.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
It's like you jackasses.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Well you know, so that's when you're rude to those
border patrol gasses.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
That's the last people I'm being rude to, trust me.
And thank god they didn't find any of my contraband.
So to your show, all right, Bob, thanks man.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Yeah,
