Speaker 1 (00:00):
Roy Hall, are you there, I'm here. I just I
just heard Chuck do the craziest accent. That's funny. Hey,
I missed. I missed the party talking about National Pancake Day,
which is awesome, and then I was thinking about like
chocolate chip pancake, which then led my brain to think

(00:20):
about the only thing about the Ryder Cup related to
pancakes and chocolate chips is the best page black situation.
That's the only black part about the writer cut. We
need to get some more black golfers out here, some
chocolate chips in the mix.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Brother, Well, there ain't nothing but opportunity and air standing
between them, So they're they're the ones who are gonna
have to figure that out. I mean it aint It's
not like they don't have a chance. I mean, let's
face it, we got Tiger Woods, who arguably is the
best golfer ever in the history of golf, and uh,
I guess that's not enough.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
What do you think about that? Though Tiger has been
long enough ago that you would think a new generation
of young black golfers would have come along at this point,
that just now occurred to me, as Roy's saying that
we really have not seen that influx into the game.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
There might be there might be some up and coming.
I'm not sure right now, but I can tell you yeah.
I mean, it's just one of those things. I don't
know what to say. Roy. You could get started. You're
still young enough. You play golf.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Man, I'm not playing golf. My outfits are ridiculous, though
they're awesome. Man, I'd look good when I'm on the
course when I go. I mean, I got the glove
and everything. I'm out here like Michael Jackson with a
glove for no reason. You see what I'm saying. I
got the outfit looking nice, nice belt nighte. I'll even
spend two hundred dollars on some Michael Jordan golf shoes,
just not to even golf, just to make sure the

(01:45):
photo is right. I'm gonna look good, but my golf
game is terrible. I'm better off just taking the golf
ball and just throwing it as far as I possibly can,
and then just I actually go around the course picking
up other people's golf balls that I find in the
because I know mine is gonna go left or right.
It's not going straight though.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Well, at least you're honest about it. I love it.
I mean, you know, you know where you're at, and
that's that's half the battle.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Actually, you know, well, they don't even put me in
forceunes anymore because I tell the people that listen, Man,
we're gonna have nice conversation about the buck eyes, about football,
about what it was like to play with Lieutenant Governor
Trussell and play for him. We can have those in
the first three holes. But after four holes of talking,
I really don't want to talk to y'all strangers no more.
And I'm terrible at golf. So look, I'm gonna just

(02:31):
get my own card. I'm gonna hang out with y'all
with three holes and I'll see y'all back at the club.
That's why. Hey, Hey, that's why they hired me just
to speak. Now, hey, just come speak and talk and
then leave because you know you're not gonna be able
to help us around the course.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
That's hilarious, man, I love that.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
That's a true story. Man. Look, I'm not tell it.
They gonna pair me. They're gonna pair me up with
three random white dudes that don't know me, don't really
care about me playing that much no more. After three holes,
and then I won't be able to hold my own
and then like, I'm just a liability at that point.
And the more they drink, the more all of a
sudden they stop laughing at my jokes, and then it's

(03:08):
just uncomfortable for everybody.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
That's so funny, man, And I can see back in
the clubhouse while they're golfing, he's trying to create a
high chow Martini.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Oh you already know it. There, you know it, man,
We got hey stacked to the ceiling. That's the part
of my writer. Now, you know what I'm saying, Like,
if I go speak somewhere, Hey, can we get you anything,
mister Hall, Yeah, let me get about a bag or
two of them original high choos. And then I say, no,
I'm just kidding. And then I know they're gonna do
it for me.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
You're not really kidding, You're like, I know they're gonna
get it since I brought.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
It them I choos. Man.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah, Well, I I wondered if you knew today was
National Pancake Day. I'm sure you did. I did see
that there was a there's a place called the Sugar Factory,
and I guess the closest one. There's twenty different locations
across the US. Closest one that I was looking at
is in Detroit. But man, they're pancakes. What they're on
like offering today. There's some, as they call them, flamboyant

(03:59):
flat jacks. There's banana strawberry pancakes, and then there's chocolate
covered Oreo cookie pancakes. Then there's the insane double stack
Rainbow pancakes. And it's a vibrant, instagram worthy stack of
every color in the rainbow, guaranteed to brighten up your
feed and your taste buds. It's also topped with a

(04:19):
yellow rubber ducky as well for that, But.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Man, that sounds that whole thing sounds inappropriate. I don't know.
I don't know what pancakes and rubber duckies and different
colors have to do with each other. There's no thank
you man.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Well they they all of those sound amazing to me.
But you know, I like the sugar so much too much,
I might add, so maybe I probably I should probably
skip that part, But boy would it be tough if
there's a big stack of them right and running me.
I'll be honest.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, there's my two favorite pancakes, you know, and you know,
forgive me for giving these people some free pug but
original pancake house there. Pancakes are fantastic, man, they are.
I don't know what they put in the batter, but
that's number one or one A. And then, believe it
or not, Cracker Barrel because they make the outside of

(05:09):
the pancakes crispy, oh man, like a crispy like fried
that dark skillet Grandma's Grandma's kill it that got passed
on with some butter, you know what I mean. And
they make them edges crispy. Man, it's the best pancakes
in the world. Your pancake has to be like light skinned.

(05:29):
It got to be like a like a little bit
of dark edges with the light skin. And you see
what I'm saying like it has to be like a
nice NBA team. You see what I'm saying Like, you
got to be like some diversity in there for it
to be a good pancake.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Well, Cracker Barrel has five dollars all you can eat
pancakes deal going on today by the way, just so
you know, so if you got time and you got
the room in the belly, five dollars all you can
eat pancakes a cracker barrel, you.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Know, and in the community that was raised, and we
don't call the cracker barrel. We call it the blacker barrel.
And so we just want to make sure that when
you walk in, you feel welcomed in there. Right.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
I agree with you on the sine man, that's the
you are you older and you're probably not old enough
to remember. Remember the old Western pancake house had the
cowboys sitting on the fence out front. It was when
international houses.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
It made you not want to go.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Oh no, they did the same thing to their pancakes.
They singed them like a hamburg like a smash burger,
singed on the edges.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah. And also, I'm going to protest on you change
in the name of cracker barrel. We finally have something,
you know as far as cracker, and you got to
change it to blacker barrel, not Roy Listen.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
No, I am all about bringing the country together. Brother,
We bring the country together. You see what I'm saying.
You know, think about like things that go well together,
ice cream, sandwiches, oreo cookies. You see what happens when
you bring the combination together.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yes, I do. It's a fantastic thing, absolutely, man, no question.
All right, So tomorrow, which the Buck guys. As a
matter of fact, I was reading what has it been
the last time the Huskies beat Ohio State was September tenth,
nineteen ninety four, over thirty years ago. The Buck guys

(07:13):
are in Seattle Husky Stadium. It's a three point thirty
kickoff tomorrow on here locally on Channel ten. So I
thought this was also interesting. Part of this story was
two of the Ohio State football coaches had big performances
as players against the Huskies, and that's Heartline and Laura Nidis,
of course, And so I thought that was interesting they

(07:34):
brought that up. But yeah, that was also a win
thirty three to fourteen in the win during that game
as well, which was in two thousand and seven. We're
going back obviously quite a waste, But so Roy, your
thoughts on this game tomorrow? I believe the Huskies are
are they second in college football as far as scoring?
I think I read that, But your thoughts. The Buck
guy's nine and a half point favorites for the game tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
The line kind of tells the tale of what the
makers think the game is gonna be. They think it'll
probably be close earlier than later, it'll be competitive. First
second quarter, home field advantage. First road trip for Julian saying,
first road trip for the Buck guys this season, going
into somewhat of a hostile environment where they offensively and

(08:17):
defensively had some momentum. They believe in their quarterback. He's
kind of a top taller version of Kyler Murray esque
type quarterback, who can throw the football, who can who's mobile,
who can move around. So the Buck guys is gonna
have to be disciplined on defense. But whenever you have
that type of advantage, they're undefeated and feeling like, you know,
they've been disrespected this year, they feel like they can

(08:38):
compete with us. And so going out there far West,
we changed up our entire routine, which, if you ever
drove a different way to work at any point in
time in your life, going somewhere different and change your
routine can suck. So this guy who are kind of
creatures of habit, who try and keep things in a
certain line, in certain order. Some are even super superstitious
to some degree about how the routines are are happy

(09:01):
to adjust the time difference and all those things do
play a factor, even if it's one two percent here
and there, So we'll see how the game goes. I do.
I did look up the Huskies and one of the
things that they like to do, the Husky itself, they
like digging holes. They actually like digging holes. And part
of it is because sometimes they come from an area Siberia,
you know, where it gets cold, so they dig holes

(09:22):
to become shelter for themselves. And so what I'm hoping
is all those Huskies dig a super deep hole and
then we could just throw them in the hole and
cover them up and bury them. Brother, put them, put
them to put them work man, go ahead and dig
your own hole, dig your own grave, and then we
could bury them and come back to Columbus safe and sound.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Hey. The other thing is Buckeyes. That's great. I love it.
Buckeyes coming off of clearly a bye week here, and
you know, the Huskies played last weekend and they are also,
like you pointed out, undefeated. But coming off the bye week,
I mean, are they gonna have to knock any rust
off or I got a feeling that Ryan Day and
the coaching staff they kept them if you will from

(10:02):
you know, kind of gathering any rust if you will.
But I know it's only one week, but I can
feel like a month. I bet if you remember like
bye weeks, did they help you or hurt you? Or
what were your what are your thoughts on that?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Well, they can help you or hurt you depending on
the culture and a discipline within the team. And so
nowadays these guys got some money. They got some real
paper man, So now all of us, I mean they
got like Chuck type of money. They got real money,
right and so and so because because now these guys
can go on vacations, they can go on trips, they
can go to Miami, they can go to Cali, they
can do whatever they want to and that two to

(10:37):
three days off. And so if you're really locked in
with what the team is trying to do and want
to win a national title and Big ten title and
all those good things, you don't put yourself in position
where you get out of control just because it's a
bye week, Because a bye week can turn into a
bye bye week, meaning you can say say say goodbye
to all of your goals and plans if you don't

(10:57):
stay locked in, because if you know, you know, it
takes time to recover from a lot of alcohol, a
lot of partying, a lot of hanging out with friends
and family and going to do things and traveling. And
so hopefully a lot of those guys stayed in town.
I stayed in tune. So a lot of the guys
Instagram feeds, and nobody was putting up posts of them
on boats or yachts or going anywhere extravagant or anything
like that. So it's safe to say that those guys

(11:19):
probably stayed locked in and getting healthy, getting through a
quarter of the season and having a week to rest
can only help the Buck guys in this particular case.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Yeah, I'm curious, right, and this may be against the
rules for all I know, but is it ever practiced
that if you know you've got it, the receivers absolutely hot,
the quarterbacks absolutely hot, you got some games in the beginning,
you know you're gonna win, Let's not show them everything.
Don't kick it up the full throttle yet. Let's wait

(11:48):
until we need to do that before we let the
world know what we can do.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah, that's a that's a great question. I you know,
one of the things to kind of bring it all together,
like one of the things that they talked about as
an advantage for the Huskies was their noise, and Washington says,
the stadium is ridiculously loud. And I started thinking about
what were some of the loud environments that I had
to be in. And one of the loudest environments, Chuck,

(12:13):
that I had to be in was when I was
a senior in high school and I had my four
to twelve twelve bench subwoofers with my thousand while app
my two thousand and one APP and I used to
I probably trust at some point something exactly. You pull
up and you're making all the noises, all loud, your
trunk rattling your life and place, about the fall off

(12:36):
your car, the doors, about the fall off, but it's
loud and vibrating. And then you know what you do
is you pull up, man, and I was respectful, You
pull up to that stoplight, you turn it down, because
you know what, my guys, like, Chuck, they not ready
for this. And then when it turned green, when it
was time, I turned it up, maybe turned it all
the way up and blow out the speakers listening to
master p And you know what I mean, the no

(12:57):
limit soldiers, That's what I used to do. And that's
the answer your question. The exact same thing you do.
You turn up the music as loud as you possibly
can to impress the people and the girls in the
high school that you need to impress, and then you
turn it down when you need to. And so that's
how the Buck guys are with the receivers, and we're
gonna turn it up when we need to. But you
can't show everything all the time. But it's certain baselines

(13:18):
that hit, man, and so when when you get around
the right people, you turn that thing up, man, you know,
And that's how it goes.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Brother, He's part of our best Buckeye coverage. Roy Hall,
thank you very much, man for jumping on with us today.
We appreciate you so much. And of course we'll be
watching the game tomorrow. And yeah, I can't thank you
enough for jumping on.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
All right, good buck man a noo Minnesota

Speaker 2 (13:43):
All right, see man,
