Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thank you for listening. Mark Blazer. Chuck is off today.
Of course, Zak Attack is with me and he is
Don Ross, the retirement boss from Ross Wealth Advisors. Happy Thanksgiving,
Thanksgiving your brother? Yeah man, So how's everything going you guys?
Have you guys have a big like get together happening?
What's who's doing the cooking?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Like?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
What exactly is happening in the Ross household?
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yep?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Ye, Jonie's prepping now. Actually the little grand baby standing
on a chair next to her helping get ready, little
two year old. Oh, the cutest little thing. Oh okay,
And she's prepping as the great cook she is. And
we'll about twelve thirteen people tomorrow noon and then we
go to one of my sisters, because two of them
live here in Columbus.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
We'll go to their house for desert and it'll be
a lot.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Of dessert, right, and it always is on Thanksgiving, especially
when you're driving around, because we do the double duty.
We have been doing it since we said I do
well even before that, because I think maybe a few
years we were kind of doing double duty then. But
we'll start with my side, which is always the case
every year. We start early, like noon or so and
(01:08):
then by like three, we head over to Jenny's parents
in Hilliard and we do this every year and tradition. Yeah,
and then I feel like at the end of the
day on Thanksgiving, a tick that's about to pop is
usually the way that the day ends. No, but it's always.
It's always fantastic, you know, every single year, and both
(01:30):
of our parents, everybody is healthy, and I mean, it's
amazing that we get another yet something else.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I'm thankful for that.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
We have our parents and that they are absolutely one
percent healthy, and you know, we get to hang with
them yet another Thanksgiving. So it's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, it might be a little hard on Jony this one,
because you know, her mom passed in September and they're
very close and both my parents are gone, you know,
but they had great lives. So I'm thankful that they
had great lives. And then you know, back to tomorrow.
Then there's football. Yes, you know, I'm back into the
NFL again. You know, I wasn't happy with them a
few years back when the whole taking a knee and
(02:10):
all that stuff. I was like, yeah, I'm done with them, right,
But it's some amazing football to watch those guys.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
So what do we got. Let's see tomorrow. It is
the Packers at the Lions. That of course, that always happens,
and that's at one o'clock. That always happens on Thanksgiving.
Then the Chiefs are at the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, and I can't wait to see Mahomes go against Prescott.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Come on, Okay, who do you like there? I'm a
Chiefs fan. Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
They are three and a half point favorites coming into Dallas.
Now you're talking about they came up Kansas City coming
off of a great win last.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Week in Dallas, and Dallas pulled that one out.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Yeah, and Dallas came back. So they were down twenty
one points I believe last week. So you got similar
records here six and five Kansas City and then five,
five and one Dallas. So that's there, and then you
know you got a very good Packers team and a
very good Lions team. This is going to be a
great game kicking it off. It's gonna be great FOOTBA tomorrow.
(03:07):
Of course, there's Jerry Jones. You know, it's like I
love that guy. I know there's people hate him, there's
people love him. But what a great story and what
he did with that, you know team, and when he
bought it years ago, and yeah, just a great story.
And then the Bengals are at the Ravens for the
night game tomorrow night, and Joe Burrow, Yep, he will
be under center for tomorrow. He's coming back after that
(03:28):
turf toe thing that's been plaguing him all season. I
don't understand, I'm gonna say it. I don't understand why
they're playing him.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I mean, I mean, I get it, he's making a
lot of money and all of that. If he's not
one hundred percent now, if he's one hundred percent, I guess,
all right, fine, but it's a head scratcher because I
feel like this season's basically over for them. Yeah you know,
I mean it is. And they're at Baltimore, and you
know Baltimore is Yeah, they're six and five, but they're
(03:56):
back because you know, they got their starting quarterback and
they're they're rolling now. Yeah, unfortunately that's bad news for
the Steelers, who are in the same division.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So there it is.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
But tomorrow the games looks like, at least the first
one is going to be really good, and then I'll
be I'll have interest in that later game, that eight
twenty game tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
But you know, we have that YouTube TV now and
it's kind of cool because they get that split option
where you know, four screens playing, So yeah, I like that.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Or is that Roku one of them? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
No, I think it's not the ticket. Is it the
NFL ticket?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Do you know? Because I got I have that, but
that's on YouTube. The NFL you could have, you know,
you could have Fox News in this corner, right, okay,
and then a football game here, and you could have
mister Rogers over here. You know.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I don't know how it even selects them, right, So
maybe Joni does that because right and I'm not technical either.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Right right?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Uh? Heyzach, Zach attack, are you throw your headphones on there?
Because I'm curious what what it's gonna entail for you?
Because you're off for several days now, and probably one
of the longest stretches I think that you've been off
since you started working here.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
I would imagine for Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (05:01):
You mean, yeah, Thanksgiving that you're off Friday.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
We're going down tomorrow to mom and Dad's all my
brother's assistant Kentucky. Yeah, yeah, down to Kentucky. Yeah, that
should be a good time. I'm here Saturday though for
the post game. Oh you are bucks thing. So, but
that's only like an hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, I didn't realize that you were working Saturday.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Yeah, I apologize. Oops.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
They can't go without me for too long.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Right, that's a good position for you.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
No, I get it. I feel the same way about you.
I can't.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I can't do this without you. I need you, man,
I do what. You're at the very top of that
thanks list, you know, the thanksgiving thing, like what are
we thankful for?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
I'm thankful for Zach Attack, Mike.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
I'm crying.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
He's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Those of you don't know Zachdach or at least I've
seen him.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
He's a pretty cool dude. Man, he's got great hair.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
So those are losing your hair, Zach Attack, You don't
have that problem to you?
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Well, Well, shit, it looks really good.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Well that's uh, it's interesting you say that because that
hair he has he paid for it.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Oh yeah, who.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
No, no, no, it's totally fine.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
It is a nods face. He's like, what I missed
that show.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
It's it's totally fake.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, his hair really is fake, just so you know.
But yeah, he is, uh, he's he is thinning, he's
he's even admitted, Hey, look.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I have to turn around to look at him because
he's in another part of the right. He's behind him.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Hair one more time for a little bit.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Well, no, it's good.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I think it looks great on him. I I told
him he looks like Darryl from The Walking Dead is who.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
He reminds me of. Darryl, Yeah, from the Walking Dead.
I'm not kidding.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
I mean, we could get into the shirt he's wearing today,
but I don't know if we want to go there.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Michael Myers shirt.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
No, he wears that, and and people people know, they listen,
they know that he's a he's a horror movie fan
buff whatever.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
I mean, I have a Michael Myers tattoo.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Also, so hello, Well, I'm I am glad you get
to spend time with your family in Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Kentucky, Kentucky. Bring bourbon back.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
That Uh, there's a the Georgia prosecutor. This happened just
a couple of hours ago. Dropping the election interference case
against Trump. Judges dismissed the Georgia election interference case and
uh against Trump and others. After this prosecutor or took
over the case said he would not pursue the charges,
(07:28):
ending the last effort to punish, as they put it here,
the president in the courts for his efforts to overturn
the twenty twenty election. And so the executive director of
the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia's name's Pete, not that Pete,
not Boodhajig. He took over the case earlier this month
(07:48):
from Fulton County District Attorney Fanny Willis, who was removed
over that appearance of impropriety created by that romantic relationship
with the special pros that she chose to lead the case.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
What a joke that was. That whole thing.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Remember, I don't know if you watched any of that,
but that guy going back d you know, just lying
his ass off.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
That guy, all he did.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Was lie pathetic was a special prosecutor. Yeah, And so
after that filing, the Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott
McAfee said, hey, it's a one paragraph order dismissing the
case in its entirety. So there it is Trump's election
interference case in Georgia is gone.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
So that's it.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
That's the last thing that was kind of hanging around.
And you know the President was keeping an eye on,
I'm sure, but not that worried, but at least looking
for it to get dismissed. So that's what happened in
that situation. Thoughts on that, were you surprised?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yes, no, you no, No, it had to be dismissed him.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
I mean, it was certainly a bunch of bs, there's
no question, but the fact that it actually happened, I'm like, fantastic,
let's go.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
And he heard about it when he's probably on the
number four hold on in his golf course.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah, that's what you were saying, that he already's teeing
it up because he went to Mara a Lago for
you know, the uh for Thanksgiving and so on. And
I wonder what it's like sitting at that table, can
you match? I mean, I can't even begin to imagine
how good the food is, how much of it is
there is. Probably there might be a big, like a
big server tray of like filet of fish on there too.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
They'll be everything.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
And you know, I read his book when it first
came out in nineteen eighty seven, you know, the end
of the deal. I mean, I've been a fan of forever.
The guy is just amazing, but he just does what
he does and he's he's.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
We don't deserve him. I'll say it.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
I would say that we don't people that have this
freaking TDS, which is the real thing. Yeah's just yeah, sure,
you know, go take an asp for to call us
in three years, Yeah for sure.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
And uh and don't even bother calling in three years
because JD. Vance will probably end up president, So uh,
call us in seven years.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Never let's go.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, or that my number is disconnected or yeah, don't
call us ever.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Do you ever think of like at mar Lago when
they're having Thanksgiving, Like, do you do they have like
stovetop stuffing? You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
My guess is no, in the in the gold room
they're in.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
That's although what's interesting about that is maybe maybe they do,
because there are plenty It's not like stovetop sucks, but
you know, hole made stuffing when you're using the celery
and the onion and they're you know, they're putting the whole.
I'm sure there are people that go you can have
the whole made stuff. I like the stovetop, and I
(10:38):
don't think that that would be his situation, but there's
a possibility.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
I am guessing. I'm guessing because how much they love
the media. I mean, look what the Transportation secretary is doing.
He's sitting in an airplane with a flight attendant talking
about you know what, be nice while you fly and
for pizze, get out of the pajamas.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
You know you heard all about that.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Oh yeah, we talked about it last week, Yeah, earlier
this week.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Whatever.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
But I'm guessing that you'll see a video of Trump
in the large hall with all the family and what
they're eating.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I'm willing to bet.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Let's hope we get some footage of that, because I
want to hear there will be.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
I gotta see it. I gotta see it.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
This also, there's and look, we're not trying to rush
right past you know, Black Friday, Thanksgiving, but on Saturday
and I don't. Ye It's like it's like I want
it to be here, but then I don't, because then
that means you just have that day and the next
day and then we're back at it.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
But I we have so much to look forward to.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
This weekend, but the Ohio State Buckeyes are headed north,
of course into ann Arbor. Well, there is a Columbus
bar owner that says he'll pay everybody's tab if Ohio
State loses.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, that I know.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Benjamin Morgan is the co owner of I'd never heard
of this place, but I love the name Euporia. Then
had a cool name for a bar, Euporia. Anyway, it
calls this a win win for customers, and it's a
campus area bar. And what happens is people there serve
themselves well every other day. They're saying, but you pay
(12:10):
for the beverages by the ounce there, which is kind
of interesting and interesting concept. But if the Buckeyes win,
he's talking about, we celebrate together, and if the Buckeyes lose,
they won't, but if they do, drinks are on the house. Wow,
it's the ultimate confidence vote in our team. He goes
on to say. He's also saying, you know, we wanted
(12:31):
to create an atmosphere where the guests literally cannot lose.
So either we're celebrating a massive excuse me, Buckeye's victory,
or I take the hit and personally pay for everybody's drinks.
Now Here's what's interesting, because there's some fine print. As
you would imagine with something like this. Upouria's bet on
the Buckeyes only covers four servings per guest of drinks
(12:55):
poured at the bar's self serve taps.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
And to be eligible there's this too.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You have to check in, and that means showing an
ID and a credit card to a bartender and getting
a special card to use at the taps between kickoff
and the end of the first quarter. And you also
have to be at the bar if and when he
may have to pay off his bed and so. Euporia
is opening early on game day, like a lot of places,
(13:22):
are drink specials, all starting at nine am. The bar's
planning the Buckeye eating contest at halftime. They have a
postgame DJ lined up, all that stuff on North High Street.
But it's Euporia is the name of.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
The place, you know.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I was thinking about this too a couple of weeks
ago when I was in Vegas on Saturday. And I
don't really forget about this because I've been there enough
during sports events, but I started thinking, Man, if you're
there on Michigan Ohio State Saturday, you start watching at
nine am, Las Vegas time. You're watching at nine am. Man,
(13:56):
it's the it's the ultimate kegs and eggs. Remember those
happened for years and years and years. Were you here then, Zach?
When the kegs and eggs thing was happening on campus?
Speaker 2 (14:07):
There used to be uh.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
I think there was one main bar that would do that,
but there are a lot of places that kind of adopted.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
It, not that I remember. And even if it was,
it was past my time.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
So you've so you've never heard of that before? They
have not the kegs and eggs. I feel like that's
a that's such a Columbus thing, and I don't know
of anybody who does it anymore.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I've never heard of it.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
They should doomuch fun though, They should bring that back.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Well, and it was a Michigan Saturday thing, you know,
everybody gets going early, and so it's eggs and kegs. Yeah,
you tap the kegs with your eggs.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
I mean the egg the kegs in the morning are great,
but by like two o'clock.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Oh well yeah, and that's the idea. Yeah yeah, I mean,
I mean, yeah, you're definitely doing that. But hey, Benjamin Morgan,
co owner of Euporia. That is a really cool thing
you're doing. Yeah, and hopefully you don't have to pay
everybody off. And you know, because the guys are, it's
gonna be different this year, my friends.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
That is.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
It's it's not gonna be the letdown that we've witnessed
unfortunately these past couple.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Of it's gonna be a SmackDown. It is.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
It's gonna be nice in their house by the way,
