Speaker 1 (00:00):
Pleaser show. So, uh, Chuck, tell me, tell me? Was
(00:22):
uh the commercial we just heard because I wasn't listening.
I just heard that it was you and I know
it was awaken. Yeah, but was it one that you
just recorded just now or you have oh you've gotten
newer again newer information?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (00:35):
And uh so for since it is Cinco de Mayo,
it if we were going off the total weight, not total,
but the weight loss for last week, it would be
the sace. I'm trying to think of the yes, as in,
you lost six.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Another six point two this past week and man, oh man,
hang on, I'm gonna stick book. So I actually noticed it?
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Look, Oh no, I can. I'm oh, I'm I'm really.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, I actually noticed it. Looking in the mirror. I'm like,
oh my gosh, I'm I'm going away. This is great.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
How did you get in the building with no shorts on? That?
That's the thing. I don't Did you even catch that, Zach?
I mean he he walked right by you, like the
bottom half of him.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I'm wearing them. They're just really small.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Oh that's right. I just now realized he walked by.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Like every day he comes in and goes hey, snooky
and then I say hey, But then I just I
didn't see anything.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I just saw you call.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Him snooky too.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I call him a lot. You're both my snooky one.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Well I thought it was special. It's not special.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
You're my special snooky.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
No, no, I'm not sharing that. No, you come up
with a different name from me. You used to call
me something to do with my cheeks back in the day.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Was a long time ago, it really was. You lost those.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah, anyway, so uh back to the six point one.
What is your total amount? You need a calculator.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I'm at twenty five point something. Now, that's outstanding.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah, I mean you so the difference because you were
already really kind of basking in the pretty major weight
loss again since I met you. But you know, did
you get to the point where, prior to the twenty
five you've lost now with awaken, that you had settled
into feeling that way every day for the most part,
(02:29):
So it was kind of hard to maybe call back to,
you know, when you were fifty or one hundred pounds heavier. Yeah, yeah,
you understand or get what I'm asking.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
I had hit my brick wall. I thought, okay, I'm
not going to take off anymore. I can't get any more. Off,
I'm done. I kept doing what I had been doing.
That took off one hundred and twenty some pounds and
then I stopped, and uh, you know, I had gone
from a fifty six inch pans to a forty eight.
So I was okay, the forty eighths better than fifty six.
Lost a lot of weight and everything, but I couldn't
(02:58):
get any more. And they said you want to try this,
and yeah, wow.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
So with them and where I was going with that
questioning was the twenty five Now that have you noticed
yet another different feeling or a different level?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yes, yeah, I was actually talking. I had my little
counselor call because you do that weekly.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I still talk to my Yeah, I talked to my coach.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yeah, mine is Jen, and Jen and I were talking
this morning and I said, you know, here's the thing.
With all the changes in my life, and I'm putting
in way more hours than I was just six months ago.
I'm not falling over and six months ago, actually I was.
I was dead tired most of the time. Yeah, I
am not dead tired anymore, even though I'm doing more
(03:42):
stuff and going way longer. Waking up earlier, staying up later.
I'm not I'm not faltering. I feel good, I said
a couple of commercials ago. I was like, I'm not
going to jump over a building or anything. I just
don't feel depleted. Is really awesome. You know, I don't
(04:02):
need to be superman. I just need to I just
need to be alive and awake. Have you noticed a
difference in sleeping? Oh?
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, because that's it feels like my sleep got better.
I don't know that it was.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
It was.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
It's by and large, out of seven days a week,
my sleep would be more sound more times than not.
And prior to taking off weight, it was you know,
hit or miss. And also getting to sleep was not
ever really a problem. It was staying asleep for me,
(04:38):
I would I would be restless, and I still battle
with that sometimes. But I think it's just my brain
turns on and then I wake up and then it's
like got to shut it off, got to shut it off.
But I think just overall, so are you noticing that?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, sleep, I'm much quieter now. The Queen says she
actually has to check and make sure I'm okay because
I used to make noise when I was it was
really snoring, but she said, you just had a like
rough breathing. I knew you were there, he said. Lately,
I'm going just kind of checking to make sure everything's
okay because you're so quiet when you sleep, which is
again that's great. I still get up a lot, but
(05:14):
that's because I'm drinking a lot of water. Yeah right,
and you're so now you're more ninja. Yeah, and you
need you need water. I know you're supposed to drink water.
I have tried to force myself in the past to
drink water. And I don't know if it's the stuff
I'm eating or what, but I'm I'm wanting to drink
(05:34):
more water now. I have no desire to drink sodas
or anything. I still I drink my coffee, but it's
black now I quit putting the creamer in it.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, okay, kind of that's good. More for Zach because
I know he puts vodka into his problem. Whatever it
takes to get you through, maneah. But I just I
just I overall feel better.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
And like I said, when I looked in the mirror
getting dressed today, I'm like, my gosh, I'm reducing When
you bit a fat guy in your whole life, and
you look in the mirror and you can tell something
about you different. That's a big deal because you see
you every day. And exciting.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Man.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, I was like looking at the almost straight line
from my chin down to my waist, like, where's where's
the big bulgy Chuck?
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Where?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Wow? Thank you so much? Get his number for me.
I'm yeah, I'm excited. I'm really excited, and I'm yeah
not done yet, not done yet, Yeah, I still still
got something to go.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
You gotta get to forty or thirty eight? What were
you trying to do?
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Forty was the goal? Thirty eight was the dream? Okay,
and judging by how many notches I've got this belt
on right now, the forty is probably right around the corner.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Okay, that's good. Yeah, man, Chuck is disappearing right before
my eyes. I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I don't say that too loud around here, man, this
is myheart?
Speaker 4 (06:58):
What?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Because that's that? Is that all? I couldn't tell if
that was him saying something or all right, So why
shouldn't we say that around.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Here about me disappearing?
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Because I just never when I come in every day,
my key fob goes peep. I'm like, thank you.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Oh yeah, you know right right. So now with the
new slimmer you, I think you can make the miles
swim from Alcatraz to the shore. You might be sit
enough where the sharks don't even bother. They're like, nah,
there's nothing there. That's not even an appetite.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
You bony for me right about now, let's go find
a squid. Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
I just think that when I saw this headline that
Trump saying he's going to order Alcatraz Prison to reopen,
I was laughing, and then I thought, wait a minute,
this presents kind of a problem because I haven't seen
that yet. One of the bucket list thing for me.
But I've avoided going to San Francisco for all of
(07:56):
the obvious reasons.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Well, you get a lot of stuff on your shoes.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
And that's the biggest one. I was like, I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Want to deal with that.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And I always wanted to see Fisherman's Wharf there too.
I guess it's but I I don't know if if,
but Alcatraz was something I was like, all right, I'll
brave some of the really dumb stuff going on there.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
I just won't talk to many people when I'm you know,
doing yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And so I feel like I started at one point
going Okay, honey, I think we're gonna what would you
say to you know? And she's like, yeah, I guess yeah,
we could, you know, And I got Swine Country. We
can go up you know, north from there. And there's
she there's like eyes lit up. Okay, yeah we could
do and we're going to Alcatraz. She goes, oh, I
think that would be very interesting. So that's one of
(08:44):
those things I really wanted to do. I don't think
this is really going to come to fruition. I don't know, man,
it's hard with him, right. Why was it closed anyway?
They said it was too expensive to continue operating. That
literally is the quote. Alcatraz was closed because it was
too expensive to continue.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Operating the billions of dollars we spend every year on
repeat felons. This was nineteen sixty three. Yeah, it's twenty
twenty five. Let's open that bad boy back up.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, sixty three is when they So it was from
nineteen thirty four to sixty three, and they're calling it
a museum now. But you can do.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Can you?
Speaker 1 (09:22):
I don't think you could stay overnight. I thought I
saw something at one point saying they'll let you stay overnight,
and but maybe that.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Was something like that I saw on I haven't even
had to get me to go up to Mansfield at
Halloween when they do those overnight too our things. I'm
scared to do that.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I just all of the history with Alcatraz is just
it's fascinating to me. So I would love to go
there and get a feel for what it's like. The
ride over you then get to see the stretch from
there to shore, which is a mine ill and that
nobody technically, I guess, escaped and made it if you will.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, well there were three I think that broke out,
but they are they were never They never made it
to shore as far as I know.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Well, they've said that they've disappeared, So if they did
make it over, somehow they have managed to stay hidden
in society somehow.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
Or were there two movies, right, Papillon and Birdman of Alcatraz. Yeah,
I can't believe there are not more movies about that place.
Escape from Alcatraz, Yeah, I forgot all about that one.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
That's Connery. Yeah wait, wait, Connery was one of them, right?
Connery was The Rock The Rock okay, god, no, wait
a minute, all right, Escape from Alcatraz was That's what
I thought Eastwood And then there was The Rock with
you saw that, right?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Nick Cage, Yeah, I thought that was great.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Who was a wonderful actor. I don't know why he
his life just fell apart, and I don't know why
everything he started going straight to video. He's a great actor.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
O Caage.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
I love Nicholas Cage. What a bizarre guy. And I
love his integrity too. He never let anybody know he
was Coppola's nephew until he'd already made his name for you.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, good for him, absolutely, so yeah, Trump said in
a post on True Social America has been plagued by vicious, violent,
repeat criminal offenders. The country in the past did not
hesitate to lock up the most dangerous and keep them
far away from anyone they could harm, so he goes.
So today I'm directing the Bureau of Prisons, together with
(11:35):
the Department of Justice, FBI, Homeland Security, to reopen a
substantially enlarged and rebuilt Alcatraz. So yeah, serve from nineteen
thirty four to sixty three and closed because it was
too expensive to continue operating. Now, this does generate about
(11:55):
sixty million dollars a year according to some other literature
that I was looking at, So about sixty million dollars
a year, which I don't know. If you saw Pelosi's quote,
she was like, he's not serious about this.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
But he's serious about running from president in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, that's the other thing. It's like, Oh, you're gonna
pick and choose this stuff. I mean, how do you
know he's not serious about this yet You're trying to
use the twenty twenty eight thing as fuel to the
dumbest of among us, if you will, you know, I
just think it's it's a really cool thing. And I
(12:38):
don't know as far as opening it again, I don't
even know what it'll house, how many it'll house. But
they obviously would have to redo it. They would have
to they They couldn't, you know, just do a couple
patch things. And I mean, think about how how old
that place is. We wouldn't want prison to be uncomfortable
or anything. Well that part, certainly we do, but but
(13:00):
they would probably need to make it.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, I don't know. We'll put Tim Walls in charge
of the redecorating. We'll need pillows, boys, lots of pillows.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
We have to trolling.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
It's called me do a little trolling.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
We have to have pillows for muffling of screams, you
know from you know Cinco Demayo? Really is it a?
Is it a thing where you because like right now,
go to every Mexican restaurant and they're packed to the
guilt like you can't even get in anywhere.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Most of them. And I don't even know. I read
something about two months ago, and I can't remember what
it said, how people mistook Cinco Demaya as being some
sort of Independence Day celebration, but it really wasn't. But
I can't remember what it is. What is it?
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Zach Zach is like, he's our grok, He's our many groc.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
With a beard, cenco toes echo, he's a he's the
bearded groc, the bearded one, the bearded groc.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
Yes, yeah, I don't seriously, I'm not sure what other
than it just means fifth of May.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
If translated, it's the annual celebration on May fifth to
celebrate Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire at the
Battle of somewhere in eighteen sixty two.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
So that's the legit meaning behind it. Yes, what you
just read, that's a celebration. Who couldn't beat the French.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
The second French Empire, so not just.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
The first time.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
I'm pretty sure the O Bets Militia could beat the French.
No Musieurs.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Joe podcasts on six' TEN wtv dot.
Speaker 5 (14:46):

There for, instance when and, look Gal gado is fantastic
to look, At i'll say.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
IT i mean she's she's, gorgeous AND i probably have
a prejudice against. Her but point being With Wonder, woman
it was for. Me it didn't land because there was
too much before the action. Started, yeah then there's too
much down to like in between. Storyline i'm, like, man
BUT i don't know That i'm the demo they're going.
(16:34):
After because of the, timing When Wonder woman came, OUT
i was so absolutely convinced the casting was. WRONG i
had never heard of this Gal. Gadot as far AS
i was, Concerned cody De pablo Was Wonder, Woman and
because of, THAT i THINK i probably have a preconceived
prejudice against anything involving Gal gado's.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Name, well we can go back To Linda carter if
you want. To, yes let's that she's the real wonder,
woman quite, frankly but that would be silly trying to cast.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Her, now, yeah JUST i Think cody would have been.
Perfect the physical features.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
She, well it's not like Gal gadot doesn't have that.
SHE i, mean you look at her and the way
that SHE i thought she's a fantastic wonder. WOMAN i
just you KNOW i.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Did, well you say the same thing about. ME i
don't think you're a fantastic wonder.
Speaker 4 (17:19):

three inches worth of. Rain we had almost three quarters

(20:10):
dan gone it there it goes. Again, okay oh hey,
guys sorry about. That good, lord these phones.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Talk about communications. Technology you can't even get the button.
Right come, on, man we're On.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Skype.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Guys that would have solved so much.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Problem well we, were but it's dead, now so that
wouldn't help.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
US i.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Right the big question about The skype story is will anyone?
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Notice that is a good, question Although microsoft says still
about thirty six million people Use skype every, day so
it still does get. Used and for their, Part, microsoft
which of course Owned, skype says that anyone who still
has an account can use those credentials to sign into
what they're pushing people to, now which Is Microsoft. Teams
(20:50):
that's their workplace. Software it also has video calling capabilities in,
it but also a whole bunch of other stuff as. Well,
basically From microsoft's, perspective if they had kind of two
of the same type of products and one with a
lot newer, one they had a lot more staffing and focus.
On so they're trying to push people over to that
as opposed To, skype which, is you, know kind of
(21:12):
the end of an, era though you, know it is
sort of a shade of what it once. Was skype
was very, important especially in the early days of video
calling and online.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Communication, hey well that so what you kind of just pointed,
Out you log in or, whatever so it automatically defaults.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
To, teams.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
The free version Of. Teams, yeah And microsoft says that
all of your contacts will transfer over and chat history
and that sort of, Thing so they say it's actually
not going to be a huge transition for a lot of.
People but even, still you, know people really did rely
On skype for you, know specifically dialing phone numbers and
using that over the. Internet interestingly, enough just to pull
(21:52):
the curtain back a little bit, here, guys sometimes When
i'm doing one of these calls with your, station for,
EXAMPLE i like to call Through skype BECAUSE i put
myself on a nicer. Microphone but now you know that
that capability is a little bit harder to do when
you're you, know trying and connect on the.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Phone so what what led to? This they just didn't
want to keep up with technology or advance so it's
kind of become a dinosaur of, sort.
Speaker 7 (22:14):
Sir, yeah there's a couple different reasons to point to
here For skype's. DEMISE a lot of it comes back
to the fact That skype didn't really innovate Under. Microsoft
skype has been around since two thousand and. Three for
a brief period of, time they were owned By eBay
in the mid two, thousands and Then microsoft bought them
in twenty eleven for eight point five billion, dollars which
at the time was. Huge it was the biggest acquisition
(22:37):
That microsoft had ever, made and it really pointed to
exactly how excited people were about the future of video
calling in the twenty. Tens but, now more than ten years,
Later skype kind of looks the same as it did
ten fifteen years, ago, right there were some features that were,
added you, know the styling of it kind of changed over,
time but for the most, part the functionality was largely the.
(22:59):
Same and when you you, know add to the fact, that,
like there were a lot of other competitors that entered the,
fray Namely, zoom but Also, FaceTime which is baked into
All apple devices or Most apple, Devices, uh you, know
services Like slack And discord which are not you, know
necessarily video first started to bake in video capabilities And
(23:23):
Microsoft teams existed internally Within. Microsoft so a couple of
different factors, here you, know kind of culminated to point
to the depth Of skype, here but a lot of
it just seems to be the fact that they didn't
really change with the, times and there's a lot of
other options out there. Now so why would you jump
over To slack when you can just start a video
(23:44):
call Or, SKYPE i should, say when you can just
start a video call within the app that you're already.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
Using so if you.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Try to Use skype right, now like we hung up
and try, to it's it's not. There it's no longer. THERE.
Speaker 7 (23:54):
U it may be there for the rest of the,
day but from what we, understand like today's the day
when it's like shutting. Down although we had an interesting
conversation in the newsroom earlier today it's, like what do
you do if, you, like are on A skype call
at like eleven fifty nine fifty nine, Tonight like are
they gonna kick you? Off like what's the deal? There
so a couple of questions exactly how they're going to Sunset,
(24:14):
Skype but for the most, part you, know starting, tomorrow let's,
say and he tried to log Onto, skype it's going
to be a team's.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Call that's too.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Funny. Mike Mike, DUBUSKI Abc News technology, Reporter, mike thanks
for this pretty interesting, man as we're moving on from
older stuff and getting into the newer. Stuff but, thanks, brother.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Appreciate, it of, course guys take it all.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Right see. Ya you know what it, IS i think
you With. Skype you can't like put those little mustache
like the little mustache graphic on Somebody, udia you have
to have. That, Yeah, well The skype's, like we are
not offering. That it's gotta be a little more. Serious
we're not messing with.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
That do you remember DURING covid when The google guy
or who was, he some corporate executive would on a
zoom call and he did the call as a cat
because he couldn't get the filter. Off that was. Stupid
that's WHAT i.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
LOVE i think that's. Fantastic and my guess, is Seriously
skype was, like we're not adding.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Nuts.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Now, LOOK i don't know that they didn't or did at,
it BUT i just thought it's an interesting angle if they're, like,
yeah we're not gonna, move AND i don't know how
how involved that would be from their side to allow
that if in fact it's not part of what you
can use right. Now but let me tell you there
are probably a lot of people who use that type of.
(25:28):
FUNCTION i never it's FaceTime for me because if you
don't have if you don't Have, apple if you don't
have an iPhone or, whatever The apple, DEVICE i don't
even do that with.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
That skype was buggy to begin. With uh. Glitches, YEAH
i used it back in the early two. Thousands oh
that's what it.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Was pretty new two thousand and, three he was.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Saying but it just, it you, know freezes and things like.
That it just wasn't what it was cut out to.
Be and then you, know not only did they not
innovate the, technology they didn't of eate their. Marketing they
let people forget about. Them and you, know along Comes
zoom and.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Teams good.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
Teams i'm not a big fan of teams so. FAR
i need probably a whole day to sit down and
work with, that Because i'm i haven't been a big
fan so. Far even The google. App google has a
video call app as, well which it's a, freebie and
it works far better than my memories Of, Skype So
i'm not surprised it's it's being put to.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Bed, well the glitchy part and all that is going
to be infrastructure stuff that they you got to spend
the money to keep up with. That if you're gonna
you're gonna keep pace with everybody.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Else what are they gonna do now On coast To coast,
though because don't they Have if you're Using skype call one, Eight,
YEAH i have to redo that the whole recording, now.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
THEN i hook the guy who voiced that one originally
because he might be gone now that would years ago he.
Could so you, know it's like if you're if you're
using Teams.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
West of The.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Rocky, yeah little known fact THAT Uh coast To coast
is on for six. Hours the first hour is just the.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Numbers it doesn't actually start till. One Doom doom. Doom
remember that you've got male. Guy, yeah story from him
a few months. Ago he made like what two hundred
and fifty dollars or. Something oh, yeah and talk about
the deal of a. Lifetime you never had to re
record he, well, yeah they just used it into the
ground for two hundred and fifty. Bucks all.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Right so.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
We were talking about The Kentucky derby sovereignty wins AND
uh beating out.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
JOURNALISM i believe sovereignty Beats june every.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Time stobarty beats journalism seventy percent of the. Time it
wins all the. Time remember that From, well you probably
don't because the look on your, face.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
You're, like what never heard that? One it was?
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Related did you happen to See? Anchorman did?
Speaker 2 (28:19):
YOU i did? Not oh, wow.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
That's one of those movies that, yeah for me to
try to, explain it means. Nothing, now uh zach, Attack
did you See anchorman With Ron? Burgundy Ron? Burgundy, yes
but it's been a, While, okay all? Right, anyway so
back to The Kentucky. Derby, yes So dipper who's called
in if you'll, Remember, yes and he's joining us, Now So,
dipper welcome to the. Show so let me.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Know how it.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Went.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
WELL i had a long, Day SO i started my
day off at four, am cruising down seventy one within
twenty five miles Of, derby and baby's mom decided that
he can outrun my two thousand and, eight so hit
her at seventy miles. Hour so it smashed up pretty
good and pulled outside of the. Road and you, Know
(29:05):
i've been through this. Before it is the third TIME i,
said cars hit a deer so called Iron want TOLDMAR
i was tires, inflated cars still. Running so being from
the west, Side i'm, like you, know we just keep her. Persevering,
man go onto the. Track, well you, KNOW i didn't
grow up the soft neighborhoods Like Upper, Arlington dublin or you,
(29:25):
know Like. Westerville SO i Just i'm, Like, chuck we
know how to keep her persevering and get down.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
There SO i get down the tape. YESTERDAY i, know,
well he gets, better he gets.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Better SO i parked in the guy's yard this. TIME
i usually parked at a, business and he paid forty
bucks and he saw the Damn he, said, Hey i'll
take care of, you all kinds of. Stuff SO i
walked down to the. Track starts pouring down. RAIN i
go in there and they had twins fires dot com
at a tent and then so no.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
One was in.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
There SO i went in there to stay on the,
rains and the guy came. In his name Was, lance
and he's, like, hey you, know you can stand here
as long as you're, betting but you know it's gonna
get pretty, rowdy and so he, says it's all about the,
app So i'm not gonna use the, app but, yeah either,
way he's cool to. Us And i'm sitting there getting
stuff done on my first, race And i'm listening To
Ron wilson and him And Buggy Joe boggs was talking
(30:18):
About Ron wilson, says can you imagine people are showing
up down there in the rain right? Now and the
races until seven? O'clock SO i, Like, RON i take
it to call me an? Idiot is that what you're?
Thinking i'm. SMIRKING i Like, RON i, kiddy BUT i
(30:39):
JUST i just sitting there Thinking i'm an idiot down
here in the. Rain before you, know it's like what
ten o'clock and the races to toil AND i knew
what the race is late late until. Seven but, ANYWAY
i was making my beans on. FRONTY i stopped by
my own PLACE i worked, at AND i told one
of my, managers you, know, Yeah i'm gonna be down,
there and she, SAID i don't like to make mans
AND i tell her how to make beds and all
this kind of. Stuff SO i, say you do your homework,
(31:00):
overnight you text me your.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Best i'll make the best for.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
It so she came up with two hundred and ten
dollars with the best she had. Fifty she had fifty
on sovereignty to win. Fifty she had fifty on journalism to.
Win she had she really sent me a fifty dollars trifecta.
BOX i, said that's three hundred. Dollars so you do
a ten dollars trifecta.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Box that's sixty.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Dollars so she had, sovereignty journalism And sandman unfortunately that. Twenty,
yeah so she hunt for four hundred and forty five
bucks on two hundred ten. Dollars.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Nice AND i was telling, people you, KNOW i.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Was telling you kind of want to read the program
and all this kind of, stuff AND i didn't hit
anything at, all AND i was joking at one point he.
Was every one was, like you, KNOW i was showing
these people out of bed and they're, like you hit,
Things And, NOAH i, Said i'm not bet on the
pink horse in the next. Race we'll sure not the
pink horse. ONE i did that on.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
No, hey, wait, wait, wait let me let me say
And i'll let you keep. Going BUT i have a.
Question so we're four hundred and forty five dollars bet
that she. Won she won four to forty. Five but
then she also gets her two ten back or is
that including the two?
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Ten, no so what? Happened so she had she had
like five or six bets that total two hundred ten.
DOLLARS i got, Cha so she had fifty. Dollars so
that's What i'm, saying is she spent two hundred. Ten you,
know like you'll get people like what? Hit, well how
much money did you spend on the other races before
you so called? Hit how much did you lose before you?
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Hit, yeah so her.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Losses were two hundred ten. Dollars but you, Know i'm
watching the. Dirtbeat i've seen the two horses come down
the front, stretch And i'm, like she's got buffos. Horses
she's gonna win no matter. What And i'm just, like
my horses weren't nowhere near. THERE i don't THINK i
THINK i. HAD i might have had journalism one of.
Them but my big fear was The Bob bafford. Horse
he had the one on the four. Horse he scratched the.
(32:58):
Four that's why the twenty one was in. There the
twenty one was initially wasn't supposed to, run and then
that horse comes in. Third so just imagine the owners
of that, horse you, know at the last minute because someone,
scratched that horse gets in the field and he comes
in third.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Place oh, man oh my yeash.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
So SO i think that a lot of people were
overlooking the twenty one. Horse but you, know she she
told me BECAUSE i texted. HER i, said do you
make these picture of your? Brother she, says, WELL i
made him and she Watched she says she Watched Fox
sports two or something like, that and the one woman
on there was about. Sovereignty so, anyway, though, ANYWAY i
(33:38):
started to leave AND i walked back to, it and
this is the first nine of parts in the. Neighborhoods
And i'm GLAD i, did because the neighborhoods are like
The Ohio state The Ohio neighbors between Higher state fairgrounds
in the and the campus and that's pretty much what
they are up, there Between louisville and The churchill down.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Rough.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
Yeah but everyone was. Cold they were selling the like
pulled pr se which is all that, stuff and the
one little kid and, said you, know Happy Derby. Day
his older brothers, like don't Be su'm, like, no you know,
what that made my day because that's what it was all.
ABOUT i, mean you had so many people in the bed.
RAIN i felt sorry for those. Women they're dressed to.
Tease they were wearing their bonnets or high heels of
(34:16):
mud everywhere it's.
Speaker 6 (34:17):
Raining they had a line for their.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
RESTROOMS a man just walked in and walked. Out And i'm,
like any woman that goes through that for seven hours
is a very dedicated to be.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Sure it was all about sure is? Well, Anyway, dipper,
Fantastic thank. You we got to get to some other stuff,
here but those are some great. Stories and, MAN i
wish you would have followed her betting man so you
could have came away with some. Cash so, YEAH i
still have. Fun, yeah sounds like.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
It love the Enthusiastic it's fantastic. Part they used to
hear a great.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Reporter.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Dude, seriously there's a kid At Siota downs when you
go down To Siota, downs and he was he was
like seventeen or, so but he get up there with
the MICROPHONE pa system and like talk about the rate
and nobody ever listened to. It dipper could do, that
AND i would pay. Attention, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
It's, Good. Dipper thanks, Brother we appreciate, everything and thanks for,
Listening thanks for calling back. In all, right no, problems
see you, Man it's.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Good. YEAH i love that. Enthusiasm you don't hear that very. Often.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Uh are you gonna hear any enthusiasm For Little house
on The prairie being? REMADE I i just on my.
Head i'm scratching my head over. This i'm, like are
you really Gonna are you really gonna create the wholesomeness
that Was Little house on The prairie in twenty twenty?
Five are you gonna really recreate? That because everybody knows
when you look at this cast AND i don't know
(35:36):
one name on the. Here now you're more well rounded
with regard to. This seems like with the, stars the, actors,
whatever AND i dare say you probably be hard pressed
to recognize any of these.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Names All, right hit, Me Luke, Bracy he's gonna Play.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Laura that's really.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Fun it's twenty twenty. FIVE i had to, ask good.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Look, No, see that's the. Thing they. Wouldn't they've got
to somewhat follow the way that it was then to
now they now if they start trying to introduce girls
kissing on, there and you Know nelly Likes Laura. Ingle
you know Which laura Was, No and you just made
(36:20):
me think of. THAT i didn't even think about that.
Aspect but they better not try.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
That oh, yeah they're little lesbians on the prairie and,
yeah it'll be a completely different. Show it was, like, literally.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
It does like a storyline for a porno or something like.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
That we'll. See, Man i'm here to play all the.
Fields the whole idea Of dump The wiburrow having a
classic is to leave that classic as a. Classic don't
mess with, it leave it. Alone that's just something you
don't want to.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Touch Crosby, fitzgerald you. Recognize, No, no they're set to
play the, Parents charles And Caroline, Angles Skywalker HUGHES i.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
Know or just the. NAME i don't, like whoever that.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Is that's. It it also joined on to play the eldest,
Daughter Mary angles member she ends up going, blind, Right.
Yeah they Joined Alice, halsey who will be Playing Laura,
ingles the family's second. Daughter like they need to tell, us,
well they need to do this because there might be
a bunch of young and reading it and the daughter in.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
The marian is going to respond to the whole concept
of the little house on the. Prairie though that's.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
No all these heathens growing up, now are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (37:34):
Me?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Now the grandkids will watch my old black and white,
shows and, Uh i'll tell you what they, watched The,
Westerns AND i wish somebody would do some some new westerns.
Again i've actually THOUGHT i should sit down and write
a new Gun, Smoke BUT i can't think of anyone
THAT i would pick In hollywood who could Replace James
Arnessa's Matt. Dillon M but you got a GOOD i,
(37:57):
mean there's guns, involved they're shooting, involved but they're there's
good guys doing good guy stuff and bad guys paying
the price for being bad. GUYS i don't think that's
a bad lesson to.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Learn it's. NOT i just don't know that it lands
in twenty twenty. Five and do you really need to redo,
this especially if you're going to do it the same exact, Way,
no because what really changes about it and you don't
really want. Anything is there an updated version that you, go,
yeah that would work better because the type of show it,
(38:28):
was the lessons and everything with. IT i just don't
know that any of it. Applies. Right we need it
now more than. Ever if it's the.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Same, way then there's no, point and if it's, different
then it shouldn't be. Called they tried it With, walker for,
example except it Wasn't Walker Texas. Ranger it was Just
walker using the kid from the kid he's probably forty
From uh what was the thing with him And sam his?
Brother they were chasing ghosts and goblins and. Stuff oh my,
GOSH i can't even remember the. Name, no it was
(38:57):
A tv show where he inherited this ghost chasing from
dad and went out and fought demons and. Stuff, Supernatural,
yes thank. You so it was a guy From supernatural Playing.
WALKER i thought it was going To dog the bounty,
him but it Was, Sorry, no that should be redone
as a. Cartoon it would be more.
Speaker 1 (39:15):
Believable point, being most of this stuff shouldn't be, remade,
right you, know it really has no no that it really.
Lands and then Also Jillian anderson hinting she could return
FOR X files.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Reboot i'm you know, What i'm, sorry BUT i don't
think she was as much an important part of that
puzzle As dukeveny WAS i Think molder is more important than. Skularly,
YEAH i didn't watch any of. That, WELL i did
not first. RUN i watched all in.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Reruns, yeah and did you, go, OH i should have watched?
Speaker 2 (39:46):
It, yes and. RERUNS i thought this was actually a
pretty decent.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
Show did you ever want? This looks like something up
Your allies?
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Act? Yeah, YEAH i LIKE X?
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Files, okay what about a? Reboot are you?
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Going?
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Yeah BUT i don't. Know JILLIAN'S i don't, know mid.
FIFTIES i don't.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
Know i'll give it a, chance LIKE i don't HAVE
i don't know what my hopes are that it'll be any,
good But i'll give it A, CHANCEY i Think jillian's fifty,
five fifty.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Six, yeah so she's she still looks. Good, yeah but
what if there's no new company?
Speaker 4 (40:13):
Then?
Speaker 1 (40:15):
RIGHT i, mean would you, Go, okay you can put
her with somebody that replaces, him And i'd be, Like,
okay this is, cool or would you, Go, no this doesn't.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Work i'll Try i'll try. It it was it was
his obsession that made the show worth. Watching you were
actually kind of living life With Fox. Molder his obsession
with finding the. Truth she was. Ancillary she was a
skeptical partner Who, okay they had a romantic thing vibe
going between, them and you were kind of rooting for
him on that. Level but it was his obsession with
(40:46):
finding the truth that made the show. Interesting, YEAH i.
DON'T i don't think it works without.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Him, Okay, YEAH i JUST i figured you guys would
have a take on that for, sure BECAUSE I i
HONESTLY i had to be a transparent and, say, Well
i'm not.
Speaker 2 (41:01):
Completely open to seeing, it but no.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Expectations are you hoping for a wardrobe malfunction With Jillian?
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Anderson? Ah? Sure are you also hoping for one With
David dukevney already had? It there you, Go.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Weather sports and The Mark Blazer show on six'.
Speaker 8 (41:18):
Ten wtvn EVERY time i hear, THIS begin i think.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
It's that what? Was, it hey?
Speaker 1 (41:29):
It's rocking, Oh, yeah michael well.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
It was it was. Twice done the remake in the
eighties was the soap OPERA guy i can't remember his
A rock on was the name of? The, Song Yeah? David?
Essex right is that? The one was?
Speaker 7 (41:50):
The?
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Original Oh, Michael, damien Okay Rock On, david essex.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
That's it that was. The, Original, right okay It wasn't
it does sound. Your time i'm just.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
Saying, it actually that does sound like that at.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
The beginning it does. Kind, of yeah favor Of The.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Chief meteorologist marshall McPeek. Joining, Us, now marshall you are
fortunate you have dogs that are taller and can be
seen in. Long grass my dog is disappearing now in
my lawn because it's too wet for me, to mow
and it's really really starting to.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
Concern me, SO yeah I wish i could tell you
that was going to get better in the next day,
or so but that's unfortunately not.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
The case it's going to be.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
Pretty wet severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect right now
For the newark Area From buckeye lake all the way Up,
into newark as well as Parts of Perry And, fairfield
counties a little Bit Of. Muskingham county big storm Down
near mcconnellsville is about to Head towards zanesville and some.
Severe storms looks like that's Right in cardington. Right now
(42:51):
that thunderstorm warning lasts for another, twenty minutes could get
some one inch hail and sixty mile per hour winds
out of. That one so we have storms across the air,
right now and there's a batch that's off to our
southeast that's Marching toward columbus. Right now we're expecting more
of that to be in here during, the evening so
we'll have to stay weather aware at least for the next.
Few hours overnight tonight down to forty, nine degrees we'll
(43:14):
still have some scattered, showers around and Then, on tuesday
scattered showers with a high near. Sixty two so it's
going to be, a cool, breezy day less likely to.
Be severe seventy Two, on wednesday with. Some sunshine, All,
right marshall, thank you sixty seven? Back massive hey.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
What do you?
Speaker 1 (43:40):
Said there? Boogie too?
Speaker 2 (43:41):
Id all?
Speaker 8 (43:41):
Who?
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Knows show this is the Date of essens?
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Right shoes, oh yeah did you? Boogie too did? You
go i'm looking at?
Speaker 8 (43:53):
The lyrics you, wit, Witches, winds gilteal The gimble?
Speaker 2 (44:08):
Jean queen WHY do i know the words to A
song i hate? So much it's how you?
Speaker 4 (44:14):
Are?
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Anyway yeah those what's a blue jean? BABY queen i
had something to do with. The seventies everybody was a
blue jean something or other in. THE seventies I Guess
bobby vinton was A blue. JEAN guy i remember him Blue,
BEL yes i did say he because he.
Speaker 4 (44:34):
Wore it.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
So uh to bring us closer to twenty, twenty five
there was a cinematic VIDEO that i thought was pretty
Interesting from Wolfgang van Halen and mammoth is. HIS band
i did not realize where The name mammoth, came FROM
and i happened to stumble across IT because i was
(44:57):
just looking at different Footage Of David, lee roth which
we'll get to here in. A, second yeah but there
was an old photo, of him? Is it it's an
old Photo Of David lee roth in a in. Somebody's
yard as they were Performing as Early, van halen but
they Weren't van. Halen yet they had a bunch of
(45:19):
different names until they finally landed On Ed ian alex's
last Name. Van Halen but mammoth was one of those
Bands that Early van halen was before they Were. Van,
halen wo so That's why wolfgang Is using mammoth for,
his band and their. Name gotcha, and then as you
know wolf he played In van halen for. A while
(45:43):
when they RelA He Replaced michael Anthony the base and
he was doing high Harmonies with ed and he's a really.
Talented kid that debut album is so GOOD and i
Was telling ZACH that i put that On when i'm
MOWING and i can listen to it from top. To
bottom it's. It's good it's Don't Expect van halen two
point zero or Whatever. With wolfe he's. Very different and
(46:07):
what's also really interesting is how his mind has taken
him To where mammoth and the sound that he gets
given that a lot of his younger years he was
bass player and high harmonies for All The van halen
stuff while, they Toured when david was, still SINGING and
i mean it was it's crazy to think that he
(46:28):
gets the sound Out of mammoth that, he does just
given his influences during. That, Time anyway so there's a
new song Called. The end it's the lead single from
another it's the third, Studio Album. THIRD what i didn't even.
Realize that but this video. Is interesting it's an homage
To From Dusk till dawn because this video pays homage
(46:52):
where it's, you know this rock band performing at a
dive bar descends into chaos and it's pretty cool the
way that they do it And Includes danny trejoe is in,
The video slash is in, The Video miles kennedy And
Then valerie bertinelli is actually in, the video Which is,
wolfy's mom And So Machete don't text But Check Day
(47:15):
don't text was one Of The danny treyo like Lines.
From anyway so it was Directed By Robert Rodriguez, greg
nicotera and it's a really. COOL video i feel like
the video is cooler than. The song but this one
gets a. Little more at the beginning sounded More like
dad From. From wolfy but here's how. It starts check.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
This out.
Speaker 6 (48:13):
Got a lot.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Of energy just the stamina of moving his fingers, that
long that quickly and in time. Is amazing.
Speaker 1 (48:57):
Then, the breakdown? WHO'S drummings i don't even know who.
That is i'm not even.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
Sure he's got a heck of a left foot going.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Oh yes and it's it's really. Quality music gives it
your cup. OF tea i don't know you have to.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
Answer, THAT yeah i could listen, To it i'll be honest.
With you, THE vocals i hear a younger McCartney. In,
there wow this sounds like wing stuff. To me, vocalist, HMMM.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Yeah i. Don't know i'm not, hearing that, but interesting
that's interesting that that.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
You are the drums are. Almost anthraxish, oh yeah this
is just A heavier it's a. Heavier tune and that's
the thing.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
With that the, first record it was some of the
stuff's heavier and then some of it Is more maroon,
five ish, you know the way that it's kind of,
more soulful and.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
You know diversity. Pays off he'll, End up he'll, end up,
you know a Big mega. Mondo star.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
It's interesting we'll see. With him but he seems like
a he's so he's, really talented but he's you can
IT'S like i can feel the conviction in his music
like that. He wrote it does not feel fake or
thin or hollow. To me it feels very real with what,
he's doing like he's one hundred Percent loves it's not
(50:24):
him acting Or going i'm going to do this because
it's what is expected, of.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Me, you know or. What happen this may, sound Bad
but i'll say. It anyway because we've talked about the
fact that he's he's been. VERY clear I don't I'm
not i'm not an impression of. My dad i'm not
here To. REDO dad i have no intention of Being
Van halen. PART two i almost hear in His performing
i'm Better, than Dad and i'm going to show You
(50:49):
he's he's coming at you. Hard there that's that's that
sounds like he wants everybody to. Know you my Name,
is Wolf but I'm not eddie you this, is me and.
Speaker 1 (50:59):
That's that's that's interesting that you think he's better or
saying that.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
HE'S better i think that he's very FOCUSED to, i
mean he may not be what he would call better
yet or what many people will call, better YET but
i think that's that's. His focus he wants to be
The van halen that's remembered in.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
The, end, I'll i'll i'll definitely be one of the
people saying there's he's nowhere close to What ed ed
created his, own everything, quite frankly from top. To bottom
you think about, that guy he didn't. Copy anybody every
single thing he did was. Very original, his sound everybody
tries to. Recreate it playing up the neck was. Just
(51:37):
that that was a trademark thing.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
With him and on top of, everything else he Created
Ed van halen, was FUN and i Don't think wolfgang
has necessarily mastered that yet Because everything i've ever seen
he's had a very very serious type of thing.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
Going on, HE'S struggling i think some, you know knowing
that he's he missed, his dad there's no question, about
that and, rightly so do.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
You have any?
Speaker 1 (52:00):
Of That David lee roth possibly cueued up, because man he's.
Performing now he started PERFORMING and i don't understand why
why he's.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
Doing this he just he looks like. A caricature yes.
He does he's. Got that he's like.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Permanently smiling when he's, looking around he's shaking his head, like, yeah,
yeah okay go which song?
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Is this.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
It?
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Doesn't matter can? You tell, all right, let's hear. Let's
hear This Is David lee roth like over like the
last couple of days he. Performed this what they sound
(53:11):
like a passable.
Speaker 1 (53:11):
Bar, band yes it's EXACTLY what i.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
Was thinking you.
Speaker 3 (53:16):
Should see, the crowd they are driving them.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
Completely mild, you remember after after He left Van, hale
andy He, released SKYSCRAPER which i just like Living. In
paradise that was that. Was good it Sounded. Very vanhaliation
his Cover Of Justin Giglow. California girls those. Were fun
he missed a major marketing he. Should have the band
(53:39):
should have been put Together called Humble A baby Lazy
Bla babylly Humbly A baby Lazy. Blay bop that should
Have Been David lee, ross's band and he should have
ridden that wave as far as possible and then gone.
Away quietly so eat him.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
AND smile i thought was a really good record from
Him with Steve V greg Bissonett And. BILLY she i
mean that was that was like a super group and,
You Know going Crazy And, yankee rose and that was
a really good record. From him then it was JUST
like i don't have any. More, idea yeah he's a.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
JOKE NOW i i wish he'd let just go away
and be the legend.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
You were AND like i, WAS saying I Think tina
turner was the one, that said the LAST time i perform,
after that it's got to be as good AS what
i used to, sound LIKE because i don't want people
SAYING when i perform after It going she used.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
To sound, pretty, good right used to be. Pretty good,
you know she was a, wild woman, everybody tall, you
Know proud mary with aike, and everything and how The Best,
tina turner, private dancer. The sultry all the men come in,
these plays, he says the men. All same oh, MY
(54:51):
gosh i just she painted a picture with. HER voice
i think that was the best thing she. Ever did
