Speaker 1 (00:00):
Pleazer Show.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
All right, here we go, welcome in and thank you
for listening. Chuck has the day off, and Congressman Troy
Balterson has joined me, and uh man, tis the season.
Baseball's here. We were just talking baseball when we were
coming on, and I love the stony. I love that
imitation you did of you, dude, son man.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
That I can't even tell you like.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I'm just like, he started pitching last year and now
we got him working with a pitching coach on mechanics
and stuff. And he's throwing like fifty five fifty six,
fifty seven miles an hour. He's eleven. He's strong as
an ox. So I love it. I love that, and
he's he's done it. About face last year or the
first year, he was like, I just I hope I
get walked. He would tell I'm afraid to get hit dad,

(01:12):
and I think that's pretty normal at that age.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But he's he's gotten it. He's got like an elbow.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
I mean, he's got the gear now and all this stuff,
and it's created some a little bit of confidence. And
then he started hitting and stuff. He's doing well. He
goes we have a membership and he goes and works
on stuff. So it's man, it is so fun watching him.
I'm I'm living vicariously through him. He's talking about he's
gonna buy me a house and stuff. It's the greatest.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
And I can still remember a little stunny with his
ice cream cone Meltain walking down the.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Seat to DC it like it was, it was.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
It was so hot.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oh my gosh. Man, I was leaving the house today
and Josie's there. I go, I'll tell Uncle Troy. He said, Hi,
he's coming in today. She's like, oh yeah, oh tell him.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I said hello.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So yeah, they're all great kids. Yeah, thank you, brother, right,
and they're growing up. You know how it goes, Man,
yours are.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
I got to give a shout out today my one
and known lady Josh celebrating his birthday today.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Oh wow, that's great, Josh was.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
I got my Josh's birthday today. And my mom is
turning eighty five on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
That's amazing though.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
It's a big week.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
And the Balderson claim, Man, that's awesome. That is awesome.
Eighty five is a is fantastic. My dad on the fifteenth,
he's tax day, is his birthday. He just turned eighty three.
So born in forty two. So there it is. Man,
your mom was born in.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Forty forty yeah, so there it is.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
I got in one of those cards. It's it's enormous.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's like oversized, and then it says like, you know,
eighty three that means your and then it breaks it
down to like how many days.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Old you are?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
Hours old?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, second, excuse me, seconds you're you know how many
seconds old you are? And then it goes through what
was in nineteen forty two, all the different like the
Academy Awards all that stuff, So it kind of it's.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Like a time capsule onmost on the card.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
I go to Hallmark trying to find good cards like that,
and I can't even.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Find Oh yeah no that was an Amazon special Amazon, Yeah,
I look.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
And then I got in this.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Other one and said, you know, it's like a vintage
you know, is like all original parts and the T
shirt you know and all that. So he loves that stuff. Man,
it's great. It's great, man, fantastic. I you know, so
blessed you know to.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Have our parents.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, absolutely, the same with my mom. So yeah, it's
all good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure, So everything good.
You're you're off right now, I never know your schedule.
I mean you're like, oh, well, I get all excited.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
I know when you text it's gonna be a good day.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah, we're in district this week, so ran around this morning,
was in Lancaster this morning.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
No rest.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Well this is the best part. I mean, this is
when you're able to come back, get in the district.
Tomorrow we're gonna be up in Tuscaroras County spending a
whole day up there.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Friday, will be in Holmes County all day. So it's
it's good. It gives you the ability to jump around
the district. We'll be in Friday, will actually we'll be
in Holmes County and then we'll finish up am Jen
the pharmaceutical facilities hoping up and a bus sight in
Licking County.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
So, man, there's so much stuff happening in Ohio. It's exploding, right.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
It is the great of the country. It's crazy, it
really is. It's great also too, just going back a
little bit. But I can't help but think of you
and and you know Congressman Jordan, and of course you
know Carrie and all you guys who are flying in
and out all the time to Reagan and watching all
of the craziness that is happening there, and you're and

(04:48):
I'm sure you're like, not me. I'm flying into Philly now,
I'm just going to drive in Dallas. That's going to
Dallas because nothing stupid's happening over there, dude, with with
Reagan and I it's just you know, for a while there.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
And you.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Say to yourself, are they target? Is that the mainstream media?
Because dumb stuff happens at a lot of airports. We
probably don't need to know about all of it, because
some of it would probably and I think it happens everywhere.
Let's face it, there were humans involved in getting planes
up and down and in and out and all of that.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
But that's what that's scary. Part of this. Was it
really a near miss?

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Well, some of it, I would imagine is you could
quantify as a near miss. But it seems like there
it was like the mainstream media wanted to focus on that,
and it was.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Well they do they want to focus on anything like
that because they think it's been impact and look and.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
They want to go the Transportation secretary sucks.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
You know, Well, Booty jag.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Right, who's sporting a beard.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Now I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I saw him on TV a beard and at that
particular airport.

Speaker 5 (06:04):
It's a little airport. I mean it's it's smaller than
Columbus and it's a lot of traffic.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I just six.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Yeah, man, you said you saw what it was like,
and it's just it's it's basically on an island on
the Potomac there, So it's it's a small airport.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
You know.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
It's got nothing to do with those. It's just those
are some of the mishaps that unfortunately happened. But every
like you said, every little thing that's going to happen
over there is going to be announced and they're going
to try to attribute to something that's happened under the
Trump administration, which is not true.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, there are some things that are I mean, you know,
the stuff that they report is happening. But the thing
is that the thing to remember is most likely it
was already. There are all these other instances where it's
happened over the years as well. Either way you stack it,
it doesn't sit well with people, especially when they're privy
to it. Now exactly, they shine a light on it

(06:58):
an extra lot, an extra right light, and you know,
as busy as that place is. And then as you know,
you saw what happened with the helicopter and the crash
there got oh.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
My gosh, ri they're no longer flying helicopters anymore.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
That's done.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
And that was the first thing.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
You know, Chuck and I were on the air and
I said, man, I am I am a simple minded
person as it gets I really am. Here and there
all have some common sense that makes sense. But the
first thing I thought of, I'm like, why would they
be flying near any path of any commercial aircraft.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
They did before?

Speaker 4 (07:32):
I mean, I know I was seeing coming in.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
That's my thing that I didn't understand. I was like,
why are they doing why?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
And they're like, well, they're just preparing for real, a
real world emergency or whatever. And I'm like, they need
to prepare that somewhere else. Sorry, I mean, this is
that was just it was so unavoidable. It's like why
all those people perished for nothing?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
For nothing? I mean, it was like, I know, you
guys had to all be stunned.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Stunned. And then you know, I flew back that first
week and you know, after the first after it happened,
and you could still see everything. The debris, I mean
it was there. It's just and look you not talked
about that. You can't help the thing say prayers on
that plane. Yeah, and uh, it's just it's just it
was hard broken.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Heart when I when I came in in January to
watch the certification in the in the chambers. When I
flew in for that, Uh, coming in, we bounced erocd
like that was pretty rough.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I mean for me and I've flown not a lot,
not even closed.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
As much as you, but I was like, uh, it
was it was pretty I was looking around on the
plane to see if anybody else had like the white knuckle.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Looking around and everybody else was just kind of looking
at their their phones and stuff. And I'm guessing most
of those people flew that that path all the time.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I don't know what it is, man, I'm telling you, dude.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
It was like it is always bumpy coming in there,
and sometimes it'll just that plane just drops.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
I didn't like it. I was like, oh, I did
not like it.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Dollars flying the dollars to forty five minute drive though,
from Dollars to the Capitol.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Yeah, that's that's that's the downside, and that's why you.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Or whatever, don't you or you know my no, no,
I do. My staff will pick me up. Oh okay,
And that's for most part. I mean sometimes we'll we'll
catch up together. I mean, if I Jimny's on the
same flight, we'll a tag team up together to I mean,
because we're all go the same office building, right, just
ride over together. Yeah, yeah, carpool carpool. I couldn't think
of the word. Yeah, carpool, not very much, but sometimes.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Right, So yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
That wasn't even it just popped into my head thinking
because you're just back and forth so much. So it
was you know that traveling that route and then seeing
you know something else where, uh, you know a Southwest
plane just a near miss or when wings clip almost
clip when they're on the ground, and it's just silly
stuff and you never really hear about that. Think about

(10:07):
I don't know how much is going in and out
of DC, but you know how much I go to
Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
I mean, think about the air traffic going in and
out of Harry Reid.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, and it has to rival I would think DC.
Maybe not though I don't know.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Yeah, I would know, And they just came out at
the top ten airports.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
So I can't remember that list. We need to dig
that up.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
On our next commercial break, I'll find it. The top
ten airports, the ten busiest.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Oh yeah, I have that, you do. Okay, here we
go at number one.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
You're on it.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
I know.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
How about that? Well, have you been to Shanghai that's
at ten?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Wow? I have not.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Been to say, You're like, uh yeah, about three weeks ago. Why,
I'm like, what got something?

Speaker 3 (10:53):
No, that's fine.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
New Delhi is at nine. Then you got Chicago. Now
they don't.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
I flew in the Chicago go it's recently.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
It's O R D.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
So that is not there's uh there's one big midway
than that Midway that's O'Hare.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Yeah right, okay, because Midway is in the middle of
the neighborhood.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
It's in the middle the neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah. Literally.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
As a matter of fact, I remember now I've connected
through Midway when I've been going to Vegas before, and uh,
I don't. I don't remember which airline it was. All
I know is I do remember reading. As a pilot,
you have to have logged so many hours to fly
in and out of there if you're going to be
the guy in control of getting the plane off the

(11:33):
ground and onto the ground, So you could be the
the copilotlot but you can't be you have to have
so many hours. Now that was once upon a time.
I don't know if that's still the case. But because
the plane comes in like this, it almost has to
go and then land, it's not it can't come in
at this side. Well there's some sort of ordnance noise
or yeah, because they have to stay up so high

(11:56):
before they come down or else. Think about if you
lived anywhere in that said it, he'd be like your
house would just shake all the time.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
That'd be horrible. Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, I was saying I love golfing at the airport
golf course.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
Number I mean they'd fly over, but any of them noise?

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Keep on at number seven is Stanbul? Where's that Turkey?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Okay? Okay, I can hear.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
At number six Denver. I've flown into Denver too, yep.
Number five London, Heathrow. Never never been to London, I
haven't either, Tokyo. And number four in Dallas Fort Worth at.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Three blown in there before. That's a huge airport.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
And then have you been to Dubai.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
No, I haven't, No, And that's a good They got
a good golf course over.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
There, don't.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Oh a couple, Yeah you die Ememirates that place is
it's Richie rich over there. That's at number two and
the number one busiest airport Atlanta. Yeah, so so Dallas
and and Reagan they didn't even make it in the
top ten far as world's ten busiest. These are the
ten busiest airports. So it's funny that you bring that up.

(13:05):
I'm like, oh, I happened to have that info right
in front of me. That story just dropped today.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I saw it somewhere in the last twenty four hours,
so it just didn't know.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Yeah, and again I'm a little surprised that there weren't
some but there were four US airports in the top
ten there, so not surprised.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Atlanta is ridiculous. Yeah, I've flown into there too. So
if you fly Delta, I would think just about every
time you're gonna end up somehow going through Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Yeah, somehow, someway.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
American is and that's said America is a hub now
for Reagan. So that's a lot of transfers have done there.
I think Columbus Airport Joe out there is doing a
fantastic job. I mean he's managed in a construction site.
You know.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I can't wait for it to be finished.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
It's gonna be really beautiful.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I've been on a plane a couple of times with
people that have just their first time flying in the
Columbus and they saw they said, like, man, this is awesome.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
I mean, this is a nice airport.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
You can maneuver and get around really easy, and so
I'm excited for it.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
It is easy to get around there earlier, all the
different concourses, there's nothing confusing there. And but when we
get when everything is complete, it's I don't know how
long it's going to be a.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Lot twenty I think as well. It was really I
think so real years now. I don't want to get
the listeners all picked up here.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Maybe I shouldn't say that, but that's incredible. Yeah, I
mean it's moving fast. I mean I like, like mad
that McDonald's was gone.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
I know, bummer, yeah, sou more with Congressman Troy Baldersenter's here,
Harvard University suing the Trump administration to stop the funding freeze.
Can we laugh, Yes, we can laugh absolutely heartily, I
should say.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
But yeah, well we'll get into that here in just
a second.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
This is stupid, it is.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
I mean, yeah, anyway, more with that, we have a
lot of stuff that we're going to get to, so
stand by Weather Sports and the Mark Blazer Show was
six ten WTVN. All right, Congressman Troy Balterson in studio,
so more with him here in just a second. And
Chief Meteorologist Marshall McPeak is joining us right now.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
And uh yeah, Marshall.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
The there's three did you hear about Are.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
You a Pringles guy? Do you like Pringles or no?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
I like Pringles? See I like Pringles Stone. Look, you
know what I had a re It was like eleven
years ago. Well actually it's probably more like nine because
he started getting old enough to start and he almost
I had forgotten about Pringles but he I don't know how,
but he kind of resurrected them in our household. Now
I'm like, man, anyway, point being, there are three new flavors,

(15:46):
and they do have a Walmart exclusive flavor.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Did you happen to see this? What you got?

Speaker 2 (15:51):
So the new Miller Light Grilling inspired flavors are Miller
like beer can chicken and Miller Light grilled beer brought.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
So it's a but these are these are chips pringles? Yeah, yeah,
so they taste like beer brots. Well, let me know
if you I'm still trying to wrap my brain around
how that works. But okay, beer canned chicken Pringles.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
They feature flavored a roasted chicken with garlic, onion, and
Miller Light Original Life beer.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Now I don't know, I gotta I gotta run these down.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Like something you'd burp up after. It's probably more accurate. Actually,
was that Miller? That was Miller Light?

Speaker 3 (16:36):
But how is that? That was like garlic?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Wait? No, that?

Speaker 2 (16:39):
And then you go, how did I I'm I'm tasting
Miller Lite, but I'm I'm drinking Stella? How did how
did that work? That would be what I'd be doing.
Then there's the grilled beer brought chips. They have a
smoky peppery brought flavor, caramelized onions, brown spice, and the
malt beer aroma of Miller Light.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
This is what I know, right, It's like so it's.

Speaker 6 (17:02):
Kind of like those you remember they had like the
entire Thanksgiving dinner on a potato chest.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yes, flavor.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
It seems kind of like that where it's like there's
a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Going on there, too much, right and yeah?

Speaker 5 (17:15):
And you know how are.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
They pulling that off?

Speaker 2 (17:18):
And you take a bite and you go, man, I
just say, size a chip with a lot of spices
on it.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
You know, you know what? You still had me at
potato chip with garlic?

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Well then yes.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Then there's the Miller Lite Braised Steak flavor, and that's
the third one that features onion, garlic and Miller. I'm
going wait a minute, it seems like we're repeating ourselves here,
but I did want to throw in there is a
this that's the Walmart exclusive and they say it's reminiscent

(17:48):
of char grilled steak, onion, garlic, and original midlo.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
So I'm like, okay, what's going on here?

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Well, look, it's a it is a it's it's a
publicity thing. I guess I'll let you know. If I
get any we'll have to test drive him up, you
know what. I'll bring some down and leave them there
for you.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Oh, I like where you're going with this.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
Do you remember who was It was Arby's.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
They made a.

Speaker 6 (18:11):
French their Curly Fry vodka. Do you remember this, oh
you know what years ago? I do, because either what
you brought it up?

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Didn't you? Or did I? But I wear but I
was all about it. Did you track it down or
figure it out? Or no? We couldn't get it.

Speaker 6 (18:27):
We tried, okay, and we were like it sold out
in like twenty eight seconds, and so that was the
end of that.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
But I do remember that.

Speaker 6 (18:36):
They just keep coming up with these bizarre flavors.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
You know.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
It's like they partner WAC and cheese peeps. I mean
it's just.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Like, yeah, they they're doctor Pepper peeps. True story because
they we had them and Stone liked him. I hate peeps,
but he was like they taste like doctor Pepper. So
I'm okay, fantastic, there's enough sugar there. You're good, right, exactly? Man,
This is great weather.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
Oh it's beautiful outside tonight. I mean we've got sunshine
galore right now. Overnight we're going to drop to forty
nine degrees, so that's still above average for this time
of the year, and a fantastic day tomorrow. Are you
planning a ride tomorrow? It's a good day for it.
I am, yes, eighty and sunshine. It should be a
fantastic afternoon to be on two wheels.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Then Thursday, get home before the rain starts. Thursday, we
could get some scattered showers, maybe a few thunderstorms later in.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
The day, a high around eighty two. All right, thank
you Marshall. It is seventy right now.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Congressman Troy Balderson in studio. Yeah you you rot no motorcycle? Okay,
I didn't know if you you still have it? Oh yeah, okay, cool,
love it. Yeah, tomorrow is a good day for it.
But if you're going around to different stuff, do you
are you ever able to pull that off?

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Or you have to go four wheels.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
No, I've done it on the motorcycle before and people
love it when I when I roll up on the motorcycle,
they thought, like I take the he and off.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
They said, oh my god, you ride a motorcycle.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
That's pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
Yeah. Yeah, we do it in the district. Okay.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
It's man talk about getting some release. I mean, it's
just fun. It's good to get out. And the twelfth
Congressional District has got the best roads for motorcycling.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
I mean up through Holmes County.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
And Tuscararas County and Morgan County State Route seventy eight,
Triple Nickel.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
I got it all. It's going to be a man.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
I don't know what your your path is tomorrow, but man,
it's going to be beautiful.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Path is to Tusk tomorrow, so there won't be We
got too much to do tomorrow, so no ride tomorrow,
but a lot of bikes out.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Today on the way up.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Does years have a radio?

Speaker 5 (20:40):
It does not.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
This is my first one with a radio, the one
I have now.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
So I have bluetooth through the helmets. Okay, so I
can turn my iPhone on and listen to Serrus.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Okay, so you do.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
You'll do that when you're running, Okay, because I I
and now I don't.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
They didn't get that.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
This is not They have not figured this out because
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Mine like I'll turn
I'll fire it up, and I'm like, why is it
showing like it's working? And then I'm I'm like, does
somebody push mute? Because the volume like it looks like
I'm turning it up and there's nothing. So I have
to take this. There's a fuse that's under kind of

(21:19):
under the seat on the side, and I have to
take this fuse out whenever that happens, and then wait
for a few minutes and then put the fuse back in.
I'm like, it reminds me of Married with Children when
they used to do Assume Fox fewing positions like and
they you know, were trying to get Fox to come in.
That was like the joke because they were one of
the newer shows on Fox, and it was like hard

(21:41):
to come in by, like with the Rabbit Ears.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
That's what I feel like I'm doing.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Like Al Bundy, I'm like, assume Fox and I have
to like pull that and then I'm waiting and I
put it back in and then boop, it starts working again.
I'm like, Harley needs to get this figured out.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
What's going on with this?

Speaker 5 (21:56):
You should take that back up to the I just
look at real quick.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Yeah, it's a street glide. I mean, you know, it's
a good picture. It's beautiful. I mean, it's it's real good.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yeah, it's a it's a good one. But I'm like,
this is the first one I ever had with a radio.
I'm like, and I made a mistake. I should have
never because it drives me nuts. I don't necessarily have
to have that, but since it's on there, it's gotta
work where it drives me. I feel like I'm driving
a piece of junk.

Speaker 5 (22:22):
Otherwise you didn't you didn't get a fourth Pento.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
It's a Harley Davids exactly.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
I'm like, can you get the radio thing figured out?
It seems like the easiest of things. You get in
the car and just turn it on. Why is it
so different on the mortar?

Speaker 4 (22:36):
Now we know the guy, so we got access to
get it fixed.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Help.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Well, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Know you're probably listening show. So yesterday Troy roy Hall was.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
In with me.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
He was in the studio Buckeye Great Roy Hall, part
of our best Buck Eye coverage, and he's talking about
because you know, the draft is Thursday, so he's talking
about you know, I said, take me through.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
You know these kids we got and we you know
Mecca Buka.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
We started talking about all the Buckeyes who are probably
gonna end up Will Howard, all these guys when Shawn
Judkins and Trevion.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
Henderson, Will Howard will make it.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Well, they're predicting like, you know, fourth fifth round for him,
but you never know, right, But he was Roy was
talking about how he likes because he you know, he
knows I did rock radio for a while. So he
starts talking about some of the stuff that he works
out to, and he's like Rage against the Machine and

(23:58):
he has like metallic uh and uh so what was
some of the Zach Attack what like he he was
he was naming some of these bands. Yeah, System of
a Down, Nirvana, like all the thanks Man, And he
sends me today Corn.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
It was.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
It's literally the whole song. He just sends it to
me on uh. Which one was oh coming undone from
Corn and that's like one of his workout songs or whatever.
And so I sat back down with the sickness from Disturbed.
He's like, oh yeah, I got that one on there,
you know or whatever. But it was just I go,

(24:38):
you got any van Halen on there?

Speaker 3 (24:40):
It made me think.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Of it because just now van Halen's playing or whatever,
and I know you're a rocker too.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
He used to listen to me when a blitz Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Yeah, So that was like it was just one of
those things that I thought was cool something else about him.
But then anyway, so with the draft coming up on Thursday,
we were talking about these kids and what they're going through,
and he's like, I got dropped.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
At one hundred and sixty ninth.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
He goes, you know, by the Colts and he talked
about you know, going and that was you know when
Peyton Manning was there, and I mean.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
It was Anthony Gondals was there then too.

Speaker 3 (25:13):
It was Hey and Roy.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
Were both on the Yeah teams.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Yeah, and then the seven where they got beat by
Florida in the National Championship.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
I remember that.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
It was the opening touchdown Ted Gen Junior takes it
back and then ends up getting hurt during the celebration,
and then it was we proceeded to get routed after
that by Urban Meyer in the Gators.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
I was Tim Tebow that whole thing, that whole time.
But it was really cool having him in here yesterday.
I know you I bet it was.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Yeah, but we talked about Urban and stuff.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
What's he do now?

Speaker 2 (25:45):
He's motivational, he's you know, uh, motivational speaker, and he
does he he's uh, it's crazy when you talk to him,
you get it, you know what I mean when you
but he's he's involved in so many different things really,
I mean, it's it's It's almost dizzying how many things
he has gone. He is a hustler man, that guy,

(26:06):
he's got so much stuff going good him and he's
he's he's so sound. He looks like he could still play.
I mean he looks like he could suit up and
go right. And I'm not kidding. The guy's a beast.
He is a beast. I was like like, the like,
watch not participate, but watch him work out.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Not where he's like, hey jump in here.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
You're like, no, no, please, yeah, mercing right exactly. Harvard
University suing the Trump administration to stop funding freeze. They
have a lawsuit claiming that it's freezing of federal grants
worth billions of dollars is unlawful.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
How is this unlawful?

Speaker 2 (26:44):
I mean what is and I know this is well,
I don't know how much of chatter is happening, you know,
in in your circles for this kind of stuff, because
it has almost become like white noise now, all of
the lawsuits.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
It is ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah, it's awful. Yeah, that's a great way to put it.
Great word, white noise. That's exactly what it is. Yeah,
in these colleges are and look I know, not every
just because there's a couple of bad apples. You can't
throw them all in the same bath, right, But when
you have a fifty three billion dollar endowment, shoe go

(27:26):
away like Harvard does.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Yeah, Harvard does.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
And what Terry, I mean, Yale is forty point seven
billion dollars in second place. I mean, it's crazy, and
they want federal dollars.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Two point two billion, I think was what I saw
earlier jump change. I mean, really, to them, it is
a lot of money, but when you're comparing it, it
isn't clearly in this situation. In response to the lawsuit,
the White House said, well, the gravy train of federal
assistance is coming to.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
An end.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
A day, man.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
This is some of the best stuff that they're doing
that they're looking at. I mean, I don't know, just
a lot of white noise.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
The President Alan M.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Garber announcing in a letter to the university community, which
said the two billion funding freeze would hamper critical disease research.
Of course it will. I guess the other fifty three
billion is that on top. You can't use that for
critical disease. It's only got to be see critical disease
only responds to government funding. I guess correct. It doesn't

(28:33):
respond to any other kind of funding. Look, I'm being
a wise ass on purpose because this is stupid.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
You know.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
All this is is let's continue to throw as many roadblocks,
and if we run out of road to throw the
blocks on, we'll just start stacking them up in front
of the Trump administration. That's what we are witnessing in
real time. As soon as he took and you know what,
God bless him forgetting most of the people already half
way in place before he even gets sworn in. I mean, remember,

(29:04):
you started getting a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (29:05):
In exactly, and you have to give a little bit
of cred to tune and how he operated that getting
those nominees, it was one of the fastest paced that's
ever happened before. Yeah, and those guys were going six
days a week to get that done.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
And it looks like he got and he got everybody
that he was trying. Cage is only want to pull
it out, right, I did it, Yeah, didn They go
on to say the consequences of the government's overreach will
be severe and long lasting. Studies on pediatric cancer Alzheimer's disease,
Parkinson's disease would be affected. This, of course, is what
the president of Harvard is writing this Garber. In recent weeks,

(29:45):
the federal government has launched a broad attack on the
critical funding partnerships that make this invaluable research possible. But
that's what they always focus on. It's it's against the kids.
So now they can go, well, the research for pediatric
cancer was slowed down or hampered by this whole situation.
So Trump doesn't care about solving cancer for kids. I mean,

(30:08):
that isn't nuts.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
That's what they're That's what is happening.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
And the thing that is so hard Troy is day
after day sometimes it's like clapping with one hand and
then go, why can't anybody hear me?

Speaker 3 (30:21):
You know, because you're only clapping with one hand.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
That's what it feels like sometimes when I'm on the
air and doing so much and trying to rail against
this stuff all day. Then you got the mainstream media
that runs all of this up the flagpole every day.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
It's just endless, NonStop, twenty four sit As soon as
you're drying at six o'clock, that's when they hit and
off they go.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
It's just like.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
It never stops what they're doing, and it's all so misleading.
They only give part truths to everything that they try
to run up the flagpole.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Now I turn it off.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
I just I was watching one of the local channels
here one night and it was completely false what they stated,
and I so bad one to call up and say
that is end correct, that's the wrong, completely incorrect.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
But I didn't the tax exemption status for Harvard and
its ability to enroll international students could also be under
thread good good it should be because that takes me too,
and we could go through these numbers on here, but
it's it's so boring, but there it is that you know,

(31:30):
I don't know that this. Are they going to get
any traction? Are they going to get anywhere? If they
try to get this, are they going to get They
can't really bring a federal court into this canning because
it's federal funding that you either qualify for or you don't.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Don't, and so depending on I mean, it's no.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
I'm no legal experts. I shouldn't be making legal decisions.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Here, but now you're right.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
And then the student visus too is kind of a
almost like a branch of this whole thing, and then
you saw I think, what are we up to twelve
or fifteen at OSU something like that. As far as
the student visas, because my wife says to me the
other night, She's.

Speaker 3 (32:08):
Like, is this true? Like what's why would he be?

Speaker 1 (32:11):
You know?

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Why are these And I was like, well, look, they're
not naming any of these people. Now there's one who's
trying to sue him. I don't know if that's a note.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Is that an OSU? Do you know Clark? Is that
a okay? And sorry to yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
But they're no, they're like specific students are trying to
sue and it's like, wait a minute, No, that's the
federal government inviting you here and letting you be here
on student visa. And then when you're going down with
the government, Well, how does that work? What so my
so Yeah, so Jenny says the government, Well, that's what
they're doing. It's it's they're out there. They're anti semi

(32:46):
I mean, they're out there, you know, it's proamas and
they're doing all this stuff and then they're going knock
it off or and then they go.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Why are they taking my visa?

Speaker 2 (32:54):
I have to go back now, Yeah, yes, you do.
You come here and behave You're not a citizen. Why
are you You don't get to do that. You don't
get to do that protest if you're going to, it's
biting the hand that feed you. And I'm anyway, they
didn't This was early on. But my wife goes, is
this like?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Is this real? Like their take? And I go, yeah,
see how they haven't named anybody? She goes, yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
I go, I'm not even connected to this. I don't
even know. But here's what I'm gonna guess.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
These people that have not.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Been named were probably front and center and causing all
kinds of problems with regard to protest, the peaceful protest
if you will. They're told go home, get out, do whatever,
and then you're gonna drag your feet, You're gonna go
I have the right to meet here, and you're here
on a student visa.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
So that's my guess. Are those people were connected to be?

Speaker 2 (33:44):
And I said, I don't know for sure, but I'm
guessing that's probably what it is. And guess what you
were invited to be. You're here because the government allows
you to be. You're not a citizen. You're on a visa,
a student visa, so you can't. You've got to abide
by our rules. I don't understand why people are like,
I don't have to do that.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
Why you know?

Speaker 3 (34:05):
I don't know you guys have to be I can't.
I don't even know how you do what you do.
I'm telling you, Troy, I'm serious.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Malazer show every month or so? It is it therapeutic
for you coming in here?

Speaker 5 (34:15):
Maybe I love coming in some Why it is?

Speaker 3 (34:18):
I don't know how you do it. I'm serious like that.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
What's the big Lebowski?

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (34:23):
One of the great lines when anybody said, this ain't
nam We've got rules here.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
That's it. I don't understand how this is.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Uh, it's this big mystery to a lot of people,
especially now with what's going on with Senator Van Holland
and him just coming back for all.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I was telling, uh, did you send me the House
members weren't over yesterday?

Speaker 5 (34:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Four more?

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Yeah? What is happening? Yeah? I'm sure you Those are
your colleagues there, I mean.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
The hold on here, Matt.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
No colleagues in that they're in the House of Representatives.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
That's in.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
That's the extent of it. Oh.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
I don't mean they're like, yeah, your buddy workmates.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
That you're having lunch with well or down to gym
that night, and.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
They said they're not. I saw the one, Go what
was it?

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (35:08):
I did screenshot because I was like looking at stuff
last night. Go oh, let me screenshot some of this
stuff so I can. Maxine dexter Uh says she will
not leave l Salvador until he returns to the United States.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
I'm like, she's never coming back.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
That means we got two.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
We got to majority.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Can we get some Republicans? What district are they in?

Speaker 1 (35:32):
What state?

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Let's get some people. Let's get some I only one
I knew of that. I heard his name, and he's
he's the young crop is it? No, that's the that's
the after him. I can't remember what that. There's a
young guy down from Florida.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
He's really young. He's like one of these the youngest
memory of Congress. Now that's her.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
That's her.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Yeah, you've never seen him. I mean her running around there?

Speaker 3 (36:00):
She she that's her.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
That's her. Pronouns he she No. I don't know, but
I saw that, and I was like, I I these people,
it would be it seems like it would be easy.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
And I was telling Jordan this.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
I was telling Jim on Monday that, you know, Senator
Halla van Holland, I don't know what he what his
aspirations are past being a senator, but all of those
pictures are going to come back to haunt him, Yes,
because they're going to be used in ads for people
that are going to be running against him and going.
You got a guy who's supporting a wife beater, a
MS thirteen suspected MS third well, an MS thirteen gang member,

(36:39):
you know, suspected in Tennessee. When he pulled over, he
had tracking human trafficking. There was somebody on the terror
watch list supposedly in that car, and they can verify
all of that stuff, but it's like you just you're
the poster child now for this? Is this the hill
you want to die on? Given what you just witnessed
in November? Do they think that was a fluke?

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yeah, that's that's what you go back to, think what
happened in November and this is the one they're going
to jump on and have this be their shining, shining night.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Hey, let's grab from the Legacy Retirement Group dot com
phone lines.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
April is here in Orient, April, Welcome to the show.

Speaker 7 (37:14):
Hi, thanks for taking my call. Sure, I was just wondering,
since President Trump went ahead and issued an executive order
making English and the national language, which was long overdue,
is Congress only ever going to get around to codifying it?
It would save employers a ton of money no longer
being required. Not all employers are, but a large number

(37:35):
of employers required to provide interpretation services documents in multiple languages.
Are we ever going to get it to where Congress
makes National English our national language and make it law.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
Yes, Bernie Marine introduced a piece of legislation to make
English the National language I think a month ago to
codify executive order? So yes, do you think though? And
I'm sure April you probably you'd be echoing this. You
were probably gonna say, do you think it actually gets through?

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Troy? Is okay?

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Because I know we have a majority now and both
slim but we have majority in both houses, so it's
will it actually you think get through?

Speaker 4 (38:13):
It has great potential, great potential? Okay, Yeah, any other questions, April?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
I mean that that that sounds good to me, it
sounds positive if you will, hopefully we can get through all.
Here's a thing too, and April you probably, I'm guessing
you probably feel the same way I do, because look,
we hear about all these you know, these things that
they're finding, and you know, we got some evidence for
this and that and this and that and this particular thing.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
You just go, man, they got a hurry.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
But the thing is, you got to remember Trump's only
been there a couple of months, so we got time.
We got time, But it feels like it's like we
don't have time.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
We gotta go, right, you know, that's the way it feels, right.

Speaker 7 (38:54):
And you know it's been going on for so long.
I don't know if you remember way back when when
the city of Columbus got sued because there was an
apart a complex off of West broad that caught on
fire and several ill legal immigrants were living in one
apartment and nine to one one did not have a
Spanish speaking operator. The family from Mexico of all those
people that died sued the city of Columbus and one, oh, man, I.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Don't remember that, but color me not surprised. It's that
is crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, yeah, April, thanks, Hey April.

Speaker 5 (39:25):
We'll keep you posted on that.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 1 (39:27):

and he sees you and he just goes like, that
gives you the thumbs.

Speaker 5 (40:45):

said we.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
Won didn't WE i, said we, did Mister.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
President we.
