Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a Mark Bleazer show. There's a lot of good
(00:07):
stuff going on in Ohio sports right now. The Cincinnati
Reads they're on a tear. Last night they ended up winning.
It was eight to four final as they began a
three game set with the Seattle Mariners, so eight to four,
and tonight they'll go at it again at six forty.
(00:30):
And then on Thursday it is a Businessman Special and Chuck,
welcome back, by the way, greetings, Stone says to me
last night, dead faced, stone, cold serious. I said, hey, buddy,
the Reds one eight to four, and I said, then
they play again tomorrow night being tonight, and I said,
(00:52):
and then on Thursday the Businessman Special at twelve forty.
He goes, I should skip school, you should skip work,
and we should go down because it looks like the
weather is going to be pretty nice on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Wow, he's practicing early in't he can.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Go to Great America Ballpark. I said, well, first of all,
I don't know that your mom would be all right
with you missing skew.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
She doesn't have to no, come on, man.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
And then I said, I can't, buddy, but that's a
great plan. We'll do that at some point we'll go down.
Those businessman specials are nice because there's not a ton
of people in the ballpark, and it's you know, it's
pretty nice.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
All ambusinessmen are out somewhere to ambusmus.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's right, mister Carson, that is correct.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I did not know that.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, so Jacket's still alive in Philadelphia. Last night it's
another shutout pitched by Jack Greaves, and our our illustrious
radio announcer Bob mcgallaghan had this to say.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Wheel, He did not say that again.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
You just did all day. kJ was stud like last night. Man,
I'm telling you what the Jackets are doing. They didn't
let the flyers breathe. It was so fun to watch
this man, Jet Greaves, with a name like that, He's
destined for greatness. He has to be.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Do you remember about three weeks ago when you and
I were speaking of this, and I was talking about
the fact that sometimes attitude has more to do with
anything than ability. When you get on that ice and
you're either over confident, get your butt kicked, or you
go out there decided I'm gonna hit it with everything
I got, even if the other team is superior in record,
(02:41):
in size, in speed, and everything else. Attitude, man, that's life,
whether it's sports or anything else. Attitude changes everything. And
the Blue Jackets have got that attitude right now. God
bless the man because they're making things exciting.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
The only thing that I pray for is that they're
able to cap it off tomorrow. It's the final game
of the season and of course final home game at
Nature Midarina. The Islanders are coming to town. They would
just love to play spoiler because they're out of it.
So what we need to happen tonight is Montreal has
the Carolina Hurricanes on their ice, and Montreal has to
(03:17):
lose in regulation. Right, can't be overtime. They can't even
go to ot and lose. It'd be nice if they
did because ultimately watching them, but it wouldn't help the
Jackets if they lost in ot. But they have to
lose in regulation tonight.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
After the black Hawks win the other night, anything's possible.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Man, especially when they were down to nothing. Yeah, I mean,
it's like unbelievable. And then they get to ot and
I thought it was over because I had sent mcgellighan
a because I was trying to figure it out. And
finally on socials, it started to come out that it
didn't matter that they went to ot as far as
you know the Canadians, the habs as they call him,
(04:01):
and so obviously they ended up losing in a shootout.
It is like I'm telling you, if, if, if we
get into the playoffs and further, can you argue that
Johnny Gudreau has something to do with this? I mean
it's you talk about Goodreau, you talk about destiny, and
all of this is undermine falls apart, whatever you want
(04:23):
to say. If you know tonight Montreal wins, then it's
all like wait, but we I was talking with Miga
McCoy about this earlier, who's a diehard Jackets fan as well,
and they had us in the bottom five teams this year,
starting out after Goodrou passed, they had us in the
bottom five. Dude Everson coming in coach Everson, who has
(04:46):
been unbelievable and his staff, and then what the Jackets
have been able to pull off this year. I mean,
think about how close if it does come down to tonight,
this was an unbelievable season for the Jackets. And I
know some some Jackets are going look, since two thousand
and I've been bad blood but you know, blabbing my
gums and they're talking about themselves as being a third person.
(05:08):
But you and some people go, there's no moral victory room. Real,
yes there is in a situation like this, knowing most
of them, we'll be back next year. We're going to
see some really fantastic things. How could you argue from
the Jacket.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Especially Elvis pretty much counted out at the beginning of
the season. You were nothing as you were you were,
That's my point. Stuff on the bottom of the shoe
after walking through the pasture. You were nothing, and look
where you are now, Yeah you were. You were bottom five.
That's where they had the Jackets.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
And right now, if they go all the way in
Montreal wins tonight, it will have taken eighty one games
to eliminate the Jackets from playoffs, which is unbelievable. Forget
about the conversation, and then you look at what they've
done these last few games as well to get to
where and if they do get into playoffs, and I
confirmed it, this is never I think gets ten points
(06:00):
back something like that. It's never happened in NHL history
that a team to at the end like this comes
back from ten points like this and ends up getting in.
It's never happened something a lot, and I may have
some of those, some parts of it, but this is
going to be historic.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Is it scary that I'm starting to understand this stuff?
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Not at all? First of all, you're a sports guy.
You're a Bengals guy, your Reds guy. You're a sports guy.
So no, I'm not surprised. And you're smart, so YEA known't.
I don't doubt it at all. I'm still learning a
lot about the game.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Well, you talk about this the first time this has
ever happened. If they were to be able to do this, Yeah,
to come back, remember Ryan day at the White House
the other day. We got here by beating, by beating,
by beating, and by beating, and that has never happened before.
The cosmos is right for Coumbus right now.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
It's crazy. You're right, man, it is. It's a head scratcher.
But I'm not trying to figure it out. Just go
with it, right, Just go with it, enjoy the ride.
Just go with it. So yeah, and as far as
especially if Montreal loses tonight, you could probably if you're
somebody that has tickets for that game, tomorrow at Nationwide Arena.
(07:15):
If you're not crazy about going, because you're going to
be dealing with a lot of people. There are just
a few tickets for that game tomorrow. You probably could
get big money. You can pay for the summer vacation. Yeah, yeah,
you can get pretty big money. I think, no question
for that game tomorrow. I'm not going. I don't. I
(07:35):
don't have tickets as of right now. But boy, what
I love.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
There's the little there's a little what's that word, subliminal,
subliminal plea going out right there.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
If you don't, if you're not going, you get tickets.
My name's Blazer. You can reach me a twenty three
twenty three We fith Avenue. I'll beat the guy out
in the parking lot goal and we'll skate for food.
I'm wearing a blue jacket jersey, and I got a
great settle legs.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
With one of the signs going, hey need two tickets
like this. You know you can see this guy.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Oh, I saw a guy. I gotta tell you about
this guy. I saw the on Bethel Road, guy out
standing on Bethel Road at three point fifteen, and he
had a sign who I'm getting off? And I usually
don't even bother to pay attention. I'm so sick of people
in signs. But he goes need nothing just saying Hi.
I'm like, dude, that's cool. Sign. Ever, I couldn't believe it. It
just made me happy to see that.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
I've seen not gonna lie, I'm not homeless. I just
need beer money. I've seen that. I haven't actually witnessed that,
but I've seen that online.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
My favorite win so far in the past, i'd say
year has been weed as legal. Now help a brother out.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
That's funny too, man. I know, so this is probably
right up your alley. But you know, Wink Martindale passing
the great Wink Martin Dale ninety one years of age
ninety one years young. As I start reading about his
body of work slash life, it's fascinating.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
It was one of us in the beginning, man, That's
what he Many of those guys, though, the legends really were.
They were all disc jockeys at radio stations and their
youth before they got into it.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Winston Conrad Martindale born December fourth, nineteen thirty three and Jackson, Tennessee.
He loved radio since childhood. Get this at age six
would read aloud the contents of advertisements in Life magazine.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Did you do it?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I did. I played DJ from a long time ago
when I was younger, so, but it was more music.
It wasn't like, you know, the guy with his hand
by his ear guard. It was me and uh, you know,
I don't know sos pads, they'll clean everything you got.
You know. I wasn't that kid.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
That was me.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I was a little fat Gary Owen's That's what I
would do. I'd stand in the and Mom's going to
the refrigerator. Now what's coming out? Yeah, I would like, yeah,
eight nine years old man, and I was. I was
doing the Gary Owens thing with the hand up to
the and everything.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Now. I did mimic a lot of stuff from early on,
and one of them was Red Fox on Sanford and Son.
I mean I did mimic that stuff. You know, Esther,
you could stick your face your best.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Let's let me hear your best, Samford go ahead.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Well it was it was you know, it wasn't I
would just when I was younger. It was more the
cadence than the actual sound of Red Fox doing the
you know, just kind of regurgitating his lines and stuff.
But that kind of stuff. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
For the earliest only thing I could do from him
was the one like you.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Gonna get five cross your lip?
Speaker 2 (10:34):
That was it. Yeah, and it took me forever to
be able to actually speak sentences. Occasionally you can do that,
you get a word or a phrase that somebody says,
but you can't do if you had to stand there
and actually speak like them, you can't do it.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
He was in his fifties too, I believe, and was
playing saying sixty five and they made him, you know,
look older and all that. Anyway, So back to Wink.
He began his career dis jockey age seventeen w p
l I in his hometown on earning twenty five dollars
a week. Wow, I heart.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Owned stations back then too.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yes, it's a similar pains.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Yeah, what's twenty seven to start now?
Speaker 1 (11:13):
He was in studio, although not working on air, the
night when first Presley record That's All Right was played
on HBQ.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
That's me.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Oh, I saw the moment. Yeah, I remember that song.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Wow, July eighth, nineteen fifty four. So he approached fellow
DJ Dewey Phillips. This is kind of an interesting story.
Who had given Presley an early break playing the song,
and he asked him in Presley to do a joint interview.
So Martindale's TV show Top Ten Dance Party was nineteen
fifty six, and by then Presley had become a major star.
(11:49):
Agreed to the appearance, and then Martindale and Presley stayed
in touch over the years, which I thought was pretty cool.
He did a trans atlantic telephone interview at Presley, who
was in the army in German. That was nineteen fifty nine,
when all of that was going on about the great
Wink Martindale. Did you read, by chance, his memoir Winking
(12:10):
at Life? I did not, yea. He wrote it twenty
five years ago, in two thousand. He just said, from
the day it hit the air, gambit spelled winner. It
taught me a basic tenet of any truly successful game
show kiss, which is keep it simple. Yes, And you
know MERV Griffin was that kind of a He followed
that pattern as well and had what all those great.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
MERV and MERV was such a force behind so many
of those game shows too. I mean we're still watching
the Meal of Fortune and Jeopardy today. Those are those
are MERV Griffin things. And you know Tom Kennedy, do
you remember him? He was he did name that tune.
But we had him, We had Allan Ludden, who was
Betty White's husband, who was doing pass Word at the time.
(12:53):
A lot of these and here we are, forty to
fifty years later remembering game show hosts. That's how iconic
they were. Who's doing game shows now? Okay, Steve Harley.
Harvey's on Family Feud and every damn thing else he
can get into. And Ryan Seacrest is on Wheel Fortune
and every damn thing else he can get into. Aside
(13:14):
from those two fifty years from now, what game show
host are people going to talk about? Yeah, these guys
actually became stars doing game shows. That's pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
So Gambit was beating the competition on NBC at ABC
for over two years. This is Wink talking about this.
But then a new show debuted in nineteen seventy five
on NBC called Wheel of Fortune, and then he goes
By December seventy six, Gambit was off the air. Wheel
of Fortune became an institution. Of course, is still going.
He talks about. Wink talked about bouncing back in nineteen
(13:48):
seventy eight with tic tac dough and then he goes,
you know, overnight, I had gone from the outhouse to
the penthouse.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I love it, man, what a great body of work,
slash life.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
And to go through the world with the name Wink,
I mean so cool. It's just a stupid cool name. Yeah, blazer, Yeah,
I like that. They you know, I don't have that
part highlighted in this. This was like a This is
like a four page article that I.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Was looking at.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
That's how you know you lived well.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
But yeah, but they talked about how the Wink name
came about. But it was a nickname because obviously his
real name I said earlier, which Windsor?
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Was it not Windsor but Winston Winston.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Conrad Martindale born in nineteen thirty three, December fourth.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
Sounds like somebody should be signing checks Winston Conrad Martindale.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
He probably was.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
The yacht. Oh, by the way, Wendy's we talked about
Dave Thomas and Augusta the other I don't know who
handles social media for Wendy's, but they are monsters. Katy Perry,
did you see this they put They put a picture
up there after this space flights and Katie Perry's back
from space and whoever handles social media for Windy's got
on their Twitter account. Uh can we center back?
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Oh my gosh, oh throwing shade, oh my sports and
the Mark Blazer Show on six' TEN wtv today would
be perfect If, marshall you could turn off the fan.
Please WE i just don't want any wind. Outside it
(15:27):
would be nice if, it because the wind would kick.
Up i'm, LIKE i have no, Hair. Marshall SO i was.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Like and he's still blowing the wind with so windy.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Then there's nothing to mess so it's.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Fine, Yeah but my point is they don't have a you,
know all the heat escapes to your. Head oh, sure
someone talk like he's got big thick hair like you, Do.
Marshall but us people over, here you, know we. Don't we,
don't we don't have. Anything so then the.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
Wind but the amount of money you save on not
having to put this much product in it.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Is THAT i spend a ton On Scalp. Shine you
could only get that it selects carryouts on The West.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Side made By Turtle. Weast yes it.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Is it's got a little turtle on the.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Label, well if the if the sun hits him just
right here in the. Studio i'm. Talking I'M i, Mean
I'm i'm cebee. WONDER i, Mean i'm blind by the.
LIGHT i wish that could be as cool As Telly savalis.
Was he's like the coolest bald man of my. Youth
and mister clean for that, baby you. Know, Yeah, Wow.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
I'm sad THAT i know those references because it means
that we're of an.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Age, yes you, know we were talking a little bit
ago About Wink martindale passing away and the weatherman thing
beginning careers is weathermen and so. Forth one of your
uh uh Say jack was a weather. Guy Patsy jack
did whether it was It iowa or it.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Thinks it was something like. That, Yeah midwest, summer.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
We had a local guy here on another station who did.
Weather he before everybody was a, meteorologist it's weather. Man
but he actually started doing a like a sockhop show
On saturday nights and became a, big well very weather
guy here In.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Columbus Don webster In cleveland was the same. Way don
was hosting like the local version Of American, bandstand and
you know, what and next thing you, know he's Doing
weather on the, six, ten six and eleven o'clock.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
News, marshall what what does not surprise me about that
is you, guys you are the best. Riffers and that's
with f riffers because for obvious reasons and point, being
you guys can take you can have a conversation AND
i you know some this is not taken away from
(17:39):
because you obviously know more THAN i. Do as far as,
people you, know akers will come over here sometimes, sometimes
but if you watch, them if you watch them riff
some of, them you, go please stop. Riffing just keep
reading the. TELEPROMPO i know what's gonna come out of his. Mouth,
yeah But i'm not saying it's people That marshall works.
(18:00):
With i'm just saying over, time but it seems Like weather,
people you guys buy and, large are able to have
a conversation without like your head exploding and you're funny
toot alone.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
TONIGHT i was a little a little amused the other
day because somebody walked into the studio having just recorded
a segment and they were, like you, KNOW i was
trying TO i was trying to actually talk about stuff
and point they were pointing at A tv and you
know it's it's it's it's called a storytelling. You it's
the big monitor where you can press things and stuff
moves around on the. Screen oh, AGAIN i was trying
(18:32):
to trying to talk and press buttons and it was
just this is really.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Hard i'm, like welcome to my. World you're laughing right,
inside maybe even on the, outside going please get out
of my way and stop talking like.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
Form soul sentences while someone's talking in your ear and
pushing buttons and pointing at things that don't.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Exist, yeah talk to. Me that Is that is a, Talent.
Marshal that is a, talent no. Question. Man. Ah it
is gonna be chilly.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
Tonight we have some frosts a lot of the area expected.
TONIGHT a frost advisory covers pretty much every place FROM
i seventy and. South so we're looking at temperatures falling
down to the mid to lower. Thirties and we've got
just enough, moisture some clear, sky not much of a,
breeze so all of the ingredients come together for some.
(19:18):
Frost you may have to do a little scraping first
thing in the. Morning in. Town we're aiming for thirty
four outside of the outer. Belt you're likely thirty to thirty,
two so it is going to be a chilly night.
Tonight then our warm up Begins, thursday sunshine with a
hot in near sixty, five then seventy, nine rounding up
almost eighty On. Friday so your Good friday is dry
(19:40):
for most of the, day But friday night Into, saturday
showers and thunderstorms are on the.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Way all, Right, marshall thank you very. Much fifty. FOUR
i just got to text Some Kurt. Ludlow he's asking
for your. Address is that okay IF i give it to. Him,
oh you can give him my. Address bring it, On,
kurt bring it. On have you seen? Him have you seen?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Him?
Speaker 1 (20:00):
RUN i love, you, buddy but, UH i JUST i don't.
KNOW i laugh in the morning seeing that when he's
uh he's standing off to the side and there's a.
Hole i'm, like.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
What what?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
What and AND i heard what you did? There zech an.
Talk that's. Funny uh, yeah bladed by.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
The, lie wrapped up what what's? What wrapped up hot
like a. Douche people have been mispronouncing that phrase for
a long.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Time wrapped up like a. Douche, yeah, yeah this is
something THAT i ACTUALLY i THINK i would be interested
in doing. This This Nancy, cartwright you, know The Bart simpson,
voice and, Uh Nancy, Cartwright she's going to start a
video podcast about The. Simpsons and just that, ALONE i, go,
(20:57):
oh is this? Just, Hey i'm the voice of.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Barn, no does the cow have any more? Milk for goodness?
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Sake, well WHAT i think is gonna be cool is
they're they're, like they're talking about four decades of behind
the scenes, content frequent looks at the predictions from the.
Series so what it is is it's going to kind
of focus on some of that kind of tertiary stuff
that seems for, me seems kind of interesting with This
The simpsons things that that that ship sailed long time.
(21:28):
Ago for, me even though they're in the are they
in their four hundred and twelfth season.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Forty wed?
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Now SO i don't know if you still watch, it
and no offense to anybody who still. Does it's just thirty,
Six but it's Just i'm, like, eh but that behind
the scenes STUFF i think would be it might be
kind of. COOL i would at least give it a
whirl one or two excuse, me and then you, know
(21:55):
it could Not.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Land that was never a Huge simpsons. FAN i was
more of A Family guy fan THAN i was A simpsons. Fan,
yeah and people will tell you That Family guy is
a direct ripoff Of The. Simpsons, HONESTLY i don't see.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
IT i really. Don't it's so it's The. Simpsons is
The simpsons a ripoff of something before? It, well of,
course and then was that a? Ripoff, yes because the
people who are behind creating these shows were influenced by
stuff that came before, Them so you're going to have
bits and pieces THE dna of the things. Before it
seems like we're aw but this is one that is.
(22:30):
Stuck and, look you, know everybody involved is, filthy freaking,
rich and thirty six seasons is nothing to sneeze, at
so good for. Them BUT i think this will be.
Interesting it might, not But i'm interested in seeing what
kind of behind the scenes stuff. Happens that that kind
of stuff is most times more fascinating than the show,
(22:53):
itself depending on what the show.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
ITSELF i wonder if they even see each, other what
technology the way it. IS i, mean you, know you
would think you don't even have to be in the
studios together, anymore And. Casey casey has to sit in
his living room and just he'd. Record they'd, Say, Okay,
casey we're going from this song to this. Song he,
said all, right coming up in a moment another top
ten head for blah blah, blah and they would take
(23:15):
it back to a studio and piece it all. Together
he never actually went in to the studio after his
first couple of years to do The American top. Forty
interesting technology is leaps ahead of wear boys back.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Then so see that kind of, stuff to me is
fascinating pop up. VIDEO i love.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
THAT i was a pop up video.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Addict do you know What i'll? DO i, Rolled so
we roll tape on the eighty stuff And jenny AND
i will watch it on Like saturday. Morning the house is,
quiet and We're saturday morning Or sunday, morning and we
start watching that, stuff And i'll see a video and
THEN i start googling finding out, like you, Know, bunty
what's her name? Something bunty Or bunty was her first
name was in The Aha take On me. Video so
(23:55):
THEN i start doing the lineage with her and figuring
out is she still? Alive what has she been? Doing
AND i see, all SO i do my own.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Pup i'm the same, way AND i watch like OLD
tv ME tv. Stuff i'm, like, oh she was beautiful
in nineteen fifty. Eight what's she looked? Like, Right i'll
turn my phone.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Off. YEAH i just love knowing where they, where you,
know where did an excess record? That like where did
they shoot that? Video and just all kinds of. That
that kind of stuff is really. Fascinating The Mark Blazer.
Show all, right here we go Don ross the Retirement
(24:37):
boston studio with. Us you're not on two wheels, today Little. Chili, no,
yeah you don't have all the whole get up. On
SO i should note you. Were that's not what you ride.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
In you're not a negative.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Ghost, yeah, YEAH i. Don't, UH i haven't been. Out
have you been on two wheels? Yet?
Speaker 4 (24:55):
No this YEAR i looked to play with the other
day And i'm, LIKE i don't think my battery tenders
working because it was kind of gol plunk clum. Cloom
oh What, god that Big wisconsin engine or whatever they call,
it and it's just so. Gorgeous it goes plump, plunk,
plunk AND i just didn't want to turn it over
AND i was doing, somehow SO i JUST i.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Left, YEAH i just left it. Alone chuck is possibly
in the market very. Soon got to get to that thirty.
Eight he wants a valkyrie though he's looking At did
you see the post On? Facebook he put, Up, uh, NO.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I saw that other.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
One, oh the one the gall with the enormous. Boobs, yes,
yeah And chuck just put why and then there ARE
i should have known it's then it's littered with. People why?
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Not, yeah she couldn't even ride on the back of a. Valkyrie.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
No, well if you want to do a wheelie to your, destination,
maybe so you want a, Valkyrie so we're, well what
you would do is.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Lean back and fall, asleep is what you? Do because good,
lord those are no, no, no, no, no, yeah well you're, right, no, yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
They gotta be a.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Brick they are right back the. Motorcycle, yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:01):

to a thirty eight inch, waist oh thirty ice, Here,
YEAH i am awakening one eightying myself to a thirty
eight inch, Waist and IF i can do, That i've
been wanting to bike for years and years and, years
And i'm old and cranky And i'm gonna do.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
It oh, good, yeah, yeah like, it just keep your
head on that.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Swivel although the big seat on the back of the
Gold wing does seem to appeal to The queen that
is a barc a, lounger no. Doubt, yeah SO i don't,
know she may she may shut down The valkyrie in
favor of a Gold.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Wing, well if you go on a long, ride you
better have a seat belt for that because you don't
want her drifting off and then it's falling off of.
It why you got me on, That like we've had that.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Discussion i'm, Like, jony you can't fall, off don't worry.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
You certainly you can't really arm. Rests, well The harley.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Doesn't but, yeah the the back seat of a Gold,
WING i, mean you can be buttoned up in, there
but you're not gonna fall off, because first of, all
part of her job is to be keeping the head
on a. Swivel you, know we both have a head
on a swivel because you, know there's other cars out
there that are driving like idiots and.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
And texting while they're. Driving, yeah, running.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Then there's a rabbit that can come out of, nowhere
because you, know we get outside the outer belt and
we and we ride up to you, know good Old Apple,
valley ride down to Southern ohio where it's just, Gorgeous
like we rode an election day down there.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
And it was just.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Beautiful but, yeah, no you're you got to keep your
head on a swivellw you are not falling.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Asleep so so, Yeah chuck wants to get A valkyrie
and if he gets a thirty eight waist and he's
also going On Blue origins next flight in. Space he
was talking about.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
IT i, THINK.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
I, mean If Gayl kinge, QUALIFIES i got to be
able to slip under there some.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Way why the long face, Anyway she's, like defend it
because people people are having a they're having a go
at him on social media and rightly so they're talking
about how you know all this, history this this inspiring young.
Women WHAT i don't. KNOW i don't understand that you're
(28:10):
the clean shrimped all Over.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
SHATNER i, mean if anybody who doesn't qualify to go
into space went into, space that should have gone into.
Space Captain kirk should have gone into. Space Katy perry And. Gail,
now plus it's this guy's, toy SO i, mean in all,
fairness you can take whoever he, wants, Right.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Yeah and it's what his, Wife Lauren sanchez is a. Girlfriend,
WELL i don't, know or is it his? GIRLFRIEND i was.
ASKING i don't.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
KNOW i think they're engaged after the AD's Eightieth Hells
so so.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
You, KNOW i Had Michael loftus was on me yesterday
and he, says like a million dollars to go on this.
Flight he didn't Charge. KATIE i can't imagine that this
particular one because they list all the people AND i
don't know who the other people other Than Katy, Perry
Gail king and Then Lauren Sam chaz and that's.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
It BUT i think they're talking when it becomes truly
commercialized and you want to get on a ride Like Cedar,
point it's probably gonna be a million.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
DOLLARS i, mean that's what this basically. Is it was
just short of eleven. Minutes and then did you see
when they were they were getting off of, it they
opened the door from the inside and then closed it. Again,
Wow and and then like somebody came over and like
opened it from the outside. NOW i don't know if
(29:31):
here's the, problem AISPHERE ai is the. Problem that's the.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Problem let me just break through The earth's atmosphere momentarily
go up and.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
It's not a big. Deal there won't be any shortage
of the line if people Want pam million bucks to
get hurled into.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
Space and then conspiracy theorists are saying that they're doubting,
that you, know some of this. Stuff the lift off looked.
FAKE i don't know at this, Point i'm just throwing
this out, there but they're saying that this whole thing
was one Big satanic, ritual And i'm, like where Did
(30:08):
satanic come? In i'm not. Sure Katy perry's kissing the.
GROUND i love the meme though that's out. Now the
guy and the gal who just got back that we're
in space for like supposed to go up not very,
long but ended up being there a long. Time it
has like. That it's the one like real smart ass
look the look that you're getting from those. Two And
(30:28):
Katy perry comes back. Down she's been in spaces less
than eleven because of the.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Ground they're looking at her, like, yeah shut, up you,
know and she roaring like a whatever that. SONG i
didn't watch any of. IT i, MEAN i have other
things to. Do i'm not bragging like, that but it's,
LIKE i just you, know MY tv wasn't on nine,
thirty OR i don't stream or.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Whatever SO i just GET i get so worked up
when the media it's just non stop with this. Shenanigans
i'm just, like we stop it, already knock it.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Off well they. Don't they want to cover other things
that are really.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Important well if it ain't, that it's you, know our
president orange man bad and he did this bad and
he did that?
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Bad and Why Katie perry and Not Elton. John he's rocket.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Man well he is a girl kind of, too because
it was all female kind of it was all. Female
he Qualifies he's close. Enough what.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
AM i?
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Right, LOOK i Like Elton. John i'm not taking a
shot at.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
Him that came thirty years.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Ago oh my, gosh, yeah all of. That, hey uh
did you see this opinion piece that was in the Dish?
Rag and how they they they put this in there?
Again chuck to your. Question it Was jonathan G gurian
g u R, i a n Of. Columbus he is
(31:57):
the one who wrote this it's an opinion piece on
that newspaper in ten years letters to the, editor but
it was here's what it's, Titled, huh how will Buck
eyes explain swallowing pride to visit misogynists At White? House
so this is getting a lot of blowback on. Socials
there are a lot of people, going you, know how
dare you shut? Up you know this was not this is,
(32:19):
well this is this is the Buck eyes going to
the highest you, know like it's The White, house and
it really think about just think about this for a.
Second how many of the players and coaching staff And
i'm not sure what the number is or the, answer
but how many of those players pulled the lever For Donald?
Trump do you think? Percentage?
Speaker 4 (32:42):
Percentage are you thinking north of? Fifty? No really not.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
EITHER i don't. Know because As i'm watching the reception
there and all of them standing there with the, president
one THING i noticed IS i did not see a
lot of gray, suits BUT i certainly saw a lot
of bright red. Ties AND i wondered if that was
some sort of communication The republican read we we can't
come out and say. It but there were a lot
of the guys who were wearing bright red, ties just
(33:08):
Like Donald trump was.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
Wearing interesting could be. INTERESTING i was at a big
The Big Ryan day Party saturday night at The. Woody
that was, Cool, yeah hodown and of course put the elephant,
on and all the players are there and they were
a great, time good. Fundraiser but The White, house you,
know that's. Interesting the vote A i wonder how many
did actually? Vote and be? Interesting you think you think
(33:30):
Lesson And.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
I'm Just i'm just posing the question simply to kind
of unbolster this type of an, article this, angle what
an unfortunate and short? Sight do you think the players
were forced to? Go AND i don't know the answer
could be, yes you just Saw. RYAN i wish you
were getting ready to see, him but you already saw to.
(33:51):
Go hey were they did they have to? Go because
think about, this if players really thought fill in the
blank about this, pressent could they have skipped it if
they really wanted? To and maybe they were, told, hey
you're going to.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
GO i think as tight as this team has proven they,
are and maybe a lot of them go and take
a knee before the, game which is, legitimate you, know
very VERY i like that they do, it AND i
think they're legit and they're being very. SERIOUS i think
some of them probably DECIDED i didn't want to, go
and the teammates, SAID i would appreciate if you go
(34:24):
as a team.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Member so it reads what an unfortunate and short sighted
choice that was by The national Championship buckeyes choosing to
visit The White house under the current. Climate what climate is?
That the one Where trump is Making america great? Again
is that the client or climate that you're talking. About
that followed on the heels of the world Champion dodgers
(34:45):
making the same visit one week, Earlier so they take
a quick shot at The dodgers as. Well how do
coaches and players explain to their wives and daughters explain
to their wives and daughters that they took this opportunity
to commemorate their championship while supporting the current occupant of
The White, house a confessed. Misogynist are they supporting him
(35:07):
by going to The White? HOUSE i, mean is that
an actual show of support because you went to The White?
House is? It why does everything have to be? Political,
yeah it is The White, house but it's a chance
for you to, go maybe a once in a lifetime
chance chances somebody who uh you, know for one of
these teams that would Get how do non white players
(35:30):
explain to those who stand up for racial equality that
they decided to swallow pride and principle in exchange for
notoriety with their perceived support of a known.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Racist this is the un. Saying but see that's the
magic word right.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
There.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Racist they keep throwing that up and show. Me Donald
trump has, elevated, exonerated motivated more non white people than
probably the last half dozen presidents before.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Him and.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
They keep throwing this up at the number of people
out there with black and brown skin who are all
over their social media raving about What Donald trump does
for the, communities for the, people their families and so.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Forth this is this.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Garbage it's a code word to get you fired, up
but it has no basis in.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Reality, well look look at what. ARTICLE i, mean look
where it appeared in The, disgrace Right. COLUMBUS i haven't read.
IT i haven't read it in.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Years so, well how long ago was it they moved To?
INDIANAPOLIS i think is that where six seven years? Ago says?
Speaker 2 (36:37):
They SO i checked out our letter writer here just
because that was curious and end. Up is he a real, Person,
yeah he's a real. Person he is a registered active
voter In Franklin. County he, is of course a Registered.
Democrat he's looks like sixty eight years of. AGE a
decent looking, house BUT i do not understand the market
value of it at, all according to What i'm finding online.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
Here it's WHAT i. Do, man this is don't mess with.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
ME i. Can i've got about been relatives and next
door neighbors if you'd like to speak to them To
he accepted the. Mission, So, OKAY a nice looking. House
i'm really. SERIOUS i mean, That i'm.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Very sull value sucks on, it as what you're.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Saying, Yeah i'm looking at the streetscape and. Everything it's
a nice. Neighborhood BECAUSE i.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Figure this guy's probably not listening to six.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Tens, WELL i don't care if he.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Is. Why, yeah he wrote a public letter to a.
Newspaper his name is published. There i'm not telling anything about,
it and it's not available to. Anybody i'm sure he's
getting texted my. Friends, hey you're on six.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Ten he's writing. Fiction, hey your fiction's on six.' ten,
your fiction don't weather sports And The Mark blazer show
on SIX.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Ten tv.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
Soon enough we'll be on two wheels hopefully, So well
i've seen a lot actually already on. Two Wheels Chief
meteorologists marshall McPeak. Joining us so, it's like what are
you going around a corner? Too fast what do? You
do no motorcycle because it's it's a little chilly. For
me i'm one. OF those i am not. A purit
well what's upon a TIME was i, would ride, you know.
(38:15):
Didn't matter but there's some people who will just ride no.
Matter What and i've been seeing two wheels for, you
know a, while now for the, last MONTH and i,
always think are?
Speaker 5 (38:25):
They crazy like so so freaking cold, like that, you
know especially today it got, good leathers is what's?
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Going, on yeah but you can only do. So MUCH
well i don't know if, You've, ridden marshall but you
can only do, so, much man before it. Will permeate
it will get you all the little places that, are
open and it'll, find them, you know and you'll, be,
like WELL was i thinking at least That's what. I'm,
doing anyway it's a.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Lot of things we just Learned About.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Mark blazer So actually Thursday and friday look look like
really good riding days because we should have plenty of
dry conditions and it's going to warm up.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
A Bunch so Thursday and friday look.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
Pretty good but tonight's gonna, be, chilly well chance for
frost across a lot of, the area thirty four for
the overnight low. In town when you're out in Rural,
central ohio, as usual you'll be a, little.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Colder so you're gonna be at or.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
Below Freezing but thursday afternoon we're back up to sixty
five degrees and in, the sunshine it's going to feel
even warmer, than that so that puts us back up
To Average. By friday now we're looking at climbing above,
average again with a high in the upper seventies and
a good chance for Some rain friday Night. Into saturday
we'll have Some storms saturday morning with a high year,
(39:33):
seventy TWO and i would probably recommend having a rain
plan For Your. Easter sunday if you've got outdoor activities
or outdoor, services planned you might want to have a
backup indoor.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Plan just so. You're, Prepared, okay marshall. Thank you it
is fifty four.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
RIGHT now i hope the easter buddy poops on. His
porch rain on, your, WEEKEND man, i know and we
get into that pattern where like every weekend it has
to rain until it. Just stops.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Why are you looking?
Speaker 5 (40:13):
At?
Speaker 2 (40:13):
ME nothing i just send the bunny to your, house.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
Too man oh as long as there's, just ONE because
i don't, want two because we know what happens when
there's two. Of them, OH yeah i don't know what none. Of,
that yeah we got a lot. Of. Them Uh, don
ross the retirement boss is in the studio with us
and uh eight Three Three, Don ROSS and i don't
know between, You know trump announcing what he announced and
(40:38):
then the marketing with and then he goes to pause,
on everything and every Was, Like donna and then now
it's like, up down, Up DOWN and i know this
is something that you. Told me at, least initially you
weren't having a lot of people, contact you a lot
of people that Work With Ross, wealth advisors and you, were, like,
well UH because i you know the WAY that i
(40:59):
work with, my people and so has? That changed are
so a lot of people are are realizing that now
it's just one of those things you got to. Stay,
with well.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
We're building, you know we build plans that are customized
to their. Individual NEEDS and I know i say that
a lot and people, are, like oh said that all.
The time well, It works and the key thing is.
IS understanding i don't want to give any advice, over
there but, you know using alternatives have an opportunity to
invest in these these financial instruments that can keep you
from participating in. The downside but, you know, the market
(41:30):
the stock market is one of the greatest wealth creation
tools known. To mandkind and it's not timing, the market
it's time in. The MARKET and i know these are
all old you know sayings if, you will but they're.
SO true, i MEAN if i look at the market
when IT when i entered this industry in nineteen, EIGHTY
eight i can't even imagine it the heights it's. That.
(41:51):
Today Okay so i'm always going to say it doesn't,
like uncertainty and we have a ton of uncertainty. Right
now SO and i think we were going to see a.
BOTTOM soon i just don't. Know when but our clients
have plans that, are built uh to to weather this
situation because we know they're going to come every. So,
often okay SO all i unders say, about that but
(42:16):
the key, is no.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
We did we did.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
Reach out daniel's the other advisor in, my office and,
you know two, weeks ago three, weeks ago we got
on the horn. REACHED out i don't want to be that,
guy LIKE oh i didn't hear from, my advisor and
uh so we're. Very proactive it's, you know, it's sure
it's not a guarantee that everything's, all right but everything's
going to be all right as long as you have
(42:39):
an advisor that understands. Your situation and there's a lot,
of people unfortunately are getting, mediocre advice not, Our clients i'm,
just saying or they are they can't reach. Their advisor
and here's what's going. To Happen and i'm not going to,
name names but in the large brokerage, House world. I'm
understanding and if it's not, happened already a lot of
(42:59):
advisors are going to be uh they're going to not
receive compensation for certain accounts that are under a certain amount,
of money like a. Million dollars that's going to change
a lot. Of, things okay so imagine you have an
advisor and and they're now not going to be compensated
for managing. Your PORTFOLIO so I think i think that's
going to change some some people and how they're getting.
(43:21):
Their advice, so wait they're not. Being compensated there's change.
GOING on i don't know, the details but they're they're certain.
Account values they're they're not going to pay, the advisor
and and that's that's a that's a. Big thing, you know,
well yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Is that a?
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Government mandated Like what i'm trying.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
TO understand i think it's the big firms, are deciding, you,
know hey we want to we want you managing, bigger
accounts so go after. Bigger accounts so We're not. We're
not oh they're doing that to.
Speaker 1 (43:52):
Their, advisors yes they're saying once if it's below a,
certain amount, like well you're not getting anything out. Of
managing i'm understanding that's sort of start. To happen isn't
that cutting off your nose despite? YOUR face, i mean
that's what it feels like, to me Just and i'm,
YOU know i have a. Small brain i've said it a,
million Times but i'm trying to understand that. It's weird it's.
It's profits. It's, profits, yeah yeah probably receive a call from, someone,
(44:16):
SAYING hey i represent this firm and you, you know
but you, KNOW what i like to try to pull name.
ANYBODY though i like to pull back the curtains on
what goes on in our industry AND uh i and
part of my BOOK that, I wrote i. Share facts,
you know don't pay attention to the man behind, the
curtain and there's things. That Happen like i'll put one
(44:36):
out there, right now, you know if you want to
and you're, not driving google the term. Revenue, sharing okay.
Just term just google that term and it should give
you some information about what revenue. SHARING is i won't,
say anymore but it's something, that HAPPENS and i don't
think IT'S a i don't think.
Speaker 4 (44:54):
It's fair and That's why i'm in an. Defended advisor
i'm not with one of the.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Big. Firms right so revenue Sharing is Google it google.
Revenue sharing it. Comes, up yeah eight Three Three don
ross eight THREE THREE D O N R O. S
s you can text. That number you can call so
on and so forth and set up a meeting with
The Great.
Speaker 4 (45:14):
Don ross, yeah yeah or get My Book First, retirement
ARMOR and i explain what armor is in the world of.
Retirement planning, so.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah in this, uncertain time then there's a lot of people,
going okay with the, market dipping it's time to bye,
bye bye, you know let's, Buy RIGHT so i don't
know a.
Speaker 4 (45:33):
Great opportunity but again it's it's its own, good stocks rebalance.
Or doors find rebalance and have a plan that. You
understand and you got an. Income plan, YOU know i
got a lot of people you're retiring and all of a, sudden,
like okay HOW do i take all this? Savings back
and HOW do i take income that lasts the rest of.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
My, life yeah it's a it's, a process and you
shouldn't be trying it on. Your, own yeah hope's not. A.
Strategy yeah, Uh oh i'm. In, trouble.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Well then, whiskey helps, All, right, right okay now maybe,
it's timing takes tests and.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
WHISKEY again i, Feel, Bad tom thanks for. COMING in i. Appreciate. It,
Man hey i'll see you in a week.
Speaker 4 (46:12):
Or sooner, All right i'm looking Forward, to okay.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Very good
