Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show. All right away we go, here we go. Thank
you for listening. Mark Blazer Chuck is off again today.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
So we have in the studio GOP strategist Bob Clegg
and also Don Ross, the retirement boss with Ross Well
advisors of course, and uh, gentlemen, welcome in. It is
absolutely perfect, So thank you for coming from outside to inside.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I know it was very hard for you.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
This wasn't the easiest thing, right.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I know you're like, did I agree to this today?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Really?

Speaker 1 (00:43):
You know what? I love it?

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yeah, especially that music crank's off at every on top
of the hour.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I also was surprised Don that you weren't on two
wheels today because of it being so perfect. But then
you were like, well, the bike's getting whatever. It's a shop,
it's getting spring eyes.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
You know, it's a motorcycle, and you know you have
to keep your head on a swivel, so you might
as well make sure the bike is tuned to the
tee so rear brakes, looves, oils, all that. And of
course you know I have this locomotive horn on there
needs reconnected.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Oh was it really not connected or did it just it.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Just came stop? Just connected over the winter. You know,
I know there must be these mice and this sucker
when you when you hear it, you're like, Okay, there's
a loud horn somewhere because people jump.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
So it's an aftermarket Oh oh yeah, yeah, you know
the Harley horns are like this thing is actually well.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I gotta be honest, So mine has And I was
talking to Balderson about this yesterday. This is the first
bike I ever had with a radio on it.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
And you saw it, Bob.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
When you saw it when you walked up, you were like,
is that your bike, Dona, And then he was like, no,
it's Blazers, and You're like, oh, and I like, it's
the first one that I've ever had with.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
A radio on it.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
The radio when you it's all the way up and
you're going down the road, I'm like, if I know
what songs started playing before I sped up, I can
kind of follow along.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Like headphones or anything. Speakers.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Speakers are great, yeah, just the open air speaking wow,
and you can still hear. You can kind of again
if you know what's playing. And then you kind of
know because there's a screen in front of you showing
a title anyway, and so where I was.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Going with all.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
This is the horn that I have on that is
it comes through loud. I mean when when the when
you're going, I think, I know, I think that's the
scorpions playing, you know what I'm driving.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
No one like you. Yeah, there's no I think.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And you hit that horn like I mean, it's really
and that's the stock horn. So to your point, it's
really loud. And uh, I make sure I'm I keep
my thumb.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
On that side because usually right there on the left
side by your knee. Mine's under the right back. You know,
I have a big baggery all the tour packing and
but I had of semi kind of wanted to come
over my lane on a highway one time and let
that thing go.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
That truck swerves like you know.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
He was like whoa, And you know, cause you gotta
not only to head in the school, we have distracted
drivers right oh yeah know. So it's it's a dangerous
and so you have to have lights.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
So is essential for a motorcycle pretty much.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Well that and with Harley's and stuff, if you get
the pipes modified or you get different pipes, you can
pull a clutch in and just crack that if you're
coming up next to a car, which I actually did.
I had a fat boy a while ago, and I
used I had some decent pipes on that and I
would do that when I would be coming up to
people in the lane next sound. I would just pull
the clutch in and be like just just so there,

(03:47):
and they like look around, like and you do that
just to get their attention, like I'm over here. Don't
run over me, please, because I don't think a lot
of people do it on purpose.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
But you hear motorcycle accidents now. Don't get me wrong.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
There's a bunch of idiot it's that ride too, that
do stupid stuff. But I think more times than not,
you get run over because people don't see you. It's
just one of those things. I don't think they do
it on purpose. They just you know, but when it
warms up, you guys start looking for motorsyc.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Even whether I'm riding you know, a loan or staggered.
You know, when I come to a red light, if
I'm behind a car, I'm gonna come all the way
to the end of the lane where if there's someone
behind me, they're not slowing down. I can pull up
next to the car in front of me. Wow, so
don't park the guy's bumper. Well, I've been riding so
seven years old. I've learned a lot and haven't gone
down yet.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Oh boy.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
But you know, there's the first time for everything. So
I'm extremely vigilant and you know a lot of that
was taught in the military. But you just have to
you know, you just have to be heading a swivel world.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Those are the two they say, the two types of riders,
those who have gone down, been down and ones who.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Are going down? Do they say those are the two types?
Now Jonny's at home going crap. Well, I mean, I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
It's if you don't ride it constantly, because clearly you
up your chances each time you climb onto it.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
So I was explaining it today.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I actually had lunch with Stasia by the way station
a ken I had lunch, heard it and we were
talking about it because she goes and I said, so,
here's this Imagine like a tank and you fill it
up with water. And I said, so each time I ride,
imagine that tank imaginary fills up and each time I ride,
and once I get to a few rides, I'll get
to the top and I'm like, okay, I'm good right now.

(05:25):
And then I don't ride for a while and it
kind of goes back down some and I ride and
it goes back up. That's my tank. And some people
can ride every day.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I can't. It's fatiguing to me. If depending on if
you're riding in.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
The city, you get because you're constantly you know, looking looking,
look at it's very it can be very stressful. But
then when you're out on the country roads and stuff
where it's beautiful, that's where it's really relaxing and all that.
But I say, the more you ride to the more
comfortable you get, and maybe your defenses kind of come down.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
And that's where something cat And I.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Gotta guess the weather plays a big part too, coming on.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I don't ride in the rain and stuff, but there
are people going. I wrote purist.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
I wrote it from Rolling Thunder one night, which is
a Memorial weekend po w MI I a movement. I
wrote home one day from that straight six and a
half hours. In the last two hours was at night
in the rain. Oh boy, Now I was single, so
it was. But I did the iron Butt ride one
thousand miles and twenty four hours.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
So I went to Upper Michigan and back and we
did one thousand and thirty miles right before my buddy deployed.
And you have to get you have to stop at
gas stations and get time stamps. And I did it
because he's like, hey, would you do this for him?

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Before I had there? I rack and I'm like sure,
And I got a pin for it.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
And a sore ass. Yeah. Those are the two things
you got out of that.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I could wake out. Yeah. We hammered up in northern Michigan,
which is beautiful course.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
So so you don't ride. No, I'm guessing bomb no, okay,
gon't okay. I have five kids. He couldn't do that, understand.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I mean, I had Stone asked me the other day
if he could ride, and I go, no, buddy, you
know I yeah, he's eleven. I go nah. And then
he's just kind of staring at me. And here's what
I said to him. I go, let's say you and
I are riding and we get in an accident and
I live and you die. Ooh, And I said, your mother.
First of all, I can't go on. Secondly, that's it
for me and your mother that's it for me and Grandpa.

(07:25):
I said, I can't, buddy, I'm sorry, And he goes,
what about in the neighborhood. I go, well, it's a
little more controlled there, a little slower, and I don't
you know it's easier for cars to see you in
a neighborhood if you're going twenty five and there's two
of you, one coming at you, and you know, I said,
maybe around the neighbor but I only if there was
an emergency and.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I had to take him and other than that, no
is the answer.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
I can't ride my daughter, like five six years old,
just up and down our very card street. Yeah, however,
hate to burst your bubble. Most accidents happened with the
two miles of a home. Well, I argue the highways
the safest place to ride if you're riding controlled and smart. Okay, yeah, lane, Yeah, Unfortunately,
most accents happen within two to three miles.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
And yeah, but thanks for versting that bubble.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
You got.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
You gotta be vigilant.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Hey, I did you see the new surveillance network? Did
you hear about this? Why the Columbus's new surveillance network?

Speaker 3 (08:20):
What are they doing?

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Public?

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Private, partnership embraces camera system. Now this is you know,
this is again their production. Oh gosh, right, that's got
to be good. Then, yes, the uh cheap. Bryant said,
Downtown's already among the safest neighborhoods in the city.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
And but they're going to add a hundred cameras.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Well, that tells me it's not the safest.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Well, so that's the first thing I thought too when
I saw it.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
I go, wait a minute, it's the safest of the safest,
among the safest, So I guess they're going to make
it safer by adding one hundred. What's interesting is it's
downtown and they're not talking about the University district. They're
not talking about Short North. We're talking about actually downtown,
about the east Side. No, they're talking about Downtown. So Downtown.

(09:12):
This is Ginter saying it's everyone's neighborhood. Downtown is everybody
has a role to play in keeping it safe and welcoming.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
And there are already one.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Hundred city owned and privately owned cameras in the network,
all monitoring outdoor public locations. The cameras don't record sound.
This is according to the Columbus Police and Downtown is
using a one time one point five million dollar grant
from the state's capital budget to install one hundred more

(09:43):
cameras by the end of this year.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
All right, So you're telling me that the mayor's doing
this and not thinking about developers from downtown or in
downtown at all. Well, can can we make that argument
that he's doing all this stuff for downtown and what
about the neighborhoods that are out there?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
And that's just it, And if they're in the Columbus area,
clearly they fall under his watch or on his watch,
if you will.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
I would think there are a lot of different parts
of the city of Columbus that need those cameras before downtown.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, no, yeah, no question about that. They don't, especially
if there's already one hundred there.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
But they don't cut large campaign contribution checks.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I guess not. There you go, I mean to do
with it.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
So they monitor the area within I six seventy to
the north, seventy one to the south and east, the
Norfolk Southern tracks between Downtown and Franklins and to the west. Now,
I know I'm going through these quickly, and you're going, wait,
what the cameras locations are being chosen in consultation with
the police to monitor areas where there are patterns of crime,
they go on to say, But then they go then

(11:00):
the question is posed to surveillance cameras reduced crime, and
according to Detroit, there's no statistically significant effects on disorder
or violent crime. But that's a US Department Justice study
found that it resulted in a decrease in property crime
at the businesses in this program. But then, like I said,

(11:23):
no statistically significant effects effects on disorder or violent crime.
So is it about the properties more than anything? Because
let's face it, you know on the weekends, a lot
of those places are they're not open. When we're talking
about downtown as far as the here's the kicker with it.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
And I saw this.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
And started laughing out loud. So people walking by are like,
this is a mad scientist in there.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
What is he doing?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
They said, the city's not trying to violate anybody's rights,
and Project Partner City Project Partner City Attorney Zach Klein's
office worked closely on privacy concerns. They're concerned about privacy
and they want to make sure that you understand it.
That's not what they're doing here. We're not here to
be a surveillance state, of course not. We don't have

(12:12):
the time, we don't have the resources, and that's illegal.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
That's an actual quote. I swear to you.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
We're not here to use these cameras in an on
lawful manner. Then they said the police are going to
use the camera network to keep protest crowds safe. And
I said to myself, I'm like, wait a minute, the
people protesting is what you're going to keep saying. You know,
typically I would say what about the people that are

(12:38):
just down down, like you know, in that area when
there are are protests? I mean, why would you word
it that way? It's bizarre to.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Me because look who's been protesting, you know.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Over the last bingo. The people they want to defend. Yeah,
it's mostly everything's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
It's like, well what about the stuff that they're lighting
on five and.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
And But but they're not gonna take They're not going
to use the cameras to catch, you know, the protesters
doing any damage. No, they're they're going to have them
for so that nobody can go up to a protester
and touch him or something.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Yeah, I think they need to bring water cannons back personally,
but I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Why they don't. Those are pretty effective. Oh my gosh, you're.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Basically they break up a crowd rule in.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Colombia, all these places where these guys are doing a
legal protesting and violin and harming property at four thousand PSI.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Works one standing waterboard is what it is.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Hey, you could you could hurt one of them, then.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Oh yeah, they might hurt their You know, we've changed
in the last five years on how we handle public
events and First Amendment activity. So we are one hundred
percent not trying to monitor who's coming to protest.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
That's not what we're doing with this. I keep laughing, going, Uh, if.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
You have to say that that's not where you doing
multiple times, then that's what you're doing. If you're trying
to say we're not doing that. Oh did I mention
that we're not doing that? Oh by the way, Uh,
just one more mention we're not doing that, Well, then
that's what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain. Yes,
so now there's gonna be a total of two hundred cameras.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
The in the downtown area based on this ridiculous. Look,
I'm all about Megan. It safer for everybody that's going
to be out there. It's just you wonder about the.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Motive in these situations. That's all sports and the Mark
Fleezer Show on six WTV.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Right GMP strategist Bob Clegin's studio, Don Ross, the retirement
boss with Ross Wild Advisors. Madam McCoy has now joined
the party and my god, So I think what we
can do is we can bring in Chief Meteorologist Marshall
McPeak and uh, Marshall, I hate to do this to you,
but we're getting ready to test drive Soldier Valley.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
It is U.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
See you didn't drop any of that off either, did you.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
No?

Speaker 1 (15:03):
But it's because Don Ross showed up with this bottle
and I'll bring it by next time. On the way.
How about that.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
This is a Lee Greenwood signature special, but it's Soldier
Valley whiskey.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
And so I like to always do that clicklokoklok by
the I just don't want to open. I think you're
gonna man, you know how much technique that take. But
that's filling it on your shirt.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
I'm telling you, I thought it was gonna like go
fly and everywhere.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Wait, okay, this is always a good one when first start.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Oh jeez, okay, Mark Blazer Foley artist.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
And is Margaritaville shirt. I love it, perfect shirt. Well,
it's eighty six proof front. Here style whiskey was created
with the inspiration of a of a time's gone by
and the gentleman Jeff Hadden who creates this, uh Midwestern
corn minimum three years in a barrel and nuts. I

(16:15):
think it's a wood fired cask. And here it is
a honey citrus, maple wood and subtle rice smell. And
he did it in honor of his great uncle, because
I try to bring in any military veteran related bourbons
who stormed the beaches of Normandy and fought in Korea
and Vietnam. And wow, it's in honor is a great

(16:37):
uncle and the maiden Nebraska.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
This is Colon Husker.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Soldier Valley Whiskey, the Lee Greenwood signature special God bless
the USA.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
We would say, gentlemen, here we go. Here's looking up
your address. So what chilled shut? I'm gonna take some
to uh you know what that is? That is light?
It's not that's not heavy.

Speaker 7 (17:07):
It's very tasty, Marshall.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It says on there too to be enjoyed chilled, and
it says or had with your favorite cola, which I.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Was like, a lot of folks love a Jack and coke.

Speaker 8 (17:20):
So yeah, it's if it's a substitute there, that's a
lot of folks are gonna love that.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah, I feel like this is a this is Soldier
and coke.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah there you go, yeah, yeah, well you know what,
I just thought about this too. You couldn't actually do that,
you're gonna go. I mean, if you were on the
air doing this with us, people would be right and
into your boss or Marshall was drinking on the air, And.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
You've clearly never watched the nine am news cap Phil.
Phil is guilty, guilty.

Speaker 8 (17:55):
So so someone someone who used to work here who
shown up in and I used to invite lots of
cocktail folks on the show and you know, just.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Just a sip. That was all just as far as
you know, and it's all good. It is all good.

Speaker 8 (18:13):
Like are you guys actually drinking that at nine o'clock
in the morning.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Like, when's a better time? Yeah, maybe we'll get started
earlier next started.

Speaker 8 (18:23):
So it's a beautiful night to have a cocktail out
on the patio, because it is so fantastic out there
right now. Beautiful sunshine, little bit of a breeze, mix
of sun and clouds, just fantastic overnight tonight down to
fifty five Thursday. If you have to do something outdoors,
do it earlier rather than later. Say, if you're ready
to mow, make sure you get it done before noon

(18:45):
because showers and thunderstorms are on the way for the
afternoon to high near eighty two rain on Friday seventy eight.
And for anybody running the half marathon Saturday morning, make
sure you're prepared to be rolling through some puddles. And
we may still have some scattered showers early Saturday morning.
The afternoon looks better though, with Heinier sixty five.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
All right, very good, marshall, thank you. It is eighty
right now.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
So Dubai debuting this is perfect the world's.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Most expensive cocktail. Ooh okay.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
So and when you hear Dubai the United Arab Emirates,
you know they don't do anything cheap. I mean, it's
it is so that place is like a screen saver.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
It'll be four figures. I'm sure out there.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
So there is it's hate Dubai. I think that's how
you see. What's that, Well, it's they have the reputation
that's an area of being one of the most elite
dining experiences in Dubai. And all right, they talk about
single order potatoes or caviar a running around fifty three bucks,
not a big deal. Large Japanese scallops go for eighty

(19:53):
four dollars apiece. For the large scallops, the Australian wag
U MB seven will cause you around one hundred and
fifty bucks. I think that's per ounce, by the way,
per ounce, so a three ounce would be what would
that be four to fifty Then dessert goes around fifty bucks. However,
the newest creation dubbed the world's most expensive cocktail at

(20:15):
a price point of forty one, one hundred and sixty dollars.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
It's it's served and sold to honor the two hundred
and sixtieth anniversary of fine glassware maker Bachara, and it's
served in two glasses that date back to nineteen thirty seven.
So there's a I'm going to screw this probably all
up as far as what goes into the glass. But
there it's paired with a vintage Patron tequila from a

(20:42):
barrel not available to the public and only for purchase
there in the hate in Dubai dashes of nineteen thirties
Angustura bitters and is that how you say that?

Speaker 1 (20:53):
I'm not sure how you say that? Bitter nice bitters
and then they.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
They are a delicate Keina Lillett from nineteen fifty and
according to this hotel, there are only about four known
bottles that still exist in the world. So when those
are gone, so will this be? But forty one thousand ones?

Speaker 4 (21:14):
They're money. You get the glass with it, I'm assuming.
I hope someboby who served it. I wonder if they're
going to do that. Actually, do too many interest in
going over there?

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Anybody? Anybody? Yeah? Dubai? Yeah, I think that would be.
I mean if you.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Look geographically, because I had a buddy who lived there
for a little while. Yeah, and you actually know him.
He lived in Jordan as well, and I know you
would know who he is, my Maga McCoy. But anyway, yeah,
I as far as that area, if you look at geographically,
it's surrounded by Middle East, so it's incredibly dangerous, clearly

(21:53):
in that area.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I just have no interest.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
I hit the real estate's going through the roof and
even American realtors are opening up shop over there.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
It's a thing for sure. I mean the place is beautiful.
I mean it's gorgeous.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Oh yeah, it's painful.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah yeah, no question, no question about that. What we're
going to get into. I don't know if you guys
Elizabeth Warren, Oh, biz, everybody.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
I'm sorry. Actually, you guys are like, can I get
some more please? You brought her name up.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
She's she was on this podcast, and uh, it was
unbelievable and she's kind of almost kind of taken to task,
if you will, during this podcast. Now I have that audio.
We're going to get to that coming up after the
top of the hour, and and then also some other
interesting audio we'll get to next hour.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Did you anybody see the identical twins.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yes, that were saw X. It's so bizarre. They speak
kind of in unison. They're being asked about a situation.
And this was I believe was that Australia. I believe
it was in Australia.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Australia.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
These twins, Bridget and Paula powers, and it's bizarre. You
would think they rehearsed this, but it is one of
the most bizarre things you're ever gonna hear.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I'm serious. If you haven't heard this, you'll be like
what like when you do hear it.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
So we got some really good audio coming up. We'll
do just after the top of the hour on The
Mark Blazer Show.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Your show.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
Settled in watching The Reds last night and Cowboy Jeff Brantley,
who's right down Broadway, he's he's got these fantastic calls
that he makes.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
So I'm watching and I had to rewind to hear
this a couple of times, and Yep, I heard what
I thought I heard.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
There is no get me over fastball middle end of
this fella, at least not on the last two nights.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
He is whacking it. Wait, can I can I hear
that again? What cowboys said? Again?

Speaker 6 (24:12):
There is no getting me over fastball middle end of
this fella, at least not on the last two nights.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
He is Yeah, he's uh, yeah, he's taking care of business.
He was whacking it. I guess, yeah, that was.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
There is no.

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Fella, at least not on the last two nights.

Speaker 10 (24:34):
He is it.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
I just it's like, when he says that, do you
think he says it? And I know Cowboy, I have
had him on the air a couple of times when
I worked Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
I love him. He's one of the greatest people ever
on this planet.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
But I just wonder when I was watching that as
I go did he did you think he said that?
And then went like did I just And he's talking
about his hands obviously, you know his hitting and stuff,
although that I don't know. It was twenty four to
two over the weekend. I'm sure you guys saw that score. Yeah,
wack it, wagging it because they were whacking it. The

(25:10):
Reds were, they were on fire. I couldn't believe that score.
I had to I thought it was like a work
or something. I was like, is this real? And then
ever since nothing, you know.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah, they should have saved some of those runs, you know, yeah,
well yeah, I don't even know how you And then
I was having the conversation with Congressman Jordans on Monday
when he came on, I go, I saw somebody post
should there be.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
The mercy rule in in baseball?

Speaker 2 (25:38):
It's like these are being paid million, millions of dollars.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
No, there's no mercy rule. Shouldn't be any of that.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Bob played GOP strategist in studio Don Ross, the retirement
boss with Ross Wild Adviser's Maga McCoy is in here
as well. I know you are a Yankees fan, so
I mean, I don't know how you guys are doing
this year.

Speaker 11 (25:59):
I haven't even off okay, start the last two games
against the Guardians, We've not fared well.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
So it's it's the only loyalty.

Speaker 7 (26:07):
I brought with me from growing up in upstate New.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
York, right, And that's yeah, that's respectable.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
By the way. Yeah, no, I try to do that too.

Speaker 7 (26:17):
I mean I'm like, definitely, and are.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
They as are they going to be as good as
they were last year again this year? So a lot
of some of the guys gone cot.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
You know, he's got Tommy John surgery, so he's out
for the year.

Speaker 11 (26:28):
I'll come back next year. So that just that killed
their pitching staff right away. But yeah, and Devin Williams
at the end of the bullpen has not been.

Speaker 7 (26:37):
What he was with with Milwaukee.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
My team's doing well, okay, yeah, oh that's right, that's right.
You're from the Michigan you're from the Detroit area. Well, oh, okay,
never mind, I saw the same Lions fan Michigan Michigan South.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
But I hate that team up north.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Okay, that's good, we got that straight. Yeah, But the
Tigers are off.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
The Tigers is a great start.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
They took three out of four from Kansas City this
weekend and strong start.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
Don't know what that means.

Speaker 7 (27:13):
That's a great place to go see a ball game.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
Oh, it's better than a terrible fun better than a
terrible start as far as strong start. But it's in
a long season, as they say, right, Yeah, lots and
lots and lots of baseball to play, which is fantastic
for us. Yeah, yay, yay. I know you don't really
follow baseball much. You played hockey though in.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Ua Burlington back seventy eight, three eighty one. Did you
know that? Did you know? I didn't play.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
I got my picture on my phone and my you
know the picture where you come up and do the
spray shot, and I'm actually on the team, and seventy
nine is on the wall and the new up Barnton
High School on the sports corridor. Oh, didn't they just
state champs? That's what I thought. Yeah, but they have
under armour and all that now. You know, back then we.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Had the enemy.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
You took off that heavy nylon, iron on the numbers.
You know, your mom had to iron on the numbers
on the jersey.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
And then you wove yourself.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
My dad had to drive the bus to take us
to you know, play Centerville, and half their team was
the hockey player or football players.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
That's when your mom's like, You're like, ma, I'm twenty three,
not thirty two, and she's like, man's close.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Enough, get out of the house. Come on, Mom, no,
just cout. And then that's too where you're going.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Man, I hope they don't have a really powerful slapshot
because cotton only stops it so much. Right, Oh, if
you're trying to block something, No, I can't imagine.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Actually, I mean, and we see the.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Guys in the NHL going down now and look at
what they're set up with, and you still see a
ton of them getting hurt constantly with that.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Did you have helmets and face masks?

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yeah, there were leather helmets.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
It was the late seventies, not the thirties. Fill us posito,
you know he didn't wear a mask. You guys were
the Yeah see that your team.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Yeah, I think I finally flew out my threw out
my super tax because you know, the leather was so hard.
Now they turned into you know, a stone pole or
something exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Uh yeah, so you guys still the jury still everyone's
still in favor of the Soldier Valley that.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Oh yeah, that was great.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
The league you're saying that was like past ten. Yeah,
are you all he's empty?

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Yeah, that happens. I'm passing around my hockey picture. We
do wow, Umber fifteen. I was left wing and uh
I looked tough.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I was eighteen there, about forty pounds later and I
was left wing and I warmed the bench very well.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
So you didn't do much. You didn't play a lot.
We played.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Our coach was pretty evenly. Uh uh, he was pretty generous.
But well, and you met you met one of my coaches.
Played golf with Jeff Porterfield. Oh okay, it's probably listening, Okay,
he was one of my coaches out Yeah, uh that
was fun.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
But look at that.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
It's all nylon, that's all yeah, there's no like what
they have today. It's just look though, I'm getting cut
of chills. And that's the os U rink, the old
one on Lane Avenue next to Saint John's. I remember
that was our home game and we used played at
Iceland also, which is behind the Gold Gold Circle the
coals on all Tangy by Riverside. It's long gone, but yeah,

(30:25):
yep we played there. Of course Friday night opened skate
you know, get a girl day and go skate around.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I was sixth grade. I was so nervous.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Man, the days, those were the days, right, No social media,
none of that crap, no doubt, which is the anti Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
You know it's like when you go.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
To the Masters, if you're lucky to do it, you're
not allowed to have your cell phone.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
And the cool thing was it No one's looking down
like this. Yeah you're talking to people. Yeah, if you
don't imagine, you wouldn't dare bring it in.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
There and then not trying to film something. You know.
That's why I cannot leave you.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
You watch these events and it's like things at the
White House and they have the camera there showing what's
going on, like when o ISU football team was there,
and all you see are cell phones being held up
because that's all people ever do now.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Events and then on Loop you had you know, Vice
President Advance dropping the they were going to like just jump.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Like.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
I was cracking up when I saw that, and then
you know, I love his His tweet was just you know,
I broke it so nobody else can have it.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
I thought that was great. I was like, that's pretty.
He's pretty if he came up with that, or do
you think somebody else?

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Probably he's pretty.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
He's pretty smart dude.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
So Senator Warren, who is do you have to go
back pretty quick?

Speaker 3 (31:57):
We were all in a good mood here.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
I'm out of here.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
It's just like I don't know if you guys on
X or Twitter or whatever you want to call it,
It's like every time I see her post something, my
blood starts to boil. I'm not sure what it is
about this woman that she all she does is lie
through her teeth.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Every time she speaks. It is all spun as we
know that.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
That's how it seems like any of the Democrats right now. Again,
it's you know, Trump says air is great and breathe
as much as you can, and they are all like
holding my breath, you know what. It's that whole thing
which it seems like, no matter what Trump is doing,
they want to do the complete opposite. This whole thing
going on with this this elf in El Salvador and

(32:39):
the fact that there have been five different people from
that we've paid to go over there and photo ops
with this guy, you, I mean, your thoughts on that
whole situation.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Anyway, it's irreprehensible that this guy would go and do
that for a photo op. And and I can't even
begin to describe, Senator van of it is to Americans
that work hard, pay their taxes, and this guy is
gonna go see a freaking rapist, murderous, rible human being,

(33:10):
and it's just unacceptable.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
And and Don everything you said is correct.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
What I find amazing is the political optics of this
is so bad I can't believe. And that tells you
that TDS Trump rangement syndrome is so like the Democrat
Democrats and Democrat Party to the extent that they're doing

(33:39):
now things that are hurting them politically, but they can't
stop themselves.

Speaker 11 (33:45):
This is a party whose odds on favorite right now
to be their leader is AOC.

Speaker 7 (33:51):
I will tell you everything you need to know.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
Let's hope she is.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
And I brought it up a couple times on the air.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
But did you see Senator Kennedy when he was sitting
with uh uh with uh Hannity And it was him
and a couple of other senators. Lindsey Graham was there
and a couple and they were sitting there kind of
doing a question at Q and A. And he said,
she's the reason AOC is the reason that they put
directions on the shampoo bottle.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
He was dead serious.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
They're all dying, Lavin, and he goes, we're doing what's
called operation letter Speak.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Just let her keep speaking. You know.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
It's the it's the when you when you see your
opponent making a mistake, you do not stop them.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
You will not interrupt them. He is hilarious, he is,
and he's it's it's pretty.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Abstitute, Bob, as nutty as they are, and we know,
you know they're they're wacky. Yeah, these midterms, you know
next year concerning that there's people out there going to
vote for these nuts.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
Well, the problem we have is their side is so
energized to vote because of you know, President Trump I.
They hate him so much they want to come out
to vote, and unfortunately our side has to realize that
and say, Okay, we got to get out there to
support him, because here's the problem. We only have the

(35:13):
Senate and the House until November of next year for sure,
and then if we lose one of those.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Two, we're screwed. It's all and we can't let that happen.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
But we can't. We got a campaign like twenty twenty four. Yeah,
and people got to realize I can't let down at all.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
And what has happened is we are now Republican Party
is now the party with less frequent voters. Where we
used to be the party with most frequent voters. That's
completely changed because now our base is working class and
those people are too busy, especially in an off year,
to vote. The Democrats are now rich white people party,

(35:55):
and those people have all kinds of time to vote,
and it's completely switched in.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
We got to make So here's Senator Warren she is.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
She was on this podcast and she was asked about
Biden's lucidity during his presidency. Basically, she was asked about
it now that it's all over with and so on,
and she tries to continue this charade and almost kind
of gives up. This is from So I was watching
Gutfeld this morning because I roll tape on it and
I was watching it and they played this part, so

(36:27):
there's some laughing and stuff. But this audio I couldn't.
I was in shock watching this. And I don't remember
the name of the podcast. But she's on with this
guy who clearly she felt was safe. And you'll hear
when you why I'm thinking or saying that when you
hear his voice and stuff. But he asked a question
and she almost and then right after all of this,

(36:48):
Gutfeld goes, I think I'm falling in love with him,
and that's the guy who was hosting the podcast. But
listen to this. This was their exchange. It's like a
minute long for me.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
This isn't about looking backwards, because.

Speaker 10 (37:00):
It just isn't helpful unless what we're answering is are
we gonna do any better going forward?

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Have we learned a damn thing?

Speaker 7 (37:07):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (37:08):
That was my nice question?

Speaker 7 (37:08):
Okay, good.

Speaker 12 (37:09):
Do you regret saying that President Biden had a mental acuity,
he had a sharpness to him. You said that up
until July of last.

Speaker 10 (37:16):
Year, I said what I believe to be true.

Speaker 12 (37:19):
Do you think he was as sharp as you?

Speaker 10 (37:23):
I said, I had not seem decline at that point.

Speaker 12 (37:27):
You did not Sandy decline From twenty twenty four Joe
Biden to twenty twenty one Joe Biden.

Speaker 10 (37:31):
Oh when I said that, because the thing is heap. Look,
he was sharp, he was on his feet. I saw
him live event. I had meetings with him.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
A couple of times.

Speaker 12 (37:46):
Senator on his feet is not praise. He can speak
in sentences is not praise.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Fair enough, fair enough.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
So good.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Praise that is not praise. He can speak a sentence
is not praise. I love it how Senator Warren got
firmed up and find she's like fair enough, fair enough.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
She basically related.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
At some point she had to give up on that.
Oh my god, she was finding a losing battle.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
I love it. We're done here, so good, so good. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
One of her recent tweets, Donald Trump and his unelected
billionaire co president are going after people's social security.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
Absolute lie. It is a lie. No, it is a lie.
All she does is lie on everything. It's crazy.

Speaker 8 (38:41):
And the Mark Laser Show on six ten WTV, Well.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
It turns out I guess it's okay to not immediately
respond to text messages and I don't know it says,
you know that pressure you might sometimes feel when you're
not responding to somebody's text message and a speedy fashion, Well,
it's only in your head, shouldn't be that big of
a deal. But the person texting you might give you

(39:07):
grief about taking too long to respond to a.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Text, but that's not your issue either.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Etiquette and Manners and Manners expert this guy pointing out
that texting is just another form of communication. It's okay
to prioritize what's going on with you first before succumbing
to a feeling of obligation that you need to respond
to somebody else's text immediately. Then he goes on to go, plus,
you're a grown ass adult, which I thought was funny,

(39:34):
And Chief Mediorologist Marshall mcpeach's joining us now, and they
go on to SI's over here, right, and then they
talk about, yeah, you're more capable of being able to
discern from the someone sick and needs help messages and
the what do you mean you didn't look at what
I just cooked?

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Message?

Speaker 1 (39:52):
So I think it's kind of interesting, but that's what
we're at. I guess in society they do.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
There's a take or an article on not responding fast enough.

Speaker 8 (40:02):
Or taking it easy if you because now when you
send that text message, it shows up as delivered or
read right, so when you send it to somebody, you
know whether they've seen it because it'll say red and
that's the new phrase. Just leave them on red, like
we're just gonna leave them hanging. I know that you
you you saw the message. Why haven't you answered? I'm

(40:22):
just leaving you on red?

Speaker 2 (40:24):
Thing is there you can turn off read receipts, at
least with Apple. I don't have mine on on purpose
because I don't because I could look at something and
then go okay if I see depending on who it
comes from, and then I'm like, okay, I can get
to that in a little bit. So I have it
off on purpose because I don't want them to be like,

(40:44):
you read that and didn't respond for twenty eight minutes.
You know, it's just like, yeah, but I had you know,
I don't know. I might have been in the middle
of mowing mowing the lawn, and I'm not going to
stop down to respond to minutes.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
I could have died by now exactly.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Those are the kinds of so, yeah, it's like every
seems like every facet of our lives is invasion.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
It's invasion invasion, you know.

Speaker 8 (41:10):
So there's always somebody waiting for you to get something done.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
It never fails.

Speaker 8 (41:15):
Yes, tonight we are gonna spend some time out on
the patio and enjoy a gorgeous evening fifty five degrees
for an overnight load.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Tonight.

Speaker 8 (41:23):
You might even be willing to leave the windows open
in this one. Then on Thursday, shut the windows again
when you leave the house because showers and thunderstorms are possible.
They are gonna be pop up storms like it was
July eighty two in the afternoon Friday seventy eight, with
some showers and thunderstorms, and those will finish up early
Saturday morning. It's looking a little wet for the Capital

(41:44):
City half marathon Saturday morning.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
All right, Marshall, thank you very much. It is eighty
right now. Man, it is a beautiful night to be
out on a patio or on two wheels or what
have you. He's GOP strategist Bob Plagainst Studio and also
Dot Ross, the retirement boss with Ross Wealth Advisors eight
three three. Don Ross real quick before we get to
this audio about those strange news interviews the you know

(42:09):
what the market is, you said it it had it
was pretty good early on and then it kind of felt,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Know where we ended up. Where do we close it?
fALS but.

Speaker 4 (42:22):
Okay, yeah, yeah was up two and a half. Okay,
so that's you know, a lot of your text. But yeah,
time in the market, not timing the market.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Time in the market, not timing in the market. Yeah.
So anyhow, it's uh, I mean, there's the talk right
now where and I don't know.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
And this is surface for me because I just kind
of glanced at some headlines, but you know, there indicator
and there being some of the mainstream media is Trump.
It's like they're acting like President Trump is backing down
from China.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
Now now, I mean, this is I mean, we went
through this eight years ago. Remember when he first put
on tariffs on raised tariffs on China.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
That was eight years ago.

Speaker 5 (43:06):
You heard all of this, Oh, this is gonna be
awful for the game. Yeah, and none of that happened.
In fact, those tariffs. When Biden came in, he kept him.
So I mean we got to let all of this
play out. It's not instantaneous, no, And he's trying to

(43:26):
level a playing field that has been out of whack
for thirty forty years.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
I mean it's gonna take time, yep.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
Yeah, And you know what, most people I talked to
that aren't in this business either, they get it. Plus
you have access to everything at your hand now with
Google on social media. But yeah, it's gonna take time,
and it needs to be done. You know, it's the
old adage, you've got to rip the band aid off.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
People are still there's no question people are still worried,
and you know they're they're just worried because of and
you talk about this all the time, the uncertainty part
of this, and that's where people start to kind of
me knock.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
Well and if you will, And at least what we
do as an independent advisory firm, we're customizing a plan
for everybody. It's not off the shelf. Everybody has different goals, dreams, budgets. Okay,
I mean retirement income is basically what are you spending
a month? Is is your so security and or pension
or your acids generating enough income?

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Yeah? How much do you want guaranteed? How much do
you want not want?

Speaker 3 (44:26):
Isn't some of that also short term? Long term?

Speaker 5 (44:29):
Like some people have short term needs. Other people don't,
so it's more they can take a more long term approach.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
Yeah yeah, but if you're living off your savings, you
don't need it all once. So we show people, hey,
this money, we're going to make a little more growth
wrined because you're not going to touch it for ten years.

Speaker 1 (44:45):
Yeah, it's available.

Speaker 4 (44:47):
And if you're living on eight grand a month, I've
seen people live on twenty five hundred a month.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
I've seen people live on twenty you know.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
And our clients are just like most of your listeners
who By the way, again, I've met some great people.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Every week someone call or.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
Texts in and all that, but they all have unique goals.
And here's here's the number one thing. I don't want
to run out of money. I don't want to overpay taxes.
And if I get sick, I want to protect it.
And then when I'm done with it, it goes where
I wanted to go, usually loved ones or something like that.
That's everybody, regardless of the size of your balance sheet.
And that's why I love what we do in.

Speaker 1 (45:21):
Our because that's your goal too, to help them achieve that.

Speaker 4 (45:24):
