(00:00):
So I was actually just reading thisstory about John Mellencamp and he sat down
with the Washington Post was laughing becauseit was a show. I guess this.
I don't know this show. He'scalling it a little Diddy about Jack
and Diane. I guess that's thename of the show. Whatever. It
was in Toledo. And so Isaw the Ohio connection. I start reading

(00:22):
it and in this article, they'relike a fan rudely interrupted him. I
guess he's telling stories and such duringthese shows, and a fan was like,
Hey, how about some music, play some music or whatever, and
then he goes on to talk aboutit just hits me sideways. I expect
etiquette inside the theater the same wayyou would a Broadway show, and it's

(00:47):
just like these guys who take themselvesso seriously, and look, the foundation
of your notoriety is on your music. That's why people want to see you,
that's why they come to your shows. And you're comparing yourself to a
Broadway show, yet you're not Broadway. And so I'm so confused with this.
But he's just saying, if you'regonna be like that, and it

(01:10):
tries to say the guy who saidthis at in Toledo. He was like,
you know, find that guy andhave him meet me after the show.
It's like he's seventy two years old. It's just like John, will
you take it easy. He's hadall these heart conditions and so on,
and he's acting like a tough guy. You know, he's a tough guy
with the bodyguards all around him.I guess, or what have you.
I'm siding with the fans here, and he's going, if that's what you

(01:34):
want when you come to see me, then stay out. And it's just
like, no problem, don't haveany problem staying out. I would think
that these will die off and he'snot going to have as many people probably
joining him as he thinks is goingto happen or what have you. So
I don't I just I saw thatstory. It was just like the goal

(01:55):
of this guy. Congressman Jim Jordanis joining us now and Congressman, how
are you made? I'm doing fine. You never know what's gonna come up
on the Mark Waves show. Imean that we got got concert stories or
music that's amazing. That's amazing. There's always something. This is wide variety
of interest on and information on thisgreat show. Are you a John Cougar

(02:16):
fan? I mean I liked hismusic growing up, and you know,
yeah, yeah yeah. But whenyou when you hear that this story where
he is acting this way, I'mjust like, who is this guy?
You know? Yeah, yeah,yeah, I don't know. I I
guess they'd have to see the context. Was was the was the it was

(02:37):
the patron being rude. But youknow, on the other hand, it's
like, uh, you kind ofgo to a concert to hear music basically
when it's a musician given the concert, right, yeah, yeah exactly.
And what he's turned it into islike he's telling stories and so on,
and I think every once in awhile he'll play a song. But if
you didn't know that going in,you got duped, you know. I
mean you get in there and you'relike, oh my gosh, I don't

(02:59):
want to hear they talk. Especiallydude, he's probably gonna start ranting because
we know politically where he comes down. He's a raging liberal. So it's
like, that's the last thing Iwant to hear about when I go to
a concert. You know, it'slike you show up at a Joe Biden
press conference, you actually expect thepress to ask some questions, but that
never happens, does it. No. As a matter of fact, I

(03:21):
saw the one a little bit offootage where he was like, Okay,
who am I supposed to ask for? Hell? And I gotta find it.
It is pathetic. A day afterday after day after day after month
after month after year, we've seenthis, and the legacy media continues to
just ignore it and try to focuson something that President Trump did. And
notice how you know the Chip filA visit in Atlanta for instance, with

(03:43):
the first that amazing, it wasit was fun, right, it was
because that's President Trump and you've seenthat. I've seen that behavior many.
I'm just like, he's just he'sa fun guy to be around, and
he's a great host when he haspeople. It's just like you can see
that and feel it. I mean, it's amazing to me the difference with

(04:04):
I mean, there's on so manydifferences between President Trump and joke, but
that that I think the country understandsPresident Trump was actually a good president.
So anyway, but yeah, youcan just that was that was a great
clip because that is President Trump.Yeah, yeah, for sure it was.
Did you see the girl like hughim? And you know that.

(04:24):
I was like, wow, Andyou know he's not afraid to just interact
with people, you know what Imean. So, yeah, he's the
best. And there's the thing thatand we've talked about this before, there
is a bond between the voters thesupporters of President Trump. You see it
at every rally, and I've beento several of them that because the voters

(04:45):
know, the people know this guyis truly fighting for them. I tell
them. I tell people it's equivalentto like a good coach who you know,
the really good coaches in sport arethe ones where the athlete knows that
guy cares about my interest and he'shelping me, and they're going to go
sell out for that coach. Andyou see that. All the same bond
exist between President Trump and his supporters. And he has a great line when
he says, he goes, they'recoming after me because I'm fighting for you.

(05:08):
They're coming after my freedom because I'mfighting for yours. And the country
understands that he's a rock star, there's no question about that. You see
him walking the I think it wasone of the one of the fights not
too long ago where I think Tuckerwas with him and maybe Kid Rock and
they people lose their minds when hegoes into It's so fun to watch.

(05:28):
And I love how that mainstream mediakeeps making it like, well, he's
losing it at Quinnypeac poll that comesout and said, you know, Biden's
going to try to flip you know, South Carolina within the margin of error
and all of all of this stuffdoesn't make any difference right now, we're
so far from it. But Idon't know, how do you you would
have to think if if, ifBiden gets re elected, it's definitely the

(05:54):
fix that's in. There's no waythat the majority of America can want this
guy for four more years and dealwith the devastation that we are seeing.
And you just saw, you know, recently, the report comes out that
you know, we're back, Idon't know, around the three point nine
percent range, and they're trying tosay that they inherited. It was one

(06:15):
point nine percent when Biden took overall of those things. We're seeing that
this kind of stuff, and hejust bold faced lying to America. How
can you not understand what this guyis saying and doing And the results are
that you really they're undeniable when wego to the store. I see you
tweet about it all the time.It just continues to happen. Yeah,
and the country gets it the thelook that they can. The legacy media,

(06:40):
as you say, can try tomake something and you know some story
of the South Carolina numbers. Butthe fact is there are seven states that
now determine the presidency. In everyone of them, Georgia, North Carolina,
Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, ofout of Arizona, every single one
of them, President Trump is leadingor even most of He's like four points
up in the latest polling I've seenin Michigan. So that tells you those

(07:01):
are the states that decide the presidentialelection. He's up in everyone because the
people have figured it out. Hey, Congressman Jordan, I want to ask
you about the vote yesterday that failedto reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act aka
FAIZA. Nineteen Republicans broke rank. And there is an argument within conservative circles

(07:25):
that this was a good thing thatthis did not get reauthorized because it didn't
have that amendment, which will requirean additional warrant for any data collected in
the process. That that's collected inthe process, you know, of American
citizens. Can I ask what didyou feel it was too important not to

(07:48):
renew it? Even though that amendmentis very important so that this cannot be
weaponized against any America. I mean, we saw, you know, they
tried to pull this crap with PresidentTrump in the right hopes. So I'm
just curious. Did you feel itwas too important not to without that amendment
because a lot of people Conservative movementwant that amendment in there. Yeah,

(08:09):
no, exactly, I too,and I'm not going to vote for reoptimization
of the I'm not going to votefor the bill unless know the warrant requirement
is there. Understand that there's there'stwo parts defizer. There's there's the part
where that was abused at the fiesA court relative to American citizens, specifically
what was abused when they filed onPresident Trump's campaign. That's not up for
reauthorization, although there are elements inthis in this in this legislation which try

(08:33):
to fix some of those concerns overthere, But the main part that's up
for reauthorization is this seven oh twoprogram where we spile on foreigners, but
in the process of spinal foreigners, you pick up all kinds of information about
Americans. And what we're saying is, if you're then going to search this
giant hay stack of information, giantdatabase, and you're going to search an
American's name, phone number, email, you got to go get a warrant.

(08:54):
Because this is the same FBI whodid spile on President Trump's campaign.
This is the same the guy whosaid parents at school board meetings were terrorists.
This is the same FBI who saidif you're a pro life Catholic,
you're in the extremist And this isthe same FBI who said to the whistleblowers
who came forward that they were gonnaget those whistlers got retaliated again. So
we don't trust them to just followtheir own rules or some new restrictions placed

(09:16):
on them. We think you shoulduse the time and tested method which is
in our Constitution, which says,if the executive branch is gonna look at
your stuff, they're gonna look atyour information, they got to go to
it a separate and equal branch ofgovernment and get a warrant. And so
without that amendment, I'm not gonnasupport it. The rule went down yesterday
for some other kind of concerns andbroader concerns about this whole process because the

(09:37):
rule actually allowed that amendment to bemade in order and for us to get
a chance to offer that and hopefullywin that as an amendment to the underlying
legislation. Now it looks like that'sgoing to take place tomorrow with a few
changes to the overall bill, butthat warrant on them. It's going to
be offered tomorrow. Hopefully we win. Okay, we will win it.
I'm not going to vote for thebill and the final package in the end.
So that's the next step. Thenyou're talking about early tomorrow. Yeah,

(10:01):
that's what we talked about now,Okay, I just do you think
Speaker Johnson can get everything in orderand we get this done, because it's
been a struggle for him to getsome things done. It just let's face
facts. Yeah, no, Ido. I'm hopeful because of the right
policy and the way to protect Americansliberties and also to get information on foreigners

(10:26):
who are you know I want todo with harm is to renew it,
but only renew it with the warrantrequirement. If you're going to search this
database of information using American people's Americancitizens' names, phone numbers, or emails.
So, what are your thoughts,Congressman Jim Jordan's joining us now,
your thoughts on Christopher Ray and thewarnings that it sounds like he keeps trying

(10:50):
to sound and then you know it'son the tail end of asking for money
and so on. We know it'slike, not only is this like no,
no more money for the FBI.Not only that, but some people
say, you know, let's dismantleor at least shrink the FBI and so
on with that. But is thistiming that he's coming out going I've never

(11:11):
seen so many different things all atonce happened simultaneously. That is a threat.
And it just feels like he's he'strying to use that as like leverage
to be like, and we needmore money, the FBI needs more money.
Is that what you're picking up onhere? I think it underscores the

(11:33):
magnitude of the problem on our board. That's because this is he's talking about
threats to the country, and it'slike when you got people coming in from
one hundred and eighty different countries, and you've got people coming in from communists
China, and bad people from allkinds of places that you know, like
the people coming from Venezuela, allof all kinds of you know, drug

(11:54):
dealers, terrorist type people coming innumber of people who we have encountered who
are on the terrorist watch list.I think that's what he's getting at.
So, hey, Joe Biden, why don't you take notice how serious this
problem is, the problem that youintentionally created with your change in the Trump
changing from what President Trump had inpolicy. That's what I think is being
highlighted here. Let's hold this administrationsees the light, but it sure doesn't

(12:16):
look like they're going to Yeah,it's funny when you hear him saying that
and underlying that really is his messagewhen we all know it's all self inflicted.
That stuff that's happening, it's theadministration that he's rooting for, is
what's causing it. It's unbelievable,it is, but it isn't. At
the same time, boy, Itell you, November, I can't get
here fast enough. I'm not tryingto wish the summer away, but boy,

(12:37):
we really need we really need PresidentTrump in there. There's no question.
Hey, on a lighter note,as we let you go, are
you. I'm sure you're checking outthe Masters this week round one today,
and yeah, I don't know ifyou've been able to even look at any
of it, but it's been prettygood. I haven't. I just like
it's in the background. But we'vehad actually another busy day on Capitol Hills.

(13:00):
But I saw I think, whois it? Uh, yeah,
the Shambo is winning, but youknow it's Curtly, so we'll see.
But yeah, it's it's it's kindof like once you once the Master's on
and you watch it on Sunday,it's like you feel like, actually the
real spring and the real summer isactually here. So yeah, it's always
kind of a fun weekend. Anduh, I'll definitely be watching that,
you know, those sort of finalnine holes on on Sunday afternoon. Very

(13:22):
good, All right, Conress JimJordan's Jim, thank you so much.
