Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now, it has been a long time since I have,
since I have shipped any gifts through the you know,
like holiday.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Seasons, sending stuff typically if I'm gonna you know, buy somebody,
you know, something like that, and it's usually through Amazon.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Is this a gift check mark? Yes, just send it on.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Right and you can change the you know, you can
change the shipping address and boom it'll land at their
house or whatever. So it's, uh, it's been a long
time since I've done that. But if you're one of
those people that have to ship the gifts this holiday season,
they're you're gonna have to pay more. The United States
Post off Really yeah, yeah, I love out there trying

(00:48):
to The move is a strategic part of USPS's ten
year plan to create a revitalized organization.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Oh my gosh, are they really.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
It's just like just say, we're were up in the
prices and it just stall us out with.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
No mail in ten years.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Do you not understand that's the reason you're broke all
the time now is because people send emails, people send
text messages, people don't put stuff, they don't even put.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Their bills in the mail anymore. There will be no
mail in ten years.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
And so long since I mailed a bill. You know
what The last one I mailed was because there was
a picture. They took a picture of my license plate
and I was having to pay a toll. Oh the toll,
but it can't see. It was in the mail. It
came through the snail mail, and when I opened it up,

(01:36):
it had the plate and there was an actual like
it wasn't a really good picture, but it was like
a picture where you could see. I was like, okay,
yeah that's real, you know. Like I was like, oh,
that was the car I drive it, and yeah, it
wasn't anything. It was like seven dollars or something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
I got one of those ones when City of Club
has had their red light cameras, they sent me a
picture of me going through a red light.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Yeah, you were like, that wasn't me. I sent them
back a picture of one hundred and twenty dollars. I
love it. And then they got rid of the red
light cameras and I've never had to deal with it since.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
So did you pay before they got rid of that?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:13):
You just didn't pay.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
No, it was it was a ridiculous, unconstitutional thing to do.
I wasn't being confronted by my accusers, So no, I
wasn't paying any I wish they would have taken me
to court.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
You know, there are a lot of people listening right now.
You're their hero instantly if you weren't already just because
of that.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, it was nothing but a money grab anyway.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Everybody knew that. That's why it went away very quickly.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
The city was getting money for allowing a company to
take your picture and charge you money. That's called a kickback.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Did you did it? Was it asking for a check?
Like would you have to set in other words? I
could either mail it in or take it down down Okay?
So in other words, who were you paying? The company?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
The city of Columbus?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Okay, the city, Yes, it wasn't the police, well in essence.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
Called the city, I think is what I was supposed
to do on it.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Well, so then at that point where you like, well
this is actually legit as far you were like, I
don't know, I'm ready to fight this.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
So there was probably too much of that and they
just said they threw their hands up, went all right,
we're not going to get But I wonder how many
people out of how many thousands and thousands of those
they sent out. People just gave them the money, just
sent the money, paid up And.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yeah, because I would have I think they should have paid.
They should pay it all back. I really do. Even
to this day, if you paid a RICTUS ticket, I
think the city should have to give it back to you.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Plus ten percent. But you saw the picture and went good, right.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
I thought it was hilarious. I heard some comedian on tvgo.
I sent them back a picture of money, So that's
exactly what I did.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
That's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah, there's they're literally with this story as far as
you know, they're asking you to pay more United States
Postal Office if you're going to be sending gifts. There's
literally three pages of look at this of all the
different all the different rates and all. So I'm not

(04:04):
gonna I'm not even gonna get close to you know, going, Okay,
So here's what zones one through four zero to three pounds.
It's a dollar increase. And yeah, I will tell you.
The price hikes go into effect on Monday and they
stay in place until January eighteenth. A complete list of
the full prices can be found on the Commission's website.

(04:27):
In the daily listings section.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
By the way, if you mail your Christmas packages by
this Monday, they should arrive by January eighteenth.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
It's probably how long it'll take. Yeah, yeah, I haven't
used snail mailt snail mail and so long. And as
far as bills go, I've been using the online bill
pay for years, years and years and years. Now do
you use that or no?

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, because they pay then I don't have to buy
a stamp then.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
And I get a little thing from the credit Union
goes you know aep has been paid. Yeah know, they
send me a little thing when it's been received. On
the other ends, it's great.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
You just wonder how much longer can can they sustain
what's happening? You can't tell because it's not that's a
separate entity, that's not the government.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
And they have told us how many times now.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Well, the reason we have to raise the price of
stances because we're a lot of overtime in these Amazon packages.
But instead of charging Amazon more to ship their packages,
there are millions upon millions upon millions of packages. You
want to charge Grandma and Grandpa a little more to
send that fruit cake to junior in Montana?

Speaker 2 (05:33):
That is correct, Sorry man, I'm actually, oh what did
I do with that?

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Those heels are getting a little tight now, aren't they?
They are? I can't wear them all day.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Is there anything on the printer in there? Zack attack
by chance?

Speaker 3 (05:48):
It looks like some pizza sauce or something.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Do you see anything on there?

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Or no?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Is there nothing on there?

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yeah? Gone it.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
I printed out something that I need for this for
this segment and I ohe oh, yeah you did. I'll
wait a minute, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh okay, this
is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man. So
Taylor Swift's album came out dropped last night at midnight,
and there are oh my gosh. First of all, I

(06:19):
started looking, you know, getting ready for the show today,
and I was like, really, Krispy Kreme is getting in
on this. They're celebrating, of course, they are the Life
of a show Girl. I go, well, wait a minute,
how are they going to connect donuts with Tata? How
are they going to do this? They're celebrating the release
of the new album Life of a Showgirl. The donuts
change original glazed donuts are orange today.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Okay, what orange?

Speaker 2 (06:42):
That's a trump thing? Wait a minute, he's got orange
sewed up. How somebody explained to me how orange is
connected to Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
The only similarity I see between her and donuts is
they both appear to be sweet and are likely bad
for you.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
It could be sorry, Travis.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Anyway, they're orange today. In honor of this, they're also
offering a Spotlight dozen, which offers nine orange original glazed
donuts with three Spotlight Swirl donuts featuring an orange and
green icing swirl. I challenge you to go to krispy
Kreme and see if they because what you're probably going

(07:21):
to hear is, yeah, we're out of those. Because every
time there's a specialty anything there, I'm like, oh, you know,
I'm gonna try that. I go through there, no, welcome
to Krispy Kreme, and yeah, can I try that special time? Yeah,
we're out of those. I almost every time.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Chuck opened at four am, those were gone by four
oh two. Sorry, that's it they made.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
I put them both in there at the same time,
and uh just try to see if I can get
choked on it. Yes, exactly, that's right. I'm talking to
myself now, all right, So, uh you want to know
where to uh where to listen in Columbus. They are

(08:00):
are one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine ten.
Then these are Swift themed events those first that I
counted off. Those are all different places you literally can
go and listen to the official release.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Party, like businesses or Yeah, some guy named Jim is
going to play the CD in his garage.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
No, you can add another one on there.

Speaker 2 (08:31):

while you're also listening. Yeah, it's called scrow talks at
Swift LP my back he perfect. Just FYI, everybody's invited.
I'm not getting scrow Talks at your place. I can
tell you that you have these like hidden cameras and stuff.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yeah, beware you see that that guy Dugs Covert do
something or other. He's got on the coffee table and
living room. It's in all the pictures he puts on Facebook.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Don't ignore the U Tubajellow.

album listening session.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
It's far too cool to have a Taylor Swift listening session.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
You know what it's like great minds thinking like because
I I did the same thing, Chuck. I was like,
when I heard I saw land Grant, I went, wait
a minute, I thought the same thing, same exact thing
you just said. I was like, I thought that was like,
that's like a really hip, cool place. Yes, Uh, DJ
Dive Barbie is going to play the Taylor favorites. Wow,

(09:42):
that's the DJ there. That is happening tonight starting at
six o'clock. That's on West Town Street and it's free.

Speaker 3 (09:51):

listen to the music?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I hope, I'm not exactly sure. It's a wine tasting, ye,
so you're gonna get Yeah, you're gonna get wine. So
you enjoy the favorite some of Swift's favorite wines while
celebrating her new album. So I guess some of her
favorites will be on the menu. And that's all part
of what you get when you go to Savor Pint

(11:00):

Speaker 3 (11:01):
She's a Boonz farm girl boons far. Unless it's a
special occasion you break out the Mogan David.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
If I'm not mistaken, both of those have a screw
cap on them.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
I'm pretty sure they do.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Yeah, at this point, they probably come in plastic bottles
or they're still around.

Speaker 3 (11:22):

(12:41):
just dumb how rich she is now off of this. Okay, great,
but I was just like, Wow, they're going crazy over

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
