Good morning, Chicago, wake up, say the news. It's time for

(01:04):
the hairlines. Your news college fromChicago. It's a worldwide but the WCCM
or in this show. All right, the federal government shutdown is looming,
so Illinois political leaders and officials areanticipating how local services and programs might be
affected. Now, government shutdown maymess with flights from Chicago airports and payment

(01:29):
for government employees, including are goodmen and women that are serving at Naval
US the Naval Station Great Lakes. So this is crazy. Those who are
set to travel in October, youmay want to prepare for possible delays at
Midway and O'Hare airports. Now.While federal traffic, air controllers and transportation
security agents will still be required toshow up to work without paid during a

(01:53):
government shutdown, history shows that sometimesthey do not come to work. So
that makes sense. Who's who gotto come to work when they know they're
not getting paid? Yeah? Yeah, but I mean the only thing that's
scary about that That sounds good tillyou're in the plane in the air and
the air traffic controllers decide to takeoff. Yeah, I mean, they

(02:17):
like, what if you you don'tlive in Chicago, You're coming from LA
to Chicago. I know, Iget what you say, But the people
who aren't getting paid, how muchcare I don't even want them at to
work when they don't when they're notgetting paid, you ain't gonna care as
much. You know what. Thisis landed how you want. So that's
go, that's I don't know,that's kind of that's kind of scary.

(02:39):
Man. Man, I'm telling you, I do not want nobody who's not
getting paid to do anything for me. Please, So hey, Sue's truey
Garcia says the government shutdown would hitthe state hard. It would affect nutrition
programs, education programs, and ourability to travel through airports. Uh.
It's over eighteen thousand, six hundredservice members at Great Lakes Naval Station and

(03:01):
they say they would be impacted bythe shutdown. Fifteen thousand recruits and military
staff would be required to continue toshow up to work during the shutdown,
and the three thousand, six hundredcivilian employees the central staff would continue to
work while others would be furloughed allwithout pay. Wow. And also aren't
postal workers in that aren't they governmentemployees too? Yeah? Remember the last

(03:23):
government shutdown, postal workers got hithard. Yeah. So so Governor JB.
Pritsker issued a statement Wednesday saying heis working with Illinois Treasurer Mike Ferricks
to reinstate a one hundred million dollarszero or low interest loan program for federal
workers in Illinois so they could paytheir bills. What's up? And Uh
they are good friends over at ABCreached out the fem of a word if

(03:46):
there would be any impact to floodingaid in the Chicago era, but they
haven't answered them back yet. AndI know a couple of people who poems
were messed up by the recent floodsthat we had out in the South suburbs.
I tell you what, I'm gonnastand with the if we go on
the shutdown, I'm staying with theUH government up. I'm not gonna come
in. I'm just gonna stand withthem and seedarity and solidarity that's what it's

(04:08):
called. Yeah, I'm gonna bein solidarity with him, with everybody who's
yeah. And then then the newIt's gonna sound like this in the morning
one or seven five number one forhip hop and R and B, Me
and Ryan in the building, ZachWill shining shoes in the subway somewhere.
Get your sneakers clean, Zach WillSneaky cleaning service. Hey, man,

(04:30):
go to WCI dot com for thesestories and more coming up. Lion's locker
room. Big trades in the NBA. It's Milwauking the team to beat.
Now we'll talk about it. Heyman. The NBA season is kicking off
a little early. Yes, Ilisten. Milwaukee said, look here,
man, we tired to sit andput Now. This is a far crying
away from where Dame Lillard wanted togo. Dame Lillard ended up going to

(04:54):
the Milwaukee Bucks. He wanted togo to Miami, yes, but I
guess they wanted to whatever. Buthe went to Milwaukee. The team up
with my man in the Greek freakGiannis Anthennick Kompo, Yes, and Middleton
Chris Middleton. And so it wasa three team deal with the Milwaukee Bucks
and the Phoenix Suns in Portland.Damian Lillard has the has the Milwaukee while

(05:18):
Drew Holiday, DeAndre Ayton, TumoniKamara and the Milwaukee twenty twenty nine unprotected
pick and unprotected Milwaukee swap swap rightsin twenty twenty eight and twenty thirty go
to the Blazers. Phoenix gets YusefNurkics Grayson Allen Nasira Little and Kean Johnson

(05:38):
in the deal. Now, Ithink both all three teams came out pretty
well. I mean, you gotMilwaukee getting the veteran Jeru Holiday, They're
getting the young center and DeAndre Aydenmaybe his maybe his pair up with the
guard that they already just drafted, the School young boy Anthony and School.
And then of course you got theh the unprotected pick and twenty twenty nine

(06:00):
and the unprotected Milwaukee Milwaukee swap rightsin twenty twenty eight and twenty thirty.
Go to the Blazers. That's cool. You know, you got three picks
and you building around school. Andnow Phoenix added a bunch of depth in
the in the bench, and theygot a nice center and youself, Nerk,
Well, I want to shout outto the Bucks, Phoenix and the
Blazers. You know what I'm saying. The Bucks are an hour and a

(06:23):
half away from Chicago, and aswe sit talk about how they are about
to possibly win a championship and beNBA contenders, we have done nothing.
Well, no, you know whatthe Bulls have not done. A Portlan
say, hey man, we gotDame Lillard here. What y'all want to
do? The bulls Now. We'restraight. We're good. We like,
we like what we got, wegot we got going on. It's all

(06:43):
right. I mean, may it'sjust a little bit of mold on this
cake. Maybe make the playoff. It's just a little bit of mold on
this cake. That's We'll be inthe playing game for the playoffs. Don't
worry, aboudy. We're good. Our fans are selling out the United Center
thanks to what Jordan did twenty sevenyears ago, so it's still sold out.
So we're good. We'd have no, we don't care. We don't
care to try to get better. We're just like, hey, we're good.

(07:05):
This is it. Yeah, okay, yea, but showing a half
away, go up street, seea champion. Go to WJCI dot com
for these stories. The more youfollowing all social media outlets at Leon Rogers,
No dear in my last name becauseI don't do the d zach.
What we got coming up in theZ spot? Oh man, we gotta
up. I like to use thisword. A plethora of story man from

(07:28):
Kevin Hart to Usher to Mega Stallion, all coming up in the Z spot.
He went to school, Yes,sir, Now listen, there is
a resurface clip that came out whereKevin Hart talked about people in the hood.
He's getting a lot of slack onthis. Basically what he said is
he said, if you look inthe hood, there's liquor stores and check
cashing places. You know why, because they know the people in the hood

(07:50):
aren't smart enough to open bank accounts. They're gonna get a check, they're
gonna cash it, and it's aliquor store right next to it. And
then he added, let's just putthat around them, all right. So
people are really giving him a lotof slack on this saying that. You
know, somebody on Twitter was like, you know, some folks leader hood
all together and just forget about theplight of the hood. Now, I

(08:13):
personally think that that's not the case. I think that he was actually shared
a light on the plight of thehood, not necessarily. I don't think
he was saying that to trash thepeople who live there or maybe going through
these situations. I think what hewas saying was, hey, no,
you need to shine light on this, and this is a problem that they're
the building things around the hood forpeople to fall into traps. I don't

(08:35):
understand how people are misinterpreting what he'ssaying, because because when you have money
and you're doing a little bit betterthan people, they're automatically assume that you're
talking down and sometimes the truth hers. We do need people in our communities
to stop the building of liquor storesand stuff like that and build more grocery
stores. We got food deserts inthere. But I'm gonna get a drink
whenever I want to right in thehood. But I can't go get nutritious

(08:58):
food. I gotta eat pizza, pluffs and all that. So it's absolutely
right, but sometimes, like Isaid, it gets it gets uh the
content context, yes, when itcomes from certain people, and I think
that's terrible. Instead of sitting andlistening to what he's saying, He's absolutely
right. They do put those trapsin there for us pay their loan stores,

(09:20):
all that crap in our neighborhoods. You don't see him when you go
to other areas. But that wasn'tto down the people who lived there.
I don't understand. Alert us tothe problems, alert the problem right.
Also Usher called shared how Jay Zcalled him right after the News was announcing
he's performing at the Big show Man'sit's crazy. He said that jay Z

(09:41):
was actually one of the first peopleto call and congratulate him about the announcement,
and he said when he got thecall, he said, jay was
like, it's time, It's magictime, It's time for your moment.
And then all of a sudden, you know, Usher was like, Hey,
what you're talking about? He's like, brother, the Big Game man?
What you mean when? How don'tyou know what I'm talking about?

(10:03):
Exact? Can we can we revisitsomething? I remember when jay Z got
a certain job with the NFL.Yeah, a lot of us killed him,
said he was chasing the bag.He do that now since he's been
in that position. Look at thelast three Big Game show. Yeah,
look at the lot Rihanna, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Drey fifty cent Eminem

(10:28):
and now Usher. The culture isbeing represented in the Big Game halftime show,
one of the biggest shows that everybodywatches. Yeah, but I remember
when jay first got the time,Everybody like you sell out? You're doing
this. Nobody's sitting in quietly,he shipped it. You know, we
ain't got to sit up and watchCountry Weston for thirteen minutes and he sit
here and he did say I wantedto work from the inside out. You

(10:50):
know what I'm saying, People's chestsnot check us. Listen, man,
Activism looks different for different people. You know what I'm saying. Shout out
to Jay Z and what he's doingwith the Big Game halftime show. For

Jackie Chan. What they got ourown? The Raffluran n Cho chop Chop
Chop Chop chop chop. All right, man chop, let's get to it,

(11:35):
man chop it. His brother namedBrandon says, I write this letter
with a heavy heart. Me andmy girl have been together for six years.
We have a three year old son, and recently she told me that
she had stepped out on our relationshipfour years ago. Now I didn't trip
because I'd been guilty of cheating myself. The thing is though she cheated on
me with one of my best friends. See, early in our relationship,
I had some legal trouble and Ihad to do a year in the county

(11:58):
jail. And she said one nightthey were at a party, he took
her home. In between the liquor, me not being around her being close
to him, they slipped up andthey had drunk sex, but they promised
never to speak on it to anybody. Fast forward a year later, my
good friend was killed on some street. Ish. Now, we all took
it pretty hard. That was mydog. He was a friend for life.

(12:18):
Now, as my little boy's gettingolder, my grandmama constantly jokes that
he does not look like me andlow key she's kind of right. Now.
I asked my girl for a DNAtest and she went off on me,
saying, you don't think he's yours. I told you I only cheat
it once. Now I think hemight be my homeboy's son, but he's
dead. I secretly want to geta DNA test done, But how do

(12:41):
I do that when the guy whoI think is the father is deceased.
But the crazy thing is if thechild isn't mine and it's his, I'm
conflicted because I love the baby andoutside of to slip up with my girl,
my dad Homie was a solid dude. Should I just continue with my
relationship with my woman and the childor get a DNA test behind our back?

(13:05):
And if so, how do Ido that? Brother? Brother?
Brother? What's a lot going on? Man? Damn bro, he got
a lot going on? Man.Man Hit us up, y'all? Yeah,
A six six eight eighty five oneoh seven five, call us up?
Oho. This is where you callhim from. Call us on the
west side. This Felicia, thatonly south syndrom. Felicia from the West
Side with the only child syndrome. So what should this brother dude? Should

(13:28):
he just ride it out it iswhat it is? Or should he?
Uh? I think it out?Okay, ride it out because that's that's
I mean. It was only onetime. Of course, I don't condone
it. But he loved her,the baby, and he loved his friend.
And again it was the food up. Some things are unforgivable, but
I think he could get a heshould get a pass on that. All

(13:50):
right, now, thanks for yourcall, okay A six six eight eight
five one oh seven five. Continueto hit us up. Let's go to
the phone line. Who this iswhere you call him from? This?
Shant it from the west side.Well, I think the brother should just
shop it up and just to takecare of the food. If the show
is my kids, it doesn't matter. He loved the chaln. You just
wanted to be the father. It'snot like you can beat the town up.

(14:13):
Can we end up and say, hey, man, take care of
your child. So I think heshould just a little the town and don't
and don't little the turn it depictsup. When you look for stuff,
you're gonna find it. Wow,man, I am really shocked at a
lot of these asses today, y'all. I honestly just think she was on
the other foot and the guy hadstopped out. I don't know if the
ladies have had the same reaction. But okay, all right, that's what

(14:35):
he called GC. I what up? How you doing? Doc? All
right? Who this is where youcall him from? This Kimberly from the
south side. Okay, Kimberly fromthe south side. What should this brother
do? Well? I think heshould just write it out. He loved
him. It was a he supposedto for gave her a year ago.
Yeah, the kid do look likemaybe look like him, but that's just
a memory he just gotta put down, Okay, all right, who they

(15:01):
are one to day. Man,I don't know. I'm just gonna be
honest with you. I don't knowif if that was if I was in
that situation and it was really botheringme, I would want to at least
know the truth. I'm not sayingI would leave my woman or stop taking
care of the child, but Iwould need to know for my sanity because
if I don't know how I would, that would bother me, that would
keep bothering me all the time. And if it wasn't you know, if

(15:22):
it wasn't mine, it came outto be true, I have to deal
with that, and I probably wouldmove forward and continue to raise the child
because you know, we have abond and we've been you know, I've
been raising them for the last fouryears and my homie years did so it's
not like I can go tell him, you know, raising But outside of
that, man, I have toknow. I gotta know. I'm one
of them people that got to know. You're a good man. You're a
very good man, and I applaudyou because if I have to know,

(15:45):
and I found out that he's notmine, I would love him from afar.
I always be that and mentor himand talk to him. As far
as raising him the financial responsibility andall that. I'm not doing that,
and it would it would kind oftear me up even more with my woman
because at the end of the day, I don't put nothing past guys.
I don't put nothing past dudes. But you, being my lady, you're

(16:08):
supposed to be my rock. Ishould never have to well, I should
never have to worry about anything. So at the end of the day,
key gone, ain't nothing I cando about that. I could tell his
family, Hey, look y'all gota grandson. Y'all got somebody. Y'all
haven't forgave you haven't forgive your woman? Then I wouldn't would be tough.
It's not easy to forgive. Somebodytalks to the guy who has forgave him,
He said he forgave her. Shetold him he forgave, Well,

(16:30):
honestly didn't forgive her. If hewants to get a DNA test to find
out if the baby is his not, because if you if you forget,
see, I think we pick andchoose if we If I didn't forgave somebody
for something, nothing else matters. No, I can move forward. That's
why I can. Okay, Ican forgive you for that, but I
still want to know if the childis mine. I guess I can forgive

(16:51):
you for cheating, but I wantto know if the child is We look
at it. I guess what we'relooking at it. Two different ways.
If I didn't forgave you, I'mmoving forward. It's done, it's over.
I don't care about nothing else.If I didn't forgave you, if
I still have doubts, and Ican forgive you for cheating on me,
but if I still want to knowwho the child is, two different things.
But no, if I didn't forgaveyou, what doesn't matter because I

(17:14):
want to know if that's my biologicalSo if you find out it's your biological
son, It's just like I tellpeople about going through the phone. You
go through the phone and find something, are you leaving? That's what I'm
saying. Why go through the phone? So why go through the phone.
I probably wouldn't leave if I forgavethem. But if it's eating me.
Up to the point where he wroteus a letter, he said the guy
was a good dude. It's lovein three ways. It's love from the
child he loved, he loved hisbest friend, and he loved a girl.

(17:37):
Okay, but it's still bothering himbecause he just hit us up about
it. And what I'm saying,I'll say it again. If if I
go through somebody's phone and I findsomething and I don't leave, what was
the purpose of going through the phone. So I might as well keep on,
keep on on. If I didn'tforgave, keep on trucking. But
if I gotta know, I obviouslyyou got something in my heart about it.

(18:00):
Okay, Yeah, all right, man, we appreciate your calling.
Brother. Keep us posted on that. Man, you know what I'm saying.
Maybe sure you grow up to bethe next Lebron James. You have
to be a story. We hopefullyhelped you. But if we didn't never
do Alright, this that time ofthe day that everybody loves, one person's

(18:21):
gonna be absolutely pissed. Is Leon'sgoofy Ask person on the day and listen.
If you don't like your job,if you feel you're gonna do something
crazy to lose your job, don'tdo the job. Don't come to work.
You don't feel like working. Yougot attitude. People just don't come
to work because when you have attitude, it could lead you to go into
jail, like this Popeye's employee innortheast Harris County. They are arrested and

(18:45):
being accused of running in the Firstof all, you running a legal drug
business out of restaurant's bathroom. Okay, so people come in and ask for
a two piece spicy. They ain'ttalking about the winds, okay, they're
talking about little bumper cocaine. Butthe employee was allegedly selling drugs through the
drive through and got into a fightwith a customer during a suspected drug deal.

(19:07):
Now, you supposed to be working, handing them they soulda and they
nuggets, they spicing up. What'sthe wings we like from that? Oh?
You know, I like the hideand spice. And you're supposed to
be getting on them in their garlicfries, but you're handing them an eight
ball. Well during the altercation,Uh, the altercation spilled into the restaurant

(19:29):
lobby and guess what the employee did, fire a gun at the customer while
they tried to flee. Oh no, so the seventeen year employee was taking
in the customer and charged with deadlyconduct on lawful carry and tampering with evidence.
And it took place during the dinnerrush, the most popular time of
the day for Popeye. So theyget this three piece spicy and this biscuit
on blowing at you. Take thaton the way out, Floyd having mercy

(19:55):
like, just why don't you justset up the trap house? Man?
Why you gotta mess up the chickenspot? What your drug deal? I
come through to get some garlic friedWe are the fries. What we got,
we got bullets. That's why twelvepiece WACKA BLACKA BLACKA blacka black.
Now you're gonna go to jail wherethe chicken is not as good. So
at the end of the day tothis employee out there, and they're seventeen,
so of course they are considered aminor. They haven't given out their

(20:18):
name. But you're gonna sit downfor a while. You're gonna wish you
had that Popeye job. Man,sit your good fast down. Let's jump

actually post him on her Instagram aswell. She posted a picture, but
she didn't post his face. Sheposted to their feet and his house arrest

(22:10):
honest with us. Yes, soshe hasn't been in the past couple of
weeks. Yes, a half.I don't know why you don't today.
It's about something that happened to youin your childhood that still affects you to
this day. Yeah. It doesn'tnecessarily have to be some heavy or traumatic,
just something that just a that throwsyou off right now, Just just

My father was the Boy Scouts leader. One day we went on a hiking
trail. So you think this isa simple hiking trail, but no,
okay, he ends up taking uson the advanced course. Yes, I
am seven years old and we ain'tgot no stuff. We don't have nothing

(24:29):
to climb the stuff, grappling, hood grappling nothing. You've got ten seven
year olds on the advanced level.I'm on the edge of clips but with
no equipment. It was just us, and I knew. I was like,
man, this is a long route. That man, I was scared
to death. I feel like Iwas about to die. Now, now
how does that affect you? Now? You don't like climbing stuff. I

(24:51):
don't like hikes. I don't likeclimbing stuff. And if I go on
vacation, ain't gonna go on excursions. I'm cool soon where para selling?
Where it take you up. Never. I won't do para selling. I
have done zipline and didn't enjoy itat all. Wow, I did it.
I've done it twice, but Ijust you know, people be like,
oh, you know what you did. We're having a good time.
No. I hated every year secondI was up there. Actually, yes,

(25:14):
So that's how it's affected me inlike large bodies of water and rocks.
Scared. Oh wow, yeah,so you could never go on the
cruise. Man. My brother's tryingto go on the cruise for his birthday
and I'm thinking about facing that.I'm thinking about facing that fear this this
coming up year. But I'm stillscared. I don't know. I can't
do it. I went on myfirst cruise two years ago. I've never

(25:34):
been on the cruise. Did youWhen you get out there on that water,
you really see how small and insignificantyou are compared to the world.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.Man's cruise ship at six six, eight,
eight, five, one oh seventyfive. Let us know, man,
hit us up. What's something thathappened to you in childhood that affects
you to this day. So thisis what you call it from from the

(25:56):
south tem me from the south side. What's something that happened to you in
your childhood that still affects you tothis day. Growing up, we used
to go through a lot of theblack rodeos and I am tremendously scared of
little people now. And it's onlythe black middu Wait great, I don't
want to laugh. So only theblack little people creep you out. Yes,

(26:21):

constructives and stuff, and oh mygod, we gotta be all the way
at the top and you know whenthey'd be coming through the ass and stuff.
Yeah, oh lord, I craneI clean. Is so bad?
And why Mama still to this day, just laughed at me, and I
asked her, Mama, what happens? You say? I don't know.

(26:41):
So a Caucasian a little person isn'tscared of you. No, it is
so weird, that's fun, that'scrazy. It's only us, It's only
us. I don't know what ithappened, but I know we used to
go to a lot of those blackrodeos growing up. I thank you GC.
What up all right? Speak onit? What's something that happened in

(27:03):
your childhood that still kind of affectsyou to this day. Oh, it's
not necessarily something that happened to me, but I watched my uncle play women,
so it affects my abilities to trunkmen. M So your uncle is
a player. Yeah, he wasa big player. Huge players call a

(27:29):
young uncle. So now that youcan, you can't open up the men
because you saw what your uncle wasdoing to women. I could say,
I find it, my uncle.Oh so you a pimp? I like
that. What's your name again? All right? Uncle? Uncle turns out

(27:56):
of I think this is where youcall from. Basically show I'm talking somewhat
side. He's running the west side. Uh. What's something that happened in
your childhood that still affects you tothis day. Being around balloons? One
like, when I was growing up, I went to one of my cousins,
say each other, and they wereplaying this game where you put the

(28:19):
balloon in your stomach and somebody walkingaround with a feeling. You don't know
who got this here, but eventuallyeverybody balloon started being caught, and somebody
did man being you know, playingbecause I was the youngest in the room,
they popped my balloon. And ithit my skin. Every single being
i've been forget a balloon. Ohwow. Also the balloon popped on your

(28:40):
skin and hurt you. Yeah,so you got still you got PTSD with

Thank you? All right, man, that's kind of great. We
didn't heard balloons. What else weheard? Black little people? Black little
people can't I was right there, probably the worst one. Yeah, you
know, I actually kind of likelittle people. I mean, I've seen

com on all social media platform yourvoice Zach book and uh, it is
that time for the prayer of theday. Today we will be preaching out

(29:48):
for the Book of ludicrous a man. All right, and can you please
put the song you hear that?Did you hear that? Yeah? It

(30:11):
is? That's That's a way. What the Lord is telling us through ludicrous
is that is a way that youcan live your life. You know what
I'm saying, You need to rollout. What the first thing you need
to do is roll out of whatbed. Okay, roll out of bed
and have that spirit of God onyour heart. All right. Also,
what he says in that song,it's not in the clip, but he

(30:33):
says, my business, my businessstayed up about my business. So what
is that that's telling you? It'stelling you to keep your business to yourself,
all right. This is essential toyour personal growth. Remember when life
gets tricky, you know what I'msaying, You must roll with the punches.
You see what I did that? You roll out with the punches.

(30:53):
You know what I'm saying. Youroll with the difficulties that they come.
You even roll with the good things. A man, and you must roll
out. You might roll out andshout a man, and you might roll
out and dance, look at yourneighbor and say, roll out, roll
out, and the play it onemore time, right so that you can't

(31:30):
stop that. Did you hear howyou said a man another thing that you
can't stop is the Lord. Amen. So this we ask in your name.
Amen. Amen, man listen, special guests in the building today and
I love this brother to death.Man. My boy boy Jeniors reached out
to me. You all make noms. Ruben Quintetta, my guy reached

(31:52):
out to me. It's like Leon, We're doing this thing. It's called
the City of Big Dreams, andwe really want to get the message out
there because a lot of kids arehaving mental issues in school and the arts
are a big part of that thatcan help them without that. So today
we have a very talented individual that'scalled She's smarter than all of us.
Priya Sha, how you doing today? I'm good? All right? So

(32:14):
tell us about the City of BigDreams and what's the goal of you guys,
fundraise or what are you are exactlytrying to do. This is where
we unite the Chicago artists community toreally celebrate the simple good of Chicago.
So we got rappers, painters, live artists, poets, dancers, everybody
have a short set on their meaningof the simple good to really benefit our
youth here in Chicago. Awesome.Do you do you have any success stories

(32:36):
to share? With us from peoplewho you know, attended the City of
Big Dreams or people who've been aparty who let me, let me kick
that out over to our artists, because these these amazing individuals have been a
part of this event since the jump, and here they are still today,
a decade into this event, andI think they should speak to that.
Yeah, boy, genius checking incan be checking in, Yeah, checking

(32:57):
in. Yeah. I don't knowabout a success story lyon, but I
think in a matter of just overallvalue, we've been able to find our
value through participating in events like CityBig Dreams because they respect us. They
show us how to be, youknow, artists, and how to present
our art in a more fine tunedfashion, like we have this much time
to perform and we want to beable to be on point, right.
So I love that we're able tocommunicate with each other. And you're right,

(33:20):
it is tough to gather up,but we're here. Yea in the
morning, we were waiting downstairs andwe were here. So no, I'm
so proud to be a part ofthis as an artist as well. You
I mean, you're no stranger tothis man, because I've watched the work
that you put in, especially withthe Timbuck two Foundation recipes. To our
brother Timbuck two guests here, Iwant to get back to you real quick.
Can you explain to me and Layman'sterms. I'm just somebody that's new,

(33:44):
you know, I'm new to thisproblem. How do the arts and
mental health correlate to keep kids likeoff the streets and give them a better
perspective? One? Yeah, Soour program is really unique because we tie
mindfulness and social emotional learning into thearts process with different schools and nonprofits.
So we work both in school andafter school to deliver a very intentional arts

(34:06):
program that's challenging our kids to findthe simple good that's within us and around
us, to feel positive activism inthe community, and that's really how you
feel resilience, right, is finein those small everyday moments of hope that
really does exist around us, tofind positive outcomes, have better self awareness
and social awarness to make positive decisions, and that's what really supports our mental

(34:27):
health, right and being very selfaware of what are these negative outcomes that
could happen based on a small decisionthat I make, And that's how we
support our kids. Awesome. What'sthe age range. What do you what's
what's kids? Certain focus on thepost office. They might be right,

(34:52):
but what do you think, say, would be the ideal age range of
the kids that are involved in this? So we serve everywhere from kindergarten into
twelfth grade. Okay, so wherecan people find more information on this?
Give me a website? How canpeople be down? Yes, it just
goes to the Simple Good dot org. We're always looking for more community partners,
school partners to bring our program todifferent communities across Chicago. Annually,

(35:14):
we serve a thousand youth and we'rehere to support as many youth as we
can. September twenty eight, we'rethrowing an event at the chop Shop.
