Speaker 1 (00:00):
I guess this is Chris Jensen. I hope it is.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah, right on time too.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
I'm telling you what, man, don't keep nobody waiting.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Do you the idea of doing a concert after a
hockey game?

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I don't know. If we can sell that much.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Beer, it's gonna be pretty awesome. Actually, I mean I
was at the questionable when they first asked me, do
you want to come play this thing? And I was.
Then I looked at it, I said, yeah, I think
that would go together really well. I mean, my crowd
is generally a cold beer drinking, redneck having fun kind
of audience, and I mean we're talking about American hockey here,

(00:37):
so I'd say that's pretty dang patriotic. I think it's
going to be a fantastic time, So sure, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yes, it is a good crowd, the folks who show
up for the swamp Rabbits to support the team, big
country music fans as well, and we just were thrilled
with the whole idea.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
How did that all come together? Is it your tour
put that together?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
That's honestly don't know, No, I don't know. The agency
called and said I have this unique opportunity. You know. Basically,
I guess to Kelly, my wife, would Chris like to
do it? And she granted by me, and I said, sure,
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Kelly, your wife is your manager.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
How she get that gear? I asked her and kind
of told her at the same time in a nice way,
like it. You know, when buy Me a Boat was
was just hitting before it was number one. You know,
we were you know, we released that independently, so we
were I was completely independent and and everybody was, you know,
trying to sign me or whatever because of that. And uh,

(01:34):
I just said to her, I said, well, I'm not
doing this if you're not managing the situation and being
on the forefront with me and just being the basically
the boss of the whole thing. And uh she pretty
quickly said yeah, cool, and then we'll just figure it out.
And it's worked really good ever since. I mean, she's
the number one person in my life that I trust

(01:56):
more than anybody. So I just if if he were
and out put it this way, if she were not involved,
even today, then I would not be doing this period.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
You both are doing your jobs extremely well. Let's put
it that way.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
She's doing a wonderful job managing you.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
You're doing a great job making music, You're a fun
follow on social media.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
You did buy the boat, I say, what kind of
boat is it? You got? Is at a new purchase
or you've got a pro.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
That Kelly saw this how a few years ago, she
said I got to have this. You know, she's never
said that before ever. She's very super unpretentious, not that
kind of person, and I've never heard of said that before.
So I bought it right then. I want it fully furnished,
and I want the boat outside on the lift with it.
I made this video kind of kidding around going Everybody
asked if I've if I bought a boat, Well I did,

(02:42):
I did, and I don't recommend it. I was just
I was just I was just kidding around because what
I'm trying to say, have you ever seen those bumper
stickers that are like Florida's awful, don't ever come here?
So that's kind of what I was getting at, you know.
But I'm not really a boter kind of guy, you know,
to the full extent. But I have a good time
on it, and it was kind of cool how it
came together.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
We do a feature on our show Are We Now?
And again with the Nellis Bradley listeners called frugal or cheap,
And we just happen to think about that song you're
putting out called cheap, and it's beautifully written. Tell folks
what the idea behind the song is.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Yeah, time makes money look cheap. We only get so
many sun sets thinking outside your door, We only get
so much time on this earth, basically, and and really
and really, when you really start to think about it
in a in a serious manner, man, life goes so quick.
Like I lost my best I lost one of my
best friends on Christmas Day this year, Like that was
a perfect example of how quick life goes by, and

(03:37):
you just don't even realize it. You don't even realize it,
and then you know, you wake up one day and
it's gone, or you don't wake up. And and the
time we hear that were here on earth, man, there's
no amount of money that could purchase that back. There's
no amount of money that could purchase those moments. And
and so time makes money look cheap with a very

(03:57):
true sentiment and very true story that that we wrote
and that I wanted to release. And I love the video,
I love the song, very special song to me, by
the way, and beautiful.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
It gives good perspective, is to say, you know, instead
of wishing your life away on riches, how about the
value that you have with the time with the ones
you love. And that's something that money cannot buy. So
good on you for coming up with that. We're talking
with Chris Jansen, by the way, who kicks off his
amazing tour which is going to go Greenville. Then you
move on to Charles and then points all over the

(04:28):
map and it's wonderful having your back out on the
road again.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
But you're kicking it off with.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
A Greenville swamp Rabbits post game concert.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Looking forward to doing it. I mean this will be
a first. I mean, I think it's an interesting concept.
Like you said earlier, I mean it's kind of cool.
You know, if you get the best of both worlds
and in one night, and plus you get a bunch
of songs you can sing along with, it would be fun. So,
you know, for people out there who love buying me
a boat, we'll do that one. For people out there
who love fix the drink and good vibes and done,

(04:57):
and all I need is you and what you see
is what you g and Drunk Girl and all those things.
We're going to do them all and just hey, we'll
just have a good time. We aim to please and
have a good time and treat people with the respect
and expect it back and just celebrate happiness, you know,
for a little while, and it'll be great.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I just to say thank you for the great music
you've done, for all the great songs you have to come,
and for kicking off your tour with us on Saturday
night after the swamp Rabbits game. We look forward to
a big night with the swamp Rabbits and the one
and only Chris Jansen.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Well, thank you very much. I'm looking forward to it
and I appreciate you guys having me on to talk
about it, and we'll look forward to seeing everybody at
the show.
