Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, whistle Land, it's time for Ellison Bradley's Float
them or flush.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Up, flush floating.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Him.
Speaker 4 (00:12):
Here's Ellison Bradley with this morning's float him or flush
him letter. Something different. On this week's episode, we actually
got a call from a nice guy named Ben out
of Greenville who's got a bit of an issue with
his girlfriend. And here's what he said.
Speaker 5 (00:25):
Hey, there, So I've been dating this girl for like
six weeks now, Like things have been going really good,
Like we text all the time, we go out. She's fun,
she's nice, she's caring. But then the other day, totally
out of the blue, she asked me if she could
borrow a thousand bucks, and like I just kind of froze,
Like that's a lot for someone I'm still getting to know, right,
(00:48):
Like I didn't know what to say in the moment.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Wow, six weeks and already hitting you up for four figures, buddy,
that's a bold move.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Like, here's the thing.
She's not like very responsible with money. She's got an
average job, she's in debt with student loans, and like
she's always talking about how bills stress her out. I
already knew she was kind of bad with money, but
this just made me nervous. Like, I don't know. I mean,
if I loan her the cash, is it just gonna
(01:19):
be the first of a bunch of times she asks?
And like, if I say no, it might be like
me basically ending things before they even really start.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Your friends, that's the one thing that ask for a
thousand dollars to hold.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
A level totally totally. So now I'm just like completely torn,
Like I don't want her to think I don't care
about her, but I also don't want to be the
guy who gets used for money, and like I don't
even know if she'd pay me back. Honestly, I kind
of feel guilty for even thinking this way, but it
just seems like a huge red flag. I don't know,
(01:54):
I just don't know how to say no without like
blowing up the whole relationship.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
Yeah, my tam is immediately, I'm sorry, but I had
that happened to me many years ago, that somebody started
asking me for money very early on in the relationship
and it did not work out. And unless he has
unlimited supplies of cash, he's in for a tough ride.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Sounded like a very sweet guy, and I understand where
he's coming from. But yeah, four weeks into that, I'm
a single female. I would never never ask anybody for
money like that. Yeah, yeah, flush, I'm definitely flusher.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Because it's not a good sign.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I hear grown up.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
It's not a good sign. You shouldn't loan money to
people like that.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
What's your name? Oh, okay, Mason, this is Mason on
the phone. Listen, Mason. If your girlfriend comes to you
at school this morning, I asked to borrow lunch money.
What are you going to say?
Speaker 1 (03:03):
He sounds like a romio may use it to her.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Oh, he should definitely flush it.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
She's already said that Bill stress her out and he's
just gonna turn into one more bill.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I don't wanna avoid him because I owe him money,
so I'm not gonna come back around. That's a good point, sir, I.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Say, flush the whole package, start over and find him somebody.
He sounds like he's got too boit of a heart
to be dealing with something like this.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Very sweet. Somebody else said that too, that he sounded
really sweet, like a good guy.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah, and if he's even considering it, and it's upsetting
in this bad to even be considering that. You can
tell he's a good person, but he needs to flush
the whole package and start over.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
You were very wise. This isn't Ben's mamma, is it?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:49):
But I could be. I'm old enough to be, so
I've got experience. I know where he's going from.
Speaker 6 (03:58):
I've gotta see Ben. Tell your girl if you're not
gonna caugh up the cash, I've got a thousand bucks.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Really like they're big on her?
Speaker 6 (04:09):
Now, Oh god.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
He do, honey about that's about what becomes though.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
Right her money, he should run like boot scoot and
boogie run. Twenty dollars is one thing, but one thousand
dollars is a whole different ball game. And she's already
made it known that she's bad with money and has
debt with other things, so she's obviously not gonna pay
him back, and she's using him for that.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
You brought up a great point. Her one thousand dollars
is her entry into this. So this role does not
understand the value of money, because you don't go to
someone and start at one thousand dollars. You've known for
four weeks.
Speaker 7 (04:51):
And for some reason he did it and they carry
on this relationship.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
He's got a thing.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
All of that debt that she's got is gonna eventually
be his.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
So like, thank God to Google wasn't around when I
met Mike. He looked me up and be like, oh, I'm
out waken up with.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Alice and Bradley and the more Dad.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
We can be so happy together.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
I'm sorry, we're so thee handad
