ladies and gentlemen to the Fantasy Baseball Hey, guys, are

(00:43):
you at the bottom of your league, ashamed of your
small d as account because your topics what will make
the girls go? Na bro? Then listen to the Fantasy
Baseball Hour with Matt Striker and Mike the Rhodo Cops
and turn your war into a floor. Hello everybody, and
welcome to the Fantasy Baseball Hour. I am At Striker

(01:04):
and joining me in the box below like we are
an episode of The Brady Bunch. Is the one and
only Mike the Rhodocop. Mike, what's going on man? Not much,
just another crazy day of baseball, another crazy day in sports. Matt,
you better watch behind you because seven title is now
for grabs. You don't know what's coming behind you these days.
Huh yeah, No, I'm good man, I'm all good. On

(01:25):
getting pinned for a title, someone would have to I'd
have to be the champion for them to want to
pin me. And I am not the champion. But what
I am on the verge of being a champion is
is in five of the seven leagues I'm in, I'm
in first or second place. That's in the money. And
I have been pounding the waiver wire for the past
couple of days with all of the uh, the call

(01:47):
ups and everything. A lot of people had to try
to make roster space and there's a lot of great
stuff out there on the waiver wire. Um, how are
you doing on your team's over the weekend? My teams
are doing all right. I um hopefully in John Carlos
to and back soon, like I like we talked about
on the show on What's Today? I don't even know
what today is anyone. Yeah, So we talked about staying

(02:08):
coming back. He seems to be on the right track
and we Turner back now turn has been hitting since
he's been back, so that's another good sign. So hopefully
things are looking up. Yeah, So waiver wires and a
lot of my leagues have been pretty good. I mean,
there are guys like Corbyn Martin on there and for
the most part. Again, I think if you want a
good picture, then he would be a guy that you

(02:29):
should probably have already owned him. But I want to
stay in Houston. A guy that I've been toying with,
I haven't picked him up yet. I wanted to ask
you on the air. Uh, Ryan Pressley, He's he's wonderful
for my ratios, but the only problem is that he
will take up an our pace slot and that means
I wouldn't be able to use a closer box. Yeah,
I think he's totally worth it. If you're gonna do
that with a guy this year, it will be Ryan Pressley.

(02:52):
Twenty one innings. He hasn't given up a run yet
this season. His scoreless inning streak is out like something insane.
Even I know you're a big FI guy in a
big X hip. Guys fits even under a one his uh,
nobody hits him, So you can't only take his one
eighty babbit. Uh one eighty babbit really too serious because
he doesn't even give up the ball and play. But
his case p nine's over at nine, He's been great

(03:14):
and he even does have two saves this year. So
on days that Osuna's overworked and it is an available,
Pressy will come in because he's a he's a solid
eightenning guy there. Yeah, Ryan Pressley is having some year.
So here's another guy. A couple of weeks ago. I
picked him up and I stashed him in a d
L spot and it looks like he'll be ready to
come around, and that's Jimmy Nelson. If Jimmy Nelson is
out on the wire, should people grab him for some

(03:36):
pitching help? Oh for sure. I saw a lot of
a lot of tweets from the industry guys about Jimmy Nelson,
just kind of reminding everybody that that he's available, and
he's there or he could be available. I should say,
his um his Yahoo percentage owned right now is only
a So you definitely be able to get Jimmy Nelson
if if you get there fast enough. He's recovering from

(03:57):
that right shoulder injury. There's surgery, I should say, but uh,
he looked good in in a what as the rehab
starts that he had. I think he had one or
maybe more than one At this point, I'm not even
too sure, but yeah, I've read a lot of good
things about him. Yeah, so those are some guys that
I've been looking at. How about you on the waiver wire?
C J. Crone Iscent owned, and I know we like

(04:19):
to typically do guys that are under forty percent ome,
but I was surprised that this he he has twelve
homers on the season, sitting to sixty three. In the
month of May, He's sitting three hundred seven homers and
fifteen RBIs. He was a guy I was touting all
off season. I thought his a D his a DP
was way too low for a guy coming off a
thirty home one season. But the peripherals are their exit.
Villo seventy five percent talx well by eighty four x

(04:42):
eighty nine. He's a prototypical power hitting first baseman right
on Paul with guys like Pete Alonso, Reese Hoskins, Anthony
Rizzos so far this year, and you really wouldn't think
that the way he started. So I think another thirty
home one season is feasible for him. I just wanted
to touch on my um. I thought it was pretty
funny my waiver wire ads for last week with guys
on thet on picked out Maydies Diaz who only had

(05:04):
three at bats for the week he had a hamstring injury,
Wilmore Flores who had six at baths of the week
he had a foot injury, and Spencer Turnbull got completely
badded by his infield. He went four writings one ear
in six kids. He ended up giving six runs in
that game, five of them undearned. So it was a
tough week from my waiver wires last week, not because
the guys struggled, because they were injured. So hopefully that's

(05:24):
a disclaimer. Hopefully it doesn't happen to the guys this week,
so we'll see what happens with My next to being
Logan Forsyth, who's thirteen percent on the Yahoo and he
plays all around the diamond and Fantasy first, second, short
and third. Thirty two years old, he's got three eighteen
with three homers and twenty two r b. I s
here's some crazy numbers on Logan Forsyth, and I thought
it was actually unbelievable when I saw myself. His walk

(05:46):
rate is at fourteen point four percent, lee averages eight
point nine. His O swing is at twelve point one percent,
which is absurd, and a spring strike er it's at
four point three percent, which was also a surd. Its
contacts up eighty six percent, league averages seventies six, and
he's killing right handed right hand to pitching hand three
thirty VERSU rieties. So proceed with caution because it's babbitt

(06:07):
is four hundred and his averages three eighteen. But other
than that logan force, he's putting up some crazy plate
discipline numbers this year, and I thought that was very interesting.
Is there anybody else look at you? You're such a
gym guy. You gotta drink your jug of big water like, oh,
I'm so, I gotta be hydrated. I'm not hydrated, have

(06:28):
dehydrated anyway? Right anyway? Gerard Dyson percent owned U three homers,
eleven r bids. Come on, you want to be This
wouldn't happen in the studio. Twelve stolen basis for Gerard Dyson.

(06:51):
That's third in the MLB. In the top twenty five
guys in sowing bases, only two of them are less
owned than Gerard Dyson. That's Larry Garcia and Danny santan
uh Um. I'm going to give you a trivia question
here if you could, uh kind of approximate what do
you do? Remember? Yeah, I got music, ask you a question.

(07:15):
I feel like the rocks gonna come out and just
started ragging on me. What do you think Gerard Dyson's
a DP was before the start of the season one
hundred and eighteen generaldus D eight seven. Oh man, I'm

(07:38):
walking with Elias right now. Billy Hamilton's was one fifty nine,
So it's pretty crazy to think that. And Dyson's walking more.
His w RC plus is above a hundred. He's making
a contact at a very high rate. He's not missing
many pitches, and I know most people out there needs
stolen basis, So if he's still out there, go grab
him twelve stolen basis with the with the two sixty

(07:58):
five average, you're not really gonna beat that. So I
think Tyson is definitely a good ad for some people. Nice.
So there's some good waiver wire ads for people out
there that are trying to get ahead of their leads,
trying to stay ahead of people that they desperately want
to beat because they have a personal vendetta against them.
I Tommy Dreamer, how are you I like to beat
you because I ate you. I hope you don't hear this.

(08:20):
I'm gonna have to play it so you do. Oh
my god. Um see, that's the thing I like to
tease a lot of people because it's funny. Girl styles.
Oh my god, it was that just a regular Oh
my god, that's so. Tommy and I used to travel
together all the time, and a lot of times you're driving,
it's very late at night, you're going two hundred someone
miles in some town you never been to, and things

(08:42):
would jump out in the road, and it usually him driving,
but either one of us, oh my god, oh my god, this,
Oh my god, that, or if like the Undertaker was coming,
oh my god there, because I was legitimately afraid of him,
and Tommy thought it was funny. Can you give me
a Joey Styles? Oh my god, Oh my god. Joey

(09:03):
is great. Joey actually does a cool thing. It's like
Twitter for stocks. I think it's like stock twitch or something.
I'll put a Joey Joey Styles link in here. Joey's fantastic.
He's one of the guys who was able to uh
parlay his success in wrestling to success in real life. Yeah,
he doesn't like you though. But here's the thing, here's
the reason Joey Style don't like you. Um, there's a

(09:26):
lot of people out there that here certain statistics and
they don't really know what they mean. And you'll hear
the guy next to you say, oh, yeah, Mike Trouts,
war is great, and you'll just repeat, yeah, war. What
is it good for? Absolutely nothing? But um, one of
the stats, the metrics that I really like is barrel.

(09:47):
You hear it a lot, Mike. Do you think barrel
is something that can help people in fantasy sports? Basically
for sure. I think it's very indicative of how real
a guy's season is, our what he's doing is. So
I think barrel is definitely something you should focus on
among a million other things. People could pick and choose
their favorites of what they like to what they like

(10:08):
to go by, but barrel rates are definitely something that
that interests me for sure. Yeah. So when I first
heard barrel, I heard it associated with a lot of
players that were ranking very high in offensive categories, and
I dove a little deeper, and basically, before anything is
we have to understand that guys are starting to create

(10:28):
the angle in which they want to hit the ball.
So instead of just being happy to get something to hit,
guys are now waiting for a pitch that falls into
what's called their launch angle so that they can hit
it at a certain angle to try to maximize the
potential for a home run or an extra basic What
do you think about launch angle, Mike? Uh, you know,

(10:49):
I'm all for it. And the way you described the
bower rate, I think is um a pretty good, pretty
good way to put it in Layman's terms, is the
optimal level of success for about a ball that's at
the perfect combination of launch angle and exit vila. So
after that explanation, it makes barrel barreling, if that's the
form of the word, a little easier for people to understand,

(11:11):
just if you want to get a little more into it.
It starts at ninety eight miles powering up in twenty
six degrees and up, so the more miles power on
and obviously the better the more degrees on it, the better.
Do you know what the best best hitters barrel percentage
usually is approximately No, the best hitters barrell doable about
ten percent of the time throughout the season. So I

(11:32):
thought that was an interesting little tidbit. And with all
this info, it tends to lead to good outcomes, and
that's why it's why it's fantasy relevant. And obviously the
less barrels of picture gives up so on and so on.
So I think launch angle, barrel eggsit VLO, these all
play in determining the future success of a player, especially
if it's a player that is going through a streak
that you might not have seen before. So yeah, so

(11:55):
I wanted to kind of deconstruct and just start with
launched angle because a lot of players are starting to
modify their swing so that they can get a maximum
launch angle. Then you couple it with exit velocity, and
that's another stat we hear a lot about. It's basically
how fast that that ball jump off his back. And
when you have a prime exit velocity that Mike said,

(12:17):
I think is what starts to nine and you have
a launch angle that's somewhere in thirty one or twenty
four to thirty three degrees, you really maximize your ability
as a hitter to have a positive batted ball event.
In this case, we're looking for home runs and extra
base hits. So I like to really clear out all

(12:38):
the babbit in the wOBA and the average and the
slug and then the oh be as, and I like
to kind of just if I want to look at
one thing, I look at barrel and that's gonna tell
me what this hitter can do. Mke Any closing though
on that offensive saver metrics. Yeah, I just wanted to
touch on these years the leaders for barreling, for hit

(12:59):
or and pictures. So the hitters right now, Jose Breakers
barrel balls, Freddie Freeman is twenty five, George Springer, Christian
Yellow twenty four. So those are the usual suspects, and
you've got guys like Josh Bell and Luke Voight who
are in the top ten who definitely have some naysayers
out there. So that's a that's pretty indicative of what
they're doing this season that they're in the top ten
of barrels, So that's something to keep an eye on it.

(13:21):
On the pitching side of things, you've got your usual
suspects in well, I don't know how usual these guys are,
but Luis Castillo, Mike Siroco who's having a fantastic season,
Max Freed who's having a great year, Charlie Morrin and
Frankie Mantas are also in the top five, so those
are a little more surprising than the hitting side of
things with Springer and Yellow's up there, but it's it's

(13:42):
definitely something to keep it on. These guys aren't giving
up hard hit contact and if everything soft, it's gonna
lead two good things, So good for them. Yeah, it's
a great breakdown on how one stack can tell you
about not only hitters, but pictures as well as Mike
outline there the barrel rate in the success of the
hitter against you know this particular picture. All these people
don't hit him, well all there has to be a

(14:04):
reason why, and I think we see it there with
the names you just listed. All Right, I like going
into the lab. I like telling telling your mother what
barrel means. That's funny. All right, Mike, Now is the
time for you and I to do that thing we
do where we run down the daily Fantasy slate the

(14:25):
next two days, and we are going to start it
with tomorrow tomorrow, which is Wednesday there to on the second,
there's a lot of dfs to play. Do you want
me to run down the slate? Do you want to
sing a show tune? What do you want to do.
I think I'll give you my hitter and then we'll

(14:45):
speak about a couple of pictures if that's okay with you.
So it's it's all what you want to do. It
has nothing to do with format or structures. Gentlemen. Shut up.
All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for Daily Fantasy.
Here's Mike the Rhodocops picks for Wednesday made twenty second
and why go Wednesday. I like Cattell Marte, and I
hate to give a chalk play because he probably will

(15:07):
be used a lot. He's six for eleven with two
homers against Eric Clower, but he is hitting two eighty
four with five home runs against lefties this season, and
he's always been a better hitter against lefties than righties.
He's just about league average and all his propheels, so
he's pretty much for real as far as laur goes.
He's three three pitch pitcher of four seam, cutter, curve, fast,

(15:27):
pall sits at ninety two, and he doesn't generate many
swinging strikes, so I think this is a good matchup
for Marte on the pitching side of things. The pitching
sides insane Tomorrow. You got shots are against the mess
the Ground against the Nationals, Garret Cole against the White Sox,
Max Freed against the Giants, Martin Perez against the Angels.
All these guys are gonna play and very well. You're

(15:48):
gonna get a return on investment for pretty much all
of them. So take your pick out of those guys.
I don't know who you like the best man. On
the pitching side of things. There are a few games
I want to get into, but first I want to
talk about the hitting. I like Justin Smoke, he's got
good numbers against Rick Porcello, He's got I think eight
extra base hits, five of them are gone for home runs.
I also like Josh Reddick to continue to stay hot,

(16:10):
to pick on Ivan Nova, who's got the great name,
but the don't think has done to be able to
do much against Josh Reddick. And in the pitching, I
was looking all the way down the slate. There's a
couple of games that jumped out at me. I like
Garrett Cole against Ivan Nova, the Astros against the Socks,
Martin Perez against Matt Harvey's intriguing. I think Matt Harvey

(16:31):
throws batting practice. But like Nuts Freed against Jeff some Marga,
I think it's another chance for Freed at six and
two at the two point eight six c r A
to get comfortable with his stuff. And it's in San Francisco,
so that can certainly help. So those are my hitters
and pitchers for May the twenty two. Let's turn the
page on the calendar, go to May the twenty three.
Michael Michael Motorcycle. What do you like? I like Kenji's

(16:54):
morales against Dylan Bundy sixth f e teen with two
homers in his career. It's crazy that the Yankees keep
find and these guys. He has four bis and fifteen
at bats for the Yankees as of today. He only
had seven r bis and a hundred and eight at
bats for days this season. So things are just going
the Yankees way this year. And he's he's a stack
cast hero like I like to say. He's exit Villos

(17:14):
eighty nine percentile, hard hit eighty four percential, so he's
been profiling very well. Dylan Bundy four seem change up
slider curve fans poblos down this year and already has
a negative seven pitch value and he has a six
point three six year eight against the Yankees, so I
don't think Dylan Bundy is gonna fair too well on Thursday.
As far as the pitching side, you've got two good

(17:36):
choices here. Um, Matt Boyd's at home against Miami and
Corbin Martin will probably be relatively cheap after his last
start he didn't get too many strikeouts. He's facing the
White Sox, so that might end up being a good
value play. Alright, my hitters for the twenty three if
he wakes his way into the lineup, I like Kevin
Pollard against Kevin Gosman. Is looking at these numbers, and

(17:56):
these numbers are got e. He's four nine keen against him,
actually thirteen hits. Things of this nature. Uh. And I
like Aaron Hicks. I think he's been swinging the bat well.
I have ownership in him, So I'm pulling for him
against Dylan King Kong Bundy. The pitching matchup, Uh, there's
quite a few. I like Jordan's Lyles at home against Colorado. Um,

(18:21):
I like big Bucks and I cannot lie. Uh Yeah,
maybe Bumgarner against Gaussman. But beyond that, that's what jumps
out at me for the Yeah, just a couple of
things I want to touch on. John Carlos stand was
scratched from the lineup today, so maybe he's not not
as quickly, not gonna be back as quickly as I

(18:43):
was hoping, or I thought he had tightness around his
calf and me Willie Calhoun was removed from the game
tonight with tightness in his left quad, and that's gonna
kill a bunch of guys in fantasy that's spent pretty
much a good portion of their fab on Billie Calhoun,
her mom, Marquez h Ning's tonight, Clint Frasier to home runs.
And I wanna leave off by saying I'm sorry about

(19:05):
telling you not to cut random Nemo because he's scheduled
to undergoing m R and his neck on Wednesday. I
don't listen to you. I caught him about twenty minutes
after I spoke to you, and he will probably find
his way in the minors at some point during the
season if he keeps playing the way he's playing. Chris
Davis with a K also headed to the injured list,
so that one, so I'm pretty excited. On Thursday morning,

(19:27):
I'll hop a flight to Las Vegas and get started
with the Double or Nothing extravaganza from the guys at
all Elite Wrestling Star cast going on. Um, are you
excited for this as a wrestling fan, I'm very excited
for this. I'm very excited. I'm very excited for that.
There's an alternative. That's what I'm excited most about. There's

(19:48):
an alternative. I don't have to keep watching the Monday
Night War we run on w W network over and
over and over again, where the old old episodes of
w c W before I go to sleep. So I'm
very excited it about this, to say the least. Hey, Mike,
can you share your WW network use your name and
password with everyone listening so we can all watch on
your network? No, absolutely not. Come on, don't be a jerk.

(20:12):
You know what, I'm actually sharing somebody else's so I
can't do that. Of course you are. It's like, do
you have your own Netflix? I don't watch that stuff though.
All I have is an MLB account. That's it, all right,
I get it. You like baseball, man, I get it. No. Actually,
my girl has a Hulu and I watched The Goldbergs
on that. It's the greatest show in the world. You

(20:36):
have Moron. It's awesome. The Goldbergs. Also, I saw that
US coming back a fool Uh what you mna call it?
What is it? All in the family and the Jeffersons
will be live on stage on ABC or something. Yeah,
a lot of people your age are excited about that.
I really don't get to get to the excitement for well,

(20:58):
being live. Being something live is very cool. I think
they only have a seven second delay, so don't overlook that.
And it's cool. I don't know. It's different Saturnit live
is live and it happens every week. This is true.
Thank you. Oh wait, before we go, I want to
let the listeners know that I tried getting Jeopardy champion

(21:18):
James holse hour on our show, but he politely declined.
All right, because you didn't because you didn't phrase your
request in the form of a question. I'm funny. That's funny, man. Oh,
I didn't tell you. You know you like this, you
like this. So Mike Babchick from Mad Do Sports Radio,

(21:42):
you remember he uh he called into the show and
then I wrestled him. You know he shipped his pants right, yeah,
a hundred percent he did. And now on June one
they are having They're like wrestle Con. It's like Falcon
and uh, Mike challenged me to a bar fight, said
Avaniero Blues, I think or something like that. But actually,

(22:03):
can we we can pull it up? All right, why
don't we do that? Let's pull it up. This is
the time that Mike Babchick from Mad Dog Sports Radio
called the show, acted all top, we had a match,
he shipped his pants, and now on June one, I'm
gonna show up at this bar where he's gonna be
pissed drunk. I want to see if I can make
him piss himself. Uh, we got it, all right, let's listen.

(22:23):
Here's the thrill that twin Mike Batch called the show
and then ship his pants. All right, what's up? You
are in the strike Zone with Matt Striker and Mike
the Rhodo Cap. What's your name? Where are you from?
What's your question? Hey? So Mike in New York? What's
going on? We're just talking about some position battles. We're

(22:44):
talking about the San Diego Padres, talking about the Mets
and the Yankees. What do you want to talk about? Yeah, look,
that's all great. You know in Mike Trout, you know,
you know, signing this thing here with the with the
twelve years and everything, and you know that's exciting. And Matt,
you know, you like to talk about baseball and everything,
which is good. You know, you're pretty good at the
base of stuff, which you know, it's probably the way
you need to head because the wrestling thing, I mean,

(23:04):
the wrestling that you gotta put that away. I mean,
that's gotta be over. I mean you've got maybe one
more match April five, wrestle, and then alright, alright, alright,
I know this is alright, folks. God, I'm sorry Mike.
So this is this is Mike bab Jake. He's a
co host of The Morning Men on Mad Dog Sports Radio.

(23:24):
I think it's like xm AD two and um god,
I can't believe I'm doing this. So Mike's been tweeting
at me this whole time, like like just giving me
a hard time. So finally I was just like, all right, man,
if you want to have a match, let's have a match.
And I didn't think you would respond, and stupidly enough,
he's like, yes, let's do it. So it's April five
that wrestle. Con it was supposed to be one on
one Mike, but then you went ahead and you got

(23:46):
what you got, Tommy Dreamer and Cole cabin involved. Like
I'm sitting next to Mike the rhodocop, I can have
New York's finest walk me out to the ring. And
and I'm sure we could do a background check on you.
I don't think you're clean, buddy, but we don't need
to do that. I mean, I mean, I like I
said before, I mean, you know, I was in a
former life. It was arrested four different times. But I'm

(24:08):
all growns up now, Okay, I'm a grade member of society.
I'm quite the citizen. I wanted to take you on
one on one as well. I was just talking to
a couple of people. They said, maybe you need some help.
Why don't you take Tommy Dreamer next thing? You know?
All right, fine, you get the best friends. So you
added plus one. So then I gotta bring in cold Cabana.
But I mean, look, I like the fact that you

(24:29):
are at least looking at a career after wrestling. You
do a hell of a job with the baseball. You
know more than baseball, but than I do, probably because
we all know, it's probably the most boring sports that
we have today. It's obviously needs some help. You gotta
put the pitch clock. What are we doing here? Put
a pitch clocking already, but still it's nice you do
your baseball after I take your ass on April five,

(24:51):
there'll be nothing left, so you could do the baseball. Hey, Mike,
it's Mike here. What's going on? Don't be friends with
I want to ask him a question. So I'm on
your Twitter. I know, I like it. I'm on your
Twitter right now, right, and you have the pin tweet
says I miss Atlanta and you're coming out dancing over
all these women. I don't know what you're doing here,
but I want to see this. I want to see
this on April five, when you come out to do
your your entrance. I want to see the same exact

(25:13):
dance moves in this video I Miss Atlanta video. Don't
worry about that, all right, I got I got a big,
big entrance plant. I'm gonna come out there. I'm gonna
be wearing my little onesie. I might have the stuff
