(00:21):
All right, it's Dr Rodo. Get out the insurance cards,
get out the cope. The office is open. My friends,
No Gray Albright. Today Gray is in Tampa at labor.
I'm very upset I'm not in labor this year. It's
my fault because of I didn't think I was gonna
be Uh. I don't know what was happening with me.
(00:42):
So I decided not to be able to not to
do labor because I didn't want to do a live draft.
So I ended up not being in labor this year.
I gotta get me back into labor next year. We'll
have to work on that. Talk to my friends Steve Gardner,
see if we can make that happen. But that is
the goal. But I wish him and everybody there much
luck and much success, and I hope it is a
great labor weekend. All right, Let's get to some news
(01:06):
and I'm gonna start with fantasy football. Oh yes, ESPN's
Jeff Darlington said Thursday, I'm now at the point where
I would be stunned if Tom Brady went back to
New England. Stunned. Specifically, Brady is currently operating into the
(01:30):
belief that he will end a free agency to play
somewhere other than New England next season, a sentiment the
quarterback has shared with others. Wow, that is pretty crazy.
Would you have ever thought of that? Would any of you,
anybody out there I've ever thought about that? Could you
(01:50):
have imagined? I guess you said the same thing about
Joe Montana and he was a chief. I just always
hated when guys like that, Brett Farve Viking, There's just
something wrong with that. But I told you this was
gonna happen. And Darlington goes on and says, the Titans,
Raiders and Chargers are the top three suitors. He's not
(02:10):
going to the Raiders and telling you that right now,
it's going to be the Titans, Chargers or Patriots. But man, think,
and if you're Bill Belichick, how many more years you
want to coach without Tom Brady? You want to start
all over? Jack Stillham, really you want to start your
(02:32):
whole it all over or all of a sudden Brady's gone.
Do you think Belichick stays around for much longer? I
don't know. Maybe Josh McDaniel is gonna be the head
coach too sweet, Just throwing that one out there for you.
So you know, we talked that that they haven't offered
him a contract. I mean, Robert Craft talking the millions
(02:55):
or off from whatever we need. You know, he's saying
the right things. Craft is saying the right things. But
is it going down the right place? I don't know.
I don't think so. Um there's reports that the Colts
and the Giants are interested in j Devin Clowney. Well,
(03:16):
we'll have to see. I know he wants to go
back to Seattle. That's first come, first serve. But we'll
Seattle sign him, will be give him the money. We
will have to see. The Chiefs are gonna franchise tag
Chris Jones. I we expected that right. There have Frank Clark,
they have Chris Jones. Chris Jones as young, he's really good.
Gotta pay him. We'll have to see how that unfolds.
(03:38):
But I want to cover something else here that I
think is very interesting and it's part of the c
b A agreement. So let me ask you this question.
If you said to your boss, I want more money,
(04:02):
I want better pension, I want maybe another day off
during the year, I want better health insurance. Right, you
want you want all the better. You want a better salary,
and you want better benefits. Okay. If you want better
salary and better benefits and you already think you're working
(04:23):
your butt off, okay, you already think you're working your
butt off, and he says to you, hey, I can
do that, but i'd like you to work two more
hours a day. Would you be good with that? If
you already thought you were doing everything you could so
instead of working from nine to five, you know how
(04:46):
to work from nine to seven. But he'll give you
those things. Would you feel good about that? Would you go, yeah,
let's do that deal, let's shake on that. I don't
think you would. And that's what the NFL is hoping
the players will do. Give us an extra game and
(05:07):
we'll give you the things you want. Seriously, I mean,
when we boil it down to it, that's what it is.
Would you sign that deal with your boss? Now, maybe
some of you would, Maybe some of you would say, hey,
I'd worked two hours more day that's two hours more
(05:28):
per day, per day, which is ten hours more per week.
So you're forty hour a week is now fifty hours
a week. But you are getting a little bit more
health insurance, you are getting a little bit more salary.
(05:49):
We are giving you a little bit more in your pension.
Right is that worth it to you? I don't know so,
Aaron raw Jers rights on Twitter. I voted no last night.
My decision to vote no is based off the conversations
I've had with the men in my locker room that
I'm tasked to represent. Right, this deal will affect every
(06:13):
player that ever plays this game, and we have made
the decision with the only abbreviated version of the deal,
and that isn't good enough. That's interesting. How about if
your employers said to you, Hey, you're gonna work two
hours more day. I'll give you more benefits, but I
won't tell you what those benefits are yet, but just
know you'll get them. Would you be good with that?
(06:36):
I don't think you would be. You'd say, let me
see it first, let me see it first. Although I
do see that there are many things in the proposal
that improve the lives and care for the past, present,
and future NFL players their issues with others. Sixteen games,
to me, was never something to be negotiated. The owners
(07:00):
have made it clear that the seventeen game is about
paying for the added benefits and had nothing to do
with positive feedback received about any extra risk involved with
any added regular season game. Right, So, I mean tell
(07:20):
me about that. Tell me you're gonna sign a deal
with your boss where you're gonna work more, but he's
not gonna tell you exactly what you're gonna get. You're
doing that, then you're a full too. Now, people, I've
told you, I love the I love Twitter. I love Twitter.
(07:44):
Here's what people responding. Why are you crying about one game?
Your all body can't take a few extra sacks of season?
This is what some guy writes. Alec Esposito twelve writes this, Alec,
you're a moron. I'm telling you straight up, You're a moron.
That's what you say. Garry uh something guy heroes Aaron.
(08:07):
Instead of typing on your phone, you should work on
your defense. Yeah, how can we even have a conversation?
Oh this other guy here, JR Gott What what kind
of world do we live in? What kind of world
(08:28):
do we live in now? This guy, Laura Rickardson says,
these people do don't play in the NFL, have no clue.
I totally understand how you feel. It's about taking care
of your body, not the money. There you go, oh.
Michael Sartell goes, oh, please, the money you make. You
should play forty games a year, I mean workload. Scooter
(08:56):
Scoot says, you have to be kidding. Yeah, these people
would sign bad deals in their lives too. If their
boss told them to work more, but we won't tell
you what you're gonna get for it, they would agree
(09:19):
to that. Who would do that? Just because he's a
football player doesn't mean he should sign a bad deal.
And if you don't want him making that kind of money,
don't go to the football games. Stop watching it on TV.
(09:41):
That's why these guys make so much money. If you
want football players to make no money, don't go to
the games, don't buy the tickets, don't buy the merch
don't buy stay away. Then they won't get paid as much.
It's simple, it is, it's simple. But to like to
(10:08):
see these responses, Corey Callahan says, soft, Seriously, Corey, why
don't you say that too rare and rogers face dude, Oh,
Michael Goes. If I got paid as much as these men,
one game more wouldn't be would wouldn't be a bother
for me? Seriously? What if that one game you got injured, dude,
(10:30):
and you couldn't play again? Wouldn't bother you? Then? So
tired people think it through. Stop being angry, just like
lighting up and think about what from their point of view,
they're worried about their lives. It's not just not the
cash to all right, taking a little break, coming back
(10:53):
fantasy baseball, all right? After this, I want to be

(11:39):
just happened in my uh tout Wars league. I want
to ask you what you would do here? All right,
so one of our guys, did you know we we
do our draft picks, right, some guy picked the wrong guy,
put the wrong guy in press the button. Would you
go to the commission and say give me the guy
(12:00):
I really wanted? Or would you just say, no, I
picked it. I'll just figure it out. No, I picked it,
I'll figure it out. No way, I would not do that.
Which would you not do? Confused? What would you do?
Would you call the commissioner and fix it and fix it?
Or did you keep the guy that you picked? All right?
So if I was the player, yes, I probably would
(12:23):
try to complain. But if I was the player that
did not pick it, I would complain if the commissioner
changed it. You know what I mean. I'm asking you.
You're the player, you picked the wrong It happened before.
It's happened before with drafts. Go right to the guy
and do that. You have to look, I picked the
wrong d d as, No, you can't do that. Come on,
(12:46):
I'm just asking you. Look, I'm not asking you. I
would not. Doug Anderson, the Rhodo Daddy, made the right
He goes he picked the wrong guy and Mike Florio said, hey,
you want to bag uh want to back it out?
And then Doug goes, I'd say, just go ahead and
pick I'm so good I can beat you guys at
(13:06):
forty nine places instead of fifty. That was pretty funny
that I appreciate that. And then this other guy goes,
just let Toddzola know because he's the commissioner, and he'll
make the change and he has to move all these
players anyway over from fan tracks to the site we use.
And then Grurodo Daddy says, I'll just swap someone out
after the draft is over, so my stupidity does not
(13:29):
snipe anyone. There. You go see exactly, And I wrote
stand up moved by the Roado Daddy. I like that, right,
because if you go and you make the mistake, tell
him he made the mistake. But at the end of
the draft, you want to change it, I'm cool with that.
You change it. Now you're gonna pick some people off.
(13:50):
I thought that was a really stand up move. That's
doing the right thing. I was trying, you know, I
think trying to decide what I would do if I
pressed the wrong button. What's happened to me before? Not
that I pressed the wrong button. But you have somebody
in Q and then you run out of your time.
You're either working because I've been at work doing these drafts,
(14:12):
and you just get back to it too late and
you're like, no, I did not want to put that
guy on, you know, like it happens before. Yeah, I've
never done that. I've never done that, to be honest,
I've put Let let's say if I put the wrong
you know, let's say d Rodriguez and I'm like, oh,
I wanted Devin Rodriguez instead of Damon Rodriguez, right or
something like that, And you know, then it'd be like
(14:33):
if I think though, if you catch it before the
next person picks, I'm okay with that, right. If I
go immediately, oh dude, I picked the wrong guy. I'm
going to contact the commissioner. It's got to be at
that moment. It can't be twenty minutes later. What do
you What do you do at that point? So, if
(14:53):
you're the commissioner, you're like, okay, we'll grant you you're
the proper player. You stop the draft. I would probably
just say who was the guy that you wanted? And
then I would throw out you know Devin Rodriguez and
put in Damian you know, Darwins and Roger whatever. Have
to know not the draft that player because he's going correct, right, right, right,
And I would just say, look, he said he did
(15:14):
it before anything else happened. You know nobody. But if
one person picks, I don't know what I do at
that point. You know, one person picks is cool and
that everything pretty much. Yeah, yeah, it's kind of a
jerk move. And that does happen a lot of times.
We're in Vegas where people do that, and I hate that. Actually,
(15:35):
there was one thing that happened, and I don't know
if I never told you the story, So I don't
want to say the name, but let's just say it's
one of the top ten football fantasy football players in
the world. We're in a draft and he forgets to
take that's right, and he forgets to take a care
and he says in the draft room, I was watching
(15:57):
this football game. I didn't realize I didn't the kicker,
I didn't take one. Well, what would you have done
if you were the commissioner? Would you let him say
that's so sad? Exactly? So I wrote the commissioner immediately
I texted him off off line if you will, and
I said, there's no way you can let this guy
get a kicker you if he's not paying attention em Yeah, yeah,
(16:23):
right now. Look, and I like the guy is a
good guy. It has nothing to do with that. But
once you start doing that, man, you're opening up a
door bad things. Can't do that slippery slope. Yeah, I
mean people are counting on you. You know, you gotta
be transparent if he goes. I was watching the game.
I didn't realize the need of a kicker. I don't
care for You're one of the top five fantasy pull
(16:43):
players in the world. Now, I give the guy credit
for one thing, though she's a good player. At least
he at least he was honest about why he needed,
you know how. Some people could have said, oh, my
computer malfunction. Yeah, I had an emergency with my wife
for you know, like people my internet went out something
like that. He could allied, right, So I give him
(17:05):
credit for at least being honest. So what happened in
the end, he had to drive. He had to cut
the guy week one and pick up a kicker. So
week one he did not have a kicker, right, there's
the right thing to do. So I do think that
it was the I'm very impressed with the Rhodo daddy here.
He did the right thing. He didn't affect our draft,
but I'm proud of it. All Right, let's take a
(17:28):
look at some fantasy baseball news, and there is much
news to be said. Man, there are so many injuries.
Two pictures that you just want to draft your pictures
and pray, pray that they stay healthy. Because Griffin Canning,
(17:54):
one of the top young pictures in baseball, has been
sent for an m r I and his right elbow. Right.
Canny pitched pretty well on Wednesday. But now, if you're
an Angel fan, you're sitting there going, oh, no, seriously,
are we gonna lose Canning too? Because you don't want
(18:14):
to be losing him. Otani is not healthy. Canny is
not healthy. I mean, when you're lying on Andrew Heeny,
who you know you're in trouble because Andrew he had
been healthy. Ever we're praying to get a hundred innings.
Thank god you brought over Dylan Bundy. Dylan Bundy might
(18:36):
be your anchor. That's how bad it is. Yeah, that's
not good. It's kind of scary, all right, Brandon Nemo
is going in for another heart related test, uh for
more are additional cardiac screening. So our thoughts and prayers
(18:56):
are with him. Let us hope that it is nothing.
Let us hope he can turned back to the Mets.
We never want to hear something like this, all right.
Jimmy Nelson didn't feel very good at his bullpen session
shut down. Do you remember when Jimmy Nelson was actually good?
I do remember. We all liked Jimmy Nelson. He was
(19:19):
at the Brewers kind of liked him. He was a
pretty solid picture. And then things just started to get ugly, right,
just another setback. And let's see, his last was his
last good year, a whip hud strikeouts. Will we ever
(19:46):
see that guy again? I don't. I don't know. If
I had a bet, i'd bet unknown. But you know,
the Dodgers are so deep. What's incredible about the Dodgers
is they weren't rely on Jimmy Nelson and they weren't
even relying on Dustin May, who hasn't thrown basically since
(20:07):
the beginning of camp. So they don't have Dustin May.
They don't have Jimmy Nelson, but they still have Kershaw,
they still have Walker Bueller, they still have David Price,
they still have julie're Urius, they still have Ross Stripling,
they still have Alex Wood. I mean, it's amazing. Most
other teams would be like in total disarray without Nelson
(20:28):
and May it's that have nothing. The Dodgers still have
six more guys who are who are ready to go
unreal haves and the have nots. Baseball is the haves
and the have nots. Crazy, absolutely crazy. All right, here's
(20:48):
an injury. I'm not. I'm not. I was worried about
I told you I was worried about it, and now
here we have it. Emmanuel Place has been diagnosed with
an upper backstrain. Is expected to miss eight to twelve
weeks right now. This was the guy who the Indians
(21:09):
brought in the Corey Kluber deal. He was the guy
that was meant to be the future closer. So I'm
just telling you that the way I saw it going
down was that Brad mr Hand was going to be
the closer probably the first two months, and then the
(21:30):
place was going to come in. Right, place is gonna
come in, And he was going to close on our time,
all right, that's what we're gonna what's gonna happen. But
now with Clace not there for at least three months
and then shut it. He's shut down for three months,
(21:51):
that means when he comes back, it's gonna take him
at least another month to get right. So now we're
looking at four months. I'm not good at math. Let's
say March, April, May, June. We're looking at the All
Star break. Maybe Mr Hunt will be traded by then.
Maybe places. Maybe he's closing by the All Star break.
(22:16):
But that's a big blow. Right now, I take him
as one of my last maybe the last pick in
my draft before. I'm taking him a little early, maybe
I'm taking him around twenty or twenty one because I'm
thinking that the Indians are gonna be horrible this season
and they're gonna get rid of Hand earlier. Right, So
that is a big loss, Right, that is a big loss.
(22:40):
So you know, I want you guys to think about
something like that. When a guy is out for you know,
eight to twelve weeks, he's out for that duration of time,
but that doesn't mean he comes back in twelve weeks
and one day. He can come back maybe two weeks
after that, because they have to bring him back. They
gotta go bring him in the minor leagues. He's got
to ramp back up. He's gotta gotta figure it out.
You gotta add another three or four weeks, especially the picture, right,
(23:02):
You gotta think about that. Twelve weeks could be a
whole lot like fourteen or fifteen weeks. It's a big loss.
All right, taking a little break, I'm Dr Rodo back
with you good more right after this. I want to

(24:12):
code Rodo fifty for fift off your first two months,
all right. Red Sox manager Ron Rednicky said Thursday morning
that Chris Sale will open the season on the injured list.
It seems like Sale had a little bout of pneumonia,
(24:33):
so that's what's putting in bide, not the elbow. Luckily,
it's not the elbow. It's the pneumonia. By the way,
if you want to house pe pneumonia, there's a pea
p n e U M O N I A p pneumonia. Okay,
I'm just on it out there. So it looks like
it's gonna be maybe mid to late April. I'm okay
(24:55):
with that. It's pretty freaking cold up in the Boston
area sometimes the beginning of the season. If Sale would
like to stay down in the Florida area, I have
no problem with that. And Sale went to f g
c U Florida Coast Gulf Coast University, which is literally
about five minutes from Jet Blue, so he probably has
(25:18):
family and friends down here. I'm sure he's gonna be
happy to be in Florida for the extra month, two
weeks to a month. He's cool with that. See his
old friends, his old college baseball coach, hang out, go
to Fort Myers Beach, play on golf. That's what's gonna happen,
(25:39):
all right, Salvador Perez his d ching for the Royals.
Get used to that, Okay, get used to seeing that.
Salvador Perez, sal Perez to his friends, Uh did not
play last year. Okay, we know that. So but this
year he's back. And he had Tommy Tommy John surgery
(26:03):
last year, right, and he's back and they want to
make sure that he can play. They need his bat
in the lineup. And because the Royals are so wretched,
they may use him at first base, they may use
him at d H, they will use them catcher. They
(26:23):
want his bat in the lineup, so he will play.
So I think the beauty of sal Perez is you
can draft him as a catcher and you may not
play that much. Catcher may only catch eighty games. But
we're cool with that, right, because his bat is gonna
play for about a buck twenty buck thirty. Right, would
(26:44):
you want Ryan O'Hearn, we're sal Perez. Well, maybe Ryana
hern sits against a tough lefty and sal Perez plays.
So I think that there's some value there to sal Perez.
I'll remember sal was a pretty good hitter. I know
(27:05):
he wasn't there last year. People forget things. Let me
give you ten they were early similar home runs and
a d r bisifty seven runs scored at seven home
runs a d r BIS fifty two runs scored head
(27:28):
to thirty five. That was a little bit of a problem, right,
the draw from thirty five, But everything else stayed the same.
And by the way, eighty from your catcher. Are you
kidding me? We love that, We absolutely love that. So
I'm I'm in on South, all right. You Henio Suarez
(27:53):
not a hasn't swung a bat in camp I expect
that he's going to start the season on the injured
list with a shoulder problem. Now here's the good news.
The good news is is that the Reds are very deep.
Well John Mike Mustakas can play third. Firstly, they got
(28:17):
Josh van Meter, who's pretty darn good too. Van Meter,
I want to see if he's available in one of
my leagues. Oh, there is boom. Get him out there right.
I think he's uh, he'll definitely qualify at something. Right,
So you might see that in the beginning part of
the year, maybe Moose or Moose can stay at at
(28:40):
second and Van Meter will play third either way, that's
the beauty of Mike Mustakas. Mike Mustakas and a guy
who can play multiple positions, second or third, whatever you need. Boom,
boom boom, he can play. So I think Suarez, let
me see, he hasn't done anything yet, hasn't ramped up,
(29:03):
hasn't taken a full swing. I'm gonna guess over under
at bats five thirty five, I'll probably it's gonna be
right around there. You're not gonna get any six D
(29:23):
and twenty plate appearances. I'll say about five thirty five
to fivet So does that devalue him a little? Not
a lot, a little, a little, still a guy with
a draft. But I'm gonna drop him around or two.
I'm gonna drop him around or two. Alright, Gean Carlos
(29:47):
Stanton has been diagnosed with a Grade one strain of
his right calf and is now questionable for opening day.
So let's talk about grade one, Grade two, Grade three.
Grade one is two to four weeks. You're hoping for two.
It could be four. Great two is usually two to
(30:12):
three months. If you're lucky, it could be three to
four months, depending grade three bad surgery, six months not good.
You don't want to hear that. You don't want to
hear that at all. So standing had a little right
(30:33):
cast train. Got to shut him down, Got to shut
him down? Right? How many games without cheating? How many
games did Giancarlo stand play for the New York Yankees
last year? That's right? Eighteen eighteen crazy right hit three runs,
(31:00):
thirteen r bis. Yankees were hoping that he was gonna
be in there. But it's problem. So Mike Tokman, Brett Gardner,
Aaron Judge, and now Miguel and do har is gonna
be the d H by the way, and do Harror.
I don't know why I didn't take him. I would
I had him on my list in my draft for
(31:22):
I don't know how many rounds. I'm so upset at myself.
All right, So sorry about that. Everybody lost a little
internet connection. But glad to have been back with you
and coming back there talking. I appreciate Sean helping me out,
very important and talking to you out there. I didn't
want to lose uh contact. But we will continue our
discussion on fantasy baseball, and of course on the Red Sox,
(31:45):
and of course on the Yankees, and of course on
the White Sox, and if there's good bets. By by
the way, the White Sock bet is an absolute Steve.
You guys should absolutely be over that one. This is
a very good team. Be on that bet all right.
But right now it's time to put away the Insure
arched cards, put away the code bay. The office is closed,
my friends. Once again, I want to thank Sean for
bailing me out today. Greatly appreciate it. And I want
(32:08):
to thank you guys for listening back tomorrow with so
much more. This is Dr roto saying, be well and
take care. I want to be the next Daily Fantasy Millionaire.
