Doc beings with what he thinks is the proper second round rankings. Pete Alonso will hit 50 homers and you will regret taking Jose Altuve over him. I love Bo Bichete and Vlad Guerrero in the second round. I don't like Freddie Freeman in the first round because of injuries.

Fancy Cope. The office is open, my friends, all right.

(00:30):
I hope you guys all had a great weekend. I
know that I did. I feel badly because I missed
labor and I missed labor which was in St. Pete
and a lot of my friends got together. They had
a l Labor draft and the NL Labor Draft, and
of course the Mixed League Auction Draft, which I was
supposed to be a part of. Maybe I will be

(00:51):
next year. I'm very upset, but I want to talk
about this um, this auction that a lot of very
good people were in. So let's say ron Chandler from
ron Chandler dot Com is in it. Always liked iron
Jake Seeley from The Athletic that everybody on this channel
should know very well, Adam ronas my former partner. Adam

(01:11):
ronis was Ray Murphy from Baseball HQ, Nick Pollock, I
don't know from picture list, the Rhodo Daddy, Doug Anderson
from Fan Tracks, Jeff Simmerman from Fan Grafts, Brian Philman,
don't know him, which I know him, Ryan Hallum, Ariel Cohen,
and the Rhodo Lady herself, Andrea Lamont. So it's it was, uh,

(01:34):
you know, for the most part, I premational, like nine
or ten people in this league. And uh, I think
we talked about auctions a little bit last week. So
it's always interesting to see, you know, how much should
certain guys go for? You know what, what is the value? Now?
This is a batting average league, not O B P

(01:55):
O BP is what we use in tout wars, but
not in labor. So let's try. I'll try to give
you guys an assessment here. So Ron Chandler spent thirty
three dollars on Trevor's story. Not bad, but I thought
Ron one of Ron's best buys was on that Rose
Area with six bucks. I like it. So Ron went

(02:18):
Vasquez and Tom Murphy spent seven dollars on his catchers.
How bad. C J. Crown for five bucks, Eduardo Escobar
for nine, story for thirty three, Justin Turner for ten.
I'm at Rose Area at six, Daniel Murphy two. Okay,

(02:39):
that's the infield. I like, I like it, paying for story.
I like getting on at Rose Areo. Here's his outfield,
j D Martinez, Starling Marte. Love it, love it, love it.
He has Cody Bellinger. Then he's got Adam Eaton, David
perraulta Corey Dickerson. Not liking that as much because I

(02:59):
think you know that's a little stars and scrubby from
me there, but it's it's okay. His pitching staff, Jack
Flaherty at thirty four dollars. You want all in on Flaherty,
Lance Landed fourteen, hinging U at ten. Not bad, Taylor
Rogers a closer at nine May but we're paid for

(03:21):
that one a little bit, but not terrible. Carlos Martinez
at six, Jose Laclerk at five, Josh James who I
like a lot of four, Dylan Ceason one, Rick Porcello
at one. Not a bad team, not a bad team.
I think we have some weaknesses in the ailefield, the Eaton, Peralta, Dickerson.
I'm not loving the CJ. Cron Danny Murphy. I think

(03:43):
we could have done a little bit better than that.
I like getting Jack Flaherty, but he's got three starters, Flaherty,
Lennon ru not bad to go along, and I do
like Josh James, so I think there's something to work
with their on this team, something to work with on
that team. All right, let's see what Jake Seeley did.
Jake Ceely went for three dollars with his catchers, with

(04:04):
Danny Jansen or Travis Darnall. You know, Danny Jansen for
a buck, them all in on, it's pretty good. Travis
Darnaut for two bucks, I like as well. I think
he did well there. Eric Cosmer I absolutely hate and
I don't know why people spend no money on a
first baseman. And look, Jake is a really good player.

(04:24):
He's a really good player. But Hosmer to me, is
a big, fat, stinking zero. When somebody has Pete Alonso
and you have Eric Cosmer, Pete Alonso has got forty
eight home runs, Eric Cosmer has got eighteen, you're behind
by thirty home runs. Not liking it. Al Tub he's
got alt at second base. I like Altov, But do

(04:48):
I really like Altuve? Do I think he's gonna get
thrown out about thousand times and get injured? I don't know.
I kind of do mond to see a Kyle Siegert
a Buck Arlos Korea at six. We're not on newd
As one. So Jake went with the Houston ashtro discount there.
I just I get it. I get it. But at

(05:11):
the same time, do you want to be in bed
with al Tube and Correa when you know when, when,
when sports books are already betting on how many times
pictures will throw at your team? Is that really where
you want to go within? I don't know Day's got
Charlie Blackman, Bucks, Luis Robert eighteen, Luis Robert eighteen. You're

(05:34):
paying full value for Luis Robert full value could have
gotten Austin Meadows at nineteen. Hello, taking that, I think
you overpaid greatly for that. Kyle Tucker to which I
like Trent Christman one. I like Austin Hayes at one.
I like that was good. Jake did a good job
at the end there in his outfield, so I like

(05:57):
the Jansen and Darnel. I like the new Neez Tucker,
Grisham Hayes at the end there. That was good. Hate
Dansby Swanson now it's pitching staff Justin Verlander thirty six, Bucks,
Max Scher's A thirty two, Chris Sale, Blake Snell eighteen,
Noah Syndergards seventeen. Oh my god, he's went all in
on pitching a lot of pitching now. So let me

(06:20):
ask you this question. If you have Verlander and you
have Scherzer, do you really need Chris Sale, who's starting
this season on the injured list? I don't know. I
don't like that Danny has Edwin Diez, Craig Grimprel, Tanaka
and Otani. Do I feel great about Dz and Kimberrell's

(06:43):
my closers? Maybe not two guys who have the job
today who I don't know if they have the job
in September. It's okay. It's got some things going on here.
I don't think he's winning with this team, but the
pitching staff is pretty good, all right. My man Adam Roynas.
I had teased Ronus because Roonas texts me, He's like, hey,

(07:04):
I'm in I'm in Florida, And I said, for what
he goes knicks labor. I didn't realize Roonas was doing
mixed labor. I said, whatever you do, do do don't wait.
Ronas always waits in auctions and then he waits too long,
and then he gets upset. So I said, don't wait.
He goes. I know I always wait. I'm not gonna wait.
So let's see how Adam did. Jason Castro in Austin

(07:25):
roll mine one dollar each. I don't hate Jason Castro.
I think that there's a little value there. Christian Walker
the buck, I think is okay. I like him better
than Eric Cosma at least. Christian Walker home runs. I
love Cavin Bizio at six dollars. That is one of
my favorite calls of this of this draft, right here,

(07:47):
of this auction. Love it, Lynn Door thirty three, Matt
Chapman at sixteen, Garrett Hampson at a dollar, Joan Moncada
at at eleven. I really like what ronas it in
his infield. I really really like it Visio at six.
If I can get him at six versus altwoe done.

(08:11):
Lynn Door, You got to spend somewhere. Matt Chapman, very
good head or who should hit to fifty with forty bombs.
Garrett Hampson, who I am extremely high on because I
think his floor, his floor is fifteen home runs thirty
stolen basis if he plays every Day and Joan Moncada.

(08:32):
We know what he could do his outfield, Mike Trout
at forty four, Mookie Bets at thirty six, Nick Castianos
at sixteen, Lord of Scurril Jr. At four. J. D.
Davis had one. Love it, love it, love it, love it,
love it, love it. What's not to like? Love? All
those guys? And Kevin Newman in a buck and it's

(08:54):
got Jacob deGrom at forty, Clevinger a seventeen, assuming Clevinger's
back is strong, and we two probably got a big
discount on him, probably got a ten dollar discount. Roberto
of Suna, Dylanson lamenta ten, Hula Eurius at four. I
love Andrew, He need a buck, Adrian Howser a buck,
Josh lindblom On a buck, Tony Watson and a buck.

(09:16):
That's a pretty drunk good team. Is their power yes?
Is their speed yes? Is there pitching? Yes? Is he
maybe one pitcher short? Maybe? But if Clevinger comes back
sooner than later, he's gonna be just fine. It's gonna
be just fine. And he's got the ace and de
gram right, it's got the ace. So that's a pretty

(09:41):
good team. So out of the three teams. I like
what Chandler did. I'm okay with what Jake did. I
think I love what Adam did especially, really like that outfield.
It's really top notch. Did a really good job. So
it doesn't sound like he waited at all. Rom Member.
When you are in a baseball auction, when you wait,

(10:04):
bad things happen. When you wait, bad things happen. All right,
I'm gonna take a little break. When I come back,
I'm gonna continue to break down this auction. I'll take
a look at Ray Murphy's team, Nick Pollock's team, Doug
Anderson's team. See what they did. Make some comments. Was
it worth the money? Was it not? Pick up some
how auction strategies work and how you can best win

(10:28):

(11:45):
H We're back. It's dr Roda here or breaking down
mixed labor auctions, strategy and what to do all right
baseball h Q. Ray Murphy. Now here's what Ray Murphy did,
which is interesting, Gary Sanchez and Wilson Contreras. He spent
nineteen dollars on Sanchez, fourteen dollars on Contraris. So in

(12:11):
some ways he was contrarian because most guys spent nothing
on catching. But yet he spent a boatload of money. Right,
he spent a boatload of money. Jake spent three dollars,
Chandlers spent seven, Rhona spent two, They spent thirty three,
Gray spent thirty three. Then he's got Joey Vado, who

(12:34):
I can't stand at four dollars awful, awful, awful, like
Mike Mustakis at like Trade Turner at thirty six, got
us solidify the stolen bases. Gets jose Era Mayr is
a thirty two, pretty good. Gets DD Gregorious at four,
who I do like a lot. I think people are
overlooking d. D. Gregorious in that small park. Gets Evan

(12:57):
White at two. Whatever they're I can't hit that much.
Outfield is Bryce Harper thirty two, Justin Upton at five?
You seell Puek at four, Ryan Brown at three, Hunter
Rentfrow at three. I would have liked that outfield three
years ago. I don't like it now. I don't want
any part of Justin Upton when I can have and

(13:20):
Puig where's he signing? I don't know. I don't like it.
Starling Casher at three. I'm telling you this is like, uh,
I'm good with this team three years ago. Pitching staff
Josh Hayter at twenty. I like Hater because he solidifies numbers.
Clayton Kershaw twenty, Zach Rank at nineteen, Brandon Woodroffe at sixteen,
Will Smith, the three Diegos too, John Gray, to Lugo

(13:42):
a to Yardborougher too. So we're looking at Kershaw, Grinky Woodruff. Nice. Nice,
Nice that he's got Hayter is one closer. Hopes that
Will Smith saved some games and Diegos. Maybe he gets
a closer there. I'm okay with this team. I'm not
loving it. I don't think he's winning, but I do
like that he went aggressive on the catchers. I just
think he spent a little bit too much there. I

(14:04):
would have liked some of that money to go to
his outfield instead, all right, Nick Pollock, Salvador Perez, it's
six bucks, Roberto Perez, he went with the Perez brothers
at a at a buck. I like sal Perez. I
think it's six dollars. She's better than Christian Vasquez, that's
for sure. Jose Breo at nineteen, I'm good with that.
Ronando dort Fo, Xander Bogart's A twenty, Undo Suarez a

(14:27):
thirteen caliber, Torres A twenty. Julie Guerrerio at six. I
asked a question, where's the speed coming from? I don't know,
but the speed will come from his outfield. Christian Yellow
forty seven, Wow Boom Bam, Ramo Loreano fifteen, fran Milrays eight,
Randall Green Chuck six, Kettle Marte seventeen, Danny Santana six.

(14:52):
Here's the problem. When you've got O Door, and you've
got Loriano and you you've got fran Mille Reyes and
you've got Great Chuck, You've got guys who will hurt
your average a lot. So I don't know. I don't
like this roster construct very much at all. His pitching

(15:13):
you Darvish and nineteen, David Price at ten, overpaid, Zach
Wheeler at ten, Radio gleasy Is at eight, Matt Boyd
at six, Bum Gardner at six, must grow with four.
I like that Brandon Kids started three, Mitch Killer two. Yeah,
I don't know if you're winning with this team, dude. Sorry, Price, Wheeler, Boyd,
good luck with that. You're not winning. He's not beating

(15:36):
Adam Rous, Ray Murphy and Ron Shank with that bunch
of clowns. Clown roster right there, all right, Douggy Anderson
the Rono Daddy, Buster Posey at three, Yad Molina at
two solid. I don't love Buster Posey, but I mean
all right. Rice Hoskins at fourteen. I'm good with Robinson
Canoe with a buck. I can't stand him anymore. I

(15:57):
do love Bobusht at sixteen. I like Nolan Arenaut at
thirty three. I like Tim Anderson at eleven. I like
Vlad Guerrero at seventeen. I like this team. I don't
like Cano, but Hoskins, Bischette, Arnado, Anderson and Vlad. I'm
all in. I like that a lot that's got dr
Roto type of visionary roster written all over it. His outfield.

(16:19):
Eloy Jimenez at seventeen. Love that. Joey Gallo at nine.
I like a lot, Max Kepler at five. I love
Gregory Polanco at four is okay? Hunter Dozer too, You're
Don Alvarez a five. Maybe a little too much for Alvarez,
but the rest is not bad. I don't love Polanco,
I love Himenez. I love Gallo, I love Kepler. That's

(16:40):
good stuff. His pitching staff, Jared Cole at forty, good
with that. Corey Kluberg fifteen. I think he's undervalued. Liam
Hendricks eleven. I love Frankie Mantas at ten, Hey sus
Lozardo at eight, Archie Bradley at seven, Mike Foltonevitch at four.
I don't like Beckenzie at three, Joe Himenez at three.

(17:01):
I love Joe Himenez three bucks for the clothes are
gonna get thirty saves. I think Doug did a really
good job here. I mean it's not perfect. I think
he needs a second baseman. I would have taken I
would have taken that money on your Don Alvarez and
I would have got myself a second baseman and a
different util But outside of that, I think if he
did a really good job, pretty good job at Doug

(17:24):
all right, Fan Grafs, Jeff Zimmerman one dollar for Robinson Cheros,
fourteen for YASMANI grand ol, Hey, that's painful price. Tray
Man Ceny fifteen bucks. I think i'd rather Rice Hoskins
at fourteen, Keston Hero, you know I love him at sixteen,
Corey Segret eight, Josh Donaldson is sixteen. I like a lot.

(17:46):
Jonathan vr at sixteen, I like a lot. Miguel Satan
I love love So I'm okay with this team so far.
I think it's pretty good construct George Springer two, Marcelo
Zoune at fifteen, Byron Bucks and at nine, Giancarlo Standard eight,
Wit Maryfield at nineteen, d J Mahew at seventeen. That's
pretty good. It's pretty good. I like it I like

(18:09):
what he did here. Now here's where I think he
went off the rails. Chris Paddock is his number one
starter at nineteen, Curby Yates at seventeen. I'm good with
Carrasco at ten, Kent Tobad at seven, Handsel Robliss seven,
Ian Kennedy at Fivetillan Bundy at four, Robbie Rad four,
Harmon Marquez at one. He's got the closers. He's got

(18:31):
the closers and Yates, Roblists and Kennedy. But the starters Paddock, Carrasco, Mata, Bundy,
Ray Marquez. I do worry. I worry about that one
a little bit. I think he's one starting pitcher away
from being a real good team. I like his team,

(18:52):
but man, I think I want Paddock as a as
a two, not a one, all right. Brian Fellman, Wilson
ral most of fourteen. That seems pricey, Francisco manhe had
a buck. I'm great with Pete Alonzo at twenty four,
little pricey, Brokay, Jonathan Scope at six, Harvey Bayas at
twenty seven, Ryan McMann and five, Marcus Semi and its

(19:13):
seventeen little pricey for me, Carlo. I mean when I
get died, Gregorious and like twelve bucks, cheaper Carlos and
Town a little pricey. Juan Soto at thirty four. I
love Austin Meadows at nineteen. I love Oscar Mercado at nine.
I love t Oscar. He got Oscar and ce Oscar
at three. Jeff McNeil of fifteen seems old price. So

(19:34):
I think what Brian Feltman did here was he paid
up for guys he liked. But I think he paid
up a little much retrospectively, when you're looking at the draft,
his Nelson Cruise at nineteen, pitching staff, Hector Narius at eleven,
Sonny Gray at ten, Mike Saroco a ten, I like
a lot, Kyle Hendri at six, seven, Odorezi at seven,
Mike Minor at five, Luke Weaver at five, Shawn Doolittle four,

(19:56):
Discalfani at one. You are not winning any league with
that pitching staff, dude, thanks for your money. You're not winning.
Cannot win without. I mean Soroka maybe is a one. Maybe,
I don't know. I think you need better than that.
I think you need better closer than that. I think

(20:17):
this team's got pitching issues, big pitching issues all right.
Our friend Craig Mish spends twenty seven hard earned dollars
on JT Real Mudo and nine dollars on Will Smith.
He spends the most on catchers. Do I like his catchers?
I do? I do. If you're gonna spend on two catchers,

(20:39):
those are two to spend a month. I like the
will Smith and nine bucks. I do like it better
than Wilson Concharis at fourteen, Josh Bell at fourteen, I'm
fine with Gavin looks I'm fine at five Man at
twenty two, I'm good. Brian Anderson don't love that one,
but okay. Tommy Edmund at seven is fine and Charnascio
at nine is fine. Ronald Lacuna jet eight look if

(21:01):
yellow just forty seven shouts forty four quhen he is fine.
Shogo akiyamat four, David Dollard four, Lorenzo Caine and three
Jared Dice in the two. I mean that outfield has
potential and their speed there, but can they stay healthy?
And I don't know. Max Monse at fifteen I really like.
I like Max Mounsey now, Mrs Pitching Staff Shane Bieber

(21:23):
twenty nine. I love Zach Gallen of thirteen. I really
like Max free to eleven. I like Nick Anderson attend.
I like Ko Kelletts seven. I like a J. Puckett five.
I like jose Cretty at four. I like Aaron Sevali
at three. I like Marcus Stroman too, I like I
like his pitching staff a lot. That's that's very rhodo esque.
I would have walked home with Zach Gallen and Nick

(21:44):
Anderson for sure. There's no way those two guys would
have escaped my team, just like those pictures a lot.
I worry a little bit about his outfield. But it's
pretty good team. It is a pretty good team. I mean,
so when we go through it, you can hear the differences, right,
you can hear the differences in the lineup constructions and

(22:05):
why other teams are not gonna win. Right. That's the
interesting thing. When we go through this and I read
you the rosters, I think it becomes crystal clear why
some teams can win and some teams can't. Whether it's
not enough average, not enough pitching, not enough speed, not

(22:28):
enough outfield, whatever it is, there's always some missing piece
on a bad team. On a good team, you're looking
at and go, Yeah, it's pretty good team. That team
as a shot. Right, So here as we're going through it,
there's definitely been what I've covered nine teams so far,
there's definitely about five teams with a shot to win,

(22:49):
and definitely about four teams that have no chance on dance.
All right, We're gonna take a little time out. When
I come back, I'm gonna break down the final three teams,
Ryan Hallum, Ariel Cohen, Andrea Lamont and we'll see how
they did, and then we'll do a little of prediction
on who we think is gonna win the mixed Labor auction.

(23:11):
All right, um, Dr Rodo and I'll be back with
you right after this. I want to be the next

(24:07):
So Sean, how is your weekend? My man? It was
it good? It was okay, It was okay. That weekend
was very disturbing. You know why what happened? I got
a text for my friend Sean. I must think I'm
like the worst person in the world. Close. No, no, yeah,
you must think I'm like the world's worst human being.
I admire your your opinion. I don't feel I don't

(24:30):
know if I feel flatter or like flabberg gas where
it's like, dude, I don't know. I was like, does
Sean think I suck at life? That's what I really thought? Yeah, no, no,
I don't think I suck it? Okay, just checking. I
know if I text you, I'll get an unbiased opinion
on anything that is I am dealing with. That is true,

(24:51):
unfiltered and unbiased, that is absolute true. I will always
do that for you, my friend. I promise you that
whether the issue in hand, you want to talk, Oh,
I don't want to talk about it. I don't. Do
you want me to do it? Yeah? You bring it up?
Do you want me to table? No? No, I'll set
the table ah, I get it. I get a text
with Sean okay on Saturday. It says, so I'm at

(25:14):
the sports book eating and buy myself. I have a
hit top on. This guy in a wheelchair comes in.
They asked me to move because he can only sit
at the high top. I said, no, he can wait.
Am I wrong? Well that's an abridged version. That is
exactly what you wrote to me. Is that what you
wrote to me? Exactly what you wrote? That's exactly right.
This is why I hate te Now did you get

(25:35):
to say did I expect you to say, like, what
a good job, Sean, Let the guy in the wheelchair
and not sit? No? No, no, I expect you to say,
please explain, because text passage you can't really get in
all of the you know, the guy in the wheelchair
can wait. That's what you're saying. So the truth is it?

(25:56):
Am I wrong? No? You're not you? I said, yes,
way wrong. He's a freaking wheelchair right of course, of course,
of course, But no, you're not wrong? There can I explain? Sure?
So there were multiple open tables right that were wheelchair accessible?

(26:18):
How about that? Is that acceptable to you? Yeah? That's okay,
But you didn't write that. You didn't write that in
the text. I would have followed up with that if
you like, uh, why do I need to explain when
you said my wrong and I said, yes, you were wrong.
Do you really want like eight text messages like in
a row. You're not gonna read them all from you?
That I would read that, I would read that you're

(26:40):
a busy man. I am busy, but I would read them.
I'd find time. You're a family man, all right. So
in any event, it worked out because I had to
go anyway, so the wheelchair guy got my table, so
everything worked out in the end. Now, you did say
something that was interesting after I told you, And there's
one thing you said that was interesting. You're like, he

(27:01):
can wait, and I'm like, dude, you can't wait, he
can't wait. But then you said something that actually was interesting.
You said, dude, he's a human just like me. He
does not deserve pity. That's the ultimate sign of disrespect.
I agree with that, right, that was interesting. That was
a point where I didn't think I had. You actually
made me think for a second where you're like, well, look,

(27:21):
I mean if I if I pity him, does he
want my pity. But the truth is I think he does.
Maybe he does. He's in a wheelchair. Do you want
to pat him on the head and like pinch his cheeks? Exactly?
Why treat him like that? Treat him like he could
because he's not, because he's not able to do. Look,

(27:43):
I told you this my son when a couple of
years ago I broke his foot and we're traveling around
the city of Chicago with him in a wheelchair at
the same and let me tell you, it's it's ninety
five degrees. It is hot as all heck, and we're
in Chicago with my son or a wheelchair. And let
me tell you this. Half the people get out of
the way, they smile and whatever they can do to
help you. The other half stand right in front of you,

(28:06):
don't care and don't move when you say excuse me,
and he and he's kicking you with his with his
good foot. They don't care. People don't care. So let
me ask you this. Right, So, if you're in the
bathroom right and the wheelchair accessible, like bathroom is filled, right,
it's filled with someone, right, should you if they knocked

(28:27):
on the door and you're in the middle of you know,
doing your business. I think the wrong question is I'm
using the if I'm using the wheelchair accessible bathroom. No no,
no, no no, no, that's not the right no no, because
in this situation there was no I was not using
the wheel chair accessible table. By the way, I do
use a wheelchair accessible bathroom. You do. Is that bad
for me? Yes? Make me a bad person? Yes? I

(28:50):
think so. Yeah. I figure if I go in quickly
and come out quickly, then nobody knows. You're like Larry David,
like like this is a Curb your Enthusiasm episode, you
get caught. If I got caught, I would feel like
the worst human being on the planet. I would I
feel like the worst See, Butry David wouldn't feel like
a bad person. I feel like a bad person because
I'm a good person. I feel badly. No, you're not

(29:11):
a good person because you don't agree with me. Yes,
I am because I don't agree with you. Oh my god,
you think I'm wrong. You think I'm the worst human
in the world, like I think. No, I think you
think I'm the worst room in the world. No, no, no,
you're a nice guy. Let me ask you this when
when when you're on a bus and an old woman walk.
That's different. That's different because you put your seat. Okay,

(29:32):
that's good. This guy's in a wheelchair though he could
he could wheel himself to the bond. Dude, you're walking,
but there's your word tables around that he could sit at.
Just move your seat, dude, make the guy happy. Why
you pity? Why not? You want to pity these people?
That's just want you to go. I just want you

(29:53):
to do that. And then he goes, thanks man, and
you're like, no problem. So if you have good so
if you're having a discussion, right it, and you're like,
you know, I think I'm gonna vote for Joe Biden.
You know, I don't know. I'm a Democrat, right and
the primary is coming up and between Bernie and Joe, right,
and I think I'm gonna vote for Joe Biden. And
he goes, no, you know what, I'm gonna go vote

(30:15):
for Bernie Sanders. And then you pat him on the
head and he go, good, good job, buddy. This is
the It's condescending. That's the worst example. It's condescending. It's yes,
politics about politics. You gotta treat these people as you
have two good feet. And you could move. He can't. No,

(30:36):
he can. He has a wheelchair. He can. What do
you mean he can't move? It doesn't matter if he
was if he was a veteran, would you move he
was a veteran, would you move? I thought about that,
by the way, like you know, like, um, yeah, oh boy,

(30:59):
that's tough. You'd move. I think about it. You'd move?
You better move? Seriously if this was like a eighty
year old guy. But he did not, He did not ask.
It was the wait staff that because the guy, now,
I wouldn't ask, dude, he wouldn't ask. But the one
guy would wait. He'd be like, no, no, no no, let
him eat his meal. I'll wait five minutes for the

(31:21):
You should you're gonna You're gonna let the old guy
from Noam wait for you to eat. But I'm not.
I'm not seriously no, But but how would I know? Look,
just move, it's the nice thing to do. He's not asking,
it's your nice guy. I'm not really so maybe were

(31:41):
you just? Were you just upset that the waitress asked
you not to Somebody correct that. That was a lot
of it, Yeah, I was so a lot of it
was just you were just annoyed that she picked you
out of the whole thing. That was someone she could
have picked five people should picked you. Acknowledge that, Yeah, exactly. Okay,
so you're in a bad mood. Then you're like, why
are you're asking me, lady when you could have asked them? Correct?

(32:02):
Maybe she liked you, maybe she thought you would do it.
That makes it worse, right, I know? Nice? Are you
two nights? No, you're not too nice. I don't spit
in your food anymore. Just be careful. She doesn't spit
in your food anymore. Just doing that out there. But
you know you're the first one I email about this

(32:22):
or tech. Sorry, you love this. I don't know whether
that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm not
so sure. Well, I think it's interesting. I thought, well,
I thought you made me think with the fun, with
the whole thing, with the guy want pity. Well, that's good.
That's what I tried. I thought that was interesting that
that made me think. That made me think, all right,
let me start thinking about fantasy baseball. Hare Ryan hallum

(32:43):
almar naves for seven bucks in horror. Hey, I'll follow
with three. I like what he did there for ten bucks.
It's good stuff. It's probably what I would have done.
I like will Smith at nine. That's good, but I
mean I'll follow with three. It's pretty good too. Matt
Olson at twenty. I think he paid a lot for it.
But when I look at Pete Alonso Matt Olsen, I
think they're gonna be pretty close. And he got a

(33:04):
four dollar savings. Colton Wong at four, Tatis at twenty six,
Scott Kingery at seven, Nick Magical three, Luke Void at three.
This guy's not winning, all right. I'm telling you this
right now, Colton Wong, Kingery, Magical Void. You need all
these guys to do well. It's not happening. Then he's
got Victor Roeblis at nineteen, Tommy fam at eighteen, Joe

(33:24):
Adel at four, when is he coming up? Willie Calhoun
at for Mark Cannada to Alex Bregman at twenty eight.
Let me tell you something about this guy. He's not winning,
not winning. Walker Bueller thirty four. I like Lucas Giulio
at nineteen. I like Charlie Morton at nineteen. I like,
but I don't think we needed it. A Rollers Chapman

(33:45):
at fifteen is good. Jose bettys fourteen as too expensive,
James Paxson at seven, Joey Luke Chase at three, Hunter
Harvey had won, Scott Oberg had one. Now this guy
is a perfect example of what he did wrong. You
have Walker Bueller, you have Lucas Gelita, you have two aces.
Why do you need Charlie Morton at nineteen and Jose

(34:08):
Bettios at fourteen? Why why not put that into your
offense because your offense stinks. Dude, seriously, get rid of
Luke Voit, get yourself, Anthony Rizzo. You don't need Charlie
Morton on top of Walker Bueller and Lucas Gielita. So
there's a bad roster construct here. Chance of this guy

(34:30):
winning zero zero, and I'm being generous, maybe it's minus.
I don't know why people do what they do. You
know a lot of times I find fantasy sports is
actually easy for me. I mean, this is the best way,
because sometimes drafts go just go your way and people

(34:52):
do the craziest things. I'm like, all right, you're leaving
me this guy, I'll take them. I mean, did you
wake up this morning you think you need a Buell
of g leto Morton Chapman Barrios, Paxston and now you
want Paxston for if you wanted Packston as your third guy,
I'm cool with that. But you didn't need Charlie Morton
and Barrios when you when you're outfield as Mark can

(35:12):
I in it. I mean, that's just not good. And
Luke Vait and Colton Loong not winning, absolutely not winning. Seriously,
you can look at the lineup and know why a
guy isn't winning. And I'm telling you because when you

(35:36):
go in for the extra pictures that you don't need
when you already have two or three of them, I
don't need five. Half the points of faith are pitching,
half a hitting. All right, I'm Dr Rodo. I'm back
with Moore right after this. I want to be the

going through the mixed labor auction talking about auction strategies,

(36:41):
how people did. All right, let's get to the last
two teams here, Ariel Cohen, Carson Kelly eight bucks like it,
Kurtzazuki too, It's fine. Freddie Freeman at thirty three. Whoa, whoa,
you're going all in on Freddy Freeman, who we've already

(37:02):
discussed is not fully healthy. No thanks, says are Hernandez
a buck like Elvis Andrews at ten. Okay Devor is
a twenty four. I like Jorge Palanco at six. I
like Anthony Rizzo at seventeen. Why do I need? Freddie
Freeman at Anthony Rizzo? How about what see that to me?
I don't love don't love that. Eddie Rosario it's seventeen.

(37:25):
Is fine? Aaron Judge at fourteen, miss you healthy? Michael
kinford O at twelve. I like a lot. Michael Brandley
at eight, Nick Brian Reynolds seven is good, Malex Smith
at six. It's got some speed pitching staff, Steven Strasburg
at six. Louis Castillo a twenty one, Tyler Glaston with sixteen,

(37:46):
Ken Giles at thirteen, Kenley Jansen at nine, Sean and
I at four, Hosa Hoshahina, Hosaina Horono to excuse me,
Lance mccullors too, Mark Lanson too. I like the pitching staff.
Strasbourg Isdeo Glass now Manya Giles, Janssen. It's not bad.
I just don't know if I love the hitting. It's okay,

(38:08):
it's okay. I don't know. I think Freddie Freeman maybe
a thirty three dollar mistake. Just have that feeling, all right.
Let's take a look at my friend Andrea Lamont, Mitch
Garver twelve and Sean Murphy at three. UM spend fifteen
dollars and catchers. I like getting Mitch garvery solid. Paul
gold Schmidt at twenty. I think i'd rather Matt Olsen.

(38:29):
Ozzie Albi is a twenty four. Wow, you're paying a
lot for Albi's more, way more than Altob. But he's
a good player. De Young at eight. People don't like
the Jon, but he's very good. Anthony Rendona, very good player.
Brandon Loewett three is fine. Chris Bryan it twenty I
like what you did here, Bryant rand done to young

(38:50):
Albi's gold Schmidt. It's solid. It is the outfield. Kyle
Schobert thirteen, Ben attended at twelve, Jorge soul at eleven.
Then she has Chris Davis, Manuel Margot, and A. J. Pollock.
I guess my biggest question on this team is where's

(39:10):
the speed coming from? I know Albis, but where's the
rest of that speed coming from Ben Attendee Marco, who's
not even gonna play every day? I don't know, I think,
and then I worry about the average. You've got Davis,

(39:31):
You've got Schwarber, you got this young, You've got three
guys who don't really hit for decent averages. I don't know.
It's a little sketchy to me. Pitching staff Patrick Corbett
twenty two. I like Aaron Nola twenty one. I like
I know Andrew loves Trevor Bauer at thirteen. I would
have been her up. Brad brad Hand for thirteen, and

(39:52):
Ward Rodriguez for nine, Brandon Workman for seven, Alex column
a and six rows stripling at three. Alex would for too.
It's not a bad pitching staff, not a bad pitching staff.
I know she likes a lot of those pictures, so
it's interesting, Like I know Area likes Trevor Bauer. When
you're an auction, you sit there and you're like, oh,

(40:14):
you like Trevor. I'm gonna make you pay for Trevor Bauer, right,
So if if it's a thirteen, would I have said fourteen?
Maybe if I thought that Area wants him? Right. At
some point people have to decide whether or not they
want the player or they're will they're willing to pay
the premium. Some people are good at saying nope, I'm

(40:38):
not gonna pay it, not at all, not happening, not
doing it. And then some people are, though, the type
who want the guy badly. And when I find in auctions,
I'll give you a general strategy that I have. I

(41:00):
of the time, thirty thirty percent of the time I
call out somebody I want. Most of the time I
call out somebody I don't want. I don't think other
people do that. So for the most part, my auction
strategy is quite simple. I look for the guy I

(41:24):
want the least, who I think will go for the most.
So if I don't like, let's just say, for argument's sake,
I don't want Freddie Freeman. I'm calling Freddy Freeman. And
then when Ariel Cohen spends thirty three bucks on that,
I am literally self high five in myself, right, I

(41:47):
am self high five in myself because I never would
have spent thirty three. I didn't want them, and I
found somebody else to overpay for. Now. Some people don't
feel that way. Some people feel like when they bid
on a guy, when they put throw a guy out,
that's a guy they want, and so they're willing to

(42:07):
bid more aggressively. You can kind of tell when the
bidding gets right. Let's just say, you know it's, uh,
give me a guy. Let's say it's I'm at Rods
Area and I threw him out right, and I'll say one,
somebody says to. Somebody says three, somebody says four, somebody

(42:28):
says five, and then I'm like six. If I come
back and say six, you know I want them, especially
if I threw them out. So then what do I
do is do I say seven? I say seven on
one of two things. One if I like him, if
I legitimately like a guy, I might say seven, Or

(42:48):
I might say seven if I think you will pay eight.
Now what I will say in the expert leagues, for
the most part, For the most part, experts do a
better job than people in a home league of not
falling into that trip. So at a home league, some

(43:11):
guy will be a Met fan, his sons with him.
They've got their Met Jersey's on Ahmed Roseera comes up
at six. I'm saying seven every time, every time. I
know that makes me a horrible person. I don't mean it.
I'm really nice. But when I see that and the
kids like daddy, I love on that ROSERO. Okay, then

(43:33):
the guy spends eight. There you go. You can't do that.
It's like playing poker. You can't tell me what your
cards are. You can't tell me what the cards are.
It's not fair advantage. Now, if I like the kid,
i'd like the guy probably won't do it. But if
I don't, you know, if I don't like the guy,

(43:55):
may make him pay next all they're just throwing it
out there. But I think experts don't do that. I
think experts don't do that at all. Experts have an
idea where six bucks are on my ros AREO. I'm
not spending seven six I'll pay seven is too high,
and that's usually how it shakes out, right. So I

(44:17):
think experts know what they're willing to pay and what
they're not, And I think that's one of the things
that people in home leagues have to tighten up on.
There's nobody who I'm not willing to lose, and if
I'm not willing to lose them, then don't worry about then.
Just get them. Just get them. Sometimes I'll say to

(44:38):
a friend of mine, don't come home without so and so,
whatever costs, don't come home without it. Just get them.
Last year, my friend and I did an auction. I said,
just get Luis Casio. I don't care whatever it costs,
you bring them home because I knew I wanted Luis
Castillo this year. I don't know who I'd feel that

(45:02):
way about. Let me see. I think that I couldn't
absolutely live without look at all the teams here. M hmmm,
I think pictures. I don't know I could live that
most of these guys. I'd be in on Walker Bueller,

(45:24):
but I wouldn't go thirty four. I'd be in on
Gee Alito. I might go twenty. I would be in
on Tyler Glass now and Luis Castillo. I would, but
I think it'd be more in on hitting. I'm trying
to see Cavin Bizio I like, I like Bo Baschett.

(45:45):
There's certain guys that I like Keston here a lot.
I like Rice Hoskins, I like Matt Olsen. There are
just certain guys Anthony Rizzo, certain guys I just wanted
my team, right, But I think you know, you can't
always have everybody you want. And I think the beautiful
thing of an auction is that as opposed to waiting,

(46:07):
you know, for twenty picks for your for you to pick,
in an auction, you have the control. Guy's day come
comes up, you can do what you want. Guy's name
comes up, you can figure it out, and then you
can do it on the fly. Well let's say, you know,
Charlie Blackman comes up, you get him, and then Louis

(46:28):
Robert is the next call out. Well, all of a sudden,
you just spent forty three dollars that you aren't expecting
to but you have to adjust, you adjust on the fly.
I think auctions make us more accountable, which I think
is interesting, right. I think in that accountability is very
good because literally when you're sitting there to draft, you

(46:50):
can go walk away, come back. I've done that before.
I've done two drafts at the same time, and I
just walked across the him and help somebody with this
pick and then walk back to mind. You can't do
that in auction. An auction, you need to be present
all the time. That I love. I love the fact
that you need to be focused and present. Being present

(47:14):
is so important in life and in your drafts. It's critical,
all right, real quick move a fantasy football note, Peter
King considers the Bucks likely to move on from free
agent Jamis Winston. When Peter King says it, I start
to believe it gonna be interesting to see what happens

(47:37):
over the next few days. I'll be writing an article
and we'll we'll do a quarterback tracker about that. All right,
But right now it's time. I have to put away
the insurance cards, put away the co pay. The office
is close, my friends. I want to thank you guys
for listening today. I want to listen listening to all
the auction talking auction strategy. I hope it helped. I do.

(47:59):
I really hope it howled. And sometimes we can find
these very instructive. I want to thank my man Sean
and the booth appreciate you, my friend, and hopefully you
guys me back tomorrow and I'll have my man Gray
