soremon Bro Football Route. All right, what's any body? This

(01:02):

analyzing the week's action and then applying it to everything
you need moving forward in your fantasy football leagues. Once again,
I am Matt Striker. Happy to be here in our
studios in New York City, Manhattan. But an underground bunker

(01:23):
somewhere is our leader and we have made contact with him,
the mind, the one and only Mr Davis Mattock Davis.
How you doing today? I'm doing I'm doing fantastic. So
glad to be here with you. Another great day of
sports investments of of DFS of seasonal fantasy. A lot

(01:45):
of a lot of really good stuff going on today, Yeah,
and a strange week for a lot of people. Uh,
one thing that jumped out at you and one thing
that truly disappointed you. I think the biggest thing that
jumped out to me was the performance of Lamar Jackson.
I think at this point we have to think of
him as the best quarterback in the NFL until until

(02:08):
further notice, no one is really able to string together
plays like him. Something I was disappointed by was the
Los Angeles Rams on the road at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I had a Steelers ticket in this game, so, you know,
not not too upset about that, but I just I
thought they would be more competitive, and honestly, they weren't.
You know, last year's NFC champions just uh, they look

(02:29):
a little left for dead. Absolutely is now Week ten
is coming to a close. It really becomes very clear
as far as your fantasy football needs go. You know
exactly where you are. You know, if you're one of
these you know two and eight or three and seven
teams that it is what it is, and you just
keep playing. You know, if you want of these bubble
teams and you know you have to stick it out

(02:49):
to try to make the playoffs. And then if you're
like Davis and you're sitting probably a ten and oh
or nine and one, and you're starting to think about
winning a championship. And that's what we want to do here.
We want to give the edge. You want the edge
to get on the grid. This is the Pro Football Rewind.
Ladies and gentlemen. I'm Match Striker, He's Davis Maddick. When
we come back, we're gonna dive deep into everything you
need and more to help you become a champion, to

(03:13):
help you make that right trade. Bring it back on
the Pro Football Rewind, sports grid dot Com, Betting, insights
and entertainment at your fingertips as our team covers the
most important topics in sports wagering, real time odds, predictive
betting models, expert picks and more. Want the edge than
get on the grid sports grid dot Com. All right,

(03:52):
welcome back. We get rocking and rolling right away. This
is the Pro Football Rewind on. Match Striker joining me
as always is Davis Maddock. And Davis want to dive
right in to some of the big stories from the
early slate, starting with these here Jets and those they're Giants.
The Jets, uh, they they were able to beat the

(04:14):
New York Football Giants because, uh, the New York Football
Giants are not very good and uh, you know, in
kind of a perverse way, the Giants actually did the
Jets at disservice because their draft pick is going to
be worse now, and you know, that's not what they
want the Jets at this point. They should be tanking
to try and you know, pick second, third, fourth in
the draft. And uh, the Giants, despite Danny Dimes's best efforts,

(04:36):
they were they were not able to win in this game.
Darius Slayton ten receptions, uh, two touchdowns, just had had
an incredible game. And he's definitely a guy that I've
kind of ignored off the waiver wire the last few
weeks with Sterling Shepherd potentially returning, but now it kind
of seems like, you know, maybe Shepherd's just not gonna
come back, and uh, and Slayton seems like he actually

(04:58):
seems like the favorite guy for Daniel Jones right now. Yeah,
Slayton has certainly paid off high dividends for me and
a lot of my leagues, both in season long and
in my daily fantasy and on the flip side from
the Jets, it remains to be the Jamison Crowder seems
to be the only guy that a lot of people
are willing to go and touch weekend in week out

(05:19):
or every other week. Your thoughts, Yeah, Jamison Crowder has
been fantastic. He's been very good for the Jets this
year in a way that I did not really predict.
I never knew if he was going to be able to, uh,
you know, become anything more than kind of a flex
PPR three kind of guy. But he's been really dynamic

(05:40):
and the Jets so well. The Giants, we do know
they have a terrible defense, so a lot of guys
can kind of have career days against the Giants. But
what was interesting was they were horrible running the ball.
The Jets were eighteen carries for thirty four yards one
point nine yards per carry for Levy on Bell. On
the other side, Sae Kwon Barkley three team carries one

(06:01):
yard point one yards per carry. Today, this was a
game that was you know, fully all of the damage
was done through the air and uh and you know,
got to give it to Crowder with a touchdown, but
also Damarius Thomas nine targets eighty four yards. You know,
another solid performance from him as well. Yeah, absolutely, And
of course the news at s kwon. Barkley then goes
back into the medical tent and the Giants have been

(06:22):
very hush hush. Should Barkley go down? Where should I focus?
If they want a piece of the Giant backfield, Well
it's Wayne Gallman. I think we we we've seen it before.
He had his start against Washington, then unfortunately he got injured.
He actually had a concussion and uh who was only
able to play a quarter of the next game and

(06:42):
then was still out four days after that when they
played New England on Thursday night. If Barkley missed his
significant time, Wayne Goldman is a guy, you know, he
would really be the number one waiver wire ad this week.
He would be a guy I would run out to get.
You know, he was very good in that Washington game,
both at running the ball and catching the ball. You know,
basically has shown he has what it takes to be

(07:03):
a starting caliber running back, and playing alongside Daniel Jones
does make his you know, his ceiling a little bit better.
There you got, we got our first nugget from Davis
Maddock our first name to jot down, although I already
have four written down, because that's the joy of getting
to talk to Davis each and every week. Of course,
you can follow Davis on social media and read all
of Davis's stuff as well, and we'll get into that.
But I want to talk about this, the Atlanta Falcons

(07:25):
heavy road dogs going into New Orleans. I'll be honest,
I didn't see this game going this way. I did
not see the Saints offense being as inept as the
numbers indicate your thoughts. No, I don't think anyone did.
I think that even as far as like popular money
line underdogs, and that's definitely a thing in the sports
investment community. You know, people do love their their money

(07:47):
line underdogs. I don't think that Atlanta was one of
those popular selections. I actually to show you how much
I did not anticipate that happening in this game. I Uh,
I used the New Orleans Saints in my Survivor pool,
so definitely did not see the outcome of this game.
And and really you can just see what happened. Uh,
the offense didn't take any shots. Drew Brees was thirty

(08:09):
two of forty five. You know, he barely threw any
incomplete passes, but they just were not connecting the ball
down the field. They were not making explosive plays. They
inopportunely just were unable to convert, you know, a couple
of tough, uh, third and fourth down situations. And when
you're not taking shots and you're not able to convert
third and longs, you're you're gonna lose, even at home
to the Falcons. Yes, even at home to the Falcons.

(08:31):
And we're gonna revisit this game to dive into the
fantasy implications now, because a lot of people were off
of Atlanta players then back onto Atlanta players, heavily on
Saints players. So when we come back to talk about it,
we'll get your opinions, your expertise as to what jumps
out from that game. But here's the game that I
think a lot of people got right, and it was
the obvious and you alluded to it at the top.
Baltimore at Cincinnati, they did exactly what they were supposed

(08:52):
to do. Both teams really know, yeah, they they did exactly.
Baltimore come completely dominated the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Cincinnati
Bengals were they were. They were the the Washington Generals
to the Baltimore Ravens Harlem Globe Trotters. Ryan Finley played
about as poorly as you would have imagined, uh sixteen

(09:14):
for thirty through a horrible pick six to Marcus Peters.
What was odd though, they just gave up Joe Mixon
thirty carries a hundred and fourteen yards and this was
with Jiu Bernard leaving the game with a knee injury,
so they didn't even you know, they didn't try and
activate or use any of their other you know, running
backs trevia On Williams sitting down there on the depth chart.

(09:35):
They just they just handed the ball off to Joe Mixon.
They were content to lose by thirty. And that's definitely
something that sports investors should think of moving forward. If
a team is going to give up down, you know,
to three touchdowns, that's a great spot to to start
to bet against them in double digit points spreads. And
how amazing is it that there were so many people
at the top of the season that we're all over

(09:56):
Joe Mixon and then a lot of people soured on him,
and now mixing actually has value because of the game
script moving forward for how poorly his team either intends
to or will play. Something very interesting to think about
how Joe Mixon gets value. All don't want to talk
about some other games here obvious value is in Patrick Mahomes.
Everyone excited that he came back. He didn't disappoint He
put up many many yards through the air, but the

(10:19):
team did not win the way they were supposed to.
Did you see Tennessee doing what they were doing today? No,
not at all. This this was very far out of
what I thought the range about comes was. And there
are two key plays that really changed this game. It was,
you know, Derrick Henry had I think a seventy five
yard rushing touchdown that really put the game on its head.

(10:41):
But then also the Chiefs were getting ready to kick
a field goal that would have moved the game into
a two score game from being a one score game.
And there was a bad snap on that field goal,
and it forced Dustin cole Quit to take the ball
and throw it away to avoid a turnover or a
sack or anything like that, and he was ruled that

(11:01):
he was ruled that he intentionally grounded the ball. So really,
without that play, without that bad snap, the Chiefs probably
walk away from this game with at least a three
point victory, probably a ten point victory. But we all
know now that is not what happened. They turned the
ball over there and the Titans marched down the field
and they they scored a touch Adam Humphrey scored a

(11:22):
really easy touchdown, probably the easiest touchdown he will ever score.
Ryan Tannehill got the two point conversion, and uh, that
was you know, kind of all She wrote Harrison bucker
at a field goal block as time expired. Yeah, and uh, honestly,
outside of those things that you mentioned here, perhaps the
final score would have been different. But Derrick Henry is
the number one fantashing running back as of this moment,

(11:44):
so you can't take anything away from that performance. Should
we look for more moving forward? Yeah? I mean, Derrick
Henry was not a guy I really liked coming into
the season. And it's pretty easy to understand why. In
PPR leagues, you get one point for just catching the ball,
and if you take away those easy points that you

(12:05):
get for simply securing the ball, uh, you know, sometimes
you're gonna lose fifty points to uh, to other guys
that are ranked next to you in the Fantasy Football
average draft position. And Derrick Henry, despite not catching those passes,
it it has not mattered. He has been able to
pretty much have you know, at least RB two weeks
every week this season. He is the primary goal line back.

(12:26):
And also the Titans have been a little bit better
than the market has expected their five and five, but
their point differential is not horrible. Most of their advanced
metrics paint them out as you know, a pretty middling
team and a running back who gets you know, twenty
or more carries on one of these middling teams. If
they're getting all the goal line work as well, that
guy can be really valuable for fantasy. And it would

(12:47):
not surprise me if Derrick Henry, you know, ends up
on some of these championship teams, you know, the the
FFPC Main Event or the NFC Silver Bowl, And it
really would not surprise me if Derrick Henry was on
those teams. Yeah, that's a ringing endorsement of a player
that may go undervalued in a lot of your league,
someone you might want to look at either a trying
to trade for or if you own him and you're out,

(13:08):
or if you're on the bubble and you want to
try to get some value and you still have some
depth at the position. Now, all of a sudden, these
two players, Henry and now Mixing also carry value and
you shouldn't overlook it that it's not the traditional value.
It's the outside the box value. And that's the value
that we give you here on the Pro Football Rewind.
That's the insight that Davis springs. It's the insight that
the good folks at zum TV and sports did bring

(13:29):
and it's the insight that you're gonna gain when you
come back, because we're gonna break down more games. We're
gonna tell you who to pick up, who to drop,
everything else and more. The Pro Football Rewind is everything
you need. So come on back, but I know we will.

(15:08):
but it could be thousand airs or hundred airs or
just hey, I won airs. Because it's all about winning
in fantasy football. It's all about winning in the NFL
as well, and we are able to take what happens
in the NFL and apply it to winning in fantasy sports.
The way we do that is with Mr Davis Maddock. Davis.
Now we're going over a bunch of the games here.
Talk to me about this Buffalo and Cleveland game, because

(15:29):
a lot of people do not know what to make
of Buffalo. People have written Cleveland off, and all of
a sudden, now they may be showing some signs of life.
Buffalo is probably the worst winning team in the NFL.
You know, you look at the things that they do well,
and they defend They defend the run pretty well. They
do have one very good outside cornerback. But you know,

(15:52):
as we saw in this game, having one really good
outside cornerback does not make you have an elite defense.
Jervis Landry was a bowl to get free, you know,
big time in this game. Ten targets, ninety seven yards
and a touchdown. Odell Beckham was targeted often and early.
But you know, I was not able to have a
huge fantasy game. I think that the Browns have a
very talented roster. I think they have a more talented

(16:14):
roster than the Buffalo Bills. Now, I don't think the
Bills are, you know, fraudulent. I certainly do not think
they are as good as their record they're likely going
to make the playoffs. As you and I have talked
about over the last couple of weeks, the a f
C is just so weak that the Browns right now
they can look themselves in the mirror with their three
wins and they can say, you know what, we're not
out of this thing yet. Because their their schedule really

(16:36):
opens up. They still get to play Miami a couple
of other bad teams. So and and also, I really
hope you didn't have to watch this game. It's my job.
So I did watch big chunks of this game, and
let me tell you it was not entertaining football. Neither
one of these teams plays a brand of football that
anyone really wants to watch. Uh And you can see
it in the numbers. You know, they did not Josh

(16:58):
Allen did not throw a asking touchdown in this game.
Eight carries for Devin Singletary, five for Frank Court really
not an enjoyable or aesthetically appealing event at all. Is
there any value in any wide out in Buffalo? Yeah?
I mean John Brown is still really good. Eleven targets,

(17:19):
seventy seven yards, and I actually think Cole Beasley in
deeper formats He's a guy that I find kind of
interesting as well. Uh, you know, he's not a he's
not a bad player, especially for what Buffalo is asking
him to do. But John Brown is the guy who
he really does have an explosion wheat coming. You know,
Josh Allen is eventually going to hit him on one
of those deep targets, you know. And then that's the

(17:40):
thing that Josh Allen was drafted for is he has
this crazy cannon of an arm. He's able to, you know,
get the ball down the field sixty yards, seventy yards
even in the wind, and him and John Brown have
not connected for one of those yet, but it's it's coming.
It's definitely going to happen. Absolutely. And the reason I
asked because I do own shares of John Brown across
the board. So I just think it's important for people

(18:01):
to realize that even though this Buffalo team, as you said,
they're not fraudulent, which was a great word, there is
still value that you can find and if you pick
the right week, a guy like Alan, a guy like Brown,
a guy like Beasley might be there for you. Talk
a little bit about the role Kareem Hunt played today
and what it tells you moving forward. He played it

(18:21):
a lot. He was targeted nine times in the passing game,
that was the third most on the team. Nick Chubb
had only four targets. He also saw four rushing attempts
and recorded thirty yards on those. He is playing more
than don Trelle Hilliard did. Really, he's playing a lot
in that role that Hilliard was playing in. But you know,
just just kind of a souped up version. So it's

(18:41):
kind of like a sixty forty split between Chubb and
between Hunt. Uh and and Hunt is a good running back.
So I don't see really any reason why he has
not earned this share. You know, I don't think that
Nick Chubb has been Christian McCaffrey or whatever in terms
of you know, just deserving every single touch, deserving every
single target. And uh, you know, if Cream Hunt is
out there in your league, probably would have been a

(19:04):
better pick up a few weeks ago. But if he
is out there in your league right now, this would
be a great week, a great time to go and
get him. If you're smart and you did stash Kareem Hunt,
then then you're poised right now for a great opportunity
for a player that is developing and is going to
be able to give you some viability. Now, I want
to talk about this Arizona Tampa Bay game. Vegas had
it at fifty two over under. It was the highest

(19:25):
point total of the day. They beat that by five off.
My math is correct, but I think the story here
is at a certain Arizona wide out finally did what
many were hoping he was going to do for the
last nine ten weeks already. Now finally, finally you you
said it, You said it perfectly. He did finally do
what all of us have been expecting him to do.

(19:47):
Now only ten targets, uh and and they did throw
the ball forty four times. Andy Isabella actually finally had
a good performance as well. But of course we are
talking about Christian Kirk six receptions a hundred and thirty
eight yards and retouchdowns. I mean, he was a fantastic
play in DFS. He was a guy, of course, that
you wanted to start in all of your fantasy leagues.
And the promise of the Arizona Cardinals offense has been

(20:10):
there all year long. I know they did not win
this game. I thought Kyler played pretty well in this game.
It was very odd though, what the Arizona Cardinals have
been doing so well over the last few weeks has
been running the ball. They've been, you know, one of
the best offenses in the NFL by dev a way
in terms of rushing the ball, and they did not
do that at all against Tampa Bay, which I guess

(20:31):
should be expected because the Buccaneers do have a good
run defense, and really they could have won this game.
But only uh, ten carries for thirty five yards for
Kenyan Drake, five carries for two yards for David Johnson.
David Johnson also, uh, you know, not involved in the
passing game, only one target, so you know, his fantasy
owners are not particularly enthused about that. But we have to,

(20:52):
of course give props to Christian Kirk, a huge day,
Number one Fantasy wide receiver of the day, and uh,
it's been a long time coming, absolutely, And you touched
on it a little bit with with Johnson having zero
value today. I mean I have just as many Fantasy
points sitting here at this desk then he had today,
and that's zero and I have to give thanks. I
heard a caller on a radio station say that, so

(21:13):
I thought that was funny. But who's the guy to
own now in that Arizona backfield. I mean, yes, Tampa's
run defense is exceptional. But moving forward, if you're trying
to own shares back there, who would Davis Maddick want
to own? It's it's still David Johnson. It's got to
be David Johnson. He you know, he looks like a
guy who's injured. He looks like a guy who, you know,
maybe should have been put on the injured reserved a

(21:36):
few weeks ago. But if he thinks he's healthy enough
to play, I'm gonna trust that he's healthy enough to play.
And you know, maybe with another week, you know, a
few more therapy sessions in the in the cryo tank
or whatever these guys have going on, you know, sleeping
in the hyperbarick chambers, maybe he will be ready to go.
After that. David Johnson would definitely be the guy I
would like to own, And in fact, you could probably

(21:57):
get him for an absolute song in most leagues right
now because his owner has just got to be fed up.
They have not gotten a good game out of him
in a month, and the last two times they've started him,
they've gotten under two points. Like think about how mad
you'd be if that was your experience with David Johnson,
you'd be ready to trade him for for just about anything. Absolutely,

(22:18):
And I think that's a great point, especially right now
as we look at which teams in your league sit
where if you find these teams that are frustrated, look
at their roster, look at their record, and think what
kind of trade can I offer this owner? Because that
to me, trades, waiver wires and obviously drafting well and
watching this show are the ways you win your league.
Something else out of this game, I see j Howard

(22:40):
the number three tight end in the fantasy world today.
I mean, what's what's going on over there at that
tight end position between Brandon Howard? Is there any value
at all at Tampa based tight ends? What day? Doesn't
take much to be the number three tight ended fantasy today?
You know, Travis Kelsey had a big day and then
everyone else just kind of fell in after that. You know,

(23:01):
this was not a banner day for tight end performances
in fantasy football. I will say this o J. Howard's
seven targets, that's his most of the season. For catches,
that's his most of the season. Now Jamis Winston also
through forty eight passing attempts in this game, So that
just kind of makes the pie that everyone sharing from
a little bit bigger. I would not be rushing out to,

(23:22):
you know, add O J. Howard, though I do think
pretty clearly you know he is gonna be seventy. The
staffs run routes on about of Jamis Winston's drop backs,
but your target expectation for him most weeks is going
to be closer to four than it's gonna be to seven.
And that's just a that's just a tough guy to
start win you know. I think even someone like Mike Asiki,

(23:43):
who you know, was of course not great today and
we're gonna talk about him in the second half of
the show, but I think even someone like that has
like a little bit more ceiling and a little bit
more floor than O. J. Howard, which is crazy to say. Absolutely,
And again this is why the season you have to
let it play out because it is fluid. I mean,
Ruce Lee said be like water, and that's exactly what
goes on. Like for instance, if you were all over

(24:04):
and O. J. Howard at this point, you probably have
cut bait and then a day like today, like Davis said,
it doesn't take much to be the number three tight
end fantasy football. But independent of that, it's something to
pay attention to. I want to talk about a team
that without their quarterback or a much different team. Detroit
Lions went into Chicago and they lost. Um I had
the right way, did you? Uh So, I definitely did

(24:29):
like the Chicago side of this game. But you and
I both know from watching that game, we definitely had
a sweat. Jeff Driscoll played way better than anyone expected.
And they had a chance too, They had a chance
to win. They they were driving towards uh they were
driving towards the end zone in the fourth quarter. Now,
Jeff Driscoll did what Jeff ChRI Skoll does and he
got a penalty and the game was over. However, the Bears,

(24:52):
they are just they're not good. They can't move the
ball on offense. It's it is. It is pretty tough
for me to think of them, you know, really doing
anything in the playoffs. Absolutely, And it's funny too because
Mitchell Trabisky number seven Fantasy quarterback of the day, and
again he's just he's a guy with many people don't
have any faith in. You look at the team up

(25:13):
and down. There just doesn't seem to be any fantasy
viability outside of the defense, which is also proven suspect
over the course of the last few weeks. Davis Maddock,
when we come back, I want you to get your
pens and paper ready, everybody, because we're gonna talk about
guys that you should be picking up, guys that you
should be dropping off, and what the trends are starting
to really mean now, because we're more than halfway through

(25:33):
the season. So if you are in a season long league,
you know what you need to do. As far as
DFS people go, we do it week to week and
hopefully you are collecting week to week because that's what
this is all about, knowing who to pick up, knowing
who to put down. All right, when we come back,
we're gonna put Davis inside the ring of fire. We're
gonna make him sweat. Davis is the man, and he's
always cool, calm and collected because he is David's Madden.

(25:57):
I'm that striker. This is the pro football rewind. Get
everything ready, ladies and gentlemen, because playoff talk is coming
up as well. Let's see how that impacts you. Everything
you need for fantasy football. Come on back after this.

(26:54):
all right, ladies, dum and welcome back in Rock and Roll.
Themes are what are abound here are on this Sunday.
This is the Pro Football rewind where we go forward
in reverse, santalizing everything that happened in the past week
of NFL, talking about today's Sunday and applying it to
all of our needs moving forward, whether it be season long,
daily fantasy or our sports investments. And that's what I

(27:14):
want to talk about here with Davis Maddick. Real briefly,
out of ten games here, six of them went under.
And I think that this is something that Vegas I
don't want to say they see it coming, but everyone's
riding this high, high high, and then something like Week
ten comes where you couldn't really throw a dart and
hit exactly what was going to happen. But if you
were able to figure out that games like Buffalo and

(27:36):
Cleveland and Detroit and Chicago, we're gonna do what they're
gonna do, I think you're able to clean up today. Davis,
your thoughts definitely. I mean, if you're ever able to
see the trend of you know, games going under, games
going over for a specific reason, you know, whether it
be whether whether it be a rule change or a
change in rule enforcement, I definitely think that's something if

(27:58):
if you ever see that edge, you absolutely you just
gotta pound it. And I think that what we saw
this morning though, with a lot of these unders, was
just we saw some very bad quarterback play and you know,
one of the highest total games at Landed New Orleans.
Both teams just played you know, you know, quite quite
bad on offense. And and anytime you think that there
is room for really bad, really poor offensive performance, you know,

(28:22):
whether you don't believe in the offensive coordinator, you don't
believe in the quarterback, or you think that maybe the
opposing defensive line is really strong. Those are are great
situations to get on unders because you know, no, no
one knows how miserable it is to sweat and over
when you just you can't get a quarterback to complete
a pass, you can't get them to get first down,
as I can't get in the red zone. We we've

(28:43):
all been there, We've all been sweating those bets out.
So I definitely do like a situation like we saw
Chicago and Detroit. You know, you just look and you say, Okay,
this is this is Jeff Driscoll versus Mitch Robiski. These
quarterbacks they can string two passes together. Gotta gotta be
on the under there, absolutely, and that's such a smart
way to look at it. So if you were on
the underside of things, you did come out on top.

(29:04):
From my calculations, only four team teams covered, but there
was one big road dog that really showed up. And
if you look at the numbers, I was looking at
something that said New Orleans. New Orleans was either seven
and one or six and two against the spread. All
signs pointed to the fact that New Orleans was gonna
do what they were supposed to do. Granted, the margin
of thirteen and a half that I was looking at
it the highest on the board and it was something
that was tough to swallow. Meanwhile, New Orleans only puts

(29:26):
up nine, Atlanta puts up twenty six and they still
go under the fifty one and a half. Uh. Vegas
obviously got wrong that New Orleans didn't do what they
were supposed to do. Correct, Yeah, they were wrong. And
when you look at it, really perform set up. Did
the Drew Brees injury? You know, they they went to
Los Angeles, they played in that game and they were

(29:48):
Teddy Bridgewater got put in the game halfway through and
he just really was not any good. And they've been
fine since then. In fact, they've been one of the
most dominant teams in the NFL since then. That has
not been the case in this game. They were. They
were bad and with Drew Brees is off, when Sean
Payton is not calling plays aggressively, what you're gonna get
is a more low scoring game because Atlanta does not

(30:10):
have any incentive to try and run the score up.
In fact, what Atlanta wants to do. You know, they're
sitting there, they're they're leading in the super Dome. They
want to hold the ball as long as possible. They
don't want to give the ball back to Drew Brees.
They want to run the ball, They want to throw
six yard outs. They want to you know, short passes
to Austin Hooper and Brian Hill and DeVonta Freeman. Those
are really the situations that you want to be attacking

(30:31):
or you know, that would have been a great spot
actually for a live and in game under is when
when you see Atlanta start to go into a shell
with their offensive play calling, and you say, oh, well
they're they're just trying to run the clock out. That
would be a really great situation to be on an
in game under. Yeah, you love to see six yard
outs when you're sweating in over. That's sarcasm. On the

(30:53):
other side, though, so that the Atlanta New Orleans game
was fifty one and a half total, that was implied
by Vegas here, but Arizona and Tampa Bay Is if
you want did to go the other way had fifty two.
Now here's something we've spoken about, Davis, and it didn't
come to be unless you were on the Atlanta side
in the Atlanta Orleans game. But it did come to
be in this Arizona Tampa Bay game. When you find
a game that has such a high over like that,

(31:13):
that tells you that there's DFS implications, there's going to
be a big plate from which to eat. Correct. Oh, definitely,
this was This was the DFS game of the day. Uh,
and and not not everyone got there in this game.
You know, Jamis had a fine day, Kyler got to
a thirty Draft Kings points. So definitely. Uh, the both
of the quarterbacks they didn't disappoint, but the big disappointments

(31:35):
where Mike Evans and Chris Godwin touchdowns were stolen by
Peyton Barber. Ronald Jones huge game. You know, one of
the guys I really liked on DraftKings today. I thought
he was a fantastic value and also a guy I
don't think he's out there on very many waiver wires,
but if he is, If Ronald Jones is out there
on your waiver for a while, I definitely do think
that he is an extremely solid ad. He's probably about

(31:57):
seventy percent on and so you know, some of our listeners,
some of our yours, probably he's out there. But this
was definitely the DFS game of the day, and it
was really interesting for the results in tournaments because you know,
Kyler had this really high score, Christian Kirk had this
really high score. Ronald Jones was one of the better
point per dollar plays of the day. But it was
kind of hard for stacks of this game to win

(32:18):
tournaments because so many stacks of this game had Chris
Godwin and had Mike Evans, who were two of the
worst points per dollar plays of the entire game. And
you know it that that's uh, you know, that's kind
of the the double edged sword of game stacking. It
gives you a lot of unique lineups, and it gives you,
you know, positive correlation between different parts of your lineups.

(32:38):
But of course sometimes you're just gonna be left with
with a stinker. You know, Chris Godwin got a fourteen
DraftKings points. You know, you could have just taken Davontae Adams,
who was right next to them at price, who got
to twenty two Draft Kings points, and that that's just
that's the nature of what we do. I'm sorry that
a lot of people got burned on a Winston Godwin
kind of combination. But if you listen to Davis and

(33:00):
read Davison, you understand things like, uh, no dollar per
point and things like that, how much am I spending?
What is this guy going to give me back? I
think that's so important, Davis. Where can people read more
about this type of thinking? Rhoto Experts dot com of
course for all of your seasonal fantasy football needs. But

(33:20):
there's really no one better than my friends at daily
rodo dot com Drew dink Meyer, Michael Leoni, Ricky Sanders
and the whole crew over there. Uh really does not
get much better than that in terms of daily fantasy content,
the absolute best projections in the industry, the best optimizing
tools in the industry. If you are really serious about
becoming a winning DFS player, there really is no better

(33:43):
place for you than Daily rodo dot com. Absolutely serious
as having my pen clicked. Because now it is time,
Davis for you to talk to us, and you did
the little segue there with Rolon Jones. Talk to us
about some players that we should be looking to pick
up and some players that we should be looking to
to the curve. So there's one player in particular that

(34:06):
needs to be picked up by everyone. If you're listening
to the show, you have first come, first serve waivers,
or if you think you might forget go and make
your waiver claims right now. Brian Hill for the Atlanta
Falcons twenty carries sixty one yards was also targeted twice
in the passing game. And not only that. He was
on my podcast last week, Mr Brian Hill of the
Atlanta Falcons, but DeVonta Freeman got injured in this game,

(34:30):
only had ten carries, then left left the game over
to Brian. To Brian Hill, he is by far the
number one Waiver Wire ad of the week. Think we
could pretty much count on him as every Waiver Wire
article is going to have him as the number one.
Of course, the aforementioned Ronald Jones is going to be
pretty close. I think there's another Saint worth, another Falcon

(34:51):
rather worth adding that's Russell Gauge had five targets in
this game. Is is a pretty consistent part of the
New Orleans Saints passing offense. Another player that kind of
surprised me was Brashad Perryman for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was targeted way more than I thought he was
going to be. Was kind of a consistent part of
this offense throughout the course of the game and looked

(35:13):
pretty decent. Actually had a long game called back by
a holding at one point. Also, as we shift our
attention towards the playoffs, we do need to start kind
of grabbing handcuffs, maybe to our running backs, maybe to
other teams running backs. But a guy that I think
has the potential to have big impact in the Fantasy
football playoffs is going to be Gus Edwards for the

(35:35):
Baltimore Ravens. Now, he had only four rushing attempts in
this game, but he would be the primary backup to
mark Ingram. And uh, you know, we know the Baltimore
Ravens are really one of the best rushing teams in
the NFL, maybe the best rushing team in the NFL,
because Lamar Jackson just opens up so much for them
on offense. So I definitely think that Gus Edwards is

(35:57):
again another priority ad for teams who are are looking
towards the playoffs. All right, and I love the Brian
Hill call. Of course, I follow on social media at
Davis Maddock, and you did have Brian Hill's name out there.
Once Edo Smith's injury became a little bit clearer, you
were on this, I want to say maybe Monday or Tuesday.
So I think that's why it pays to follow Davis
as well as to watch this show. Now, you mentioned

(36:18):
the playoffs, so why don't we look at if the
season ended today? And I understand that there are still
several teams that are a game or two out, But
if it ended today, according to NFL dot Com, the
a f C Wildcard round would be the Bills versus
the Chiefs, and the Steelers versus the Texans. On the
NFC side to be the Vikings and the Saints and
the Seahawks and your Dallas Cowboys. So are there players

(36:41):
on these teams that people should be going out to
try to grab? Because right behind them would be Oakland, Indianapolis,
the Rams, and the Eagles. There's certainly plays to make here, Davis,
aren't there? So I think you bring up a really
interesting point, which is the real life result of NFL
teams definitely impact our fantasy football teams. And there are

(37:04):
a couple of different ways that we need to think
about this. The first is, so is the team competitive? So,
Julio Jones, this is actually a great example a game
we just talked about Julio Jones last year, he's his
at his his targets kind of started a trend down
towards the end of the year, as did his snaps,
because they weren't playing for anything, you know, Atlanta just

(37:24):
they were not playing for anything. There's no reason for
a thirty year old Julio Jones to be out there
running around taking hits went for a non competitive football team.
We saw the same thing happen with Christian McCaffrey towards
the end of the year as well. The Panthers were
not playing for anything, so they stopped giving Christian McCaffrey
thirty plus touches game. I mean, if you were an
NFL player and you knew that your team was not
playing for anything, I don't know if you would be

(37:46):
super interested and going out and getting tackled twenty times
a game either. So that is the first thing that
we need to think about, is you know, what is
the motivation for these teams to be playing my superstar players.
That's why a lot of the times we like to
draft fantasy football players on on good teams, good offenses,
and that's uh, of course that seems pretty intuitive, but
obviously there are guys like uh Sae Kwon Barkley. Another

(38:08):
horrific Giants loss today, and they they're not gonna make
the playoffs, They're not going to be competitive, And say
Kwon Barkley left to the medical tent, Well, why should
they play sake Kuon Barkley? What reason is there for
the New York Giants or for sake one to go
out there and uh and risk his body in a
situation where the team is not gonna go anywhere, They're
not gonna win anything. So you know, Wayne Gallman, there

(38:29):
we go. Great pickup, I think, uh, in the same
it's true for the team that beat them today, the
New York Jets. What reason is there for Levian Bell
to be playing Blall Powell time Montgomery. Those guys are
are pretty solid pickups, And I would I would kind
of encourage the listeners to look around the league and see, Okay,
what teams do I think are just not going to
make the playoffs at all? Those are great situations to
start accumulating, you know, talented backups or maybe start trading

(38:53):
away the superstar players. You know, if you have Julio
Jones in a league right now? Uh, the Falcons, Yes,
they're coming off a win, but the not going to
make the playoffs, and Julio is used to just kind
of trending down anyways. So that would be a great
example of someone that I would definitely be willing to
include in a trade package trading him away from my team.
So I think that's fantastic advice, and we could just

(39:14):
use a pretty standard number. If you're in a fantasy
league and you're five and five and below, I think
that you shouldn't be afraid of trading a Barkley or
a Jones. But it's the question of of why do
you do it now? Davis, You and I have had
this conversation. There are players out there that once they
are four and six and three and seven and so
on and so forth, they stopped looking on the waiver wire,
they stopped filling in their lineups and things like that.

(39:37):
That's incredibly frustrating to the rest of us. I try
to put myself in the category of those that are winning, right, So,
how do you stay invested when you, as a fantasy owner,
aren't playing for anything anymore? Well, there are there are
a lot of different ways. I know a lot of
the leagues that I play in you know, they they
find a way to penalize tanking, whether it be you know,

(39:59):
a worst DRAP pick the next year, or you know,
a lot of other leagues offer consolation prizes. So if
you have the best team in the loser's bracket, you know,
maybe you earn two x your entry fee, or maybe
the loser of the consolation bracket gets first pick the
next year in the draft. There are a lot of
different ways to keep people motivated, to keep people, you know,

(40:19):
wanting to check the waiver wire to making trades. I
think that is actually one of the best things that
that I figured out, is just just make the consolation
bracket worth something. Just have there be a prize. Absolutely
in the prize for those that watch this show is
that they get to hear from Davis Maddock. When we
come back, we're gonna talk about more the four pms,
the one pms who pick ups the drops, everything you
need and more. This is the Pro Football rewind, your
