welcome back into the studio. This is the Pro Football Rewind.

the Pro Football Rewind where we go forward in reverse,
analyzing the day's actually the NFL and applying it to
all of your fantasy football needs, whether it be season long,
daily or sports investments. My name is Matt Striker, holding
it down at the desk. But none of this would

(01:20):
be possible without Davis Maddock. Now, Davis, we broke down
the one o'clock games in depth. We talked about a
lot of players that people would want to pick up
moving forward to try to give them that edge. Now,
let's look at the afternoon slate. Now, while there were
only a handful of games, there was a lot of
news and takeaways to come out of the four PM
So overall, what did you think about the second half

(01:42):
of the day. Well, the biggest news has to be
Miami there they're on a winning streak. No, someone someone
break up the Miami Dolphins. They they beat the Indianapolis Colts. Uh.
They beat the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis with rend Fitzpatrick
underhelm against Brian Hoyer. This certainly no one no one

(02:04):
saw coming. The Indianapolis Colts were eleven point favorites, even
with their backup quarterback end. I actually, I have to
admit I did bet on the Miami Dolphins. I didn't
bet them on the money line. That would have been
a lot better than betting them on ten and a
half points. But this also wreck Survivor pools is just
about as hard as the New Orleans Saints Rex Survivor
pool is kind of a crazy week for people who

(02:26):
play that format. But yeah, I mean, biggest news has
to be the Miami Dolphins looking like a competitive football team.
How dare they? How dare they compete? Because I know,
for me, the I had a few shares in Indianapolis.
On their defense, I had a couple of shares of Pascal,
a couple of shares at Max somewhere, and it just
none of it paid off of me. So this was

(02:46):
one that when I started watching the game unfold, I
just rolled my eyes, and I mean looking at the numbers,
the forty three and a half in Indianapolis, laying the
the eleven or I had ten and a half, depending
if you paid it down, and oh man, I just
think a lot of people lost their shirt on this one.
All right, what about this Carolina Green Bay game? I
mean green Bay from last week to this week or

(03:07):
two entirely different teams. Granted weather has a lot to
do with it, but what was your takeaway from that game? Well,
they didn't have the great Los Angeles nightlife to keep
them entertained. And that's basically what it's basically what Aaron
Rodgers said and kind of what the coaching staff said
as well. As they were like, they gave us a
lot of the platitudes. You know, guys weren't ready to play,
we weren't focused. And to me, what that says is

(03:29):
a lot of guys who spend about seventy percent of
their life living in a small town in Wisconsin, going
to practice at a you know, a place where and
and people think I might be making this up, but
this is a you know, a real thing that teams
that travel to these locations, specifically Los Angeles and New York,
they definitely, uh, they do see uh negative results as

(03:50):
a result of uh, you know, going out the night
before and that that's a real thing. And it's it's
kind of been you know, quote unquote proven by a
few people who have just looked at distances traveled and
things like that. But specifically Los Angeles and New York
teams do have a greater home field home court advantage
due to their proximity to fun things to do and
the Packers offense. I mean, Aaron Jones, what what can

(04:13):
we say about Aaron Jones at this point? Thirteen carries,
ninety three yards, three touchdowns, A fantastic game for Davontae
Adams tent targets a hundred and eighteen yards. Thought he
was pretty good in this game. But for me, uh,
and I'm curious what you think about this, Matt Aaron Rodgers,
it just doesn't seem quite right. Uh, They just whatever

(04:34):
magic he used to have, it does seem like it's
kind of gone. He missed Davanta Adams for what would
have been an eight yard touchdown in this game, just
kind of didn't put it in the right location. And
that's happened before this year, not with Davanta Adams, but
with Marquees Valdes Scantling. He had him several times for
a seventy yard touchdown and either put it where a
defender could knock and away or overthrew it, and just

(04:57):
we never used to see those things with prime Aaron Rodger. Yeah,
I think the thing is Primaron Rodgers is still there,
but I think he's an old school guy, and as
as a former athlete, there's an injury there, there's something
compromising him there that he's not letting onto. Otherwise, what
else is the reason the skill regression cannot be so
dramatic that he will miss the Scantling and I know
exactly the play that you're referencing from earlier in the year,

(05:19):
and then and then miss these guys the way he's missing,
because that's not Aaron Aaron Rodgers. There has to be
something compromising his physical ability because the talent is still there.
The drop off cannot be so precipitous that he's just
now missing guys as if he were a Finlay or
someone else. So that that's my take on that. But
I think you also bring up a great point. Last
week we talked about how when teams use jumbo formations,

(05:41):
how that can affect an answery receiver, and that's great strategy.
And then this week you come and drop the bomb
of which I don't think people think about, Hey, you
know something, This is a team from a small town,
or this is a team that had to travel all
the way across the country, and it's a true think
about these athletes and the lifestyle that they take. It
from me, I know, coming out of college, I'm still

(06:02):
very young. They are certainly going to be enthralled with
places like Los Angeles and New York, and I can
only imagine what's going to happen when Las Vegas gets
their professional football team. That's certainly something to pay attention to.
And I don't think that's something that a lot of
people are aware of. So great stuff there, all right,
talk to me about this, uh, this Pittsburgh Steelers game,
because I mean Look, the win is a win, but

(06:25):
hard to watch. Ordles got in this game. That's That's
what I have to say about this is Blake Bortles
got in this game. Now he immediately threw an interception
in this game, and I think it was honestly just
like a trick play. But you know, the rams, How
how the mighty have fallen? This was a super Bowl

(06:46):
team last year, a team I really believed in. You know,
I thought GoF was kind of the model of what
NFL quarterbacks would look like in the future, which is
guys with average arm talent, guys with average intelligence, with
really good accuracy. And say whatever you want about Jared Goff,
he is actually accurate on the throws that he makes.
And the where he struggles is with decision making. And

(07:10):
the whole deal of playing in Sean mcveigh's offense was
decision making was supposed to be easy. So he's got
you know, he's got Sean McVeigh in his helmet before
every play, and Sean McVeigh can tell him, Okay, this
is what the safety is gonna do, this is what
the linebackers are gonna do, this is the coverage you're facing,
this is the blitz that you're facing and then fifteen
seconds before the snap can't talk to him anymore. That

(07:31):
was the whole model. This is, you know, the whole
innovation that Sean McVeigh brought was, Look, I can take
any of these guys and I can turn them into
the quarterback that I need to run my offense. And
I think what we're seeing now is the hindrances to
that model, which is okay, Well, if you have a
guy with average arm talent and who's really accurate, but
who struggles with decision making, he's not gonna be able

(07:52):
to do anything when the play breaks down. And that's
what we always see with Jared Goff when the Rams
are trailing in these games, what he needs to make
play when he needs to escape a sack. And you
know that, uh, this is always my favorite move. And
you're gonna know exactly what I mean when I say
this is when the quarterback is feeling the pressure on
their backside and it's a right handed quarterback and they

(08:13):
spin around in a full circle on their right to
evade the pressure, and then they roll out and they
hit their throw. Brett Farb and Tony Romo are like
the best ever at it. Uh Patrick Mahomes pretty good
at it too, But I don't think I've ever seen
Jared Goff make that play in his entire NFL career.
And I literally do not know if he is capable
of it because of just how strict kind of the

(08:35):
the system and the rules are that he plays in
and because of his talent limitations. And I think this
Rams team that we saw today, this is just who
they are. They are a team that when they go
on the road to play a middling team, they can't
be favored, and they and they shouldn't be favored. And
that's a bummer for those of us who really liked
the Sean McVeigh model. And you know, it's kind of

(08:56):
a it's kind of a bummer just for football in
general that we really have one less elite team. Yeah,
but you, my friend, are a member of the lead team,
and there is no bummer when you're around my friends.
So it's very interesting what you talk about. Look at
when golf is playing against these complex defenses, you'll have
everything you need more of it. When we come right
back on the pro football rewe NFL season is now

(10:16):
in the wheel, does indeed keep on turning. Shout out
to everyone in the world that is turning and burning
and trying to gain victory in their fantasy sports world,
whether it be season long DFS or sports investments. And
Davis Mattock come back on in. I want to talk
about these four PM games. I want to look at
the over unders because they were forty three and a half,

(10:38):
forty three and a half and forty seven and a
half out of the three of them. All of them
went under. And it seems that the four o'clock games
were designed for the person that felt behind in the
one o'clock to try desperately to chase that victory. And
I think that's where Vegas ends up collecting more and
more of their money. What do you make of these
games all going under? It was definitely designed for something

(11:04):
because after some pretty exciting games in the early slate,
you know, we had the Baltimore blowout, we had the
big upset in New Orleans, we had the Jets Giants
game that was way more entertaining. I mean, they just
were not good football games. Miami, Indianapolis. I I barely
wanted to watch that Los Angeles Pittsburgh. That was just
a total defensive you know, really what it was it

(11:25):
was which quarterback is gonna blink first? And uh, you
know it was Jared Goff. I. I would say Carolina
Green Bay was pretty entertaining, albeit you know a little
bit low scoring. Kind of a weird thing that surprised me.
There is, uh, you know, people think of Kyle Allen
is having this really good season. He's actually twenty six
in the NFL in yards per attempt passing the ball

(11:46):
in in the NFL in QB R and he kind
of played like that quarterback today, you know, really Carolina.
They were kind of in it until the end, but
it took a flurry for them to get there. Kind
of took a defensive lapse from Green to get them there.
And I think the Carolina now now that we know
that Cam Newton is not coming back, I kind of

(12:06):
think we can we can say this is not a
team that's going to make the playoffs. Well, it's not
a team that's not going to make the playoffs. I mean,
we we see that. But obviously the value would be
in CMC just constantly going over a hundred yards. But
also there's a receiver in Carolina that seems to be
each and every time he's out there showing some value.
And who do you think that receiver would be? Oh? My,

(12:30):
my absolute favorite, Dj Moore, one of my absolute favorite
players in the entire NFL. Probably the guy I drafted
the most often in a fantasy football in a guy
I love to play on DraftKings. You know, of course,
full point PPR. We gotta love that for a guy
like Dj Moore who just catches everything in his direction. Uh,
he had eleven targets in this game, secured nine of

(12:52):
them for a hundred and twenty yards. You know dwarfed
Curtis Samuel's production. Greg Olsen did have a pretty good game,
And a weird thing we seen over the last few
weeks is Christian McCaffrey's target chair has kind of dwindled. Now,
we did see seven targets in this game, but that
was good for fourth on the team. So I don't
know if this is by designed by Ron Rivereia or

(13:12):
just there maybe trying to keep him a little bit
more fresh, or what the general gist of Christian McCaffrey's
lowered usage in the passing game is. However, I think
part of it also is d J. Moore's He's just
a real legit alpha wide receiver one in the NFL. Now, Yeah, absolutely,
And I love the smile that came across your face
because you and I both believe in this particular receiver.

(13:34):
But it becomes frustrating when that's all that there is
with this football team, and you want Alan to be
better because you want everyone around him to be better.
And I have a question for you, approximately how many
leagues are you in? So I'm in many leagues that

(13:54):
I have to manage every single day. Yeah, so I'm
in like twenty leagues that I have to manage, you know,
that I have to do waivers, that I have to
make trades that I checked the standings, and then you know,
if we're talking best ball leagues, I'm in three hundred.
It's just too many, too even I don't even know
how many of them I did. Sure, well, the best
ball is a lot easier because you know, there's there's

(14:16):
a lot less moving parts. So let's talk about these
twenty that you are in. Of these twenty, how many
are over five hundred? Oh? At least of them I have.
I have two teams that I can think of off
the top of my head that are really bad, and

(14:37):
one of them is in One of them is in
a very high stakes, very competitive league. So I'm not
I'm not super pumped about that, but definitely going to
be a good year for me. Uh looking at probably
making the playoffs in one of my f f PC
main event leagues and then just really the league that
matters the most. Though, I think I am on pace
to finally win my my home league. With all my

(15:00):
buddies from high school in college. You know, we've been
doing it for fifteen years, never wanted and I think
finally this is going to be the year. Wow. That's
got to be great bragging rights for your rest of
your buddies because here you are, there's big time expert
known pretty much all around the world in fantasy football.
I mean, people flock to you for information and and
some kid from your eighth grade science class is actually

(15:22):
beating you. And I think that's awesome that you're finally
going to get the chance to win. The reason that
I ask is because a lot of the experts in
the industry are in many, many leagues, but for the
most part, most people are probably only in about two
or three leagues. So that if guys out there can
manage twenty different leagues and be in the money, there's
no excuse for players out there that only have three

(15:43):
teams in a in a twelve team, maybe a ten team,
where you should be able to manage your teams. And
I think that's super important because if you're gonna go
out and want to say, let's say you're in the
market for a quarterback, who would be a quarterback out
there that is a available and be that will help
people advance their team. Is there anyone out there that
that jumps out of you. Well, I mean the first

(16:09):
thing is, anyone who's trying to win your fantasy football league,
I would tell you to do this, try and trade
for Lamar Jackson. Now, I know that sounds crazy. Who's
gonna trade Lamar Jackson. Who's gonna give away Lamar Jackson
right now? Right? Like? Well, of course no one's gonna
do that. Well, first of all, everyone has a price.
And second of all, if you're in a position to
win your fantasy league, you know, you have a good record,

(16:30):
Maybe you have a lot of bench depths. You know,
maybe you're just what you've had the most blessed year
you can imagine, and part of that year was you've
been streaming quarterbacks all year. You've been picking up Matt Stafford.
Maybe you had a Gardner Minshew for a little while.
Maybe you have Nick Foles now sitting on your bench.
And you wanna you want to win. You don't want
to be streaming quarterbacks in the playoffs. You want to

(16:51):
do You want to do the real thing. Try and
trade for Lamar Jackson or or maybe Patrick Mahomes. You know,
maybe Mahomes would be a little bit more attainable because
his owners are a little bit disappointed here and there
with some of his performance, I would say, far and away,
that would be the number one strategy I would tell
someone to do if they think they were going to
make their playoffs right now, is see what you can

(17:11):
dig up on your team and see if you can
make a reasonable offer to get Lamar Jackson as your
starting quarterback. It's fantastic advice because plenty of people say, oh,
I'll live off the waiver wire, and then you know
you run into guys like Davis where you can't do
that against them. But to tie in what we talked
about earlier, if you are a bubble team and you're
going out there and you want to try to get

(17:31):
a Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes and your SA Kwon
Barkley or Julio Jones owner, is that the type of
trade that it's going to take. Because I know if
I'm on the other end, I'm a Jackson owner and
you come at me and you want to give me
Jones plus someone, then that's something I'll think about more
than if you came at me with a basic kind
of deal. No, well, Berkeley is not a guy I

(17:52):
want to own. If I if I own, say Kwon
Barkley right now. I would definitely be trying to to
trade him away. And actually, I think the situation you'll
find yourself in is lot of teams that drafted Sae
Kwon Barkley are probably doing pretty bad in fantasy this year.
He's been hurt, He's been an effective, He's had a
couple of big games, but nothing like you know, Christian McCaffrey,
Ezekiel Elliott, Dalvin Cook, those guys have really been crushing it.

(18:15):
So se Kuon Barkley, yeah, trade trade him away right
now because there's definitely someone in your league who thinks
of him as superman, who can you get thirty points
every week and it just doesn't matter. And this is
actually a phenomenon that we see with it. Really any
running back who's really good but gets injured in the
middle of the season and then comes back a little
bit too early. It's just so hard to play the

(18:36):
running back position fully healthy anyways, because you're you're getting
banged up in the middle of the game. And see
Juan plays for a really bad team, so his scoring
opportunities are pretty limited. Se Kwan definitely a guy if
you could get, if you could get lamar for sake, Kuan,
right now, I think you take that, and I think
you you run away, Kitty. Yeah. Absolutely. When we come back,

(18:57):
we're gonna look at next week's schedule and Davis and
I are going to breakdown guys that may be valuable.
We're also gonna look at moves of ignorant owners and
how you can try to capitalize on that. Yeah, I
said it, ignorant owners. This is the Pro Football Rewind.

My name is Matt Striker, joining me as always the
one and only Davis Maddock, now Davis. We broke down
the one o'clock games. We talked about some players that
people should be looking at these four o'clock games. Have

(21:45):
they yielded anyone that you think is worth a waiver
wire pickup? There is uh an interesting situation. We talked
about him a little bit last week for the Los
Angeles Rams, but our boy Josh Reynolds five targets for
the Rams this week, not only three receptions and forty

(22:06):
nine yards, was out targeted and outgained by Gerald Everett,
another name that might be out there on your waiver wire.
But with Brandon Cooks seeming like, you know, maybe he
might be closer to uh not playing for the rest
of the season than coming back next week. I definitely
think that these ancilliary Rams pieces are are good ads.
You know, Gerald Everett, Tyler Higbee, Josh Reynolds, all of

(22:26):
those guys you know should have roles over the course
of the rest of the season, particularly Reynolds and Everett,
I think are our guys. I would like to add in,
you know, several of my leagues and the resurgence of
James Washington seven targets, ninety yards and a touchdown. Uh
juju Smith Schuster had only six targets in this game.
Same for Dante Johnson. Really interesting because James Washington went

(22:50):
to college with Mason Rudolph. They were roommates at Oklahoma State.
A lot of people kind of extrapolated that when Mason
Rudolph took over as quarterback for the Steelers and thought, well, hey,
maybe maybe it's gonna be time for for James Washington
to emerge. And then he immediately lost playing time to
Dante Johnson, and that was just kind of that. You know,
Donte Moncreave cycled in for a little bit. They play

(23:12):
a lot of two tight end formations with Nick Venette
and with Vance McDonald. But if James Washington is gonna be,
you know, a five to eight target a week kind
of guy, he's definitely gonna be someone that I want
to add because I really like him. I thought he
was a really talented player at Oklahoma State. And I
do have a lot of Big twelve bias. You know,
there's no one that loves Big twelve college football players

(23:32):
more than me. Probably but I definitely do think that
Washington is a is a great ad this week. It's
interesting you bring up the Steelers because I want to
look forward now to next week, week eleven, and what
are the things that we can extrapolate great word from
what has happened in week ten and the Thursday game
is the Steelers and the Browns. Which players do you

(23:52):
think are gonna show up on the stat sheet there?
So it's a very difficult question because of all the
injuries on on both sides. I do think that Jalen
Samuels has really earned a role on this team moving forward.
You know, even when James Conner gets back, and he
did his best in this game fourteen carries now the

(24:15):
only games forty nine yards or twenty nine yards on
those carries, and he was targeted only seven times in
the passing game compared to what he did last week,
where he was targeted thirteen times and secured all thirteen
of those receptions. But you know, he's a he's an
interesting player, a guy who with who's kind of multifaceted
in his skill sets, and and I definitely think that, uh,

(24:36):
he's he's earned a role for the Steelers. You know,
even when James Conner comes back from the shoulder spring. Alright,
the next game that is on the slate here is
this Jets and Redskins game. Now, I mean, my gosh,
there's gotta be some way to make some money on
this game. I mean, let's take the Jets. We we

(24:58):
just saw them. We just saw them be uh, we
just saw them beat another bad team. And I think
Washington is horrible. And if Dwayne Haskins starts this game,
I think they are even more horrible. I would probably
say the Washington team led by Dwayne Haskins is the
worst team in the NFL on a neutral field against

(25:18):
every other team by at least two and a half points.
So the Jets, the Dolphins, the Bengals, I would take
all of those teams, even the Ryan Finley lad Bengals.
I would take them over this iteration of the Washington
pro football team. Wow, amazing. Give me a line the
Redskins against Alabama Crimson Tide in Yankee Stadium. What would

(25:38):
be the line? That would be Washington by thirteen and
a half and uh and let me tell you, not
going to two touchdowns there is so disrespectful. It's so disrespectful.
It's like like because the line, the line of you know,
the Patriots against Obama would be thirty five or whatever.

(26:00):
Very funny. And I hate to poke fun at the
Washington Redskins. They are actually my favorite football team. There.
I've said it live for the world to know. All right,
let's talk about the Jaguars and the Colts. After what
we saw from the cult here, can we expect to
bounce back game from this offense or do we continue
to try to attack the min shoes shark kind of
combination for net and so on and so forth. But

(26:21):
it seemed like Brissette was gonna play. It seemed like
Brissette was healthy, seemed like he was ready to go.
And then all of a sudden on Saturday, you know,
after he had practiced every day this week. Uh, they
they were like, okay, Brissetts not playing, And you have
to you have to wonder, did they just think they
were gonna steamroll over the Dolphins anyway? Did they think
that they were just gonna win this kind of without

(26:42):
breaking a sweat and and we're surprised by what they
saw on Sunday. I kind of think maybe that was
the case because they need to be winning. They need
to be winning these games like they are in a
tight divisional race against the Houston Texans, and uh, you
know that that game would have been that game would
have been huge for them. So if Brissette is act
I like them against the Jaguars quite a bit. If

(27:03):
Brian Hoyer starts this game, if the Jaguars are are
giving points, like if it's two or three, I would
definitely like the Jacksonville side. All right, now, these f
fourmentioned Dolphins will play the Buffalo Bills. And now I
mean all bets are off no pun intended. You throw
your hands in the air because from this point, at
this point in the week, I don't know what to
make of this game. I'm definitely gonna have to wait

(27:24):
till probably about Thursday before I kind of start to
figure things out. What about you? Now, the Bills are
are I think are really well constructed to beat the
Dolphins because they they're probably not gonna make too many
mistakes on offense and a game that they're not trailing
because they're just gonna run the ball, and they run
the ball really well. And if you play a bad

(27:44):
defense and that's not going to stop you from gaining.
You know, really all the Bills need to do is
gain four and a half yards to carry because they
don't care. They'll run the ball in first down, they'll
run the ball in second down, they'll run the ball
on third down. And their defense is really good. Uh,
they have a great pass rush. And you know, Ryan Fitzpatrick,
we we forget right. So so what happens with Ryan Fitzpatricks.

(28:04):
He shows up and he has a great game like
he had against the Jets last week, or like he
had in Week one for the Buccaneers last year, And
people think, Lauren Fitzpatrick's great, right, why doesn't he start
all the time? And then you go back and look
at Ryan. It's Patricker's career, and you're like, oh, I
actually no, he's not great. He throws a ton of
interceptions and he's just way too addicted to risk and
that's just not gonna fly against the Bill. So I

(28:26):
think I would actually like the Bills side here, Like
I think I would maybe bet them all right, And
now this next game, what's the appetite? Looks amazing on paper,
it's gonna be the Texans and the Ravens. But depending
on how well the Ravens defense plays. People could get
caught taking an over on this game. What are your thoughts? No,

(28:48):
I I I would air on the side of the
over here because the Ravens defense. I know, they steamroll
the Bengals today, but it's not been great. And the
strength of both of these teams is not the defense,
it's their quarterback, their young mobile quarterbacks. To Shawn Watson
and Lamar Jackson, two of my you know, five favorite
players in football, probably I think they're both really fantastic,

(29:09):
and I think that they both have the ability to
push this game pretty high in terms of a total
and pretty high in terms of maybe maybe an end
game total. This would actually be a great game if
it somehow started slow, so you know, maybe maybe Watson
fumbles and maybe the Ravens have a really long possession
and it leads to a field goal and and it's
three zero at the end of the first quarter. That

(29:30):
would be a great place to hit the end game over.
Because what you have is, you know, the Texans offense,
like they got Kenny Stills, they have DeAndre Hopkins, Duke Johnson,
like they can score thirty seconds, and the same is
true for the Ravens. You know they have Marquis Brown
and Mark Jackson. I mean we saw them are today.
He just took his normal QB power run off to
the left and there was no one in front of him,

(29:52):
so he just kept running and then finally a safety
tried to stop him. Spin move, bounce right off him
into the end zone. No problem. So I think that
would maybe be an angle I would take to this game.
All right, The next game on the list would be
these Falcons and the Panther is a Falcon team that
put up twenty six points today, a Panther's team that
put up sixteen points today. Uh do we go to

(30:12):
the Falcons here based off of what they did today?
Or is it a stay away? I can't go to
the Falcons. I I go, I go with the Panthers. Still,
the Panthers are the better team. They have the better defense. Uh,
they have, you know, a much better offensive and defensive line.
They have of course Christian McCaffrey. And you know, I
think right now Matt Ryan is just not quite the

(30:34):
Matt Ryan that we have come to know love. Kind
of like what you and I were talking about with
Aaron Rodgers is he's got this ankle injury that he
suffered while they were over in London, and you know,
just is not going to be quite right as a
result of that. You know, can't plant off his back foot,
you know, hard for him to scramble a little bit.
And I definitely am not in the interest of backing

(30:55):
and injured Matt Ryan. So I would definitely think I
would lean towards the Carolina Panthers side of this game. Alright,
This next game I think has all the makings of
very high point total. It'll be the Buccaneers and the Saints.
I do not expect the same Saints that I saw
today to show up on Sunday at Literation Aside and
the Buccaneers just do what they do. What do you
think is gonna come out of this game? Oh, this

(31:16):
was the game of the year last year. This was
the Ryan Fitzpatrick DeShawn Jackson Milliemaker winner week for Daily
Roado for a Daily Road to customer used the Daily
road To optimizer. Use those guys and uh and one
the million dollars thought that was you know, so definitely
been looking forward to this game. Of course, what's gonna
be interesting is the Saints are coming off a bad week.

(31:37):
The Saints are coming off of Alvin Kamara, you know,
only having I think he had nine touches. Michael Thomas
of course had an explosive you know, just a total
explosion game because he's Michael Thomas and that's what he does.
I would say though, in general, Uh, this is definitely
a game where Vegas wants you to take the over.
They're gonna keep pumping that total up, kind of keep

(31:58):
moving it, you know, towards fifty five fifty six, and uh,
in that situation, you are better off holding an under
than an over ticket. Absolutely, still a handful of games
to get to. And also we're gonna get deep insight
from Davis as to how to spot an ignorant owner
in your league. Look for moves that they make and
try to attack, try to get a trade going with

(32:18):
that person. Look, we want to win, all right. War
is hell and Fantasy Football can be war. When you
come back, we go to battle after this Daily Rhodo
dot Com learned from the game's best DFS players. We
don't just give you premier advice. We play every day,

(32:40):
all major sports, all year round. We never stop. Industry
leading DFS tools and custom projections and now the Daily
Rodo dot com optimize it in minutes building, optimize line
up for cast games, and turneys learned from the game's
best DFS players joined Daily Rodo dot com. All right,

(33:23):
ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Pro Football rewind
Match Tracker. Here Davis Maddick. There you wherever it is
that you need to be in order to get ahead
of all of your fantasy football needs, whether it be
season long dfs or of course the very important sports investments,
ladies and gentlemen. So, Davis, I want to talk to
you about this next week's slate. I want to talk
about the Broncos and the Vikings. Where are you trying

(33:46):
to put your money? I will definitely be on the
Viking side of that game. I kind of like a
closet Vikings supporter. There's just something about them that are
really a while. I think maybe I like the uniforms,
Maybe I don't. I don't know what it is. Maybe
it's the fact that Randy Moss played for them and
those were like I remember watching Randy Moss like when

(34:08):
I first fell in love with football, and that was
really cool. But uh, I also just think they're a
better team. I'm definitely looking to bet against this Denver
Broncos offense with Brandon Allen under the helmet did not
work when it was the Cleveland Brown, so I'm definitely
hoping that it's going to work with you know, a
more competent quarterback. And I love the fact that we
may be stumbling onto another show here, which is the

(34:28):
Fantasy Football Couch, where we dive into the psycho somatic
reasons that a fantasy football player does the things that
they do. We've discovered your love for the Minnesota Vikings,
and maybe we can talk a little bit more about
how that makes you feel. I want to know how
you feel about the Cardinals in the forty Niners next week.
There's definitely a lot to do there in DFS and
sports investments. Well, I'll give you, I'll give you a guess. Yeah,

(34:54):
that I'm going to feel about the Arizona Cardinals versus
the forty Niners. I will I'm gonna be in on
the Arizona Cardinals. I'm gonna be in on Kyler Murray. Yeah,
they they and and they hung with them. The Cardinals
have been one of the few teams that's actually been
able to remain competitive against the forty niners. Uh they
they scored the eighty eight or touchdown with Andy Isabella.

(35:14):
I thought Kyler played pretty well man the Cardinals. When
they figure things out, when they start calling the right
plays in the red zone, they are really going to
be something. But Kyler Murray is the real deal. I
I'm actually ready to say this. I think that Kyler
is officially better than his former college teammate Baker Mayfield.
Look at that. You know something we need to get

(35:35):
on social media right now. There needs to be a poll.
Someone needs to do it in the production room or
just hit Davis up directly at Davis Matto because that's
a bold statement right there. You want to reiterate that
that you say, as of this moment, right now, Kyler
Murray is better than Baker Mayfield, and you'd rather have
Kyler Murray moving forward for the rest of his career
than Baker Mayfield. Yeah. I think I think Kyler is

(35:57):
more mobile. I think they have very similar arm strength,
but Kyler can just he can just do a little
bit more. He can get around the edge a little
bit faster. He can throw the ball while his body
is off balance, just a little bit better. I think
the thing that Baker might have on him is just
like stone cold accuracy. Like if if if I had
to choose one of those two guys to uh, you know,

(36:18):
knock a coat can off of a fence post from
fifty yards away, maybe I would take Baker instead of Kyler.
But I think for everything else, you know, and a
lot of it is decision making too. I think Kyler
makes tremendous decisions. He plays on this team where his
offensive line is horrible. His run game did him no
favors in this forty nine Ers game, and he just
made good decision after good decision. The only turnover that

(36:40):
he had today wasn't his fault. His wide receiver stopped
running his route, you know, just didn't get all the
way through his break. So I think, you know, I'm
ready to say it, Kyler, He's better than Baker. Yeah,
And he definitely does have that tool that you and
I both love, that mobility. And after watching Baker, we
see that he collapses the pocket on himself, and he
will always tend to run in the same direct and
when he scrambles out, and like I said, if I'm

(37:02):
seeing this, you have to believe the defensive coordinators in
the NFL are seeing this as well. All Right, how
about the Patriots and the Eagles. This is a curious
game for me because this is going to tell me
which Eagles need to be invested in, which ones need
to be disregarded. I mean, I've been off of the
team essentially, but there's a lot of questions here. Your
thoughts on the Patriots and the Eagles next week? I

(37:24):
think you can be off of the Eagles pretty easily.
The Eagles are they are, They're They're the good bad team.
They're gonna do really well against poorly coach teams that
don't have a ton of talent, because the Eagles do
have talent, and the Eagles do have a pretty good
coaching staff, but they don't have enough talent and they
don't have a good enough coaching staff to play New
England and think that they're going to get out of

(37:45):
there with an easy win. You know, this is a
team that kind of a great way for me to
gauge whether or not the Eagles are good is just
that first Dallas game. What happens in that first Dallas game?
How do I feel about what the Eagles are doing
against them. And you know what I gotta I gotta say,
I'm just not particularly impressed with Carson Wentz. I think
that Doug Peterson was doing a lot of really awesome

(38:06):
innovative things three years ago when they won the Super Bowl.
I think that the departure of Frank Wright has been
a huge deal for their offense and just for you know,
kind of the whole cohesion of that offensive unit. So
for me, I think this is just you know, the
Patriots playing another team that aren't good enough and aren't
smart enough to beat them. Yeah, and I think you

(38:26):
hit it on the head, not smart enough and it's
no shot at the intellectual capacity of the other teams
in the league. But listen, when you're playing the Patriots,
you do need to be smart and you also need
to be lucky. Alright. The final game on the slate
for next week that is intriguing to me is going
to be the Bengals and the Raiders. The only question
is where is the Raider value going to come from?
Is it is it a Hunter renfro or is it
is it someone like that? Or is it the obvious? Oh,

(38:51):
it's our guy, Josh Jacob's offensive Rookie of the Year
Rhoto Expert's favorite value of the Year Josh Jacobs. Uh
looks like he's gonna get about twelve hundred scrimmage yards,
probably score twelve touchdowns, and just kind of kind of
cake walk into finishing like us the eighth or ninth
best running back in fantasy football. And he's kind of
done it even without catching passes, which I think is

(39:13):
pretty tremendous and uh, not particularly easy to do in
this day and age of fantasy football. So I definitely
think we got a lot of value there. We're gonna
have value from Darren Waller, can have value from Tyrelle Williams,
and I think that kind of depending on price on
these daily fantasy sites. I think that Derek Carr is
a guy that you're gonna be able to use as well. Yeah. Absolutely,

(39:35):
And I think it's important not to overlook those type
of players in these type of games. So Davis and
the time that we've been together, we have broken down
Week one, Breakdown week I'm sorry, broke down one PM games,
broke down four pm games. We did Breakdown Week one.
We did that ten weeks ago. We talked about the
trends how so many games finished under and we look
at how that's gonna move forward with our sports investments.

(39:57):
I want to talk a little bit about some season
long stre outogy here and I've been alluding to it.
Finding out the ignorant or naive owner in your league. Now,
I will always look at what other teams do on
the waiver wire, and that kind of gives me an indication. Also,
in a lot of leagues, you personally know these people,
but there are other leagues where you may not know
them at all. And what are some things you look

(40:17):
for to say, I want to pick on that owner,
or I think I have a better football i Q
than that owner. What are some some telltale signs of
the ignorant or naive owner in your mind? We'll see
what they're doing with their bench. So if if a
team has two quarterbacks, two tight ends, two defenses, if
they're doing that, that probably means, you know, if or

(40:38):
if they have three of them. You know, if if
they have an extra kicker on their bench, an extra
tight end, and an extra quarterback, probably not super sharp
at fantasy football. I don't even think that that's really
a stretch to say. Another thing is who uses their
fab and see how people use their free age and
acquisition bucks, and you know how much are they spending.
If if we're this late in the season and they

(40:59):
still have ninety bucks left or a hundred percent of
their budget left, I think we can pretty reasonably say guys,
probably not that good at fantasy because he's not paying
that much tension, he's not grinding the waivers all that hard. Also,
another thing you can do is just see how people
approach defenses. If they just draft one defense, hold that defense,
use that defense all year long, come come, heck or

(41:22):
high water, probably not super good at fantasy. They don't
understand that we're playing a lot of these games based
on matchups kind of how we think that the Las
Vegas line is going to impact fantasy scoring. And that
would definitely be a guy that I would be wanting
to to trade from. Also, and and this is this
is definitely an angle shoot. But uh, you know, if
you're if you're in a group chat with with your

(41:42):
league mates, maybe maybe start a daily fantasy contest and
you go, oh, guys, let's let's play this for three bucks.
You know, it's just for fun. And then you know,
if they if they get into it. Maybe they'll start
asking you questions about dfs and they'll kind of subconsciously
tell you the values of that they think that players
have asked you about Daily Fantasy. Uh. That that's definitely
something that that I've ran into with some of my buddies.

(42:05):
A couple of times Davis used the term ankle shoot.
Am I learning that you my friend were a collegiate wrestler?
Is this true? Or no? Ango angle shoot? It's a
it's an old it's an old poker term. Like I mean,
maybe maybe I stuttered across the across our line here. No,

(42:26):
that's fine because I hearn ankle shoot and I was like,
wait a minute, Davis, just reference ankle pick? But poker
fair enough? Good anyway. Okay, So I like some of
the things you're saying there, and I want to talk
a little bit about the fab bucks here, because to me,
that's something what percentage do you find that most people
that don't understand how to budget their bucks throw out

(42:47):
on a player? Because I know that the amount of
percentage against what you have can kind of tell you
who knows what they're doing and who isn't based on
how they bid. No. Yeah, definitely I think people who
bid the aggressively early on on players that are difference makers.
That's gonna be an example of a guy who you
know they just don't really get it. You know, maybe
they're bidding twenty bucks on where he most start in

(43:10):
Week one and then you know they don't even ever
end up getting to start raheem mostirt, or maybe they're
bidding up. Maybe there's a guy in your league every
year who the first wide receiver that blows up. This year,
it was like John Ross and Terry McLaurin and Marky's Brown.
Those were the three ones who had huge Week ones
and people just bid a ton on them. So the
guy in your league who won that John ross s bid,

(43:32):
go back and go look see who won that John
Ross bid. That's definitely a guy that you want to
be trying to trade with because it just means he
doesn't get it. Wow, that's fantastic that you can actually
go back to looking at week two bids and see, oh,
look at that, you certainly overpaid for a Hollywood Brown
or a John Ross. And now that tells me everything
I need to know in Week ten, and I'm gonna

(43:53):
pick on you. Very very interesting stuff. Um help me
out here. We're talking about Brian Hill as probably the
number one aver wire pick up. How much of your
fab budget would you spend or advise someone to bid
on a Brian Hill moving into week eleven? Whatever you
have left, whatever you have left can go in on
Brian Hill. We we are in desperate We are in

(44:15):
desperate times, desperate measures. Uh, you gotta be getting difference
making guys on your roster right now, especially if you're
in a position where Brian Hill would start for you
next week. Uh, as the as in the Falcons game.
You know, assuming that DeVonta Freeman is out you, you
gotta be putting in whatever you have left on him.
I I know I'm in a league where I have
twenty one out of one hundred fab bucks left, and uh,

(44:37):
when you and I get off the air, Matt, I'm
going on. I'm logging on twenty one fab bucks. Going
in on Brian Hill right away is all in on
Brian Helen. I like what you're saying though, that we
are in desperate times calling for desperate measures, because if
not now, when you know you're gonna wait till week eleven,
You're gonna wait till week twelve. We've got guys like
David and people watching this show that have already been
where you want to go, and when you get there,

(44:58):
what you think you wanted is no longer there. That's
why when you watch this show. That's why when you
follow Davis on social media and you go to the
sites and you read everything, that's how you get the edge.
That's how you have and you want the edge you
get on the grid and that's what we do here.
Make sure that you follow us on Instagram and YouTube
at sports Grid. The Pro Football rewinds the only show
of its kind for several reasons, but one of them

(45:20):
is because we have Davis Maddock. So, Davis, you're talking
about trying to find the weak fantasy owner. How do
you construct a trade with the strong, smart fantasy owner
or do you just not bother? Well, you you probably shouldn't,
or you should. You should talk to the smart fantasy
owner and just say, okay, look, what do you need?

(45:41):
What off my team interests you? Because this is what
off your team interests me? And I think you can
trade with people who are smart, who are are intelligent,
who you know, use a lot of analytics and their
decision making. But you just have to. You just have
to figure out what it is that you value differently.
And maybe you're right and or maybe you're wrong, but
as long as you value one piece differently. So say

(46:04):
maybe you have a player. Let's say like if I
had mark Ingram on one of my fantasy teams. Mark
Ingram is not really a guy that I value all
that highly. Doesn't catch passes uh, and doesn't even get
all the goal in touches either, because Lamar is so
good at that. But there are other smart, reasonable people
out there who do like mark Ingram. So I could
probably trade mark Ingram for Courtland Sutton. Uh that that

(46:25):
would definitely be a slam dunk deal. The other person
with Courtland Sutton, if they like mark Ingram, they probably
love that. They'd be like, oh yeah, I'd love to
do that trade. But I would be taking away Courtland
Sutton and I'd be thinking, oh, wow, well that was
a slam dunk for me. I think I did, uh,
you know a great thing there. So that, to me,
that's just kind of where in lazy all right. I
like the inside. I like going into Davis's mind and

(46:46):
ladies and gem we're coming back. But Before we go,
we do want to thank our brave men and women
in the Armed forces and the families that support them
ahead of this Veteran's Day. We thank you so much
for the sacrifices that you've made so we can live

Wayne Gallman to replace sat Kwon Barkley, depending on how
long bark is out. There's a lot of good information
that came from this show, and ladies and gentlemen, you
