(01:00):
the Blues Qus and we hope that none of you
have the Blues. Here on this Sunday is the Pro
Football Rewine. I'm Matt Driker, joined as always by Davis Maddock.
We broke down the one o'clock games. We talked about
some guys that you might be wanting to pick up.
We looked at what teams were trending in which directions.
Now let's go to the four o'clock games, and let's
start with free football because this one took to overtime.

(01:24):
But to me, the story coming out of here, Davis,
this Tampa Bayed Seattle game, is Russell Wilson the best
quarterback in football today? Well, you think he's the best
quarterback in football today, or you think he is the
best quarterback in football period. No more modifiers to that sentence.
I think you're the expert, my man. I mean, listen,

(01:45):
it's a week to week thing. But my gosh, is
Russell Wilson number one fantasy quarterback for the day. Jimmy
Garoppolo was second. But man, just every time he doesn't
turn the ball over, make smart decisions. I I think
Russell Wilson, I'll say he's the best quarterback day. Well,
he was the best quarterback today. But Patrick Mahomes did
not play today because he has a knee injury. I

(02:07):
will say, my friend Ben Baldwin writes for the Athletic,
I'll give him a little plug there he what he
The point he made out to me once was, you know, obviously,
I think Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in football.
I think he's the best player. But what if Russell
Wilson played with Andy Reid as as his offensive coordinator.
What if he played with you know, just in a

(02:27):
system that really allowed him to be himself, we would
get what happened today a lot more often. You know, Seattle,
they have this very ground and pound philosophy. They really
want to run the ball. They really want to establish
the run quite often. But in games where Russell Wilson
gets to throw forty three times, he throws for five
touchdowns seventy passing yards. Tyler Lockett eighteen targets, a hundred

(02:52):
and fifty two yards, two touchdowns. DK Metcalf nine targets,
a hundred and twenty three yards and a touchdown. Jacob
hollis or six targets, thirty seven yards and two touchdowns.
His name is definitely gonna come up when we think
about waiver wire ads later on. But uh yeah, I
think the overall point I would say is Russell Wilson

(03:14):
and Patrick Mahomes are the two most talented quarterbacks in
the NFL. And and Aaron Rodgers used to be he's
just a little too old now. Just kind of does
that he lost, you know, just when you lose just
a little bit of that magic, it does, it does
change things up a little bit. But when Russell Wilson
is allowed to go and do his thing, there is
no one better. All right, fair enough, And let's not

(03:37):
disparage modifiers. Okay, I've built a career using modifiers, my friend.
All let's talk about this game that you just alluded
to and Aaron Rodgers maybe having missed a step here
that may have been evident as they go down against
Los Angeles. I didn't see this coming. And you and
I last week we're talking about how we thought the
Chargers were on a downtake. Was this a good game
by the Chargers or was this a bad game by

(03:59):
the Packers? This was both. The Packers were very bad
and the Los Angeles Chargers were very good. And if
you look at, you know, the the on field product.
One of the things they did that was a lot
better is they they played Austin Eckler Moore. He had
twelve carries, so that was definitely good for targets. So

(04:20):
he and Melvin Gordon were a lot closer in touches
than they had been in weeks past. Also, one of
the I would say one of the biggest things that's
been rough for them this year is Mike Williams was
a huge contributor for them on offense last year and
he has done nothing for them. He has been an
outright negative for them uh this year, and he finally

(04:41):
had a good game, was targeted four times, had a
hundred eleven receiving yards. So instead of their offense being
a ton of empty looks down the field to Mike
Williams that never turned into completions. Mike Williams finally had
a good game, was finally able to help them move
down the field. So that to me is, you know,
one of the biggest things is they used Austin Eckler Moore,

(05:02):
they used Mike Williams Moore and they were not just
drilling Keenan Allen with targets. And that's kind of has
been something that has been you know, everyone who gets
hired by Los Angeles say, I feel like they come
in and they go, Okay, I need to find ways
to get Keenan all on the ball, when really they
have so many talented playmakers it should really be a
who's open style offense. Yeah, you would think that's what

(05:22):
it should be. So the awakening to to Mike Williams
could change things. And also interesting point is that Melvin
Gordon is the number three running back today and Hunter
Henry was the numbers seven tight end today. So do
we write Los Angeles off or is there still something
in the bolt. I think there's still something in the bowl.
What they needed though, was they needed Kansas City to

(05:46):
lose today. So the fact that the fact that Kansas
City kind of keeps rolling on. If you if you
just look at the playoff picture, we have the Chargers
at four and five, the Raiders at four and four,
but then the Bills are ahead of them, and they're
they're kind of tied with the Steelers. You know, you
know what, man, the a f C. Matt, it's so bad.
I was ready to I was ready to say that
they need to kind of pack it in, but I'm wrong. Actually,

(06:09):
they they they can very easily make the playoffs. Still,
it's absolutely amazing here we are on week nine. But
to me, that benefits fantasy football players, whether season long
dfs or sports investments, because when you have teams that
still have a shot, that means that they're going to
really play, and that means that you can really make
the right choices as you move forward, and you need

(06:30):
that as well as this show to get that going.
Let's talk about those Oakland Raiders. They come in and
they for me, it was a surprise that they beat Detroit.
I had a lot of value and shares in Detroit's
offense and it paid off well. For me in DFS.
But I think the story here is that Derek Carr
is becoming a guy that you actually can bank on
your thoughts. So I think that something we forget in

(06:53):
the NFL is we spend all week criticizing coaches, right,
Like we say, all, this coach is an idiot. Well,
this coach doesn't call this play right, this coach doesn't
handle the clock right, and uh, you know what, Gruden
is not really an idiot. I I disagree with some
of the core concepts of his offense. He really likes
to run the ball more than I would call if

(07:13):
I was an offensive coordinator. But he doesn't make big
mistakes with clock management. He's pretty aggressive on fourth downs,
like when if it's fourth down, uh you know, near
the goal line, or it's fourth down near midfield, he
knows kind of not to take the cowardly punts. He
has good defensive coordinators, he has good offensive coordinators. He
has you know, really and he's accumulated good players on offense,

(07:35):
Tyroll Williams and Darren Waller. Those were really good offseason additions.
Josh Jacobs was a horrible pick in the first round,
but it's a lot better than giving two d touches
a year to Doug Martin. So I think what we
see with the Raiders is just a surprising level of competency.
And yeah, the Lions are not very good, so the
Raiders should be favored at home against another team that's

(07:56):
kind of on the fringe of the playoff picture, and
they they did what a home favorite should do. Now,
the Raiders defense is not very good. They gave up
four six yards three touchdowns to Matt Stafford. But also,
you know, when you're throwing forty one times, you're just
not gonna run the ball that much. Ty Johnson had
nine rushing attempts for twenty nine yards. J McKissick had
one long run and a long touchdown reception. But the

(08:18):
story of this game to me is world story of
of the a f C. I think really is the
Oakland Raiders are competent. How about that for a sentence.
The Oakland Raiders are competent, and that's actually a compliment.
And Jacobs the number two fantasy running back for the day. So,
like we said, and Davis hits it right in the head,
the fact of the a f C is wide open

(08:39):
means that there's value everywhere you look. Now we're up
against the break. I do want to get into this
Cleveland and Denver game, but I think we need a
lot of time to really dissect what's going on. Guys
are told to change their shoes at halftime. Teams have
such great expectations and they're falling short. Ladies and gentlemen.
The Pro Football Rewind is the place you want the edge,

(08:59):
you get the grid, and that is what we do
right here. We give you the edge. When we come back,
we're gonna break down that Cleveland and Denver game. No
mentions of Ernest Buyer, I promise, and we're gonna do
all that and more when the Pro Football Rewind returns,
Davis Maddock Match Striker, We're here. You gotta be here
as well. Come on back, y'all. Want to be the

(10:05):
two to make a thing go right. I am Rob Base,
he is DJ Easy Rock. Is that what it was?
I think that's what it was. This is the prof
ball Rewind, I'm Mat Striker, He's Davis Maddock. We're breaking
down everything that happened in Week nine, going forward in reverse,
taking everything that happened and applying it to all of
our fantasy football needs, whether they be season long DFS
or our sports investments. But Davis, here is to me

(10:28):
the elephant in the room. Cleveland and Denver, Denver wins fire, Freddie,
Landry and Beckham are told to change their shoes or
they cannot come out for the second half. What is
going on here? What's going on is this is a
poorly coached NFL team, and we probably should have known.

(10:49):
There was definitely smoke before the season. There were a
few coordinators, you know, an offensive line coach who is
not asked back in the twenty nineteen season after serving
under Hugh Jackson in and a few of them did
not have kind things to say about Freddy Kitchens and
to me, the biggest difference between last year and this year.

(11:09):
You know, I don't I don't want to put all
the blame on Baker Mayfield. I don't really even want
to put the blame on Odell Beckham or Jervis Lantry.
I don't even think of any of these guys as
having bad seasons. I really would like to place the
blame on on Freddy Kitchens and Todd Mounkin because this
offense that they have designed, it's just not good enough.
They are not getting Odell Beckham in space. They are

(11:32):
asking Nick Chubb to just basically run up the middle
a lot, and that's not really what he's good at.
That's not really shouldn't really be Nick Chubb's job in
the NFL. He's a very explosive, dynamic runner who should
be doing a lot of stuff off the tackle. He
should be doing some zone reads with Baker. You know,
Baker is fast, Baker is an athletic kid, and they
they called place for him like he's forty two year

(11:54):
old Payton manning it. It's really horrible stuff to watch
this Brown's offense, like lose thing to Brandon Allen, it
is inexcusable. Now, talk to me a little bit about
the backfield situation in Cleveland, because I do believe week
ten someone is elible eligible to return. Correct, he is

(12:14):
eligible to return. I'm not particularly worried about the Kareem
Hunt stuff going on in the backfield there. I think
that Nick Chubb is a superstar as far as running
backs go. It's really hard for me. I mean, he
probably is one of the I mean not probably, he
is one of the five best running backs in the NFL.
I think that what's going to happen is these don

(12:36):
Trelle Hilliard and de Ernest Johnson snaps. They're done, They're gone.
Those guys are not going to play another down for
the rest of the year. So Kareem Hunt's gonna probably
see about five carries a game, probably three targets a game.
That that to me sounds like what's going to be
his averages, you know, kind of over these next six weeks.
And uh, you know, we could talk about the fact that, uh,

(12:57):
the playoffs. This is how this is where it is.
If they win out and they go ten and six,
they can make the playoffs. That that's where we're at.
With the Browns. You know what, probably probably even with
nine wins, nine and seven probably gets them to the
playoffs in the a f C. So you know, they
better be picking their heads up because this is in
reach for them. And I would imagine that everyone in

(13:18):
Cleveland would be over the moon if that were the case. Now,
is Hunt worth a waiver wire pick up? Yeah? If
he's out there this I mean, and probably he's already
been added in a lot of your leagues, But yeah,
he's out there. I would imagine he's probably the top
priority claim this week because we haven't had a running

(13:39):
back injury anywhere. No, no running back got injured this week,
so I don't actually see a high priority claim this week. Interesting,
there's some interesting strategy right there for everyone watching. Because
of the fact that David says, thank goodness, no running
back injuries, you might be able to sneak in and
grab yourself someone like Kareem Hunt. Also want to talk
about the other side and this game in Denver? Uh

(14:01):
Noah Font the number one tight end of the day.
Has Font finally uh created himself to be formidable. I
was going for a literation there, but the F word
that I was choosing, couldn't he said, So it is
Font someone that people should be targeting, considering the fact
that tight end, like you said at the top of
the show, if you don't have one of the big three,
you're really kind of lacking. You hate your tight ends.

(14:22):
As Davis says, I actually love Noah Font. I think
he's a really good player. I had him ranked higher
coming out of college than his former teammate t J Hockenson,
who was drafted to the Detroit Lions. I thought there
was a reasonable chance that Font would be drafted before him.
Of course, never forget NFL coaches love blocking more than
anything else, and and t J is a very good blocker.

(14:44):
But what what fans showed is that he is just
a different caliber of player at the tight end position.
He's got incredible long speed, he has, you know, just
massive size. I think he has the makings of a
of a for real superstar. And the the biggest impact
of this trade of Manny Sanders to the forty Niners

(15:04):
was not playing time for DeShawn Hamilton's It was playing
time and targets for Noah Funt and and and I
got that one wrong. I thought this was a big
positive sign for Dayshawn Hamilton's and he is basically non
existent in this offense. So moving forward, and again I'm
adding it to the list for as far as tight
ends go, Doyle, Hollister, fund these are guys that definitely

(15:25):
could be valuable. Huh, definitely, I would say, and you
I think you put Fought at the top of that
list because Drew Lock is eventually going to get in here,
and when Drew Lock is in there, I expect him
to be a little bit better than Brandon Allen. Though.
I will say Brandon Allen he was competitive today. He
was he did not play poortly today, So then rank

(15:48):
it for him. You say Fonts one, then Hollister, Doyle,
How does that go? I would go Fought first, Doyle second,
Big Gap Jacob Polish. For Hollister, you probably don't even
have to spend any waiver wire dollars on You probably
can just acquire him, all right, So anyone else coming
out of the four PM games that you think might
be worth a waiver wire. Look, you know there there

(16:10):
was not really a ton here. I would say Antonio
Callaway five targets fifty six yards in this game. I
think he probably is as a semi decent waiver wire.
Ad If J D. Mckissic is out there in your
league and you are just grinding and running back, you know,
you just have no clue how you're gonna get points
at the running back position. Mckensick did have four carries

(16:32):
and was targeted four times in the passing game today,
I think he probably is pretty interesting. We can also
talk about some drops. I think that these secondary wide
receivers for green Bay, Alan Lazard, Geronimo Allison, Jake Kumero,
Marcedes Lewis, like a lot of these guys who were
playing time over the last few weeks. I think these

(16:54):
guys you can just kick them to the curb. The
only guys you want to own for other green Bay
Packers are going to be Davantae Adams, Marques Balda Scantling,
Aaron Jones, Jamal Williams, Aaron Rodgers, and maybe I mean
Jimmy Graham, but like I like, for example, I would
now take no offense over Jimmy Graham. Very interesting. And
now it's curious here because especially with the injury to

(17:16):
UH two Adams, of a lot of people, I mean,
what happened from week two to week nine where Geronimo
Allison's name, he was the sexy guy, and I think
it was in week one, I think he had like
zero targets. He was the sexy name, and now it
just seems that that's not the case anymore. How does
this happen in football such a drastic drop off. Well,

(17:38):
the biggest thing is that coaches come into the Wednesday practices,
They come into the meetings for players with different playbooks
every single week. And the Packers are a big team
in terms of their usage in every game versus eleven
personnel and twelve personnel. And basically what that means is
playing an extra tight end or playing a third wide receiver.
And when they play an extra ight end, that tight

(18:01):
end doesn't get any targets, you know, whether that be
Robert Tonyan or whether that be Marcedes Lewis. So Geronimo
Allison goes to the bench for that guy. And then
also they target their running backs so much that their
second and third wide receivers are actually more like their
fourth and fifth targets because Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams
get targeted a lot. And then obviously Davante Adams when
he's in there. It's just a target hug. So you know,

(18:23):
Marcus Vota, Scantling, Geronimo Allison, Alan Lazard, these guys are
really secondary targets. The thing with MBS is that he
is one of the most explosive per target players in
the NFL. So that's why I kind of think he
is still worth holding onto even through these dol drums.
Yeah and dull drums. Good word, And that's a very
interesting thing that you said there too as well. If

(18:44):
you have some of these fringe wide receivers, these these
answllary and tertiary wide receivers, you want to look at
which teams run jumbo packages because you hit it right
on the head when they bring that in. Those are
the guys, those answery receivers that are going to suffer.
So again, you get the strategy here. You don't always
just get the straightforward Hey, we like this guy dropped
that guy. There's thought behind everything and that's what Davis

(19:06):
Maddock brings. That's why he is so unique and that's
what makes this show so incredibly special. This is the

(22:06):
It is the best stub out there. And the thing
I love about that is, look, let's be honest, there
are I said, thousands of fantasy sports analysts and I
get it, and they say, you know, you've got to
do the work and you've got to do the research. Look,
I'll be honest. I remember my friends in college. They
would just wake up, go to their favorite site, plug
in their lineups, and boom, that's it. So if you're

(22:26):
one of these people that doesn't want to do the work,
You've got guys like Davis out there. They're doing the
work each and everyday, grinding so that you can win money.
And at some point, Davis, you will give away free
hair ties. I promise you that. Okay, my friend let's
talk about some of these lines here, because this Tampa
Bayed Seattle game, it went over and it was also,
I believe the highest line of the day. It was

(22:49):
at fifty three. This was a shoot him up, shoot
him up, wasn't it? Yeah? I mean this was this
was This was the game of the week. This is
one of the most entertaining games of the years. Me.
It's just how how fun is this when we have
two great offenses really just trading haymakers. It was awesome,
absolutely a total of seventy four points. Now moving forward, uh,

(23:10):
in these Tampa Bay games, Look, we all know that
that Jamis Winston just always wants to throw for five yards.
You know, there was actually a play where he dropped
the ball and Mike Evans on a defensive play actually
saved a touchdown. But moving forward, I don't know about you,
and I've been doing it the past few weeks. Tampa
Bay is a team I'm always looking for when I'm
doing my sports investments. What about you? Yeah, I love

(23:33):
I love Tampa Bay. I am you know, one of
the last six people on earth who still thinks that
Jamis Winston can be a super Bowl winning quarterback. But also, uh,
I am, and this is true. No one loves Mike
Evans more than me. Mike evans own mother may not
actually like him as much as I like. And he
is year in, year out, just my favorite guy to

(23:54):
have in fantasy football. I I think he is phenomenal.
And I think he's so underrated because as he has
had you know, a few seasons where he was closer
to you know, wide receiver twelve than wide receiver one.
And and he is just phenomenal. He gets open at will.
He he can't really be double covered because he's so huge. Uh.
And and I think he is just a huge part

(24:16):
of how competitive their offense is able to be because
Jamis Winson is a like he just likes to get
the ball out there. He just wants to throw the
ball up and let his guys make plays. And Mike
Evans that man makes plays. Yes, that man does. You
can read him at Davis Mattock. I know the Patriot
fans are gonna hit you up because you said that
their defense is underrated. But now I do believe that
Mike evans mother, Dolores Evans, is going to have something

(24:38):
to say to you as well, because Davis has gone
on record to say that he may very well love
Mike Evans more than Mike Evans's own mom. How about
that you get the hard hitting stuff here in the
Pro Football rewind speaking about hard hitting man oh man.
I mean this spread here in the Cleveland Denver game
with the point total of thirty nine. That really hit
me hard. And I was going back and forth on

(25:00):
I ended up staying away from it. But what does
that point total tell you about how Vegas feels about
Cleveland and about Denver and how do you feel about
these two teams moving forward as far as sports investments go.
I mean, I I have to come clean with you
because we're buddies, and I'll be honest with you. I
wagered real money that I really worked for in my

(25:22):
life on the Cleveland Browns in this game. I thought
not only not only did I think that it was
something I wanted to do. I like thought it was
the sharp side. I was like, oh, you know, the
people love to bet on Denver at home because of
the mile high advantage. The people are they're off the
Browns right now because they don't think the coach is good.
People don't realize how good Baker is and uh, you know,

(25:45):
I felt so stupid. About four minutes into the game,
I was like, oh, well, clearly they're just gonna lose
this game. Yeah, I gotta tell you something, man, that
to me, right there is a difference. Do you know
how many analysts wouldn't be that honest? At least you're honest,
And it goes to show that to everyone out there. Look,
everyone doesn't win all the time, and yes, we all
take our real, hard earned money and we put it down.

(26:07):
But what I like about Davis that he stands by
his picks. Now, granted, Davis, you win far more than
you lose, with the fact that you come out and say, hey, listen,
I didn't have that one that way, it shows me
that the people out there that are watching, that are listening,
that are investing in your words, they understand that you're
a human being as well. And I think that that's
something that that shouldn't be lost. So let's move forward

(26:27):
here in this Detroit Oakland game, with a total of
fifty and a half, I mean I was all over this.
They went over. They total fifty five points. But to me,
moving forward again, Oakland is a team that I definitely
want to be a part of in sports investments, as
are the Detroit Lions. Yeah, well they're there are two
really good teams for a for sports investments because they

(26:49):
have good offenses and bad defenses. And uh not only
not only do they have bad defenses, they have bad
passing defenses. We don't really care if teams have bad
run defenses because that probably just is not gonna matter.
That's more based on the quality of the offense they faced.
But if you have a bad pass defense, you know,
you're running out backup cornerbacks, you're running out undrafted free

(27:11):
agents at your safety spots. You're gonna get picked apart.
And the both teams did this today. You know, Derek
Carr twenty of thirty one nine yards two touchdowns. And
my my boy, Josh Jacobs, what a what a day
for him, twenty eight carries a hundred twenty yards two touchdowns.
Uh he he just he was phenomenal today. But yeah,

(27:31):
like like you said, both of these teams good offense
is bad defenses. That is a recipe for sports investment success.
All right, And here's a game that honestly, I know
a lot of people didn't see it going this way.
But for me, it's because one team didn't do what
they were supposed to do. This l A Grain Bay
game was a total of forty eight and a half
and and the Chargers did their part, putting up twenty six.

(27:52):
Green Bay did not, putting up eleven. Moving forward, how
are you going to look at these two teams? I
don't like the Packers like I like and I what's
always interesting is when you have a very different opinion
of a team than the public. So in the NFL,
the public teams are They're the Packers, the Patriots, the
Dallas Cowboys, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Those are teams with

(28:14):
fans in uh Thailand, those are they got fans in Argentina.
Like everyone in the world is fans of those four teams,
and uh so that just pretty much you can just
pretty much bet every Packers line is off by half
a point just because they're going to get so much
money wagered from people who are fans of the team.

(28:34):
And I am the other way. I think Green Bay's
defense is not so great. I think they have some
good cornerbacks, but I don't think their pass rush is
very good. And like I've mentioned a few times on
this show before, I think Aaron Rodgers is a good quarterback.
Now I don't think that he's a great quarterback now,
and that so I did like the Charger side of
this game. However, I really did not like the under

(28:56):
This game actually rose in total the hours four kakeoff.
It was sitting at forty eight, rose all the way
to fifty and did not look like that on the
field at all. Green Bay's offense was this is the
worst I've seen. It really was horrible. Very interesting now
that you've given us now two important strategy things. Earlier
on you talked about how when teams go to jumbo packages,

(29:18):
how it can affect those answerery in tertiary receivers. Now
you're mentioning about these public teams, these popular teams, and
you'll list them for me again. But those money lines
on those very popular public teams that everyone is aware of,
you find those to be just a little suspect. You
take them with a grain of salt, don't you. Yeah,
I mean well, and I fall very victim of this.

(29:40):
With the Dallas Cowboys. You know, I've been a Cowboys
fans since I was a really small kid. So like
I can't even myself. I I am a fantasy sports analyst.
I play these games every single day, I do podcasts
every single day, I do the TV show with you,
And even someone who is that dedicated to sport, I
can't be like rational about Dallas Cowboys to imagine that

(30:01):
existing for the whole world. And they think that about
the Packers, the Patriots, these teams, and so I just
think there's just a very powerful element of just avoiding
that bias in your numbers. And you said Green Bay, Dallas,
New England. What were some of the other teams that
you felt were public teams? So I think this is
a very important strategy to look at and and the Steelers,

(30:24):
the Steelers, the Patriots, the Cowboy and and really when
you look at it, it's very simple. Uh, the Packers
were dominant when the NFL was first getting popular. Then
the Steelers and Cowboys were the most dominant teams for
like twenty years, and then the last twenty years the
Patriots have been the most dominant teams. And kids who
grew up watching football either they get their team from
their family or they just like whatever team is winning,

(30:45):
like it's It's it's really as simple as that, so
those teams that have had sustained periods of dominance like that, Like,
you're not gonna find Bills fans in Texas, you know
what I'm saying, Like, like because the Bills just aren't good. Yeah, well,
I mean it depends on when when you came up.
You came up during the time where they made four
Super Bowl appearances, and then you somehow moved to Austin.
Maybe you will, but I think you would have bet
you would. You would have been a Cowboys fan though,

(31:07):
because because the Bills just kept losing, They'd get to
the game and then they'd lose to Dallas. I'm gonna
go down to Texas now, and I'm gonna find someone
wearing a Scott Norwood jersey. I promise you that at
some point in my life. What we promise you, ladies
and gentlemen, is all the information you need. And I
think what's great about this program is, Look, it's easy
to tell you players, and it's easy to tell you spreads.

(31:27):
But when we start talking about strategy, and that's something
that you can go and do your research, or you
could just go follow Davis. He does it for you.
That to me is the difference, which team runs a
jumbo package, which team likes to throw to a slot
receiver more. And also as far as the sports investments goes,
Davis makes a great point. Green Bay, Dallas, the Patriots, Pittsburgh.
These are the teams that everyone knows, but we know

(31:48):
that we need to separate ourselves from the pack. We
need to get on the edge. And if you want
to get on the edge, you get on the grid.
And that's what the Pro Football Rewind is all about.
Make sure you follow us on Instagram and YouTube at
sports Greed TV. Davis is at Davis Maddock, I'm at
Matt Underscore, Striker Underscore. Wherever you are, hit us up
on social media. Will answer your questions. When we come back,

(32:09):
we're gonna talk about how what happened today effects what's
gonna happen next week. All this information and more coming
your way when the Pro Football Rewind brings it back
right after. This NFL season is now upon us and
you can become the eighth person away one million dollars
in a Fandueler Draft Kings tournament by sending their lineups

(33:11):
All right, all right, we are rocking the KASBA here
in the Pro Football rewind on Matt Stragger and rocking
and rolling with Davis Maddick. Now, Davis, you have given
us some names here, and I want to run him
down because to me, it's my favorite portion of what
we do is about who to pick up, who to
put down. We have Damien Williams here. You think that's
definitely someone that people should be targeting. Yeah, your name, Oh,

(33:34):
I definitely think you need to be targeting Damian Williams.
He probably I would guess he's about six owned in uh,
you know, in in CBS leagues, Yahoo leagues, whatever. But
they're definitely are going to be leagues where he was
dropped and with Patrick Mahomes probably coming back and it
looking like he did just you know, he's taken the
job back. Away from Lashawn McCoy. Lashaw McCoy fumbled uh

(33:57):
last week, and after Damien came in, scored a touch
down and just looked better than McCoy today. So we
do really like Damian Williams. All right. How do we
feel about Trey Admunds? So I think you should add
him in very deep format. So you know, I play
in some of these leagues, thirty three man rosters, UH,
six teen teams. He should totally be rostered in those formats.

(34:18):
Because Benny Snell has a knee injury, it's looking like
he's gonna miss multiple weeks. Would not surprise me if
the team just put him on I R. As you know,
again we keep talking about the playoffs. That roster spot
is going to be really valuable in the playoffs, and
you're gonna want someone who can play special teams UH
in that spot as well, not just running back. Edmonds
can do both uh because he's healthy right now. So

(34:40):
I actually think Edmunds should be owned now. And it's
really interesting and a lot of those deep, deep leagues,
we all know, some of those waiver wires can just
be absolutely awful. So the fact that you're giving us
a guy like Trey Edmunds is certain that really is
worth its weight in gold. Talk to me about Keilan
Cole out in Jacksonville. So, Celan, it's gonna be a

(35:00):
really sneaky ad. Your league bates are not going to
think too too roster in because it was that, you know,
that London game, so a lot of them probably weren't
a lake, a lot of them probably didn't watch it,
and you know a lot of them. You know, at
least three people in your league. They own Leonard Fournett,
they own d J. Shark, they own Chris Connley, they
own d. D. Westbrooks, So they're not trying to add

(35:21):
multiple Jaguars onto their team. People just don't like to
add multiple players from bad teams onto their fantasy football rosters.
So killing Cole is gonna be a really cheap waiver
wire edition. But he just filled in. He was the
slot wide receiver for the Jaguars today and as D. D.
Westbrook has proven to us all year, that's a really
valuable role in fantasy, especially if this team is gonna

(35:42):
be competitive. You know, if they're gonna be trying to
win games, they're gonna need to be passing the ball.
Because their run blocking has been so bad this year,
and they finally went away from just hammering Leonard Fournette
time and time again in this game. And you know,
it was a very very positive disignal for killing Cole
who had a really good rookie year and you know,
kind of just vaporized last season. I think that he

(36:05):
is a pretty good player though. All right, now let's
go to Indianapolis, because there are some viable candidates here,
Pascal Doyle, they're definitely worth something. Huh yeah, I mean
Pascal in Doyle. I would say those are two of
the five highest priority waiver wire ads of the week. Pascal,
I would imagine that if t Y Hilton does not

(36:25):
play next week. No, I have not looked at Indianapolis matchup.
You know, if they play the Patriots next week, I
probably would not rank him inside my top twenty four
wide receivers. But if they you know, and just a
situation neutral matchup, you know, not great, not horrible. I
think Pascal, with this target volume and with how much
I expect the Colts to have to throw with Jacoby

(36:48):
Brissette out, I would think he's probably in like a
seven to ten target per week role. That's like, that's
really valuable off the waiver wire. Actually, Indianapolis will be
playing the white hot Miami Dolphins next week, so I
think that definitely makes Pascal incredibly attractive. Um, it's ill
b C. Johnson someone that you would go out to
get here or now that theelan is recovering, it's another

(37:11):
week for his hamstring. Do you think that BC might
be a guy that you can pass on? Uh, so
you don't need to roster him this again, this could
be a situation like Trey Edmonds where uh, it's deep
rosters only Like here, here's an example. I picked him
up in a twelve team, thirty three man dynasty league.
I picked him up when Chad Beebe went to the

(37:32):
injured reserve, and last week I traded him and Giovanni
Bernard for Marquees Valdez Scandling. So like that's the there
you go, there's in a situation where one he needs
to be rostered and kind of what his value would be.
There you go. He will be playing the lowly Dallas Cowboys.
I'm only kidding only because you're a fan. They'll be
playing Dallas dis Hey listen, man, we've been getting along

(37:53):
swimmingly for nine weeks. At some point, I gotta take
a shot. Pal, all right, I talk to me about
Dean Lewis. Is there anything there? I think there's again.
I mean, you know, we're we're talking about deep leagues
this week. That's kind of the trend of the show
because I think there are really only a few difference
making ads. Like when I go to go write my
Rhoto experts, Waiver Wire call him, I I do them

(38:14):
in tears and I go, Okay, difference makers, borderline starters,
and then deep leagues. Only this week, I'll probably have
one difference maker, It'll be Zach Pascal. And then I'll
have you know, a few borderline starters that will be
guys like Jack Doyle. Uh, you know, maybe that will
be someone like, uh, Cole Beasley for the Buffalo Bills,
you know, something like that. Another touchdown for Beasley today.

(38:37):
But there's gonna be a lot of deep league guys,
and I would say it also is gonna be really
dependent on what your team needs ahead. If you're eight
in one, you don't need Cole Beasley, you don't need
o the BC Johnson. You need as many backup running
backs as you can possibly find right well Armstead, Kareem Hunt,

(38:58):
if Leshawn McCoy gets dropped in your league, Alexander Madison,
Gus Edwards, Wayne Goldman. Because you are just trying to
find as many potential difference makers as you can and
O O B. C. Johnson is not going to be one.
You know, even Zach Pascal probably really won't make a
difference in the Fantasy football playoffs, but one, like we know,
running backs just get hurt. That's the nature of the position.

(39:19):
So start to plan for those contingencies. When does that
column post? When is that column up? That comes out?
So I pretty much I work on that all Monday,
you know, I I look at every team snap counts,
I'd read the injury reports. I try and figure out.
So that comes out about two pm Central Time on
Mondays on roto experts dot Com. Okay, so that's definitely

(39:40):
something to look forward to. So now is the portion
here where we look forward to next week and based
off of the things that we've seen this week, I
want to get your thoughts and it's just it's just
two and pass, you know, give me two thoughts here.
The Thursday game is the Chargers in the Raiders. Now
Chargers and the Raiders, I mean the Chargers. They could
lose that game, and it's lose that game. How great

(40:01):
would that be? You know what? The Raiders making the playoffs.
I'm actually rooting for it now. I think it would
be great to have John Gruden and Derek Carr in
a road playoff game. I think it would just be fun. Absolutely,
and somewhere Antonio Brown is very very upset. All right,
the Giants and the Jets. Uh, this to me should
be the Giants win this going away. But yeah, is

(40:23):
the answer. Here's the thing. I will the Giants are
gonna be favored. Uh do you know, I guess it
doesn't really matter who the Giants will be. The Giants
will be favored by. My guess is three and a
half points. Uh, you just I won't wager on this
game because I don't want to bet on the Jets
in any circumstance, and I won't wager on the Giants

(40:44):
and any circumstances really, So this will probably be a
stay away or maybe uh like a half unit on
the over, assuming the over is probably gonna be like
forty four. Alright, A couple of teams coming off a
bye week, the Falcons and the Saints will tangle. Oh,
this is gonna be this is gonna be a blowout.
The they this Falcons are not a guarantee to have

(41:06):
Matt Ryan back with that foot injury, although I would
assume he probably does come back. But the Saints are
They're too good. There's no way that Atlanta wins this game.
All right, the Chiefs and the Titans. Chances are Mahomes
will be back. He will, he will likely be back,
And uh, thank goodness, man, because because you know this

(41:26):
is you know how people are. Everyone is going to
spend the whole week being like Russell Wilson, m v
P best guy, No one's close, but like YadA YadA,
and he's great. And I don't want to hold that
against anyone. But then what do we what do we
do when Matt Patrick Mahomes goes out those four hundred
yards against the Titans with three passing touchdowns, and then
we spend the whole week talking about how he's the greatest.

(41:48):
So I greatly prefer the conversation when it's about Mahomes
because I just I love him so much. Love is
in the air when Davis is on point, talk to
me about this Ravens bank those game. Obviously, we'll have
to see what comes out of the Ravens Patriots matchup
from Sunday night, but on paper, the Ravens should beat
them now, and there may be a quarterback change in

(42:09):
Cincinnati as well. I wouldn't. Yeah, they're gonna win by
like a lot, right, They're they're gonna They're gonna be
favored by what do you think? I think they will
be favored by ten and a half points against the Bengals.
It depends on where the game is. That sounds like
a sound line. But we can apply everything we've been
talking about each and every week here on the show
as to how to approach that game from several different angles,

(42:30):
whether season long, daily or sports investments. Okay, here's one.
Here's one for you. The Bills and the Browns. I
mean another game, the Bills and the Browns. What's really
funny about this is, I think before the season, you know,
if you had just been trying to map strength the
schedule stuff out, you would have said, oh, this is

(42:51):
gonna be Browns by you know, situation a situation neutral,
you'd say they should be favored by four points probably,
and the Browns have been horrible. The Bills have been
great relatively well. The Bills have not been great on field,
the Bills have been really good at winning games. Football
Outsiders had them as the worst ever six win team

(43:12):
this early in the season. So I thought that was
I thought that was pretty funny. Uh the Bills, though,
I mean I would be I would actually at this
point legit be surprised if the Browns be this Bills team. Alright,
this next game here, I think should have a high
point total. The Cardinals and the Bucks. Oh, I hope
this is in the DFS main slade. I hope that

(43:33):
this is. It's probably gonna be one of the four
PM games. Oh, Man, Kyler, loaded up, Jamis, loaded up,
Evans Godwin. Probably Evans is gonna be like a potential
guy to lock in in m m ME lineups on DraftKings.
So I I this is These are like four of
my favorite players all in the same game. Yeah. Really,

(43:55):
it's almost like playing Madden, but in real life. That's
gonna be a fun one, all right. The Lions and
the Airs. Can Stafford put up numbers here yet again? Yeah?
I think that they probably I think that they probably will.
I think they'll probably win this game. So uh yeah,
I I as we've mentioned many times on the show,
I wager much more on offensive solidity versus defensive solidity. Yes,

(44:19):
as you should. And speaking of such the aforementioned Dolphins
and cults, I mean, gosh, you gotta be all over
Indianapolis here, don't you. Yeah, I mean, this is the
this is the toilet Bowl. We gotta we got a
third string quarterback versus Ryan Fitzpatrick. What if band Miami
could be favorite in this game, Miami could legit. Yeah,
I think that. I don't know if they will be,

(44:41):
but if this game is in Miami, I could see
like Miami by one, because I mean, Brian Hoyer is
really bad. He he is not a good NFL quarterback
like and the Colts roster is good, but there's just
only so much you can do with a lack of
talent at that position. This is true, Well, you have
no lack of talent at all, my friend. And I
gotta tell the people out there as soon as the
show is over. I always shoot Davis and email, and

(45:03):
I'm just absolutely amazed at the wealth of knowledge, and
truly it's helped me and I'm sitting here hosting the show.
It's helped me in my fantasy football, so it's got
to be helping you out there. Two more games quickly,
the Panthers and the Packers next week. What do you like? Oh,
I'd like the I like the Panthers. The Panthers. The
defense is really good. Uh, the offensive skill position players

(45:26):
are otherworldly. You know, Samuel D. J. Moore, Christian McCaffrey.
That might be the best wide receiver running back combination
in the NFL. Right now, all right, and the Rams
and Steelers close out the four pm slate. That's gonna
be a great game because we have, you know, two
really good, uh offensive coaching staffs. We have two of

(45:47):
the most creative run games. I guess the Rams run
game has not been creative this year because Todd Gurley's
knees are so anemic. But I'm kind of curious to
see if this is finally the game where they let
Rudolph throw a deep a lot. If you watched him
in Oklahoma State, he was like a great quarterback. He
really liked to throw the ball deep, he really liked

(46:08):
to push it, and they have not let him do
that at all all right, and the final game and uh,
actually I think we'll go to break. It's the Vikings
and the Cowboys, and we know your thoughts. You think
the Vikings are gonna roll all over them. So when
we come back, we'll let you talk a little bit
more about that. Ladies and gentlemen, it has been a
jam packed episode of the Pro Football Rewind. We have
listed over a dozen players that you can go out

(46:32):
and pick up. We've talked about strategies, looking at teams,
what kind of lines do they bring. All of this
and more is a difference. That's why the Pro Football
Rewind is so special. And we couldn't do it without
Davis Maddock. We couldn't do without all of you. My
name is Matt Striker. When we come back, we're gonna
get Davis's final thoughts and more. Make sure you come

(47:20):
we are the Modern Day Warriors on mat Stregory's Davis Madigan. Davis,
I was only teasing. I am going to let you
have your full full regalia. It will be the Sunday
night game the Vikings and the Cowboys. Your thoughts as
to what will go down. Uh, this is gonna be
a good game. This is gonna be competitive Dallas. They
have got a lot to prove and they have a

(47:42):
big game on Monday night as well against you know,
very heated, long time divisional rival, the New York Giants.
That's that's not gonna be. That's not gonna be a cakewalk.
Those divisional games never are. And I have a lot
of respect for the Vikings. I kind of rag on
them on the show because I talked about how much
I don't like Mike Zimmer's play calling. But I think
Cousins is an above average NFL quarterback. Step On Diggs

(48:03):
is a great, very talented player, and the Vikings are
Vikings are a good team. That's gonna be a very
good game. All right, ladies and gentlemen. It is math
based gaming intelligence that comes from Davis Maddock, And let's
be honest, you cannot argue with math. So Davis Week
nine is in the books. What's men your greatest takeaway?
Greatest takeaway? Uh, you know what, I'll give it to him,

(48:26):
Russell muscle, hustle and bustle man. Mussell Wilson. He's a
great NFL quarterback. The Seahawks are not very well constructed
from a roster standpoint. They they do not have the
best roster in the NFL. They don't have the best
roster in their division. But you know what, in a
playoff game with you know, NFC Championship, of it works
out that way that the forty Niners and the Seahawks

(48:48):
have to play each other, I would for sure bet
on the Seahawks in that game and not the forty
Niners because Russell Wilson is he is an incredible player. Now,
let me ask you what's the best piece of advice
you can give to season long players at this point
in the season. Given about seconds of advice, know what
you need with your roster. So if your playoffs start

(49:09):
in three weeks and you're on the outside looking in,
maybe you're four and five after this week or five
and four and you're and you're hustling because you really
want to get there, but you don't know if you
will be willing to make trades where you lose a
little bit of future equity to get points right now.
So if you have a guy who's on bye week
next week, and there's someone who's already had their by

(49:30):
and maybe they're ten percent worse than your guy, make
that trade because it's all about getting into the playoffs
and then kind of, you know, letting variants take place
from there. Or if your team is really good, you're
eight and one, nine and one, sacrifice everything to get
future points in there. You go sacrifice everything, and that's
what we seemingly do each and every week here on
the Pro Football Rewind. Ladies and gentlemen, that is Davis Maddock.

(49:53):
