Opelika Tourism waits.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Inside the thirty twenty five twenty wakes down the sidelines
ten five touchdown.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Now let's head to the stadium for more coverage of
Opelaikah High School football alongside legendary coach Spence McCracken, mac
McCracken and Jason Lee. Here's the voice of the Bulldogs,
Van Riggs.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Well Bulldog Nation. Welcome to Doug Sanford Stadium here in Auburn, Alabama.
Tonight the road to Birmingham, runs through enemy territory. As
you Ropelikea Bulldogs take on the Auburn High Tigers here
in the AHSAA Class seven A State Chemi Finals. A
winner will move on to the Super seven and a
shot of the state championship a week from Wednesday to
Simber third at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. Hello, everybody, I'm

(00:54):
being raised you on a last side legendary Hall of
Famer coach Spence mccrackett, mc McCracken and Jason Lee. And
this is more more than a game. This is a
rivalry that spends generations, and tonight it rites its next
chapter under the playoff lights. Now Auburn leads the all
time series, and earlier this season the Tigers got pasted
Opaula like a seventeen to ten, but history doesn't matter.
Now it's win or go home. Opal Like enters nine

(01:16):
and three, riding back to back playoff wins, and opel
Like has been fueled by a defense that refuses to
break and an offense that pounds the rock under second
year coach Brian More than Bulldogs have embraced the playoff
motto forged by the darkness. Opelika has been the underdog
all postseason. No different Tonight heavy underdogs, and he went
trustful in Week one and again last week against Baker

(01:37):
at Holman. The Bulldogs keep proving everybody wrong. Tonight, once
again the big underdog here at Duck Sandford Stadium. Across
the field, Auburn comes in ten and two. They're winners
of six straight in this rivalry and fresh off some
dominant playoff victories over Vestavia Hills and last week on
the road at Dafne. The Tigers have one of the
most balanced teams in the state too, averaging thirty two

(01:57):
points per game while allowing just for team. They've been
nearly unstoppable since mid season. But again, none of that matters.
Now forty eight minutes for everything here inside Duck Sanford Stadium.
Stans are packed. They have been this way since just
after five o'clock when the gates opened up and we
come back. We'll here from Opal like a bulldog coach
Brian Moore, as we get you ready for the showdown

(02:19):
of all showdowns tonight here inside Duck Sanford Stadium. Stay tuned, friends,
this is open like a bulldog football here on the kicker.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Now it's time for a pregame visit with OPELAKA head
football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank. Now
with coach, here's Van Riggs.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Big one tonight on the road here at Duck Sanford Stadium.
Visit with head coach Brian Moore, coaching graduations.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
On the win last.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Week, two big wins win a row here in the playoffs.
I know a big win coming up tonight, but I
thought your team just one of the most probably all
around best games we've seen all year out of your
team last week in that win against Baker. Talk a
little bit about that big win.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Well, yeah, I mean it was a certainly a big
win for us. You know, great crowd, great atmosphere. Yeah,
I thought the third quarter specifically was was what we
hoped to be.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
You know, it was explosive on offense, being able to
you know, use some things.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
That we've had this year, you know, you know, passed
from Jay Wash to Dre and I thought that was
really big. I felt like we needed to be aggressive
coming out of halftime. And then you know, our defense
gave up some plays you know, in the game. But
but you know it was a being but don't break mentality.
You know, they had to settle for three field goals.
We did a great job in the red zone, and
then offensive we did a great job in the red

(03:30):
zone as well. You know, a week after we didn't
play so good down there were four for four with touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
So great night.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Proud for our seniors to finish, you know, their career
here in Bulldog Stadium, you know, feeling like that, and
and you know we've been good at home and so
again it was another good performance in in Bulldog Stadium.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I know, it was encouraging a couple of weeks ago,
you know, to get that big win on the road
that you had trust for. You played really good at
Bulldog Stadium. I know a lot of the kids may
have been looking to maybe ahead at the third round
possibility that we've gotten tonight, but it didn't seem to
bother them. And I assume like they were focused on
the task at hand. I know you had a tough
challenge on your hands during the week trying to keep
that message across.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, for sure. I mean, you know, they knew.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
You know.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
I've learned though with kids to expose it and talk
about it, you know, don't don't ignore it, because that's
what they're thinking, you know. And so we talked about
being where our feet are, you know, living moment to moment,
day to day, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
And and and I told them, I said, listen, if
you want to think ahead, you won't have the shot
at them, you know.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
And to be here tonight, you know, is massive.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
And we've handled business so far.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Our team's certainly gotten better, you know, extremely proud of them,
you know, after the Enterprise game in Central game, to
stay connected right and get better, get some healthy bodies back,
and you know, and get you know, reinstate the pride
back in our program. Just proud to be in this
in this position. But you know, the work's not done.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
I thought your team matching up against them, what was
going to be the big key for us was a
line of scrimmage and then the guys on both sides
of the football dominated there.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
There's no question. I mean, we won the line of
scrimmage better we have this year. You know, we ran
for one hundred and eighty plus yards. They had very
few yards rushing, maybe like thirty five yards rushing or
somewhere in that range, and we made a one dimensional
you know, they wanted to throw the ball. But you
know those teams like that are better when they have
a little balance, you know, and kind of keep you
off guard. So I thought we did a great job.
You know, are bigs one. You know, we're getting healthier

(05:18):
up there too. A lot of experience, you know, through
these twelve games to get our guys, you know, to
understand the level of of you know, of effort and
toughness chefs to play with in seven eight football. So
I've been really proud of both lines of scrimmage in
the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Coach really impressed with the linebackers as a unit, Lake
Drick Bert's boy. You look at Trey Stone and Norman,
Matthew's coming up there kind of playing that rover position.
The boy he had a big game for you too.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Well, we've got i mean not only those three, but
you know elij Joden and Kate and Harris too. You know,
Elijah impacted the game. You know Kateen had a big
sack late. I mean just really able to shuffle some
pieces in there, put them in packaging.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
Norman is a difference maker.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
You know, three or four games this year we missed
him and you know he's another one that has to
impact the game tonight.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
We feel like he's the best in space.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
You know, he's long, reminds you of Carson Moss and
you know played behind Carson for a couple of years.
So you know, need Norman need Xavier Thomas came down there,
played a little strong and safety as well. Gives us
a little bit more athleticism there, more of a Nickel
right than a Sam and so it's good to have both.
Coach Dowdell has done a really good job with both
of those guys. So we'll need those linebackers to play
well again tonight.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
All right, we'll continue talking more about the Auburn matchup
tonight here inside Duck Sanford Stadium as we continue to
Coach Brian Moore after this time out here on the Kicker,
Welcome back here a Duck Sandford Stadium as we get
ready for a big match up tonight, one hundred and
first meeting now against the Auburn Tigers, and it'll come
in a big one here in the semifinals of the

(06:45):
AHSA seven h state Playoffs. Coach, when you met this
team earlier in the year, it was one of those
old school smash mouth type games. I'm sure tonight it'll
be a shootout. Who knows how this game will go.
But what do you see just that what stands out
for you at Auburn that makes them such a tough
matchup for teams.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
You know, a FIRS van, you know it was. It
was a slug fast But we're good with that, man.
That's where we that's where we live here, you know,
and uh, you know we obviously you know, the higher
score than the game is. We'll score if we have to,
but you know, we need it to stay down where
we all play great defense, win the kicking game. Auburn
is really talented. I mean, obviously they expect to be
here every year. Their program, you know, since the first

(07:20):
time I was here, had really you know, come, you know,
coming to its own and really started to develop under
coach Carter and you know, put them in the semi
finals and state championship a lot of years. But our
program's on that level too, you know. And so for us,
you know, we've got to be ourselves.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
You know.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Over the years, I think, you know, we've gotten too
hung up in who they are, you know, and talking
about matchups and all the kids know each other and
we live so close together and all that deal, and
we know the coaches. One of my best friends is
on the staff, and so you know that that makes
it tough. But if our focus is on us, you know,
and on a polaika and we look through the o
you know, that tunnel vision, those blinders, you know, try

(07:55):
not to look up in the crowd and try not
to see all the things around it.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
You know.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Again, they know each other talk all the time, you know,
but we've got to be us, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
We'll have to defend their pass again. The quarterbacks an
elite player.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Obviously's nantsec guy, four or five receivers that can really
go defensively, two huge interior people you know, both will
go about three forty in there, really really well coached,
do a great job of being being connected, not getting out.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Of position and giving up big plays. So what to
play our best.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
But again, we do a lot of information about those
guys and we expect to play well.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
I know, every time we talk about an Auburn game,
we usually go back to a to a trick play here,
a trick play there, a fake field goal, fake punt,
or a reverse pass double pass. They pulled one in
the game earlier this season against US. I know, you
go through so many years of film trying to pull
all those together, too, don't you.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
YEA, I learned from the best coach McCracken was was
I'd never seen anything like it.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
He go about years and years and years you.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Know, on a coach, on those old files that he had,
and but yeah, I mean, you try to anticipate things
they're going to do.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Obviously they're creative as well.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
They'll have things wrinkles, you know, things to do you
know in the game. So you know, for us it's
just again about having good eyes, you know, being disciplined
in the bike I tell you, you know, since really,
you know, the Enterprise game, with the amount of their tricks,
you know, and things that they do, we've done a
pretty good job.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
You know.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
We gave up a double pass in that game, but
you know last week they were going to do a
throwback and Brydon Howard and Antoni's peters were all over it.
So we've done a good job there, and we'll have
to continue to have good eyes and be disciplined and
look for those guys hiding on the sideline right those wheels,
those throwbacks, all those little things they've done in the past.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Coach, I know it's always cliche. You know, you'll do
this to win the game. You mentioned keep it low scoring.
But you know, when we come out on the other
side of this and we won the game, what do
you think would be a big kicker for us? Man?

Speaker 4 (09:38):
You know, if for us the message has been about
pulling them into darkness, I mean, it's been about you know,
making it our fight. You know, like I said before,
we're good with the slug fest. We're fine with seven
to three. We don't care what it needs to look
like our kids don't care about that, you know.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Dre and Bennett and Jay Washing, all these guys, man.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
They don't care. I mean, of course they want to
catch touchdowns like last week. He can make explusive plays,
and wit Cooper wants to throw for two hundred and
fifty yards or whatever. But ultimately, if Wit Cooper has
a hand the ball off fifty five times in this
ball game and CJ and Jalen and Blake take over
this game, we're fine with that.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
You know.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
For us, it's again about being authentically Opelikah, winning the
line of scrimmage like we always do, and just lining
up and getting after their tail.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
I mean, that's the key to the game.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Coach, been a great season, look forward to this continuing
after tonight and looking forward to a historic win here
inside Duck Sanford Stadium.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Thank you, Van go Donks.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Coach Brian More will continue more of our pregame shows
we get you ready for the big one tonight here
inside Duck Sanford Stadium. You're listening to Bulldog football here
on the Kicker. Welcome back here to Doug Sanford Stadium,
getting you ready for tonight's big one. Between Opelika and
Alvard in the semi finals of the seven eighth State Playoffs.

(10:53):
Welcome in, coach Bence McCracken. Coach, Well, I tell you what,
it is, a nerve wracking even that has been a
nerve racking day. Not for us, I know the players
and coaches and for both sides on the line tonight
in a big rivalry game. Coach, have you ever had
to deal with something quite like this in your career?

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Yeah, even when I didn't, coach, I got here in
ninety five and we're twenty five years excuse me, we're
thirty years in now, and it hadn't it hasn't changed
it be it? Yeah, this rival right here, And I
assume that Auburn High has the biggest UH school in

(11:29):
the state.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Correct, they're right there.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
They are number one? Yeah, yeah, or reclassify of course
after this season, but yes, they are the largest school
in the state. Opolaika down towards the bottom five.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
I was gonna ask you if we were near the
bottom five. We seem to be the underdog all the time.
But I'm gonna tell you what that man, this rival,
there's none better than this in the state of Alabama.
Even though we've lost the last six. And but I'm
tell you what.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Well, there's a lot of talk about the game going
on across the way at Central tonight, but I just
saw a photo about twenty minutes before kickoff, and there's
plenty of empty seats at that one. There are no
empty seats at this one except to the end zone
to our right, and the marching band for Auburn will
be occupying those here very very shortly. So you know,
that may be the two favorites to win the state

(12:18):
championship over there playing tonight, but the biggest game tonight's
right here.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Well, you know, and let me say a couple of
things here.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
You know, Auburn and OPLAK have never won a state
championship in football.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
I've checked all this out, and.

Speaker 6 (12:32):
It's a strange thing that that has never happened. But
somebody's got to win tonight and move on to the finals.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
Yeah, and we've been in the finals twice.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
That's right. Auburn has been in it three times.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
You said three, and we are oh for two and
they are oh for three.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
That's right. Auburn had the heartbreaker back several years ago,
and they look like they had Thompson beat in Tuscaloosa
in that game still haunts the Tigers to this day.
But hopefully this game tonight will haunt the Tigers for
a while too, as these teams show down and meet
for the first time ever in the semifinals, with a
winner going and dancing on to the state championship game

(13:12):
in Birmingham.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
So this.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Is a new animal for us man, and we've never
seen this before, and and I can't wait to watch it.
You know what, when when you give me these keys
of the game, I've been studying the keys.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
To this game and there ain't very many of them.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
I just want to tell you when we get to
them in just a minute, Well, it's gonna be. Yeah,
it's gonna be three or four big plays, and that's
gonna be it. Just like Hey, the Baker game was over.
At the midway through the second quarter. I thought we
went twenty one to six. I turned to you, buddy there,
and I said, Jason, this one's over.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Well.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
A lot of talk this week has been the quarterback
for Auburn, Casen Myers, who went down when opeall and
Auburn was leading only six to nothing. It was jd
pt the sophomore quarterback who came in took him on
the distance to win that one forty to nothing. Did
Cee Myers in warm ups down there? He is dressed
out and he certainly looked good in those ten and
fifteen yard throws. But we have heard j Ad Pate

(14:09):
will start the game, so we'll see. But that case,
Ad Myers is certainly available. They're star junior quarterback who
has passed for over to twenty two hundred yards of
this season, so it'll be interesting something to keep an eye.
All will take a quick time out when we come back, though,
Coach McCracken will be back on the other side of
our break with our Keys to the Game presented by Glensmiths,
Chevy GMC and ope like. As we continue with Opelikah

(14:30):
football here on the kicker.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
You are listening to Opelika High School football here on
ninety seven point seven kicker FEF.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Now it's time for Coach.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Spence mccrackens Keith to the Game presented by Glen Smith, Chevrolet,
GMC and opelike.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Got get ready to smile.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
All right, Van Riggs, here we go. I bet there
ain't gonna be many tonight. Because uh, this is gonna
be a total war against each other.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
I want to.

Speaker 6 (15:05):
Talk real quick about self discipline tonight. And the fourth
one is do it that way all the time, and
whether what I'm talking about is doing the right thing
and doing it on time, not getting penalties, and doing
it the best you can do it. And I this
thing about five or six plays tonight, I'm gonna scratch that.

(15:28):
We got to play hard every snap of the game.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Every snap is gonna be important.

Speaker 6 (15:36):
And we've got to do our job, which is to
play smart.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
And if we're gonna.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
Win tonight, these guys from.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Auburn, they they don't make many mistakes.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
We haven't made many either, But whoever plays the smartest
is gonna win. And this stuff about five or six
plays is gonna determine the game wrong. I'm changing my
last field that tonight. I think every play is going
to decide this game one way or the other. Nobody
take any plays off, and you play as hard as

(16:11):
you can every snap, and forget the first five minutes
of the game.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Last five minutes.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
It's a forty five minute game, and every second counts,
and every play counts.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
We need to block a punt tonight. I know our
kicking game. I think our kicking game is better than theirs.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
I think we can cause a turnover and maybe block
a punt. Don't have any stupid penalties on the kicking game. Offensively,
we got to make some big plays like we did
last year. Last week with Cooper came up with some
big plays.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Jalen Washington.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
We got to make I say, six big plays to
be able to win the game. We got to run
the ball or at least four or five yards. We
got to keep the ball away from Auburn. Keep the
ball away from Auburn. And lastly, on defense, which is
my favorite thing.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
They're gonna run about.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
I'm a bet Van Riggs they gonna run about three
trick plays all night. Yeah, and we better be ready
for him because last year they ran one over on
that other sidelines and beat us. And they all and
and they also ran their quarterback up the sidelines over here,
and and I hope Brian Moore's got a couple of

(17:33):
trick plays for them. You know what, man, I heard
the old man say this one time at a clinic.
He said, if you run your trick play first, the
other team won't run theirs.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
So I told Brian that I think that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Let's get the head start blind coach.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Will and one more and one more thing. Uh.

Speaker 6 (17:53):
On the offensive side of the ball, we have to stop.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Uh if it's a sozball, we have to.

Speaker 6 (18:01):
Stop third down conversions by Auburn third and fourth down.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
All right, That absolutely kills a team when you do that.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
Yeah, so let's say let's win the Hey, nor excuses tonight,
no moral victories, none of that. We need to win
the game and you and me and Matt and Jason
get to Birmingham for the finals.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Hey, I like that. Playing Coach McCracken's Keys to the
Game brought to you by Glenn Smiths, Chevy GMC and
open I Kates at sixty two, all of ninety five,
get ready to smile. Coming up more from Duck Sanford
Stadium as we get you ready for tonight's kickoff. Here
on the kicker, do you own a small business? A
seismic shift is coming.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
It's time to get super sure.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Welcome back here to Bulldog Stadium. Time for our coin toss,
which is presented by Rentals Outdoors. Rentals Outdoors locally on hunting, fishing,
Archery and Outdoor Store to take care of all your
outdoor sporting needs. It's Rentals Outdoor is Off. Genievas Street
and Opelika Blake, Johnson, Xavier Thomas, Josh Davis, Tremaine Thomas, Tanner,
Oliver and Tremaine Thomas the captains for the Bulldogs. BJ Collins,

(19:11):
Greg Williams, Antonio Welch, Ayden Parker and Carnel Jackson Junior
the captains for Auburn before they take center States. Mat
mccracke had standing by with our very first four seasons
Federal Credit Union sideline report.

Speaker 7 (19:24):
Mac well Man, we got a I mean this this
locker room before they are Vam Prescott gave a great
speech followed Vialkey.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Prescott was in.

Speaker 7 (19:33):
The seventy five game and made the game. Tackle him
allowed to beat the Alvin Tigers, and we just got
them all fired up. So you know, we just got
to restore the order tonight.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
All right, get your place back. White hat looks like
the same white hat from hewittt trustful so familiar official
here for the playoffs for the Bulldogs. Both teams that
know each other so very well. Shaking hands. Hey guys,
I'm mayor to the semi finals. All right, that's a
big accomplishment we've got to have in your game tonight.

(20:04):
That's mister Curtis, I'm mister Pittway were two of the
seven officials? Did you guys go happen that?

Speaker 5 (20:09):
All right?

Speaker 2 (20:10):
You're posing and told you to be captains for a reason.
Take care of your threety four hus. This is really simple.

Speaker 5 (20:16):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
If you guys have a problem, let the guys in
the striped shirts solving for you. Okay, I got any questions?
All right, We're gonna let you call it. That is
heads and that is tails. What would you like?

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Are you hearing him? Take tails? All right?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Tails is a call. I'm gonna plift this and catch it.
If I drop it, we'll fill it again. Okay, it
is tails. You've won the toss?

Speaker 5 (20:40):
What you want to do?

Speaker 2 (20:41):
All right? All right? Blake Johnson leading the pack there
for the Bulldogs winning the tosster for end of the
second half. So we'll see Auburn highs offense first when
we come back. One hundred and first meeting between Opolanka
and Auburn and kickoff is next here on the kicker
w kk R.

Speaker 8 (20:59):
Auburn like is Lee County's Best Country ninety seven point
seven kicker FN and iHeart Country Station.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Open like a high school football is on the air.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Stamped Blake Johnson. First down, He's got the sidelines inside
the twenty. He's got ten five touchdown, blown touchdown. He
somersaults into the end zone, waits inside the thirty twenty
five to twenty, waits down the sidelines, ten five touchdown.
It stays on the state, inside the twenty, inside the
tenth five touchdowns Timber time.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Now to the stadium for kickoff of tonight's game.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Here on the kicker. Fireworks show at Duck Sanford Stadium
to our left, smoke billowing across the way, and we
are just about ready for kickoff for the one hundred
and first meeting between Opelaika and Auburn, the Bulldogs and
the black Pants. Tonight, white jerseys, black numbers outlined in red.

(21:56):
Across the way. It is black jerseys for the Tigers
of Auburn, white pants, white numbers outlined in navy, and
the white helmets with a traditional A script on each
side of the helmet. Bulldog's kicking team heads onto the field,
had the Bulldog crowds on their feet with a cow
bells ringing. You could not fit another twelve people, maybe

(22:18):
six maybe seven people in here. I could say you
could squeeze one somewhere, but the hill side across the way,
it is completely covered. The end zone to our right.
The marching band from Auburn about to take those seats
in every seat occupied here at Dunk Sandford Stadium for
this big one here tonight. And Reyese Beasley has it

(22:39):
teed up and he will kick from right to left.
He'll kick towards the locker room area here at Dunk
Sandford Stadium. Beautiful weather, rain a little bit earlier, a
couple showers, but looks like it is out of the
picture at least for now. Total leather end over in
kick a high wood maybe turnable. No, it will get

(23:01):
about five yards into the end zone, hind a boy
and the Tigers will start from their own twenty yard line,
and we'll see the big question. Which quarterback trots out here?
We were told it was gonna be JD p But
we will see.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
We're gonna start t J.

Speaker 9 (23:18):
Thomas, Josh Davis, Monty Thomas, and Terres Thomas up front,
Bertz and Harris at the backers Griffin Howard, Xavier Thomas,
and Antonio or Peters in the secondary.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
JD. Pate will be the starting quarterback here for the
Tigers for their own twenty yard line. Two receivers stacked
either side, a hard count and a delayed snap and
a half off to Peyte and he's getting tattooed there
at the line of scrimmage by Trey Stone. He meets
him and takes him back right at the line of scrimmage.

(23:51):
I'll give him a half a yard, but that's it.
And the Bulldog crown jumping for joy right off the
bat and a pickup of one. They'll say up to
the twenty one yard line. It'll be second down to nine.
Peyton wants to throw this time. Pump Fakes takes a
shot across the mountain, picked up by the Bulldogs, hit
the twenty five yard line as Xavier Thomas he's inside

(24:12):
the ten five. Pick six, Xavier Thomas. What a start
for the Bulldogs. A pick six?

Speaker 5 (24:23):
Ah, that has never happened. Then, I don't know that's
ever happened.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Xavier Thomas's second interception, who his second touchdown of the season,
and the Dogs a point after away from taking a
seven nothing lead.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Wow, oh we got enough people out there.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yeah right now, Opelikah having to get some late players
on here for the extra point. Plenty of time though,
What a shot in the yard that gives Opelikah here
at the start of the game. Here a pick six
from Xavier Thomas as he entered accepted JD. Pate's pass
hold good and the kick is up and good Dogs

(25:07):
lead it seven nothing score and drive powered by Opal
like of power services, hometown people working for you.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Ay.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Pick six by x and the Dogs on top seven
to nothing. We're back after this. Here on the kicker,
heck of a start for the Opalhka Bulldogs.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
JD.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Pate intercepted by Xavier Thomas. He takes it twenty eight
yards to the house of The Bulldogs are on top
seven and nothing here right out of the gate. Here's
we are just underway and just like we started, Reese
Beasley has it teed up. He'll kick from right to left.
Three deep men for the Tigers of Auburn. Just eleven
twenty eight remaining here in this first quarter, and the
Dogs already leading seven to nothing. And again Reese end

(25:49):
over end kick sails into the end zone is on
thread afore and the Tigers will come out first and
ten from their own twenty yard line. Boy, the pressure
really on the sophomore quarterback. It's two sophomores going at
it tonight.

Speaker 7 (26:00):
JD.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Pate five nine, one hundred and forty five pounds sophomore.
Of course, on the other side broke alike. It's with Cooper,
a six foot, one hundred and sixty pounds sophomore. And
both these quarterbacks have gone up against each other all
the way through middle school. And Fate will come back out,
try to shake off that early interception, and they'll go
like they go a lot this year. Five wide. Look here,

(26:20):
three to the right, two receivers to the left side
from their on twenty yard line. Pate quarterback keeper straight
up the middle and he has slung back in the
back field and baby TJ slings him down. The ball
is down. Picked up in the ensign, they'll say he
was down moth at the fifteen yard line. Boy, this
dog defense all over JD. Pate and the Bulldog crowd

(26:41):
can't believe it. They thought that was a scoop and
score good and JD. JD. Pate there took a shot,
but he'll lose two yards. It'll be second out and
twelve from the eighteen yard card line, and they flag
in from the side judge. This may be against Opalaiko,

(27:07):
so that'll be an off sides against Opalaiko. So that
will give the Tigers five yards up to the twenty
three yard line. And again it'll be second down, second
and eight, second and seven. They'll say here Pate quarterback
keeper wants to run to the far side of the field.

(27:27):
Good defense. There he goes down, he'll lose maybe one
and a half back around the twenty one. Isaiah Great
chases down JD. Pate and it's third down. And now
Casan Myers comes in the ballgame on third down. So
Myers checks in here on a third and eight, pressuring
trush to the right, single receiver to the left side

(27:48):
of the field. Interesting to see how they use the
quarterbacks tonight. Byers drops back throws across the middle. It
is complete at the thirty four yard line and that
will be enough for a first down. So he comes in,
throws an eleven yard pass and gets the first down
for the Tigers.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
Heah got a mine, and we'll.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
See he will stay in the ballgame. Here Casen Myers,
who did not start the game. Bulldog's leading those seven
to nothing to pick six. That's the Bulldogs on top here,
but the first down Tigers from their own thirty four
yard line. Myers drops back throws one here to the
near side, caught by Welch, makes a man miss at
the thirty five brought down shy of the forty and
around the thirty eight yard line by Trey Stone. They

(28:29):
pick up that gets only about three yards a little
bit more than that even the thirty eight yard line.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Second shut.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
It'll be second down and six for the Tigers. Nine
thirty one to go here in the first quarter, two
wide stacked either side and a handoff left side up
to the forty two yard line around four yards there
on the handoff to Jaden Huff and it'll be third
down and short here for the Tigers. Tray Stone again
on the stop for the Bulldogs.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
They're going fast. I line up guys come on.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Four wide receivers to the right, single receiver to the left.
Dead god man, they got a flag on the Bulldogs
jumping in the neutral zone that will be up to
the forty seven yard line. Are the forty six. Check that,

(29:26):
but it will be enough for a Tiger first down.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
That's a stupid penenalty, right there. Come on, guys, play smart.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Two white outs to either side here for again. Casen Myers,
who checks in the ballgame, replacing JD. Pate. Myers drops
back pressure steps up in the pocket and he'll slip
past one and takes a hint from tray Stone at
the forty eight yard line. I'll mark him down to
the forty nine yard line, so that'll be a pickup
of three yards. But el Meyers certainly gotta be careful

(29:56):
taking shots on that shoulder. And tray Stone comes up,
he duck down weekly to avoid a really big hit.
Second and seven here for the Tigers.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Defen's got to make a play here. Now, come on.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Dog's leading seven to nothing here in the first quarter.
We got eight twenty five to go right at midfield
the Tigers or they're on forty nine. Myers throws far
side of the field. It is hauled in and caught
in up to or down rather to the forty six
yard line. That'll be a pickup of five yards. Good
stopped by Trey Stone.

Speaker 5 (30:23):
It's third and three now third and two.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yep, third down and three. Bulldogs get a new troop,
set of troops in.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
Load it up. Now they're gonna throw something, Just throw
something quick here.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah, four whiteouts, three to the right, single receiver to
the left side. Now it'll be a run play Jaden
King and he is gonna be short of the first down.
He carries it down to the forty four yard line,
picked up two and he needed three. So the Tigers
will keep the offense and go forward. Here on fourth down,
fourth and one here for the Tigers, trips to the
right side, come on, rides to the left, five wide.

(30:56):
Look here. Now they'll bring Jaden King in the backfield.
Need a yard. Myers checks the sidelines on this fourth
down and one here with seven twenty five to go
in the first quarter, Opalaka with a septh to nothing lead.
Myers gets the snap and Myers keeps it and he

(31:17):
lunges ahead and they're gonna give him just enough for
the first down down to the forty three yard line.
Picks up one yard, and that was just enough for
case of Meyers. A first down, Tigers down to the
Bulldog forty three.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Come on, boys.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Opelik has yet to have the ball on I fence
four wide. Look here for the Tigers four to the
right and singer receiver to the left side. Bulldog's lead
at those seven nothing thanks to a pick six by
Xavier Thomas, and we got under seven to go here
in the first quarter, Meyer's empty backfield. They all drops
back and that one nearly picked off. Complete, but just

(31:53):
to the thirty nine yard line and not much there
all right, that's up to the forty one year yard line,
I should say. Norman Matthews on the stop picks up
two yards. It'll be second down in eight six thirty
six o'clock. Running here in the first quarter, five wide,
look again here for Casen Myers trips to the right

(32:14):
and two receivers to the right fires in trouble throws
here near side. It is completed the forty yard line
and pushed out of bounds at around the thirty eight
yard line for three yards, and it will be third
and five. It looks like coming up here for the
Tigers for this pig right here under six Actually clock

(32:34):
stop was six twenty to go here in the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
He's gonna chark it now, come on.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
D Jaden Kings lined up to the left of Myers.
Three wide receivers to the left, single receiver right now
when batted down. Xavier Thomas flies in there and it's
fourth down, fourth and five, and nice job defensively there
by Xavier Thomas and the Tigers. I would imagine we'll
keep the offense out here on this fourth and five.

(33:01):
We'll see if they bring the punting team in they
gonna go far it. No call yet from the Auburn sideline.
Looks like coach Keith Erich just gonna keep the offense
out here on the fourth and five. This is huge,
Come on d five wide look three to the left,
two to the right. Here Myers and the Tigers down

(33:22):
to the thirty seven yard line. He drops back. Myers
gets the snap, flush steps up in the pocket. Got
a scene. He runs for the first down. He gets
down to the twenty six yard line and that will
be a first down Tigers. That shoulder looking pretty good
early for Casen Myers. He gets down to the twenty

(33:42):
seven yard line. That is close to a eleven yard pickup.

Speaker 5 (33:46):
That's three first downs.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
For the Tigers, two white either side. Myers gets the snap,
throws far side, caught at the thirty. Now that's ask
you makes a man miss. He's down the sidelines inside
the ten and four stut of bounds at the sixth
yard line. Big time play there. Twenty one yard pick up.
Can't get the Tigers offense rolling, especially now that Myers

(34:10):
is in the game. First in goal, Tigers at the
six yard line, and now they'll bring a heavy set in.
They're going to bring in their big defensive player, Carnel
Jackson in the backfield and also up blocking is Colin King.
Jackson will carry the football, not sure from this far out. No,

(34:33):
he will get it at the five and down close
to the three yard line. So they give it to
the big feller, Colin King, six one, three hundred pounder.
He may be like a jack hammer coach instead of
just a regular old hammer. Same formation again for the Tigers.
It will be second down in goal fall spoted down

(34:55):
at the three for the Tigers. They'll give it to
the big fella again and he is in the ends
on for the Tiger touchdown. Auburn answers with five point
twenty five to play in the first quarter, a point
after away from tying this one up. Bulldogs have yet
to get the ball on offence. But after that early
interception by JD. Pate, Cason Myers a couple of plays

(35:17):
with the Tigers and they march it on down the field.
Here is the extra point from Joseph Daniel to try
to tie this game up. Here, extra point attempt coming
from the Tigers. Snap low got it up though, and

(35:37):
the kick is up and the kick is good. Auburn
ties it up seven seven. We're back after this time out.
You're listen, no, but like a football on the kicker
well case and Myers off the bench. He leads the
Tigers down the field and Auburn ties it up now

(35:58):
seven to seven. Bulldogs offense looking to get the ball
for the first time tonight with five twenty five to go.
Here in the first quarter of play.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
Y'all played better defense and work with playing hass Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Gave up some big third downs and one big fourth
down and five on that drive. Bulldogs have a chance
for a returning here the twenty. Here go CJ. Twenty
five flag down though, back at the twenty yard line,
and that's going to to gate this big run by C. J.
Johnson up across the thirty five yard line. But it
will come back as indication here will be a hole

(36:31):
somewhere around the twenty yard line against the Bulldogs, So
a hold against Okalaika that'll back up the offense. Opelikah
tie it up now with Auburn seven to seven. Opelika's
offense though on the field for the first time tonight.

(36:51):
We'll see Wit Cooper, CJ. Johnson what they can do
against this really good Tiger defense and they'll be backed
up here. Opelikah will start from their own twelve yard line.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Julian Pritchett, Jeremy Dillard, Corbyn Firs, Darris Widlow, and Eric
placing up front.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
So Bulldogs starting field position for their first offensive snap
for their own twelve yard line with Cooper out of
the shotgun and hand off left side and a good
push across the fifteen up to the sixteen yard line,
and that was C. J. Johnson on the carry, So

(37:28):
they marked the ball down at the fifteen a three
yard pickup there for Opal like it'll be second down
and seven and Cooper will go under center. Now one
wide out either side, single back set is CJ. Johnson.
Cooper again under center from his own fifteen yard line.

(37:49):
They'll bring Washington in motion. They'll fake it to Washington
inside hand off to Blake Johnson, and Johnson's got a
good carry across the twenty and he's up to the
twenty four yard line. It's a nine yard pickup and
a Lambert transfer in storage. First down four thirty two
to go here in the first quarter and a tie
ball game here seven seven Bulldogs. First down from there

(38:12):
on twenty four yard line.

Speaker 5 (38:15):
Good block in my offensive line.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Two wide receivers to the left side. Cooper will throw
here near side, caught by Washington. Got a good block,
made a couple defenders miss. He's across the thirty up
to the thirty two yard line, and that's a quick
eight yard pickup. Close to another first down. Fro Palako
should be two yard shy of the first down here,

(38:37):
looks like it'll be second down in two of the
Bulldogs look to go fast here here on the near
side of the field, two wide left, single receiver to
the right for Cooper went drops back, throws a fade
passed down field, try to get into Washington, and there
comes the flag at the fifty yard line, and that
was defended down field by number eighteen graand fourth offer

(39:01):
and it should be a pass interference fifteen yarder. We
did a good job floating that one up. They put
a little too much air under that one, but he
gave the defender time to interfere with the wide receiver.
The white hat has yet to signal the penalty in

(39:23):
what boy, a hold against Opalaika and a pass interference
and they on negate each other. Boy, I did not
see the flag at the line of scrimmage. Boy, that
was a mighty That was a mighty quick pass for
a whole gole. So replay the down. It's only second
and two though for Opalaika, but that in the gate
set pass interference, third down and second down in two

(39:47):
Bulldogs on thirty two yard line. Cooper gets the stamp
play action again. Whip wants to throw one down field,
got Van and it is caught at the thirty yard line.
First down, Bullogs. What a snag by andre Van and
that play is good for thirty nine yards and a
Bulldog first down. Lambert transfer and storage first down will

(40:08):
move the chains. Well, I thought Wit hung that one
in the air a little too long there, but he
put just enough for andre Van to get up under
into the big first down, Bulldogs down to the thirty
yard line, first and ten and Tiger territory. Cooper now
will go under center. We'll see j Johnson the loan
back and play action again. Whit rolls right, chunks one

(40:30):
deep down field and they're all over him in the
end zone and there comes the flag again. Jalen Washington
gets interfered with, and it's grim fourth offer again on
the back end.

Speaker 7 (40:41):
It's sure enough, better be on them pass interference against
the Tigers.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Opleaika open up the passing game a couple big ones
here for Wit Cooper as he finds Andre Van downfield
and Jalen Washington gets interfered with. That'll be a fifteen
yard penalty.

Speaker 5 (41:00):
Good, just match it right here.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Opelichaeh will have it down to the Tiger fifteen yard line,
first and ten, three point fifteen remaining here in the
first quarter, tied at seven and Opelika trying to break
up the tie here, trying to get the offense in
the end zone for the first time tonight. Bulda I
scored on a pick six right out of the gate

(41:22):
to start the game. Two white outs to the right side.
Here's CJ and CJ hit down and around the thirteen
yard line, picks up a couple ten or three dogs
on the area, so that will set up a snack
it down and seven coming up here for the Bulldogs.

(41:43):
Opelikah goes quick here and a quick hand off the
cj s to inside the ten and CJ's down close
to the eight yard line, and that's good for close
to five yards depending on the spot. And it looks
like it's going to be a third and three close
to third and two. Third and three, yep, third and two.

Speaker 5 (42:07):
Well, this is gonna peek two down zone right here.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
It will be down at the yard line. Bulldogs can
get a first down inside the five. Dogs headed to
the end zone where the locker rooms are under center.
I formation here for with Cooper, they'll hand it to CJ.
CJ's inside the five and CJ's down close to the

(42:30):
two yard line, but he will have a first down
to be first in gold Bulldogs. Another Lambert transferring storage
first down great drive here for Opal. I like a
mixing the pass with a run two oh six o'clock
running here in the first quarter, and the Dogs gonna
like formation here inside the five down to the tiger
three yard line, Cooper quick hand off to the Hammer
and it is blown dead. The official comes in and

(42:54):
looks like this may be against Albert.

Speaker 6 (42:58):
Yeah, he's said it, he's got He pointed toward Auburn.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
I think we had a legal substitution on Auburn. Oh,
Auburn gonna get the time out by coach Prime or
or nothing like that one, but a timeout on the field.
Bulldogs first and goal. When we come back knocking at
the door, you listen, know, like a Bulldog football here
on the kicker. Well, if you've had to Doug Savage Stadium,

(43:33):
tiger's dodging a bullet there, getting a time out instead
of an illegal substitution. It's still first in goal Lopalaika
though at the two of Auburn. After the time out,
the Bulldogs will go I formation, just one fifty six
to go here in the first quarter, we're tied at
seven and with Cooper under center here Blake Johnson fullback
and C. J. Johnson dotting the I Cooper under center

(43:57):
and they'll hand it to the Hammer and he is in.
It's down bull I know they're gonna save him down
at the one. Boy, they quickly jumped in and said
he was down at the one, so it'll be second
down in goal at the one here for Opelika. Come on, boys,
put it in there. Boy delayed touchdown call there, seven seven,

(44:23):
one thirty o'clock running I formation again at the one
yard line. They'll give it to Blake again, and this
time they can't deny him. He's in touchdown Bulldogs hammer
time thirteen seven and the dog's a point after away
from taking a seven point lead over Auburn. And a
huge statement drive there by that Opelaikah offense coach, because

(44:45):
the way the Tigers marched it down the field, that
was a statement by Auburn that says their offense is
here to play. And that was the first time Opalaikah
had had it. And an eighty five yard drive capped
off by a one yard run by Blake Johnson.

Speaker 5 (44:58):
Well you know we're gonna.

Speaker 6 (44:58):
Get their best quarterback again now, oh yeah, but we
got to stop him.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
Snap down and the extra point kick is up and
it is good score and drive power by Opalaca Power
Services Hometown people working for you. Opal Like a leading
fourteen to seven over Auburn with one twenty four to
play here in the first quarter and you're listening to
Opeka football here on the kicker. Eighty five yard scoring

(45:27):
drive by the Opalaika Bulldogs and they reclaim the lead
here at Douck sanfordge Stadium. Opal like a leading fourteen
to seven one twenty four to play. A pick six
by the Bulldogs and an eighty five yard scoring drive
and got stop down conversions.

Speaker 5 (45:43):
They had three up three of.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
Three and they had a fourth down conversion also end
over end kick and that seals into the ends. We
got another touch back there by Rhys Beasley. We've got
to stop them right here now. Would be huge to
come out with a big stop after coming down and
getting the offense comming down the field the way they
did on that drive, mixing the pass with the run.
Really good job by wit Cooper, big deep ball to

(46:07):
to Andre van Cas and Myers back from the dead
after not started the game, and it looks like the
iron man out there.

Speaker 5 (46:22):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Dave six five pound junior leads his troops out. It'll
be first and ten from his own twenty yard line.
Play action, Myers throws a quick pass complete at the
twenty through two yard line and quickly Josh ask You
races up across the twenty five. They'll mark him up
to the twenty seven yard line. It's a seven yard pickup,
and there is an injured player down on the field,

(46:43):
a big Bulldog down across the way's head down for
a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report, Mac Boy,
It's a lot going in this game, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (46:53):
Man, Hey, great great play calling right there by JD
and n you know, with the saw more Wick Cooper
making those players passes. Great job of mixing up the
run in the pass. But you know, you're right, you
got to tell them. You know, you're talking about superman quarterback.
So yeah, I guess he's ready to go everything. You know,
they're beating us on the short passes in the run,
and like Dad said, those third downs they got to
be shut down. So we've got to figure out a

(47:14):
way how to stop that slowed down.

Speaker 6 (47:16):
Yeah, absolutely, man, absolutely, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
We got injured player down for the Bulldogs. One of
those big guys on the defensive line. That's Jissh Davis
and certainly one of your better in tier your guys
for the Bulldogs. Certainly hope he's okay and Josh gets
a big ovation and he's been dealing with a foot
injury this season.

Speaker 5 (47:39):
Carson Riddles don't come in there for him.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah, yeah, when both those guys were out, it was
really tough money Thomas in there now, and along with
Carson Riddle you got Isaiah Grave playing one defensive end
on the other side, Tremaine Thomas here as it will
be a second down in three just one o nine
to go. Myer's out of the shot gun and a
quick handoff and a good burst by the running back

(48:03):
for the first down, Jaden King who carries it up
to the thirty five yard line. That'll be an eight
yard pickup at a Tiger first down and Fox stop for
the moment. Just a minute to go, fourteen seven Opelaka
with the lead, just a minute to go here in
the first quarter. Myer's going back to work quickly. Here
he'll have the football for his own thirty four yard line.

(48:26):
Changing players around and personnel. They got two wide receivers,
both tight on the line of scrimmage. Myers gets the snap,
rolls here to the near side. Pressure in the face,
and Myers now will tuck and run and he is
gonna be brought down shy of the thirty five brought
that of the thirty four by Norman Matthews, and twenty
seven seconds left here in the first We'll see if

(48:48):
Auburn tries to hurry up. You know, you can see
right now Myers certainly not wanting to take a shot,
and that right arm I can tell he is. It
is kind of hanging on there. He's kind of wiggling
it around, trying to loosen it up. Yeah, we gotta
hit hammer him now. Now let's go five wide. Look
here for the Tigers. Three to the left, two to
the right, just five seconds on the clock. He gets

(49:09):
the snap off, Myers pressured again and he is gonna
be slipped through the defenders at the forty five and
he is brought down Shia midfield at the forty eight
yard line. He's got everything but the key. He picks
up thirteen yards and that will be the end of
the first quarter, fourteen to seven, Bulldogs, with the lead
by the Tigers again getting the offense. Humming. We'll be

(49:31):
back with more Bulldog football after this. Right here on
the kicker. One quarter in the books here at Duck
Sandford Stadium, and Opelaika leads fourteen to seven as we
get ready for the second quarter of play. Myers picks
up another big first down for the Tigers up near midfield,

(49:54):
and Opelaika will defend the Tigers as Auburn will have
it first and ten from their on forty eight yard line.
Myers making plays on the ground has been the backbreaker
for this defense too. Mount trip receiver's right, single receiver left.
Myers gets the snamp, drops back, he's pressured. Carson Rentles
sacks him down at the thirty five yard line. Big

(50:15):
time head on the quarterback, and they'll mark him down
at the thirty seven yard line. Big time loss on
the play there.

Speaker 5 (50:26):
That's about a thirteen yard loss.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
That was a big one, Yes, it was. I can't
count that high.

Speaker 5 (50:34):
Coach, Well, we got to keep putting pressure on him. Now,
he'll probably throw a screen right here.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
They'll say eleven yard loss, second and twenty one two
white either side. Myers drops back, pressured again, He's head
floats one up, but it's caught at the forty three
yard line at his wreef and up near midfield. He
takes a shot and he'll be down at the opal
like a forty eight yard line and he'll pick up
fifteen yards, still gonna be short of the first down,
but it'll set up a third down and much more

(50:59):
manageable here the Tigers. But Myers again takes a shot.

Speaker 6 (51:04):
Boy, they got him. They hit him right about two seconds.
But we've got to cover these guys back.

Speaker 2 (51:10):
Well, that was just a that was kind of one
of those busted plays. It was just an underthrown ball
and cash Reef was able to come up four it.
Third down and six for the Tigers at the forty
eight of Opelaika, two White either side. Myers gets the snap,
drops back throws across the middle, wide open, caught at
the thirty one and knock down at the thirty for
a first down. Eighteen yard pickup there for the Tigers

(51:33):
as they get it to Jade and Huff Jammel Griffin
on the tackle there for the Bulldogs, but first down
Tigers at the thirty of Opelaika, two White either side
here for Myers, first and ten at the thirty Opelikah
leading here fourteen to seven, ten thirty four to go
here in the second quarter. Now they'll line up with

(51:56):
trips to the left, two wide receivers to the right,
case Ad Meyers awaits a stamp quick throw, and that
one well defended there by Norman Matthews. He came in
there and flew in on the intended receiver Jaden King
and knocked it out of his hands. It'll be incomplete
second down in ten for the Tigers again at the

(52:17):
Opalaika twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 5 (52:19):
I say only the second incomplete pass.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
He's thrown right at the twenty nine as the line
of scrimmage fourteen to seven Opaka. But the Tigers at
the Opelika twenty nine, they'll hand it to King straight
up the gut. He makes about two or three opal
likea players miss, and he gets down to the twenty
two yard line and Opelika player came up with it.

(52:42):
They say he was down. Isaiah Gray was scooping and
running it back the other way, but they'll say he
was down marked it down at the twenty two.

Speaker 5 (52:53):
That's a six seven yard game.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Yes, seven yards, third down and three for the Tigers.
Myers drops back quarterback drawl and he has hit slipped
through one defender and they'll say forward progress at the
twenty one as he picked up one yard and it
will be Yeah.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
They gonna try to kick a field gold up at you.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Ha to be fourth and one. Oh, there, it'll keep
the offense out. Coach, they're gonna fourth in. They're going
for this one fourth and one. I'll say fourth and two.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
Yeah, it's fourth and two.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Fourteen to seven, Opalaika with the lead and the crowd
on their feet calling on the defense to come up
with a big fourth down stop. Boy, would this be huge?
Load up that box. They're bringing their tight end Hampton Jordan.
This is when you got to watch those trick plays
by coach Keith Etherich. Here they're gonna line up trips
to the left. Guarantee of Jordan's involved in this play.
Somehow the big tight end Myers gets it. No, they

(53:45):
handed to King and he's got the first down. Almost
lost the football again, he gets down to the eighteen
yard line for the first down. So just a straight
handoff and something of the Tigers have not been good
at this season. But when the passing game's going so good,
that run game opens up a little bit more. First
and ten now at the Bulldog eighteen yard line. Ope

(54:07):
like again, leading fourteen seven, eight to fifty to go.
Here in the first half, two wide either side, Myers
in the backfield, Jaden King to his right, Myers gets
the snap, looks to the right the whole way, throws
across the middle, guy wide opening the end zone. Cash
Reef comes down with it. Or do they say incomplete?

Speaker 3 (54:26):
No?

Speaker 2 (54:26):
Incomplete? Great coverage by Xavier Thomas who came in there
and laid a hit on Cash Reef and he is
down in the end zone after taking that shot from
Xavier Thomas. Boy Reef was wide open, but Xavier Thomas
was closing down on him quickly, and Reef is in
some pain in the end zone. So we'll step aside.
Time out on the field. Bulldog's leading fourteen to seven,

(54:48):
and this is opaaka football. I'm the kicker. Cash Reef
injured Auburn Tiger who took a shot from Xavier Thomas.
Matt mccrack and big d defensive series coming up here.

Speaker 7 (55:01):
Yeah, there's a big and you got to hold him
to three here and get you a victory.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
Here.

Speaker 7 (55:05):
We'll hold him to a field goal. But it's you know,
it's tough. They just got to get you know, that quarterback.
Like that said, I think there was only two incomplete
and that one right there was forced out.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
So we had a whole strong right here, boys, all
right at the eighteen of Opelikah second down play, they'll
hand it to King again on a run play, and
there's a Lakendrick Burke slamming them down back at the twenty.
They'll say, Ford progress up around the sixteen yard line,
so he picked up a couple of yards. Third and eight,
But a nice job there by Lakedrick Burks. And'll be
third and eight eight twenty o'clock running here in the

(55:34):
first half, Bulldogs leading fourteen seven and another big third
down coming up here for the Tigers. Myers has killed
the defense with his legs. See if Opelika and keep
him in check here third down and eight down at
the sixteen of Opelika for the Tigers. Two white either
side case and Myers out of the shotgun. King is

(55:56):
to the right. Myers drops back. Here comes pressure throws
in the end zone, wide open touchdown. Tigers got it
right to Levi Kelly all alone in the end zone,
and the Tigers a point after away from tying it up.
Third down have been had been the killer for opel
Like on defense, and somehow Levi Kelly found open real

(56:19):
estate there in the end zone for the touchdown.

Speaker 6 (56:21):
He threw that ball and I don't think he threw
it let more than three seconds.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
I know, yeh shoulder looking really good here Joseph Daniel
for the point after with seven fifty two remaining here
in the second quarter, high snap, got it down and
extra point is up and good. We're knoed up at
fourteen here at Duck Cepford Stadium and you're listening Opa
like a Bulldog football here on the kicker case admirers

(56:56):
from sixteen yards out finds Levi Kelly for the touchdown
and Auburn ties up Opalaika now fourteen fourteen with seven
fifty two remaining here in the second quarter. Opelika looking
to get the football and this will just be ople
like a second offensive series at the night, which is
hard to believe. Lindrive kick and that will hit down
inside the ten and picked up here by c J. Johnson.

(57:18):
Set up around twenty five. CJ cross the thirty forty.
CJ's got a lane and he is gone inside the
thirty twenty ten five touchdown, No flags bulldogs. CJ. Johnson
picked that one up at the six yard line and
they keep kicking into CJ. And he keeps making them pay.

(57:41):
What a response everybody does the rubber neck too down
the field, coach looking for a hanky and it wasn't there.
Great job by special cheams and CJ. Johnson kick off
return for the touchdown of the answer the Bulldogs needed.

(58:02):
Here is Rhys Beasley for the point after. Just like that,
Dog's back on top twenty to fourteen. Here was seven
forty two to go here in the first half, went
Cooper to hold, snapped down and the play is stopped.
Coach Keith Ethrich calling a time out. So coach Keith

(58:26):
Ethrits cost time out. Matt McCracken, how about a boy, CJ.

Speaker 7 (58:29):
Hey, great job right there. They tried to a little
long squib kick right there.

Speaker 5 (58:33):
In the van.

Speaker 7 (58:34):
It rolled to him and it was pretty much amazing
because oh block, I had one block right here. It's
like the whole Auburn kickoff team was on the other side.
I mean I was opened up like the wind and
just take it to the house.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
My mac. I was looking for Moses and his staff.
It was like the Red Sea was parted.

Speaker 6 (58:49):
Yeah, okay, hey, Matt, Matt, sir, let's get that secondary straightened.

Speaker 7 (58:53):
Out, bro, that's kind of being ben you know, I
mean pretty long quarterback.

Speaker 6 (58:57):
A quarterback has thrown those passes in less than three second.

Speaker 5 (59:02):
Yeah, there's really you know that pressure.

Speaker 10 (59:04):
You know, sometimes it's there, sometimes not.

Speaker 7 (59:06):
But he's you know, he's one step in screen pass,
he's two stepping right across the middle.

Speaker 10 (59:11):
That middle is wide open. That's where they killed us
on us twice.

Speaker 7 (59:14):
So we've got to you know, either getna spy out
there or something like that. But we gotta we gotta
stop him. We gotta just stop him. No more touchdowns.
We can't allow any more touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
All right, four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline Report. Coach,
You know, I think this is one of those things
to your defensive line has got to start getting the
getting their hands up and trying to back things.

Speaker 5 (59:32):
Yeah, we had knocked one down.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
Yet we have passes, you know that can be key.
But here's the extra point after the time out here
by Auburn. Here by Rehees. Beasley snapped good and the
extra point is up and it is good dogs back
on top by seven with seven forty one to play.
Twenty one fourteen. Here at the dunk, good guys on
top your listen, noble, like a Bulldog football. Here on
the kicker CJ. Johnson with what we'll call a ninety

(01:00:03):
three yard kickoff return ninety four yard kickoff return officially
there from Jason Lee, our spoder and statistician tonight and
puts the Bulldogs on top of a pick six kickoff
return and only one offensive series still for oph like.

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
A, we've only had twelve snap.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
That's right, and it was a good offensive series though
with eighty five yard scoring drive. But that's the way.
This is the opal like away right now. And Rehys
Beasley puts a good kick into this one end over
end and that sails to the one and will give
the Tigers a chance for a return. Here here you go,
and they wrap them up back in the fifteen yard line.

(01:00:42):
The return man for the Tigers that was Antonio Wilkes's
wide receiver.

Speaker 6 (01:00:47):
And Van you said something just a minute to go
to me about our defensive lineman getting their hands up
and trying to knock a pass down.

Speaker 5 (01:00:56):
We have not done that tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Jay battle on the tackle there on else.

Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
This is their twenty seventh snap.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Tigers will have it first and ten for our own
fifteen yard line. They find themselves down again here by
touchdown twenty one at fourteen Myers with two whiteouts either
side of the field, actually three to the right, two
receivers to the left, A five wide look. Myers drops back,
throws across the middle. It's incomplete. Tried to slip it
in to Jade and King. It's incomplete.

Speaker 5 (01:01:25):
They threw that one right down the middle.

Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
Two van at least second down and ten again, Tigers
for their own fifteen yard line. We've got seven twenty
nine remaining here in the second quarter here at Duck
Sandford Stadium.

Speaker 5 (01:01:36):
We can get their morale down and get the ball
back here.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth is where we're coming to you
from East Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care. Two
great locations, Lakeside Circle in Auburn and the Medical Arts
Center in Opalaika. Second down and ten Tigers for their
own fifteen yard line. Five wide look again here. Now
they'll bring King in motion from right to left Myers.
This time, Pressure steps and slips through another tackler in

(01:02:02):
the backfield, and Myers races out close to the twenty
five yard line. There is a flag down though back
at the fifteen yard line, and there's a two flags
down on the play. One you would think would be
a hold, the one over on the far side of

(01:02:22):
the field. Not sure if these off set gonna be
close to a first down run by case Ad Myers
or they'll replay the down rather Oh my goodness, they
got a personal foul targeting, so they're going to replay

(01:02:44):
second down. So I'm not sure who they got targeting
on there for Opalaika, but there is no ejections, but
it'll be second down to ten Myers out of the shotgun.
Two wide receivers either side. Money Thomas almost had him
on that last one. Here's a quick throw near side.

(01:03:06):
Ask yous got it and ray to man miss twenty
five and brought down my tray stone and across the
thirty yard line. Hey, they're gonna give him all the
way up to the thirty three yard line for an
eighteen yard pickup there by Antonio or Josh ask you, well,
we have.

Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
Got to do a better job in the secondary.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
First down, Tigers from their own thirty three yard line.
Two whites either side, Myers quick throw again here to
ask you that time battle does a nice job holding
him in check. He gets up to the thirty five
yard line, they'll give him two yards, but that's it,
and it'll be second down and eight for the Tigers

(01:03:47):
from their own thirty four yard line. I only gave
him one yard check that second down and nine he
got six, twenty nine to play. Twenty one to fourteen,
Opelaika with the lead, Myers out of the shotgun, with
two wide this time either side, and rushing ready this
time Jaden King the wide receiver, lined up at the
tail back to the righte. Myers drops back, got a pocket,

(01:04:07):
rolls to his right. Good pressure by the Bulldogs had
just thrown and caught at the thirty yard line. Welch
has it and he is out of bounds. Did not
get much. He's gonna be short of the first down.
Picked up more than I thought. They got the thirty
eight yard line, so he did pick up close to
four yards.

Speaker 5 (01:04:23):
Third and five, Van Yes, yep.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Myers boy, he can just make something out of nothing.
And a hard guy to bring down somebody that's been
nursing an injury. It's just hard to get a shot
on him. Come on, Dogs, third down, six six oh
seven to play here in the first half Bulldogs League
twenty one to fourteen. Pick third down here to either side.
Myers pressured and it's incomplete. Drop, tried to get it
to King, tried to set up a screen, and it'll

(01:04:51):
be punting time now for the Tigers. Third down and
fourth down and five from their own thirty eight. You
gotta imagine they're gonna punt here. We'll see the they
might not yeah here that come, he coached Keith Etheridge
on the far side of the field. I think wanted
a penalty on one of the Opelika secondary guys. But
for the first time tonight and Joseph Daniel trit sound

(01:05:12):
to punt this one away, first punt for either team tonight,
and Opelika will send back dre Van around the twenty
yard line. Punter stands at the twenty four. Daniel just
got it away and that will send Andre back inside
the fifteen. He's got a lane here twenty five and

(01:05:33):
cut down at the thirty yard line and Carter Chambly
on the stop there for the Tigers of Auburn and
Opelika will have it first intend just the second offensive
time tonight. We've seen Opelika's offense now and they'll have
it from their own thirty six yard line.

Speaker 6 (01:05:53):
Jason, that boy hit him at a bounds, didn't he
think he hit him in bounds?

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Coach, and he just flew out of bounds. I think
it was pretty clean.

Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
Boy.

Speaker 6 (01:06:00):
Big drive right here, Van big drive will be hopefully.

Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
With a seven point lead.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Now, come on, two wide left singer receiver to the right.
Five point fifty one to play here in the second quarter,
Wit Cooper drops back, but a flag on the play
going to be a procedure penalty against Opelaika, So it's
going to back things back to the thirty one yard line.
Didn't see who moved there. If it was a wide receiver.

(01:06:28):
It didn't see any of the offensive lineman flinch or
they did the actually line of scrimmage. Now the twenty
six I should say, here's pressure coming from the Tigers.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
C J.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
Johnson runs right at the middle and CJ gets up
close to the thirty. They'll mark them down to the
twenty nine yard line. So CJ picks up a quick
three yards, still a second down and eleven coming up here.
Take it down at twelve five thirty two to go
till halftime. Twenty one to fourteen. Opelaika with the lead
and buld I is gonna go I formation here on

(01:07:05):
a second down and twelve dogs of they're on twenty
nine yard line. Cooper under center. They'll fake it and
here's a reverse track in Jalen Washington got some real
estate across the thirty. Jalen cuts it down the sidelines,
across the forty five at midfield, Jalen down to the
Tiger forty five yard line. Big time run twenty six
yards and a Lambor transferring storage first down. Who great

(01:07:30):
play call there by j D Atkins. Everybody looking inside
for a handoff, and it was the old reverse to
Jalen Washington. Hi the boy, Jalen down to the Tiger
forty five. There's a time out on the field. Oh wait, God,
the chains are all curled up. I guess okay mac
mccrag can get out there and help them straighten it out.

Speaker 7 (01:07:51):
Now, Okay, yeah, they tangle down here, they got it now.

Speaker 5 (01:07:53):
Where let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Hey, that's what happens when you move down the field quickly, right,
is it?

Speaker 5 (01:07:57):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
At the forty five first and ten, Bulldog's leading twenty
one fourteen and at the Tiger forty five and a
white hat comes in again and stops play here with
five oh four to go in the second quarter, So
an official time out here on the field, Coach Keith Etherich,

(01:08:23):
I'm assuming calling a time out here. We'll step aside
Bulldog's leading twenty one fourteen. We're back after this here
on the kicker.

Speaker 8 (01:08:29):
W KKR Auburn Opelaika is Lee County's best country ninety
seven point seven kicker FN and iHeart country station.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
Out of the timeout, it will be Bulldog first and
ten at the Auburn at forty five yard line, open
like a leading twenty one fourteen with Cooper out of
the shotgun L handed a CJ. Auburn was bringing the
house that time and down to the forty three yard
line for a two yard pickup. Oh, they say, no game,

(01:09:08):
no game boy a little l they had marked him
for two yards. CJ checks out of the game. It'll
be second down and ten, four thirty to go here
in the second quarter, Auburn trailing right now, Opelaika with
the lead twenty one to fourteen. Jalen Washington out of

(01:09:30):
the backfield catches the pass. Jalen with a man missics
out of the thirty five, and he has got a
first down down to the thirty three yard line of Auburn.
It quick throw out of the back field for thirteen
yards and elaborate transfer in storage first down check that
twelve yards, but it's enough for the first down to
c J. Johnson will check in the game. Boy, Jalen
slipped in there running back.

Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
Beautiful paths man.

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Jalen kind of had us looking around and go in
a minute, who is this Jalen Washington Now at the
thirty three year yard line of Auburn. First and ten
Bulldogs up twenty one to fourteen as we wind down
the second quarter, and they'll hand the ball off to CJ. CJ.
Nice game down close to the thirty yard line for

(01:10:13):
three yards depending on the spot here. Three thirty five,
boy opeal Ika remembers, we'll get the football to start
the second half or a score here would be huge
in this game right now to stretch out in this
one possession lead.

Speaker 6 (01:10:30):
Second down here, we gotta get some good yard each year.

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Now, Yeah, second and seven nose of the football down
at the Auburn thirty yard line. We'll call it the
thirty one of Auburn opele I could take in their
time checking the sidelines. Two wide receivers to the right,
come on, come on, Jalen Nelson in the backfield for
the Bulldogs went drops back, busted play. Cooper will run

(01:10:54):
for it and he gets down close to the twenty
nine and they'll say he's down at the twenty nine
yard line. So it picks up two and it'll set
up a big third down, third and six, and you're
in range, getting in range of Reese Beasley to take
a shot at the field goal. I think you're in
range right now. I think coach Brian Moore knows that,

(01:11:14):
but you'd love to pick up this third down. It'll
be third and seven with two thirty six to go
at the Auburn twenty nine yard line. So a big
third down coming up. Cooper out of the shotgun, two
wides to the right side. Loan back is Jalen Nelson.
They'll bring Washington in motion, a quick flip inside the

(01:11:35):
Blake Johnson, and Johnson's gonna be stopped at the line
of scrimmage. No gain on the play, and it'll be
fourth down. I think coach Moore will send in Reese
Beasley and take a shot at three here we'll see.
Now he's gonna let the clock wind on down as
it still runs. Now under two minutes to go, and
now the field goal team comes on. Looks like this

(01:12:06):
will be a forty six yarder here for Reese, his
longest of the season was forty three. Certainly has the
leg for this. And now opal Aike are gonna take
a time out, So time out on the field taking
and coach, what you think thinking through here?

Speaker 6 (01:12:27):
I'm thinking they're gonna they're gonna try a field goal
and hopefully make it.

Speaker 5 (01:12:31):
We needed to drive that ball in and score.

Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
Oh good, Yeah, well they burned the time out. Now
just one thirty six left, so time was winding down
and Matt mccracking down on the field. Mack a score.
Any score here is big, But even bigger is after
this score keeping Auburn off the scoreboard.

Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Right, yeah, that's right.

Speaker 7 (01:12:49):
Hey, it's gonna be a big field goal right here, guys.

Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
We got to have these points.

Speaker 7 (01:12:54):
But yeah, you're right, just to keep them, keep them
out of the ends on the rest of the evening.
You know, you can keep them to three, but no
more touchdowns. But let's right, here is a big kick
by race.

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Basiy absolutely will be forty six yard are going to
be here from the near hashmart that'll be the right
hash Mark cam Raley the snapper. Wit Cooper will be
your holder. And right now one thirty six remaining here
in the second quarter, and Opelikah tried to add to
their twenty one to fourteen lead over Auburt Offensively, Opelikah

(01:13:29):
has scored just once tonight eighty five yard scoring drive
and Tiger's trying to hold the offense here to three
pick six to start the game by Xavier Thomas and
then the other score for Opelikah did kick off return

(01:13:49):
by C. J. Johnson. Opelikah races on the field goal
team here and now wit Cooper will go under center. Yeah,
I think Witt trying to get him to jump off
sides here and now Coach Moore will take a time out.
Had one to play with there, so worth a shot,

(01:14:12):
but Auburn stay's put so a tieme out now and
see ople like, I'm sure we'll go for the field
goal here. But coach you go in the locker room
and you're down ten. A lot of different feeling than
going into the locker room just down seven and open,

(01:14:33):
like he gets the football to start the second half,
So you could potentially if you can get this field
goal to go through the uprights, come out, hit a
score and drive to start the second half, and you're
up seventeen, which would be huge.

Speaker 5 (01:14:45):
I would be really big.

Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
So Reye Beasley certainly has the leg for this. On
the season twelve or sixteen, he's been really good of late.
Four big th ill goals in that win against Hewett,
trustful back in the first round of the playoffs, and

(01:15:09):
in the time out, a lot of conversation. Do you
like all the downtime though? That's the only thing about
a kicker. He's had a long time to think about
this kick. See if the junior can put one through here,
five eleven, one hundred and sixty five pounder, and again
this will be a forty six yarder. Breese is ready,

(01:15:34):
the snap is good, the hold is good, and the
kick is pushed wide to the left. No good stays
a seven point game twenty one fourteen, So the Bulldogs
will have to come out defence and get a stop
here a minute thirty a lot of time for case admirers.

(01:15:55):
They will put the football at the twenty though after
that miskick. So we'll have eighty yards to go and
a minute and change to work with. Minute and thirty.
So here comes Myers and the Tigers first and ten.
Go ahead, coach, see.

Speaker 5 (01:16:11):
If we can get a turnover right here.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):
Back now, pick would be good here five wide, look
here three to the right, two receivers to the left.
Myers drops back, quick throw, caught it the nineteen yard line,
broke a tackle and pushed out of bounds around the
twenty five yard line. Over on the far side of
the field was Levi Kelly. Kelly, we'll mark him at

(01:16:34):
the twenty four yard line. So I picked up four yards.
But there is a player down for Opalaika near the
Auburn sideline. Trainers racing over to check on the injured
player for the Bulldogs. Yeah, we will try to check
down as well. Jason Lee will be coming up with

(01:16:56):
some scores from around the area as Norman Matthews. Norman
gonna be okay though, coming off in his own power
Central Phoenix City leading Thompson fourteen seven, Opelika leading Auburn

(01:17:22):
twenty one fourteen of the Tigers with the football, it'll
be second down and six now for the Tigers with
one twenty four left now and Auburn will have it
for their own twenty four yard line. Five white, look,
three to the right, two to the left. Myers all
Day steps up in the pocket and he'll just throw
it away. As Carson Riddle was bearing down pressure on

(01:17:44):
Myers and he gets out of anads at around the
twenty yard line. It'll be third down. We could get
this ball back, third and six for the Tigers, one
eighteen to play. You don't fix.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
The Tigers will have a third and six for their
own twenty four yard line. Come on g five wide,
look again, three to the left, two to the right.
Myers drops back and the play is blown dead and offensively, Opelikah,
what happened calls a timeout. Opelikah did not like something, coach,

(01:18:24):
you could tell there, and they race in and burn
a timeout. So we will step aside time out on
the field twenty one fourteen and we'll be back after
this year. Listen, Nope, like a football on the kicker.

(01:18:45):
They've third down and six for Opelika's defense here against
Auburn with one eighteen to go. Here in the second quarter,
Opal like a leading twenty one fourteen, third and six
Tigers from they're on twenty four five wide, look and
they'll hand it off. Noll Myers keeps it and he's
going to be brought down at the twenty five yard line.
Trommaine Thomas Baby TJ comes in there and brings him

(01:19:07):
down and it'll be fourth down Tigers.

Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
We have any timeouts left.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Coach Brian Moore is going to let it roll, though
I think he wants to wait and see. I think
he's going to be content to let it run down.
We have no timeouts too, fifty four seconds yet down
to fifty two. Andre Van will have a shot at
a return here. Hey, special teams has been the name
of the game so far for Poli, like at least

(01:19:32):
in the return game. Joseph Daniel stands at around the
eleven yard line. They'll wait this snap and a timeout
taken by Auburn here, So Auburn wants to take a
time out and think things over here on this punt

(01:19:55):
here from the Tigers here with thirty one seconds left,
we'll keep it here down the sideline. Mac McCracken, Mac,
how's the feel there on the sidelines.

Speaker 7 (01:20:03):
They're still up and ready to go. Man, a lot
of positivity, as you can tell. But hey, right here,
they're just gonna do something safe here. Make sure fourth
and five here, make sure nothing tricky happens. Like Dad,
I think you or a man just said, you know,
we gotta actually a chance to make something happen even
though there's thirty one but play it safe here. Punt
team's running out here for Auburn, so we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
Yeah, you certainly don't want a muffle one here anything,
I mean with this little time left. There's thirty one
seconds left, but you certainly trust Andre. He stands at
around the thirty yard line. Daniel stands at the ten
and to await the snap. Snap there, and the kick
is a high hanging punt and Andre will come down

(01:20:45):
and catch it at the thirty. He'll return it across
the forty. Andre broke a tackle and he's down at
the forty five yard line and there's a flag on
the play. That's a face face mask against Auburn. That's
gonna be a fifteen yarder. That's gonna put the hope
like a bull in a second. Nineteen seconds knocking on
the door baby to give Reese another shot in the
field goal here, let's wait and get the official call

(01:21:07):
for the white hat. White hat comes over face mask
against the Tigers. So just a five yarder, not the
fifteen yarder. But you're at the tiger forty nine yard
line though, and you still got some time to work with.

(01:21:28):
But ope I had no timeouts though opell I could
line up with four wide receivers to the left side,
and big Blake Johnson is one of those guys out
there then is to the right shotguns. Now Wit takes
a shot down field trying to get it Andre you
would up made it twenty nine yard line, first down.

(01:21:50):
Bulldogs probably just stop with twelve second hurry Lesty and
the Dogs will have to get out and clock it here.
Some of the outfensive lineman for the Bulldogs didn't quite
get down feel then time. Bulldogs will have one final
shot of the play here and know Whick Cooper will
spike it out of the shotgun and they'll stop the
clock with eight seconds and they'll race on the field
goal team and give mister Beasley one more shot at

(01:22:12):
that field goal he missed earlier. Redemption time possibly here
for Reese Beasley.

Speaker 5 (01:22:18):
It's too vague.

Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
Yeah, I think it's going to be forty five yard
or so. It'll be one.

Speaker 5 (01:22:23):
The last one.

Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
Look shorter.

Speaker 5 (01:22:25):
He yanked that last one. Somebody's not out there.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Yeah, one of the players late to get on the boy.
Coach More is beside himself as the play clock still
plenty of time, down to thirteen, down to twelve, forty
five yard attempt to hear from Reese Beasley and try
to put the Bulldogs up by ten here at the
end of the first half. Snap good, hold is good
and that kick is I think they may have got
a piece of that one way to the left. And

(01:22:57):
that's two field goals missed by the Bulldogs. Couple of
ops tunities missed, and Auburn will have three seconds left.
I'm not sure if he just shanked that one or
put yanked or they got a piece of it. Hard
to tell from us. Tigers will have it from their
own twenty yard line, but I missed opportunity there for

(01:23:18):
the Bulldogs. A couple shots at some points. Tigers just
three seconds to work with here and hope like the
leads twenty one to fourteen. One final shot for the
Tigers here to end the first half. It'll just be
a run play to King and King breaks a tackle

(01:23:38):
at the thirty and gonna be brought down to the
thirty six yard line. But that will end the first
half of play and we'll get back in a crack
and to catch up with coach Brian Moore, who is
certainly frustrated and left some points on the board there
at the end of the first half. But will of
Laton mac is he catches up with coach Brian Moore

(01:23:59):
making his way into the locker room. All right, head
down the field, Max got coach, Thanks.

Speaker 7 (01:24:08):
A lot, Coach Moore, what's your thoughts? Offensively and you
know we touched him up the quarterback did a pretty
good job of the last two drives. How do we
continue that the rest of the night.

Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
Yeah, I mean it's you know, Jacquelyn Hide. Defensively, you know,
we get to pick six and you know we don't
do a very good job after that of a couple
of drives of letting them score. You know, Offensively, we've
played really well. I mean we you know, guys are
making plays on the premier. We are able to run
the football. Had two fringe opportunities miss two field goals,
but Recee's gone. Those are long ones, I mean are
forty seven yard field goals.

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
So I mean again, we're fine.

Speaker 4 (01:24:36):
Good job into the end of the half scenario, but
I had to use the timeouts and I wasn't able
to keep enough time on the clock. So again, listen,
we're fine. We just got to cash you in on
some of these and push this lead out.

Speaker 10 (01:24:47):
All right, coach, let's go talk to them.

Speaker 2 (01:24:48):
Thanks back, all right, that's back mc crack and there
with coach Brian Moore at the half hope Alaika with
the lead twenty one to fourteen. Jason Lee was some
of the playoff scores around the area, and we come back.
Let's nope like a bulldog football. Here on the kicker

(01:25:10):
bag here at Dunk Stanford Stadium, Van Riggs alongside coach
Bence McCracken, both teams getting ready for the second half.
It will be opa like a football to start the
second half in Ople like a leading twenty one to fourteen.
Head down and check him with Mac McCracken, who was
in the locker room with the gang. Mac, what was
the message from the coaches there in the locker room?

Speaker 10 (01:25:27):
Well, they all had their individual meetings right now.

Speaker 7 (01:25:28):
And coach bores right here on the goal line talking
to them right now. But yeah, they all made their adjustment.
So let's get after it and they know what they
gotta do.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Boys, all right, thank you, Matt, Coach McCracken. Big offensive
series here for Opalika to come out here with a
seven point lead and try to stretch that lead. Whether
you get three on the border, you get seven, it'd
be nice to take a fourteen point lead.

Speaker 6 (01:25:48):
Yeah, I don't. I'd rather have the seven than the three.
And this is gonna be this is gonna be really
really huge. And you know, with Cooper's done a good
jobs so far offense.

Speaker 5 (01:26:02):
If you told me we had.

Speaker 6 (01:26:05):
Twenty one points, I'd be fired up to if I
knew I had that that kind.

Speaker 5 (01:26:10):
Of a point lead.

Speaker 7 (01:26:11):
Yeah, absolutely, And so let's see what happens.

Speaker 4 (01:26:16):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:26:17):
This is hey, this is playoff football, and don't get
no better than this.

Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
Bulldogs storm them onto the field, getting ready for the
second half. I crossed the way. It's Thompson leading Central
at halftime now twenty eight to fourteen. Thompson will also
get the football to start the second half, so they
take a two touchdown lead into the locker room. So
an interesting score update there from Garrett Harrison Stadium. Auburn

(01:26:43):
High is getting ready to tee it up. They'll kick
it to Opelaika here to start the second half. Bulldog CJ.
Johnson took one back ninety four yards for a kickoff
in the second quarter. Was seven forty one to play
in the second quarter. Now we're just about ready to go.

(01:27:04):
Kick return team on the field and the kickoff team
on the field.

Speaker 5 (01:27:07):
How you reckon? They're not gonna kick it to him
this time?

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Now, I would not think they would kick it to
c J. Johnson. Well, there is an official from Auburn
on the field now. I think coach Brian Moore wants
to know what the delay is. I don't know that
they're sending both teams back to each respective sideline. I'm
wondering if the lights are malfunctioning. They continue to twinkle.

(01:27:33):
Now they have stopped, so the lights show was going
and both teams have headed to their respective sidelines. Mag
Was that just a malfunction there with the lights? A
little light?

Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:27:44):
I think you was a glitch? Is that or somebody
forgot what.

Speaker 5 (01:27:47):
A button was?

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
Yeah, somebody to send them the password. A little extra time,
bro Plaika, get on their feet. Crowd here ready to
bust excitement here to start the second half.

Speaker 5 (01:28:05):
I don't think he needs.

Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
Opelika will get the football to start the second half.
And you gotta find the big man, CJ. Johnson. He
is at the near HASH at the two yard line.
Andre Van is the other kick returner on the opposite HASH,
Joseph Daniel. I got a feeling won't kick it to CJ.

(01:28:29):
After he's taken one back ninety four yards. But we'll see.
We'll be happy if he does, Daniel. We'll kick it
in the direction of c. J. Johnson. But it does
go into the end zone. So coach ethricke with confidence
with his kicker and it goes into the end zone
for a touchback. So the Bulldogs will start first and
ten from their own twenty yard line. Hope like I

(01:28:50):
came up empty on a couple offensive possessions, both miss
field goals in the first quarter, though late first core.

Speaker 6 (01:29:01):
I really think this drive right here, whatever happens here,
is gonna be huge.

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
Opelika score with a minute twenty four in the first
quarter and eighty five yard score and drive the only
offensive touchdown tonight for Opalika, but only three possessions offensively
for opal Like in the first half, trips receivers to
the left side from the twenty yard line, play action,
they'll throw, They get it out to CJ. And CJ's
gonna be brought down behind a good shot the twenty

(01:29:29):
five up to the twenty four yard line, but a
four yard pickup there.

Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
That's good call, Van, good start.

Speaker 2 (01:29:41):
Isaac Binford comes in from the secondary on the stop
for the Tigers. They'll actually get it up to the
twenty five yard line, so it'll be second and five,
second and five. You're right, coach, just underway here in
the second half, Bulldogs of their on twenty five yard line.
They'll bring a man in motion. That's big Blake Johnson
for Bright to left. They'll throw it out of the
backfield and that's CJ. Johnson. See day's got a first
down up to the thirty two yard line that I'll

(01:30:02):
move the chains of seven yard pickup and a labor
transfer and storage first down.

Speaker 5 (01:30:08):
Good call.

Speaker 2 (01:30:09):
Doing a good job of mixing things up too, sir.
And you know Auburn trying to bear down and stop
the run.

Speaker 6 (01:30:15):
Yep, yep, that's exactly what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
First down and ten Opelaika Bulldogs from their own thirty
two yard line leading twenty one to fourteen to open
up the second half. Two wides tight here to the right,
and this will be play action. Wit steps up in
the pocket, throws across the middle and just overshot andre
Van at the forty four yard line. That one a
little behind, little high and incomplete. Like the call there.

(01:30:46):
Set it down in ten for the Bulldogs again from
their own thirty two.

Speaker 6 (01:30:49):
We've got Julian Pritchett, Hillard, Bears, Whitlow and Mason up front.

Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
Good job too. The offensive line did a good job
of creating a pocket there for Wit to throw. Get
that pass off cleanly with some pressure coming. Second down
and ten Bulldogs changing their play stacking the box. Are
the Tigers defensively here? Almost second and ten play play
action again went throws high and knocked out of down.

(01:31:17):
I knocked away from andre Van to the thirty five yard.

Speaker 5 (01:31:20):
Line and I was almost picked off.

Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
So big third down coming up here for Auburns and
their defense and their crowd on their feet too wide
to the left side of the field. Single back is C. J.
Johnson for the Bulldogs. Third and ten, play action, Whit

(01:31:49):
steps up, throws down field. He's got Van, but it's
knocked away. Good John Isaac Benford. He comes in there
and knocked it away from Andre Van and that was
a good play Defensively, punting time for the first time tonight.
Opelika will punt it away, so the Tiger defense gets
a big stop and they'll send back a dangerous returner

(01:32:12):
and Josh ask you inside the thirty yard line. We'll
wait this punt here for Rhys Beasley snap and the
punt end over end. It will hit down at the
third end, take an Opalika bounce and then an Auburn
roll back up to the round the twenty six yard line.

(01:32:35):
So that's where the Tigers will start. See if the
defense can hold this high powered offense from Auburn in check.
As the defense from Auburn did the job to start
the second half.

Speaker 5 (01:32:46):
We did not run the ball one time in those
seven plays. Seven passes. No wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
Tigers from their own twenty seven yard line first and
ten Myers out of the shotgun. He's got three receivers
to the right, single receiver to the left and they'll
handle the tailback. He's brought down. Good job by Isaiah Gray,
drags him down to the line of scrimmage actually for
two yard loss.

Speaker 5 (01:33:13):
He's hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Back to the twenty five yard line. He's hurt too,
and Jaden King the running back down on the play.
So there's an injury time out here at Duck Sanford
Study of Auburn will have a second down and twelve
when we come back here. Let's know, like a football
here on the kicker well, jad and King, after a

(01:33:43):
little time on the turf, hops up and runs off
on his own power. So good to see he's okay.
It'll be second down in twelve coming up now for
the Tigers after that loss on the play from their
on twenty five yard line. Hope like again leading twenty
one fourteen, as we're just underway here in the third quarter,
ten twenty five to play. Fetching a chucket Myers with

(01:34:04):
a five hite look three to the right, two to
the left. Myers gets the snap, steps up in the pocket,
throws one across the middle intended for Welch, but it's incomplete,
too far in front. That was big and it will
be third down and twelve.

Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
Boy, this is huge right here.

Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Those third downs have killed Hope alike in the first half. Coach,
you really need to get one here and get the
football back to your offense.

Speaker 5 (01:34:25):
Absolutely, you got a pressure. It's just gonna be. It's
gonna be just like last.

Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
Week, baby, TJ. Riddle and Gray on the line for
the Bulldogs here on this third down and long play,
third and twelve. Coach Brian Moore trying to get some adjustments.
They'll bring a man in motion now too White either side.
Myers drops back, steps up, has all day thrown its
picked off by tray Stone at the thirty yard line
inside the twenty five. At the twenty Stone knocked out
of bounds of the fifteen yard line. Big time interception

(01:34:55):
by tray Stone out of four trains. Trays sitting there
playing center field in the middle of the field, and
a big time interception by Trey Stone.

Speaker 5 (01:35:05):
Oh, huge, just huge. I bet you gonna see us
run the football here.

Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Bulldogs are set up now the Tiger fifteen yard line,
first and ten. After that big interception by Trey Stone, CJ.
Johnson the tailback two wides to the left. Goldog's League
twenty one to fourteen, trying to cash in after that
big interception by mister Stone. Cooper gets the snap, They'll
hand it to CJ. CJ cut downstairs on his feet though,

(01:35:37):
pushing the pile down close to the ten yard line.
That's a five yard run by CJ. Johnson. Bulldogs can
get a first down inside the five. A going fast fan,
yes they are. CJ is still the loan back and a
pistol set and the shotgun here for Cooper. Cooper the
hand off to CJ. Night's blocking up in front inside

(01:35:57):
the five, and there's a flag down as into the
end zone. Well, there's a flag down in the backfield
and this will be coming back. Boy, I'll fitch a line.
Sure looked like they paved a way, but maybe along
the way grabbed a jersey. Coach Brian Moore is beside himself,

(01:36:22):
Coach Burdett to get that guy tonight. Having to keep
Brian more composed. But that is a huge flag.

Speaker 5 (01:36:33):
Where's he doing it from the five?

Speaker 2 (01:36:36):
I think it was in the backfield, So it's gonna
be one of those line of scrimmage. Oh it's a
chop block too. It's a fifteen yard Chopp Blog. What's
a big one back get all the way back to
the twenty five yard line. Now, boy, help alike. I
had it at the fifteen to start and now backed

(01:36:58):
up and this will be a back it down in
a mile coming up here for the Bulldogs. Nine thirty
five to play huge call there in a in a
big time game. Well, let's see if the Bulldogs can
still cash it in here.

Speaker 5 (01:37:14):
Let's go. We got fourteen seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
Fourteen on the play, cline down to ten, down to
nine Cooper with Blake Johnson alone back a wide out
either side. They'll give it to Johnson and Johnson got
he tripped up right at the line of scrimmage down
to the twenty five yard line. It will be third
and long coming up here for Opalaika.

Speaker 6 (01:37:32):
Got to try to get the ball back in the
middle of the field. The Beasley's had those two field
goals both from this hash.

Speaker 2 (01:37:40):
Yes, that's a great point, coach.

Speaker 6 (01:37:43):
We need to move get the ball over there to
the middle of the field.

Speaker 5 (01:37:47):
C J.

Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
Johnson back in the ball game at running back Andre
van Jalen Washington. They're going to line up wide to
the left. Maybe take a shot to one of them
here twenty one to fourteen, Opelaka with a lead under
nine to here in the third and at the Tiger
twenty five Bulldogs a third and twenty. Pressure comes from

(01:38:08):
the Tigers. The'll just handed to CJ trying to ride
his blockers out. He's gonna be hit down at the
twenty five yard line, and they blow it dead. And
my goodness, they're still slinging it back around the forty
yard line. Fall came out at the end of the play,
but well after the whistle had blown. And now Bulldogs

(01:38:29):
will try to give Reese Beasley another shot. He's missed two.
This one will be closer, but certainly not a chip shot.
This one will be a forty two yarder. This one
the opposite hash. Oh boy knocked this one through. This

(01:38:49):
one the opposite hash. See if Reese can knock this
thing through here, good snap hold and that kick is
up and it is off the upright hold off the upright.
No good it stay. He's a twenty one to fourteen

(01:39:10):
ball game. And here comes the Tigers offense back on
the field. Boy oldogs had one going in the end zone.
A huge chop block call brings that one back and
then a miss field goal. That's three scoring opportunities. You
can't leave those out here against Auburn on their home field.

Speaker 5 (01:39:26):
Nope, can't do it.

Speaker 9 (01:39:29):
They can bring in.

Speaker 6 (01:39:30):
That's an adversity right there. We gonna have to fight
against it now.

Speaker 2 (01:39:35):
So you're getting nothing off the interception down to the
fifteen yard line. That is a backbreaker. You got to
come out and get a defensive stop here Tigers from
their own twenty yard line, and here is casen Meyer
straight up the middle, and he's got to be brought
down across the thirty up to the thirty one yard line,
and that's eleven yard pickup and a first down run
for the junior quarterback from Alburn. They'll hurry to the

(01:40:02):
line first and ten for their own thirty one two
white either side, throw here to the near side. It
is caught by asking you and he's brought down to
the thirty two yard line. Good stopped by Lakedrick Burks
pick up of two. It'll be second down in eight seven,
twenty eight o'clock running here in the third quarter. Actually
they gave him the thirty three yard line, so second

(01:40:24):
down and seven, and I'll still say second to night,
come on four wide receivers to the right side. Singer
receiver here to the left side. Meyer steps up in
the pocket. Now we'll tuck it and run, and he's
hit down of the thirty yard line. Good shot there
by Baby TJ at the thirty yard line, and Myers
will lose three yards back to the thirty yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:40:46):
By big plate, big plate defense.

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
And that will bring up a third and right at
ten for the Bulldog defense. Ope like e leading twenty
one to fourteen as we play here in the third,
six forty eight to go.

Speaker 5 (01:40:57):
Come on, Dolph Fans, get up.

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
Two white outs to the right, single receiver to the
left side. Myer's low stamp hits it, throws a short
pass complete to Jaden King, and he's cut down of
the thirty two yard line. Nice play. Norman Matthews crashing
down or I believe that may be tray Stone, But whoever
made the tackle slow to get up, and I believe
that is Norman Matthews. He was banged up earlier and

(01:41:24):
he is stilled down on the deck and slow to
get up. It'll be fourth down and punting time for
the Tigers.

Speaker 6 (01:41:29):
Well, that's two great defensive stops we've made.

Speaker 5 (01:41:32):
Van.

Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
But Norman Matthews, the injured Bulldog now up on his feet,
come on her, trying to shake something off here tonight.
But all right, come on boy, now Norman will not
wanting to put much weight on that right ankle that
looks like but comes off the field and now Joseph
Daniel lined up to punt it away. Andre Van stands

(01:41:53):
inside the twenty five yard line to await this return.
White hand blows the play in snamp coming from the
thirty two yard line, and that one nearly block, ohty block,
I did too. Andre will vacate the premises. It'll be

(01:42:14):
down to the thirty five yard line and that's where
Opalaika will start first and ten up seven and a
first and ten for the Bulldog offense. Is they tried
on the field here, it's got coach, No.

Speaker 6 (01:42:24):
I'm just thinking about that official calling that shot block.

Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
Well, you said no excuses in the pregame, coach, and
I got to move past that now.

Speaker 5 (01:42:33):
Oh you're right, you're right, I'm wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
Mac. We gotta get on him now.

Speaker 8 (01:42:37):
I know.

Speaker 10 (01:42:38):
Just gonna keep playing, pop, keep playing.

Speaker 5 (01:42:40):
That's right, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:42:41):
From the thirty six Opaca first and ten.

Speaker 5 (01:42:47):
They did not run the ball the first time they
had it.

Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
Let's see white out either side and Cooper out of
the shotgun. Here first and ten hand off. This is
Jalen Elsen across the forty five, Nelson across midfield. He's
in the Tiger territory. They'll mark him down at the
forty seven yard line of Auburn. That's a Lambert transfer
and storage first down, seventeen yard pickup and a big

(01:43:11):
first down run by Jalen Nelson.

Speaker 5 (01:43:14):
That's a great pull by Whitlow and.

Speaker 2 (01:43:17):
Kick out white out either side. Here's a hand off
again to Nelson running near side, Nelson behind the block.
Nelson down close to the forty yard line, Nelson close
to seven yards behind his offensive line. Come on, marking
down at the forty one. A pickup of six twenty
one fourteen Bulldogs with the lead five thirty six, the

(01:43:38):
clock running here in the third quarter, Nelson certainly is
fresh carries here, first carries and Nelson at the thirty five.
Nelson nearly broke it. He's down to the thirty two
yard line, and that fresh body in the game picks
up nine yards and Nelson toping the right big off
the bench and now CJ. Johnson said, come on and

(01:44:00):
let's rotate in and the big fella is ready to
come back in. Boy that dad Dayla Nelson some great
carries off the bench and he's got another Lambert transfer
in storts first down of the Tiger thirty two yard line.

Speaker 5 (01:44:13):
This is our third possession.

Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
Come on boys, first and ten of the Tiger thirty
two for Opalaikat leading twenty one to fourteen. Too wide
out and left stamp and the handoff goes to CJ.
And he has brought down the back of the thirty
five yard line. Somebody did not block the linebacker as
he flew in there, number twenty seven and that was

(01:44:38):
Elizah Scott defense the end. The Bulldogs lost two yards
second down in twelve.

Speaker 5 (01:44:48):
You notice we're right around the thirty yard line every.

Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
Time, it seems like it. At the thirty four of
Auburns second and twelve for the Bulldogs, a wide out
to either side and handoff goes to CJ. Nice moving
the back. He'll CEJ stays on the feet inside the
thirty stats his way down to the twenty six yard
line and eight yard pick up for CJ. Johnson and
that'll set up a third down and right at five

(01:45:13):
coming up here for the Bulldog five. Yeah, we lost
a couple third and five four oh three to play
in the third down at the twenty six of Alburn
two wides to the left side. Running back remains c J.
Johnson with Cooper hard count and the Tigers jumped. That'll
be a first down move the chains Lambert transfer and storage.

(01:45:35):
First down down to the twenty one and a first down.
Gotta cash this one in.

Speaker 6 (01:45:48):
No chuck flocks down there, guys, come on.

Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
No penalties.

Speaker 2 (01:45:54):
Three forty one left in the third quarter, first and
ten at the Tiger twenty one Opelaika with the football
loan back c J. Johnson Cooper out of the shotgun.
Cooper gets the snap, they'll hand it to CJ. Behind
his blockers again CJ standing on his feet. CJ down
to the fifteen yard line. That is a six yard
run by CJ. Johnson and right now wearing on this

(01:46:18):
defensive front here for Aubert.

Speaker 5 (01:46:20):
I agree, hows I was just fitching say that.

Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
A lot of number twos in there too. They do
have number zero, the big guy Colin King, but right
now Carnel Jackson, Big ninety nine is not in the game.
Second down in four, and they'll give it to CJ. Again.
CJ cut down and picks up one down to the
fourteen yard line, and that will bring up third down
and four coming up here for Opalaika. Third and three.

(01:46:46):
They'll call it two forty nine and to go here
in the third two white outs to the left side.
Jalen Nelson out checks in the ball game. Oh, big
three yards here with Cooper again a hard count. They'll
check the sidelines. Two wide outs to the left side.
Blake Johnson is your full back down to seven on

(01:47:10):
the play, click down the six down to five. Cooper
gets the snap. Nope, time out gotta be taken here
by coach Brian Moore. Here on a very important third
and three when we come back Dogs on top twenty
one fourteen. Big third down for the Bulldogs. We come
back here on the kicker Ophlaikah. Big decision here for

(01:47:35):
coach Brian Moore. Out of the time out down to
the fourteen yard line of Auburn. It will be third
and three for the Bulldogs. CJ. Johnson is in the ballgame.
Blake Johnson lined up at the h back position and
two twenty two to go in the third quarter, and
the Bulldog's leading twenty one to fourteen under center, when
Cooper will go and now checks back to the sidelines.

(01:47:58):
Huge third down play here for Opalaikah trying to keep
this drive going inside the fifteen of Auburn Cooper under center.
They'll bring a man in motion and a quick inside
hand off to Blake Johnson, and Johnson's gonna be close
to the first down, gonna be stopped, I think sure,
but it's gonna be down to the thirteen and and

(01:48:20):
here comes the field goal team out. Reese Beasley will
try it out here on a fourth in and two,
so you hope Reese can shake the cobwebs out a
little bit here. He's missed three field goals long range ones,
though this one we'll be right out of thirty yarder
here from again that right hash, but more in the

(01:48:43):
This is almost the chip shot here. Good snap hold
is down and that kick is up and it is good.
Kick is good, and the Bulldogs take a ten point
lead on Auburn twenty four to firteen with one thirty
eight to play. Mac McCracken, holding your breath on that one.

Speaker 7 (01:49:04):
Yes, sir, I was making that sure that they gone
all the way through big field going right there. Way
to come back and asswer after the miss too. You're
up by ten now. Defensively, just got to keep it
in the mirrors and just keep off pressing that quarterback
and just keep the momentum all that mold Dad, it's
all moved absolutely right.

Speaker 5 (01:49:22):
You're right, Mack.

Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
And as a two possession game as we wind down
close to the fourth quarter, here one thirty eight left
in the third and your defense is playing really good.
And you can tell tonight Auburn's not trying to go
deep with the football at all with case admirers and
that shoulder that he's been dealing with since that injury
at Daphne and coach, it's been good adjustments by Opal,
like his defense to really know he has not shown

(01:49:45):
he can air it out deep down fail yet, so
they're playing everything tight.

Speaker 6 (01:49:48):
That first game he was throwing them, oh yeah, thirty
forty fifty yards.

Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
He's certainly a gamer tonight. I give him credit tonight
for coming in on a on an injured shoulder and
doing what he's done tonight. He's been outstanding. He's kept
Auburn in the ballgame. Come on, here is the Rhys
bas Leak kicker for Opelaika. He'll kick from left to
right and a booming kick and then will sail into

(01:50:13):
the end zone for a touchback, and Auburn will have
it first and ten for their own twenty yard line.
But the Tigers find themselves down ten now as we
wind down close to the fourth quarter. One at twenty eight, Boy,
a big interception by tray Stone. Boy, you wish you
to come up with points there. But get another turnover
right here, Coach McCracken, would be huge, and another score

(01:50:33):
here would really stretch this thing out. Case. And Myers
comes back out for quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:50:42):
Gotta keep the pressure on him him.

Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
Trips to the left side of the field. Come on, defense,
Myers out of the shot gun on first down, gets
the stamp, drops back and he's hit and he's gonna
go down. Now, there's a flag down too at the
line of scrimmage, and the ballpip out at the end,
but they had blown the whistle. There is a flag
down at the fifteen yard line, right at the line

(01:51:06):
of scrimmage, so we'll wait and see. And you would
think that would be an offensive hold against Alburn. Looks
like it will be. But the question is do you
do you decline it? Make it second down because it
was already going to be a big loss on the play.
And heh they will decline it, yeah, coach Brian Moore

(01:51:26):
says he will decline it. So Losh, get back to
the twelve. That's that's that's the kicker there. He lost
about eight yards. I believe the line of scrimmage is
the twelve. It looks like that's where they've got the
football marked. So one twenty six left in the third

(01:51:46):
and a big loss on the play. This will be
a second down and a mile coming up here for
the offense of Alburn.

Speaker 5 (01:51:54):
Now keep that pressure on, h come on, got to
bring them guys.

Speaker 2 (01:51:57):
Second down in eighteen trips to the left side, single
receiver to the right, Myers out of the shotgun, an
empty backfield, steps up, throws across the middle and behind
his receiver that was intended for BJ Collins, and a
third and a mile coming up now for Myers. And
you can tell from his body language he is he
just is not feeling comfortable back there right now.

Speaker 5 (01:52:18):
Oh I might know it. Just keep bringing the pressure on.

Speaker 2 (01:52:22):
Him and A lot of that has to do with
the pressure.

Speaker 5 (01:52:25):
They gonna bring four. They gonna bring four this time.

Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
I believe Shideline from Opalaika tells the crowd to get
on their feet. Here on a third down and eighteen
for the Tigers from their own twelve yard line. Opelika
leading twenty four fourteen on six to play in the third,
Myers out of the shotgun, drops back, gonna set up
a screen. It's defended by Opelaika, and he's slipped and

(01:52:48):
had a nice job getting up field, and he's gonna
be close to the first down. They had to get
to the thirty, so he is very short. Still. Yeah,
let's look. I was looking at the original line of
scrimmage of the.

Speaker 5 (01:53:03):
Coach.

Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
I scared myself.

Speaker 5 (01:53:08):
Bet'll watch Auburn here now there run a.

Speaker 2 (01:53:10):
Faint card to look through your double pane glass window
over there, coach, Yeah, I understand. Joseph Daniel to punt
it away. Here is Andre Van stands it around his
thirty one yard line. Snap high hanging punt and let
it get out of the way, and they'll take an
Auburn roll down around the thirty yard line. Whe the

(01:53:31):
Bulldogs will have the football back up by ten as
we get close to the fourth quarter, just forty six
seconds do remain here in this third quarter and with
Cooper and the offense will come back out and boy,
you'd love to see a championship type drive here, Coach
marchya all the way to Birmingham.

Speaker 5 (01:53:46):
We got that, We've got the momentum.

Speaker 6 (01:53:48):
Now this is this is a little like Baker, but
not as this team's lot better than that.

Speaker 5 (01:53:54):
All right, guys, come.

Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
On, cee J. Johnson the tailback here for the Bulldogs
Opalika from their own thirty one yard line semi final
game here at Duck Safford Stadium and the Tigers trail
right now on their home field. By Tim, here's a
hand off to c J. Johnson. CEJ on his stet
across the thirty five and Cej's up all the way

(01:54:16):
to the thirty eight yard line. It is a seven
yard pickup and that should be the final play seconds
of the fourth quarter. I think coach Moore is waving
them all says let's take it to the fourth and
you know this Bulldog sideline is about to erupt and
get on their feet with a ten point lead headed
into the fourth and final quarter and it will be

(01:54:37):
a second down and four for Opeliko When we start
quarter number four.

Speaker 5 (01:54:42):
Mat get them going down there. Boy's got a babby.
Let's go hang alo who I've just said to Championship Drive.
That's what we gotta do.

Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
Twelve minutes away, one team is heading to Birmingham and
the Bulldogs have the ten point lead as we head
to the fourth here at the dunk here, let's no
polka football here on the kicker fourth quarter we go Bulldogs,

(01:55:09):
second down and four. Opelikah will have it from there
on thirty eight yard line. Opelaca leading twenty four to
fourteen to start the fourth quarter here at Duck Sanford Stadium.
Two white outs to the left side for Cooper. Tailback
remains C. J. Johnson here. On second down and four,
Cooper drops back, throws it to Johnson out of the
flats and Johnson's got the first down up to the

(01:55:31):
forty two yard line. It'll be a Lambert transfer in
storage first down. They'll mark it up to the forty
three yard line and that will be a five yard
pickup and that will miss the change.

Speaker 6 (01:55:41):
Julian Pritchett, Jeremy Dillard forbyn Fields. Fierce Deis Whitlow and
Eric Mason take us to Birmingham Boys.

Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
Come on eleven forty four left in this rivalry show Down,
one hundred and first meeting. And now you can see
Opelaikah taking their time working the play down to ten.
When they break the huddle two wides to the right,
Blake Johnson. The tight end to the left loan back
is CJ. Johnson. First down hand off goes to CJ.

(01:56:12):
CJ Cross midfield. CJ broke it at the forty it's side,
the thirty it's side of the twenty ten CJ touchdown Bulldogs.
Touchdown Bulldogs. C J mayn just carry the Bulldogs to Birmingham.

Speaker 11 (01:56:28):
Jes Yes, yes, yes, Resa Easley for the extra point.
It's thirty to fourteen.

Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
Oh, I look like a jip. Take it off boy,
I feed the doll and let him hunt. And that
is CJ. Johnson who Reece Beasley for the extra point
to make this a thirty one fourteen ball game. Here
with eleven fourteen to play, snap good, place good, and

(01:57:03):
the kick is up and the kick is good. Courty
won fourteen Dogs on Tome. You're listening to Opal like
a Bulldog football that's score and drive, power by friends
and open like a power services hometown people working for
you online oplelakapower dot com. Seej Johnson to the house

(01:57:28):
with a fifty seven yard touchdown run and ciej gives
the Bulldogs a bigger cushion here. Seventeen point lead. Still
a lot of time left in this one eleven to fourteen,
but maybe that could be the play that really sets
up the Bulldogs for the push to Birmingham. Rhys Beasley

(01:57:48):
has it teed up. He'll kick from right to left
and beasily end over end kick and it will go
into the n song for a touchback and Auburn will
have it from the on twenty yard line. Tigers have
done nothing offensively here so far in this second half. Hope,
like his defense, hopefully can come out and get another

(01:58:08):
big stop here to open up play here, as this
will be the Tiger's first possession here in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (01:58:16):
This is gonna be a crucial stop right here.

Speaker 2 (01:58:19):
Jason Myers trots back out. He's been a gamer tonight,
trying to play through an injury.

Speaker 5 (01:58:23):
Keep bringing that pressure. They got a three man pressure.

Speaker 2 (01:58:29):
Myers out of the shotgun. He's got trips to the right,
two receivers to the left. Come on, Myers drops back,
throws and hit Pat at the twenty two yard line.
Right at the twenty four they'll say with Ford progress,
Graydon Howard, he came in and laid out Josh ask
you right when he caught it. And you can tell
right now, Hope I could keeping everything in front saying
we're not gonna keep working the little short passing game

(01:58:50):
to the side.

Speaker 5 (01:58:51):
They made five on that.

Speaker 2 (01:58:53):
Yeah, well be second down in six ten fifty one
Tigers when they're on twenty four, low snap, my picks
it up, throws and it is caught down the sideline
wheel route at midfield and down close to the forty
one yard line. Long just throw for Myers tonight, and
that was a good one as he hooked up with
number one DJ Collins with a big play all the

(01:59:13):
way down to the Opalaika forty one yard line. And
that play is good for thirty five yards maybe the
biggest offensive play I think for Auburn tonight. They're gonna
hurry up to the line of scrimmage at the Bulldog
forty one and the flag down, and this looks like
it'll go against Auburn five yard penalty.

Speaker 5 (01:59:30):
Yep, no Heady called it against us.

Speaker 2 (01:59:33):
Illegal substitution against Opalaiko. Bulldogs are trying to get some
subs in. That's a tough five yard penalty. That'll be
down to the thirty six now and we'll be a
first and five.

Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
Come on defense, let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
Bulldog's leading thirty one fourteen. We got ten twenty eight
to play this Tiger team. When they don't want a store,
they can score quick.

Speaker 5 (01:59:58):
We've got four rushing this.

Speaker 2 (02:00:00):
I'm five wide, three to the right, two to the
left for Myers. He'll bring a man in motion. They'll
fake it to the motion man and Myers run straight
up the middle and the ball stripped out at the end.
The Bulldogs got it at the twenty five yard line.
Opelika comes down with it the twenty five. They stripped Myers.
No signal yet. Boy the white hat comes over and talks,

(02:00:25):
this should be OPU like a football. He stripped it out.
Oh they keep it with overn Oh my goodness, Myers
had it stripped out at the thirty six yard line
and they say he was down.

Speaker 3 (02:00:41):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:00:42):
It will be a first down for the Tigers at
the thirty at the twenty six, they'll hand it off
in the backfield a King and King down to the
twenty yard line. Boy, what a huge call. That was
no replay of course in high school football, stood no
chance to go back and take a second look at
that one. But a six yard run there by Jaden King.

Speaker 5 (02:01:03):
Now I'm let to catch that dead gum long.

Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
Path second down in four at the twenty oft Oplaika.
Bulldog's leading thirty one to fourteen. Tiger's trying to scratch
and claw their way back in this one low snap again,
Myers got it completed the sixteen yard line as he
hooked up with Jaden King, and King is down close
to the ten yard line, and that will be another
first down. Myers and company first and ten right at

(02:01:33):
the ten yard line, and King cut down close to
the six yard line, so he'll pick up four yards. Boy,
almost have picked turn over there. Auburn looks like could
get a first down inside the one second down in
five nine two to play in this game. Myers fakes

(02:01:55):
it left and he got hint down to the six
yard line by Money Thomas tig time play there by
Money and Myers. Boy, you can tell he's feeling that shot.

Speaker 5 (02:02:07):
Yeah, he did.

Speaker 2 (02:02:08):
You're right he got hurt there. Yeah, he got hit
down at the six yard lines. So it will be
third down for the Tigers coming up here. Yeah, he
got hit third and five. They can get a first
down inside the one. I think coach Ethridg's thought about
it taking a time out here, but he'll bring the

(02:02:28):
play in here under ten on the play clock down
and nine. Tigers got a hurry. They got trips to
the right, two receivers to the left. Myers brings a
man in motion and again Myers will carry it and
he carries it into the end zone straight up the middle.
Bulldog's bit on the feet and Myers takes it in.

(02:02:52):
Big answer there for the Tigers. Here with eight sixteen
left in the game, thirty one to twenty and a
point after he will make this a ten point ball game.
So here's Joseph Daniel for the extra point. He moved,

(02:03:13):
snapped down and the kick is up and the kick
is good. Ten point game. We got eight minutes in
sixteen seconds left in this one, thirty one to twenty one.
Opelikah with the lead and we're back after this time
out here on the kicker, Hello, Pelakah, gotta be ready

(02:03:36):
on the hands team here with eight minutes left, still
a two possession game. Thirty one twenty one is our score,
o Pelakah leading by ten here with just over eight
minutes to go. Tigers do put one on the board
here to make this a ten point ball game. But
gotta be alert here with Joseph Daniel and he will

(02:03:56):
put a regular end over end kick that we'll sail
into the end zone and will not be returnable for Opelikah.
Bulldogs will have the football and the one thing you
can't have here, coach McCracken, when the time is of
the essence here for Auburn, they've got to get the
football back quickly. With eight and chains to go in
the game, they're down two possessions. So even if you
burn four or five minutes off the clock, that's a
win here for Opelika's offense. Yeah, I think so, even

(02:04:18):
if you don't come up with points, just can't have
a quick three and out. And you know Auburn's going
to be keying on that. Carnel Jackson back in the game,
Colin King, they're big starting tackles on defense, and it's
been the run game for Opelaika. They've got it first
and ten Dogs from their own twenty yard line. Cooper
out of the shotgun. Cooper gets the snap, they'll hand

(02:04:41):
it to CJ. CJ. Good positive run, picks up a couple.
Maybe actually go give them three yards up to the
twenty three yard line. Play small ball right here and
run that clock.

Speaker 5 (02:04:55):
Seven fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (02:05:01):
Tiger Lake getting up here. I believe there's going to
be an injured player. Looks like a Tiger down on
the play. So that'll stop the clock with the injury here,
seven fifty one to play, and it will be a
second down around seven for the Bulldogs when play resumes,
but time out on the field. Well back after this,

(02:05:22):
you're listening to Bulldog football on the kicker Elijah Sky,
the injured Tiger helped off the field and now he's
running the clock seven thirty seven. The clock continues to

(02:05:43):
run here in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 6 (02:05:44):
Yeah, Brian's gonna go and break the huddle, probably at fifteenth.

Speaker 2 (02:05:47):
Yeah, play clock down to twenty down to nineteen. Opelika
will break it. It will be a second down and
seven Bulldogs from their own twenty three yard line. Two
white outs to the right side of the field. Cooper
out of the sh shot gun. Cooper taking his time
down four, down to three, gets the snap and hands
the ball to CJ. CJ spinning his way up close

(02:06:09):
to the twenty five yard line, gets up to the
twenty three and you can see what coach Bryan Moore
is doing. Now. He wants to burn every bit of
that clock he can get and now try to convert
a third down and six, or it'll be that'll be
a third and five out extra yard up to the
twenty five yard line. So big third and five here

(02:06:31):
for the Bulldogs. Two wides to the right side. Opalaka
checks the sidelines, changing their play. Still plenty of time
on the play clock, down to ten, down to nine,
six thirty five to go in the game, down to six,
down to five. Wit gets at play action, Wit rolls,
throws and it is Cox Aalen's gotten at the thirty

(02:06:53):
five yard line, still on his feet and out of
bounds at the thirty seven yard line. Lambert transfer and
storage burst down. I'm throwing catch for the first down
from Wit Cooper to Jalen Washington.

Speaker 5 (02:07:04):
Beautiful and that.

Speaker 2 (02:07:06):
Gives the Dogs a fresh set of downs with six
twenty two to go in the game again, Opelike a
leading thirty one twenty one, a ten point advantage. Here,
he got my way through the first midway through this.

Speaker 5 (02:07:17):
Fourth quarter, and he went out of bounds. Must of.

Speaker 2 (02:07:27):
Bulldogs have it at the thirty seven of Alburn. CJ.
Johnson the tailbag here on first down, Cooper gets it,
hands the ball off to CJ. Nice bursts across the
forty five and CJ's up close to midfield. CJ up
to the forty nine yard line. That's a twelve yard
pickup in the lambort transfer and storage. First down, six

(02:07:51):
eleven left, and the clock continues to run. And the
clock right now not in the favor of the Tigers
with Opelika leading by ten and a little pepping the
step of the offensive line. I like that. You can
see big Ritt Mason hopping up and down. He's ready
to fly away for CJ. Johnson. The Dog's near midfield

(02:08:12):
right at there on forty nine yard line, first and ten,
five forty seven left and a ten point lead by
break one here CJ. They handed to CJ and CJ
runs right into the teeth of the Tigers and he
gets across midfield down to the Tiger forty nine yard
line for a two yard pickup. Jalen Nelson was checking in.

(02:08:34):
They said, now let's keep CJ out. Actually, Blake Johnson
will staying at full back, So Blake Johnson in at
full back here for Opelaika and number forty four Ali
Brogdon will take Blake's spot of the h back under

(02:08:57):
right at five oh four to go and across midfield
of the Tiger forty nine yard line. Second down to
eight for the Bulldogs. They'll hand it to Blake Johnson
and Blake is gonna be wrapped up now. Blake spun
out of it. They're gonna lose some yards. May have
been better off just to go down. They'll say, Ford
progress thankfully right at midfield and he'll only lose a couple.

(02:09:18):
It'll be third down and ten coming up for Opalaiko.
Clocks still running for thirty nine to play in the game.
Blake Johnson slow a little hibble coming off the field. Now,
Jalen Nelson will check in the game. He's been really
good here in the second half, Opelika went to the
air on the last third down, Coach, you think they

(02:09:38):
go to the air here.

Speaker 5 (02:09:39):
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what
he's going on.

Speaker 2 (02:09:42):
We'll think so right at the fifty you think you
can pin the Tigers back here. So we'll see Jayalen
Nelson the tail back now for wit Cooper here on
third down, they'll hand it to Nelson, Nelson trying to
find some blockers. Nelson across the forty five and up
to the forty. They'll mark him down at the forty five.
So cut down right at the forty five. It'll be
fourth down and right at five for Opalaikah.

Speaker 5 (02:10:04):
They called time No, they didn't call time out. Three
fifty five.

Speaker 2 (02:10:08):
They're going to burn it down to get it to
three point thirty, and I think Coach More, I'll call
a time out now. He's gonna bring his punt team
on here. Try to pin the Tigers deep here in
a ten point ball game. Here, Cli already down to
three forty fourteen on the play clock still, so they'll
be able to run it down pretty good. Late man

(02:10:29):
on for the Tigers down to five, down to four,
three thirty to go, and a late man on here
for Opalaika two and Opelak can have to take a
time out. So time out taken by coach Brian Moore,
not a big deal. There three twenty three to go
in the game, and opel like a leading by ten
mac McCracken. What you're thinking down there on the field.

Speaker 7 (02:10:51):
Well, we're gonna punt this ball away here and just
give it back to our defense.

Speaker 10 (02:10:57):
I like it, you know, Dave, you know, Pops and
defense Championship.

Speaker 5 (02:11:00):
Come back, get down there and fire them, but get it.

Speaker 10 (02:11:03):
Tell them, look, they ain't I ain't gonna tell them anything.

Speaker 7 (02:11:05):
They're fined up. They know what's on the line here.
But defensively, you can't give up any big plays.

Speaker 5 (02:11:11):
I'll just keep it in front.

Speaker 10 (02:11:13):
And they know what they're doing, and let's just dog nation.

Speaker 7 (02:11:16):
Wherever you are, if you're at that food truck Friday
watching off the big Jumbo tron, if you're here in
the stadium, Peperl Parkway, wherever you are, Monkey Park, get.

Speaker 10 (02:11:27):
It together here for this last drive for these dogs.

Speaker 2 (02:11:30):
If anybody's at Monkey Park right now, man, they may
have problems.

Speaker 10 (02:11:33):
I don't know, they're It's all good, all right.

Speaker 2 (02:11:36):
If you're cracking with the four seasons. Federal Credit Union
sideline report Opalaika down at the Tiger forty five yard
line and it'll be fourth down and five penny team
out here for Opelaka. Dogs lead at thirty one to
twenty one, three twenty three left in the ball game.

Speaker 5 (02:11:50):
They got one time out left.

Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
Good kick and Auburn will let it bounce and Bulldogs
race down to try to get it, and it goes
into the end zone. So the Tigers will have it
from their own twenty yard line. You'd love to append
them back deep there, but Tigers will have eighty yards
to go down ten in just three minutes and fifteen
seconds remaining here in this ball game. And right now

(02:12:16):
Auburn ken out of ford a long sustained rive. They're
going to have to score quickly here and more than
likely go for an on side kick. But in this game,
we've seen it all. Got to pressure him now, Myers
out of the shotgun. Four wide receivers to the right
singer receiver to the left side of the field. Now

(02:12:37):
the Tigers will shift around down to thirteen on the
play clock, down to ten, three wide to the left
side of the field. Hope I could trying to get
defenders shuffled around. Myers steps up in the pocket. He's
in some trouble. Now we'll run here to the near side,
far side of the field. Throws and finds his receiver
called it the thirty three yard line. That is hauled
in and caught by Levi Kelly up to around the

(02:13:00):
thirty one yard line before he's pushed out of bounds.
But that will be an eleven yard pickup and a
first down. Clock's running credit that line for Auburn. They've
done a good job protecting Myers for the most part tonight.
All their wide receivers got a big head start. No
flag on the play. Myers scrambled drill throws at the
thirty one. It is hauled in and it is caught,

(02:13:22):
and now the Tigers Antonio Welch gets up close to
the forty five yard line. Boy, the wide receivers took
off before the snap got away with one there another
first down Auburn and they get it up to the
forty four yard line. That was good for thirteen yards.
Myers hurrying back up to thirty nine to play. Myers
drops back, steps up in the pocket. Boys got all day.

(02:13:44):
Throws at the forty seven yard line cross midfield, and
that is Levi Kelly out of bounds and time winding
down now to twenty five to go, and there is
an injured player here for Opalika. Think Carson Riddle goes down.
It Riddles down at the forty yard line. So Carson

(02:14:04):
is going to get tended to, maybe cramping up here
on a Chiley night here in November thirty one, twenty one,
two twenty five to play tiger football. We come back
here on the kicker Myers out of the shygun on
first down, he's flushed out of the pocket, throws one
deep down field and that is incomplete and a flag

(02:14:28):
comes in. That's going to be a hold on Opalaika
going downfield. Jaden King And I don't know is there
another flag back in this vicinity here? Pass interference against Opelaika,
So we'll be interference against Opelika. That will be a

(02:14:49):
fifteen yard penalty. Two seventeen left in the ball game,
ten point lead here for Opalaika. Auburn scores here, they'll
still need to get an on side kick, but trying
to make it a three point game here inside the
thirty down at the opal like a twenty eight, first
and ten Auburn. Five wide. Look, Myers drops back throws

(02:15:13):
and it is high, but climbing the ladder for it,
Josh ask you somehow came down with it, and he
makes the grab at the fifteen yard line. Well, I
thought that was well over his head, I said, Josh
Ascue showed this basketball skills there, going up and climbing
the ladder for that. One got to get to this quarterback.
He makes the catch actually down at the nineteen yard line,

(02:15:35):
and it was short of the first down by a yard.
So it'll be second and one Myers again. Five wide. Look,
Myers drops back throws far side of the field. It
is hauled in and caught. This is Kelly and he's
going to be brought down first down, inside the ten
down at the nine. It'll be first and goal Auburn,
and a lot of time on this drive here it'll
stop with two O two left. Bulldogs again with a

(02:15:57):
ten point lead here, thirty one to twenty one. But
this one are from over. You gotta get to this
quarterback trips to the right, two receivers to the left.
Five white. Look, there you go. Here's Miners straight up
the middle inside the five admirers in the end zone
for the touchdown and the Tigers a point after away
from making this a three point ball game here with

(02:16:19):
one forty four left, they will need to get an
on side kick. But boy, you've seen crazy things happen
in this one of the Tigers have scored thirteen unanswered
here and here's a point after attempt coming from Joseph
Daniel boy in a shift there by Auburn gets opal

(02:16:48):
like at a jump. I'm not sure Auburn will try
to go for two with a little bit of flinch
and shift didn't get opal like at a jump. Thirty
one twenty seven, now one forty four to play, Snap down,

(02:17:20):
and the kick is up and the kick is good.
Three point ball game right now, Opelikah with the lead,
opel Like, you're gonna have to recover an onside kick
with one forty four to play, and we're back after
this time out, you listen to Bulldog football here on
the qube Opelikah getting ready for what we assume will

(02:17:47):
be an on side kick here with Cooper also out there.
The quarterback on the hands team, Blake Johnson. You got
Trey Stone and company awaiting this onside kick here for
Alburn Joseph Daniel to kick it. A three point game
right now, Bulldogs with the lead, just a minute forty

(02:18:09):
four left, and here comes the on side kick. Now
it's a squib kick. They'll kick it down in the
end zone. So interesting move there, coach Etheridge with all
three timeouts, or kick it down the field and give
Opalaika a chance here, and he wants his defense to
come up with one stop here and give his offense

(02:18:29):
the football back. And remember just a three point game
right now, so Auburn would not need to score a touchdown.
They would just need a field goal to tie and
send us it over time. We need one first down
to win this game, yes we do. Bulldogs up by
three here with one forty four to play, Dogs in
their on twenty yard line, Cooper out of the shotgun.

(02:18:55):
They'll hand it to CJ. Johnson. CJ with a good run.
CJ's up close to the twenty five card line. He'll
get the twenty five yard line and coach Keith Ethridge
quickly comes in and calls a timeout. But boy, what
a huge five yard pickup there for c J. Johnson
on first down. It'll be second and five for the Bulldogs,
but timeout on the field, So there is the first

(02:19:18):
of two timeouts for coach Keith Etherrich. Two lefts, two
timeouts left correct one of thirty six. The clock has
stopped and Auburn has made this a three point ball game,
a lot more interesting than a Blaka had in the
fourth quarter leading thirty one to seventeen or thirty one

(02:19:41):
to fourteen. Let's go down to the field of Mac McCracken.
Mac Hey, Van boys. It's a little familiar, you, ain't it, Pops.
We talked about this all summer with you and Van
and Jason. Ten yards, get your first down and you
go to Birmingham. This is what we talked about. This
is what they've prepaired for the whole year. This is

(02:20:02):
your ten yards. You've only got files. You gonna keep
it going. I like it.

Speaker 4 (02:20:06):
Mac.

Speaker 2 (02:20:07):
Five yard pick up there for o Palacadoga. I formation
needing a first down here and the big fellows for Auburn.
Tight on the line of scrimmage, Cooper under center man.
They'll hand it to CJ. And CJ's got a good
burst and CJ's up close to the thirty yard line.
CJ pushing the pile. He's got a stow on his
feet downfield across the fifty. CJ's inside the thirty five
and he's pushed down from behind the twenty six yard line.

(02:20:30):
Book your tickets, folks, First Dawn Bulldogs.

Speaker 5 (02:20:36):
Unbelieve.

Speaker 2 (02:20:37):
It was almost like the Albert Oregon play. CJ spun around,
staying on his feet. The whistle didn't blow, and he's
got the Dogs first down at Tiger territory one two left,
Dog's up by three thirty one twenty eight clock starts
back running one fourteen. No time out called by Keith

(02:21:01):
oh pol Like it can go to the victory formation here, yes.

Speaker 1 (02:21:03):
Sir.

Speaker 2 (02:21:06):
Oh Man, Whit Cooper brings the troops up and they'll
go I formation, Wit under center. That'll be a quick
hand off to Blake Johnson and Blake spinning his way
down to the twenty three yard line. And still no
time out taken by coach tith Ethridge. Well, if they

(02:21:27):
do take a time out, but with forty seven seconds left,
thirty one, twenty eight Dogs can smell the Super seven
underdogs all season long and all through the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (02:21:47):
A sixteen point underdog. That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (02:21:50):
I would like to say that by one outlet, not
not this outlet. Never doubt the Bulldogs. Matt McCracken, What
you got.

Speaker 5 (02:22:01):
Who? Mack?

Speaker 3 (02:22:03):
You there?

Speaker 10 (02:22:03):
Back Cow, I'm here, baby, I'm in the I'm in
the fun bunks down here.

Speaker 2 (02:22:08):
One more right there, mister bail wreck Mac, I got
two letters for you. See Jay, Yeah, I'm so little
like I didn't even have the ball off. Just deal
this thing, Yeah no, you just sez kneel. Fifty seconds left,
thirty one twenty eight. Dogs ie formation again with Cooper

(02:22:28):
under center at the tiger twenty three. They'll hand it
to c J and blow the whistle. There's a whistle
down to forty two seconds and coach Keith Etherridge will
take his final time out and it will be a
third down and seven for Opalaiko. Well with one more

(02:22:53):
play with.

Speaker 6 (02:22:54):
It, one more play they can't get the ball back.

Speaker 2 (02:23:00):
It will be very, very difficult from this point on
here out of timeouts. Thompson Leeds Central Big thirty one
fourteen up the road the winner of this game. Of course,
we'll meet that winner a week from Wednesday, December third

(02:23:20):
in Birmingham in the Super seven. Coach Brian Moore making
sure he gives out orders to his sideline. I think
that was a make sure they behave correctly sideline conversation.
They are going to take any The best formation in football,

(02:23:43):
my friends, is the victory formation. At the twenty two
of Auburn the snap, Witt Cooper goes down. There's a
flag on the play as Wit was hit. I'm not
sure if they're going to get Opelika with a false start.
They are well, they got one of the outfits of

(02:24:04):
line and flinching on the victory formation. Forty two seconds
on the clock.

Speaker 5 (02:24:15):
They don't have any time out.

Speaker 2 (02:24:16):
They're out of timeouts. Now you're right, coach, is it
fourth down? It's third down right now down? So I
still don't think Auburn will have any chance to get
the football back. We'll see, hope all I can still
breaks huddle going to the victory formation. Jordan Wakes is
on the field back at the forty as an in

(02:24:37):
case emergency, get down in town and takes the knee
back at the thirty five yard line. Auburn cannot stop
the clock. The clock is stopped though never started. Look
at that, Brian Moore's are back boy. The clock never
started and now the clock is stopped with thirty one seconds.

Speaker 5 (02:25:02):
Oh this is.

Speaker 2 (02:25:06):
Oh, you can't mess the clock up in this situation.
White hat over talking to the officials. But other games
should be over. Well, you certainly don't want to end
this one with the clock malfunct. Should I'm sure Mack
McCracken will get everybody straightened out. Down to the field.

Speaker 5 (02:25:26):
Mac, what's going on with the clock?

Speaker 7 (02:25:28):
Well, the time is there's not enough time left in
the game. That didn't add it up right, so they
stopped the cock So he's just trying to make sure
he gets the clock right.

Speaker 3 (02:25:39):
Is that it?

Speaker 2 (02:25:41):
Ball game?

Speaker 3 (02:25:42):
Now?

Speaker 2 (02:25:42):
Whine it down down to seven, then to six, down
to four, three two, Birmingham. The only fireworks postgame are
from the opal Akah Bulldogs here at Duck Sandford's Stadium,
and we are going to Birmingham thirty one twenty eight

(02:26:07):
Dogs a winner here at Doug Sanford Stadium. Bulldog fans
that weren't here, The party is headed to the Parkway
and we will be cheering these Bulldogs on when they
pulled back up at open Laga High School tonight. My friends,
Coach McCracken, we are going to the state championship going.

Speaker 5 (02:26:27):
Congratulations, my friend.

Speaker 2 (02:26:29):
Congratulations you too, buddy, longtime broadcasting.

Speaker 6 (02:26:32):
Congratulations and all these coaches and players and fans.

Speaker 2 (02:26:37):
What a night for Open for the third time in
school history, Open like aheads to the state championship game,
and for the first time since joining seven eight. Amen,
the Bulldogs will head next week, a week from Wednesday,
to the state championship game.

Speaker 5 (02:26:53):
Amen. Boy, there's so many happy people tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:26:56):
Godly congratulations to Auburn on a good season. Coach Keith Ether,
it's good friend, and they you know, I got to
tip my cap to coach to their quarterback tonight, Casey Myers.
I mean, you talk about a gutsy kid who comes
off the bench and he's spot at the team seven
nothing and and the way he played through an injury tonight.

(02:27:17):
But I tell you what the defense rope alike then,
But don't break fourth quarter Auburn made it certainly interesting.
But the Bulldogs have knocked off the Tigers and ended
a six game losing streak to the guys in Royal Blue.

Speaker 5 (02:27:30):
Amen.

Speaker 2 (02:27:32):
Oh why and we are heading to Birmingham. The postgame
show comes your way next. You're listening noble like a
bulldog football right here on ninety seven point seven kicker
f em party on us Afford Stadium tonight, Oble like

(02:28:02):
a Bulldog's a winner over the Auburn Hide Tigers thirty
one twenty eight. Coach McCracken, Jason Lee, myself and Mac McCracken.
We are heading to Birmingham next week along with these
Opal like a bulldogs. Such deserve. What a heck of
a playoff run for Opal like a Dog's ten and
three on the season after a huge win tonight over

(02:28:24):
their arts rival Auburn and coming back it really you
know they wanted this Auburn team again after following seventeen
to ten at home earlier this season, and boy what
a win it was for Opal Like at tonight thirty
one twenty eight. I couldn't be more proud to be
an Opal like a bulldog tonight. As a boy, it
did not look good at points of this season, coach,

(02:28:47):
he left Enterprise and we were looking at each other, going, boy,
didn't look good. I didn't look good. The next week
against Central No, it looked worse and then turned it
around against a Carver team coach where Witt Cooper goes
down in the game and everything looked bad. The defense
picked up won that game in a tight When twenty
four to fourteen, you go on the road to Hewitt,

(02:29:08):
trustful of double digit underdog. Nobody given opal like a
chance in that game. They went at twenty seven to
twenty one, again double digit underdogs, again at home to Baker,
the number one team for Mobile and the Dogs smoked
the Hornets thirty five to nine last week, and nobody
gave him a shot to win this one tonight here
at Duck Sanford Stadium, and Auburn goes down to the

(02:29:30):
Bulldogs thirty one twenty eight, and the party is on
here at Duck Sanford Stadium. Matt McCracken with a trophy presentation.
Bulldogs get and.

Speaker 5 (02:29:43):
Fast to his pen, the mody up down.

Speaker 2 (02:29:51):
For the semi final. Trophy handed out of the fifty
yard line to the Bulldogs and they are mobbing. And boy,
it doesn't get much worse than on your home field
having your rivals celebrate in front of you as they
punch their ticket of the state championship game. But you
see coach Ethards right now, he's walking up and down
giving his team a message, and you know It's one

(02:30:12):
of the things we were talking before this game, coach
I said, I said, Coach Keith Ethfers has won five
state championships. He's played in two more. I mean, this
guy's been in that big game before, in the big moment.
We could tell I talked to him earlier this week.
He was real relax, you know. And I could tell
Coach Moore was a little little tight this week, you know.
But you know, Coach Moore has been trying to get
here to the state championship game.

Speaker 5 (02:30:32):
Coach Moore has never been in.

Speaker 2 (02:30:33):
He's never been in one. Yeah, I mean, and he's
punched his ticket tonight in a dramatic fashion here against
the Auburn High Tigers at Duck Sandford Stadium. I think
if you said, Coach Moore, how do you want to
get to Birmingham? You want to win it at your
rivals home field, don't you?

Speaker 4 (02:30:49):
A man?

Speaker 5 (02:30:50):
I would say so?

Speaker 2 (02:30:52):
Or the crowd is on their feet.

Speaker 6 (02:30:53):
And I'm going to tell his wife make sure that
she takes care of I'm going to go out to
any games or get.

Speaker 5 (02:31:01):
Get the Alabama high school election. So session on him.

Speaker 6 (02:31:05):
That was just what an incredible game. I'm gonna take
you something though. That quarterback from Auburn. You got to
give him a lot of kudos. He hung in there
and got his bail rung, and uh, you know, they
almost came back that on. I thought they were going
on side kick at the end, didn't you think I did?

Speaker 2 (02:31:27):
But I could see where Coach Effards was going there.
He trusted his defense, so he thought that, you know,
they could bear down and try to load the box
and stop the run and use his timeouts and get
the football back. All they needed was a field goal.
But you got to give credit where credits due. The
defense from Auburn was loading the box. They were stopping
the run. They were trying everything they could to stop
the run. But it's hard to stop number three.

Speaker 3 (02:31:48):
C J.

Speaker 2 (02:31:49):
Johnson. Boy, he did have an exceptional job that run.

Speaker 6 (02:31:52):
That way that he made the sixty something whatever yarder
that buried it.

Speaker 2 (02:31:58):
Oh, absolutely no doubt about it. That was a difference
maker in the ball game for sure. Mac. You got
where are you at down there? Mac?

Speaker 10 (02:32:06):
I'm right here below you on the fifty?

Speaker 5 (02:32:08):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:32:09):
You got any you got any special guests here?

Speaker 5 (02:32:11):
I'm looking.

Speaker 10 (02:32:12):
I mean, let's see here.

Speaker 2 (02:32:13):
I need to talk to I need to talk to
CJV and catch his bread.

Speaker 7 (02:32:16):
Point to me, point point, see if you can see
if you can find him real quick here.

Speaker 10 (02:32:23):
I mean, there's so many I wish I could take
every single one.

Speaker 5 (02:32:26):
That's Blake right there.

Speaker 2 (02:32:27):
Thirty Yeah, I see, I see my Trey Stones right there.
I mean, you know Blake Trey Stone right at the
fifty yard line. Mac, I've completely lost Mac. I don't
know where he is. I say that right here.

Speaker 10 (02:32:40):
I got Blake Dhamma Johnson.

Speaker 5 (02:32:42):
You got that.

Speaker 2 (02:32:42):
Go ahead, Blake senior year.

Speaker 7 (02:32:45):
Baby, you just took down the Auburn Tigers. Restore some
order that I know.

Speaker 5 (02:32:50):
You all been.

Speaker 7 (02:32:50):
It's been long, le's been sweet. You're going to Birmingham
to play for the seven A state title.

Speaker 5 (02:32:55):
It feel good man, he's tacking that and we played
out of ten and that's all cool. Talked about his
still connected and we did what we did.

Speaker 2 (02:33:01):
They came out and got a good team win.

Speaker 7 (02:33:03):
All right, talk to us out and felt, I know
to to knock off your arch rival, Hey, dead one
six in a row against you beat you this year
in Oplaika.

Speaker 5 (02:33:13):
How sweet it is to get that revenge?

Speaker 2 (02:33:15):
Riskly, it felt good. It was really mustionful, but we
did what we had to do to get to win.

Speaker 5 (02:33:19):
All right.

Speaker 7 (02:33:19):
Hey, look y'all, rest enjoy the evening, enjoy this weekend.

Speaker 10 (02:33:22):
Rest up, because you're going to Birmingham, all.

Speaker 2 (02:33:25):
Right, Thank you. Mac McCracken there with Blake the Hammer,
Johnson and Mac with you.

Speaker 5 (02:33:31):
Yeah yeah, uh.

Speaker 10 (02:33:33):
Jason Lee is on assignment following me. He's gonna round
me up some people, so he told me to stay put.

Speaker 2 (02:33:38):
All right, we'll take a time out. We'll come back

one twenty eight. Oplelike again a winter tonight here over
the Auburn High Tigers. Moore coming up on the way next.
Welcome back as we continue you here on the postgame show.

(02:33:59):
their tenth win of the season here at Samford Citium.
It is like a knocks off all for thirty one
twenty eight and Mac down there on the field with
more Bulldog specials.

Speaker 5 (02:34:11):
Let's go.

Speaker 7 (02:34:12):
We're going here with tray Stough Trey. Talk about the
big pick that you made right there in the third quarter.
I mean it almost turned around even though they fought back.

Speaker 5 (02:34:20):
Just explain, I know, you.

Speaker 10 (02:34:22):
Know, just coming back to Opelika. You've always been a dog.

Speaker 5 (02:34:25):
Tell the whole Dog nation.

Speaker 7 (02:34:26):
What does it mean to go to Birmingham to be
playing for the seven A state titles?

Speaker 10 (02:34:31):
First of all, I just want to give all glood
to God, my little savior.

Speaker 5 (02:34:34):
But uh, you know it's a dream contus.

Speaker 10 (02:34:36):
You know, it's every football player's dream.

Speaker 5 (02:34:38):
You know, it's this amazing opportunity.

Speaker 7 (02:34:40):
Well, I know you had a lot of help from
your dad growing up. I know he was a pretty
sporting football player and he couldn't be so proud of you,
your parents and everything like that.

Speaker 10 (02:34:48):
Just would mean to bring home a title.

Speaker 7 (02:34:50):
For the Dogs in the city of Opelika, it'd be
it'd be make we make history.

Speaker 5 (02:34:54):
It'd be great.

Speaker 7 (02:34:55):
All right, man, Well, look, go celebrate all night with
your team, your dad, Look at your dad, your bears.

Speaker 10 (02:35:00):
Hey, go go crazy baby.

Speaker 2 (02:35:02):
All right, Hey, Mac, I tell you what that Tray
Stone right there has been a ballplayer all season long
for Opelika. He's done an exceptional job. And we got
Jason Lee over there, and all right, we got coach Moore.
All right, let's go on there's a hug for Mac.
Hey listen, Hey, listen, Mac tell him, but I'm gonna
talk to him in a minute, But tell him he
looks a lot more relaxed he did Wenesday night, a.

Speaker 10 (02:35:24):
Lot more relaxed than he did Wednesday night.

Speaker 5 (02:35:26):
Babe.

Speaker 7 (02:35:27):
All right, before we go up, let me just let
me just talk to you a minute here. Coach Moore,
he came to us last year and the first thing
you said was our goal is to win the state championship,
not regions anything like that.

Speaker 5 (02:35:42):
You stepped to it.

Speaker 10 (02:35:43):
You took a gigantic step last year.

Speaker 5 (02:35:45):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (02:35:46):
I remember Brody Jones saying, hey, we're gonna leave a
legacy for the next group. This group comes along, Coach,
that could have laid down after that enterprise game. Golly,
there's so much fight and the city is so proud
of you guys, and.

Speaker 10 (02:35:59):
You're coaching having these boys. Just tell what the evening
to end the streak.

Speaker 7 (02:36:03):
Against your arn't rivals and restoring the order, Coach, just
walk us through your through what you're feeling.

Speaker 5 (02:36:09):
Man, It's surreal.

Speaker 4 (02:36:10):
I mean, you know, I just I you know, I
look at all these people that came and watched this these.

Speaker 5 (02:36:14):
Kids that are so happy, you know, this wins for them.

Speaker 4 (02:36:17):
You know, it's it's been a you know, a grind,
you know, twenty two to twenty three months. So just challenges, man,
of trying to be better and trying to you know,
you know, instill discipline and doing things the right way
and wearing the same color socks and all that kind
of stuff, because it matters, man, at the end of
these ball games, that matters, and our kids had bought
into that, and I just I'm so proud.

Speaker 5 (02:36:38):
I'm so proud for.

Speaker 4 (02:36:39):
Coach mc kraken, Coach Blackman, you know, my mentors, just
to be back, you know, in this moment. But but
we got to go finish, you know, and we'll have
a monumental task. We know that we'll have to play better.
You know, we kind of gave them some life at
the end of that game. But I just am so
proud of our kids. I'm so proud of their buy in,
you know, all of our coaches for working so hard. Man,
I can't even playing it like what those guys do

(02:37:01):
and are willing to sacrifice, you know for these kids.
I just it's so incredibly proud and I'm just so
thankful and blessed to be here.

Speaker 7 (02:37:08):
Coach, you talked about all week and pretty much to
this playoff stretch, you know, dealing with the Carver.

Speaker 10 (02:37:14):
We treated that as round one.

Speaker 7 (02:37:16):
But just tell the dog nation, because I know you
said it many times that the coaches shows and everything,
explain to them.

Speaker 10 (02:37:22):
What the bubble is.

Speaker 7 (02:37:23):
Keeping it in the bubble and hope like a bubble
about us. Don't worry about the outside. Just tell us
a little bit about that. It's all darkness.

Speaker 4 (02:37:29):
I mean, you know, for us, what we did in
the dark made the difference tonight. I mean, just because
we decided to play hard and you know, be in
this moment and be present.

Speaker 5 (02:37:37):
That's not enough.

Speaker 4 (02:37:38):
It's what you did in January, you know. That's what
it's about. It's about us, man. I don't care if
we've been underdogs in all three games. I don't care
that we'll be the underdog in the state championship game.
This is about who we believe we are right and
who we know we are, our convictions, our authenticity, you know,
and just believing in each other right. That's what life's about, man.

(02:37:59):
That's family, friends, that's that's work. That's what you that's
what you've become, right, and that's why football is so special.

Speaker 5 (02:38:05):
So I'm just so.

Speaker 4 (02:38:06):
Proud of proud of our kids and proud of their
belief and what we're selling and they're buying.

Speaker 7 (02:38:10):
I'm gonna leave you well with one more thing for
it gets you up to Vayon and Dad ninety five.

Speaker 10 (02:38:16):
The old man brought me up here to opel Aika. Yeah,
this is what he dreamed about.

Speaker 5 (02:38:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:38:20):
He came in twenty twelve, twenty sixteen. You know, he
was coaching another school. You know, he had already retired,
got brought on the broadcast he felt, you know, of
course he's coaching up there in that press box the
whole time.

Speaker 10 (02:38:31):
This is such a blessing that.

Speaker 7 (02:38:32):
You've given us in this whole city and we want
to thank you for that, and we wish nothing but
the best up in Birmingham.

Speaker 10 (02:38:38):
I'm gonna seeing you jmup top.

Speaker 5 (02:38:39):
I appreciate you, Matt, love you man.

Speaker 3 (02:38:41):
Go go with it. It'll work, it'll work.

Speaker 2 (02:38:44):
Oh yeah, all right, coach, you got me.

Speaker 5 (02:38:47):
Yeah, I'm a coach.

Speaker 2 (02:38:48):
Congratulations see Jay John So, my goodness, what a ballplayer
that it is.

Speaker 5 (02:38:53):
He's a winner in every way. He's solid. This way
he lives, that's the way his family lives. Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:38:59):
And that's what happens, man. And when you're when you're
you know, that kind of player, when you when you're
that kind of human being, good things happened to you
if you keep chopping wood. And that's what he did, uh,
and made an incredible difference tonight. And and you know,
really was obviously the player of the game along with others,
but extremely proud of them.

Speaker 2 (02:39:15):
You were going against the coach tonight that's won five
state championships, played in two more. The guy's been there
and done that. We were kind of talking earlier the week.
You could tell coach was a little loose. You know,
it's like it's another game for him. He's been in
these big games you haven't talk about just for you, coach.
And I know it's not about you, but I'm gonna
make it about you for a minute. You as a
coach picking up a big win like this tonight, it's.

Speaker 5 (02:39:34):
A blessing for sure.

Speaker 4 (02:39:36):
I mean it's you know, I hugged my wife and
I said, this is what we worked for, you know,
for twenty plus years. This is what we worked for
and for eleven years as a head coach to find
a way to play, you know, in November and December. Now,
you know that's it's a blessing. But ultimately we're here
to serve others. Man, I mean that we're here, you know,
for our crowd. We're here for the oplac A Bulldogs,
the Oplack community. We're here for these kids. You know,

(02:39:57):
I keep telling everybody it's about experiences. In what an
experience is happening right now, you know in this stadium,
something these kids will never forget. I remember twenty twelve
like it was yesterday, standing up there right by where
you are, Van, and you know, calling that big post
to Marquise, and you know, winning that game, and you know,
just the pandemonium you know after the game, and you know,
Coach Blackman text me earlier today and it meant a lot,

(02:40:21):
you know, just about to play call and he said,
when you get yourself in fourth and eleven, remember what
you called or what we called all those years ago.

Speaker 5 (02:40:27):
So you know, I just I'm so proud. And that's
what we came here to do.

Speaker 4 (02:40:31):
Van, Just like Mack was talking about, we didn't come here,
you know, to just play in the playoffs or any
of that kind of stuff. We came here to go
to the game, and we came here to win the game,
and that's what we'll prepare our tails off to do.

Speaker 2 (02:40:41):
What do you think has been the key for this
team to play so good here in the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (02:40:45):
Just believe, you know, getting healthy, playing together. Obviously we're
a little nicked up after tonight. Well hopefully we'll get
good news on everybody and have twelve days to prepare,
but it's gonna have to be back to the grind.
We are absolutely gonna celebrate and enjoy through at least
tomorrow and into Sunday, and then you know, we'll have
a plan for how we want to operate through. So
but just extremely proud of our kids and proud of it,

(02:41:06):
the love they have for each other, the buy in
the bubble, you know, as Max said, and just trusting
you know, the coaches, and trusting that you know that
you know we.

Speaker 5 (02:41:15):
Can do this and we can you know, have confidence.

Speaker 4 (02:41:17):
I mean, you think about Van being at Carver, you know,
or Carver at us and you know being down what
fourteen seven, and you know it didn't look good.

Speaker 2 (02:41:24):
And your quarterback was down that game too, and I
picked them up again.

Speaker 4 (02:41:27):
Yeah, absolutely, and Braden does that and it just changed
and then we found a little confidence and found a
little momentum. And that's what it looks like, you know
when when you do.

Speaker 3 (02:41:35):
So.

Speaker 5 (02:41:35):
I'm just extremely proud of our kids.

Speaker 2 (02:41:37):
All right, Coach, I like playing in the darkness. Here's
Coach McCracken.

Speaker 5 (02:41:40):
Ryan, you did. Thank you for listening talking to me
after the luncheons on Thirsty.

Speaker 6 (02:41:48):
Yes, sir, I just there's a little few things that
I had to tell you, and I'm so proud of you, man.
And uh again, don't forget now we're gonna play on
d December the third. So you are on restriction from
any kind of contest or anything.

Speaker 5 (02:42:07):
Don't worry.

Speaker 4 (02:42:08):
There aren't anymore, no left, no, but I don't want
anything happening to you.

Speaker 5 (02:42:13):
So so but I love you and you've come so
far with this program and I appreciate it. You just
you just know how much we love you and care
for you. And we got one more now, yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:42:26):
One more.

Speaker 5 (02:42:27):
I was in four of them and we won four
of them, so you can hey, you can do it.

Speaker 3 (02:42:32):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (02:42:33):
I'll take all the wisdom you got, coach and.

Speaker 2 (02:42:35):
Well, coach more, don't go scouting anybody yet. Central's got
the ball down thirty five to twenty eight a minute
forty seven at midfield on their home field. Maybe maybe overtime,
coach who knows that?

Speaker 5 (02:42:44):
Yeah, yeah, play forever, you.

Speaker 4 (02:42:45):
Know, get tired, that's right, but no, a great night,
just proud and thankful. Thank for you, for you guys,
Van and Coach and Mac and Jason and everybody.

Speaker 9 (02:42:53):
What you do?

Speaker 4 (02:42:54):
You know, I watched from Afar a few years ago
and watched you guys. You know, I watched the broadcast
and the professionals them in job you do. I mean
that that's not everywhere. And appreciate you guys. I love
you and thankful for all you do for our program
and how you spread you know, the good news about
our kids.

Speaker 2 (02:43:09):
