We ALL fall down, together we rise. Whether you’re going through dark days, or have dealt with them in the past, or perhaps maybe they have impacted someone you love, we have all been impacted by mental health struggles in some way, shape or form. No matter what it is that you are going through, life can and will get better for you. We have all felt that same feeling of being alone in this world, when the lights are all out, and nobody else is awake and all we have is the voice in our head. The feeling that even with our friends, family, coworkers, teammates, bosses, coaches, and peers around us, that we are alone in this fight, and in this world. THAT SPECIFIC FEELING IS WHAT CONNECTS US ALL. We are together alone. Not only will it get “better” but I truly believe you can find the greatness that resides within you, and that you’ll spread it to others as well. I find it interesting to speak with business owners, hard workers, and inspiring people about the challenges they have faced and how they‘ve overcome them. Based out of Vancouver, I find it important to speak about some of the difficult things in life, and to encourage others to feel happier and spread the love!
Why do some people use trauma as fuel—and others use it as an excuse?
In this powerful self-development episode, we explore how your perspective shapes your entire life. I break down real examples of two people with the same traumatic past who ended up with completely different futures—and why the difference came down to mindset.

In this episode of The Risen Fallen Podcast, I explore how dangerous it can be to build your identity around things that can change—or be taken away.
1Whether it’s your job, your race, your religion, your politics, or even your spiritual beliefs… none of that fully defines who you really are.
So if you're not your job, your skin color, your trauma, your past,...

Ever feel completely stuck—like a problem is just too big, too stressful, or too frustrating to crack?
In this episode, I talk about the power of walking away, resetting your mind, and coming back stronger. Whether it's a brutal level in Donkey Kong Country 2 that stumped me as a kid, or hitting tight deadlines in the chaos of construction—sometimes the solution isn’t pushing harder... it’s stepping back...
In today’s solo episode, I dive into how the quality of your thoughts and the way you speak — about people, situations, and even yourself — directly affect your energy, emotions, and outlook on life.
We talk about envy, gossip, judgment, and negative thinking… and how all of it creates a low-vibration mindset that bleeds into your mood and how you show up in the world.
But h...
Let’s be real—the news doesn’t make your life better. Most of it is fake, exaggerated, or completely outside your control. And even the “real” stuff? It rarely impacts your day-to-day reality in any meaningful way.
In this solo episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I break down why constantly consuming the news is destroying your mental health, killing your focus, and distracting you from what actually matters. I’ll show you why unp...
You won't always love the WHAT—but if you are clear about your WHY throw your whole heart into the HOW, people notice.
In this episode, I talk about the quiet power of enthusiasm and how putting your energy into even the mundane can draw others in.
Then I share a story that reminded me there are still good people out there: the trailer popped off my hitch, an...
In this solo episode of Risen Fallen, I’m diving into the loud voice most of us try to ignore — the inner critic. You know the one. It shows up when you're tired, overwhelmed, or just unsure. And in the middle of summer? It can hit even harder.
Some people feel energized by the sun, while others feel stuck in a summertime slump. I talk about both sides — and why your mindset, more than th...
In this solo episode of The Risen Fallen Podcast, I, Mark Henriksen, delve into the challenges of pursuing growth in environments that might not feel welcoming. Whether it's a jiu-jitsu gym where the vibe feels off or a trade school filled with folks you don't click with, sometimes you're in a place where you can't just pick up and leave.
We'll explore the concept of scarcity versus abund...
We always hear that comparison is the thief of joy—but I think it’s actually distraction that’s silently stealing our happiness.
In this episode, I break down how constantly reaching for our phones, filling every quiet moment with noise, and avoiding stillness is keeping us disconnected from real peace and joy. I’ve caught myself doing it too—scrolling instead of sitting with my thoughts, numbing out instead of tuning in.
I talk ab...

In this episode, I break down a hard truth: burnout isn’t always the result of working too hard — most of the time, it’s because you’re neglecting the basics.
Lack of sleep, poor nutrition, no movement, and constantly chasing "quick fixes" instead of facing the real issue — all of these are what quietly wear you down.
I also dive into the dangerous mindset of always looking for the "cheapest option" or the easiest way to feel bette...
I have been working on a house this week where the deck leaked and rotted out part of the wall.
As I was cutting out all the damaged wood, it hit me how much this is exactly like working on your own life and mental health.
You can’t always see the damage right away. You have to open it up, face it, and deal with it properly — or it just keeps getting worse.
In this episode, I talk about why you can't leave any rot behind if you wan...

Why do we treat workouts, journaling, reading, and eating healthy like optional chores — but stress out over paying bills or going to work? In today’s episode, I’m breaking down why the things that move our lives forward usually feel boring, hard, or unimportant in the moment...and how we can trick ourselves into doing them consistently.
You’ll hear about the invisible “debt” we rack up w...
It's that time of year again... Election season, tax season, and the perfect storm of propaganda, division, and stress.
In today's episode, I'm breaking down how to stay healthy, sane, and focused when the world feels like it's falling apart. We get told who to hate, who to blame, and the media tries to keep us angry, anxious, and distracted — but you don't have to fall for it.

Let’s be real—some days just suck. You wake up late, your energy’s off, things don’t click the way they normally do... and it feels like nothing’s going your way. But here’s the truth: not every day is meant to be a good one. And that doesn’t mean you’re off track or falling behind.
In this episode, I’m talking about how to navigate those off days without spiralling, why it's okay to not be firing on all...
How often do we put off what we know needs to be done because we just don’t feel like it? We wait for motivation to strike before taking action, but here’s the truth—motivation follows action, not the other way around. If you want to feel energized, motivated, and ready to tackle your goals, you have to act first. In this episode, I’m breaking down the idea that our feelings follow our behaviors, not vice versa, and w...
