But Kim, glad to see you. The last half of our July
first podcast and the entire July eighthpodcast were bits of roller coasters without you,
so thanks for thanks for rejoining us. It didn't sound like a roller

(00:45):
coaster. It sounded like smooth sailing. It sounded like that flat train ride
at Disneyland, not a roller coaster. It sounded great. Well, I
appreciate it. You to your twokinds as always, That's why I always
ask you to come on with me. Robbie Russo. Coming up is numbers
available, number five. Well, recap development camp. We will recap free

to look at your phone when you'redriving, but I did and we signed

(01:49):
Robbie. That was the text. That's awesome. Welcome back, Robby,
very very excited to have you back. Thank you appreciate it. Did you
guys did you meet Did you everhave an interaction with Robbie Kim? Obviously
Robbie interacts with thousands and thousands ofpeople, but Kim was a season ticket
holder at the time when Robbie playedfor US. Yeah, no and nothing.

(02:12):
This is his first time. WhenRobbie grabbed the microphone at our Christmas
party in twenty eighteen, he didnot did not track you down, did
not find you. No, Idon't. I'm trying to remember. If
I can't, I know that youknow exactly where you were on December like
twenty third, nineteen eighty two.But I don't have that memory. I
don't think that I went to I'mtrying to remember if I even went to
the season season ticket member party onthat year. What did Robbie do on

(02:36):
the microphone? I have to knowI got an exclusive interview with Animal and
if you miss that, I rememberthat, right, I do? Yes?
Yes, I think I had somehelp from a few teammates too.
Yeah, Michael Bunting was always involved. Wait with Animal. Yeah you know
Animal, Animal from them up atshow no our season ticket older. I

(03:01):
don't think I know Animal. Gotto meet him, he listens to the
podcast. I'm sure he'll send usan email and we'll get you guys connected.
You got to meet Animal. He'sthe best. So the guys interviewed
a season ticket member at the Christmasparty. Yeah, Robbie was just roving
around with the mic and a coupleof them. Yeah, how have we

(03:22):
not done that every year since then? Because that sounds amazing? It was
fun. Yeah, but he isgood. I guess didn't have any volunteers.
You don't get any bonus. That'sa salary cap violation. Awesome if
somebody has that, And who's listening. Has that on video? I find

(03:43):
me on Facebook. I need tosee this. Yeah, I find it.
We got it. I remember likethis yesterday. Let's start Robbie off
with our rapid Fire. Robbie, how this goes? My questions and Kim's
questions on the podcast are so opposite. I just asked my questions, she
asked her questions. We don't tryand mix and match anything. It just
what't makes sense. So I'm gonnaask my rapid Fire questions and then she'll

(04:09):
ask yours and or ask hers toyou, and well we'll take it from
there. Break the ice with somesome wrapped Fire. It's been four and
a half years since we had Robbieon our team. March. I'm ready.
March thirteenth, twenty twenty, Kim. That's the last time he was
in a Roadrunner sweater man. Theworld has changed. Were you that time?

(04:30):
Were you at the game that night? Kim? March thirteenth, Wednesday
night? Yeah? See, howdo you know that that's a Wednesday?
If the world fell apart six hourslater? Yeah, I think I was
at that game. Actually, yeah. Kind of eerie, kind of eerie.
All right, let's get to WrappedFire. Robbie, one sentence,
one word, whatever comes to yourmind on these uh on these items that

(04:54):
we're gonna ask you. Here wego Roadrunners Rapid Fires, starting with Robby
Russo on the podcast Robbie, Herewe Go, returning to the Roadrunners Excited
our twenty nineteen, twenty twenty teamthat you last played on. That was
a great team. The TCC wildfavorite spots return to in Tucson. My
favorite restaurant was Los Livos Kim,do you do you know that one?
No? I don't whar is that, Robbie. It's on Congress, away

(05:17):
from downtown, real close to therink. It's a little pizza place.
I'm trying to remember. There's beena luck that's changed. Okay, Yeah,
I'm so curious to see what yournew favorite restaurant is going to be.
Boy, because so much, Ohboy, Robbie. Your personality for
fans that have never met you, quiet, Your style of play for fans
that have never seen you play,We'll go offensive. Steve Potman creative,

(05:41):
John Slaney intense, Notre dame, elite, Chicago, Chicago's the best pizza.
Gotta go with thin crust. Summertoo short, TikTok or insta Instagram
hockey walk in? Is it suitand tie or casual suit and tie?
Your coffee order? I don't drinkcoffee. Oh my gosh, what's what's
your Starbucks order? Yeah? Nothing, that's amazing. I don't drink coffee

(06:06):
either, but I drink tea,so I have a go to order.
Do you drink caffeine? Ah?Yeah, I do, just never have
drink coffee. So is that mything? No? Same here? I
can't stand it. Okay, interesting? Do you use smelling salts? Yes?
Or no? Yeah? Okay?Defenseman who score hat tricks? I'll

(06:27):
take one. The zamboni necessary androad trips, let's keep them under ten
games. We can do that.Okay, we'll compromise. We'll do two
seven gamers, Yeah, seven gamerswith a six game homestand in between.
Does that work? I'll take it. Yeah, because we've got got a
Jump Show road trip and before that, a pre Jump Show road trip and

(06:50):
six games at home. I didsee both of those. I remember when
I was there. We were gonefor like all February one time. Yeah,
I'm gonna do this again. Kimtwenty nineteen Jempsure road trip Rockford,
San Jose, Texas, San Diego. That might have been it, but
it was really really spread out.Yeah, that was pretty crazy. I

(07:13):
don't even know what I was doingin twenty nineteen, like at all.
I got my MBA, I gotmy NBA twenty nineteen. Congratulations. That's
yeah, that's that's like, youknow, like big life moments. I
can remember like that, But Idon't know. Adrian, your brain is
just we need to we need toget you in an MRI machine. I
have so many questions. It's becauseKim the what's this new generation called Generation

(07:36):
Z. Yes, that's what thesepeople are. Yeah, so these Generations
Z people are big on work lifebalance. That's their buzzword. I don't
have everyone, Bundy. Everybody's bigon work like Vale not a habit.
I just do hockey. Yeah that'strue. You are you are a millennial.

(07:57):
You're a boomer trapped in a millennial'sbody, for sure. No.
No, I'm the first millennial, though, I think the first millennial.
I used to I used to ripone of my friends for being a millennial,
and one day he just snaps,he loses it. He says,

(08:18):
bro, you're the first millennial. There was all of this. It's all
your fault. It's all your fault. That's good. Wow, it's a
lot to take on. Yeah,it was. It was Robbie. How
how did you get back back withthe road Runners? It was, as
we said, great news to seefan favorite thought we're gonna win a championship

(08:39):
that year and things things changed inthe world. But good to have you
back for for round two. Yeah, no, thank you. I agree
with you. That year that COVIDshut everything down, we had a really
good team. We had all ourguys down, a lot of good players,
so that was a little disappointing, but not much you can do about
it. And then this year, entering free agency, the Roadrunners called so

(09:03):
and I was excited to hop backaboard Kim. We had Jake on last
week, our director Hockey Operations, and Jake worked for the agency that's represented
Robbie, but he's never met him, so he's excited to excited to make
that connection. Had you ever heardthe name Jake Wagman before when you were

(09:24):
working around hockey, No, butI talked to him recently and he was
the agency I work with KO Sports, so he did a lot of the
behind the scenes work. So I'mexcited to meet him as well as he's
a great guy. You're gonna you'regonna love him. Smart guy. Everything
is gonna go just uh, justas smooth as you could possibly ever imagine.

(09:50):
What's new in the last four anda half years. Have you acquired
a taste for anything, applied anyany new resources to to hockey? What?
What have we meant? Let methink, Yeah, I've just the
last four years I've been in Utica, New York for most of the time,
playing there in the New Jersey Devil'sminor league system, so a little

(10:11):
different than Tucson. And then atthe end of this month, I am
getting married. So that's all.Anything that's new in my life is that.
Well, that's dude, Let's let'sget into that. What's what the
wedding plan, who's the who's thelucky who's the lucky lady? And uh
and what's what's after that? Oh? Yeah, I'm very lucky. I

(10:33):
like that you said that we're gettingmarried in Chicago on the twenty seventh,
and her name is Ellen, andshe's planned. I would say ninety five
percent of it. I've helped outwhere I can. How long you been
with Ellen, And where'd you meet? Actually the year that COVID end of
this season, we met that summer. We met in Florida, but we're

(10:56):
both from Chicago. You've met inFlorida, but you're both How did you
guys meet? Well, Chicago wasclosed down, so we were both in
Florida for vacation during that time period, and you just stumbled upon each other
like randomly, Yeah we did.Yes, I met at a bar and
now we're here. That's fantastic, that's amazing, Like, so so excited

(11:20):
for you guys. Okay, Sothen is Tucson the honeymoon or where are
you guys going to religion? We'regoing on a honeymoon for a week after
the wedding. We're going to SaintLucia, which neither of us have ever
been to. So we're excited. Is that down in the the Caribbean?
Yeah, okay, fantastic. Soyou're gonna go get some sun? Yeah,

(11:43):
exactly, Tan when you get here, that's that's amazing, Robbie,
such a big congratulations. And thenshe's coming with you here, Like what
does she do? He'll be there. She's a tax account at Deloitte,
so she can work pretty remote andshe'll travel for work. But she's excited
to see Tucson. Is she reallyWhat have you told her? Have you

(12:05):
warned her about the heat? Well, she's been in Florida, so she's
got a little bit of an idea. Yeah. No, I haven't given
her too much info. I'm gonnalet her decide when she gets there.
We have a lot of people fromChicago in Tucson, Kim. I think
it started like with spring training andstuff, like the White Sox were in
Tucson for a while. The Cubshave been in Mesa forever, and I

(12:30):
think that's been a big part ofthe way that Arizona's grown is folks from
the Midwest following their baseball teams andrealizing, man, this would be a
nice place to be in the winter. Well, and also, I don't
know if you know this, buta lot of the guys who play on
the U of eighteen are a lotfor you know, years and years and
years going back, have been fromthe Midwest. They recruited very heavily from

(12:52):
the Midwest when the team stood upfor the first time. So I think
a lot of it is that too. Yeah, I think it'll be a
good fit. Robbie. Did youdid you meet any Chicagoans in Tucson at
all or anybody from from your yourarea? I'm trying to think. I
don't. I don't think I did. I do remember when we played the
Wolves, the crowd was a littlebigger, if I remember correctly. So

(13:16):
there are a lot of transplants orsnowbirds down there from what I know.
Yeah, would we play when weplay Chicago? Like just the word Chicago
draws people in and then the rockFord affiliation. We we always see a
see a bump when when the BlackhawksHL team comes comes into town. Yeah,
that is I do remember that nowthat you say that. Were you

(13:39):
Were you a Hawks fan growing up, Robbie. I was as a kid.
Yeah. They they weren't on TVhere growing up, but I was
a fan. Yeah. Did youhave a favorite player? When I was
real little nobody on the Hawks. But then as I got older and they
got really good, I would sayPatrick Sharp, Oh okay, gotcha,

(14:01):
gotcha? And then I was readingOkay, So you went to Notre Dame
for college sociology major? Is thatright? Yes? Yes? Did you
graduate? I did? Yeah?Congratulations, that's it. Didn't it didn't
say anywhere in near bio that youhad actually graduated. That's amazing, thank
you. We got to get that. Yeah, yeah, of course,

(14:22):
yeah did. Don't worry, Robbie. I've got it, man, I've
got it at talking points from nowon. Yeah, it needs to be
there, like that's such a bigdeal. And then I also read that
when you were Chicago Mission Midget program, you and TJ Tynan were we're teammates.
Were you friends? And are youstill friends? Like it's this community

(14:45):
is so it seems vast, butthen when you start talking to guys,
it seems like you all really knoweach other. Yeah. I know,
right from the outside looking in,it probably does seem pretty big, but
then it's definitely a very small world, hockey world. But yeah, me
and and grew up together. Westill train and skate together pretty much every
day in the summer. So andhe just signed with Colorado. So friends

(15:09):
and it'll be off, but he'sgoing back to Colorado. Wasn't he with
Colorado? Was he with Colorado?Yeah? Yeah, just everybody returning,
everybody returning to their pre uh preCOVID lives and teams. Oh yeah,
for sure. I'm trying to thinkof one of Adrian. You had a

(15:31):
really good question that I wanted toask based on what Robbie just was talking
about with tj oh anybody on ourcurrent team who you have past associations with
or you know, I know Connaughtona little bit because he was a Coilodes
organization when I was. I playedagainst Agazino a good amount. I never

(15:54):
really met him or anything. Ifeel like I've played against more guys than
ily or know or got to knowthat are on the team right now.
But Slains and Patzi were in Tousonwhen I was so looking forward to working
with them again. Yeah, it'llfeel just like like you've never left with
with those two. It's it's youknow, you walk in and you get

(16:17):
a feel with like the culture andthe way players develop, and it definitely
starts with with those guys. They'vebeen here since since day one. Yeah,
it's pretty crazy. Yeah. Whatabout what about them makes you excited
to come play for those two againthat that you enjoyed during during the course
of your two seasons. I wouldsay for both of them, you know,

(16:41):
they both work really hard getting youprepared for games and in practices.
They run a good practice, andthen they communicate really well, whether you're
trying to get better at something orlooking at a different team. So I
really enjoyed work with them, andthen you know they're both great guys,
so that always helps. What whatis your hockey nick name? Uh?

(17:03):
Okay, so then explain to mehow Okay. So I was in the
military, and so there's call scienceAnd I don't know if you guys know
this, but the way that you'regiving a call sign when you're in flight
school, it's not always something thatyou want to be called, but somebody
gives it to you and it sticksand then it's just your name forever.
So does that How does it workin hockey? Like? Do you walk

(17:26):
into the locker room first day likeeverybody calls me rus like? Or do
you let them come up with aname for you? How does that work?
Yeah? It probably starts when you'rea lot younger. People start calling
you that and it follows you around, but it's usually something off their last
name. Sounds like a little lesscreative than the military stuff. Yeah,

(17:49):
yes, creative and usually offensive ishow the military names go. So yeah,
a lot less like Ophelia. Youguys need to have your nicknames sewn
into your jersey somewhere like on theinside or something like. I feel like
that would be really fun because usuallyin the military, their call the call
signs are everywhere, so right,so you don't try and walk up to

(18:10):
somebody be chummy and uh, heyrooser, what's up? Exactly? Yeah?
Wait? And then so I wasreading too, So you're your given name
is Robbie. It's not Robert,Is that right? No, it is
Robert, but my dad, soI've just always been Robbie. Gotcha?

(18:30):
Gotcha? Okay? Because yeah, one of the bios that I read said
like, you're actually that your givenname was Robbie, and I was like,
that's so that's so interesting, that'sso unique. I have to double
check everything on Wikipedia, Kim,it's not always one hundred percent verified.
It wasn't Wikipedia, it was theFighting Irish website, kidding, and they
missed the graduation. I didn't meanto call them out like that, but

(18:55):
I'll have to talk to somebody overthere put some updates on there. So
Robbie, give us some background intowhat kind of music you like, Like,
what's your mood in the locker roombefore the game? Are you playing
that little kicky soccer game that alwaysthe ball ends up getting lost in everything
up top, Like, is thatwhat's your what's your vibe? Yeah?

(19:18):
That's too touch. I mean Inever get the ball up up top.
That's other guys. But yeah, that's a lot of fun. Try to
play that before every game for nottoo long or anything. And then music
wise, I'm pretty open. Ilike country music, maybe whatever the latest
songs are going. I usually letsomebody else in the locker room be the
DJ. Oh really, yeah, that's a big ability, So it's huge,

(19:44):
Adrian, do you know who's incharge of the ox cord right now
in the locker I think I thinkit's Curtis? Was it Ben McCartney?
It's Ben and it's country music.I can't remember if it's I thought it
was Curtis for some reason, don'tYeah, you might be. I might
be wrong to double check that.Yeah, now you know who's in charge
of the music. Robbie will sendyou their cell. Okay, So if

(20:08):
you had a goal scoring song,do you know what that would be for
you? Let me think I wouldprobably pick maybe whatever the latest uh you
know, hot country song would be. You know, oh, Okay,
okay, the latest hot country song. Well, even if it's like it,
I feel like you could go acouple of different ways in the country

(20:30):
genre, Like it could be depressingor we would it be the would it
be that post Malone Morgan Wallen one, that's that's out right now? We
would Yeah, we would go withthat. It's what is that one?
It's it's something about a gosh makinga mess, the mess I'm in something

(20:51):
like that, right, And it'sa little upbeat, so it'd be a
pretty good goal song. I thinkthat. Okay, I think I think
it'd be good. All right,I'm writing it down because I got to
google it. I'll google it,but yeah, go on, kim So
Rubbie. For people who don't knowyou, tell us a little bit about

(21:11):
how you came up. I mentionedNotre Dame and I mentioned the midget program
in Chicago. But like for peoplewho don't know you, who aren't going
to go to hockey TV or youknow, elite prospects, Yeah, explain
where you're coming from. Yeah,I grew up in Chicago, So I
grew up playing for the Chicago Missionuntil my last two years of high school.

(21:33):
I moved to ann Arbora to playat the u US program. I
played junior. There was a great, great place to play. I had
a great time there, and thenI went to Notre Dame after that for
four years, which was awesome. You make it sound so distinct, Okay,
and then what about after Notre Dame, because you've been all over the
place. Yeah. So my firstthree years pro were in Grand Rapids,

(21:56):
Michigan, which that was a reallygood start to my career. I did
pretty well and as a team wewere really successful. We won the calder
Cut my second year. Oh wow. Yeah, so that was very exciting,
great experience to have. After that, I showed up in Twosion with
Adrian. I think we're both yourfirst year was my first year, right,

(22:18):
Adrian? Yep, yep, nineteenYeah. Arrived within weeks of each
other. Robbie went to the Westside. He went to Star Pass.
I did the mayors star Pass.Still they haven't they haven't replaced him and
I am. I'm on the eastside in Sabino Canyon. So arrived within
weeks of each other. Went inopposite directions. Yeah, seriously, opposite

(22:41):
ends of the earth for both ofyou. Robie, how was it out
in Star Pass. I actually grewup on the west side, so kind
of out in the middle of thedesert that way. But so were you
closer to the hotel? Sorry? What was the last part? Was that
closer to what? Were you closerto the hotel the resort? I wasn't
too far from there yet, right, but there was right by like Pima

(23:03):
Community College. Yeah, so rightthere, not too far from the rink.
The place I live was nice.I liked it a lot. Yeah,
big fan of the West Side. And then are I'm assuming you're a
golfer? So it was no,No, I'm not really a golfer,
but there's definitely a ton of golf. Yeah. Wait okay, So then
what's your activity on the weekends downdays? Are you a hiker? I

(23:27):
can be. Yeah, that's notbad, nothing, you know, too
crazy, but yeah, yeah, okay, So are you what are you
doing on your down days? Isit call of duty? Reading? Are
you reading like Cameron he big readingfinance books? And no, no,
no finance books. I guess onan off day, I like, you
know, to get outside, gofor a walk, you know, pretty

(23:49):
relaxed. Oh okay, that's superchill. Okay, so we have to.
I have to go back for asecond because the schedule this season,
Adrian I was really hoping Greater wasgoing to be on our schedule this season
because we haven't seen them in awhile. And I'm a huge Red Wings
fan. So when I read that, Robbie, I was like, Oh
my gosh, see you you ina Red Wings uniform. Big big fan.

(24:11):
So yeah, that was awesome. What was it like your call up?
You played nineteen games right for theRed Wings? How was that it
was? I mean really cool asa dream come true? The team I
was on that was the last yearof the Joe Louis Arena. Oh yeah,
that was a pretty big deal. There are a lot of guys who

(24:32):
were retired there, all in therafters now. They came back to a
lot of those last couple of games, so something I'll never forget. Yeah,
that's amazing, and I've heard LittleCaesars is awesome. But the the
legacy, the history of the Joeis absolutely amazing. Like the fact that

(24:53):
you played there, like that's somethingyou can carry with yourself forever. Yeah,
no, that's pretty spot on.The Joe definitely, Like the legacy's
pretty unmatched and all the success theyhad in there, I think it's probably
time to move. And then whatthey built for that little Caesars arena was
state of the art, so theydid a great job. Yeah, yeah,
Adrian, how much more time? How how long can I keep Robbie?

(25:15):
Like, what are we thinking? Can we keep you for five more
minutes? Robbie? Yeah? Yougot as much as you need? Okay,
Robbie, I have a bizarre questionfor you. In an emergency situation,
fifty percent of men think that theycould land a commercial aircraft. What
side of the fifty percent are youon? Do you think that you could?

(25:37):
Do? You? Do you thinkthat you could land a commercial aircraft?
I've seen this on the internet before. I think I don't think I
could. But if they called uponme to try out, you know I
would try. I'll give my besteffort. I appreciate that. Okay,
I think I'm I think I'm thesame way I think. Yeah, okay,

(26:00):
good to know. Okay. Sothen another weird question. If you've
got a penalty a two minute minor, doesn't matter what it is. If
they gave you the option to gosit in the box for three minutes,
even though it's a two minute penaltysit in the box for three minutes or
stay out on the ice blindfolded fortwo minutes. Which would you choose.

(26:22):
I'm going to go in the boxfor three minutes. For me, i'd
be lost out there, Okay.So yeah, just just kind of curious
how your brain works. And Ithink that that's some really good insight,
Adrian. I've never asked you thatquestion. What would you pick for the
penalty box the plane? Which oneare we doing here? Let's do both?
Because I'm super curious. I mighthave a couple questions when I got

(26:47):
into the flight deck area, Imight have a couple questions on what does
what? And then I'd be good. You think so? So you and
so do you guys think that youcould explain to me what yeah is what
pitch or y'all is? Okay, this is aviation. Nope, m h.

(27:10):
I'm just curious if you had understandthe basic fundamentals of aerodynamics. So
it's up and down, Kim,you need to know what what what pushes
the thing down up and down sideto side. There's this you got the
you got the steering wheel. Wecan handle that. Yeahhh, there's a
little bit more to it than that. Okay, So you think you think

(27:30):
that you could do it for sure? Okay? And then ten seconds of
question and answer time on the onthe control board. Good, got it?
Got it? Okay? And thenyeah, and then what are you
picking? Penalty bucks? Your icepenalty box. We've got a good penalty
kill John Slaney, Cameron he Big, Ryan McGregor. It's all good.
Still for three minutes, just hangingout the Can you trust the boys?

(27:53):
I like that agent, they canhandle it. I appreciate that, Robbie.
I'm trying to think of more getto know you questions. Do you
have questions for me and Adrian aboutTucson before you head back? Like,
I feel like so much has changedsince you think. We just found out
his favorite restaurant ran out of business. It's a little hole in the wall

(28:18):
place. I think they're still going, so I'm excited to go back.
Tell me the name again, LosAlevos. It's a pizza place, Italian
food. It's real small. It'son Congress. I want to say away
from the downtown, but when youcome out of the rink and it's right
down the street, right down thestreet. Okay, So I live downtown
so I eat down here all thetime, and maybe it's on the west

(28:41):
side, kind of over over bythat mercantile. Yes, I think that's
where it is. Oh my god, I think it's still here. Oh
jeez, hold on a second,Jim local, Kim, you did,

(29:03):
I don't. I don't. Okay, I don't have to go there.
They have really good pizza. Itis on the west side. Okay,
how about me dialing it right in, putting the pin right where it is?
Kim dropped the pen Adrian, Ilike right there? Okay, So
what are the cross streets Adrian Congressand Grande Congress and Grande Grande or Granada.

(29:33):
Okay, okay, okay, Igot it. I got it.
I'm good. I'm pretty sure thatthat's where it would be. Yeah,
it's still right next door. Therewas a dessert place next door that was
really good too. Yeah, andthere's like an Italian place and all sorts
of stuff in there. I shouldcheck it out. Kim is just Kim

(29:57):
is just speechless. I don't knowhow I haven't. I really don't.
Rips me for going to Applebee's,for being a regular at the yard House.
You're a chain restaurant, guy Adrianexactory. I like my brands,
I like consistency. Just botched aplace less than a mile from where she

(30:19):
lives, no kidding, Yeah,I don't go to the West Side for
pizza on the West Side for pizza, Robbie, no food. No,
I'm definitely gonna have to try thisplace out. Now. I must have
driven by this place like literally, like nine millions in my life. It's

(30:41):
very easy to miss. I willsay. It's no reflection on you,
Kim, not personally, Okay,but there's there's more. There's there's so
much more food downtown. There's somany more options. So here's the point.
Here's the part, Robbie where youget guilted for only eating at your
pizza place Katado. Okay, let'shear what you got. Oh, so

(31:04):
there's a new pizza place, HotelCongress. It's so good. It's called
Heymates. Okay, It's there's justlike, yeah, I feel like there's
a lot a lot more options downtownthan there used to be. Like,
have you guys thought about what partof town you're going to live And I
didn't realize that you were living onthe West Side. I just assumed that
when When the guys get here, they all go to Oro Valley except for

(31:29):
Hebig, who lives close to therink. Yeah, a lot of guys
lived in that in Kantata place. Is that yeah? What is it?
Yeah? Complex, like north ofthe rink. Yeah. I really haven't
decided where we're going to live yet, but I don't know. I told

(31:52):
my fiance can't go wrong. Yeah, that's that's true. Okay, waits
circling to your fiance. What's thefive percent of the wedding that you're working
on? The task is already completed, is it? Yes? And how
many best men are you having? You guys have a coordinated dance or anything
like that? Uh, let's Ithink eight grooms, mental half nine grooms,

(32:16):
one best man and then yeah,we're going to do a dance.
I wouldn't say it's coordinated, butI'm gonna do me. We're gonna have
a nice first dance. Oh okay, have you been going like dance classes
or anything like we see in therom coms? Oh? Yeah, we
did do dance class. That's awesome. Oh my gosh, helped though?

(32:37):
Really? Were you not a dancerbefore that? No? Still, I'm
not all right? Are you goingto put those videos on social where we
see No, these will be privateman. All right, well, if
you feel like Sharon, let usknow. Yeah. Wait, and when
did you say the wedding is thetwenty seventh of this month? Did you

(32:58):
already have your bachelor party? Idid? Yeah? Did you guys go
somewhere or did you stay local? We went to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
So it's like it's like an hourand a half from Chicago, A nice
lake town, pretty popular around here. So it was a good time.
Was Is it like super chill likehunting, fishing, just like relaxing in
a cabin like imidgeoning or No?This is more of like a lake town

(33:22):
that's probably a little like thirty minutesoutside stuff like that. This is the
downtown's pretty nice. A lot ofpeople from Chicago have lake houses there and
stuff like that. Okay, interesting, Okay, So then my last question
for you, and then I'm goingto leave you alone for a little while.
Your family. Were they able tocome out and visit when you were
here last time and are they lookingforward to coming out either for the first

(33:45):
time or again? Uh? Yeah, they came. They came probably two
or three times. A year andthey're very excited to get to Tucson in
the Chicago winter months. So ortwo. Oh yeah, definitely have them
staying in Airbnb downtown, like there'sso many good airbas in Bestwonetown. Right
now, I'll relay the information, just planning planning that seed nice all right,

(34:07):
adrianam done? No good job,KiB final one for me. Robbie.
We're only five minutes over from ourfive minutes we promised, so no
worries. Well we'll get you outbefore the wedding. We promised that.
So Robbie is the Roadrunners. Wekind of talked about it earlier, the
Gem Show trip. The extended timeon the road. We we get to

(34:27):
check out a lot of our PacificDivision cities, you know, more than
you know busting day of game fromUtica to Syracuse, uticuta to Rochester,
et cetera. Right, So,any any spots on the Pacific Division,
even even Texas that that you're excitedto get back to again. Put on
the shorts and flip flops when wehave a couple of days off and uh

(34:51):
hang out after practice, right Yeah, no, that's something that definitely you
missed going to the East that doesn'treally exist. I remember San Diego having
some good dinner spots being fun.Texas as well those spots. Remember Colorado
we kind of played and then bustedright after the game to Denver, so
we weren't really able to do aton there. Maybe same with Ontario and

(35:15):
Bakersfield. I always felt like wewere busting after the game to one or
the other. But so you know, San Diego and then looking forward to
get to Palm Springs, see whatthat's like. Yeah, Palm Springs is
my new favorite. There we go, you know why, and it's just
like Tucson. It's exactly like twosoon, So that's my favorite. Nice
well, Robbie, appreciate it.Man. Glad we caught you before the

(35:37):
wedding. I would have felt awfulif I would have texted you on the
twenty seventh at three pm and askedyou to come on the podcast. So
glad we got you all the bestand we'll see you see you back in
the desert really really soon. Yeah, thanks for having me, Adrian and
Kim. Nice meeting you. Niceto meet you too, Robbie, was
a really nice to meet Kim.Have fun at the wedding. Enjoy yourselves

(35:59):
and have a great honeymoon. Thankyou, guys, Thank you, see
you guys soon. I told you, Kim that you'd like him. I
told you really really engaging and fun. It would be great on the podcast.
He's fantastic. Yeah, Like givehim the mic at every holiday party,
whatever holiday party we're having, hegets the mic and interview interview season
to give memories. It's like likehe never left. Yeah, seriously,

(36:22):
it's been that's been such a longwe've gone that, we've gone through so
much. The world is a differentplace than it was when he was here
last time. I mean hockey clubsmight have been affected the most out of
all that. Like we played agame on March thirteenth, twenty twenty.
March fourteenth, twenty twenty, World'sover. Guys walked out of the arena,

(36:45):
went home. We never saw himagain. They ended up elsewhere.
Was that to me sitting in thisseat now doing this work, that would
have been heartbreaking for me? Like, I literally I feel like I physically
to have had a reaction to that. How did you handle that? Especially
with the team we thought we weregoing to win a championship with right,

(37:07):
remind me Okay, so we talkedabout bunting Mayo, Robbie and Michael Shappoo,
Aiden Hill mm hmm, holy smoke. Oh wow, Villy Sorry r

(37:28):
V. That's a wow trip downmemory lane, isn't it. Oh we
made some trades Marcus Hannah Kainan theguy that scored the goal between his legs
two weeks earlier. U A malePeterson? Uh? Yeah, who was
backing up Aiden? Oh? Okay, Oh that was that time? Gotcha?

(37:53):
That was it? Yeah? Sucha different world than we live in
right now. It's so excited thatRobbie's back. He seems in the time
that we've talked to him, like, I can't imagine that he's not going
to fit in so well to thelocker room. He said the Roadrunners were
the first team that reached out.You got to think that John Slaney and
Steve Pott then had something something todo with that, having been with them

(38:15):
for a couple of years four yearsago. Right, Yeah, yeah,
I actually I've meant to ask himwho made that phone call, you know,
and yeah, who who connected andreached out to him? But yeah,
that's I'm excited. And he's gettingmarried, Like, yeah, wow,
so much change. That's UH.I am excited for his fiance to

(38:37):
not just get married, but thenalso to move to Arizona and have this
experience with him. They're really reallygonna love it. And UH yeah adding
adding him and Kevin Connaughton, theveteran defenseman signed the two way last week.
UH, We've we've put in somegood pieces. Andrew A. Gazino,
remember him, the pointy game guythat we've seen with Colorado San Diego

(39:00):
San Jose signed to a couple ofU two ways. We made a big
trade. UH last week, kimIgor soko Off acquired from Ottawa. Yan
Yanique free agent, his rights traded, UH traded to Ottawa. So gonna

(39:22):
miss yan and and Jenna around theTCC and Jenna's parents. They're they're great,
but UH equally excited UH for janto get a new start, new
organization and for Egor soko Off,the all time leader in games played and

(39:43):
scoring for the Belleville Senators nineteen goalsor more in UH in three straight seasons.
We had Jake on the podcast lastweek. He said, I I
don't end the Pacific Division defensemen thatare gonna have to play with Austin Paganski
and Egor circled off on the sameline and said, he's really really heavy
in the corners and with the puckand and and just a real character guy.

(40:07):
I watched an interview he did atthe end of the season last year
when Belleville got eliminated, and hecould just tell what a great guy this
this is, This is going tobe a huge, huge addition to the
organization. And Jake saying the samething, might have might have ended up

(40:27):
in a log jam in Belleville andcoming out uh in in Ottawa and getting
getting call ups and might be infor a for a fresh start year.
And how long how long was hein Belleville for four seasons? I believe?
Oh, okay, so he hadbeen there. He'd been there for
for a while while too. Wow. So it's going to be a big

(40:49):
change, big change for Igor.Yeah, that's what Jake was saying.
Excited to excited to introduce him tothe desert. Yep, yeah, yeah,
I think, yeah, he's gonnalove hockey in the desert. We
know he's gonna love it. It'sit's gonna be a be a fun thing.
In the last week, Kim added, Ryan McGregor back for an HL

(41:12):
contract. Bobby mentioned we talked aboutAndrew Gazino added another goalie, Jackson Stobber
from UH from Rockford, who's justgonna add some some really good depth to
that. He's had some some goodseasons in the in the Blackhawks organization went

(41:32):
eighteen eight and three last year withthe with Rockford, so adding mat adding
connoton. As we talked about,Sam Lipkin was the star of the development
camp scrimmage. Yeah, on Julyfifth, you did a great interview with

(41:52):
him. That was that was alot of fun to listen to that fun.
Yeah, that was fantastic. Andwe're doing the interview you where we'd
just done a press conference. Yes, I said, right, and so
we're just we just walked right upand sat down where they were doing the
press conference and the backdrop pipe anddrape. The poor people taking it down

(42:13):
waited for a half hour inter Theywalked in right as we started the interview
and like two questions. Didn't like, oh they're waiting for us to leave,
and I just kept going. Butyeah, me and me and Sam
had fun. Well, because it'sit's loud taking down that pipe and drape
it's yeah, so they were veryvery nice to wait for us, right
because when we interviewed Steve, wedid the same thing. We did the

(42:35):
press conference, and we interviewed himright afterwards, and they didn't They had
to turn over that room so fast. They did not wait, and it
was incredibly loud. It's just wedid not walk up on stage and do
our podcast there. Oh yeah, gotcha, gotcha did podcast from when you
were Gone? I got halfway throughthe second. I didn't hear all of

(42:58):
Wills, and I have so manyquestions for Will Gavin. I want to
talk to him because because he wentto the Air Force Academy. Yeah,
now the military guy. I knewthat you would he would miss that.
But yeah, Steut went you.As I said to Will, July fourth
used to just be a holiday. You take the day off, or in
Kim's case in twenty twenty four, you go away for ten days. I

(43:20):
mean sometimes you just got to yougotta go sit on the beach. Trip.
Did anything happen on your trip thatyou want to talk about on the
podcast? You're like, I gotto talk about this on the podcast.
I had a very interesting and veryinteresting trip. It was great when I
talk about, Oh, I justwant to go sit on the beach and
read a book for seven days.In theory, that is the best idea

(43:45):
ever, right, you just sitthere. The reality is that I got
sunburnt after one day because the UVindex in San Diego is so high that
even though it was a little bitovercast, I wasn't paying attention and I'm
just lying reading my book, youknow, for and I think I think
day one we were only out therefor maybe like four or five hours.

(44:08):
And yeah, completely right across thetop of my shoulders, and you know,
like when it just when you're youcan't even put clothes on. It
hurts your skin hurts that badly. And then that's the biggest fear I have
of anything ever. Yes, sudburt. And then Megan unfortunately got burned right

(44:30):
in like her raccoon eye area becauseshe had her sunglasses on. So she
had her little raccoon sunburn going forthe entire week that we were there,
and I think she still has ita little bit. But it was an
incredibly interesting vacation because Megan, wehad to make some compromises traveling together,

(44:52):
so I chose for us to stayin an Airbnb for half the trip in
Mission Beach, which was fantastic. We were literally like the beach was right
there. It was fantastic. Thecompromise in paying the amount that we did
for the Airbnb, especially during thefourth of July, was that the front

(45:15):
half of the trip we stayed ina hostel in Ocean Beach. Yeah,
and I've stayed in hostels before, but I have not stayed in a hostel
in a few years. And sowe had roommates. We had two male
roommates while we were there in avery small space. Our bathroom, our

(45:38):
shower was not on the same floorthat we were. Again, we were
incredibly close to beach. We wereright in the middle of everything in Ocean
Beach, and the hostel was supercute. Is this two story It's in
the middle of all these shops andrestaurants, and then it's just this really
beautiful house, like a big housethat had this great porch with like these

(46:01):
egg shaped hanging chairs. And Ijust loved sitting on the front porch and
the egg shaped hanging chairs. Butbeing in such tight accommodations with two strangers
for four days, not were theygood guys? Yes, they were They
were both good guys. One wasa little bit more chatty than the other

(46:25):
one. He was, you know, like the kind of person who you
have your headphones on, but he'sstill talking to you and you can just
see that he's talking to you,so then you have to take your headphones
off, you know, like he'sjust talking. He's talking, he's he's
doing his thing. And the funnypart was the American American guys. They
were both American. One was inthe Navy and he was just like on
baking, had just gotten back tothe States after being deployed for a year.

(46:47):
He's just like trying to figure outwhat his next step is and like
where he's gonna live. He wasnever there, so it was fantastic.
And then the other kid was fromPhoenix, so yeah, we had we
had some good chats with him.He gave us, are you just like
in one room with like four bedsand four bunk beds rooms or two bunk

(47:07):
beds in one room? Yes,and you're sleeping and they're sleeping. Uh
huh uh huh. And it's I'mtrying to think if there's like if I
can give you the room was tiny, It wasn't even like ten by ten,
it was elsewhere in the hostel orwere you in camp to the room.
Well, there's lots of space tohang out in the hostel and there's

(47:30):
like a shared kitchen, but yeah, yeah, and there's like all these
unwritten rules of staying in hostels, like things that like turning on lights and
being loud and using how many totalpeople were hostile. It was packed.

(47:50):
It was all booked the entire timethat we were there because it was a
holiday, so I don't know. They had maybe like twenty rooms and if
they've they had some private rooms, but they were booked. So it was
fully booked the entire time. Therewas people everywhere every time you leave the
room, and they're sand everywhere too. Because we're so close to the beach,

(48:14):
you're just bringing the beach back withyou every time. So it was
in incredibly I need to write aboutit. Can send a picture of all
this stuff. I got to seeit. Yeah, I'm going to send
you. The pictures are they're gonnamake it look really cute and yeah,
yeah, I'm gonna send you.But it was. It was a cute

(48:35):
hostel. They were very nice. The the cohabitation was a surprise to me.
I'm sending you this right now.I will email or I'll text you
this. Yeah, so you haveto keep in mind when I send you,
when I show you pictures that thepictures of the rooms or they're using

(48:57):
a fish eye lens so that itlooks much bigger than it actually is.
Like like you can't unpack everything thatyou own. You're living one out of
your suitcase. There's no where toput things. Your suitcase is living under
the bunk bed and you have topull it out every time you need to
get something. And you have tomake sure that nobody's moving around the room

(49:20):
when you pull your suitcase out, because nobody else will be able to walk
anywhere. That's how tight it is. It was. It very much reminded
me of being on the ship.It was like being on the ship.
This is what accommodations are. It'svery similar to being on an aircraft carrier
at times. And you paid forthis, yes, this was how much

(49:43):
does that cost to night? Ohmy god, Arian is so cheap.
It was sixty dollars the night aperson or no, for both of us,
sixty that's yeah, so it's crediblycheap. It was like right,
Like I said, it was righteverything. What's the housekeeping situation at a
hostel still, I don't know ifit's different. I've stayed in hostels in
London before and it's got to bedifferent. There's there's a Yeah, there's

(50:08):
a housekeeping woman who goes through andis cleaning the common areas and if you
need anything you can go to thefront desk and ask them for it.
But they're not going into the roomsunless you're leaving. When you check out
that that's when they're coming into theroom, and they're basically just removing bedding

(50:31):
and replacing bedding. And you did. That's for your first three nights there
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Yeah, first three nights and then we went
into the airbnb gotcha. Yeah,I was a development camp. I've got
my own stories from that. Yeah. What did you stay in accommodations that
are similar to a US No?I stayed at my home. Oh that's

(50:53):
right, stayed at my home anddrove my car, which that's another story
we're going to get to. Didyou wash it? Don't deal with that
for a little bit. Not todeal with that for a little bit.
I'll get to developed cap recap afterwe uh go over the schedule. What
did you think of the schedule thatjust came out? It looks great.

(51:15):
I'm I'm very excited. There wastwo things on the schedule that I personally
am looking forward to. Do youwant to know what those are? Yeah?
I know I want to draft them. Oh, let's go. Let's
do it right now. Then, things you're looking forward to, because on
the schedule, we're gonna draft ourfirst five things, our favorite five things.

(51:37):
Now, go ahead. Hey,did you hear? Did you hear?
Hear? The draft with me andJake? It was no of a
disaster, And the one with meand Will was a little bit of a
disaster too, because I drafted somethingthat he took and I didn't realize it.
So my pick got was disqualified whenwe were doing ice cream. Yeah,

(52:00):
but did you I mean, youmade the rules. You can change
the rules. You don't have tobe disqualified. I disqualified EXCEP Law and
order. Yeah, so me andJake drafting cheesecakes, I got a little
little gnarled. But wait, howcome what happened? I didn't make it
that far. I have to finish. We were just kind of all over

(52:21):
the map like we did kind ofdifferent format, like kind of snake draft,
kind of first come, first servekind of that stuff. Oh okay,
that's that's okay. I think thatthat was just being a little structure
without a co host, but alot for me to handle, a lot
for me to handle. The crazypart is that you are the structure.
I'm I'm the absolute chaos co host. No, you're I don't think there's

(52:46):
any structure, but you you helpwith it. Okay, thank you.
I appreciate that. Well, thankyou. Let's uh yeah, let's draft
our favorite things on the schedule thatthat came out last week. You're up.
Okay, So my number one isand I have to pull up the
schedule and we wrote down too becauseit wasn't prepared for a draft. But
my first is on theline. Itwas on Friday. It's on the outline.

(53:10):
Friday, November twenty second. We'replaying Calgary. Yes that is my
birthday. Oh yeah, I'm excited. Yes, yes, yes, that's
awesome. Okay, I'm going totake I'm going to take Opening Night.

(53:30):
It was my favorite promen nite froma couple of weeks ago. But I'm
taking Opening Night at the tcc asan easy first pick. That is an
easy first Saturday, October nineteenth againstTexas, second time in four years.
Remember we played Texas in twenty twentyone and shut them out for nothing on
opening night. Ben McCartney got ahand trick, so bring that. Oh

(53:52):
my gosh. Okay, all right, okay, So my number two is
February twenty eighth for two. Okay, So I feel like this is my
number two and number three because there'stwo reasons that I like this February twenty
eighth game. Number One, we'regoing to be playing Rockford, who we
haven't seen in a minute, right, and they're out of division, so

(54:14):
I love the out of division games, So that's number one reason. Number
two reason is that that's my son'sbirthday, all right, Yeah, so
if we had a March second game, we would have hit Megan's birthday and
then you would have had everybody inthe family. So fair enough, liken't

(54:36):
like it. Yeah, I likethe holidays, Kim. I'm going to
say Wednesday, November twenty seventh againstKachella Valley, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving,
being at home, being able togo home after the game and wake up
on Thanksgiving morning Intucson because all butonce in six years we've been on the

(55:00):
road or not at home for Thanksgivingsince I've been with the team. So
taking that one, okay, that'sa good one. I like that one,
Okay. So my next is Wednesday, January twenty second against Henderson.
Oh yeah, it's a gimme rightthe field trip the School Day Game.

(55:21):
School Day Game dropped to the thirdround, yes well yeah, just because
of personal reasons, but normally itwould be my number one. That is
the most fantastic game of the entireseason. Like I shoot so much videos
for social media from School Day Gamebecause it's just so entertaining, not just
what's happening on the ice, butthe fans, what's happening in the stands.

(55:44):
It's one of my favorite experiences.I'll go Friday, October eleventh,
the season opener in Colorado, oneof my favorite favorite places to go.
It's beautiful up there on the Rams. Red Winners pat some good success on
the Ram over the years, ourfirst sweep going down the stretch in March
twenty twenty three, and a bigcomeback win last time we were there December

(56:07):
ninth, down three to one,and third one four to three. So
opening night, first game of theseason, Friday, October eleventh, Colorado,
I'm taking, Okay, all right, I gotcha, Okay, So
then I'm going to take Friday Aprileighteenth and Saturday April nineteenth as our home
finales against the Eagles because those willend up being fan appreciation. And absolutely

(56:31):
love fan appreciation. We are incrediblybusy just giving things out, and I
know, I know it's a hardtime for the rally runners because they are
physically running during this game to handthings out to fans all over the arena.
But just I'm not looking forward tothe end of the season already,
but I just I love the energyof those games. Okay, you took

(56:57):
Wednesday, January twenty second, I'mgoing to take Monday, January twentieth,
Martin Luther King Day, six pm. We're starting a six game homestand that
comes after a seven game road trip. We start the first seven games of
twenty twenty five on the road.So I'm gonna take game one of the
six game homestand Monday, January twentieth, a six game homestand that comes before

(57:20):
seven straight more on the road forthe GEM Show. But also taking that
because we wrap up in Calgary onWednesday, January fifteenth, and then we
don't play until that Monday, sowe get a good weekend back in Tucson
and January without games. That neverhappens before we start a six game homestand

(57:42):
I'm taking it. Oh that's nice, that sounds really nice. Okay,
So here's what my last pick is. This is last right, yep,
Okay, My last pick is allthe games, all the home games in
November, December, and April, because those are all the months where we're
playing six games at home and yeah, and so those are always my favorite

(58:05):
months because we're there, like Iget to see the game live, everything
is happening, and every other monthdoesn't have quite as many games. So
those those are gonna be my favorite. November, December, April. Six
home games each month, four athome in October, six at home in
November sixth and December five and Januaryfour and February with the Gem Show five

(58:27):
in March sixth April. So prettypretty balanced there. I just have never
seen two seven game road trips withina month of each other, but we
are the road runner. We are. What's going on with the TCC in
early January. Good night. Yeah, I'm curious. Maybe Disney is here,
I don't know. Possibly truck Monstertruck jams, geez, I don't

(58:52):
know. All right, here's whatI'm taking, last pick. It is
a road game, and it isgoing to be I was looking at one
thing and it's not there, SoI'm pulling it up over here. I'm
gonna take. All right, I'mgonna do this. I'm gonna take the

(59:14):
last game of the Gem Show tripon Wednesday, February nineteenth in Coachella Valley.
We only go to Coachella twice thisyear. We only go to San
Jose for two games this year becausewe're going to Canada four times to play
FoEI agn Avatur and four in CalgaryCoachella Valley. So they said, with

(59:35):
Robbie, my favorite place, weonly go there for two games. So
I'm gonna take the last game ofthe Gem Show trip, which also happens
to be in Coachella Valley. Okay, that's a great take. I didn't
really Yeah, only two games inCoachella A you're gonna be okay? Yeah?
Man, it just sucks, likeI mean, I know, you

(59:59):
know how much I love on toCanada, but I'm about, you know,
where where can I run run outsidebeing shorts between morning skate and the
game. I know, I know, I got some good running spots for
you when because I was just inSan Diego, I got some good running
spots for you. San Diego iswonderful. Yeah, it's hilly. It's

(01:00:21):
a lot more hilly than I rememberit. Yeah it is it is.
Yeah. So well, Yeah,I'm excited for the schedule this season.
Yeah, and a lot of excitingnews on the signings. I was with
Steve Poppin on day one of developmentcamp. We were walking from the ice

(01:00:43):
rink across the soccer field to theoffice and the building where they had all
the workout facilities and the offices andstuff. So we have a little bit
of a walk when we got thenews that Kevin Connaughton had signed in the
two way, and he was reallyreally excited about that, just he was
in our organization before twenty eighteen.Twenty nineteen was the last one we've seen

(01:01:06):
him with Colorado, we've seen himwith Ontario, but excited to just have
that captain on the blue line whocan run the power play, who's skilled
who's a good leader. So Iwas with Steve when we both got that
news and he was really excited aboutit. Yeah. No, that's fantastic.
So Kevin Cannat and Andre Gazino, guys that we've seen before. So

(01:01:27):
you don't make enemies with people thepenalty boxes, Kim, I don't know
if you've ever done that as aPA announcer. Just one time. Oh
yeah, yeah, I'll tell youabout it late. We need to pre
screen up before we bring up onthe podcast. Yeah, I think man,
Kim using a filter on the podcast. That must be serious. Yeah.

(01:01:49):
I don't want to. I don'twant to ruffle any feathers. But
it just happened one time. Itwas years ago. It was my first
season, so long, long, long, long time ago. All right,
Well, in the meantime, doyou want to draft road trip snacks?
Let's go. I'm so ready forthis one. Okay, road trip
snacks you go first? No,you go first, because I went first

(01:02:12):
for games. It's fair. I'lltake do you stop off at the convenience
store. There's no rules, there'sno calories, just like our drink draft.
Yeah, taken gummy bears? Oh, is there a specific the labor
of gummy bear or just you're justgrabbing whatever you see first, grabbing Mammy
Bears, and I might, Imight take it. No, I'm gonna

(01:02:36):
make my next pick. I'm justgrabbing a bag of gummy bears. So
gummy bears is my first pick.Gotcha? Gotcha? I like that.
That's somewhat similar to my first pick, but it's different. My first pick
is those nerds clusters. Have youseen these things? Yeah? Have you
tried them? No? They arethe most addictive candy I've ever eaten in

(01:03:00):
my entire life. They are sogood, so good. I when I
was in on the way back fromSan Diego, we got delayed, so
we should have left at noon.We had a noon flight and we didn't
fly out until close to six pm, so we were just sitting there.
That's right, you flew. Ikeep thinking you drove, which is why

(01:03:22):
I'm drafting road trip snacks with you. No, no, no, you
can drive, but it works. No, honestly, we should have driven.
The only reason I didn't is becausetrying to find parking in San Diego
is trying to find a needle ina needlestack kind of situation. So we
flew but I only survived because ofnerds clusters, sitting in that sitting in

(01:03:43):
that airport. Yeah, you gotto try nerds clusters. Adrian never amazing.
Get the pink bag. The pinkbag is the one that you need.
So when we're on a road trip, on a bus trip, will
stop halfway if it's like a daytrip, like if we're going from Tucson
to San Diego to sound of Bags, will stop it a sprouts halfway.
Sprouts in Yuma, sprouts in goodYear, right, the bulk stuff like

(01:04:12):
this is not stuff. I getthat. It's stuff I see and I
envy, like the bulks stuff likeyeah, bulk cashews. Uh getting getting
a bunch of bulk stuff. Okay, looks fun. That's awesome. I
didn't realize there was the sprouts inYuma and that you guys are in there.
That's awesome. Yeah, take advantage. So this is a little similar

(01:04:32):
to mine, my number two,but different because I said trail mix and
I really like obviously the ones withcandy in them, which is cheating,
but those the one that I haveright now has peanut butter, little peanut
butter chips in it along with likeraisins, and nuts, and I think

(01:04:56):
there's like a couple of different kindsof nuts in there, but then there's
also em and ms in there,so you get the peanut butter plus the
M and ms. So I likethe cheat trail make oh yeah, and
yeah some Reese's pieces occasionally, Yeah, I'll take up bagel chips. Oh,
bagel chips, I do. Doyou have a flavor that you like,

(01:05:19):
the big bag of Costco kind, like the big stinky ones or you
know what I'm talking about, likethe garlic y plates allion flavored. Oh
yeah, yeah, right, I'mstill with you. But the stinky ones
are awesome, very different from mynumber three pick, which is fresh fruit,

(01:05:42):
cherries, apples, and grapes.I love. Yeah, I love
having that handy and just eat them. Yeah, like really quick, I'm
taking dried fruit then Oh okay, yeah, d okay, I gotcha.
I picked chips for my number mynumber four and because I couldn't decide,

(01:06:03):
like I will eat almost any kindof chips except hot cheetos and funians I
don't eat, but like, itjust depends on the mood that I'm in
when I walk into the store toget the snacks. So chips any kind.
I will take soft serve ice cream, a cone of soft serve ice

(01:06:24):
cream. Oh, that sounds reallytops. Places have soft serve ice cream.
I'll take a cup of cone ofsoft serve ice cream. Okay,
all right, I got it.Anything chocolate, it is my last draft.
Anything chocolate, I like it.Did you write everything down? Of
course? Do you? Will? You read what I drafted? Read what

(01:06:45):
you drafted for the folks here?Oh? Oh no, I didn't write.
I'm sorry. I started to andthen I didn't. I usually like
to do a recap, so Ibut like I did with Will Gavin the
show that I made a mistake anddrafted Cookie Dough three in the third round
after he drafted it in the firstround. Oh, no mistakes were made

(01:07:06):
today. You were immaculate in yourdecisions. All smooth, all smooth,
all right. So we were luckyto get Robbie because it's vacation season.
Yeah, it's wedding season. Yeah, people are coming and going. I
tried Ryan McGregor, he's at hiscottage. I tried Austin Pagansky signed to

(01:07:33):
that two year contract earlier in theweek. Austin is going up north.
I assumed to a cabin or cottagein Minnesota. Today, tried Travis Barron.
He has a charity event that he'sat today. So Robbie Russo was
the fourth person, and I'm gladI got him because we would rolling into

(01:07:57):
the wedding if we didn't. Yeah, yeah, great timing. That worked
out very serendipitously. So I thinkwe're gonna we're gonna have Austin mcganski okay
next week on the podcast, andTravis Barron and Ryan McGregor are waiting for
us to to call back. Okay, sounds perfect. I Bettin's at a

(01:08:20):
lake somewhere. Bet bet me thathe's gotta be landed ten thousand lakes.
They're going somewhere with a lake, right, Yeah for sure. Okay,
all right. I think that's uh, that's uh what we have, Kim.
I think we fit our ur plus. Had a great time talking to

(01:08:42):
Robbie Russo. Did not give whathappened on day two of development camp.
I told you what happened on dayone, right development camp. I told
you what happened on day five ofdevelopment camp. Sam Lipkin stole the show
at the Prospects of Scrimmage A dayone I told you. Kevin Cannaughton got

(01:09:09):
signed. H. I think I'mgonna save what happened on day two because
we're out of time. I'm gonnasave it. Save great teaser. You
never know, you never know whenwe're gonna need another filler story. And
we heard about your hostels today.I think that's enough. I think we

(01:09:30):
can say, Okay, we gota good uh, we got a good
day in the life vacation story fromKim Adrian's Day two story from Development Camp.
Can wait, Okay, I'm excited. Yeah, sounds great. It's
not exciting. It's bad, butsharing a room with two strangers, it's

(01:09:55):
it's ongoing saga bad. Does thatsay anything? I am intrigued. Okay,
all right, So we'll take youout today on Roadrunners Rock. Thanks
to Robbie Russo, thanks for stoppingby, Thanks for giving us seventy plus
minutes of your time on this uh, this mid July day. As you

(01:10:15):
consume our podcast and we appreciate it, we'll talk to you next week,
presumably last Maganski come after one ofours. You're gonna need a lot more
friends. We've seen news gape before. We know how this story ends.
Tonight, We're rising up tonight togo down. You try to run up
on us. We're going on time. Get all the bus, go back

(01:10:43):
to where it came from. Gettingon the bus, drop five file away,
hang up this gates, drop yourgloves, but just do this away.
You got beat down tonight. That'sthe DISA way, right Brogota from

(01:11:05):
Robota from Robot a frock I thinkto say
