The Coast Breakfast Bonus Podcast with Tony Jason, Sam.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Thanks for listening to our Breakfast Bonus podcast. Today, we're
talking about the thing that you may have seen in
the news, the woman who has taken her ex boyfriend
to the Small Claims court to make a claim against
them because basically what happened. They were going up for
six years and she needed to catch a flight and
he doesn worry about it. Babe, I got this. I'll
take it to the airport. You won't miss your flight,
easy as all. Good to go. Oh thanks baby, that'd
be lovely, Thank you, everybody, you'd have these conversations go.

(00:25):
You know, he didn't take it to the airport, and
I think he was at her house and he may
have been doing things illegally, but anyway, by the by
some of the Devil's letters, I'm not sure either way,
he didn't take it to the airport, and so therefore
she missed a plane and had to buy another flight.
She had to pay for another flight. So she's made
a claim against him and take him to court.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
How much does she need, that's a good question.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
She's probably claiming for a lot of grand probably.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Yeah, do you know what I'd like to take my
husband to the small claims course. And this was genuinely
a conversation we had last night. So it's my brother
in law's birthday today, birthday, Rich if you're listening to
this podcast, which is unlikely.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Because I was just tell him about it when I
seem this tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
He might be listening at any time, so.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, it could be.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
So.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Anyway, my husband went to a school fundraiser, right.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
And we do a lot for the school. We coached
pretty much every sport team.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
The school has two of you.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
You do you'll MC the garla.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
My husband's on the board. And so he goes to
Dad's Night. Where were you at Dad's Night? Semi not
one to be involved in community things.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Rible.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Anyway, they had this auction at the Dad's Night, like
you know, with items and things, and he decided to
get and he texts me and he goes, Ah, got
us an auction item. And I was so excited because
the last auction item I got from the school was
a six month supply of Ben and Jerry's ice cream,
which was a fabulous one for the family.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
So he brings home a Tottenham.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Hots the football shirt, which is great which you know,
we love sports, specifically a team we like. But he
turned to me and he said, two people in our
family like Tottenham Holt Spur. I was like, who are they?
And he said, Rich my brother in law, true and
also my other brother in law, his sister's husband, Liam
is a big Spurs fan.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Right, brothers in law.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I get this shirt and I look at it and
it's four x OL.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
And they also happen to be the smallest members of
her family too, like they would be wearing an extra
small both these men. And he's got it in a
four x OL. So where is the tottenhamolt Spur shirt.
It is sitting in my cupboard. And I said to him,
of all the items like I would have preferred, you've
got a box of Roses chocolates.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
At least I could have actually given that to someone.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I know.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
The position he's in here.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
So I want to claim against the one hundred and fifty
dollars he bought for the four exl.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
He was obligated though, because people bought options to the item.
It was the one that will and going thought anything
else that was that was the thing left over.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Get me a nice candle, get me the box.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I don't think there would have been chocolates or a
candle at Men's night.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
That's the problem.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
And then he just said it's a donation to the school,
and I was like, well, I would rather you donate
it to the school so I don't have to do
anything with the tottenhamolt smoosh.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Do you know a little while I think I told
you guys this, I was him seeing a fundraiser.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Again.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It was a fundraiser for a school and there was
an auction and they had a warrior's jersey there and
I would have preferred that absolutely. And so the guy
was studying a few beers in and he's like, yeah,
i'll get this her. Yeah, And he starts bidding. He
starts he's going higher and higher and higher. Now he
looks over and his wife's at the bar, and she
doesn't know it's her husband. Keeps bidding. And when we
went like hundreds and hundreds made just I think it
was one thousand dollars or this jersey wasn't a signed

(03:42):
jersey anyway, So he bought it. She rushes over from
the bar, starts slamming the day. Well what have you done?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
What have you done?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
And this big argument starts V and I'm like, this
is another's happening in the big hall. Everyone's near watching,
and I felt for the guy and I felt for her. Well,
I actually don't know because then all the other PTA
mums as I've got involved about how to sort this
out because he had won the auction.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
It seems like.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Such a good idea at the time, doesn't it. That
reminds me about five years ago I bid on and
won a side boat and Barrett ball. But it's been
sitting in my cubit ever since because I don't know
what to do with that and I don't want anyone.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
To use it. I don't want to put Boden Barrett's
ball on my With.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
The top hot Spurs jerseys, I'm starting to sense a
pool room, you know what I mean, like real sporting memory.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
So they walk past the jerseys and go, oh these
Metts New Zealand and the nineties who paid for the Spurs?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
That was my very large uncle John.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Now on the topic, though, I think I want to
take my wife to the small claims court too, Do
you want? It was a number of things, Yeah, I
think that the one off the top of my head
that kind of comes to mind was the time that
she backed my car into my bike.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Oh that though, well, that was her fault.

Speaker 5 (04:56):
I wasn't anywhere to be seen, you know, I wasn't
even at home. She decided you put the car away
and crashed into my So I bent the handlebars on
my bike and put a dent in the back of
my car. So I reckon I could take it for
a grand there can you take?

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Can you take your husband's to the small claims court?
And I'm just thinking for Sia here on being just
a liability.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
That it's just down the hallway, that's the divorce one.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
