Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, all right, all.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Right, yes, indeed you are the author of your story,
of your journal. In this journal, you will get to
know yourself better.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
And who better to get to know dear journal.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
So Adrian Or finally stops holding us to ransom and
what has been a fairly nasty mantra, hold till it hurts,
And there has been some hurt. Legacy businesses have folded.
Family businesses have gone under, and with it it's broken families.
When legacy businesses like Smith and Coey's and SPQR can't survive,
you know something's wrong. Then you have to start congratulating

(00:38):
the businesses who have stayed afloat and the owners who
have fought tooth and nail to keep their staff on
the payroll. Owning a business comes with a huge amount
of responsibility the livelihood of the people you employ, their
futures and their children's futures. And with that responsibility comes
sleepless nights. I genuinely hope that this drop in the
cash rate is the dawn of a more prosperous time,
that business owners can start moving forward and not backwards,

(01:00):
that they can sleep a full night knowing that they
are finally on the men a time that they will
be rewarded for their risk and not exposed by it,
and that going forward, the people that pulled the levers
learn from the mess they have inflicted upon us. And
let's hope that the two point two to five drop
is just the beginning.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Amen absolutely high journal. Like a lot of Kiwis, I've
grown up loving the All Blacks.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I've watched games with my dad and my mates and
now with my own sons, and I've seen our team
win big and accidentally lose big.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
But throughout the years I've remained a fan.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
While last year's Rugby World Cup lost by one point
to a fantastic spring box side and several holdingly bad
referee decisions, hurt, I was still waving the black flag
with pride, even when a few days ago our team
was well and truly beaten by deserving Argentina and pack
of Poomas the.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Knives came out, the critics were allowed.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
But whether we're talking about sports or life in general,
I reckon we could all learn a lot from Warriors fans.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
They never give up hope, they always keep the faith.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
So when our All Blacks run out of Eden Park
tomorrow night, I'm still choosing to believe that we can
extend the run on that hallow turf to fifty games undefeated.
Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, strength does not come from winning
your struggles. Develop your strengths, and when you go through
hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. I
can't spell his surname, but I love what he said.
And as for all blacks, they'll be back.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Oh Ja, that is.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Great, They'll be back. I'll be back. I love. It's
quite insulting.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Both you two had very inspiring journals today, and I'm
going to carry on that inspirational theme a nice, dear journal.
Isn't victory sweeter when your backs are against the war?
Inspired by the flurry of gold medals at the Olympic Games,
my wee year five netball team full of ten year
olds had what was essentially their Olympic final this week,
and boy was it a mega challenge just to field

(02:43):
a team. One had an air infection, the other was
battling the five day fever that's going around. Another took
to the court but looked like death warmed up literally.
Not only that this particular team we we're playing were
really good and they had beaten us the last time
we'd played, so we needed to play our absolute best
standard chance and against all odds, the Belmont Beers dug

(03:03):
deep and came out the gates with gusto. They were
leading seven to at quarter time and never relinquished their
dominating start.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
As their coach, I could.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Not be proud of the look of surprise and delight
on their we faces was magic. It just shows you
that with a bit of perseverance, a lot of hard
work and practice, some serious focus and determination when it counts,
anything is possible. And once again we have Sport to
thank for this important life lesson.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah, so as we snapshot of our week, hopefully yours
has been really good and either way your weekend is
even better.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Thanks for listening.
