Honestly, the commentators like it's a bit like they're like
the nipples, acc a they.

at sixty nine and more details of the news at
half past six. Obviously it's a huge shock. Also a
(02:24):
big shot last night is the fact that we took
the court. Not only did we take the court, we
were alongside some of the greatest sports people in New

Speaker 5 (02:31):
No honest too.
Speaker 1 (02:32):

we were down by quite a bit, but I'll tell
you what, we pulled the back.
Speaker 4 (03:10):

were a down nine points, weren't we, And then all
of a sudden things just started to click.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
All the people that didn't normally play netball just they.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Got the rhythms, and all of a sudden we were
going to the third quarter, I think, down three or
four points. We had a genuine contest on our hands,
and then the game got stretched into the fourth quarter?
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Did that a little bit At the time I blew
my cast.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
It kind of was because Tony.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Had taken care of the middle and she was kind
of the bridge between the defense and the attack, and
then all of a sudden that link was broken and
we couldn't get the ball to our Starscorer Cookpenny, have a.

Speaker 6 (06:50):

Two astronauts currently stranded at the International Space Station NASA
officials confirming that they won't be able to return to
Earth until.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Next year febury, that is fear.

An initial report from the NASA astronauts said, it's not
great up here, but at least it's not Palmerston, North

on full pay is a labour MP. But she's also
out because she returned to work with a bad leg
and the press gallery were onto her.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
Was it because you're on celebrity Treasure Island and that's
where you got the injury.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
I'm not going to state where I got the injury.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Was there an island involved?
Speaker 3 (07:48):
No comment involved?
Speaker 10 (07:51):

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Was the treasure involved? Than you would you be on

Because the politicians are in in luxury.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Government has been accused of hypocrisy by labor as it
looks to spend out to seven million dollars on three
new officers for ministers, not.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
The time to redecorate the house. Can we just talk
about seven million dollars for three officers?
Speaker 9 (08:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Who's their interior designer? What are you putting in a spa?

Speaker 13 (08:54):
Biggest in the world?
Speaker 9 (08:55):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
One carrot?
Speaker 11 (08:56):
Diamond?
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Is a big diamond?
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I'm seeing like fifteen carrots two.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Thousand, four hundred and ninety two. Yeah, it's a big
thing up.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
That's almost as becaus Kate Harsby's won, you know, Hosky win.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
And finally, the people that wanted out the thirteenth thrill
Seekers stuck mid air at an Australian theme park when
of all text ride malfunction twenty meters in the air,
remaining stranded for ninety minutes, so long it is, but
it could have been worse.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
They could have been stuck in Palmestan North.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
No, it could have been worse. They could have fallen
off the right, could have it just jokes people, And.
Speaker 6 (09:35):
That was the weekend years for I'll tell you what
we thought it was it last night when Tony Street
was playing in this netball game, the Coast Invitational against
the ex Ferns. Phenomenal match. Until we thought, oh, this
is it. Tony Street started holding to the sideline.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, we knew it was that at that point because
we lost our kind of connection from defense into attacks.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Finally I lost my connection to my linux.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Tell he didn't lose the connection with our coach. This
is the coach who's done everything in the game. She's
talking the sidelines and she's not happy. If you listen carefully,
you can hear Evon Willering, our coach, hassling Tony.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
Listen, Street holds the sideline.
Speaker 14 (10:24):
Do you know what that was?
Speaker 1 (10:27):
That was going easy on me? I've been I've been
with Evon for this entire Napule season. She's tapped and
helping with me with my team, and half the time
she looks at me like, what are you doing and
then she tells me and it's I just love her
straight shirt.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Do you know one of my favorite moments of the
night is watching Kirk Penny, you know, someone that's led
the way in basket internationally, hanging off who every were.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
Such a good photo? Kok was like, I know where
to get my info. It's not from Tony and Sam.
Speaker 6 (10:53):
If you go to Coast Breakfast on Facebook, the link
is still that you can actually watch the game, just
the Coast Breakfast on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Coasts Feel Good Breakfast catch Up podcast with Tony Street,
Jas Reeves and Sam Wallace.
Speaker 7 (11:08):
If you've got a.
Speaker 6 (11:08):
Dead or a father figure in your world, there's pressure
because this Sunday is actually Father's Day.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
It's crep.
Speaker 13 (11:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I feel like, tell us if it's the same in
your world. But there hasn't been a bit of much
hoopler about it. And I don't know whether it's because
we've had the Olympics and now it's the America's Cup
and I mean we've been consumed with the Coast Invitational
nipple match here we have, but I'm sitting here going
what are we doing this?
Speaker 12 (11:35):
That's the wonderful thing.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
About being a father, who know you don't have to
do anything. You sit back and don't know what to happen.
Speaker 7 (11:40):
You think that, but you've also got a.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Dad that'll be serious job as well, wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
So her father?
Speaker 6 (11:49):
Yes, But when you look back, I mean, obviously you
know there's someone in your world or if you don't
have someone to celebrate this week, and hopefully when you
think of that person it makes you smile.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
Maybe, But you know when it comes to father said
do you do? You know what you're doing? Eat Sam?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Yeah, and it was It's been no planning of my own.
My wife is organized catch up with a few of
my friends.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
And said what do you want? And I said I
don't know, And then she said would you like a
new pair of shoes? And I said yes?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
And then she took the website over to me and
I just box and selected the shoe and they will
hopefully arrive on time.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
It's really good planning in advance.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
That'solutely good.
Speaker 5 (12:23):
What have you asked for an ordered?
Speaker 7 (12:24):
I haven't asked for.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Anything, to be honest, but I mean I am lucky enough. Again,
our wives have arranged this to me and my best
made of catching up this weekend in total, so we
get to catch up and have and we.
Speaker 7 (12:32):
Both got kids ourselves. We're both the ads, will be
surrounded by our families and we get to catch up ourselves.
Speaker 13 (12:36):
You're on a trip, Jason, on a road trip this
weekend yet.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
But I'll tell you what.
Speaker 6 (12:39):
There's something that I quite enjoy I've not said drinking
right back, but there's a there's a thing. This is
not an ad, by the way, It's a peanut butter whiskey.
It's called sheep talk.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
And what I've done is I've taken the limits of
bringing them for you, guys.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
Is what I thought to celebrate our success last night
at the Coast Invitational xperence match.
Speaker 7 (12:54):
And this is the This is the peanut.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Cheers to us, Cheers to all the fathers, Cheers to
the We're not scolling though, we were just going to wait.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
This is a delicious whisky.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Do you know with a peanut butter it almost takes
it and to butterscotch.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Territory, doesn't it does.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
It's really warming the coffles of my soul.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
This would be a good present for anyone. Actually, that's
exactly what saying.
Speaker 13 (13:13):
Why do we get the sheep dog rom any good Bottlestill.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Okay, you can use Jason's code.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I hope you got a chance to look at the
Coast Breakfast Facebook page last night, and if you haven't yet,
go there because the entire Coast Invitational versus the ex
Ferns is there, and we just had the most heartwarming night.
The silver ferns were amazing still the Coast Invitational held
there own.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
We had, we had no place keeping up them for
a little bit, and we did for a little bit.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
We just had the best night of our lives.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
And I tell you what, from the moment I saw
the Exela ferns, and we're talking big names like a
Dean Wilson, Anna Stanley, Anna Harrison, Linda farg and our
Bernice Mini. From the moment I saw them all dressed
in their black I felt intimidated. And I tell you what,
they were looking good from the very start with the adrill.
I think you'll be exceptionally kind, because it certainly does
not feel that way. I can't even remember the drills
(14:06):
that you'd think when you did these drills every day
for ten years, you remember them.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
But I'm no burn.
Speaker 13 (14:11):
I keep forgetting.
Speaker 7 (14:12):
It's so much change of direction. Man, it's very slow.
What's going through your mind right about now? Before the
opening whistle, Wow, Annie said we just need to win.
I thought we should just get through the game. Man
and Joe.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Yeah, survive was my word as well. Just survive, no injuries.
Don't embarrass myself too.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
Much later they think embarrassed themselves. That's a Dean Wilson
and Berniemony both former Cantons, and I also just say
the word two injuries, one on each team. Paula Griffin
X silverfon shooter, She's blown the calf and I've torn
the top of life.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
So so if I was a key word, though, wasn't it?
I mean I was six minutes into the first quarter.
I was like, I'm not going to make the end
of this game.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
It was fitness wise.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Whose idea was it to go fourteen minute quarters?
Speaker 4 (14:54):
As a No, I just think that was her evil
plan because seriously, what we needed was to a and halfs.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
That would have been But at halftime, what I did
is I crossed the court and I went caught up
with the experienced coach Leoni Leave and got her thoughts.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
At halftime, you have come back.
Speaker 10 (15:10):
Coast teams come back quite well, so we're just discussing
what we do next because the streetining is very strong,
and then I'm missing Tony Street's doing some very shit,
had some very good passes and wing a tack into
the circle strong.
Speaker 13 (15:23):
She looks straight in.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
I'm hearing the word worried. Are you worried?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah, yeah, we are worried.
Speaker 10 (15:28):
We're are quite about what fifteenth before I got the
other way?
Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah, they were about fifteen, but we did pull it
back to three points and we had a contest on
her hand.
Speaker 7 (15:37):
Well, we really did it.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
And again, if you've missed anything and you want to
see it, the link is still there. If you've got
to Facebook and look for Coast Breakfast, you will see
everything just there. Let's roll the dice for the chases,
and then we need to make a quick phone call ourselves.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Okay, let's just see. Don't get me while I'm down.
I've got I'm mighty with calf.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
On coast calf injuries from last night's nipball.
Speaker 5 (15:57):
That's unfair. You went on a roll around page now
on rampaging?
Speaker 7 (16:01):
Is it you a giar?
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Congratulations?
Speaker 6 (16:04):
All right, now don't call just yet, but in the
second will tell you me to call. You will take
on Tony Street for the Chasers. The reason we don't
need you to call just yet, it's because we need
to get a phone line out.
Speaker 7 (16:11):
You could be feeling good in Fiji with coast.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
Okay, so Fiji, think about it's only like four hours
from Wellington or crist you it's only three hours from
Auckland and I'll tell you what it is, the place
where happiness comes alive. So again, do ring us just
yet for the chasers, I'll tell you what to call
them six because we need to make till our phone
lines are free so we can make a phone call.
Because if we start ringing your phone right now, you
have to answer with an eight rings or we have
to move on to the next person.
Speaker 7 (16:41):
Are we ready?
Speaker 12 (16:43):
Ready?
Speaker 7 (16:43):
Say ready mate?
Speaker 14 (16:46):
For a while? Look you're speaking Hello Jenny.
Speaker 3 (16:57):

Speaker 14 (16:59):

Speaker 4 (17:00):

good morning bhye.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
And we were just wondering if you've got a passport.
Speaker 14 (17:08):
I have got a passport.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Would you like to hear the good news?
Speaker 7 (17:11):
I would love to hear the good news.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
You are going to be the star of a Tourism
Fiji video shot by me. Are you ready to come
to Fiji with me?
Speaker 14 (17:19):

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Congratulations mate, you are our winner.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
We've had so many entrants into this competition and you
have taken it out.
Speaker 14 (17:29):
Oh it is so fantastic. I'm so excited.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Are you afraid of a camera?
Speaker 14 (17:34):
Ah?
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Maybe a little bit. We'll ease you into that.
Speaker 7 (17:39):
Have you been to Fiji before, Danielle?
Speaker 5 (17:40):
I have, so you know how wonderful that place is.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
What are you most looking forward to about this trip
apart from going with your your happiness coach Sam.
Speaker 14 (17:49):
Of course, of course, my happiness coach.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Son.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
Yeah, we're all hanging out for that at the moment.
Speaker 14 (17:57):
Hanging out with sunshine.
Speaker 7 (17:58):
What sort of stuff did you do in Fiji last
time you were there?
Speaker 14 (18:01):
And we'll deal with the kids. So we did, like
the boys went wakeboarding and we went snorkling of the reef,
cocktails of course, yes, all the good things, good things
for a little cruise.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Yeah, it's awesome. Well, are we going to be doing
jet boating at the Sigatoka River.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
We're going to be doing a saber sailing day and
going out to a sand key we're going to be snorking,
We're going to be dining at fish and I think
this is the one you're going to love the most.
We're going to have a spa treatment at the Intercontinental.

Speaker 13 (21:37):

Speaker 7 (21:41):
Later you've got to try and read it too.
Speaker 13 (21:43):

Speaker 7 (22:35):
No, it's the hand.
Speaker 13 (22:36):
Apparently you capitate would think the head, right, it's on

you very much for playing. We now played for five
hundred dollars On Monday.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
Your daily feel good breakfast catch up podcast with Coasts
Tony Jason, Sam.
Speaker 7 (22:54):
We've got to.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
Smile across our faces because we've been hanging out all
morning to tell you about this someone is coming to
New Zealand.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
They first came here in nineteen eighty four as the
support act for the police.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
Then this person came back in nineteen ninety two head
learning their own world tour. Then they've come back in
ninety seven, two thousand and three to thirteen a couple
of times since then. We are talking about a man
who can go from beautiful sounds to rock anthems.
Speaker 7 (23:27):
Follow your best chess till cattle never be. It's just
coming where sixty nine Wow.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
We started.
Speaker 14 (23:48):
It's like a knife, but a few sorry.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Less you can.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Love.
Speaker 14 (24:19):
You know, it's true.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
Everything, dude.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
And if you're not thinking of robinhood when you listen
to that, I do not know what you are. Prince
of Thieves. That was one of my first cassette tapes,
so you've had.
Speaker 7 (24:41):
To that concept has to be Nicks.
Speaker 6 (24:43):
February has unlusa unleash. He is so happy it hurts
too in christ Church and Aukland. So Saturday the first
e Febrie at Wolfbrook Arena in christ Church, then Tuesday
the fourth Epebri a.
Speaker 7 (24:52):
Spark Arena in Auckland.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
Tickets going sound next week in All the details, including
pre sales, are on our website right now Coast online,
dot co, dot ins.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
We need to talk about Tony Street's big spender now
because we have some knowledge, but we can't exactly tell
you all of it that we have the destination for
this year. First of all, it's coming back, folks, So
ten thousand dollars to spend in a luxury destination and
this has just been a beast this competition.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
It started in New Market where we took Julie.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
New Market to do a ten thousand dollars shopping spree,
and then we elevated it one further.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
And at that point you're kind of thinking, well, ten
thousand dollars just to go shopping a New market's a
wonderful prize.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
But we elevated and we decided we take big spender.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
To Hawaii and we did Sophia and her family there
and again ten thousand dollars talking to the outlet shopping
in Hawaii, which is phenomenal.
Speaker 7 (25:43):
I mean, last year we took another step further.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
We went Hawaii. Why stop there? Why not add the
bright lights of Las Vegas. So we shopped in two destinations,
one at the beach and another with the casino lights shining.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
What would you say, though, if we said we'd elevated
it again and it's bigger and better than ever before.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, how was that possible?
Speaker 13 (26:04):
But it is it is.
Speaker 7 (26:06):
Two out of three of us have been there. One
of the people in this room have never been place.
Speaker 13 (26:10):
What do you think it is?
Speaker 5 (26:11):
We're going to tell you on Monday.
Speaker 7 (26:14):
We've been so careful we can't say too much at
the moment, but it is massive. It is honestly as
big as it gets.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
We can't even give you a clue right now because
we need you to hang on this over the weekend.
But if you think you know where we're going, that
we think is a bigger, better destination for shopping than
Las Vegas two six nine nine on the text, where
do you think we could be taking you?
Speaker 5 (26:34):
My friend?
Speaker 3 (26:35):
I'm calling it the biggest best prize in radio.
Speaker 13 (26:36):
I think it is.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
It's right up there on you know we're frothing to
go there, that it's a big deal.
Speaker 6 (26:42):
Can I just say also, I'm very proud of the
three of us right, and none of us have let
it slap.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Sorry I was expecting Sam too.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
He still might.
Speaker 14 (26:49):
He's just.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Seeing it takes to two sixth nine. No, where do
you think it is? Well, I promise you you'll know
this time on Monday where you could be going.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
There was a sweet little mystery that we got within
ten points of the expoons last night and this charity
nipple match.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
But after it was all said and done, after that.
Speaker 6 (27:14):
Final whistle went I went and caught up with a
couple of our team members from the Coast Invitational, Dame
Lisa Carrington and Porsha Woodman. That was so cool.
Speaker 7 (27:22):
That's the end of the game. Well, congratulations, all the
hell of a game. Porsha hate feeling now, Oh bug it.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
It's a bit more than what we expected by I
loved it.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
He's a hate feeling.
Speaker 13 (27:29):
Yeah, it was awesome.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
I didn't even realize how hard I was working. I
definitely needed a break.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
I noticed, though, Porsche, you unleashed the bounce pass a
few times.
Speaker 7 (27:37):
Or dim I tell you.
Speaker 13 (27:38):
I know they're not expecting the bout time.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
So another game you reckon?
Speaker 13 (27:44):
Oh yeah, totally, just go a game.
Speaker 5 (27:45):
Yeah, this isn't about a week's Yeah.
Speaker 7 (27:48):
So cool and our incomparable cut a coach. This is
the one who's done everything in that ball and we.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Were terrified of her for good reason. She nearly caughked
us in the warm up.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
She went so hard with it. Eyvonne Willery, I was
nervous before the start of the game.
Speaker 9 (28:02):
I'm not even involved in the game, but honestly, it
wasn't it brilliant. We did quite a long warm up
and they sort of recommended that stage we stop it
before we getart it, you know, you.
Speaker 13 (28:14):
Take it second quarter onwards. I thought we weren't just competitive.
Speaker 9 (28:17):
I thought it was really good the way that everyone
came to the fore.
Speaker 7 (28:21):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
I spoke to a couple of experience afterwards, and they
admitted we pushed them. We pushed them hard. They weren't
expecting that.
Speaker 9 (28:27):
Yeah, And you could see when they changed back into
their normal positions, and I thought, we've got them, We've
got them right now.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
The beautiful thing I loved about that is when that happened,
you started yelling booth.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Nothing like being competitive.
Speaker 7 (28:39):
I know you are such a legend. We cannot thank
you enough.
Speaker 9 (28:42):
That's pleasure. But it was also interesting because a number
of the players, obviously and the other team I've coached
in the past, and when Linda and Bernie got together
in the circle, that's a combination I had in the
Silver Ferns that honestly, it brought back memories and then going,
hang on a minute, you're not on my team, so
back to focus of my own. But I love the
way you have different sports, whether it was individual sports
(29:02):
or whether you know they played in the team sport.
How they just tried out on court and that's what
sports people about. But you could tell the people that
love to.
Speaker 6 (29:11):
Win, there was no backing office over the way look
in their eye, and I.
Speaker 7 (29:15):
Must say it was in your right too.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
We were ferocious, we had to be.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
And a surprising person who's actually played a bit of
nipple himself an ambassador for the Cancer Society day die
he would.
Speaker 8 (29:26):
Yes, I've spent quite a few seasons playing a bit
of netble, mainly indoor netble, because see, the thing is
I go for People don't think I'm a threat because
I'm coming in at five and a half foot, right,
but have you ever seen a cat climber curtain.
Speaker 7 (29:43):
On an Irene Van Dyke? I'm up.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Well, thank you for signing up for the Invitational for
next year.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
That's really kind of you.
Speaker 8 (29:50):
And also I'm in because when you're shooting from Alma,
you know, Jase, you you're pushing the bounce pass.
Speaker 7 (29:57):
That's all I'm doing. No one sees it coming by,
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
When it doesn't go to another player.
Speaker 7 (30:02):
Ajmaller.
Speaker 8 (30:03):
People really struggle with a smaller a smaller guy on
the court, that's right, I've got I do have to
shrink my bb in the dryer before I charted a.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
Game, but otherwise anyway, so he would here because of
course there's Tony said, it is deafit all day today.
Speaker 7 (30:19):
You yourself have been on a hell of a journey.
How are you at the moment?
Speaker 8 (30:22):
It's This has actually been the toughest year of my
sort of cancer journey so far. Last year was all
about I sort of did this book that I was
in to chat about, and I've done I've done a
three part docco that's coming out in a month or so,
and then this year has actually been all about treatment.
Speaker 7 (30:40):
I've had three months of chemo.
Speaker 8 (30:42):
Then I had a tuman that sort of closed off
a bit of my lung and that collapsed, so I
had radiation. Then I'm going to be back into chemo.
But I'm fine and smiles along the way, and I'm
having great times with my family and with my friends.
But it's a reminder of how important things like the
Cancer Society are because I lean on them. They provide therapy,
(31:06):
which is huge not only for the patient but for
the family who's going through it. If you've got a
partner who's who's got someone who's got cancer and they're
dealing with kids, and that they can talk to a
therapist who the Cancer Society provide the therapist.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Because you've robbed of a lot of money, you're robbed
of time.
Speaker 8 (31:27):
So donating to the Cancer Society is awesome because they
get the money, AMZ do the back end of it.
So it's a crucial, crucial support system providing accommodation for
people outside of Auckland.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
And it's important because so many young people are dealing
with this.
Speaker 7 (31:46):
It freaks me out.
Speaker 8 (31:47):
I've got bowel cancer, which is considered an older person's disease.
All I've met is people in their forties, people in
their thirties.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
We just keep hearing this.
Speaker 8 (31:57):
People who are I met someone the other day marathon
runner has been a vegan their entire life, juices their
face off.
Speaker 7 (32:05):
Prime physical condition.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Doesn't discriminate no, So that's the thing.
Speaker 8 (32:09):
It's not just for people who have been smoking SIGs
and drinking beers. That effects so many people. You look
at the stats, New Zealand and Australia are overrepresented in
cancer rates. A lot of that probably comes down to
skin cancer elements. Just because we're such a sunny country,
(32:30):
but it affects us all and places like the Can
Society that are doing the hard mahte they're worth donating to.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, we's going to keep getting those donations in.
Speaker 6 (32:40):
That's exactly right. So we've actually set up an A
and Z donation station today. So Coast is coming to
you on iHeartRadio right well from about our states in
a couple of minutes from now. And we've got performances
throughout the day too, like John Toogod from She has
going to be there, Joel from lab is going to
be there and give us. So far, do you know
how much we've raised it so far total? Just have
a fifty five thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
We've only just started Daffield Day. So what you can
do right now is text the words support to two
zero six. We can head to daffitel Day dot org
dot MZ for a bigger donation.
Speaker 6 (33:09):
Diane would thank you very much and thank you so
much on a very personal level for sharing that such
a personal story too.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
And we'll see on the courtney we.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Have some thank yous we need to make now for
this Coast Invitational Netball game, because on top of the
amazing players that we wrote in, Martin Guptel, Kirkpenny, Kelly
co Porsha Woodman, David Leaky, Dame Lisa Carrington.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
I'm not just gonna call it Lisa because we're.
Speaker 13 (33:33):
Got a Dame.
Speaker 5 (33:34):
Evon Willarding was our coach.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
We had the only Leaver coaching the Ferns with Kiddie Wills,
Adean Wilson, Anna Stanley, Anna Harrison, Bernice Mene, Sulu Fitzpatrick,
Paula Griffin. And let's not forget the people that also
came to the party in a big way in terms
of the adjudicating. Jenny Woods and Andrew Ordison were our commentators.
Jenny Peak and Jill Hayman were our two umpires. That
(33:56):
text in the station said.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
We're here to help.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Georgia Tree from sport Fit Studios took the amazing professional photos.
Hamous Craighead from TBI Physio Hatter's work cut out and
he will next week when I go and see him
from so thank you so much for that. And also
I just want to give a shout out to North
Harbor Nitball who gave us the venue last night. Not
only that, but they whizzed around and They got a
(34:19):
beautiful knitbull signed by all of the players that were
there that we're going to auction off for daffit all day.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
It just created such a surreal environment.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
There was a moment there when Evan Willering was coaching
us and I looked over and I laughed because I was.
Speaker 7 (34:30):
Like, this is bizarre.
Speaker 12 (34:31):
I know this.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Walking up and down the court, and Jinny Wood's the
voice of Nipple, said, look at that Yvonne back in
her elements. She's talking the sideline with a face like thunder,
and she was just delightful, like you're terrified, but then
she hugged you. And if you've missed any thing and
you want to see the game, if you want to
watch it again, there's a link on Facebook right now,
but you've got to go to Coast Freakquence and find
that link.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
You'll see the live stream that it's still up for
you can watch it.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Just a few more thank you's.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
First of all, thank you to Mikayl Norris who all
it helped us organize a lot of it. Our boss,
David Bryce Free from our website team was there, Jade,
thank you all so much. At Jason Sam big Man
Power from both of you, Jason the DJ dex but
also getting the all the interviews and Sammy on court.
What a weapon basketball shone through.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
I tell you what's ready. Your bullet passes into Kirkpenny.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
I was envy yourself of them, my friend, and your
ability to conjure up these amazing people to make this
vent happen with our journals.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
There was a moment in the commentary you hear Genny
would say it's the power of Tony Street's contact book.
Speaker 7 (35:31):
I thought, Jenny, that could be the call of a night,
to be honest, but it's so much.
Speaker 6 (35:35):
Fun and again, watch it on Facebook right now.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
