media last night. You may have heard Bran mentioned it
in the news just a couple of minutes ago. Nigel Latter,
you know, the beloved TV show psychologist. He came out
last night and says he's been told he's got cancer.

She said it's probably cancer. Now.
Speaker 7 (00:53):
That was that was not a great moment, right, because
these things happen to other people. That's how are you
always going to think? I said, okay, so just give
me a number, like how long, right, because that's what
you want to know. And he said six to twelve months.
I just stood there feeling completely and utterly paralyzed. It
was a very strange feeling started chemotherapy. That was you know,

the first one was kind of scary because you don't
know what it's about. So I've done four rounds of
chemos so far, and chemo's are.

It's a fun old time.
Speaker 7 (01:26):
I don't choose to get this, but I can choose
how to respond to that. And what I've chosen to
do is just to be kind to the people around
me and to do everything I can to kind of
make it easy full of people around me. If you're
feeling real stressed and real dowb do something kind for
other people. It just makes you feel so much better. Yeah,
a bit of a downer, sorry about that, but lots
to be positive about. You'll be thinking, because I would

think this, I'm glad I'm not in And that's fine.
I'm glad you're not me. I wouldn't if someone said
you could offload this to someone else, you know, I
wouldn't do that, Like this isn't mine. I'll carry these rocks.

Markable Man, Yeah, I know, and he's you know, he's
at the real start of this journey. He's only four
months in at this point. But one of the things
I liked about what he said last night was you know,
he's been putting into practice what he has been preaching
for a long time as a psychologist. And the number, well,
there were two big takeaways that I took from it
was one, how you react is the only thing you

can control. You can't control you've got the cancer, but
you can control how you react. And the second thing
was he's getting a lot of joy from because everyone
wants to do stuff for him at the moment because
he's the sick one. He's getting his joy from being
kind to other people. Everything that he's been doing, little
things like, you know, being really kind to his oncology
nurse because she's a wonderful person.

He said. Every time he does that, it gives him
a bit of a boost.

And I get that taking the OUs off yourself too.
Speaker 9 (02:47):
He's got all the tools, doesn't he, but got I'm
dealing with those those raw emotions.

He dignosis at least two kids as well. Kids it's
only been married for six months, second.

One, and your wife's got three children's I was with
five combined children.

Yeah, that's right.

So anyway, and we wish to go saying wishable very
very best, and he's going to keep us updated on
social media about this as well as his journey for
so far. But as he's as he's saying, he said,
the came chemotherapy. So far, so far it seems to
shrinking history. Yeah, so fingers crossed day.

the yard.

that about Nigel Letter anyway, but in this moment especially.

And he said all he felt was a fullness in
the back of his throat and that's what made him
go to his GP.

Yeah, a powerful mindset, isn't it.

And it just shows you that you know, these psychologists,
they did develop these skills to try and lighten the
load on people. And you can literally see those tools
working for him right there, can't you.

Oh yeah, but it must be. It must be awful.

And it actually reminds me of doctor Lucy Hone who
was also a psychologist, and she studied it for years
and years and years, and then her daughter died in
a car accident and then she had to practice what
she preached and actually try and go are these tools
actually working? It's horrible that they have to endure this.
He only got married Nigel Letter six months ago to
his new wife.

Awful as sid and he's just one of life's greats,
isn't he?

He really is.

But the treatment is actually working well for her. It's
it's made the cancer disappear from his lymph nodes and
it's shrunk in the tumor which is.

In his stomach.

So six months to one year, you know, who knows.
But he's going to keep us posted across this as well.
So it goes without saying our thoughts in I love
with Nigel and his family.

down at sea level and in Cape Town we get
tremendous support, particularly from the Cape Kelts have always supported

better and I like the team changes too.

most about it?

I think they've well, the first thing is they've they've
brought a bit of youth in the in the in
Ratama and of course the TT. But also they've strengthened
the bench, and I think that was a point of weakness.
Last week We're the box got a lot of impetus
out of the bomb squad. We didn't really get a
lot out of our reserve bench. And I think when

you look at it now, there's real impact and the
likes of Bowden, Barrett and TJ. Pettinara Antonine and Brown
the sort of bloke. So I'm feeling a lot happy
about the balance of the team.

Putting what I mean, most people would would say Boden
Barrett's one of our best backs. He's not going to
be potentially on the field for a large chunk of

but I think that probably we've played our best rugby
in the last couple of years when Boden has come
off the bench. I think I think Will Jordan is
made to be a fullback. It's only a second of
a start in the fullback role, and I think we're
seeing him with the Crusaders over the years. He's a

very very good fullback and I just like the balance.

The only thing is though, you've got a very confident

You may have seen this in the rounds on social
media last night. You may have heard Bran mentioned it
in the news just a couple of minutes ago. Nigel Latter,
you know, the beloved TV show psychologist. He came out
last night and says he's been told he's got cancer.
Speaker 6 (00:48):
She said it's probably cancer. Now.
Speaker 7 (00:53):
That was that was not a great moment, right, because
these things happen to other people. That's how are you
always going to think? I said, okay, so just give
me a number, like how long, right, because that's what
you want to know. And he said six to twelve months.
I just stood there feeling completely and utterly paralyzed. It
was a very strange feeling started chemotherapy. That was you know,
(01:15):
the first one was kind of scary because you don't
know what it's about. So I've done four rounds of
chemos so far, and chemo's are.
Speaker 6 (01:23):
It's a fun old time.
Speaker 7 (01:26):
I don't choose to get this, but I can choose
how to respond to that. And what I've chosen to
do is just to be kind to the people around
me and to do everything I can to kind of
make it easy full of people around me. If you're
feeling real stressed and real dowb do something kind for
other people. It just makes you feel so much better. Yeah,
a bit of a downer, sorry about that, but lots
to be positive about. You'll be thinking, because I would

think this, I'm glad I'm not in And that's fine.
I'm glad you're not me. I wouldn't if someone said
you could offload this to someone else, you know, I
wouldn't do that, Like this isn't mine. I'll carry these rocks.

Markable Man, Yeah, I know, and he's you know, he's
at the real start of this journey. He's only four
months in at this point. But one of the things
I liked about what he said last night was you know,
he's been putting into practice what he has been preaching
for a long time as a psychologist. And the number, well,
there were two big takeaways that I took from it
was one, how you react is the only thing you

can control. You can't control you've got the cancer, but
you can control how you react. And the second thing
was he's getting a lot of joy from because everyone
wants to do stuff for him at the moment because
he's the sick one. He's getting his joy from being
kind to other people. Everything that he's been doing, little
things like, you know, being really kind to his oncology
nurse because she's a wonderful person.
Speaker 8 (02:41):
He said. Every time he does that, it gives him
a bit of a boost.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And I get that taking the OUs off yourself too.
Speaker 9 (02:47):
He's got all the tools, doesn't he, but got I'm
dealing with those those raw emotions.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
He dignosis at least two kids as well. Kids it's
only been married for six months, second.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
One, and your wife's got three children's I was with
five combined children.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
So anyway, and we wish to go saying wishable very
very best, and he's going to keep us updated on
social media about this as well as his journey for
so far. But as he's as he's saying, he said,
the came chemotherapy. So far, so far it seems to
shrinking history. Yeah, so fingers crossed day.

Right now there, it's time for Sam's week. News weekly

We stopped correcting them because our boss has given us

as irresponsible after revealing she refused chemotherapy for breast cancer
and opted for what she called a holistic approach.

A holistic approach that also included surgeons removing the tumor,
which doesn't really sound completely holistic to me?

Does that what happened?

They are a surgeon involved, they removed the tumor.

Yeah, I hope people don't take like that is the
way forward.

It's a big, big platform to be preaching that from it,
and the penalty for misusing disability parks jumps to seven

G I Joe's, there's some g I Joe's, but there
was one was a toy that went to a movie.

Know that the car from Jukes hesitant ever got the
General But what I did have is the Bojuke doll

That ear carrier would be the same as getting a

What I was afforded to was I had to colleck
the g I Joe cards and then you'd send away
and then you'd get back a G I Joe figurine
with a parachute.

Oh wow, and the parachute would open up. But those
are the freebies.

I know this wasn't from a movie, but you would
have definitely been into the basketball NBA carts.

if you got the special car, but no one ever

decidab'll cash on on this. So they released limited edition
dollar buck coins and Honestly, adults were lining up for
hours outside when they went on, see adults want them?

Bluey is massive and so they finally get their hands

And how some of these adults are by selling these
one dollar coins for two hundred and fifty bucks on Australia.

at the moment.

Released the dollar bucks from blue the TV show there,
and so people were lining up outside to try and
buy these one dollar coins, these limited edition one dollar coins.
Now they're selling them online for like two hundred and
fifty bucks dollar bucks each and people are lining up
for them.

Dollar bucks is such a good work. Dollar I used
to call it paper money. Paper I only wanted paper
money the goldens.

I wanted to pay per So that what was the
TV or screen merch you had when you were growing up, Oh.

a bubble gum and a packet.

the hot item when I was growing up.

you're growing up?

I remember one Christmas, I got a Chips radio for
my bike, might be a mixed bike and cool CB
radio and the sirens and they got a helmet and
a bed and a T shirt. I had the helmets,
got the old as on and I was zooming around
the yard.

It's so cool.

I love that.

One of my friends had the tips and T shirt
like a police uniform ship. It was a T shirt
one of their sober But I have a helmet. The
helmet was Koway Warwick.

All the sirens worked and you could talk through the
CB radio.

And it just shows you that you know, these psychologists,
they did develop these skills to try and lighten the
load on people. And you can literally see those tools
working for him right there, can't you.

in the last couple of years when Boden has come
off the bench. I think I think Will Jordan is
made to be a fullback. It's only a second of

seeing him with the Crusaders over the years. He's a
