Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, all right, all right, Yes, indeed you are
the author of your story, of your journal. In this journal,
you will get to know yourself better. And who better
to get to know?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Guy Fawkes. I know, controversial to start. I understand why
you hate it. I hate it too well. I did
last year and the year before. It terrified my cat,
and it meant that my two young babies were up
all night screaming.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
What You're such a turn cob, and it suits.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I am the author of my general and my story.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
You are the author.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Nothing like trying to settle to babies well living in
a war zone. But since then my cat has died
and my kids are a bit older, and you can't
deny this magic. The face of a three year the
face of a three year old holding a sparkler, or
the joy in my five year old's eyes when he
lit his first firework and ran away to stand back
and proudly watch it launch of the sky and explode color.
(01:00):
I know why it's miserable for so many, it's also
magnificent for others. Fireworks give us joy, especially when we
are kids. So who are we to take that from
the next generation? We often say, kids, these days don't
know how to have fun, so go and let them.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
If anyone ever comes and sees yourself serving.
Speaker 5 (01:18):
I won't get my journal.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Sixteenth of June nineteen eighty four, I was eight years old,
running around the sports fields of Hastings, bere feet and
orange peel in my mouth for a mouth guard and
a head full of dreams. On that same day, in
christ Church, a seasoned broadcaster I could only ever hope
to be was fulfilling his dream for the first time.
The All Blacks unleashed their Harker to face the French,
and up in the commentary box, the red light lit up,
the microphones went on. In the dulcet tone of Grant
(01:44):
Wallace Knisbert welcomed viewers to the game. It was the
first time we'd heard what was to become the voice
of rugby. The ABS went on to win that day,
but as a young All Blacks fan, I felt like
we all won. Nisbo had arrived, and over the years,
whenever you hear that reassuring, smooth, captive adding authoritive tone
like a voice cloaked and velvet, you knew what you
were getting.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
The very best we shared with every We shared with
every and when we needed it, if we'd accidentally lost,
whether it was to the referee or if the other
team was actually better on the day, we got the
soothing comfort of Nisbo telling us he can make the
confusing seem comprehensible.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
And the players and their families love them because he
always is respectful when calling the names and the facts.
And tomorrow morning, when the All Blacks face that grudge
match against Ireland that we've all been waiting for, it'll
be the three hundred and fiftieth All Blacks game that
Grant Nisbet will call Nisbo once again, will bring the
game to our ears, and whatever happens after that final whistle,
Nisbo will be right there for us. And for that,
(02:46):
I'm thankful, amazing what a man. Love his voice.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
It's comforting, It's like a blanket.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I'm are so impressed that Jason's in a monologue has
audio sound breaks to do that.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Yeah, what do you think of the die? The end?
I'm thinking I'm going to.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
Remember that we have an interactive We're a new age journal.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
We get.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Dear journal is an attitude everything. When it comes to
how you feel about certain stages of the year, you
can often choose your mood even on days when things
aren't going particularly well for you. And I think we
should all be considering this as we head into the
silly season. And yes, we are hurtling towards mid November,
which means Christmas is just around the corner. Sorry to
disturb those of you that don't want it to be.
(03:32):
I feel like there are two types of people at
this time of year. Type one sounds a bit like this, Oh,
I haven't even thought about Christmas. I'm just not ready.
What's wrong with you putting up your decorations now? It's
far too early. I've got so much to do, just
so super busy, don't have enough time, so much going
on at work at school, haven't even thought about what
we're doing on Christmas Day. And all of those things
(03:53):
might be true, to be fair, but there is a
second type of person that we could all actually be
if we just changed our mind set. How about how
exciting It's only six weeks until Christmas. It's such a
wonderful time of year. Even though it's busy, it's kind
of fun because it means Christmas party, Secret Center's fun,
Christmas music, more opportunities to catch up with our mates, barbecues,
(04:15):
nicer weather to go swimming at the beach, and although
it's going to be busy, that magical chaos is actually
all part of it. I don't know about you, but
I'm striving to be type number two.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Street is as always, So that's a li bit of
a snapshot.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Annoying positivity this morning on board.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
You cheated on your journal, but anyway, that's a bit
of a snapshot of our journals. Hopefull you g had
a nice week and either way your weekends even better.
