Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, all right, all right, Yes, indeed, you are
the author of your story, of your journal. In this journal,
you will get to know yourself better, and who better
to get.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
To know, dear general the chaos of the season. A
concert this week was lovely but didn't help we's sleep,
not to mention that, despite our best efforts, we have
two three year old sleeping in our bed at the moment.
Our five year old slipped over at athletics yesterday and
that produced a fair amount of disappointment. Jason, who loves
the countdown, reminds us of the rival of Christmas, and
Tony updates us with her decorating and her latest Christmas bark.

(00:37):
The pressure is on. Christmas parties are approaching, and as
much as I want to partake, I like to arrive
to summer looking like I've stepped off the cover of
a men's health magazine, not like the leaflet on cholesterol
in the doctor's waiting room.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Leave that to us. We gotcha.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
We are having Where are we having?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Christmas?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
What house? Who's there? And what are we bringing? Who's
getting what for the kids' presence? And what about the car?
Christmas is just over a month away, but I know
that if I don't start now, I'll turn up to
Christmas a disorganized, disappointing wreck. The only problem is right now,
all I want to do is have a sleep. Mary
November Everyone forty days on Christmas.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Do you have a pleenty of time? Hi, journal? I
like to prepare for things. I've heard some people say
that if you fail to prepare, they're prepare to fail,
and I think there's something in there. But I also
like to believe in being flexible when plans change or
you need to pivot, and sometimes it's good to keep
things interesting when life throws you the odd surprise. I've
always been a fan of Coldplay songs, but the thought
of going to one of their sold out shows thinking
also made me think of all sorts of excuses not to.

(01:36):
It was a school night, I get up at three
point thirty. The logistics of getting a babysit are getting
from my semi rural some might call it sprawling resorts
style homes to and from the wonderful Eaton Park, New
Zealand Stadium. It'll seemed a lot, but I remember how
much I love going to Eaton Park and how much
of a fan of Coldplay I am and encouraged by
my friends Tony and Sam. We made it a wonderful
team event, took our better halves and had the best time.

(01:56):
Song after song. I was swept up and the show
they put on was more amazing than anyone can tell you.
Sometimes the best lessons come from saying yes instead of
maybe next time, So embrace the unexpected and live fully
in the moment.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Jase, I love that and Coldplay was amazing And I
have actually got a pretty similar themed journal today, not
about cold Blaye, but about another event that we had
this week. Oh gosts its event season, isn't it? It
ain't gonna slow down? Oh dear journal. Gosh, it felt
cool to dress up this week for the races. I
was so impressed with the standard of dress and Canterbury.
The amount of effort everyone went to to assessize their

(02:27):
outfits was so impressive. The best Dressed winner, Gemma, went
to the extent that she painted both her bag and
her shoes to make sure she had the perfect shade
of pink to match her homemade dress. That is going
the extra mile and it wasn't massively expensive because it
was all diy and as Kiwi's I don't think we
really do the whole dressing up thing very often do we.
Don't get me wrong, I like our casual, laid back

(02:49):
nature for lots of things, but I do think we
could up our game just a wee bit when it
comes to special occasions. There still seems to be this
underlying feeling of not wanting to stand out too much,
not wanting to look showy or too left field. But
at the races, I didn't see that for once. I
saw individuality. I saw vibrant colors and lots and lots
of effort. We only have one life, one chance to

(03:11):
have fun, and I reckon we should do it more.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
No. Absolutely. The only catch that is, though, if me
and Jason go doo, we will stand out a.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
We stap of our weeks. Hopefully you've had a really
nice one on Either way, you're weak, it is even better.
Thanks for listening.
