Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey guys, welcome to episode three thirteen. It's our final
episode of On Time with Bobby Bones. John Party was on,
Nikita Carmen was on. John talks about meeting George Straight,
which is hilarious. It's real fun interview. So that's coming up.
But we always like to do the New Music Top five,
as we started off here, and at number five it
is boy named Banjo. They have a new EP called

(00:23):
Circles and here is the title track to that. At

(00:47):
number four, Chapel Heart released their album The Girls Are
Back in Town. Here's a clip of their song I
Will Follow matter what they say Away. At number three,
Ryan Heard announced his debut albums coming out in October.
He put out a new song from it called June
July and August Fade Like the silanzoiskin Ben July is

(01:18):
a thousand Sounds. Again. Moon put out his album Good Time.
Here's a new song from him called Dance with Me Darling,
Won't You Miss Me? I Want to be Them, Prone
in Come, Won't Take the Chance. And at number one,
Casey Musgraves has a new song out called star Crossed

(01:49):
and amusing news. Casey did an announce she's releasing his
studio album next month. It is called Star Crossed, and
they'll be that there'll be a little movie that comes
out with it. I'm curious to know how long the
movie is. Yeah, it like a three minute video or
is it like an hour long? I would assume like
a short film, like a twelve minute Yeah, yeah, I'm interested.
I'm there, I'm interested. Olivia Rodrigo adds paramore to songwriting credits.

(02:11):
I'm good for you. That's Olivia. Here's paramore, because you wonder.
She had previously added Taylor Swift and other code writers
to Deja Bu, which was you get Deja Bo and yeah,
Reba mcutire set. She was recovering from COVID. But now

(02:32):
she goes, I don't think I had COVID at all,
because they did when she got better, they gave her
an antibody check and she didn't have the COVID antibody,
So it's like, well, I got the vaccine. I guess
it wasn't COVID I had. It's kind of an odd story,
but if you didn't have antibodies, probably not COVID, you know. Yeah,
she thinks they're just like rs V R s V.
People didn't do that to my wedding and I don't know.

(02:53):
It's R s v P R s v P. Charlie
Watts passed away of the Rolling Stone a drummer from
the Rolling Stones, and I think that's it. Thank you
enjoyed this. This is the last episode we do have
the show. I really enjoyed doing the show, but we'd
like to play it back for year as well. I
hope you guys like it. What's happening to guys? Welcome

(03:13):
to the season finale of On Time with Bobby Bones,
where you will not want to miss the last ten
minutes of this show because we will kill off a
major character. That's right. Stay tuned to find out who
will meet their devise spoiler alert, It'll probably be Mike
d all Right, I'm your host, Bobby Bones this first
time watching. Thank you for being here. People tell me
I look like if Ryan Seacrest and Drew Carey had

(03:34):
a baby together, and I'm okay with that. The last
time that we hung out, I wasn't married. I've been
married since the last episode we did. One of the
first events that we went to as a married couple
was a charity dinner with the Governor of Arkansas and
the first lady it was super cool. I posted a
picture of my wife Caitlin and I together, and I'm
gonna read you a real comment that I got. It said,
any beautiful blonde walking in an eating establishment in Arkansas

(03:59):
will usually turn heads, especially when the other person is
not so hot. That's what they wrote. Now. I find
that offensive on multiple levels, but it is true. She's
far more attractive than I am. She looks like a
runway model, and I look like the type of guy
who gets arrested for looking in a runway models window. Um,
so thank you. Anyway. Stopped by the show tonight as

(04:21):
my friend John Party and new artist Nikita Carmen. We're
gonna play some games, will perform some music for us.
But before we get to all that, you already know
what we like to do. Let's kick it off with
the monologue. So quick and so easy, I call it
three jokes for the folks. Here we go. First up,
joke number one, Gary Lavox Rascal Flats has recently joined
Cameo and it's charging fans two hundred and twenty dollars

(04:42):
for a personalized video message. Looks like he's trying to
make some extra money after the group disbanded last year,
and turns out his residency in Vegas at Thunder down
Under did not seem to go as well as he
had hoped. Because I love Gary, He's a friend of mine,
He's saying at my wedding, But for two hundred and
twenty bucks, you better show up and a camouflage tuxedo
and sing me God bless the broken road until I
fall asleep at night with a couple of kisses on

(05:04):
the neck too. A new study has shown that heavy
drinking just six times a month reduces the chance a
new college graduate will land a job. The study found
that when you binge drink, you're altering your brain to
accept lower standards and be less ambitious. A study to
which the girls currently participating in Bama Rush replied challenge accepted.

(05:24):
You guys watch that you watch Bama Rush my on
TikTok and finally joke Number three, American kids are starting
to speak with Aussie accents after watching the TV show Bluey,
The popular Australian children's show about a cartoon family of
blue healers, is currently the number one trending show on
Disney Plus. Now, I too have a show on Disney Plus.
But the only side effect from watching my show is

(05:46):
that it may leave you with the direction lasting for
more than four hours. And if it does, please contact
your physician. Thank you very much. I just assume music
playing because I can't hear anything. Uh, those are your
three jokes for the folk. And as we've done almost
every episode, at first we check in and it's written
on the screen my fiance Caitlin. But it is not.

(06:08):
It is my wife. It is right there. She is.
She got a promotions, she got a promotion since her
last appearance here. I know when we were over at
the house, I had to beg you to come over
for the final episode. And I appreciate you showing up.
You're welcome. I just have a few questions for you.
I just wanted you to be here for this episode
because we we built this show together. Okay, you don't

(06:31):
think so if you could remove one item of clothing
from my wardrobe, what would that one item of clothing be?
I mean, I would think it would just need to
be a genre. Okay, what genre? I mean cut off.
So that's a nonstarter. We're not even gonna go there.
You wouldn't ever have a shirt on. If we removed

(06:53):
I'll cut on. I'm gonna say anything was like a
wacky cartoon, you know, because those are hard to match,
So so no wacky cartoon. Yeah, but I don't even
want to remove anything, right, So I had to put you.
I had to put you on the spot. You do
sometimes critique my nineties church lead work out closed because

(07:16):
that's what it looks like. I'm wearing nineties church lea basketball. Yeah,
I'm sure it's a little too big, shiny shiny. What
was the is it starter? A little starter? I don't have.
I don't have the starter stuff now, but I don't know.
But that's what is the number one band or artist
that you love that you think I just don't quite

(07:39):
get it. Number one bands or artists that I love
that you don't get that. You're just like I don't
think you quite under like for me and you, it's
counting crows. Yeah, I try to play it for you.
M M. You tell me. He sounds like a guy
just wanted like my dad, whining and looks worse than
my dad. So he and Adam Derart's fifty seven, my

(08:02):
dad's fifty eight, so about the same. Um let me
think one band. I mean, you get Harry Styles, who's
my everything? You can get Bieber, whom I love. Who
do you not get? I don't really know that there
is someone that you don't get. Who is the band?
The sixty nine? No idea we're talking about. You were

(08:25):
listening to me the other day and you're like, I
kill for this band. I would do. Who was it this? Micaels?
It's a number. It's some rock band you were listening
to as you were getting ready, and you were like,
I love that, Oh the nintevent nine. You don't get them? No,

(08:49):
I sure I've listened to them. I mean they're not
They're not even in my top but I do enjoy that.
I don't really like bands, I'm I don't. I think
I grew up probably after bands were a big deal.
Bands aren't really a big deal for me. We're about
the same age, yeah, but Mike like Punkah, I don't

(09:10):
like punk. So you also like music that's a little
bit older than us. Also true, you guys are the
same age. I think he's a little older than me.
I'm twenty nine. So Mike, would I be a sugar
daddy to you? And what's the last show you watched
and couldn't wait for the next episode, Cruel Summer? Is

(09:32):
that the one the Virgin River? When you're watching not
Virgin I watched one episode of Virgin River and didn't
like it six months ago. I don't even think I
told you about it. Stayed up in the queue for
a long time, probably because I never finished it. I
never cooked on it. Cruel Summer was amazing. And that's
the show where the girl gets locked in the spoiler alert?
What on earth? But it's the whole show. Isn't your

(09:53):
whole brand built on don't spoil shows? But it's the
whole show. I'm not saying I'm not saying what happened.
I'm just saying it's not the older You don't know
that in the beginning. All right, we'll cut this out.
Oh we're live. Do you think that telling someone that
a TV show or a movie that it has a
twist is a spoiler? Interesting? You're asking that. I wouldn't

(10:13):
have thought that until we actually were faced with this
with Eddie when we were watching something what I don't
even know what show it was. We were watching the
Nicole Kidman Show. Oh, and he's like, you'll never guess
who did know it's not the girl from Titanic, Yes,
And he said, you'll never guess who did it. And
so every time we would guess someone did it, we're like, well,

(10:34):
it can't be then, because right it's like the Bible
they say you'll never know when the end of times
are coming. So every time I'm like, the end of
times will be next week? Can't be then, you know,
because there's something you're looking forward to, Just be like, oh,
the end of times is going to be that day,
and then you're sure to make it because the end
of times won't come if you think it will. Did
that spoil Virgin River? I mean you kind of spoiled

(10:57):
a little bit of I'm sorry. I thought that was
what the first the first episode I watched, I don't.
I think you gave a little bit away. But that's okay.
Is anybody get me mad at me? I mean, I
just say sorry. What was the first concert you went
to Jackie Blaeska as Christian artist? What was the first
concert you bought tickets for the first concert? I bought
tickets for that? I actually that I probably asked my

(11:18):
parents know you you actually used your own money? It's
a really good question. I'm maybe Bruno Mars. What's the
lock screen picture on your phone? Um? Actually just changed
it home? You did from our wedding Oh it's a
new one. Different. We were dancing to Ronnie Dunne, but

(11:39):
I didn't want Ronnie to have our movement. Today. You know,
we did watch our our wedding video today. It's our
one month anniversary. That's right, everybody, thank you. That's right.
We've been together one month. That's right. Pretty cool. We
to celebrate, we had a piece of wedding cake. We
didn't get to eat our wedding cake the night of
the wedding because we're running around so much. So the
girl who made our cake what's the name of our company,

(12:02):
you know, cakes and cokes, And she made us a
new cake to eat today. So we ate a piece
of the cake, and then we watched our wedding video,
and then we gave affirmations. And then we gave affirmations.
You know what affirmations are? Might No, you gotta do
it with Kelsey. It's so sweet. Sometimes I'll be like,
you can say whatever you want, okay. Sometimes I'll be like,

(12:23):
I think you deserve some affirmations. He does it a lot, actually,
and then he'll just affirm me. And I just told
her the great things about her from that day or life.
And today I was like, this has been the greatest
month of my entire life. And I've had some pretty
good months, but this is still the greatest by far.
And I told her how not everybody gets to marry
the hottest person they've ever seen in their whole life.
And I'm talking about how funny she is, and I

(12:43):
just keep affirming and she likes it for some reason.
Really use it tomorrow. The difference in us though, as
I affirmed her a lot and she tries to affirm me,
but I always think she's lying. Yeah, well, I think
we I think we both I don't think you're lying,
but we both struggle with accepting compliments. Yeah, I think

(13:04):
you think I'm telling the truth. I don't think you're
telling the truth. But you know, because she's like, you're
the hottest, and I'm like, I'm like, I've seen me.
I got a mirror. Um, let's play a quick game
of this or that. Then you can go, okay, okay, beach,
beat your mountains, beach. I like both glasses or contacts glasses.

(13:31):
I mean I have to write like when I was
like first or contacts. It's like your brands. These are
newish glasses, though. Do you notice a frame difference? A
little more round and I think they look a little dopeier.
The other ones are a little straighter, and she likes
these more. What which do you prefer? I kind of

(13:53):
like those. I agree, And also should we mention that
the other style they actually do not make anymore. You
can't find it anymore. So we had to order these.
My dad's an optometrist, and so he hooked us up.
They probably don't make the other ones anymore because they're
so popular and they can't keep him on the shelf.
Isn't the host bath or shower shower? But I would

(14:15):
pick bath. That's correct. Ice cream cone or snow cone?
Ice cream cone while walking? Music or podcasts, podcasts? Football
or basketball depends um college football, professional basketball, Oklahoma football,

(14:35):
Oklahoma City thunder basketball. What's worse? Laundry or dishes? Laundry
is the are a lot of steps washing drying. I
don't mind. I don't mind either of them. I do
them both equally. I do them both equally. None car
or truck. Oh, depends depends on the car and depends

(14:58):
on truck. U Ups in the cupboard right side up
or upside down? Cups in the cover right I do
right side up? I feel like they're upside down. I
get like dirt and they're like, I know, you know
what else about the about cups? I don't like to
drink at cups at restaurants that have the little lip
under it because I feel like people's lip juice is

(15:19):
like still scraped on there and they don't wash them
good enough. Do you know what kind of cup I'm
talking about? Do you know? Okay, it's a cup that
like it doesn't just go straight up, like has that
little bit that comes around and your lip kind of
stops and you you know, it's just a normal cup,
some sort of Oklahoma cup that you don't know what
I'm talking about. I'm googling it. Okay, well, okay, hold on,

(15:42):
John Party is going to come into a second. How
do you feel about our guest today? I love him.
I was actually just settling a little thing out there,
you know what I mean? What do you mean? Like,
you know, I'm just having to like basically be a
marriage counterbort because I had so much practice. They were
asking me about my expertise in marriage. Was it the
conversation that I was in, Yes, I thought it was
not for this. Let's just leave it there, okay, even
like okay, so I'm talking about these normal plastic cubs

(16:05):
like this. I heard that. Do you know what I mean?
That thing like a plastic coup. I think that lip
skin gets stuck down there and that they don't properly
wash them in restaurants. Never heard of that before. Anything
you'd like to say about this show in the past
six seven episodes, it's been great. Has anything you want
to say? But I guess John party love him with

(16:28):
my whole heart. Well, Caitlin and I were talking and
we were like, who's the one artist, like contemporary artists
that you would go to their concert right now if
you had to pick one, And hers was John? And
was John? I mean? And John's just a great friend
of ours, even outside of any of this. John and
Summer our dear friends of ours. So I love him.
I hear him. You can't not hear I'm getting Caitlin,
thank you. There she is for her last appearance ever.

(16:48):
My wife Caitlyn, all right, my first guest. Tonight's song
Tequila Little Time is currently climbing up the country charts.
You can catch them on tour right now and get
tickets at John Party dot com, which I highly recommend

(17:09):
you see live because he sings like there's a fire
burning in his belly and by the way, he looks
great in the cowboy hat. Please welcome my friend John Party.
Everybody here he is, yes, there, it is welcome. Welcome
to the bedroom. How How how big old boy are you?
Six three and a half do you? Did you ever
listen to Roydy Mercer at all? Do you know that

(17:29):
just does? How big old boy are you? How's how's
everything been good? Do you have your voice back? Yes?
I've Um we had their biggest test run yet with
nine shows and eleven days. You had are you're about
to know? We have when you were able to sing
fine after being good all through them? Um, there's you know,

(17:51):
long sets, short sets, interviews which talking is just as
you know, I think talking is even more just as
tough on your vocal cords than singing, especially talking over
loud music. Right now, it's not a big deal, but
we had like we're backstage at the concert or we're
at a club or something and we're like, yeah, raw,

(18:16):
that's that's when it's really hard on the vocal course.
But I survived, so it's going really well. Whenever they
tell you you have to go on vocal rest and
it's right after the pandemic and you've just gone right
back into shows, I would imagine that sucks worse than
if they tell you two years ago to go on
vocal rest right in the middle of a tour, because
when you hadn't been a little tour forever, you're ready

(18:36):
to go and they shut you down again. Yeah, a
vocal arrest is a disappointment in any time of your career.
But it's a very uh strategic and important thing. I've
learned quite a bit. Um. I cut out dairy and
just stuff that to keep acid reflex and mucus and

(18:56):
stuff from traveling up and down your throat. There's a
little ext a size as you can do to open
up your throat. And I've learned so much. So, uh,
I may not got through those nine shows in eleven
days if I didn't know what I knew thanks to Vanderbilt,
So you feel like you've learned a lot about the
voice and the throat. I've learned more about what surrounds

(19:17):
the vocal cords than your actual vocal cords. Basically a doctor.
I'm not a doctor, but I can. I have helped
other artists, you know, from what I've had to do,
because everybody was the same kind of stuff like going
out and you know, get you go from seeing nothing
to the seventy five minutes show three times a weekend,

(19:38):
and it's just it's it's hard. And then of course
you're excited. The partiers want to party. They want to
they want to stay up and hang out with people
after the show, which is pretty much the worst thing
to do if you're you're you got a long weekend.
I saw your mom just walking in and walk back out.
Your mom's in town. Yeah, good to see her. Yeah,
now she she's awesome. Was there any drop because I

(20:00):
like John's mom should come and watched the show. Did
you tell her mom, this is work? Or did you
go mom, come on? I said, mom, this is work.
I said, you know, I didn't want to bring like, hey,
Bobby mom. But in summer Texa, Kaitlin, you know your
mom has been over to the house before though, I know,
but I just I didn't know. I didn't I we're

(20:21):
hanging out doing a thing. So but you made her,
you made her whole trip to Nashville's guys, he's gotta
see Stanley. You wrote Tequila a Little Time with Thomas
Rhett and Luke Laird where you get Aikins Thomas, it
was tr and red Akins, No Noe Red Aikins and
Luke Laird. Okay, see I was never okay Thomas Holt.

(20:42):
So were you guys writing that song for you that day? Like,
were you like, we need a song like a kind
of yeah, because it kind of has like teano vibes,
Like was when you go into that room to do that?
Is that was that kind of the idea? And Tequila
a Little Time to kill a Little Time, which is
the song? Like where did that come from? Uh? So

(21:04):
when I write, I write anything, I don't think as
an artist, you should write we need this, you know,
and you could have that. You could try that, but
you might end up with something completely like dump all
your thoughts out into the writer session, say what you
would like to have. You may not get it. You
may get something similar. And for instance, we wrote five

(21:26):
songs on this writer's retreat. Tequill a Little Time was
the last we wrote like a super kind of pop
country song. We wrote a super country song. We were
just kind of just write as songwriters and and having
fun and enjoying music. And at the end of our
whole trip, we couldn't come up with anything. We were

(21:48):
just sitting around. Was like one o'clock, one o'clock. You
ain't got nothing in a songwriter session, it's it's very dooming.
Like you started thinking, well, you know the Mexican right
front down the road, or there's a good good to
get a good burger at this place. Especially we're in
my mom's in northern California and we're it was me,
Ratt and Luke and Uh. We were just kind of

(22:12):
it was very very quiet, and then out of nowhere,
Red just spits in his dip cup because he just
likes to dip. He's got his thing, and he goes
te quill a Little Time. I want him to keep
a little time with you. We wrote the song in
an hour and a half and I and I wanted

(22:34):
to fun kind of to hano spash horns on it
because if you look throughout the history of country music,
that's not nothing brand new, you know, it may be
new in one but you got I feel in a
burning ring, you know, and pop. But I always love

(22:54):
Spanish music. You know. I grew up in northern California.
The Spanish population was very familiar, heavily in the agriculture,
construction and lots of stuff I did. We always heard,
we always heard Spanish music. So and then going around Texas,
you know, around there, it's just the cordy and everything
in it. And what I love about Spanish music match music.

(23:15):
It makes you feel happy, regardless of you don't know
what they're saying, You're still like, you know, I wanna
organize this, I wanna dance. I'm gonna get a margarite,
I'm gonna do, you know. And there was something about that.
And so with just tequila in the title, and and
just having a story about somebody that's at a bar,
just trying to make somebody feel better, I just we

(23:38):
just went with the horns and Luke had he made
a little track and we had a little keyboard horns
at the time. But I sung the mela bump Buna dona.
So I came up with the whole thing and it
just kind of came out and and it took us
about like two and a half hours. When we're finally done,
because we we had the the little work tape done.

(23:59):
But is that a song? When you finished, you knew
you had something. Maybe it wasn't a single, but you're
like this one special or was it just another really
good song? It written over the weekend. We had a
lot of songs that were cool on that weekend. And
but it's funny, you know, you start, you got you
got your friends, you know, like you asked you, John,
what what songs have you been writ and I was like, well,

(24:19):
you're not get this keyless songs pretty cool and you
play it from there and and then minute that you
played another one, you can play another one. They are
like the play that key a little time one again.
That's when you're like you start paying attention. And because
you write so many songs. But then I started was like, man,
this is you need to start making feel good. You
get a feeling to you know, when you hear a song,

(24:40):
you get a feeling, And so that started growing on me,
getting a feeling towards it. So I, uh, I really
I really enjoyed it. Stuff I stuck up for it
to put it on heart a medication. Um I had
a lot of people have said they didn't want it
on there, and it became a single. So there's some
things as as anything is. As we're in our heads

(25:03):
where we know we want to say and sing, you
guys stick up. But possibly the song that gets played
in my house to most right now, not by me.
Don't give me the credit. It's all okay. Calen plays
that song all the time. It's on repeat. Um I
do want to play a game with you. We're gonna
do country artists without hats and then a little bit.
John is gonna play Tequilla a little time. But what
I'm gonna do is I'm gonna show you a picture
of a country artist without the cowboy hat. I have

(25:26):
some if you want to show those two. What do
you mean your pictures of you that cowboy hats? I've
seen you with that a cowboy hat and peep. Okay,
that's that's that's old school. Okay. So you had long
hair at that time, don't do you had the same
haircut is the first picture of myst Okay, So, so
who is this artist that's a that's long hair? John.

(25:47):
That's that's that's long hair, long hair, John Hardy. That's right. Okay,
he's still having a good time. By the way, if
you didn't notice that, that's funny. Um okay, name this
artist without a hat. That's Brad Page. That is Brad Paisley.
That is correct. Name that artist who usually wears a
cowboy hat. Who isn't right there? That's Toby Key. That

(26:09):
is Toby. It's weird to see Toby with that account
or any hat, because sometimes you'll wear a baseball cap,
but any hat, okay, who is don't know that. I've
seen George Straight hat less. Have seen him a couple
of times in a ball cap and mostly in a
cowboy hat. Have you ever met George Straight? Yes? Pretty cool. Yes,

(26:29):
I have a funny George Straight story. I was he
was doing so it was like a charity thing and
he was there and I was still like, hey, you know,
Brian Ryan at the label is good buddy with George.
It's like, hey, you know, I'm gonna see if you
come hang out with George on the bus. So you know,
I was drinking, having a good time, like whoa and

(26:49):
I got to meet likeverone go see George, Me and George,
everybody hung out. We were laughing, having a good time,
and it was like so awesome, such a cool guy,
so chill, like you know you meet heroes. It's he
could go either way, and it went he's just as
cool as George Straight is like the king of country
music and the king of just being cool. But then

(27:12):
he goes, you guys want to do shout out tequila?
I mean, am I gonna turn it down? Even though
I've had whatever amount of beer that I probably shouldn't
have had them any beer? Yeah, George, I don't want
to have a shot off. But what's the code to go? Yes?

(27:35):
And so he's I had to like the top shelf
code go yeah. I walked off the bus. I took
a shot with George Straight. We went back to the hotel.
I threw him. It was like it was so worthy,
like painted that toilet whatever color. I was going up. Alright,

(27:56):
name this one. Terry Clark, Terry Clark, that is correct,
Kenny Chesney, that is correct. Tim McGraw, Tim McGraw, which
we see mcgrawl a little bit. Yeah. I think I
think every artist should be able. I know, in nineties
and I'm not talking about cowboy hats and stuff, but
the stigma was in the nineties, like you had to

(28:17):
look like what you look like, Whereas I was always like,
we should be able to rock a ball cap, show
people we have hair and we can style it, or
you know, uh, we're a cowboy hat. But I feel like, now,
if if you're a cowboy, you can be a cowboy
with hair, you can be a cowboy with a ball
cap on. You'd be a cowboy with a cowboy hat on,
Like it's just what you are. So I was kind

(28:40):
of thought about that, but it's just I think artists
should be able to show many sizes, and I always,
I always I used the Middling as an example because
I love those guys, but like they change, like their
style changes from like seventies cool to like whatever the
hell to wear now it's sweet cool and it's like
I love him, you know, and and they're just the

(29:01):
very artistic. You will at times not wear a hat.
I love a lot. I love not wearing a hat.
I mean the weird thing is you may be dressed
up and not wear a hat. But also if we
go to dinner, you will show up at a restaurant
in a hat like you. Again, I never quite know
what to expect with you. That we went to dinner
once and you made fun of my hat that I

(29:21):
thought I would wear. I work howboy hat with John
because I wanted to win in Rome. I've been making
fun of it. I was like, we could probably shape that,
and then he lectured me on the season of the hat.
He was like, this isn't what because I guess it
was maybe like it was kind of cooler temperatures and
I was wearing straw a straw hat and he's like,
you gotta pull me aside. He was nice about it,
and he was like, hey man, it's not straw hat time.

(29:44):
You know this is this is like felt hat time.
Well felt see felt hat. I've seen guys rock felts
in the summer, I was like bold and for me,
for me, I sweat a lot, and even when I
was wearing my hair like all done up on stage,
it would fall apart and I'd just be like a
sweaty mess. So and that's why I love the cowboy hat.

(30:04):
Like I still can be a sweaty mess, but I
don't have to worry about my hair every being like
but felt is generally for winter because it's warmer, and
straw is generally for summer because it's cooler. That's that's what.
That's cool. That's it. We don't have to get into
the seasons of cowboy. Had you wear? You know? It's

(30:26):
all right? Last one? Who's that without a cowboy hat?
It's so easy. It's Garth, It's pretty easy. But you
got them all. I mean Garth, Garth. He's another he's
got the ball cat, he's got a beanie, it's got
the hat. He's got a different hat. Would you ever
perform without a cowboy hat? Though, I've never seen you
perform without a cowboy hat I have back in the day. Um,
I would yeah, for like a couple of songs because

(30:51):
I'm just a sweaty guy. Just I did. Just started
the chest starts pumping pumping their it's like the engines
going the my body one is a cool itself off.
We have two things we're gonna do. Um, let's do
see if John can identify the most expensive tequila. We

(31:12):
have three. You don't have to all, do you have
to get all drunk here? You can if you want,
but we have three tequila shot. I did not I
do have my driver here, but you can have the
whole shot or you can just have a little sip
of it. But two of them, the bottle costs like bucks.
The other one, the bottle costs five dollars? Can you

(31:33):
name the really expensive one? Now, I'm gonna let our
our audience know via my fingers which one is very expensive? Mike,
it's this one right here, right, Okay, this one is
the very expensive one. And so now just take a
little drink of each one of them and see if
you can name which one is expensive. I've never tasted.
You're about to which one would you like to go with? First? Well,

(31:55):
I like to apologize to anybody have the brand names
I'm drinking. If I drink something, we won't say what
are Okay, well, we'll only name disclaimer. I'm sorry, we're
not even going to say what they are. Okay, I'm
gonna do a little sit because these were brand protected.
Here and the one I like, I'm gonna take the show. Okay,
here we go. Here's number one that tastes familiar, Okay, standard,

(32:21):
a good standard though. Okay, the second one, mm hmm,
it's really smooth, quite smooth. Number two is quite smooth.
And then here is the third one. Why would you
think the third one would be so expensive? Like what
just happened there when you drank it, it's got a
different taste. I'd go with number two, the one I'm

(32:43):
gonna take a shot of. If you're just tasting, you're
going one, number two? Which one do you think is
a really expensive one? Number three? You didn't? So you
didn't like the really expensive one. Sometimes I don't like
really expensive tequila. The most expensive tequila where the bottle
was over five dollars, better to be number two, number three?

(33:03):
I called it. But you're you're a man of the people. Yeah,
I knew it. You. I am recorded saying that what's
number two? Mike? We could tell number He likes number
two the most. That is Thomas Red Tequila problems, Thomas
Red Tequila, Thomas rhet commercial, Thomas, you have good tastes.

(33:26):
Here he is. Everybody cheers and Thomas rich. There is
There is no cash offer because Thomas don't live too
far from here. There was no cash on the way here.
This is but I did call it the five hund
did well. Cheers to cheers to Thomas Ritt. Everyone there.
He is Mike, you want to pull this away? Do

(33:48):
you want to what do you want to shot? Mike?
Do you want to take tequila? I'm curious. I'm driving
a little sip anymore someone who's never it forever. Yeah,
that was a tasting the amount though I did, right,
I nailed it. You didn't nail it, But sometimes you
do like expensive stuff. It's expensive tequila tastes a little different. Yeah,

(34:12):
that's I won't drop a number here. But once I
picked up the check at a meal and it was
you had ordered a lot of expensive meat. Yeah, yeah,
he meets expensive that I tried to pay half. You did?
You did the whole thing, sneak. I said I'll get

(34:33):
this one. I said, I'll get this one. It John
goes and I was like, what's that? And by the
time I can um, is that your guitar right there?
Let's plug it out and play a song. By the way,
you guys go to John party dot com. Um the
guys playing shows. He sings like a like a like
an angry angel and angry angelia. Do we yeah? We?

(34:55):
Oh yeah, we got a d I Mike, you get
over there, did a sound check and everything did How
are did you get to the house. I'll see about
five o'clock. Did some mowing weed eaten spray spray some
weeds and stuff, you know, found found. You have brought
wood over here, are right? And I checked on the wood.
Make sure the woodpiles. Put some pest control down. Just

(35:16):
stuff like now you got here about I got here
on time at eight thirty five. No no, no no, no
no five. Here is a John Party, tequila, a little
taken up and dog poop. You know it's not hell
about here. He's drung. I'm not drug him. Seven a
good time. I love our conversations, I love our friendship
and chasten tequila with the whole crew. We don't have

(35:47):
to talking bad bad here moon food and I loving
bad little leattle weeken tiggy to the dance floor, but
into then a couple moreker I want to keep that
in up time and you little sound and lam dude

(36:13):
here by man, will you bring us to I want
to keep a little time talking it all alf seeing
what you all about? Will you wanted to keep telling
me to shout out to Thomas rid having some good tequila.

(36:37):
Didn't even know it. Yeah, there he is John Party.
Everybody my friend you killed it again. Thank you. What
a great performance, not only singing and playing, drinking tequila
tasting to keep all of it unumber three years. I
don't think it's that five right there. He didn't know
it immediately. A lot of people are saying you sound

(36:57):
great and the sound qualities great, Mike, so shout out
to you there. Yes, yes, yeaways got a great crew.
Someone says, Bobby, are you reading this? That is Lynn Barber?
I am. A lot of people say they'd like to
hang out with you and Summer. Do you find that
Summer has a fan club now as well? I find
it like Summer has their own fan club, and it's

(37:18):
literally like mainly girls that love Summer and they want
to watch me through Summer's eyes. Does that make sense?
It's a different way to see you, for sure. Yes,
instead of me being like you're the director? Cost Is
that how you say track drink cows at home? No? No, listen,

(37:39):
we are we have run out of time my cow.
You know how I talked to my cow? You did
it forty those those little uh, those little horses or whatever.
You guys have the goat, No, but you also have
a little those little Harry furry cow landers. Yeah, those
are cows right, Yes, those things are awesome. They're great,
But did were they able? They're like furry, they're like

(38:01):
lovable looking. Are they lovable in person? Yes? Or they're dirty?
Oh they're so dirty. I'm so like anything. I know.
We all know that COVID has set back so many stuff. Actually,
I've been so busy. I need to call Prefer but
I need to get a head gate so I can
get in there and start working on them. But they're

(38:22):
like good gates eighteen weeks out. I'm like, damn hey gate.
But headgates where they come through and you squeeze their
head and then and then you gotta some panels so
you can start working on them. You vaccinate them if
you need to cut their eyes or wipe them down
for flash spray and stuff. This is stuff you can do.
I think Caylen would like to do that to me
with my zits, because she called stuff on me, and

(38:44):
I think she liked put me in headgates so she
could get that stuff out. I think you'd be in
the squeeze. All right, there is a whole party. Everybody
john going to see take a quick break. We will
come back right here on this show on the time
with Bobby Bones. There it is hold on, Nikita, let

(39:06):
me introduce you all on my next guest is originally
from Sydney, Australia, and moved to Nashville to pursue a
career in country music. She released her debut album The
Garden earlier this year, and she will also be performing
at Bobby Fest on Saturday September four in New Brambles, Texas,
and on Sunday, September five in which Talk Kansas. If

(39:26):
you want to see her or the other acts, Raging
getting gets dot com, but you can follow her on
Instagram at Nikita Carmen. Please welcome one of my favorite Australians.
Behind Keith Urban Crocodile, Dundee, Rebel Wilson, the Hymnsworth Brothers,
Hugh Jackman. But one spot before the guy who voices
the Outback commercials here is Nikita Carmen. There she has
come on in. There you go shut that door behind her. Please,

(39:51):
Well you walked in right in the middle. Let me
introducing you on the countdown calling. Also, John is a
tall sitter. To look at this, it's all the way
up to her forehead. And how are you? I'm good?
How are you? I'm good? At every time I see
you on the internet, you are playing some show in town,
like some sort of writers something, or you're with Walker
Hayes doing something. It seems like you're playing a lot

(40:12):
of shows. That true. Yeah, it's starting to kick off again.
I mean I was doing all the online shows and
now I actually have to like talk to people in
the audience, which I'm terrible at. So you kind of
cut your teeth playing in a pub in Australia. Yes,
I would play at a pub twice a week on
Thursday nights and Sunday, and my dad would come to
every single show and he would set up for me

(40:34):
because I had no idea how to set up the
mixing board. And and you would play for how long?
Three hours? And what what? What are you playing for
three hours? I mean I would try and put some
of my own songs in there, but you have to
keep the people at the pub happy. So it's a
lot of cover songs and a lot of people yelling
at me to keep it down so I can watch
the footy behind me, and the footy would be soccer. No,

(40:57):
I'm so bad this rugby or there's a difference between
rugby and NFL and NFL one of them probably rugby
not football. Um, okay, why don't we play a song first?
You wanna do that? Okay, to grab your guitar there,
so what Nikita? By the way, you can follow her.
I mentioned at Nikita Carmen on Instagram. Your d I
is right here. What are you gonna play for us? First? Um?

(41:21):
I was thinking playing? Then some you're thinking of? Like
you still don't know? She walked in still not knowing. Okay,
So then some which is on the new record? Did
Walker produce the whole record? Yes? Yeah, he did at
his house, which was a fun experience. So you went
to his house and saying at his house? Yes? And
how and how did you meet Walker? Heads? It must
be some some glorious being from above put you guys

(41:44):
together pretty much. Yes, we actually met on your I
was already a huge fan of Walkers. I remember him
coming up to me and he was like, if you're
in the woods to Halloween, you can sing out like
I know him, I know, I'm ready ill be encouraged.
All right, here is Nikita Carmen doing? Then something's what

(42:06):
you're doing okay? What did I expect to turn the
IFM on and hear this song and be able to
hold it together. I miss you and I know better.
I need to hear something crazy now. You gave men
around being around thing and they get together, and I

(42:29):
know we said never it hurts like help. I know
somewhow I'll get over you. Then song, do all the
song and I won't even think about thinking about you.
Won't even be a double digg in my bear view.
I'll get over you. Man, somebody's gonna love me like

(42:52):
you did. Every still get me closet of closure. Trust me.
I ain't just gonna get over you. I'll get a song,
I'll get all I'll get a nice job. If you're

(43:18):
just turning us on, that is Nikita Carmen. Um, So
what's what's happening? What are you gonna be doing? You're
playing Bobby Fest for a couple of shows. I'm very
excited about it. I have a really saffy Instagram post
already like draft it, oh but not up yet. I
love to drop stuff in advance. Um, which, Yes, I'm
just really excited to hang out with everybody the whole

(43:41):
game kind of back together again. We kind of got
to see everyone at the wedding and now I'm like,
oh my god, I can't wait to be out forcing
everyone to play games again. Nikitta would do that on
the tour bus. She would bring games and force us
all to play games. But the best game that you
ever brought though, was a video game, which was quip Lash,
and I said, dominate us. We would. We would go

(44:01):
pretty hard on that one. Yeah, that was a fun one.
We'd all scream at each other. But she's always been
about playing the games. Um, but we're all back together.
I hope you guys come to Bobby Fest in New
Brombels And then also in which talk Kansas, how about
give us one more song? Okay, what do you want
to do? Well? I was thinking about I could do
the play of Love. She has no idea where she's
playing like, she's offering up with quests. Here we go.

(44:24):
I was thinking of playing Somewhere with You because that
was the song that I played over Skype for you
as an audition, and I played it recently at a
show and I was like, this is fun to sing.
How about let's do this. Then let's do Verston chorus
of Somewhere with You in Verston churse of a new song. Okay,
that way we get it, We get the best of
both worlds. Alright, alright, here is Nikita Carmen with Somewhere

(44:44):
with You, just finishing. Oh my god, I'm the worst
person to interview. If you're going out so new, I'm
going out so unto. I won't feel sorry for me.

(45:10):
I'm getting drunk. Will must rather be somewhere with you,
laughing light on accountable ride, jopling around side and night.
You made fun of me for singing my son got
don't want to him just turn Anyone said pick me
up at three am. You're fighting with your mom again,
And I'd go, I'd go. I'd go somewhere with you.

(45:37):
Oh I can go out every night of the week.
I can go home with anybody I met. But it's
just a temporary high because when I close my eyes,

(45:58):
I'm so where with you, with you. I'm still terrible
at finishing songs. Used to tell me that on the road,
you're like people wouldn't want to clap she finished a
song and she would just would be like, is it over?
Because then sometimes she'd be like, I should go back

(46:20):
into another verse, so you would scare everybody even clapping. Yeah,
but I did that. Actually the show I played last
weekend and I was like I finished, and I was like, sorry,
that that's done. You guys the cloud Now, um, okay,
what is the song you're gonna play? Give us verse
of course of one of your songs? And is it
on the garden? Yeah? Well I was thinking about doing
own roses. That's um. Actually, I have a funny story

(46:44):
by funny, it's not funny really, but I played this
song for a show I played in Florida, and this
has never happened to me. I started playing this song
and I started bowling why I don't know. And then
I was like, I'll feel like I think of serial
kill Let's think of like true crime stuff you've been
watching and everyone what it's like feeling bad for me?
And I was like, I'm I'm really happy. Why would

(47:05):
you want to think of serial killers to make you happy?
That is true? And I'm astly thinking about like maybe
because I was like happy teas, so I was like,
stop crying out of joy, think about really sad things
like murder. Okay, alright, this song and then then time

(47:25):
for We're gonna We're gonna own roses. Here is Nikita
Carmen owned roses. There were these mostly nights I got
bound sheep bread why I called up and said to cry,
almost gave up a thousand times, and I made coffee

(47:45):
live to see a whole new brand love that had
everything and doing my island in the flight how goo
my own muses wasn't easy at the start, when you're
not quite showing homes, when you go in in the dark.

(48:10):
Always thought and needed somebody to lay my roots for me.
But I found out in the lonely and somehow emods
I go my own roses. Look, oh look, oh look,

(48:35):
I go my own roses. Nice say job. So everybody,
if you're watching this, you can subscribe to this channel.
They do so many great live performances. Obviously, if you're
here you love country music, you love live performances. But
you can, you know, hit and subscribe to this channel
and watch a whole lot of music. This is the

(48:55):
very final show. Um, I'm started crying. So you think
of serial kilors, think of up a puppy getting great white. Um,
so that's it. Great job, Nikita, thank you, thanks for
having me. Good luck with your career in life, both
career in life good good. You'd like to say before
we go, didn't miss anything? Um No, I actually wanted

(49:16):
to mention that this isn't also probably not funny story. Okay,
but I'm playing a show in Georgia and I didn't
think that anyone was going to come. So I said, oh,
crochet key chains for everybody that comes to the show. Yeah,
because I want to give them a little gift bag.
You made a guarantee that everyone who came to the show,
you would crochet a key chain for them. I've never
heard of that before, and they're like jellyfish and they're

(49:38):
pretty intricate. It takes me quite a while, and I
was like, there's not gonna be that many people. And
currently we're at like twenty two kids and the show
is always crochet for so that's what I'll be doing
this great game. So you have to crochet another nineteen
jellyfish and that's on the minimum. Yes. I keep getting
emails being like we sold two more like no, So

(50:03):
that's what I was doing before I came here. Where
do where? Where is this show? And where can people
get tickets? It's in Blue Ridge, don't get it's the
only artist is making people not to come to the show.
So it's in Blue Ridge, Georgia, which is near what oh,
I have no idea. It's nice though. It's in the mountains, okay. Yeah.
And they have a good downtown area with restaurants. Okay.

(50:25):
And you can get tickets where um, you can get
out if you go on my Instagram. You can get
it on my instagram. Bio. I feel like you should
know a little more about this. I know, no, like
I know that everyone's getting a little gift handmade okay
at Nikita Carmen. Okay, Um, that's it. This is the

(50:46):
final show and that's our show for tonight. Thanks to
our guests John Party and Nikita Carmen. Special thanks to
Twitch Control Music. You guys, make sure you subscribe to
the channel. There's just so much great content here. But
most importantly thanks to you for watching. That's Gonna do

This has been the season finale, and much like the
last episode of Friends, we're all even our keys on

(51:08):
the counterars. We'll walk out of here tonight and now
we have to kill Mike dy Mike. Yes, well, we'll
be back for season two. Who knows, you are never
guaranteed anything in life, so we shall see. Don't forget,
