Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, it's Tuesday. So we got another Q and A
episode for you. And this is what we call the
Fifth Thing. And now this is a spin off. Is
that we call it a spinoff or an addition to
my four Things podcast. This is my friend Chase here
with me. He comes on from time to time to
help me with Q and as and different things. But
(00:22):
so I just want to address something here and I'll
address it again on Thursday, because last Thursday I had
Kelly loveck on, who's a nutritionist and I don't know
the credentials sometimes to be a nutritionist, Like I know
that she has schooling and education, and I don't know.
There's various types, and there are a variety of different
(00:43):
people out there offering different plans. And it seems as
though like some people were worked up about certain people's credentials.
I'm not even saying just Kelly's in particular, but any
guests that I have on. But if there's someone I'm
having on, it's because I found whatever they're saying interesting.
A lot of time, I've become friends with them on
Instagram and I like their message, I like what they share.
(01:06):
With Kelly, I actually know her and have eaten her
Fab four way and love her Fab four smoothie. Um,
but it's not a part of my life and my plan.
And in no way am I saying you should eat
the way she's saying. And then I've got you know,
Lisa from at the well Necessities coming on talking about
(01:27):
modern mindful eating, and I'm not saying you should do
that either. I'm just trying to give people a variety
of things. And I got some notes that it seems
like I'm putting out conflicting information. And I don't really
think that my podcast is a one stop shop for
one way thinking. I mean, when it comes to gratitude
(01:49):
and positivity, I say that's our lane, Like we know
ar lane. Uh, there's things in my life that are
going to be that are gonna come up, like adoption,
for example. But maybe different people that I have on
regarding adoption may have different stories and different advice and
different things for you. And my hope is that that
wouldn't be confusing to you. Like in the health and
(02:10):
wellness world. I mean, everywhere you turn in health and wellness,
there's different opinions. And I'm not bringing on different opinions
to be confusing I'm bringing on different opinions so that
you can be informed. And I also know that I
have a variety of listeners and everybody's bodies different. Everybody
may someone may hear Lisa talk about modern mindful eating
and be like, Boom, that's exactly what I needed to hear,
(02:31):
and that is for me. And somebody might have listened
to Kelly Lavek and been like, oh wow, Boom, I
really need to start implementing more fat, more fiber, more greens,
and more protein into my diet. And I'm pretty busy
and I get hungry all the time, and I don't
want my insulin levels to spike, So maybe I'm gonna
start eating that way too. You actually could merge the
two and and sort of eat both ways. So anyway,
(02:55):
I lost a listener. One person told me they would
not be listening anymore because of the conflicting for nation
and that that broke my heart that they weren't able
to separate the two. And I think they probably have
something going on in their life, which I understand. If
my podcast is going to bring out anything for you
that isn't serving you, then absolutely I feel the same
(03:17):
way about people you follow on Instagram. If you're following
someone who might be a great follow for a lot
of people and might not be really doing anything wrong,
but for whatever reason, if their feet is not serving you,
then unfollow them. And so I know, rest in peace,
Like I lost a follower and or a listener, and
but I appreciated her reaching out to me, and I
(03:37):
replied to her too, and she responded back, and I
feel like it was healthy correspondence and we were transparent
and in no way do I take it was her
feedback although it was a little bit negative, she presented
it in a nice way, and I appreciated it. And
I think constructive criticism although I don't agree with it,
sometimes I might and I might take that and take note,
(04:00):
and I'm not. I feel like now I'll always have
her note and had I had, like maybe a couple
of other notes in the back of my head regarding
who I schedule and making sure what they're about and
what they're gonna say. But I feel like, in a way,
the Four Things podcast is kind of like a talk
show where you they have or a morning show that
(04:22):
has various guests and various sayings, like of all the years,
not comparing myself to Oprah. Not, I repeat, I am not.
But you know, people hear what they want to hear,
and they're like, oh great, now Amy's comparing yourself to Oprah.
But I'm not. But I'm just saying of all the
years that you watch the Oprah Show or you know,
listen to even her podcast, Like there's sometimes I listened
(04:44):
to Oprah's you know uh podcast and she has people
on where I'm like, okay, wow, that really resonated with me.
I agree. But then she'll have somebody else on the
things different totally different things than the other person. And
on her talk show, she had a variety of people
on one person and that may have you know, Dr
Oz is one of her main people, but she certainly
(05:04):
probably had people on that believe different things in him.
I had Doctor Os on my podcast shoot, and I
got negative feedback because people were like, oh, Dr Oz
that everybody has an opinion about something. So a point
is I just want to give a lot of different information.
Doesn't mean that it has to before you, right, is
just like am I now I feel that I've rambled
(05:28):
and I probably should just maybe a little bit, but
now you you I mean, it's called four things for
a reason. It's presenting different things in different I just
I just felt like, oh, shoot, have I have I
led someone to believe that this is the only kind
of thinking that they're going to get from my podcast.
And the main point was is that the week before
(05:50):
Kelly Levic and also I should point out it she
didn't have an issue with Kelly Levex Fab four, but
that was the main reason Kelly was on. In the
beginning of the podcast, we talked about how Kelly, my sister,
and Mary and I went on a wellness retreat for
four days and we did not eat food, and she
that bothered her. I don't even think. I think actually
after she heard that part, which was in the first thing,
(06:13):
she stopped listening. So then I was like, well, did
you listen to the whole thing? Because that was not
the point of the podcast. It was just a fun
story that I haven't really told anybody in two years.
We went on that trip and only my close family
and friends knew. I didn't talk about it on the
Bobby Bones Show. I didn't tell a lot of people
because I thought that they would think I was crazy,
and I it was zero percent for any sort of
(06:34):
weight loss or anything like that. And Kelly and I
preface the conversation with that, and we said, this is
not something you should try to go do. Now. This
person that it emailed me had, you know, said, well,
last week before, Kelly, you had on the Well Necessities
talking about modern mindful eating and eating and anyway, this
person had a eating disordered past or a disordered eating past,
(06:57):
and you know, they said it was just too much
for them to even think about to encourage someone to
not eat could send them into a neating disorder. And
I just was so bummed because it's not at all
what we were saying at all at all. It was
about self turnover. How I'm terrified of cancer running in
my family. I'm terrified of inflammation and different things because
(07:19):
that's what causes disease, and that there are some studies
out there that show when you go through a fasted state,
I mean, shoot, Jesus fasted forty nights. I don't know.
I know that's unrelated, but my thing is you, when
you put your body in a fasted state, whether it's
(07:40):
for self turnover or maybe for prayer or whatever the case,
actually there's probably tons of benefits of that to clear mind, um, body,
and spirit. There's something to be said about that. And
we were discussing that that's what we chose to do
for four days and how crazy it was and the
fact that we were able to do it. I mean,
(08:01):
we drank water obviously, fun fact, you can only go
free to five days without water, but you can go
several weeks without food, forty days and forty nights in fact,
I mean, and so I just, man, it just bummed
me out. But I did appreciate the email, and I
will give props. I'm not going to call her out
because it wasn't I didn't ask permission for me to
(08:24):
say who she was, Otherwise otherwise I would get And honestly,
I think she might give it because she did it
in such a respectful way and she was very sweet.
But she didn't inform me that she probably wasn't gonna
be able to listen because my podcast was causing a
trigger with her, and oh man, that was such a
bummer because but but all this to say, you know,
(08:44):
if you're listening to the podcast, maybe I won't address
this again this Thursday, because I feel like I'm addressing
a lot of it right now and we don't need
to get back into it. But I just know that
I'm going to have a variety of people on, just
like Oprah. I'm not Oprah, but you know what I'm saying,
just like Sally Jesse, Raphael or her Haraldo or Jerry Springer,
(09:11):
Jerry Jerry, I mean all kinds of things. I think
that that that is what you're going to come to
my podcast for. I'm having a little slipper on this Thursday.
And she's someone who which I've got a question in
this batch about CBD oil. Chase is going to read
it in a minute, and I know that she uses it,
so I'll actually touch on that more with her on
(09:34):
Thursday and ask her about it. But she's coming on
to talk about her a breast explant surgery. But I
originally had her on the podcast on previous episodes to
talk about the way she has to live her life
and she only consumes certain food. I mean, she has
a major gut issues. It's like IBS but made like
(09:55):
Times twenty, doctors didn't even really know how to heal
her what was is wrong and she was near death,
but through food she was able to heal herself. Now
does that mean her recipes and her food are going
to be for every single person listening. Absolutely not. But
I know that having her on allows her to reach people.
And I know people that hurt her on my podcasts
(10:17):
that have now found her and it has helped them significantly.
So and her way of eating is very different than
other people's. So just going to be a variety of
things here. And I know Kelly Levuck has helped tons
of people, and I know that Lisa at the Well
Necessities has helped tons of people. All these people have
helped me. I feel like maybe you can take little
bits and pieces from every single thing, but I do
(10:38):
understand if it's conflicting one week and you do struggle
with any sort of disordered eating. ME included that if
you're not in the right place, then it's best to
take a break. So maybe some people had to step back,
take a break from the podcast, but I hope maybe
one day people can return. Let's get to the questions. Okay,
(11:03):
that was a ten minute. I just really minute clarified
things and I think that was good. Okay, all right,
we'll get through the questions quickly. Okay, this on This
one's from Katie um and This was on a you know,
a personal experience and a personal topic. I have battled
bliemia since i was seventeen and I'm now twenty two.
(11:23):
Those first questions kind of relates to disordered eating, obviously.
I uh so, I've battled it since i was seventeen,
and I've been doing good for about a year and
a half now. It's always been a battle, and I
admire you sharing your story, as it's very difficult and
uncomfortable to share. I was wondering, how did you tell
your husband and family that you were battling you're eating disorder? Okay,
(11:44):
so my mom is the first person that I told,
and she was my best friend. And so some moms
you may not be able to do that, but I
would find that person in your life that you can
trust with anything and that can help you get help.
And I was in high school and had to go
to my mom, and then I told like a couple
of close friends. And then I think finally my sister
(12:09):
or maybe my mom even told my sister. And I
remember my sister coming to me, and that was hard
because I didn't want to let my sister down and
I didn't think she could relate because she didn't have
issues with it. And not that I thought my mom
could relate, she didn't have issues either, But my mom
just felt like an easy person for me to confide
in and she was also able to make sure that
I got the help that I needed. And then, you know,
(12:32):
so for you, it may not be your mom, but
it may be somebody else. And I think when you're
telling people that love you, they're not going to suddenly
not love you because of this. Everybody has different things
going on their life, and my hope is that when
you do reveal it to them that there will just
be a lot of um patience and grace and they
(12:55):
may not be able to empathize, and not that you're
telling them for sympathy, but that they will just be
there for you. Uh. And if they have been through it,
then great they can maybe help walk you through it.
And there was someone in my life that became sort
of a you know, I could go to with questions,
like a family friend that also went through it that
some of my friends suggested, Hey, you should go meet
(13:15):
with her when you're having our time, see how she
dealt with it. But and she's the one that told
me and this stuck with me since high school that
when whether you're a believing or anorexic or whatever, you're
issue is with the food, when you're not honoring your body.
And so for me it was bliema. She's like, every
(13:37):
time you throw up, that's it's like a slow suicide.
So you keep doing that and yeah, one day it
could kill you. So that was always terrifying in the
back of my mind, and I still think about it,
and I think, just like um an alcoholic with the
sense although because but you can cut alcohol completely out
(13:58):
of your life, you can never cut food of your
life completely because we need it to survive. And so
it's hard because food is always all around, and you know,
it's not like you can just stop it. But there
are people like I've had Kale Junkie on Her name
is Nicole but at kale Junkie is her Instagram handle,
and she's been a huge inspiration to me to be
more vocal and vulnerable sharing my story because I wouldn't
(14:22):
say that I talked about it a ton, but through
this podcast, I've been able to just a little bit
more sprinkling in and I'm still trying to figure out
how much and when and what to share. But if
this could be of help to anybody listening that's going
through it, I will say that quote again. Uh, anytime
you treat your body that way, it is a slow suicide.
(14:42):
And I believe that. And I brought up Kale Junkie
Nicole because there was a time where she literally was
in an episode and had been throwing up and she
thought she was going to die. Because if you've never
had to force yourself to do it, and maybe it's
not working, and you keep forcing yourself, it feels sort
of in a way like your head might explode and
(15:02):
your brain starts throbbing, and you can just you have
all these crazy thoughts, what if I passed pass out
right now and then or cause you know, I know
another girl that had it and she ended up developing
seizures from it from the strain. I'm sure there was
other stuff going on in her body, but the doctor
said it was probably because also to adding the blaemia
(15:23):
to the mix. But then even if you're inorectic or
starving yourself and not eating, you're not giving your body
the proper nutrients that it needs. So this is a
sidebar just to encourage anybody listening to tell family and friends,
they're not going to judge you whether you've made it
one day or like this email one and a half years.
Um you are. You're there. It's almost like you have
(15:46):
your little chip and you've got to keep going and
press through and just know that it's worth it to
be the healthiest version of yourself and not let that
roll over you. Even though you know there's gonna be
hard days. Just do try your hardest to not give in.
And when it came to me telling my husband, I
had already. I hadn't I hadn't thrown up. And then
(16:08):
I didn't throw up our whole marriage basically until my
mom died and that was like a trauma trigger which
brought it back for some crazy odd reason. Uh. And
then I had to tell him and I was already
going through so much. I just lost my mom and
he was supporting me in that way, but he was
there for me. He loved me. So I think you know,
(16:30):
when you're asking how do you tell the people that
are close to you, Well, they're close to you for
a reason, you love them, they love you, and if
if for whatever reason after you tell them, this is
something that scares them away or they can't be there
for you, then that is not anything you did. That's
something on them. And maybe we need to find some
(16:50):
different right people. You know what I mean? Okay, I
know I don't. I didn't want to rush through that one.
I do want to kind of get through the questions
because maybe I'm in a ramble mood today today. But
kle junkie dot com too is where you can find Nicole.
And again I just appreciate her being so vulnerable and
(17:11):
talking about her uh past with bulimia real quickly since
you mentioned kle Junkie. The next question comes from Corby
and she had asked what your thoughts are about CBD oil.
(17:33):
She knows that some folks you follow, like kel junk
your advocates of it, and just want to know what
you thought about that. Oh yes, so I do see
kill Junkie post about it. And then again I mentioned
that little Sipper talks about it to her her real
name Spethany. We like to refer to people by their
Instagram mendals. But I'll have her elaborate on it on
Thursday whenever she comes on to talk about breast explant.
(17:56):
And then she has a book coming out, which is
so exciting. But I know I'm not the expert in
CBD oil. I have taken it before. Mary got some,
and she lives in California, so I don't know if
this is like super extra special CBD oil, because there's
the kind that's like legal in Tennessee, where you know,
weed's not legal, and then there's the kind that's legal
in Colorado or California, where we is llegal. And she
(18:18):
has gets really bad headaches, and so her mom had
found this one place you should try to go and
go get this stuff, and so she did and it's
supposed to help you sleep, and I put it under
my tongue and it did help me sleep. But I
don't know if that's the kind that you can buy
at the Kroger Tennessee. I don't know. But the state
I was residing in at the time, it was legal,
(18:40):
so I wasn't ringing the law. I do know. When
my mom was going through cancer, we were thinking we
were gonna be like mules because there was this oil.
Now I think it was CBD oil, but back then
it was not as popular, but there they were recommending.
We tried. We were desperate. For anything. We were going
to move my mom to Mexico, to some juice place
(19:01):
where you live off of soup and juice and it
heals you and colonics coffee, enemas or something every day.
And Bobby had told me from the Bobby Bone Joe,
because I was gonna have to leave work, He's like,
if you need to go live with your mom in
Mexico for six weeks ago. This is which I wish
we would have done it, just to see if it
would have helped my mom, because now we'll never know.
(19:22):
But we decided to go stick with the chemo and radiation,
which I'm all about that too, but but this place,
I wish I could think of the name. But yeah,
do you remember that we were so anyway, we were
desperate for anything, and some people were talking about this
CBD oil in Colorado, but it wasn't legal in Texas,
so we're gonna have to stick it in our bags
(19:43):
and be little mules and bring it back to Texas.
But we never tried it. But I do know that
it does offer some relief in some capacity, like people
swear by it for certain things pain relief. Now again,
there's this solve that I have like a sort of like,
I see how but it's not. I don't know that
it's infused with CBD, because CBD is it's whatever they
(20:06):
sell that's really popular right now. Obviously is legal for everywhere,
but some people just think, oh my gosh, that's marijuana.
You cannot use it. But no, there are some kinds
you can't can. But my sister lives in Colorado and
I have really horrible lower back pain, and she gave
me this stuff called Mary Jane's Medicinal like pain relief
(20:27):
solve like a bomb, and it is legit, but it's
like it's infused with cannabis. I don't know if it's.
I mean, you don't eat it or anything, but you
put it on your back and it feels so good
and it's all natural. So maybe all could order that online.
I did go to their website so I could tell
(20:47):
you all about it. And when I went to the website,
it had asked me to confirm if I was twenty
one or not. I was like, well, I guess because
they have marijuana leaves on the who knows. I really
feel like that's just going to become more legal, as
like people are going to start thinking okay, wow, which
I'm not on here saying that it should be. But
(21:10):
I do know I did experience marijuana with my mom
because when she in her a few last few weeks
of life, uh, she was needed to eat. She she
did not want to eat. And at the hospital they
had given her a synthetic marijuana pill. And it was
really funny. We played Bob Marley when she took it,
(21:33):
even though it was a pill. And we went to
Whole Foods and I bought all kinds of snacks and
brought them to her hospital room. And but because the
hospital had it was a synthetic pill, of course it
was legal. But her smoking the natural thing that God
created from the plant isn't legal. Uh, you know, we
had to go with the pill route. Anyway, we decided
(21:54):
one night that we were going to smoke because she
needed to eat. And um, my mom, best friend and
my sister and me we gathered in my mom's best
friend's laundry room because her husband was home. He didn't
know what we were doing. It. We felt like a
bunch of kids and we gathered around and we we smoked,
(22:14):
and I tell you, my mom felt so great that night.
Her pain was down. She ate she was moving more
than she had moved, like she felt good, and we
put all these snacks out. We were watching the voice.
I remember the voice was on, and she popped right
up from the couch, went back over, made more snacks
and I was like, shout out to the marijuana. And
(22:35):
the kind of that we bought was called Lance Armstrong.
I remember this. I got a video or a FaceTime
during I mean, I think duty experience, yes, because I
think at that time you had mailed my mom some
something ridiculous because she she really wasn't doing that well,
and you had photoshopped her with Oprah or something. Probably
(22:57):
I did some random and it was hard, she said,
But I just remember getting a video and you all
were laughing and she was. I mean she she had
to at that time of her life too. She had
to write down things that she was thankful for because
she was also going to therapy because she knew that
she was approaching end of life ish and having to
(23:19):
process that. It's hard. So she was going to therapy
and her therapist told her to write down fifty things
that she was thankful for. And my sister and I
still have the notebook. I know that I've talked about
this on the podcast before, but I'm bringing it up
to because Mary and I were worked hard on the
Gratitude Journal this last weekend and if my mom. The
funny part is, Chase, have I ever told you that
(23:41):
you were on her list? What? Yeah? Okay, so get this.
I even took my mom to therapy this day. I
know we're just going to quit with the questions. I
had to take her to therapy that day and the
day that she got this assignment, and when we were there,
she spilled ensure in my car because that's what she
(24:02):
was drinking at the time, like anything to get her
calories and lots of insure, And uh, part of me
was so frustrated. But then you can't get frustrated because
I mean Jamal and she's sick and taking her to
therapy for so Anyway, while she was in therapy, I
went and got my car clean, took a few deep breaths.
It's not a big deal. Who cares? Is just some insure.
(24:23):
I probably was hormonal, I was emotional. Everything was hard,
so uh, I feel really bad now every getting upset
about that. But then she has this assignment and she
has this Yellow Journal. And she's right, she's numbered one
through fifty. She only got to fourteen, by the way,
before she never finished it. She had been complete her
(24:44):
homework assignment before she ended up going into hospice, and
so on the fourth list of fourteen things, she had
things like, uh, the yogurt that she got to eat
that morning because it was really high in protein or something.
My sister made the list. I don't think my sister
was in town this day. She was on there. Uh
(25:05):
you were on there, I hope no. Look, look you
were on there because you had sent her that card
that made her smile her and Oprah or something. And uh,
I wasn't on there. No, I wasn't all like the
four whatever these fourteen things were. And Christie, I don't
(25:27):
think she was there that day. I don't know. It
was just I still gonna ask my mom. You had
to come up when you were struggling, you were struggling
to get to fifty. You only got to fourteen. You
could just throw all like your daughters on there and
I and I cleaned the ensured that you spelt it
(25:47):
should have been more like, oh, I'm thankful for not
only my daughter Amy driving me to therapy today, but
also fourteen and I just couldn't think of one more. Yeah,
I didn't even make top fourteen. She never even made
it fifty. And I think my sister has still has
the Yellow Journal, uh, and that page. I should try
to get a copy of it to post it, because
(26:09):
now it's just comical. Makes my week that I made it,
not that you didn't, but it is funny. But I
don believe I never told you that you made it,
but you did. And I think her leopard pajamas made it.
That's funny, you know, It's it's funny when you recall
things like that because I even remember the leopard pajamas
and she was wearing those. And that picture that had
(26:30):
the first Pimp and Enjoy hat. Yeah, that was the
Pimp and Joy prototype hat which Mary had sent in
the mail. And Mary didn't even really know. It's weird
to think that during that time, I mean, Mary and
I were becoming friends, but like she wasn't at my
mom's funeral, which is really weird to think. Like you like,
if it was now, then for sure Mary would be there.
But sometimes when I think about the funeral, I just
(26:53):
assume Mary was there. But we weren't. That was at
the beginning of our online relationship. I think we had
only at each other in person like once and that
wasn't that would that such a part of your mom's legacy? Yeah?
So cool? And so speaking of Mary and Pim enjoying gratitude,
I was in l A this last weekend and we
(27:13):
were working on a bunch of stuff. We did our
teacher Tote project, which you can go to teacher Tote
project dot com if you want to learn more about
that and how you can sponsor totes. But we worked
on our Gratitude Journal, which is something we've been talking
about for a year and we both were we knew
we wanted to do it, but we weren't excited about
it because it just wasn't coming along the way that
we wanted. It just wasn't. It's just one of those
(27:35):
things where it just wasn't there, and then all of
a sudden, we're there and things are flowing and the
ideas are coming out, and boom, we had the Gratitude Journal.
And don't say what it is yet, I mean, but
isn't it so cute? And look at the four things?
I mean, I feel like predominantly girls are gonna want
(27:57):
to carry this, But do you think guys will carry rocket? Yeah?
And I feel like Bobo would rocket my husband I
might have to do twist his arm a little bit.
But even the layout, like on the inside, like see
that how you separate the four things. So it's a
four things gratitude journal. And really it's a gratitude journal
for dummies in a sense, because Mary and I have
always been overwhelmed by journaling. It seems intimidating. I don't
(28:21):
really have anything to say or having to every day
think of things you're grateful for, like they have to
be these grandiose things and I'm thankful for blah blah blahlahlah,
when really some days it might just be simple, simple
one word and you can just fill it in, or
other days you may want to fill in more. But
we number it one to three, four, and then it's
(28:42):
just it's gonna be so perfect and I cannot wait.
It's so cute. It's everyone's gonna want this for Christmas.
I'm gonna want to give it to all of my
friends for Christmas. It's gonna be the best Christmas gift
because you can it'll be great to start the new
year off. Make that your new year's resolution, to write
down four things that you're grateful for every day. And
then we're and have sprinkled throughout the journal quotes like
(29:03):
the famous Burnet Brown one, which is, um, without gratitude,
there is no joy because that's so true. All I'll
say is it's awesome and people will love the product.
But if you really take this up. Amy talked me
into starting this four things journaling deal. I think like
the end of January, I've done it almost every day since,
and it's been a game changer and how I viewed
(29:24):
things throughout my day and so people, I mean it,
but that's cool. That's that's cooler than I thought it
was gonna be. I mean, that's that's pretty cool. I
am just so over the moon about it. And that's
when you know, Okay, boom, we've finally got it. Had
we released this a year ago, it would have been
premature and we wouldn't have been that excited, and we
just would have been making a gratitude journal to make it.
(29:44):
And now we're all in. We're ready. Mary and I
are excited. We're starting this journey with y'all because again,
writing down what you're thankful for. You hear it everywhere,
Write down what you're thankful for, and it's going to
just make your life better and we believe that. But
this is going to help us all get there, and
you don't if you can't afford to get this journal
(30:06):
or whatever. I mean. We don't have a prize this
or anything yet. And it will support Haiti as all
the spoat items do, but that's not what it's about. Like,
maybe you just on a piece of paper every night
you write down four things. You can still join us
in hashtag four things gratitude, but the journals who were real? Yeah?
I know? Okay, so um, next question, I guess one more.
(30:31):
Let someone about the milk Bar cake. Yeah, this one's easy.
So this one's from Taylor her questions about the amazing
looking cake I saw on your Instagram stories that you
had for Mary's birthday. I can't remember what you said
it was. Would you mind sharing that and where you
got it from? It is from Mamafucu milk Bar. And
the original place that we'm ordering from I believe is
(30:52):
New York, but they've expanded now. They have a store
in l A. There in d C. They're in Vegas,
but it is the Mama Fugu Milk Bar birth they cake,
and it is so good. It's the best cake ever.
Now you will pay more in shipping unless you live
in one of these places where it is you can
go buy and pick it up. I think shipping is
more because you have to overnight it because it's a cake,
(31:15):
uh than than the actual cake. But I will say
it's worth it if you're going to get your friend
a gift, or you're hosting the party, or maybe everybody
wants to kind of chip in to get this cake.
It's like so special too, a gift in itself, Like
your friend. You can ship it to them for their birthday.
If they get that the mail, they're gonna be like whoa.
And then if you're gluten free, don't worry. They just
(31:35):
recently came out with a gluten free version and we
have taste tested and they taste the same. Not even
being paid to say this, I don't even know the people,
but Mary and I like to do fun things like that,
like well, let's get one of each and taste test them,
because I would say Mary's when they introduced it to me,
she sent me one for my birthday about four years
ago and maybe even five, and and it got it
(31:58):
came in the mail and I opened it up and
I thought, what is this beautiful, fun looking, amazing tasting cake.
And it really was a special gift. And now that's
what I get everybody. Uh, it's worth it, I think,
And they have if you don't want to go full
blown cake, because again it can add up price wise.
They do have these milk bar birthday cake truffles also
(32:21):
available in gluten free, which are just as good. But again,
if you don't want to pay shipping, just wait till
you visit one of these cities or google where it is,
and then if you're ever on a work trip or something,
swing all by there. So good, Okay, sorry we didn't
get I had more questions playing for today, but I
also rambled for ten minutes at the beginning and then
got way too excited about the gratitude journal. And I know,
(32:44):
Chase you came by to read the questions though, and
now we didn't really get to all the questions. All right,
there'll be another fifth thing next week. I know. Every
Tuesday there's a fifth thing, and y'all can oh, I'll
let me address this one, just because someone was asking
if this one's from Oregon, and she was asking about
what laundry detergent I use, and she said, their son
(33:04):
is starting to have an allergic reaction and she didn't
know if there was a cleaner option. I used to
be a huge Gain Gain Gain. I loved gain a
lot back in the day. Then I started doing hot yoga.
My clothes were like sweaty all the time, and people
and they were talking about how tied sport like got
all the sweat out, like it just made your clothes
(33:25):
always smell amazing, and I got I was allergic to it.
I got this huge rash from head to toe because
I washed my sheets and everything in it. And that's
when I thought, okay, no, I need to stop it
with this detergent. And from then on I started using Myers,
which I considered to be a cleaner option than what
I was using. But anytime I talk about Myers, I
(33:46):
get emails from people saying, you know, it's not really
that clean, so I don't. That's the cleanest recommendation I
have is Myers, because that's on legit what I use,
and I really like it. It's since itative to my
skin like or my skin doesn't react from it, and
uh my all my family loves it now. But again
(34:09):
it's clean er, but it's probably not the cleanest. But
different things work for different people. Different things work for
different people. No judgment here. If you love you some
tide sport, I just personally can't use it, and myers
is where I am right now, and I'll just slowly
graduate towards washing my clothes with white vinegar. I do,
(34:29):
I do pour if you do want to get that
is a natural way to get rid of any odors
or something is white vinegar. You can add that to
the pre wash tip or soak it in white vinegar
and then wash it with normal clothes after. But no,
I don't know. I I that's one thing I have
got to do soon is flip my house when it
(34:50):
comes to household cleaners, and I want to be more
clean when it comes to that in my makeup, one
step at a time. You know, I think I'm gonna
give beauty or try so many people will tell me
about it and there's Oh, I have a review on Thursday.
I'm going to finally give my review on Drunk Elephant,
which is something I've been using on my face. That'll
(35:12):
be on Thursday. It's one of the things, along with
Little Sipper, which, by the way, we got to go
because she's I'm about to interview her for Thursday and
she's probably waiting. So that's today's Q and a over
and out roger that sorry for my rambling at the beginning.
Health None of that came across the wrong way, was it?
Any of it? Room It was good, Okay. I hope
(35:33):
everyone has a great day. Not a say
