Speaker 1 (00:10):
Cary Lone.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
She's a queen and talking and so she's getting really
not afraid to feel tens and so just let it flow.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
No one can do We quiet cary Lone's sound for Carolne.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Okay, we're back with Mattie Rickard. If you missed it.
She is twenty five, she's thriving. She is single in
the city. She owns her own business, Social Spark content creation.
She was my neighbor. I adore her. You're kind of
like a little sister to me. Like your life that
you've been living is so fun to follow. Me A
ten out of ten across the board, and we just
had some fun on the conversation. Maddie gave us an

(00:51):
insight into what it's like to be a twenty five
year old in Nashville this day and age. Yep, and
you're killing it. You're crushing the game out there, but man,
I'm trying. It is like it is like a sea
of sharks to navigate as it is.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
It's a lot, but you know, we're making it through.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
We're making it through, and you're killing it. Okay, So
y'all go check that episode out. I literally had so
much fun. I asked if someone sucked her toe thumb, No,
her finger, thumb.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
My toe, thumb your toe because it looks like a toe.
We're talking about this again.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I'm just saying, we go to really weird places, but
it's so fun. Now we're gonna do some Tell me
more when you draw three of these cards, okay, and
answer them. The sister's trying to go a little more
in depth with Matt.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
What if I don't know the answer, look within your soul.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Sonny has a leprechaun that goes around her room really fast,
and she gave her jewels for uh Saint Patrick's Day.
She said, out a trap, No, it's like a leprechaun,
and she they gave her jewels and like, she's convinced
their magic. I was like, She's like, do you think
they're magic? I'm like, well, yeah, of course their magic.
And she's like, what are their magic powers do? And
she wrote the leprechn a note and asked, and the
leprechaun wrote her back that the way to activate the

(01:57):
magic is to look within your soul, so you know
the answers and as I said, the answers are within you.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Okay, Okay, Sonny, Okay, this first one is what's one
thing about yourself you're genuinely proud of.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Oh, that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Considering our episode, I would say within the past year
and a half, like finding that drive, and like, cause
a year and a half ago, like you could have
told me I would have started my business or like
been where I am now, Like I would have like
probably still been at Whiskey Jam and like not have

(02:32):
done this. And I would say, just like the drive
I've had the past year and a half to like
go after what I want and like how I want
to live my life. And yeah, create the life of
your dream create the life of my dreams. That's what
I'm trying to do.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
You're doing it, okay.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Okay, Oh these are really good questions.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Basically you're feeling, you got the good vibes going.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
What's a personal goal you're working towards? Okay, I would
say obviously like fitness, becoming the best in the best
shape of my life. But also I would say just
becoming I would say, I want to like grow in
my faith more and just like know how to handle

(03:21):
situations and not get worked up sometimes sometimes I like
I'm a leo I have I'm a little drama, you know,
But I have.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
No idea what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
As a leo myself, we have no drama, no drama,
I think, just more of like I mean, I have
a pretty calm and understanding presence about me and go
with the flow, but like I would like to be.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
More of that.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Well, at twenty five, the fact that you're even this
aware is huge. Yeah, so you're doing great.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
So that and faith.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Okay, I love it?

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yes, okay, one more, Okay, we'll do two more, two more? Yeah, okay.
What are you pretty sure you're never hold on? What
are you pretty sure you could never get tired of
being around my family?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
What is the secret sauce for y'all's family? Like, how
do they have grown kids who love to be.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Like my sister is my best friend?

Speaker 3 (04:16):
What is it about their records? Tell me what you
think it is.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I think it's just the way my parents raised us.
And like we've always done everything together, like we've always
never like it's not like we're like obsessed with each other.
Where were the point where we don't have our own lives?
Like we all have our own daths.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Y'all all are so uniquely yourself.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
And it's just like we all have different passions. We're
all doing our own thing about the end of the
end of the day, I think we all realize that
like it all come like it all comes back to
our family, and like we always have our best interest,
even though like some of the ways we like say
that to each other, aren't you know, the nicest right,
But but.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Y'all don't hold it in either.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I feel like I think it's also our age gap,
you think, So, what do you mean? Like, I like me,
Will and Kate are all like spaced out pretty good.
What is the difference between Will and I are seventeen
months apart, Kate and I are two and a half years.
And then Finn was like the surprise baby, so he's
him and Will are ten years apart, and so like
when do is like our little child? Like he just
is just whatever? But I don't, Like, I genuinely think

(05:19):
it's the way my parents like raised us and like
we all just like have grown up like being together
and spending so much time together, like even in like
high school, like I would choose to hang out with
my siblings over my friends.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
That is amazing, you know, that is amazing.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I know, and still I still choose to hang out
with them.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Well, and I think it's too because like your family
doesn't act like things aren't happening. They don't like live
with their head under a rock about what are they
everything is like for your age and what where you
are in your life, Like you can be honest about
what you're doing, what you're what's going on. Yeah, it's
not like you have to hide stuff. Yeah, and I
think that's also good because y'all can be yourself. Yeah
don't you feel that?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Yeah, for sure, and everyone can be the and we
all are just very real with each other.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
So then you'll have the family meetings, family meetings which
we talk about the episode. I mean, I think honestly
that should be a family standard call a family meeting, Oh,
to talk about what's going on.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
It just makes sense. Yeah, like just make sure everyone's
on the right track.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
So I love it.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Okay, yeah, okay, watch this be a hard question.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
I hope.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
When you look back at your life so far, what's
something you're surprised you did, chose, tried or became.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Oh what if I tried? I tried a lot. I
auditioned for Disney Channel as an actress. I auditioned for
Disney Channel when I was fifteen. My mom like me

(07:00):
and my mom flew out to LA.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Had you ever acted before? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
I was. I was the lead in my middle school play.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Well, duh?

Speaker 4 (07:06):
You destined for drama?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I mean, if you weren't made for Disney w would?
I mean your confidence too? Though?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
But I didn't make it, which I'm glad I didn't. Like,
I don't think I could have survived the.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
What were you trying out for?

Speaker 4 (07:19):
It was actually like I auditioned in front of the
lady that cast Good luck, Charlie.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Were you singing too?

Speaker 4 (07:26):
That was the second round? If I made it. I
didn't make it to the second round. But it was
funny because like a lot of the people, I didn't
even care cast as an extra, where a lot of
people got cast as an extra and I didn't.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Were you nervous?

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Do you feel like I had a script?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Do you feel like you delivered?

Speaker 4 (07:40):
I mean I was fifteen, but when I.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Left your audition where you're like, man, I just know
crushed that. No.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
But once again, Maddie, my mom was just like my
mom was just like, let's audition for Disney Channel. Let's
fly to La on board. Oh yeah. And then we
were at the hotel and I remember the bell how
guy literally wrote me a note and left me his
chocolate covered strawberries and said good luck at your audition.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
But here's the thing, Maddie, you always go for it
and looking back, and that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
My mom like put that encouraged day.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, She's like, Okay, you want to try, let's try,
let's go. Yeah fun and had fun with it.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
And that's the thing too, is it's like it all
adds to the big tapestry of your life. Yeah, the
fact that you started like going for things at a
young age, even though you're not an actress and it
didn't work out in that way. It's like you had
a dream and you're like, let's try it. Yeah, why not?
And that serves you well, that's been your m I
am here you are. Yeah, okay, Maddie, thank you so

(08:35):
much for coming on and so much fun to your
first podcast?

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Was so much fun?

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Was it great?

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Do you feel like it was any Were you nervous?
Did you get over that fast?

Speaker 4 (08:44):
I was nervous in the beginning, as you could tell.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
But no, now it's fine. We just went all the
way in we did. Yeah, your whole life is now recorded,
the whole story. Oh god. So everyone check out social spark.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Yeah, you gotta get the middle. You hold the hold
the microphone.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
We're gonna answer a question.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Should we answer a question together? Okay, you're ready. You
hold the microphone. Okay, why don't you draw one? Sonny?
Draw part and then Maddie will read.

the favorite moment you've had in your life so far?

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Ever? Was the best moment of your life? I'll go first.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
The best moment of my life was when Sonny was born.
It was hands down the greatest moment of my entire life.
Meeting you and getting to be your mom. It was
the greatest day of my life. Nothing compared.

You know that. And Kirby, kurryy, We've talked about this, Sonny.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Then you have it, my beard dragon? Are you scared
of a bearded dragon? Now?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Don't you walk Kirby on a leash? What do you
think outside in the grass?

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (10:42):
How did Kirby think about the grass? Her beard went out?
She was nervous, her bearding out, and she opened her
mouth and she was like, Mattie was what's the best
moment of your whole life? Ruby?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Oh? Gosh, that's a I mean, I'm gonna all say

moment in the past few years of your life?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Meeting Sonny.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yeah, meeting Caroline and Sonny.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
That was the best moment.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
It actually was one of the top moments. But I
would say moving to like just like the whole time
period of living in this neighborhood that was like just
the best time, the best time, like all of us,
like we were in I was in school, so I
didn't have a job or anything, you know, we were
just like all hanging out. I feel like I literally
watched Sonny grow up?
