a great interview. We've been from thisbut twenty years our
lives have just gone full circle and now we're both
married with little girls. And you have an incredible farm
called Little Pond Farm where people can come use it
as a backdrop as an event space.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
It's absolutely stunning.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Thank you you have it.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I mean, you have really created something so magnificent with
your family, and it's full of love, so very blessed.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
I'm so proud of you. Nancy. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
We talked about all of it, your past, dating life, divorce,
when you were modeling. You've been on the cover of
one hundred magazines, little ones, but yeah, I mean magazine
is a magazine. It was a great interview. So now
let's do tell me more. So draw three cards that are.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Calling to you.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay, do I look at it well drawn first, and
then we'll look at Okay, okay, okay, let's see what
they say.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Okay, any order, I picked you whatever, what's something you
want and are also a bit afraid of.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Interesting?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Okay, I want more airbnbs.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
You have airbnbs.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
We do.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
You don't know this, but I'm afraid of the worst.
We have one in downtown Franklin. It's where we lived
when I was pregnant. But there was it was it's
a you know, a historic you know, nineteen thirties. There
was not a lot of room, so we need a more.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Room for the middle of downtown Franklin.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Oh yeah, it's in the heart of downtown Franklin. And
I love it.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
I would die a thousand deaths if anything ever happened.
It's like, we would never sell it. That is my
like heart. It's my heart. Yeah, I love it and
I and it's been a great experience having the airbab's
and I really want more. It's it's it's a lot
of work, So I don't know why. That's the first
thing that came to my mind. Yes, so we have
one in Leaper's Fork Fork, Yes, yes, and the Hardly

(02:37):
Burst Fork too. Yes, honey, we have downtown Franklin Liper's Fork.
And then we just got one in the Laguna Beach
area in Florida, So it's right next to thirty A.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
And Inlet Beach.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Does Jin have one there?

Speaker 4 (02:51):
She does, She has one in Laguna Beach.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Okay, my former bandmate an amazing race partner. Everyone listening,
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Yeah, So I love it. I love you. I want
oh yeah, oh yeah, because it pays for itself. You
get to go vacation there.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
And I mean, honestly, the downtown Franklin one prays for
everything we're doing. I mean it is so booked all
the time. It's crazy. Oh I bet, it's amazing. And
so I really want and this falls under the travel
So it's basically something that I want, but I'm also
a little afraid of I want it because I want
the investment. I want to you know, set holding up,
you know, for her future, and I want to start

(03:27):
creating more memories. So I want to buy one in
Lake Tahoe because we go there every fourth of July.
It's our it's a tradition. We love it. His parents
actually have a cabin, but it's not like, you know,
in the thick of things where kind of we want
to be. So I want to buy an Airbnb there
and just kind of stuff. But it scares me because

(03:48):
California tax is and because of just taking care of
it so far away. I mean at least Floorida is
a six hour drive, you know. And anyways, so that.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Was that's totally gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
It seems like.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
A deep kind of question, and I kind of did
as a little surface the answer. But I mean, in
all fairness in the interview, I kind of got deep.
So what you know, take what you can get doing it.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Buying a house is a deep issue. It brings out
all sorts of things in your life.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Oh, that's one of the top four most stressful situations
that you can get yourself in.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yes, okay.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
What's something you think people tend to assume about you
when they meet you for the first time. Well, I
get this every time. I mean, this is going to
be a little surface too, they feel. They always ask
me if I've done anything to myself.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, I mean, because it looks I have, because you're
so beautiful.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Thank you, and because of my age, I guess because
next year I'm going to be fifty.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Air Man.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
We go to this gym now called Lifetime, and there's
all these older ladies in the dressing room who are
just butt ass naked. And one was in there, she
was like dancing with her boobs hanging out. She's like, yeah,
girl had One woman had like a procedure on her face.
She had a big bruise and she said, I used
to care in my twenties, And she's like, now I
could give a rats ass, because when you get older,

(05:09):
you really cares.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Don't care who are we trying to impress?

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Right, And when you find your bliss and when you
find your the things that complete you, you don't give
a shit what anybody thinks no or what anybody like
says about you or anything like that, you don't care.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
You really just don't. Do you have it all?

Speaker 5 (05:25):
You have that happiness, you have that piece, that's the thing.
You have, the peace.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
And what a privilege to be fifty, you know, yeah,
exactly amazing to you to live.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
This life and to be in this spot that you're
so happy and to have these years.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah I know.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Now, I mean, I don't know if I'll be singing
the same tune in five years. If I start to
get a little you know, I'm not too crazy about
this in this but like you know whatever. I mean,
it's there because of my memories and of because of
my laughing and because of.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
My life and living and experiences.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
So right now I'm comfortable, you know, I you know,
I have this and I have this, and you can
all pick her off apart exactly. I'm happy my husband
loves me. My husband does not, you know, he would
not want me to do any of these things.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
So hey, if.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
He loves me, that's all the matters, all the matters exactly.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Also, you have a little girl and you want to
you know, show her, show her with.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Herself, to be happy with herself without you know.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Having a terrible part and build it back up.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
Because God only knows, Like what's gonna what's gonna come
out of this, like in ten years, like with the
ozembic thing and every and all the people like having
all these like I mean, I guess we kind of
knew that a little bit. You know, you can't just
you never know the sex, Yeah, exactly. What's something you
lost or misplaced that you still think about?

Speaker 4 (06:46):
My mind?

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Really, gosh, that's a hard one.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Do you want to do another one?

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Okay, let's pass it.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
But I want to tell you oh do you have.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
It's a yeah, it's but it's so stupid and about
It's just it's this shirt that I had in middle school,
a shirt a shirt in middle school.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
That I was like.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
It just bothered me because I was like, whatever happened
to that shirt?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Do you even know any clothes that you had in
middle school?

Speaker 4 (07:14):
I'll never forget it.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
It was ugly and it was it was idiot. Every
day I think about it at least once a year.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
That's very odd. It is odd.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
Don't we can completely cut this out? But it was
white and green stripes.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Why did it make such an ideo?

Speaker 4 (07:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
I think maybe maybe I got in trouble for losing
it and and imprinted me. Maybe, Okay, but I can't
think of anything else off the top of my head,
like I lost that? Where is it? Where is it?
But I'm sure there's other things. Can I have a
different question?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Thanks?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Okay, we'll wrap it up on this.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
What's the one thing about yourself you're genuinely proud of
just persisting with my andertility journey and my prayer and
just just making it happen and not giving up, not

(08:10):
giving up until I got her because there were so
many times when I was like, you know, is this
a sign? You know?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Should I give up?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Now?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Should I stop? I'm going to be forty five, you know,
I can't do this anymore. Like she's going to be,
you know, five when I'm fifty, and like all the
things you know go through your mind. And I am
just so proud of myself. The way I took care
of myself to be able to carry her, to be
able to have such a beautiful, peaceful, easy pregnancy, and

(08:42):
the way I've been raising her. I'm just really proud
of that.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I love that. I mean, that's the best thing you
could ever say to yourself, is that you're proud of
yourself as a mother. Yeah, you know, especially growing up
when you felt like you didn't have the best situation.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Yes, exactly. I was shown not what to do. So
I just make everything special for her. I don't care
if it seems over the top or whatever. People make
fun of me. I don't care because I want her
to have these memories, and I want her to have
these traditions, and I want her to feel loved and
safe and.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Special.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Well, crushing the game, Nancy, Thank you for crushing the game.
Thank you so much for joining me. This is so fun.
After twenty years, I'm so glad we finally podcasted.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
It's about time. It is about time. Okay, cheers, Love you,
Love you too.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Bye bye

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
