Speaker 1 (00:09):
Carry Line. She's a queen and talking song. She's getting
really not afraid to feel episode soul. Just let it flow.
No one can do we quiet carry Line is sounding Carolne.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Hey, we're back with Roman Alexander. We had a very
soulful chat on Monday. He is crushed in the game.
You went viral with cocktail Conversations. That's the one. Yeah
in between you and me. Actually cook. You have just
like had some serious, massive waves of success. You had
this dream since you're eight years old singing in bars

(00:50):
with your uncle. Was that it?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, that's true, Okay, And.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Now you have a new p ep coming out called
Midwest calling you Love the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
I do you love where you're from? I love the people.
I love the food, a lot of gravy and ranch dressing,
and I just I don't know, I love I'm just
proud of where I'm from. You know, my family side
came from Mexico, so they settled in the Midwest. They
could have chose anywhere in the world, and they chose
the Midwest. You know, maybe because that's they had no choice.

(01:19):
But you learn to love where you're from, and I've
learned that that's that's where I'm from, and I embrace it.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
That's awesome. I love it so much. Okay, so we
usu all like three or so cards. Everyone speak to you.
Those both want to go? You have taken both?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay, Okay, I think I got time. Let's go right there.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Okay, don't, don't don't.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
What does it say? What's the theme of these cards?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
You'll see?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Okay, yeah, just go one time.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You're gonna just know what the theme is as soon
as you here we go. Okay, if you'll be to hoppy,
I got you.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
What's what's a gift someone gave you that you'll never forget?
You know what?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
We can't do this one. This has been around like
three times. Try again unless there's a really great gift
that will there be. Is there a great gift that
you've never forgotten?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah? Not really. I mean, like I think I've gotten
a lot of great gifts so that I haven't.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
What was your favorite gift?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
My oh, my first guitar? My mom got it for
thirty bucks? Oh heck, yeah, it still sounds like better
than some of my thousand dollars guitars.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
And I saw that you give away guitar sometimes to fans.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
So I've started to. I'm like, that's a new thing.
I like really wanted to. I've always wanted to do that.
And I didn't always want to be a cheap guitar
because I've been given like a cheap guitar before, like
won in like a contest a long time ago, and
it was just I got home and I'm like, this
thing sucks. I can't stay in tune. So yeah, I
gave one. During cmfest, I gave a guitar to a
kid in the front row, and it was my intention

(02:40):
to give the guitar away. I just there was a
bunch of drunk team, like you know, drunk adults, and
I'm like, they're probably just going to give the guitar away.
You know, they're not gonna carry that around cmfes. But
that kid he took it, and like his parents came
up to me and were like, he's been like really
wanting to play guitar. It's been like his dream to
play guitar. So we're glad he has a guitar now.
And I went and made sure it was a good,

(03:01):
high quality guitar. I asked the person the guitar story said,
I'm not giving them a shit guitar. I want to
make sure they have a guitar that they can actually
learn on.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
So yeah, got okay, that's the one you picked. Okay,
all right? Uh what's a little thing other people do
that always means a lot to you When they don't
just say nice to see you, and you know you've
never seen them before, and they say it's nice to
meet you something like about it, It's just like, hey,
it's nice to meet you. I'm like there you go like, hey,

(03:29):
we've never we've never met before, Like, hey.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Nice to meet you.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
It's so nice to meet you too. Yeah, that that
means a lot to me. I think just when people
are just nice, I just you genuinely know, like you
can tell when somebody is like they have the like
they have to be nice, you know, or they're just
that's just like they're putting on a face. And you
genuinely know, like whenever I showed up and you came
out and you greeted, it could tell you were a hugger,

(03:53):
you know, like that's you're genuinely being nice. You know,
you we have a choice being nice as a choice,
and so when people are nice, it means a lot
to me.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I love that. Yeah, okay, let's see your other two.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, if you can make a wish come true for
someone else, what would it be? Gosh? I have a
lot of those my dad. This sounds very materialistic. I'm
sure there's some amazing ones I could think of, but
this one always comes to mind. My dad has His
dream was to be a race car driver. That was
like his dream. Maybe that's why I'm always like, maybe

(04:24):
that's the therapy side of it that I'm trying to
chase racing. I don't know. My dad's passion for racing
is certainly much stronger than mine. I mean, you can
tell you everything you want to know about racing, whether
it's the NASCAR, Indie or a Formula One, you name it,
he knows it. It's got four wheels. His dream is
always to have been to have like a Ferrari. He's
not like any kind of just like super expensive Ferrari.

(04:46):
The one he wants is like, you know, not cheap,
but it's like seventy five thousand bucks. And I'm like,
that would be like so cool one day to just
give him a Ferrari. You know, the maintenance on it
would be fun. But that's that's something and I always
think about It's like I would love to just give
my parents, like whether it's just retire them or just
to be able to do that, you know, something small
like that's not small, but small things, you know, that's

(05:08):
what matters.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I love that. Yeah, Okay, what's your last one?

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Okay? If you could reconnect with one person from your past,
who would be my grandpa? I mean for obvious reasons.
I think for myself as I mean, I would say
if there's one person I would can introduce anybody to
be him, just sit him down for a day, you know,
and just be like or even if I had twenty
minutes with him, you know, so that's cool.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
What would you want to do with them?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Well, he liked red wine. I don't really like red wine.
I think I drink so much of it that I would.
I think I would sit and finally have a glass
of red wine with him, you know, And he always
always smelt like it. This sounds so bad. My grandpa
kind of smelt like what's the what's the clone? The uh?

(05:55):
Old men wear like aquafor or whatever it's a blue
velvet or whatever it's called. You know what I'm talking about.
The old man cologne. He always smelt like that, and
his bread smelt like red wine. And sometimes like you
eat a Bolooney sandwich, so is it you go? Hey,
sme like red wine and Blooney likes a feast for
the cens Yeah, and it was like that's kind of

(06:16):
like what he was just he grew up really really
really really poor and so he was like a he
had a champagne taste on a beer budget. But then
he eat blowing sandwich. So yeah, I like that's I
think I'd just have a glass red wine him probably
eat a blowing sandwich if I could not have, you know,
ten minutes with them. So I love that.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Well, Roman Alexander, thank you so much for joining me
in Midwest Calling is coming out August.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Twenty second second, yeah, I think it's twenty sing right,
twenty seconds.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Okay, cannot wait. Thank you so much for coming on.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
