the sixth time this season, gettinghis third start. Tucker has a two
and old record with a three pointseven eight er in sixteen and two thirds

(03:15):
innings pitched on the season. He'sallowed opponents to bat two forty two on
the year, allowing sixteen hits, eleven runs, nine earned runs. He's
given up two walks and two hitbatters, and Tucker has recorded seventeen strikeouts,
which is we solid number in sixteenand two third innings, so he's
averaging slightly more than a strikeout perrunning and Tucker his whip walks plus hits.

(03:38):
The botobatings pitch one point five onthe season, and presuming that the
starting pitcher for Lincoln, Jaker Bennett, did not pitch for the rail Splitters

(03:59):
for a couple of nights back andthey're sweep of a tumwe let's see if
I can pull up the numbers herefor their NAH starting pitcher, Jacker Bennett,

(05:08):

Cyclones. His catcher is eight andnine. Carter Gaffer at first base easton
middle stat is the second baseman,Brandon Bielner at third, Austin Gabriels in
the shortstop, Josh Motible starting left, Logan beer Key in center field,

(05:29):
Grafton Linder is in right field.Names not changing up the uniforms, going
back to the white jerseys and whitepants, orange lettering with aims and arch
to letters across the front and orangeand the small number on the front,
big number on the back and orangeblack trim for the Little Cyclones, the
White Caps with the black Cyclone logoand the black bill Lincoln also saying with

(05:51):
the same look the pullover style jerseyswith maroon as the primary color, gold
letters and numbering Lincoln straight across thefront of those jerseys and gold a small
number on the front, a bignumber of the back, maroon and white
trim, gray pants, white hatswith a black logo and black or make

(06:14):
that a maroon logo a maroon billfor de Moine Lincoln. We are set
to get underway. Here in thenightcap, Charles Tucker on the mound.
Michael Estes, leadoff batter for therail Splitters, eighty three degrees at first
pitch as we get underway with aball low to Estes, who reached twice,
actually reached all three times he cameup in Game one, two hits

(06:36):
and a walk. He drove intwo runs in the opener, the one
oh pitch from Tucker. This onehit towards center. Beer Key driving back,
He's got a long way to go. It's over his head and off
the fence. The biddle as hepicked it up and winks it back towards

(06:58):
the endfield sts a leadoff double, his third hit between the two games,
and he gets the Lincoln offense startedquickly. You're in game two. Lincoln
got leadoff runner on in each ofthe four innings they batted in Game one.

(07:21):
Now Mason Fritz stepping in, struckout and hit into two fielder's choice
outs as he takes a strike onthe outside corner. Fritz drove in a
run with one of those in theopener, one strike count. Stucker looks

(07:46):
at the runner at second the pitchis the called strike? Actually, Fritz
went around. On that he triedto check his swing, but the home
plate umpire said he went too farand thats strike two. Tucker, the
right hander, livers his tap backto him. He looks at third,

(08:07):
spot around and looked at third again. Finally throws the first in time to
get Fritz. But he thought acouple of times about going to try to
get the runner ast Us, andif Tucker had thrown the third the first
time, that's just would have beentrapped, certainly, but he didn't realize
that in time. Then he spunaround again, took another look. By
that time Estes was too close tothird, but still had time to get

(08:28):
Fritz on the one three grounder atfirst asked us up to third with one
down. Hayden Waca the batter forde Moine Lincoln, and he takes high
four ball. Waka in Game onereached three times, two singles and a
fielder's choice. He was trying onbase all three times. It's one in

(08:54):
the air fall territory, and thenit's going to go out of play.
One ball, one strike count walk. A right handed batter taps to play
this. Tucker looks in for thesign from miss catcher nigh. Here's the

(09:16):
one. One pitch, it's acurveball, it's high walk a ducking down
and he takes ball too. Theowner about even with the bag at third.
Rest of the infield is back Berkyshaded towards left as the center fielder.
This one's hit behind the air shortright, racing out is the second

(09:39):
basement, racing in the right fielder. Lender takes charge and makes the grab
and the runner will hold at thirdand Lender did the right thing by taking
charge there since he was coming in. He was a good position to get
himself to set to throw if needed. If the infielder, middle stat or
Geffrey the first spaceman and made thecatch like they had their backs to the

(10:03):
infield and would have made a tougherplay to try to get asked us if
you wanted to move up first pitchswinging a line shot to straight away center,
it's gonna hang up long enough forbeer Key to make the catch off
the bat of Gage Decker. Andwith that little Cyclones and Charles Sucker work
around in the leadoff double did notallow a score A run to score on
the top of the first games comingup in the bottom half after a scoreless

(10:26):
first. This is a Little Cyclonesbaseball in Newstok fourteen thirty k sigol.
Score is in the top half ofthe first aims coming up in the bottom
half. Grafton Linder, Carter andGeffrey Austin. Gabriel Sin will start things
off against the right hander Jagger Bennett. He was the starting catcher in the

(10:48):
opening game of tonight's twin Bill'll throwthe Hayden walk of the catcher. He
was a WAKA. Started at shortin left field, I should say in
Game one, moved to catch herlater in the game. Now starts to

(11:09):
catch her here in Game two.Gabe Ruley starts at first base, land
In Walter's the second baseman, GageDecker at third, Mason Fritz the shortstop
on the outfield for Lincoln. CarsonBower is in left field, airing Guerrero,
and center Michael Estes out in rightfield, rafting Lender to start it
off. Rames he reached three ofthe four times he came to the plate

(11:33):
in Game one, including an RBIsingle part of a ten run third inning
that broke the game open for theLittle Cyclones on their way to the twenty
three five victory. And there's acalled strike on the inside corner to the
left handed batting lender. Then itholds the balls glove about head high as
he looks in now delivers and bringsanother strike basically the same spot there.

(11:56):
And he got strike one. Andhe works quickly as well. And here's
a flying to leap, but we'removing over towards the gap. Hits the
brakes as he gets under it andmakes the catch for the out A way
brings up Carter Geffrey with the basesempty and a zero zero ball game.

(12:16):
Geoffrey two singles, a walk, also reached on fielder's choice, drove in
two runs in Game one, alsoscored all four times as he takes this
one eye off his shoulder for ahit batter. Benett trying to snap off
a curve ball there but didn't geta good grip on it. Geffrey down

(12:41):
to first on the hit batter. Here's Austin Gabrielson. Gabrielson with three RBIs,
two doubles, a single, oneto fly out in the opening contest,
pitches low for a ball. Jeffreystands down first with one out,

(13:05):
gets his lead. Now is reallyholds him on. The pitch is lowing
into Gabrielson for ball two deckers, maybe a step or two at most behind
the bag at third when the pitchis delivered, double play depth up the
middle for the rail splitters throw overas Geffrey dives back two balls and no

(13:28):
strikes to Gabrielson, and he drivesone to center. Guerrero drifting over into
the gap now and left field andmakes the catches. He put that one
away. It was well struck byGabrielson, but didn't hang up or didn't
get down fast enough, hung upin the air long enough for Guerrero to
get over to that one. Jeffreyholds it first and eight and nine the

(13:54):
batter with two down in the gameshalf of the first game tied at zero,
and I was the DH in gameone and you walked twice, got
hit by a pitch twice and scoredall four times. Pitch outside from Benna,

(14:16):
throw down to first, diving back, Geffrey out of the tag from
rulely better trying to record it andout it on Nie for the first time
to night. Here's the one zeroand it's just inside two balls, no

(14:39):
strikes. Tonight who's catching the nightcap. Two balls, no strikes, and
here's a drive to center going backGuerrero as he looks up and it's off
the fence. It bounces back towardsthe infield. Geoffrey will round third.

(15:00):
He's gonna try to score. Hewill without a play as nine delivers a
double to drive in the first runof the game. Little Cyclones lead it
one nothing in the first nine withhis twenty second RBI of the season comes
on his tenth double. Judd Simpsonwill be the courtesy runner for the Little

(15:28):
Cyclones. Serve the same role ingame one. So he stands at second
with two down, names now leading. Lincoln won nothing in the first Brandon
Bielner stepping to the plate. Hehad a monster night, a single,
a walk, a double, anda grand slam. Nine RBIs for Biellner
in the opener, and the longlook back to second, steps up and

(15:56):
throws to nobody in particular. Actually, the palm would monst off Simpson.
He was heading towards the bag,but Fritz, the shortstop was not,
and the throw was more towards Fritzthan it was the bag and deflected off
towards Walter's The second basement picking itup. Here's the pitch to be owner,

(16:18):
and he takes outside Simpson by theway leading the little cyclones and steals
player off the bat of Bilner outof play if memory serves, since he

(16:53):
did not record a steal. InGame one, he was a flyball down
the right field line, long runfor Estes and it drop up into Foule
territory. That's just step or twoaway as he tried to race over to
get it. One ball, twostrikes to be on her. With two

(17:23):
down, runner on second, aimsof the run in the first to take
an early lead. Simpson, leadingfrom second short stop Fritz lunging towards the
bag initially his bitches in the dirt, bounces away from Waka and down to
third go Simpson. Baca was ableto get his chest protector around it,

(17:44):
but bounced off to the first baseside. Simpson on the move quickly to
move up to third. On thewild pitch. Two and two to be
on her, and I hit himball runs inside a fastball that just clipped
Bielner before he could slide out ofthe way. Second hit batter of the

(18:07):
inning, foot by Bennett sends Bielnerto first, Simpson at third and to
catch her walk out to the moundto talk with Bennett is Josh Modal gets
set to bat with the win.Earlier, Ames recorded recorded this nineteenth victory

(18:29):
of the seasons for passing last season'swin total seventeen wins in the last twenty
games for the Little Cyclones seven gamewinning streak, longest of the season.
Aimes had a six game winning streakearlier. Bennett's to Modal and a bouncer

(18:56):
to the right side Walters. Itbounces off him and into short right field.
Run scores from third to Simpson comesacross. Bielner will race to thirties,
held there as Modal slides into second. That it was a tricky play
for Walters. He was actually breakingtowards second and then had to reverse course
and raise to his left try toget to the ball and deflects off him

(19:19):
into short right go down as ahit unofficially to bring home a run.
Modal on second, Bielner on third. After Simpson scores to make a two

(19:40):
nothing a Little Cyclones, Bobby Youthyou the batter and he swings and miss
at the first offering. It's offthe glove of Waka rolls away and runner
will score. Buielner across standing upon a past ball. Youth. He
had swung and missed at that one, and it went off the glove of

(20:03):
the catcher. Walka couldn't squeeze it. Three runs in the first for Ames
and a one strike count to Youth. He he takes a strike on the
outside corner. Youth, he startedat thirty game one and hit a home
run in game or in the secondending a solo shot to left and was

(20:25):
removed defensively in favor of Charles Stucker, who added a couple of times in
game one as well. And here'sa called strike three Youth. He couldn't
pull the trigger on that one asit's HiT's the outside corner and that ends
the ending. But Aames gets threein the first and little Cyclones lead to
Moying Lincoln three nothing. This isAimes High Baseball and new Stock fourteen thirty
kayes I three nothing Aimes leading toMoyne Lincoln after one inning of play in

(20:52):
game two of this double header,Cyclones looking for a sweet Carson Boer,
Josh Kirby, Jagger Bennett looking todo something about that here in the second
inning. Michaelasi's let off with adouble in the first, but ended up
stranded at third as Mason fritz inWaka and Gage Decker were retired in order
to end the inning. Number CharlesTucker on for a second inning of work.

(21:18):
But we're stepping in his first plateappearance of the night, didn't play
in Game one, and he takesa strike on the outside corner from Tucker.
You know, I don't have upto date the batting numbers for Lincoln
to pass along. One strike deliveryin the dirt, one ball, one

(21:47):
strike counts to Boer. Pucker goesfrom the wind up and the pitch is
high and away. Two balls anda strike we can head coach Jacob Hugan
in the third base coaching box. He's assisted by Delbert Enos and Cole Hannon.

(22:12):
Swinging a miss strike two its breripped in came up empty. Names
coach nicksteine Hagan, assisted by MaryBachman and Ryan Bohan Nor de Vinnie,
Matt Fouls, Cam Golf Tracy Geffrey, Regan Metcalfe, and Gunner Wyatt.
It's a pitch from Tucker. It'sjust off the outside corner for ball three.
Full count de Boor leading off thesecond from the wind up, the

(22:44):
pitch from Tucker tap foul third baseside. So we'll do it again,
Bier and we step for two behindthe baseline at third and feel deep the
rest of the way. Berky shadedtowards left the pull side for Booer curveball

(23:07):
in there called strike three as thathits the outside corner. Boor is the
first strikeout victim for Tucker one awayin the top of the second Aames Tigh

a tune up, oil change,or other repairs, shop locally.

called two three two six zero zerothree coming at twenty nine O five south

(23:30):
Duff first pitch to Josh Kirby asa ball outside. Kirby dh here in
game two is the first baseman ingame one and RBI single Sandwiched between two
strikeouts. He takes a strike andjust catches the low end of the zone

(23:51):
there to make it one and one. It's on is out here for starting
game two. Still very warm eightytwo degrees. There's a called strike.
Kirby started his bat and held up, but the pitch was in there,
and it's one and two. Wins. Died down a bit from game one,
closer to ten, maybe fifteen milesan hour at the top Gus,

(24:15):
but after a breezy Game one,a little more stillness in the air for
Game two. Tucker just off theplate with that delivery. Two balls and
two strikes. Nobody on for Lincolnand the top of the second one away,

(24:36):
aims in front. Three nothing.Tucker's two two pitch a little low
perhaps is there and wraps off thecorner. They're trying to hit the outer
edge to the right handed batting Kirbyonce again a full count to the Lincoln
batter Sucker with the payoff pitch. It's hid in the air towards center.

(25:03):
Berkey drifting back, still looking upas he goes back, reaches out,
makes the catch just a step ortwo in front of the fence out there.
He holds on for the grab andtwo away. Berkey, it was
just focused in. I'm following thatball. He never took his eye off
and tracked it all away all theway to the warning track out there and

(25:29):
stuck in his glove for the secondout. Here's Yeaker Bennett with the base
is empty for De Moine Lincoln, and the first pitch is called a strike
to the rail splitters pitcher then itwas a starting catcher in game one.

(25:51):
A couple of popouts and he strikeout as he takes inside. One ball,
one strike nigh with the sign Tuckerto the wind up and this one's
laced into left. That'll be ahit a minute. With the second knock

(26:15):
of the game for Des Moines Lincoln. Anthony Moyst will be the courtesy runner
for the pitcher. He'll take overat first with two down beams up by
three and landon Walter's the batter duringthe start at second base in this one

(26:38):
didn't play. In Game one.Tucker had retired five straight batters after lead
off double in the first, butnow two out single in the second puts
the rail split around first. Firstpitch to Walters is high. He started

(26:59):
his back at hell off in plentyof time. One ball, no strikes,
Walter's deep in the back box aboutwin the middle, slightly open stance.
One old pitch just above the letters. Two balls and no strikes to
Walters. Berkey again shaded towards left. With the right handed batter at the

(27:29):
plate, two old pitches low andTucker falls behind three and zero to the
number eight batter in the Lincoln lineup, Aaron Guerrero on deck, Moist gets
his lead from first. Tuck withthe lookover now steps off and throws scrambling

(27:51):
back. Moist wops back onto thebag head first. Here's the three out
of Walters fastball is in there, knee high strike and Walter's locked in with

(28:17):
a three ball and one strike countand it's inside. That's ball four.
First walk given up by Tucker. Two runners own with two down, four
de moine Lincoln in the second bringnothing, aimes lead with Aaron Guerrero coming
to the plate. The center fielderfor the rail splitters well for two reached

(28:41):
out an error and grounded out inthe opening game. Had a chance to
get to Lincoln on the board. Here in the second with two on and
two out and with the runners going, and the pitch is filed off at
the plate actually deflected off nigh andhe takes a extra second to gather himself.

(29:07):
Barrero's the best contribution in game onecame in the center field. He
made a and then outstanding diving playon a fly ball as he doves straight
towards the infield to make a highlightreal type of grab the one strike pitch
it's called strike two, breaking thelower end of the strike zone to get

(29:33):
a head O and two. Tuckerlooking to take down Guerrero and strand a
couple of rail splitters. Here inthe second Gabrielson the shortstop a couple steps
towards second base, trying to keepthe runner close. Its pitch is low
and nice. Scooting to his rightto snare that throw keeps some runners in

(29:59):
place. Now one and two countto Guerrero. Tucker sets at the belt
and the pitch outside backhanded by Nigha two and two count to Guerrero right

(30:22):
hand batter stands deep in the box. Tucker, leaning in, gets the
sign I'll throw over the first Nobody'shome and scrambling over to get a Geffreys,
Tucker threw towards the bag. Geffreywas playing behind the runner. Quick

(30:44):
reaction by Geffrey to get to thatball and prevent an error. Now the
two two to Guerrero. This islow for the third time in an inning.
Tucker goes to a full count ona batter, bring to to Guerrero
with Estis on deck, runners willstart from first and second the pitch load

(31:08):
for ball four. They're loaded singleand two walks, both with two outs,
but rail splitters on every base withAames leading three nothing two outs in
the top of the second and hereins Estes, who doubled to lead off
the game. That'st This was abig part of the sweep for Lincoln on

(31:33):
Monday against Attumwa. As he takesthe ball from Tucker. He had an
RBI in the nightcap, which thehighest scoring game against the Bulldogs. Here's

(31:57):
a solid round ball Pa asked todiving Bielder into left field. Moist will
score, Walters will try to score. He dives in just ahead of the
throw from Mortal one hopper to NieAss just drives in two with a single,
Roro moving up to second as therail splitters cut the games lead to

(32:21):
one. Now with three to twoscore four straight batters reaching for Lincoln with
two outs now Mason Fritz the battercheck swing at the first offering but went
too far. BRIT's also a bigpart of the Lincoln sweep of a Tama

(32:44):
Monday. In fact, he stolehome in the first game of that double
header, Robin two with a singleand the fourth enning of that game,
swinging a miss at the pitch fromTucker jumps in front oh and two.

(33:07):
In the nightcap, which Lincoln one, sixteen to twelve. Fritz went five
for five in that game, puttinga double in RBI and four runs scored.
Swinging a miss at a curveball outside, Fritz goes down on a strike's
second strikeout of the game or Tucker, but three two runs. Pardon me

(33:27):
for Lincoln with two ounce in thesecond and after one and a half,
Ames clings to a three to twolead. This is a little Cyclones baseball.
Three to two aims leading after Lincolnscored two in the top half of
the second. Little Cyclones, We'llhave Charles Tucker, Logan Berkey, and
Grafton Linder due up in the bottomhalf of the second facing Jagger Bennett,

(33:50):
who hit two batters, gave upan RBI double to eight and nine and
an RBI single and Josh Mortal inthe first inning, leading to the three
aims run, all scoring with twoouts. Tucker leading off the second frames,

(34:13):
he came on as a defensive replacementfor Bobby Youth. He at third
base. After Youth he at Homard, and then Tucker batted twice, walking
and striking out in the twenty threeto five Aims win in Game one,

(34:34):
right handed batter facing the right handedpitcher Bennett and the first pitch is a
ball Aims in the middle of avery busy week in terms of games pitches
low for ball to an Oz startedon Monday with road sweep Waterloo ease games

(35:00):
went down to Slater to defeat Ballardin a single game last night, Ground
one hopper towards Fritz, but it'sjust out of his reach. Try to
stab at it with the love therewas hit sharply and Tucker with the third
hit of the game for Ames leadoff that her on in the second inning.

(35:22):
Ian Jurgensen will be the courtesy runnerfor the Aames pitcher Logan Berky,
stepping in betting out of the ninthslot. He was also in the ninth
slot Game one, but he reachedthree times, including two doubles to go
along with a single drove in tworuns, all from the bottom of the

(35:43):
order. Throw the first chases Jurgensenback the first Jurgensen hasn't attempted to feel
yet he's a for over diving back. He might. He was a little

(36:09):
shaken up after that one. Heneeds some assistance from coach Geffrey, just
as coach Gene Haagan was starting overfrom the third base side and looking for
a trainer to come out and help. Thumbs up from Jurgensen. He was
initially reaching for his shoulder swinging apop up behind the home plate, but

(36:31):
that's out of play. Off tothat of beer Key. Strike one to
the games center fielder Flames of thedoubleheader Monday, a single game last night
too tonight, and then two moretomorrow with Marshalltown coming to Ames for a
Senior Night twin bill, and itjust misses on the pitch of beer Key.

(36:57):
It's one and one and Eames turnsaround. He got another busy week
next week with double header at MasonCity Monday, it's lowing away to beer
Key two and one games will headup to Gilbert next Tuesday, and then
a double header with the Fourth Dodgeon Thursday. Then wraps up IOWA Allions

(37:19):
Conference play. Here's a two oneand it's in there. Strike two Aames
ends the regular season on the fifthof July, Wednesday night, and they
play a single game at Darling Catholicand West de Moine. Throw over to
first, Jurgensen scrambling back, alittle late reaction and he just got in

(37:40):
ahead of the tag attempt by Ruley. You know, two balls and two
strikes to beer Key with no ounce. Run around first frames leading three to
two. Curveball is high, walkout of the stance, a look to
first, but no throw. Berkeytrying to reach ahead of lender. Here's

(38:02):
the payoff pitch swung on and fileddown the right field line. That's just
racing over, but he's won't beable to get to that as the lands
on the grass and follow territory longway to go for the right fielder on
that one and falls harmlessly to theearth. The count remains three and two

(38:23):
to beer Key. Throw it atfirst Justice Jurgenson was starting his lead.
He's back diving ahead of the throw, better trying to catch him with his
momentum going the other way. Nowthe three two Berkey follows it back Erky's

(38:52):
got the shin protector on his leftleg. Right hand batter, He's got
a bright orange bat batting gloves onboth hands. Three to two from Bennett
and the fastball is low. That'sball four first to walk alout by Bennett.
Although he hit two batters in thefirst inning, AIMES was with its

(39:13):
first two batters reaching in the second, leading three to two and rafting Lender
the batter he flew out to theleft field or Bower leading off the first
right he lefty matchup as Linder digsin a long look a second now delivers.

(39:37):
Linder started his bat and tried tohold up the appeal to the field
umpire said you didn't go around Lenderkind of. He turned his whole body
there and brought the bat with him, but didn't go far enough to be
rung up for a stripe. Oneball count to Lender. I'm Bennetts stepping

(39:59):
off. Jurgenson leading from second andBerkey at first. Interestingly, Ruly at
first is holding the runner on.Don't often see that with multiple runners on
base. As a flare off thebat of Lender short left along the line
is gonna drop. Bo were racingin for it but couldn't get to it.

(40:21):
Runners had to hold up to makesure it fell in, so Jurgenson
can only advance the third and Berkeyto second. Single for Lender loads the
bases. Hard to tell where thatone was with the ball going directly into
the sun from my perspective, andI don't know if the runners might have
had the same issue there, couldn'ttell that it was gonna land pretty short.

(40:44):
Bore really never had a shot atit, although he efforted at it,
and that might have helped as hecharged down it pretty good. Nonetheless,
Ames has runners on every base, still nobody out in the second leading
three to two, and Carter Geffreyat the plate. Quick discussion between Waka
and Bennett on the mountain. Outwalka back behind the plate, Bennett to

Geoffrey at the plate. Here's adrive into left that's in for a hit.
Jorgenson will come across to score.Burkey held up at third. Geoffrey

still nobody out in the games halfof the second Geoffrey ending to his RBI
total twenty five now on the seasontwo run Aims lead with Austin Gabriels in

(42:06):
the batter. He flew out tocenter in the first inning, and he
takes the first pitch from Bennett herefor a strike on the outside corner.
Gabrielson the subject of an excellent articlein the Game's Tribune written by Joe Randolman
this week running down his offseason surgury. In fact, it was right before

(42:28):
Christmas he had surgery to prepare anagging hip injury. Played through last season
with that injury swinging him, followedby Gabrielson. But Gabrielson had surgery two
days before Christmas, had anchors putin to help the torn laboram in his

(42:49):
left hip, and the bone onthe hip was shaved down as part of
the same procedure, owing two countto Gabrielson with runners on every base his
outside for ball one. Gabrielsons havemade for a lousy Christmas, but it's
paying off this season, he's hittingvery well, as three RBIs in Game

(43:13):
one. Here's a pop up fallTerritory first base side that's over the Lincoln
dugout, actually at off the topof the dugout. Gabrielson, we had
three or five ten doubles, ahome run, fourteen RBIs last season played
at thirty nine games despite the nagginghip. But he's up to all those

(43:37):
numbers this year. One and twothe count as a pitches outside four ball
two. Gabrielson told the Tribune he'sfeeling much better. He's getting more power
in his swing thanks to his healthyhips. He's all so improved defensively.

(44:00):
And here he drives one into leftcenter, racing out his booer, but
he reaches out, can't get it. Burke waiting for it to fall.
We'll sprint for home. Linder comeinto the plate, hot on his heels.
Geffrey, he'll score from first. The throw gets away from the catcher
walka and here comes Gabrielson to scorea triple and an error. Four runs

(44:21):
come in for the Little Cyclones, who not lead eight to two. Gabrielson
will get three RBIs on the triple, scoring Burkey Winder and Geffrey, and
then the throw home got away fromWalk on a shorthop that allowed Gabrielson to
score. I want to go downas an error. Five runs here in

(44:45):
the second frames nown eight to twolead, Honey, Little League Grand Slam.
There the error assisting Gabrielson making thetrip around the basis. So this
is we were discussed how much morecomfortable he's been, how healthy he's been.
He drives in three more runs.Thirty seven RBIs now on the season

(45:08):
for gabriel Sin just said, Ibelieve his third triple of the season.
So he continues to rake for theLittle Cyclones and Ames have scored five runs
here without making it out in thesecond here's eight and nine and out,

(45:31):
the base is empty. He hada an RBI double in the first inning,
and he rips this one down theleft field line and deep, and
it is a fair ball nigh aroundfirst boom, we're chasing that one down.
Got to it quickly and throws itback quickly as well. Keeps nigh
to a single, but nigh. Now it's come to the plate six times

(45:53):
between the double header, and he'sreached all six. Two walks, two
hit by pitches in the first game, two hits in the second game.
Judge Simpson will be his courtesy runnerat first. Simpson scored in the first
inning after that two bagger by Nighand braedon Biellner, the batter he was

(46:14):
hit by a pitch in the firstinning, and he takes low four ball.
Just to steal more material from thetribunal article about Austin Gabrielson, he
said defensively, he's more comfortable afterthe hip surgery, and given the opportunities,

(46:34):
he put it to make cool plays. Pitches inside to Bielner two and
oh. He also said he felthe feels like more of a captain now
that he can really have full rangeof motion and healthy hips and makes some
plays. And he's done that quitea bit. Frames runner goes pitches up
in a way throw it down tosecond not in time. Simpson slides in

(46:57):
heat first with the stolen base, and I believe his number twenty two the
season. On twenty seven attempts forSimpson three n O to Bielder with Modal
on deck as the pitch is outside. The older walks on four pitches.

(47:21):
Second walk of the inning issued byBennett and Mortal comes to the plate after
singling in a run in the first. Just a quick note on the defensive
numbers for Gabrielson, he said, one hundred eight chances this season, has
committed only nine errors. It's fortyseven assists, fifty two pootouts. You

(47:42):
get a lot of chances. Ofcourse, playing in the middle winfield as
he does, Modal takes high orball that many chances just nine errors on
the season for Gabrielson, it translatesto a nine seventeen fielding percentage. Coming
into Tonight's action is the one zeroand it's inside off the mid of walk

(48:04):
Ahead rolls away and Simpson a littlelate reacting, but he moves up to
third, the owner behind him movingup to second. Un Officially a passed
ball charge to walk up puts twomore runners into scoring position. With Aimes
leading by five, and the pitchis a strike on the inside corner to

come to the plate in the endingtakes high is walk Ahead to pop out
of the stands there to pull thatone down. Three balls in the strike

(48:47):

(49:09):
a little bit in the first gamewith a solo home run to a left
center while Bennett continues to labor. He's up to fifty one pitches, twenty
four strikes, twenty seven balls. The fair pitch to Youth he has pulled
down the left field line, butfoul. Good contact with that, but
got around a little too fast bythe way, Ames has not made it

(49:35):
out yet. Here in the secondinning, corner infielders are in for des
Moines Lincoln with the basis full middleinfielders deep. There's a called strength knee

(49:57):

Looks like somebody's starting to warm upin their bullpen. It's just lown away

hander. I can tell you thatmuch. Youthy swings taps on file out

(50:19):

he hit it sharply and through thehole on the left side. Rro up

fourth. Here's Mason Fritz. Hestruck out in the second, rounded out

(01:13:38):
back to the pitcher Tucker, andthe first. He was looking for a
double play here with or at leastwith the middle end fielders deep, corner
endfielders in. First pitch swinging roundto the left side, it eludes Wielner,
scoots under his glove. Rrero moveda third. He'll hold there.
Fritz reaches on an error. Fromthis perspective, certainly looked like a play

(01:14:04):
that should have been made. Theowner just kind of misjudged the bounce on
that one. That loads the basisfor des Moines Lincoln an officially second era

four pitches again, that's unofficial.Thirty nine strikes, thirty five balls as

will keep the corner infielders in andthe middle indfielders deep. Here's a line
drive back up the middle that's infront of Berkey comes up throwing and nobody's
home. The middle infielders moved awayfrom the ball as Berkey fire. I
think he wanted to go to secondand try to get a force, but
Middleston Gabriel said, maybe both misunderstandingthe intent there and what Berkey was trying

(01:15:08):
to do, moved away from theball and all of a sudden done.
It's an RBI single for Waka, scoring Guerrero now at eleven, three aims

the batter for the rail splitters overone with a fly out in a

(01:15:34):
that ball hard and he might havehad a chance again the force at second
and somebody been there to actually catchit on one pitch called strike, catching
the outside corner, and Tucker getsahead of Decker and two again. Geffrey
and Bieler at the corners, playingin with the middle and field deep and

(01:16:00):
the pitch outside. Decker was temptedbut didn't go around with the bat.
One ball, two strikes. That'sjust the runner at third, Fritz at
second, and Waka at first. From the stretch, Tucker to Livers.
It's in the dirt, scooped upby nigh two and two to Decker.

(01:16:35):
Pitch from Tucker, fastball low.Now the count fills to Decker three and

(01:17:01):
a base is loaded. Walk decker, it's down to first. Estes will
score coming in from third. Fritzmoves up from second to third and walk
up from first to second. Secondrun of the inning for Lincoln. Ames
lead is now eleven four and CarsonBuer the battle batter, pardon me with
the bass is still full. Wewere struck out twice, went down looking

(01:17:26):
in the second, swinging in thethird, and it takes low on the
first offering from Tucker. Tucker nowgoing from the wind up with the basses
fall, he was the stretch previously. He is a foul ball out of
play off Boer's bat. Don't besurprising. A new pitcher for Lincoln next

(01:17:57):
inning. Look like somebody was warmingup in the bullpat and wrapped it up.
Now ready to go. Here's aground er left side, long way
to go for Gabrielson, backhands deepin the whole long sort of first won't

Fritz comes across, walk up thethird deck or to second. Third run
of the inning Lincoln has cut itto a six run ball game now eleven

(01:18:17):

owner was hugging the line. Gabrielsent him a long run there from shortstop
to get to it. A goodjob by Geffrey on the other and at
first to scoop up a one opthrow and prevent an air that would have
brought more runs. Now Josh Kirbybats and takes in the dirt nine knocks

he walked last inning, flew outthe center In the second inning, here's
the one one and it's taps offthe leg of the Kirby. It was
a one oh pitch. Now oneone count off the foul ball, it's

Three runs here in the fourth thatthe games lead to six. Once
again, nice sliding to his rightto stop a pitch in the dirt.
Count to Kirby goes to two andone. Tucker loses another batter here he

(01:19:36):
might be done for the night. So approaching ninety pitches and as he delivers
high all three, three, andone to Kirby. With Moist on deck,
Warner's lead from every base, Tuckerwinds up and delivers low and one

(01:20:00):
Hey another walk, second time inthe inning that Tucker has used to walk
with the bases loaded, Walker willscore the fourth run of the inning.
Now it's a five run margin. And here comes Aames head coach Nick stine
Hagan out to the dug up.The entire infield will be part of this
get together. As coach tin Haganreaches the top of the mound, as

(01:20:28):
An asked for the ball, yetTucker still holding it spinning in his hands,
eating night. Just about walked awayfrom that meeting, and then I
got a call back from coach tinHagan. Now here comes to the relief
pitcher in from the bullpen. Sowe'll tell you about the new Aims pitcher
next as Sucker, will you removedthe mound with Ames leading eleven six here

(01:20:51):
on the top of the fourth butLincoln and scored four times in the frame,
one away in the inning. Stuffaside. This is Aimes high baseball
and new Stock fourteen thirty k SI. Yaron Lampley is the second pitcher of
the game for Aims. The righthanded a senior coming on here in the

(01:21:11):
top of the fourth with Ames leadingeleven six, but de Way Lincoln had
scored four times here in this inning, and the basses are loaded for the
rail splitters. With just one out, Lampley comes on and reserved in relief
of Charles Tucker, making his fourthpitching appearance of the season and o win
one record for Lampley on the year. With the ra of twenty seven point

(01:21:32):
zero in two and a third inningspitched for forty four opponents, batting average,
four hits allowed, nine runs allearned. Lampley has walked eight batters
and has just one strikeout on theseason, so he's coming into a big
spot here with bases loaded. AnthonyMoist the batter. Moist came out as

(01:21:55):
defensive replacement couple innings back batted inthe third inning and ended that frame by
flying out to Burkey and center, right handed batter basing the right handed pitcher
Lampley and swinging a miss at thefirst offering. It's a good fastball from

(01:22:15):
Lampley. He goes from the setwith the basis full, the pitch lifted
down the right field line foul territorydrifting and out of play. I guess

(01:22:38):
Lampley ahead in the counter when twobasing the ninth batter to come to the
plate in the inning for the MoyneLincoln quarter enfielders still in for Ames double
play depth up the middle and thepitch high. It's Moist. It's one
and two Burkey. Just before thatlast pitch, they get a couple steps

(01:23:00):
in from center field. He's shadeda bit towards left. A ball and
two strikes to Moist, and thepitch is a called strike three. Moist
can't believe it, holds his helmetas he lolips his hat back and disbelief.
That pitch just on the very insideedge. Moist goes down looking two

(01:23:23):
away. In the top of thefourth, and here's Landed Walters matting for
the second time in the inning.Lampley delivers outside backhanded by nigh. Walter's
got things going with a single earlierin the fourth. He also walked in

(01:23:47):
the second. There remember way backearly in the and he was picked off
at first. Here's a pitch outsidefrom Lampley. It's two and oh so
between Walter's reaching it subssequently get pickedoff. Eight batters came to the plate

(01:24:09):
without an out being recorded. Anotherpitch in the dirt and the count of
three and old to Walters. WithGuerrero on deck, Games in danger of
walking in and run for the thirdtime in the inning. Lampley's pitch is
in the dirt, scooped up bynine, but Walters draws the walk.

(01:24:31):
Decker will score as he's forced infrom third. Bower moves up from second
to third, Kirby from first tosecond. Now eleven to seven, games,
leaders down to four with two outsin the fourth, Bass still loaded
for Lincoln and Aaron Guerrero, thebatter he walked earlier in the inning following

(01:24:54):
his walk in the second inning.Five runs for Lincoln here in the top
of the fourth and a tapper fouloff the third base side. The games
was on the verge of at leasthaving a chance to score a second run

(01:25:15):
rule win of the night. ButLincoln battling in this fourth and scored five
runs, which is outside one ball, one strike to Guerrero, and Guerrel
gets ahold of one. He'd tiedthe game one one pitch from lamp league

(01:25:42):
curveball and the dirt nine blocks itrunners hold at each base, two balls,
one strike to Guerrero. Kirby isgetting a real big leaded second.
Here's a tapper foul off Guerrero's batlevels account to a piece Kirby had second.

(01:26:12):
There he's getting about as far offthe base as the nearest fielder,
so he certainly he is not puttinghimself a great risk of getting picked off,
and gave himself a great chance toscore even if Kara doesn't hit the
ball particularly hard. He follows thisone back to the net account holds a
two piece two balls, two strikesto Guerrero with the base is full if

(01:26:48):
he leans in now steps off therubber. Herby scoots back to the second
base bag, although nobody covering.Everybody resets with the two ball, two
strike count to Guerrero and the pitchis low. Check that it's a call

(01:27:08):
third strike and I had to reachdown to grab it, and the umpire
saw differently than night In and Aimesis school. With that, they get
to strike out. Lincoln leads thebases loaded, but the rail splitters score
five times at the top of thefourth to tighten things up. Aims with
an eleven seven lead after three anda half innings. This is a Little
Cyclone's baseball on New Stock fourteen thirtyKSI. It still holds that eleven seven

(01:27:34):
lead over to moin Lincoln, althoughthe rail splitter has scored five in the
top of the fourth, Aimes comesa bat. In the bottom of the
fourth, Josh Model and Bobby Youthydo to start things off against Landon Walters,
who comes back out for another inningof relief work. The third batter
of the inning is Charles Tucker, the starting pitcher, but he was removed

(01:27:55):
last half inning and replaced by DarrenLampley. So we'll see if maybe Tucker
could reentern bat for himself, orif Lampley will bad for himself, or
if coaching Hagen goes with a differentbatter in that spot in the order.
I mean, while Mortal digs into lead things off, rams in the

(01:28:15):
fourth and he takes pitch in thedirt, motal has reached twice, Narbi
sing on the first I'll walk andhe runs scored in the second. He
scored eight times in the second inningafter a three run first, but Little
Cyclones went down pretty uh, prettyshort order. In the son of the

(01:28:35):
third pitch is a ball to Motalto make it two and o. Walters
from the stretch delivers high and quicklyfalls behind three and zero. I mentioned
last half inning somebody had been warmingin the Lincoln bullpend and eventually stopped at

(01:28:56):
throwing. Probably got warmed up,but sure if that was Walter's just keeping
loose between innings or somebody else gettingready to pitch. It's called strike to
Motal to make it three and one. Right he left you match up here,
pitches way up high and Mortal drawsa walk to lead off the game's
fourth streaching base for the third timeand as many trips to the plate in

(01:29:18):
this game. I'll be Youthy wellbat and Lampley has come out on deck,
so it looks like he will alsotake over Tucker spot in the batting
order after leaving him on the mountas well. Youthy with an RBI single
in the second struck out looking inthe first take small one from Walters from

(01:29:48):
the stretch. This one's lifted downthe right field line and struggling to fight
at the first baseman rule. Itbounces near him, but the runner was
holding and Motal will be thrown outat second. One turns out to be
a fielder's choice. Rule kind ofgot tangled with Motal. They're trying to
find his way around the runner atfirst. They never made contact. I

(01:30:10):
don't think interference either way, itwould actually come into play, but rules
struggling to find that ball and navigatethe base runner had that one fall just
a few feet away, but Modalnothing he could do. He had to
stay close to the bag in caseit was caught. Then when it's fell
he had no chance of getting theseconds. That's all gonna go down as
a fielder's choice and Modal forced outat second. You thin out the runner

(01:30:35):
at first with one out, Charlesthat Yaron Lampley, the batter. He
takes ball one. Lampley has onehit in seven official at bats this season,
as he takes inside. Lampley's onlyhit is a double yes three RBIs

(01:31:01):
walk a hit by pitch. Here'sa bouncer over the picture. It's gloved
by moist Fine. Second base getsthe forest at second throw. The first
is in and out of the gloveof Ruly, so Lampley will reach another
fielder's choice. This time it's Youthyout at second on a nice play by
Fritz to get that or by Moistto get that shopper and get the out

(01:31:25):
at second number one. Logan Berkey, stepping up to the plate, takes
ball one. I believe it's IanJurgenson, the courtesy runner at first for

(01:31:50):
the Ames pitcher. There's a swinginga ball ball to play first base side
off the bat of Berkey. Oneand one to the Games center fielder drown
a runner. The sack flight iscenter and his second played appearance. With
the second inning earlier, he hadwalked and scored a run one one pitch

(01:32:14):
is low four ball two aims leadingeleven seven two down to the bottom of
the fourth runner on first for theLittle Cyclones, He's two un pitched to
beer Key. He slices one intoright. That'll be down for a hit
and the runner's gonna try for third. The throw is not in time.
Ber Key almost broke for second. He holds up and returns to the bag.

(01:32:41):
It's actually Carsten Hansen, the courtesyrunner there, moving from first to
third aggressively. On the single bybeer Key throws a little off target from
Estes. Would have been a closeplay if he put it on the bag.
Now grafted Linda with two on andtwo out frames in the fourth,

(01:33:02):
and there one for three with afair of flouts in a single, it's
another one in the air, thisone short left going out the third baseman
Decker, he gives away and itdrops in behind him. A run will
score as Hanson comes in from third. Nobody's guarding second, so Linda will
gladly move up on the play asmore defensive confusion from Lincoln this time leads

(01:33:26):
to a run. Linda will getcredit for a hit and an RBI,
bringing Hanson home, making a twelveseven aimes lead. That should have been
an ounce. Somebody should have caughtthat, and it looked like Decker was

(01:33:49):
in command there and then he gaveaway just before the ball dropped in behind
him. Here's Carter Geffrey batting andhe follows it away. Jeffrey one for
two, two banning from the secondslot in the order. He drove in
and run with a single of thesecond was hit by a pitch in the
first, also fly out to rightfield. Coming in the third, I

(01:34:13):
pitch to Geoffrey to make it oneball, one strike. So now aims
a five run lead with two outsand the fourth two runners in scoring position,
trying to respond to a five runtop of the fourth by des Moines.
Lincoln pitched low from Walters, teamsgetting one back and I'm a gift

(01:34:35):
from the rail Splitters defense to onepitch swing on and missed Geoffrey with a
mighty cut there. Two balls, two strikes to the games first baseman,
Walters delivers outside. Geoffrey was tempted, held off as he had just started

(01:35:01):
his bat moving pitch finishes outside,so it's a full count to Geoffrey with
two runners on and Austin Gabrielson ondeck, pitches up in away. That's
ball four. It's going to loadthe bases. Second walk of the inning
by Walters. That's his third andthe eleventh by Lincoln pitchers tonight. So

(01:35:29):
Austin Gabrielson bats with the bases loadedand Gabrielson takes ball one. Gabrielson singled
in the third, tripled in thesecond, driving in three. He scored
himself on an air on the sameplay as he takes a strike. Gabrielson

(01:35:57):
flew out the center in the firstinning, so you got three. RBIs
on that truple earlier. As hehits this one high in the air and
let's see if somebody takes charge here. Fritz, the shortstop moving over,
makes the catch on the infield thatends the inning. Aames gets one the
strand three after four, Little Cycloneslead to Moin Lincoln twelve to seven.
This is Aames high baseball on Newstalkfourteen thirty KSI twelve seven Aimes lead as

(01:36:26):
the Little Cyclones look to sweep deMoines Lincoln. Aimes winning the opener of
tonight's doubleheader twenty three to five infour innings. The Little Cyclones jumped out
to a big lead here in thenightcap. I'm scoring three in the first.
Lincoln put two up in the second, but Aames scored eight times in

(01:36:46):
the bottom half from that frame, taking eleven two lead. But then Lincoln
taking advantage of some wildness from theAames pitching, scoring four times five times
in the top of the fourth.Games gets one back in the bottom of
the fourth. So we headed thefifth with a twelve to seven Aimes lead.
Michael Estes, Mason Fritz Hayden walkon top of the order coming to
bat for Lincoln here in the fifth. Estes with three hits and three at

(01:37:17):
bats, singled last inning, singledin the second to drive in two and
doubled in the first and the firstpitch from Darren Lampley in relief of Charles
Tucker is high over nis head andback of the backstop. Books closed on

(01:37:40):
Tucker, who went three and athird llowing seven runs and he hit seven
walks three strikeouts, laintly stepping offthe rubber momentarily back on top of the
mound ASTI. The right handed battereddigging in. Here's the one zero and

(01:38:01):
the curveball dives either low or awayor both. Let's take two and oh
count pitch from Lampley low and awayin the dirt. In fact that time,

(01:38:23):
three n O tost Us starting offthe seventh, he's gotta win over
a ranked Ballard team. Last nightthere was Bombers were ranked tenth in Class
three A going into that matchup, and Aims blew him away as the pitches
strike to asked us to make itthree and one. Anky Centennials, a

(01:38:48):
top rated team in Class FOURY thisweek and the rankings from the Iowa High
School Baseball Coaches Association Ball four tostus, he draws a five pitch walk.
That's the second allowed by lamp Leaseof nine total walks given up by

(01:39:09):
Aims. And here comes coach Dicksteinhagenout of the dugout once again. The
full infield gathering and coach is gonnatake the ball from Lampley. We'll get
another pitching change here for the LittleCyclones with Aimes leading Lincoln twelve seven with
no out and run around first forthe rail Splitters. With the game at

(01:39:30):
the top of the fifth, let'stally about the new picture next. This
is a Little Cyclones baseball and newStock fourteen thirty k s I left headed
junior Grafton Lender is the new pitcherfor Rames. He becomes the third pitcher
of the game for the Little Cyclones, moving in from rightfield to take over
on the mount and relief of DarrenLampley. I believe I saw the starting

(01:39:55):
pitcher, Charles Tucker come off thebench to reanenter the game, and I'm
not sure if he's gonna take overand write for Linder. We'll find out
if Linder wraps up his warm uppitches. This is the sixth pitching appearance
of the season for Linda All inrelief. He's throwing eight and a third

(01:40:16):
innings as an array of zero pointeight four no wins and one loss on
his record, he has one saveon his batting average of two twenty six
seven hits allowed for Linder eight runs, but only one has been earned.
Lender has walked six batters, onehit batter, and he has struck out

(01:40:38):
ten, so he's averaging better thana strikeout per inning. As he comes
in here to face Lincoln, Tuckeris gonna take over at third base.

(01:41:01):
Judge Simpson is in rights. Thebatter is number nine, Mason Brits and
Briton Bielner moves from third to second, and the first pitch, Mason Fritz

(01:41:23):
swings and missus from the lefty Lender. Britz so for three when you reached
on the air last time up throughthe first As Estes dives back, brit

(01:41:45):
scored as part of that five runfourth for Lincoln, although his run was
unearned because he reached by an ERAerror. Struck out in the second,
grounded back to the pitcher in thefirst inning, Lender delivers, I believe
that was a breaking ball there, got over the plate for a strike and
he gets ahead of Fritz Owen two. Working from the stretch with the runner

(01:42:15):
on first, Linda delivers. It'sswung on and missed, and a three
pitch strikeout for Linder fresh on themound coming up with a big k right
there, one away. In thetop of the fifth, we'll run around
first for Lincoln with Aims leading byfive. Hey didn't walk up the batter.

(01:42:35):
He drove in a run with asingle last inning. Singled in the
third as well. He flew outto right in the first inning and a
check swing pitches a ball runner goingthrow it down to second, and the
tag is not in time. Gabrielsonkind of had to slide into make that

(01:42:56):
grab, scramble to try to getthe tag on Estu, but reach back
in time to get the leather onhim. So estis into second with a
stolen base runner and scoring position withone out for Lincoln. In the top
of the fifth and the one ballcount to Waka, a pitch from Lender

(01:43:20):
hid in the air short right, the short left center. Pardon me coming
on, is Berkey. The centerfielder makes the catch and records the out
erke left no doubt really took chargeof that situation. They're coming in from
the outfield to call off Gabriels, then two away as Estis holds a second

(01:43:42):
engage Decker the batter Decker with abases loaded walk last inning. He also
walked in the third floft to centerin the first inning. This called strike.
Decker was pulling in his hands asthough he thought it was inside,
but Umpire said, I caught thecorner and Linda, I had to own

(01:44:03):
one the stretch and the pitch justoff the outside corner for a ball.

(01:44:24):
When they're trying to leave Estes atsecond and keep the games lead at five,
there's a flare down the first baselinefile diving attempt by Geoffrey, but
comes up short in follow territory.Nothing to lose by going forward there,
I guess, and the foul groundaccount on Decker goes to one ball and

(01:44:47):
two strikes. Linda wants to getrid of that baseball. It's a different
one heading the count on Decker oneand two with two down the pitch curveball

(01:45:08):
just missed, although one not surewhere that's where that was a strike earlier.
Anyway, here's a two ball, two strike count to Decker. Linder
sets and deliverers. Fastball is high, so the count is full to Decker

(01:45:29):
with Arson Boer on deck as thisleads from second, but pay off pitch
straight three on the inside corner.Decker was heading the first, but he
is rung up instead. Later comeson, gets a couple of strikeouts and
a fly out strands the runner atsecond. Lincoln doesn't score in the fifth

(01:45:53):
after four and a half ams withthe lead twelve and seven. This is
Little Cyclones baseball on new Stock fourteenthirty ks. He told a twelve seven
lead in the or as we headto the bottom of the fifth over de
Moines Lincoln. Here in the nightcapbetween these two squads eight and nine bringing

(01:46:14):
BI owner Josh Model the schedule,Batters frames that's worth five and six in
the lineup to face the right enderLandon Walters, who's on in relief gave
up a run the last inning, and on face nine, who was two
for three in this game. Firstpitch, he's low to the games catcher

(01:46:38):
and I struck out in the thirdsuit them the second doubled in the first
to drive in a run. Hetakes low again. That's ball too.
As I mentioned last half inning.Ankney Centennial is the top ranked team in
four A this week, according tothe Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association pitch

(01:46:59):
well in front of nine four ballfour of ball three, pardon me Cedar,
Rappids Frays ranked second, Johnston isthird, Southeast Focus fourth, West
Amoint Dowling is fifth. That's four, the top five out of the CIML.
Right there. The Rappids Kennedy Uamesfaced earlier this season is ranked sixth.

(01:47:19):
Rio Upstairs Ni draws the walk.He reached the base for the third
time and four trips is the plateeight combined trips between the double header,
and he's only been retired once.Like Jamison, Webber will be the courtesy

(01:47:45):
runner for nigh. He stands atfirst as the Little Cyclones get a leadoff
runner on here in the fourth RaydonBielner stepping to the point, flow to
right and the third walked in thesecond hit by a pitch in the first
and he takes low for ball onefrom Walters, running out the top ten
in Class four A Pleasant Valley seventh, I was City High eighth, Alisoner

(01:48:09):
Grimes is ninth, and Indianola ten. One. Oh pitch is up high.
Wal I get ready to fire downto first, but Weber back easily.
Western Dubuque is the top team inClass three A. As this one's

(01:48:29):
laced in the right center field,it's going to split the gap for a
hit. Webber around second hill headfor third. Big turn for Billner,
but he'll hold at first with asingle row. Did a good job coming
over from center to cut that oneoff and hold to hold Bielner to a
single base. But now Aames hastwo on with no ounce in the fifth
and we have a pitching chains inthe opening. It a piers here for

(01:48:54):
De Moines Lincoln, so Landon Walterswill be pulled and it looks like Josh
Kirby wanted to be the new hurlerfor De Lincoln. At twelve seven Ames
lead. We're in the bottom ofthe fifth with no ounce, two runners
on for the Little Cyclones. You'relistening to ames Eide baseball A News Talk
fourteen thirty KSI. Josh Kirby isthe third pitcher of the game for De

(01:49:23):
Moines Lincoln. He comes on herein the bottom of the fifth with Ames
leading twelve to seven and nobody outwith Little Cyclones on first and third.
Kirby taking over on the mountain.Jagger Bennett will be the new first baseman,
and it appears Landon Walters is goingto return to second base. That's

(01:49:44):
where he started the game. Cameon in relief earlier, and he ends
up going three at full innings, but he's responsible for the two runners on
right now. I think we haveany other changes here for Lincoln defensively,
but once you know if I spotanything. Meanwhile, Kirby is wrapping up

(01:50:10):
his warm up pitches. Kirby, making his sixth pitching appearance of the season,
is third in relief. He's sewin total of six innings on the
season twenty nine point one seven ERAwhen it's batting average of thirty one,
six hits aloud, twenty eight runs, twenty five of those earned. He

(01:50:30):
has walked twenty three batters. Hehas hit seven batters and struck out six.
Josh Modal the first Aimes batter tosee him. It'll be the right
hand or Kirby against the left handedbatting Modal, who's won for one a
single and two walks the game's leftfielder, and he takes a strike on

(01:50:53):
the outside corner. Good fastball fromKirby. A single for Modal came back
in the first inning, and hedrove in a run part of a three
run Aims First takes in the dirtfor ball one, one and one to
count the owner leading from first,Webber courtesy runner at third, bouncer right

(01:51:19):
back to the mound. Kirby willthrow it a second and it skips past
Walters and a short right A runwill score. As Webber comes in from
third and b Owner is going toend up on third base a potential double
playball there, but Kirby Young corkto throw it short hopped his shortstop.
Ruro had to come in from centerto pick that one up. Mortal reaches

(01:51:41):
on the air run scores, throwingair charge to the pitcher. Meanwhile,
bi Owner up to third, stillrunners on first and third, still nobody
out. Aims Now leading thirteen toseven. Bobby Youth. He steps up
to the clayton and steps out ofthe batter's box. Youth, he hit

(01:52:04):
into a fielder's choice last senning thatcame out to pop up your first base.
He takes ball one from Kirby. There was the first baseman Gosh Kirby
at the time, while side ofthe ball as the pitch is loading away.
Runner going from first he'll head downto second, modal in safely to

(01:52:27):
throw down to third, but Bielderwas back easily, so credit modal with
the stolen base, He's into second. Two runners in scoring position for Youthe
with the two and oh count, and the fastball is high three and zero
and looks like Tucker is gonna reenter to bat in his original position in

(01:52:50):
the batting order. He's on deckthree oh is high. He draws a
walk, reaches for the third time, and there comes Tucker. He started

(01:53:13):
on the mount. He's in linefor the win now at third base,
RBI sacrifice flying back in the secondending I was the second time around.
He had singled earlier. In thatframe. He takes strike one from Kirby
Lampley batted in the eighth slot, reached on the fielder's choice in the fourth

(01:53:34):
her ball outside one ball, onestrike to Tucker. Tucker gets a hold
of one here that would end thegame. Now the first game ended on
a grand lamp pitches way outside goodstab by Waka to haul in that pitch

(01:53:55):
way outside. Runners hold and thecount goes to two and one to Tucker.
There's a chopper fall off the baseand big bounce back into the net
behind home plate. Oh ball makesit two and two. The well I

(01:54:19):
was talking about the rankings the WesternRebuke top team in three A Lewis,
Central Northfolk, Knoxville, Marion andSuicity healing two through six. There Delda
Soto Minburn seven. It's in thedirt, blocked by Waka and it rolls
towards the third baseline, but theowner plays it safe and holds it third.

(01:54:44):
Meanwhile, the count goes full toTucker running out to three. Top
ten Delda Soto, Minburn, Debuke, Walert, Devenport, Assumption and Ballard.
Here's the pal pitch in the dirt. Ball four and Ames will force
in a run on a walk creditTucker with an RBI. As the owner
comes across the score, Mortal willmove up to third and Youthy to second.

(01:55:08):
Stile nobody out in the games.Half of the fifth now a fourteen

big curveball that missus Erke is singlelast inning RBI sacrifice flying the second in

the batter's box. There's a curveballhit in the air file that's on a
play on the right field side.Count full to beer Key. The base

(01:56:51):
is loaded, Nobody pitches in thedirt and that's ball four. Berkey passes
away, the bat heads to first. Mortal will score on the second consecutive
bases loaded. Walk is sho'd buyKirby third walk he's allowed. The Mortal
scores makes it fifteen seven. Yousee the third tucker to second and here

(01:57:15):
comes an assistant coach here for Moyne. Lincoln out to the mound. Meanwhile,
the head coach, Jacob Hugan iscoming to the homeplate umpire. He's
got a scorecard out, so wemight have a pitching change here, I'm
not sure. Some other change, perhaps defensively for Lincoln. And the assistant

(01:57:38):
who's out on the mound hasn't takenthe ball yet. Coach Hugen putting his
line of card back in his pocket, and he gets heading back to the
dugout, so it looks like therewill be no changes here. Kirby,

(01:58:58):
field that's in for a hit.Youth will score. Tucker being waved around
third, the throw to the plateis in time for the out. Nice
tag by Walker. I wait toreach across his body to his right,
then bring the ball all the wayacross to his life to tag out Tucker.
Trying to score from second, Amesgets a run. Youthie is driven
home on the single by Lender thatmakes it a sixteen seven Aimes lead.

(01:59:23):
Tucker cut down to the plate forthe first out of the any good strong
throw from Aaron Guerrero in center fieldas well. On that play, Blames
up by nine. A Murky standson second. Lender on first Geffrey,

(01:59:44):
the batter takes outside for a ball. Jeffrey walked last inning, flutter right
in the third, hit by apitch, drove in a run with a
single a second, and he washit by a pitch back in the first,
as Kirby nearly quirk one there inWaka with a desperation stab to grab
that one. Runners remain a firstand second with one down in the fifth,

(02:00:06):
Aims a run away from Mercy rulevictory. Here's the two d to
Geffrey and it's over his head backto the backstop. Burkey will easily make
third. Lander makes his way downto second, and here it comes Coach

(02:00:27):
Huge out of the dugout, andhe's got another pitcher coming with him,
so another pitching change. Milton Manzanawill be the next in line for the
Mourning Lincoln. He comes on witha three and oh count to Geoffrey,
two runners on and aims leading bynine sixteen seven to score. Here in

(02:00:51):
the bottom of the fifth, we'llstep aside for a moment and bring it
back for the potential finale here onNewstalk fourteen thirty KSI. Here, left
hander Milton Manzano is the new pitcherfor Morning Lincoln. He comes on with

(02:01:11):
the rail Splitters trailing games sixteen toseven. Manzano inheriting not only two base
runners in scoring position, but athree O count to the batter Carter Geffrey
is the fourth pitcher of the gamefor the rail Splitters. Logan Berkey is

(02:01:35):
the game clinching run. He's onthird. Graph Linder is standing on second,
but he would be of a littleconsequencer, actually no consequence here if
Jeffrey Kin come up with a hitthe infield coming in here for Lincoln all
the way around with just one outin the inning, three balls and no

(02:01:56):
strikes to Geoffrey, and the pitchis low for ball four and Zono's first
pitch allows the batter to reach andloads the bases for Austin Gabrielson. Gabrielson
drove in three runs in game onehere in game two, he drove in
three with a triple in the second, then scored himself on an air on

(02:02:18):
the same play and the pitch hithim with the bases loaded. That's gonna
score the game clinching run. GeffreyGabrielson getting hit by the pitch beer Key
will score and that will do itas the Little Cyclones secure the win seventeen
seven the final as Little Cyclones nowimproved the record to twenty and eleven on

(02:02:48):
the season and Lincoln eleven and seventeenas Ames collects the sweep of the double
header tonight games now it was oneeighteen of its last twenty one games,
and we'll take an eight game winningstreak into Senior Night tomorrow with Marshalltown coming

(02:03:10):
in for a double header. Thefinal unofficial line score Aims seventeen runs on
thirteen hits, two errors, andnine left on base. Lincoln seven runs,
eight hits, two errors, andnine left on base. Some time
of game two two hours and tenminutes. We'll be back with the postgame
show next. This is Little CyclonesBaseball on News Talk fourteen thirty Ksie seven

(02:03:34):
Aims wins defeating Lincoln in five inningsin the nightcap to complete the sweep twenty
three five four inning win for Aimsin the opener earlier tonight. Let's recap
the nightcap. Ames got on theboard first three runs in the first inning
with two outs and run around eightand nine with an RBI double and and

(02:04:03):
I would score a bit later,Brandon Bieler was hit by a pitch.
Josh Modle drove in and run witha single as part of that three run
first. His Names jumped out tothe lead thinking got on the board in
the second two run, two outsingle with Michael by Michael Estes to make
it a one run game. TheNames scored eight in the second, concluding

(02:04:30):
a triple by Austin Gabriel Sin Itbrought home three runs and then he scored
himself when the throw of the plategot away from the catcher, so he
got credit for the three RBIs atriple and then the error to score in
the inning, Bobby Youth he alsowith an RBI single ass Carter Geffrey also
drove in a run with a hitthat same inning for the Little Cyclones,

(02:04:51):
a couple of bases loaded walks alsofactorying in to the eighth run eighth.
The name seemed to be in control, leading eleven to two at that point,
but then Lincoln struck back in thefourth scored five runs in the inning.
Some defensive lapses in there for RamesHayton walker with an RBI single Gauge
Decker walked with the bases loaded,Carson Boer with a single to drive in

(02:05:15):
a run, then Josh Kirby walkedat the bases loaded to bring home another
run, and Landon Walters also walkingwith the bases loaded to drive home a
run. Aimes put it away thanksto the fifth inning. Games got a
run in the fourth to extend thelead, but the fifth inning proved to
be the difference. Couple of basesloaded walks factoring into that one as open

(02:05:38):
Berkey got credit for an RBI,as did Charles Tucker, rafted Linder with
an RBI single as Aimes scored fivetimes in the fifth to secure the victory
and joined now by head coach NickSteenhagen as his team enjoys the sweep of
Lincoln and coach congratulations on on thewins proved to be kind of grinders,

(02:06:01):
despite the fact that they were prettylopsided scores. Yeah. Absolutely, I
think, Um, I think wekind of proved to ourselves in a couple
innings we can't you know, letthe foot off the gas, and um,
we did have to grind a littlebit. We had to figure out,
you know, how to get outof those couple innings where the you
know, they had a couple thatfive run fourth and um, you know

(02:06:21):
I had to hit a walk offgrand slam in the first one. But
uh no, I think, um, the biggest thing we've talked about is
like we're starting to prove that, you know, we're one of those top
tier teams that you know down theroad here as we get into postseason,
I think, cool, we'll bein a good place going back to that
first game. Your your team, you know, jumped out in front there,
but some defensive lapses led to somemistakes and that helped Lincoln get back

(02:06:45):
in the game. And then youyou got your whole team together out in
front of the dugout. What wasyour message to the team at that point,
Um, I think the biggest thingwas, Um, I had to
settle them down a little bit.Um. The umpires had requested that we
um the word sportsmanship was used,I guess, um, and uh so
I just had to remind them thatwe need to make sure that we're saying
positive things for ourselves. UM,that if we want to be, you

(02:07:09):
know, considered one of those toptier teams, we have to find a
way here to stay within ourselves andum, you know, prove who we
really are. So that was kindof the message, is taking a breath
and taking a quick pause and gettingback to it. You mentioned the walkoff
grand Slam in in game one thatuh uh invoked the mercy rule that was
courtesy of Braden Bielner ended up withnine RBIs in that game and some big

(02:07:30):
contributions that played in game two aswell as bilder about it. It's locked
in as a guy can be rightnow it's yeah, I've you know,
we we talked before the game about, you know, some of these seniors
and the contributions they've made, andum, that's just a testament to you
know, the work and the timehe's put in, and um, I
think I think the best thing tosee is that the guys that you know,

(02:07:51):
we've come to need to rely onthe last couple of years or are
peaking at the right time during theirsenior years. So I'm happy for him
to have that big swing. Eventhough we only needed one run in Game
two. Austin Gabrielson had probably thebiggest hit rove in three and then scored
himself on the error. And Iwas talking about earlier during that game actually
the article from the Aames Tribune thatit was out this week about his the

(02:08:13):
surgery on the hip and how muchbetter he feels. I mean, what
is the difference now? He wasstill productive last year, but he's gone
to another level this year now thathe's healthy. Yeah. Absolutely, I
think what I've seen out of theseseniors, Austin in particulars the last couple
of years, I what I noticedout of him is he was pressing a
little bit, you know, um, maybe trying to do a little too
much, and this year it justseems like the pressure is off of him.
He's he's having fun. Obviously,he's way healthier than he's been as

(02:08:35):
he's battled that hip injury, sohe just seems loose. He's having fun
and you know, the productivity fromshortstop, but also just just you know,
seeing the time he's put in andyou know, and having big swings
and big moments has been really coolto see for him. All right,
coach, congrats getting out and sweepto night, Best of luck tomorrow with
Marshalltown and enjoy Senior night. Awesome, Thank you you bet. That's Ames

(02:08:56):
High head coach Nick Steinahagan joining ushere on the postgame show. Just a
couple of other notes to wrap upbefore we wind things down, to run
through the pitching numbers for you.Aimes in Game two, Charles Tucker,
the winner, went the first threeand a third innings and gave up seven
runs. He struck out three batters, gave up eight hits and seven walks

(02:09:16):
with the offense, enough to keepAimes ahead and put him in line for
the wind. Darren Lampley with thenext two thirds of an innings. He
is charged with no runs despite givingup a couple of walks, but didn't
give up any hits. He struckout two. Grafton Linder pitched the final
inning of play that Aims would needand did not give up a run,

(02:09:37):
struck out a couple of batters, did not give up a hit nor a
walk in his outing. Jagger Bennett, the starter for Dwayne Lincoln, takes
a loss. Went just one inning, pitched into the second and got charged
with eleven runs altogether and gave upeight hits, three walks, struck out
one. Landon Walters. With thenext three innings in relief and it's pretty

(02:09:58):
solid and gave up three runs, struck out only one, gave up four
hits and three walks, just kindof ran out of gas at the end.
Josh Kirby went a third of anending in relief and he's charged with
three runs, no strikeouts, onehit, four walks. Milton Menzano,
which the last couple of batters camein mid batter and actually ended up just

(02:10:20):
facing two batters altogether, as thehit batter ended up forcing in the clinching
run for the Little cyclone. Sowith that again, Ames twenty and eleven
on the season thanks to the sweep. Tonight, Aimes back home tomorrow night
to host Marshalltown. That will bea double header that will also be Senior

(02:10:43):
Night. Also the Games High Stoftballteam hosting Marshalltown and holding their Senior Night.
We'll have those games for you tomorrowafternoon. Four forty five will be
the pregame for the other tomorrow.I hope you can join us for those
