Let's go live to the Diamond withKASI Sports Director Dave sprou Good evening
and welcome once again to the GamesHigh Baseball Diamond as the Little Cyclones host
a doubleheader with a Tema, twoteams out of the Iowa Alliance Conference meeting

(00:30):
tonight for a twin bill. Amescoming off a grueling night of baseball last
night, losing both ends of adouble header to Urbandale eight to two in
Game one ten to eight in amarathon nightcap last night. We'll get into
some of the tales on that, but look ahead to this matchup with a
tumbois a Little Cyclones are two andeight under head coach Nick Seenehagan and Johnny

(00:51):
Yeager, the coach for the Bulldogs, two and two on the young season.
The Bulldogs coming off a win acouple of nights ago at home all
rxt ME on the road to oscarLoosa. That comes after splitting a double
header against Southeast Folk last Friday night. Ames will have Braden Bielder going in
Game one, Carter Geffrey at thestarter in game two. Game one starter

(01:11):
for tewe Is freshman Tucker Long wasalready committed to play baseball at the University
of Iowa. So good forwards.Just a hopefully a good pitching matchup in
both contests here to night. Betweengames and up next, we'll hear from
Little Cyclones head coach Nick steen Hagenget his thoughts on this matchup all the
last night's games on New Stock fourteenthirty Kasi Welcome Back Names High Baseball pregame

(01:37):
show, Visiting with head coach Nickstein Hagen. Coach, you got a
little bit of sleep last night aftera lengthy double header last night. How
do you think that, you know, going late like that and playing a
long game might affect your team mentallyand physically. I mean, I think
it definitely is gonna affect us.Um, I hope not here, but
probably at school today. I knowI was kind of walking around like a

(01:59):
zombie, but um, yeah, that was a long one. I think
the biggest thing is, you know, we talked about before we started today,
just we have to start, youknow the season over today, right
like every every game has to beabout that first pitch at five o'clock,
and they seem, you know, focused right now. So I mean,
I think it always is going tocome down to energy, and I think

(02:21):
at times last night we got outenergy. Then you know, we'll see
how they respond. I think thatthe guys we got thrown to night and
the lineups we have, I thinkwill be pretty competitive. But it was
a late night. Any changes tothe pregame routine today, it's hard when
we're getting out of school because you'vegot you don't have a true like,
hey, we got to be atthe field by this time, because everybody's

(02:44):
released at a certain time, seniorsare done. I think the biggest thing
is we've made a conscious effort thelast two days of not just getting here
and rolling in. It's been amore conscious effort of like, let's stop,
let's pause, do some breathing, you know, kind of focus on
letting everything else go, then havinga good breakout and just really getting into
some some more focused reps versus justkind of going through it. So I

(03:06):
think that's the biggest adjustment. Oneof the things I'm sure you've noticed because
I have a number of runners lefton base and in the games this week,
what do you want to do?What you want how do you want
your pictures to or batters to approachthings there when they get a chance to
drive in some runs. I thinkthe biggest thing is is keeping it simple.
I think we've got a lot ofguys that have some ability, but
they take two biggest swings at times, and um, I think just seeing

(03:30):
like you just said, like there'stwo runners right there, all I gotta
do is hit it behind them andyou know, and just at the very
least fight it off and try andflick the bat out there. But um,
yeah, that's been that's been definitelyan Achilles heal for us is leaving
too many guys on base and bigopportunities. What have you say now to
your defense so far this season? For the most part, I think we're
all right. We've made some untimelyerrors unfortunately. I think I think overall,

(03:53):
like you know, we've been prettysolid, which is something that I
want to want us to be andreally make those routine plays. But you
know, then we we have, you know, two outs in the fifth
inning last night and drop a flyballand then they score six runs. So
I mean that's been the most disappointingpart of it. And I and you
know, we've got a lot ofseason left. We're about a quarter of
the way through, and I stillthink we're trying to figure out who exactly

(04:15):
we are and and um, youknow what guys are gonna fit, you
know, within the puzzle there andand UM, it's it's overall. I
think we're we're doing pretty, we'redoing okay, but it's just the timely
stuff that's killing us. Look atto tonight with the time went in town.
What's your plan for the pitching andhas that been affected at all by
the number pitches you use last night? Um, it affects the bullpen a

(04:35):
little bit. Um, we gotBraden going one and Carter going too.
They weren't available until tonight anyways, based on throwing Friday, So um,
if they can do what they didlast week, you know, And UM,
I want to trust our bullpen guys. They've come in in tight spots
and a couple of them have beenokay, But um, we're we're missing
at times as well, and youknow, walking a lot of guys,

(04:56):
And um, if if the twostarters can can get us deeper, we
should be okay and we shouldn't haveto uh make a plan adjustment too too
soon. Um, you know,we've got a couple of guys gone going
to a TUMA with JV, sosome potential arms that you know, it's
it's hard to take games away fromthem with the potential of possibly pitching for
us. But UM, I guesswe'll just have to see what kind of

(05:18):
what kind of athletes and baseball playerswere made of tonight. But um,
it's been a grind for the lastfew days. And taking a look at
the Bulldogs what you're scouting report there, Um, it looks like they're two
and two right now. They haven'tplayed quite as many games as we have.
Um. Looks like they split withSoutheast Poke on Friday nights. Um.
So I think if if we,you know, play what I think
we all know we're capable of doingand and cleaning up some of the defensive

(05:41):
things you're talking about and and notleaving guys on base I mean, it's
baseball is a very simple game ifyou let it be. Um, I
think it's a good matchup. They'realways pretty pretty good, you know,
always split with them two years agowhen they came here two or three years
ago. UM on a walk off. I believe, and UM, I
think if if we can, ifwe can, you know, play good
defense behind Brandon and Carter will beWe'll be there. Coach, thanks for

(06:04):
your time, best of luck againsta Temah. Yeah, thank you.
Nameside coach Nicks Seenhagen joining us onthe pregame interview. This is a Little
Cyclones Baseball on News Talk fourteen thirtyk s. I welcome back to name
Side Baseball, Little Cyclones hosting aan IOWA Alliance conference. Well, I'm

(06:24):
still getting used to the new conference. Untilmost been a full athletic season with
the new conference frames, but nevertheless, adjustments are hard for me. Let's
take a look at the starting lineupfirst for the visiting Bulldogs from Attemwa and
head coach Johnny Eager. We'll haveDalton down lead things off. He is
the catcher for Temo. Right fielderTanners Shark batting second in the three slot.

(06:46):
It's the short stop Carter Thompson.Jared Mitchell is the cleanup batter for
a Temo. He's at first base. Starting pitcher Tucker Long in the sixth,
fifth batting slot. I should saysixth batter is Braylan Griffins. He's
the left fielder. Batting seventh isthe third baseman, Matt Mitchell. Javin
Rominger is the center fielder. He'llbat eighth, and the second baseman Cason

(07:08):
Palm. Running out the Tumwa lineupDalton down Tanner Shark, Carter Thompson,
Jared Mitchell, Tucker Long, RaylanGriffiths match Matt Mitchell, Javin Rominger and
Carson Palm. Cason Palm are withthe batting lineup for a Tumwa. In
the opener, aid and I isgoing to lead things off for Ames.

(07:29):
He is the catcher. Designated hitter. Carter Geffrey will be in the two
slot, batting to third Austin GabrielSin He starts at shortstop betting clean up
left fielder Joshua Modal. Pitcher BradenBielder is gonna bat fifth for the Little
Cyclones. Batting sixth is Easton Middlestat the second baseman, first baseman and
batting seventh is Bodie Hatfield. Carsonmake that Carston Hanson is in right field.

(07:53):
He's batting eighth and running out theAmes batting lineup. Logan beer Key
the center fielder Charles Tucker will starta third base. He will not hit.
The starting latup it's Geffriel DH forhim eight and nine, car Geffrey,
Austin, Gabrielson, Joshua Model,Brandon Bielner, Easton Middlestat, Vody
Hatfield, Carson Hansen, and LoganBerkey. The batting lineup for Aims in

(08:13):
the first of two games on theschedule for tonight. Let take a look
at the pitching matchup here. Amessenior Braydon Bielner making his third pitching appearance
and second start of the season ohand one record with a seven point six
four ERA and seven and a thirdinnings pitched this season, batting opponents batting

(08:37):
average of three twenty four and awhip of one point six four. The
owner is allowed eleven hits, elevenruns, eight of those earned, one
walk, three hit batters and eightstrikeouts on the season. Four senior Bielner
long, the freshman getting his secondstart and his second pitching appearance of the
season, did not get a decisionin his previous outing. He went five

(09:00):
and two thirds innings, allowing allowingeight hits, four runs, but just
one of those earned. He walkedtwo batters and struck out six and long.
We'll get to start in game onefour the Bulldogs. We got the
first pitch coming your way. Next, this is Little Cyclones Baseball on Newstalk
fourteen thirty Kasi. Starting lineups arebeing introduced to her at them side Baseball

(09:26):
Diamond. The Little Cyclones, hostinga double header with a tumwa games,
will take the field defensively to startthings off, wearing white uniforms from head
to tell. Pretty much white jerseyswith orange numbers and lettering. Black trim
on those jerseys as well, whitecaps with a black bill and the Cyclone
logo on the front panel. Whitepants as well. Rames a tumba were

(09:48):
in great jerseys with a tumba inred spelled out across the front, numbers
on the front end back of thosejerseys in red with white trim. White
pants and red hats for the Bulldogswith a read block oh outlined in white
on the front of those caps.Breeding Bielner doing a little yard work on

(10:11):
the mound. You're getting everything dugin before he begins his warm ups.
Here his last outing game in thefirst half of ames doubleheader with Johnston.
The Dragons won that game eleven five. Last Friday, Billner with the first
six and a third innings and itwas charged with eleven runs, although eight

(10:35):
of those were earned. He walkedone, hit, three batters, and
struck out six in that game. And despite being not as sharp as I'm
sure he'd like, he did pitchdeep into the games through one hundred and
nine pitches, one under the pitchlimit by the Iohigh School Athletic Association and

(10:56):
as a result had to was notallowed to pitch until today in mandatory rest
period after throwing the max number ofpitches in in a game. So you
know, make his a second again, third appearance of the season. Part
me second start of the year forBielner, a right handed senior for the

(11:20):
Little Cyclones, and we greeted byDalton down the left to me the catcher,
left handed batting catcher for Tamwa. The Olner are working from the wind
up delivers it's rounded sharply through theright side right between body hatfield at first
and easton middle stat at second base. A clean single for Down on the

(11:43):
first pitch of the game. Timbagets an immediate base runner and an immediate
courtesy runner. It will be LukeGravy the runner at first for the catcher
Tanner. Shark will be the batter. Keep in mind as we'll run down

(12:05):
the stats for Tumbo and the Bulldogshave only played four games so far.
Shark another left handed batter here toface the right eb owner and I on
Gravy over at first as well.Shark digs in with a runner on first
and no outs. Charles Stucker, the games third baseman, was going to

(12:26):
play on the edge of the grassin case of a bond. Here's a
swing of the miss though by Sharkfor strike one. Shark has one hit
in nine at bats, but healso has three RBI's co leader in that
category. He's walked three times. It's most of the Bulldogs. He has
struck out three times. He's alsoas two sacrifice. He looks a bond

(12:48):
here takes the ball high, oneball and one strike, Ravy getting his
lead and again bund to show him. Shark pulls it back as the pitch
is well high and a nigh outof his crouch to snap that ball away

(13:15):
and the count is two and oneto Shark. Ravy on the base pass.
This season four stolen bases in fourattempts to one another bunt, and
this time it's out front of theplate. Bilder charges throw a side arm
to first to get the out.Shark got down the line quickly and nearly
beat it out, but it's wrongto throw from Bielder gets him on the
sacrifice. That moves Gravy up tosecond and a runner in scoring position for

(13:43):
some way in the first. Nowone away. It's Carter Thompson. He
has two hits in thirteen at bats, both singles, also with two RBIs,
one walk, one strikeout isn't sacrificedyet this season. First pitched swinging,

(14:03):
he lives it on the infield secondbaseman, he said. Middlestaff coming
over calling off the first baseman.Hatfield makes the catch for the second out.
Some good communication from the games infielder'sthere to put that in away.
Gravy has to hold at second withtwo down in the top of the first
and Jared Mitchell the batter for atumbois the Bulldocks try to break through first

(14:26):
in this one. Mitchell with twohits both singles and thirteen at bats RBIs.
He had no walks, one strikeout. The owner at the belt the
stretch and the pitch. There's acalled strike Mitchell Lit, a tall right

(14:50):
handed batter, intimidating there in thecleanup spot on strike delivery is swung on
and missed. The owners strike awayfrom working around the elite off single and
the top of the first eight andnine leading laying down the signs set up

(15:15):
on the outside corner. O twopitch tails away runner going throw to third
run of the glove of Tucker andthat allows Gravy to slide in with the
stolen base, going in feet first. It's a good throw by nine right
on the front of the bag,but Tucker just didn't squeeze that or maybe
hit off his palm. Gravy withthis sixth make the fifth stolen base of

(15:39):
the season. It was a swinginga miss on a pitch well outside the
dirt and I picks it up,throws down to first and records the out
officially, so the owner gets thestrike out. The runners stranded at third
after happening, a tomb one zeroaims coming up. This is a little
Cyclones baseball on Newstalk fourteen thirty ks. I s top of the first

(16:00):
four Timbo aim is coming to batin the bottom half of the first,
facing freshman right hander Tucker Long forthe Bulldogs, Aiden at Nie, Carter
Geoffrey, Austin Gabrielson will be thefirst three batters in the Little Cyclones line
up. Les we take a lookat the defensive alignment for visiting Bulldogs.
Dalton Dowd will be the catcher.Jared Mitchell is at first base, Case

(16:22):
and Palm at second, Matt Mitchellat third base. Carter Thompson is a
short stop, Raylan Griffiths in leftfield, Javin Rominger is in center,
and Tanner's shark over in right field. Ni leading off leads the Little Cyclones
and non base percentage at six sixtyseven. He and Geffrey lead the Little

(16:45):
Cyclones with nine walks apiece. Nihas also been hit by pitch eight times
already this season, and he takesstrike one from Long on a fastball out
and half of the plate. Ohone roller to the left side and it's
the shortstop. Carter Thompson up withit, good strong throw to first to

(17:06):
retire nigh one away in the gameshalf of the first, and Carter Geffrey
the batter. He like the pitcherhe's facing. Is committed to play baseball
at the University of Iowa. Longcommitted for the his freshman campaign even started
Geffrey committing as a junior in highschool prior to this year's campaign. As

(17:30):
well. A curveball from Long bendsover that started inside and then curled back
over the play. Geoffrey comes inleading Little Cyclones with a five batting average
and six ninety two slugging percentage wasnon based percentage of six forty nine.

(17:52):
And there's another good fastball from Longto get ahead in the count owned two
team high thirteen hits for Geffrey twentysix ft bats also redoubles one triple ground
or foul left field line TM sevenRBIs for Geffree, nine walks and seven

(18:15):
strikeouts on the on the ear otherO two that one's low on ball two
strikes to Carter Geffree batting for aimswith the base is empty one out in
the bottom of the first of azero zero ball game. From the wind

(18:37):
up, the righty Long delivers itssliced into right field for a hit.
Soft Liner that landed in the dirttook a bounce into the outfield where shark
bleckx hit and brings it home, brings back to the infield, not all
the way to the plate. Singlefour Aims, first hit of the game
for the Little Cyclones. As Geffreestands on first, Austin Gabrielson will be
the batter, comes in with atwo fifty seven average to ninety seven on

(19:04):
base percentage three forty three slugging percentage. Long from the stretch for the first
time, delivers and it's loaned away. Good backhand stop by Dowd. Gabrielson
with nine hits and thirty five atbats, including three doubles, three RBIs,
one walk, one hit by pitchand seven strikeouts one and oh from

(19:30):
long, sharp grounder back through thebox and into center field. Long.
I'm not sure if you tried toavoid it, or maybe we tried to
get to his legs in front ofit to knock it down, but it
got past him unscathed. Back toback singles for Aims with one down in
the first, moving Geffrey up tosecond, and it brings up Josh mortal

(19:52):
Is in the cleanup spot. Tonight, motal Senior to eighty six average,
got an non base percentage of threefifty five with a slugging percentage of three
ninety three. Got a chance toput Aims up first. Here's a drive
down the right field line, sharkover towards the line is gonna drop in

(20:14):
fair territory. Geffrey around third, and he led to the plate without a
throw. It's cut off by Mitchell, the first baseman, and an RBI
single for Josh Model gives Aims theearly lead by a tally of one nothing.
Also on the play, Gabrielson movesfrom first to third as Model collects
his sixth RBI of the season forsecond most on the squad, and with

(20:40):
runners on the corners. Here's BradenBielner, Fancy's pitch ram legally obligated to
inform you he can help his owncause here. It's just rules for baseball
announcers along its first delivery way outside. He gets pasted out to the backstop
and Gabrielson will score EA the leadwith the second run of the inning modal,

(21:02):
moving up to second as well.As that pitch was way outside,
doubt and no chance to corral thatone. He's had to cross over with
his mint to even try to getto that wild pitch brings home a second
run. It's two nothing aimes asharp grounder just outside the file line on
the third base side. One ball, one strike to be owner who has

(21:26):
five hits and thirty at bats officehits, our singles. He's got two
RBIs, seven walks, he's beenhit by a pitch twice, and he
has struck out six times. Theone one go fastball right down the heart
of the plate modal the runner atsecond getting a lead, second baseman palm

(21:51):
over towards the bag. The pitchfollowed off the end of the owner's bat.
There went off Dowd's glove as well. Count holds it a ball in
two strikes. Here's the one tooinside on her faces. Two balls and

(22:18):
two strikes down is Ames jumps outto the lead. Here little cyclones able
to cash in quickly to try andavoid that runner left on bass curse and
talking about with coach Deenhagen before thegame. Another grounder back up the middle,
off the mound, past the divingpalm into center field modle around third.
I'll try to score the throat ofthe plate on a hop against past
the catcher down down to second isBielder. He was heading down to second

(22:41):
already on that throw going all theway through, so no error on the
play. But Bielder will get anRBI with his single, bringing home Modle
to make it three nothing second onthe throw to the plate, and now
he'll give way to a courtesy runnergraph Lender taken over at second for the

(23:03):
games pitcher. They'll just went outin the games half of the first three
runs in for the Little Cyclones. The owner adds to his RBI total.
He's got three now on the season. Senior easton middle stat the batter,
right handed hitter with the runner andscoring position and delivery just a little bit

(23:29):
high, I think from long there. Middle stat three sixteen average, three
sixteen on base percentage, surprise surprizea three sixteen slugging percentage, one oh
slice to the right side, passa diving Mitchell at first base, and
this time Lender's gonna be held upright fielder. Shark got to that roller
pretty quickly and was it was shallowby the time he got to that one,

(23:52):
so prompted the stop sign from coachseen Hagan, holding Linder at third
on the single by middle stat.Five hits here in the first inning for
the Little Cyclones. To lead threenothing his body Hatfield at the plate,
chance to bring in another run.Takes high at field of junior two hundred

(24:19):
average, three thirty three on basepercentage four hundred slugging percentage, steps out
of the batter's box to get thesign from coaching Hagan down the third base
coaching box and then he checks withthe the index card that's attached to his
belt there to the code the signthrow over the first middle stat back didn't

(24:40):
then much of a lead, Itold him, maybe just trying to check
to see if a play was onthere for the little cyclones. Long back
to the set and the runner goesfrom first. The pitch is high,
throw the third diving back winder oheadof the tag from Matt Mitchell middle stat

(25:00):
will take second on the stolen base. Now two runners in scoring. Physician
frames the two and oz count tothe bat or Hatfield along from the wind
up now delivers. It's followed awayand out of play for strike to Hatfield

(25:27):
count of two and one to theleft handed batting first basement and he takes
a strike now in the middle. Some good movement on that fastball. Long
guests does have some good velocity. As you'd expect from a major college commit.
Now the two two runs a loanin and it's a full count to

(25:48):
hatfield with Carston Hansen on deck forthe Little Cyclones one away, runners on
second and third, aims in front. Three. Nothing is swinging them this
atfield can't connect first to strike outfor long second out of the games.
First, here's Carston Hanson. Youneed to start in right field, just

(26:15):
a second start on the season. He's played in five other games coming into
the night for it's swinging drives tothe bluff side on the ground. Thompson,
the shortstop to his right, loadsup and throws to first long way,
but gets handsome by his step toend the ending. But Aames scores
three in the first inning, leadinga Tumba three nothing after one. This
is Little Cyclones baseball at Newstalk fourteenthirty Kasi first for Aimes. Little Cyclones

(26:44):
lead a Tumwa three nothing as wehead to the second for five batter Tucker
Long followed by Bradley Griffiths and MattMitchell to start things off for Tumwa and
ending number two set the games defensefor you. Real quick didnt get a
chance to go all the way around. In the first inning, Aidan n

middle Staff the second basement, CharlSucker is at third, Austin Gabriel's in
the shortstop, Josh Mortle is inleft, Logan beer Key and center,
and Carston Hanson out in right field, long matting from the left side of
the plate. He awaits the firstpitch at the inning from Bill Nerney pulls

(27:26):
it to the right side on theground, picked up by Hatfield. The
pitcher tosses this to the excuming Hatfieldthe first basement, tossing to the picture
Bielder covering the bag. There onthe perfectly executed three one put out and
the second inning in a row thatthe fatter for a tem was its long
at the first pitch worked out betterfor doubt, as he got a hit

(27:49):
last inning. But it's time. It's a long bouncing out. Raylan Griffith's
batting now with the one out fora Tema, and he takes outside Griffiths
two hits and eleven at bats andhe taps out and foul. Both the

(28:10):
hits have gone for singles. Hehas one walk and five strikeouts, one
and one to Griffiths swings and missusBieldner. James speeds on him and got
Griffiths way out in front for striketwo nine. With the sign bi Oldner

(28:33):
ready to go, the pitch swungout and missed. He reached out and
got fooled on that one. Bielnersecond strike out of the game. Quickly
gets two outs in the second withaims up three nothing and Matt Mitchell be
the batter for a tumbwa Mitchell, iss sophomore, leaves the Bulldogs with a

(28:56):
four forty four average and leads anon base percentage of five hundred. He
jumps on the first pitch here sendsit back behind No Plate nine, giving
chase, but it hits the netabout halfway up, making it a dead
ball. Mitchell also coming in witha four to forty four slugging percentage on

(29:17):
the season. He has four hitsand nine at bats, but as yet
to record an RBI, one sacrifice, one hit by pitch, one strikeout
through four games this season. Strikeone pitch to Mitchell back over the net
not to play be on her achance for a one two three second He

(29:42):
allowed that leadoff single to doubt lasting. They got the next three batters.
He's trying to make it six ina row. He delivers in the dirt,
trying to get Mitchell to chase. One ball and two strikes the count.

(30:03):
Another one in the dirt, thisone also sliding nigh to the outside
of the right handed Batty Mitchell, and it was account to two balls and
two strikes. Biellner's two two justoff the outside corner, full count to
Mitchell with Japan Rominger on deck.Rominger, pardon me pay if fitch from

(30:33):
Bilner, It's called strike three atthe knees. A couple of strikeouts and
ending three in the game. Nowfor Bielner, and he enjoys a three

Two RBIs takes in the dirt forball too. Beer Key has walked,
walked at three times and struck outfive times to one from the freshman Righty
Long, and it's well outside.Ercky watches it go. It's three and

(32:08):

turns and tosses the bat away ashe heads down to first. The first
walk aloud by Long and brings Aidanand I up. He grounded out to

(32:32):
the shortstop Carter Thompson in the firstinning. Berkey, with a good lead,
draws the throwover and he dives back. One steal on one attempt for
Burkey this season. Runner goes thepitches a strike, throw down to second.

I tried to frame that, butno chance of getting that call.
We're just forty two minutes into thisone. We're almost through three and a

corner Bilner a strike away from athird straight one two three inning. There's
a line shot right center field that'llbe in for a hit, and we'll

(01:15:06):
his footing there as he retreated, but stayed with the ball, loves it
for the final out. Run aroundfirst does not advance, and after five

We're heading to the bottom of thesix and Brandon bi Olner to start things
off for the Little Cyclones eastern middlestat Moodie Hatfield to follow. Tucker Long
continues to throw four someone I wasa swinging of miss from Wheeler to open
up the six. The owner walkedin the third RBI single in the first

(01:15:51):
take strike two. Long, Ihave unofficially at eighty four pitches fifty three
strikes of both pitches a good jobof it's keeping that ball around the plate,
trusting the defense, racking up somestrikeouts as well for themselves. Curveball
that's founded foul. Bieldner was ableto hang in on that one. Seem

(01:16:13):
Long get a couple of strikeouts,at least on a curveball inside to right
handed batters. It seems to bebearing in on their hips, but then
dives over the played last second.Two. This one's poked down the right
field life fairball, just out ofreads for Jared Mitchell around first. Bielner,
He's gonna try for second. Sharkwith the thrown out in time,
a stand up two bagger for BrandonBielder to start off the game sixth.

(01:16:43):
Bielner's first extra bass hits. It'stwo bagger, seventh hit of the game
for the Little Cyclones, and theAimes pitcher will give way to Judge Simpson
as the courtesy runner. He standsat second. Simpson it's been getting a

(01:17:06):
lot of action as the courtesy runnersas a courtesy runner this season, also
as a team high seven stolen baseson nine attempts so far. He stands
at second when nobody out, aimsat three two, lead over at someone
in the bottom of the sixth andeaston middle stat trying to provide some insurance.

(01:17:30):
He digs in one for two asingle one to strike out along with
a look to second delivers to theplate. Curveball in there. That one
didn't start as far inside as someof the curves we've seen to these right
handed batters, but still some goodmovement and finished down the middle of the

(01:17:53):
plate. Oh one delivery. It'sa fastball in er a half or called
strike two long to the set palmthe second basement over to keep the runner
close. Curveball swung on a miss. His mental stat down on three pitches

(01:18:18):
and long records his ninth strikeout ofthe game. I want to see a
pinch hitter for body Hatfield as BobbyYouthy will come off the bench for the
Little Cyclones to bat in the seventhslot atfield. Its struck out twice,
both swinging against Long. Youthy asenior, batting one eighty two so far

(01:18:45):
this season, two eighty on basepercentage to twenty seven slugging percentage. Simpson
lead from second with one down inthe game six and one run. Little
Cyclones lead pitches in the sports passedout and rolls away far enough for Simpson
to advance the third on the wildpitch and the insurance run down ninety feet

(01:19:13):

Continues to work quickly as we getdeep into the game, going from
the wind up with the runner onthird and swung on and missed and youth
He is strikeout victim number ten forTucker Long. Two outs in the games
six and au Tumba head coach JohnYeager is coming out to the mound.

(01:20:01):
Long is at ninety three pitches, and as he's a freshman, the pitch
limit is lower. I think it'sninety pitches. Actually, like the upper
classman, he's allowed to finish offa batter if he gets to that number
ninety mark before completing that plate appearance. But by Rula, Long is gonna
have to come out here after anoutstanding outing or recording ten strikeouts. But

(01:20:25):
he's also on the ook for thelosses. Is a Bulldogs trail aims three
to two, with two down tothe bottom of the six and runner on
third. Four of the Little Cyclones. We'll step aside then introduce you to
the new Atumba pitcher next. Thisis Little Cyclones Baseball and News Talk fourteen

(01:20:46):
making a second appearance of the season, only a third of an ending under
his belt so far for the Bulldogs. He'll face Carston Hanson as Ames leads
a Tumwa three to two, bottomof the six. Little Cyclones have a
runner on third. That's Judd Simpsonfor to see a runner for the pitcher
Bielder. Anson steps in over twowith the ground out and a strikeout.

Dowd relays the signs to Evans thepitch grounded to the right side second basement.

Two balls and a strike, theowners wind up and the pitch in the

and his roller towards short Gabrielson chargesloves and rows low. It skips past

half field. It's gonna go allthe way back to the fence behind home
plate, backed up by Nie,throw it down to second is cut off
as Ramenger slides in second error ofthe game. Four of the Little Cyclones
puts Rominger on a second just ashort hop throw to the first baseman,

(01:24:06):
and the game tying run is atsecond with one out for the Bulldogs.
In the seventh batters case in Palm, it was over two a ground out
and a strikeout. The owner fromthe stretch now delivers a strike on the
outside corner with a fastball, theold one in the dirt night. With

(01:24:35):
a nice stop. Rominger holds itssecond palm right headed, batter deep in
the batter's bark box. Pardon mefairly close to the plate as well in
his stance, check swing a pitchjust off the outside corner, and he

(01:24:57):
did not go around. Count movesto two and one. The owner,
with a check of second and runnergoes. The pitch is lown away,
throw it down to third, isoff the mark into left field. Romeger,
back on his feet, will headto the plate and tie the game.

(01:25:18):
Steal of third and a throwing airsecond arrow the inning for the little
Cyclones brings Rameger home, and thisone is even at three apiece, or
will we charge to the catcher?Nie base is empty now for until my

and he with a nigh with alittle bit of a late reaction.
It couldn't find the ball because itdrops just on the edge of the grass
behind home plate near the backstop.Totally not an easy pop up for a
catcher to find there, so Heamswill have to get it done in the

(01:26:06):
seventh to claim victory. In thedouble header opener, here a curveball in
there called strike three. Calm downlooking for the second out of the top
of the seven, and here's Boltondown to bat with nobody on and two

(01:26:35):
down. First bitch swinging chops itover beyond there behind second base, knocked
down by middle stat on a slidingattempt, but the flex off his glove
into short center Berk there to backit up. Doubt reaches on the single
at number five for the Bulldogs, and the Shark steps in Curtacy runner at

(01:27:09):
first for the Bulldogs. There's asharp grounder towards the aims second baseman.
Middle stats scoops to second to getthe force there that ends the inning,
but a couple of errors lead toa tying run for a Tumba at the
top of the seventh after six anda half, all even at three.
This is Aimes high baseball on NewsTalk fourteen thirty k SI side of three

(01:27:30):
as we had at the bottom ofthe seventh, the Tumbo with an unearned
run in the top half of theframe to even things up at three aims
will try to walk it off herein the bottom of the seventh, number
nine batter Logan Burkey to start offthe inning eight and nine. Carter Geffrey
to follow Andrew Evans and his secondinning of relief came in for Tucker Long,

(01:27:57):
who reached to the pitch limit afterI and two thirds innings. He
allowed three runs all in the firststruck out ten batters, scattered seven hits
and walked two hit one batter Berkeywith a line out to the shortstop Thompson

(01:28:24):
last time up. That was inthe fourth. He walked back in the
second first pitch of the inning fromEvans, low four ball. This one's
hit straightaway center. Rominger drifting backand reaches up, can't make the catch.

(01:28:48):
It falls on the warning track anddiving in Burke leadoff double. Rominger
was tracking that one and reached upand might have gone off his glove leave
it dead as he tried to pullit in on that deep drive, but
just couldn't quite squeeze that glove aroundit. So Berkey on with a leadoff

(01:29:10):
double in the seventh. He's gonnarepresent the winning run with aidan Nie coming
to the plate and Ni the Aimescatcher batting in the leadoff slot in a
sacrifice situation. Here first baseman Mitchellreally coming in to guard against the butt.

(01:29:32):
It's fun of that miss. Throwit down to the second off the
mark. Berkey slides back in feetfirst, as shortstop Thompson had to come
all the way across the bag outof the second base side. I love
the throw one strike count to Aidand nine. I does not have a

(01:29:53):
sacrifice bunt yet this season. Mitchellis almost halfway to the bag at first,
it's in the air, dropped infront of Mitchell. From his knee
throws to first. It's off theglove of palm into short right. Here
comes beer Key to score the gamewinner and the Little Cyclones pull it out
in the bottom of the seventh gameswith a four three victory. Asked Mitchell

(01:30:15):
charging that bunt that was hit inthe air initially by nine bounced just in
front of Jared Mitchell. He wentto his knees to pick it up and
tried to throw from his knees palmcoming over from second to cover the first
base bag had to lunge at ittowards the second base side and it went
off his glove that allows beer Keyto score. Call it a bunch single

(01:30:36):
and an error on the game winningplay. Little Cyclones win it four to
three, and the unofficial line scoregames four runs on nine hits, three
errors, five left on bass atTumwa three runs on five hits, one
error, and five left on base. Time of the game one hour and

(01:30:57):
thirty two minutes. Little Cyclones improvedto three and eight the season A tum
one now two and three. We'llrecap this one next. It's the Little
Cyclones baseball a news Talk fourteen thirtyKSI. A heart stopping win for Ames
in the double header opener here againstthe Tumba four to three. Little Cyclones
win on a punch single one anerror in the bottom of the seventh to

(01:31:20):
bring home the winning run. Let'stake a look at our recap here.
Ames scored three in the first whenout single for Carter Geffrey. Then Gabrielson
followed with the single of his own, model drove in Geoffrey with a hit,
and the owner followed that up witha single. It's fourth straight to
base hits five straight actually, asmiddle stat followed that up with a hit,

(01:31:43):
didn't drive in a run after awhile, Pitch scored Modal for the
third run of the inning, butAmes got the three in the first,
put runners on and every inning butone after that, but didn't score again
until they needed to in the seventh. Meanwhile, Tumwa, after getting the
leadoff batter on in the first soeleven straight batters to go down by a

(01:32:09):
retired by Bradin Builder, but withtwo ounce in the fourth, Jared Mitchell
broke that up with a double. He moved up to third on Tucker Long's
single. Mitchell would score on thefront end of kind of the back end
really actually, as the runner fromfirst took off, and then once the
throw win through, Mitchell scampered forhome with a steal for the first run

(01:32:30):
of the game, and then Tombapulled off a double steal again with Purtasy
runner for Long there at at third, he would score after the runner from
first again took off and the throwwin through, So that led to the
two innings or two runs in thefourth inning, bore A Tumwa. The
Bulldogs tied it up with an underand run, and the seventh Javin Rominger

(01:32:51):
reached on an air a two baseerror stole third, which resulted in the
throwing error the catcher nigh and hewas able to score. Is that bitch
got away? But then Names gotan under and run of their own in
the seventh, with Logan Burkey leadingoff with a double the straight away center

(01:33:17):
all the way to the warning track, and then Ni, trying to bunt,
popped it up. Mitchell, thefirst baseman, was already about halfway
in charged it couldn't get it onthe fly, went down to a knee
to pick it up and throw, but from his knees the throw was off
the mark to first and that allowedber Key to score the game winning run

(01:33:40):
in the seventh frame and Names takesit four to three in the opener.
We've got game two of this doubleheadercoming up in about twenty twenty five minutes
or so, well, sending theJesse Kelly Show for the moment, then
bring it back before the start ofthis nightcap between Names and a Tumbwa.
