Ellen McGee will bat first for thevisiting Warrior season center field second baseman
Britton Heron batting second, betting thirdis the shortstop. Maria make that Mara
Yokiel, the designated player, isthe cleanup batter. Lily Rand she'll hit
for the flex player and ray fielderBeth Scott. Betting fifth Forwaukee is Talia

(01:21):

(01:41):
Second baseman Mea Vogel bats fourth, betting fifth, Katie Rieselman at third.
At first, it's Maya Geffrey Showbat six, starting pitcher Josie Tailand will
beat seventh Katie Kate and the catcherwill bat eighth, and running out the
games lineup is the left fielder NorahMorcan. We are ready for action as
Ella McGee set to dig in forWwaukee. Final huddle for the Little Cyclones.

(02:06):
As the infielders get together around therubber, outfielders meet in center field.
Everybody flares out to their positions andwe get set to get under way
in Game two between Aims and Waukee. Josie Thailand the pitcher, a right
hander, Ella McGee the batter tostart things off. The left hander pokes

(02:27):
one in the air in the endfield. There's short stop Ellie Lynch moving over
towards the bag grabs it for theouts. McGee probably not looking to hit
that one in the air. Shejust kind of reached out and poked at
it, but I think she wantedto get that one on the ground.
She ends up popping out one awayin the Waukee first. Briton Herron will
Be the batter, also hits fromthe left side, and the first pitch

(02:53):
from Thailand is in the dirt fora ball. Airon in Game one,
reached three times twice on singles, also walked. She flew out and popped
out as well. Shows pulls itback as the pitch is in there for
a strike. Thailand getting the starthere in the Nightcaps. She also started

(03:19):
Game one face just six batters anddid not record and out starts with six
runs in that first inning as wellpitch in the dirt for ball two.
Wake. He scored seven runs inthat first inning and never looked back with
the Waiams chipped away for a fewinnings. Milwaukee just kept adding and adding

(03:43):
and eventually won by eleven and sixinnings. There's a called strike on the
outside corner or even his account attwo and two, so I safe to
say Thailand is already off to abetter start in this one. After recording
the first out on the first batter. Now look at the takedown Hearing to

(04:05):
two, pitch just off the plate, full count to the Waukee second basement
and the pitch way outside, andHaaron tosses the bat away heads down to

(04:26):
first on the walk and it bringsup Mara Ya Kiel. You'll kill the
shortstop. Drove in four runs inthe opener, four hits and five trips
to the plate, putting a tworun single in the sixth that provided the
final margin of game. One runnergoes, the pitch is low, throw

(04:49):
to second is high, and Hearingslides in with the steel, Waukee wasting
no time putting the runners in theputting the runner in motion. Aaron in
scoring position with one out in thefirst Aims coached by Megan von Baron,

(05:14):
Andy Pals, the coach for WoakeeKiel taking a strike. It's one and
one, standing in the third basecoaching box. I'm out standing. He's
moving around a little bit, andanyway, that's a one on one count
to Yo Kiel and it's going onat miss in the dirt. Aaron on

(05:35):
the move still go to third, ball got away from the catcher, Kate
and I so Haaron stands on thirdwith one out, you'll kill looking to

(05:58):
get the Warriors on the board first, swings and follows it at the plate.
Yokiel from the right side, digsback in, taps the plate,
puts the bat on her shoulders. She awaits the delivery from Thailand now set,

(06:21):
and the pitch tap back to thepitcher actually up the third base line
a bit. No play for Thailandor anyone else. Aaron will come in
from third. Jokiel reaches on aninfield single. As that one hit so
slowly, just maybe not even athird of the way up the third base
line by the time anyone could getto it. It was Thailand who got
there first, but no chance fora play. Run scores on the infield

(06:44):
hit. Milwaukee is on the boardfirst and Lillie Rand the batter she also
drove in four in Game one forthe Warriors, takes outside ran with a
two run single in the first, two run ripple. In the second,
she also reached on a single andflew out twice, so she got the

(07:06):
four ribbies and the w As thepitcher takes a strike, Thailand floats one
across the outer half of the plateto make it one and one. Yokio
stands at first. She stole acouple bases in the opener that's outside and

(07:31):
the count to rand his two ballsin the strike. Thailand holds the ball
against her thigh as she leans in. Now delivers a tapper. Stabbed by
Thailand, she'll go to first toget the out there as Yokom moves out,
Yokio moves up to second. Agood reaction by Thailand kind to stretch

(07:54):
that arm across her body to asnag the chopper, but got the out
at first. Yokiel to second withWaukee already with a run here in the
first Talia Lavarado is the batter takesthe first pitch, skips across home plate

(08:16):
for ball one. Lavarado was thecatcher in Game one, walked a couple
of times, also flot to centeringthe put down a sacrifice bunt. He
strokes us line shot into left centerfield. That's gonna split the gap.
Yokio will come around and score fromsecond, going for two. Lavarado sliding

(08:37):
in with an RBI double. Yokilscores the second run of the inning for
wake here in the first and Lavaradowas catching once again. Here we'll be
removed for a courtesy runner. It'slike Abby Felt will be taking over at

(09:11):
second. Didn't play in game onceshe get her first action on the basse
pas here tonight, here's a maryonJacobson with two down, two runs in
four Wakee and the first and arunner on second. Jacobson the starting pitcher
here in game two. She wasa left fielder in game one and takes

(09:39):
a pitch actually hit her thought hitthe dirt and got the catcher, but
I actually got the hitter. Thereis Jacobson. We'll go to first on
the hit by pitch. Felt holdsits second and another courtesy runner. Here
is Jacobson as the pitcher. Itgives away to a courtesy runner. Coach

(10:09):
Pal's getting the scorecards straightened out withthe home played umpire. It'll be Ella
Daniel if I'm reading her number correctly. That standing at first. Felt the
Curties runner for the catcher at secondand the batter is Sam Shepherd getting the

(10:31):
start at first here and the nightcaptakes ball one. Shepherd held down the
first base back in game one,we reached on an arrow walk in a
single along with a ground out inthe opener and a chop her up the
third baseline that goes foul one ballone strike to Shepherd. Milwaukee had lost

(11:01):
their first three games of the season, swept shut out by the Way and
both ends of a double header atAnkeny to open their season Ankeny Centennial,
I should say Centennial top ten teamto start the season. Five eight pitches
outside for a ball to Shepherd, and then they late lost to Dallas Center
Grimes on the road last night fourto three. The final in that one.

(11:24):
According to the DCG Twitter account,it was a stolen base that brought
home the game winning run, followedby Shepherd back to the net two and
two. The count Aims opened uptheir season with a win over Crested on
Monday, lost both ends of adouble header to Urbandale Tuesday, both by

(11:46):
scores of four to three. Tapher back to the mound Thailand in front
of the pitching circle grabs it throwsthe first Starker's second assist at the inning,
but two run score for Waukee inthe top of the first aims coming
up in the bottom next, Thisis a little cyclone softball a News Talk
fourteen thirty KSI and the top ofthe first aims coming up here in the

(12:09):
bottom half of the inning with EllieLynch, Kaylee Mesker, and Ireland Bust
set to face right hander Marion Jacobsonin Jacobson a junior. I don't have
stats from this season, four Wakee, but I can't tell you that last
season. She appeared in ten games, starting one through twenty innings. Altogether,

(12:31):
finished the year with the record ofone to zero and in the ra
of three point five pony spatting averageof two seventy eight, allowing thirty twenty
four runs, only ten of thosewere earned. She walked eight batters and
struck out five. In twenty twentytwo, Lynch will started off rames in
the first and first pitch skips acrossher feet. Lynch started off Game one

(13:01):
with a single, later reached outa bunt and struck out one ball count
to the game shortstop and she chopsthis one out in front of home play,
but I actually deflected I think offwith leg before rolling out into fair

(13:24):
territory, so that'll be a foulball for strike one. Still a mostly
clear sky, the sun of coursesetting. It'll be behind from houses here
shortly pitch in the dirt to Lynchseventy two degrees at game time and a

(13:50):
gentle breeze, having some pretty stiffaugusts in the first game, but we're
about five to ten miles an hourso far. Early in this one flight
a center Magee started in now goingback, it's over her head and she'll
have to retrieve it near the fencearound second ledge racing for third, and
she's in with a triple, witha bit of an assist there from McGhee,

(14:13):
who took a step maybe two towardsthe infield initially and then had to
race backwards. Is that step ortwo that might have cost her a chance
to get it out and gives Aimsan opportunity to score as their leadoff batter
triples in the first Kaylee Mesker battingand takes in the dirt as Lavarado was

(14:39):
able to knock it down and Whinchholds it third to nothing Waukee leading Aimes
batting in the bottom of the firstmasker over two with a pair of strikeouts
and a walk in Game one, pitches high for ball too. Lavarado quickly
looked down to third Mescer Batch fromthe left side. Jacobson, the right

(15:09):
handed pitcher, pumps their arms acouple of times and delivers low in the
dirt. Throw it on the thirdoff the glove of a lucky It rolls
in a short left and a Lynchwill score. Without a play, there
will be an error on the Warriorsto allow the first aims that run to

(15:31):
score. Now it's a two toone score. Still nobody out bases empty
frames any three ball no strike countto Mescer and Jacobson's pitch in therefore a
strike to get me over fastball. Now three and one to the games right

(16:02):
fielder, and it's high ball four. Jacobson walks Messker, that'll bring Ireland
Bust to the plate. Let's centerfielder for the little Cyclones over three with
a strikeout and feel pop out ona bunt attempt and a flyout. Bust

(16:23):
still score a hit list, Ishould say on the season swinging a miss
as Bust took a big cut whenthe fastball and came up empty strike one
count bust stands. You know thefront of the batter's box now squares around

(16:52):
a bunt and follows it off athome plate. Runner I checked that maybe
did not follow it off but missed. That allows Mesker to scoot up to
second. Strike two on bus wouldgive Mescer a soule base without a play
runner and scoring position for aims withnobody out down a run in the first.

(17:18):
The O two delivery way outside agood snag by Lavarado. Mescer was
ready to go, but Lavarado preventedan advance a ball in two strikes to
count to bus. Here's the pitch, soft Liner towards the second baseman Heron.

(17:42):
He makes the catch, running tothe bag and tags it before Mesker
can get back for the double playthat empties the bases. Little cyclones missing
an opportunity there as Mesker took offon the crack of the bat but didn't
realize Heron was in range of thatLiner four unassisted on the double play.

(18:11):
Now me at Vogel, the battershe takes strike one. Vogel was the
designated player in Game one, onefor two with an RBI and a walk
in the opener takes the ball. It's just off the outside corner and one
and one open stands for Vogel, who waits the pitch check swing and it's

(18:42):
a rolled towards her in a secondbase underhand throw to the bag. It's
Shepherd at first and that ends theending games gets one. I can't add
to it. After one Aniwaukee leadstwo to one. This is a little
cyclone softball on News Talk fourteen thirtyk si K Milwaukee score two in the

(19:03):
first. Aimes got one back inthe bottom half of the inning. Now
the Warriors stepping back to the platefor the top of the second. Sophie
Gorrish Inzana as a lucky than EllaMcGee to face Josie Thailand eight nine and
one batters here for the Warriors.Gorrish, a left handed batter, didn't

(19:26):
play in Game one, and takesloan away ball one from Thailand. Gorrish,
a left handed batter, didn't recordany stats last season, and she

(19:47):
lifts one into right center moving overMesker won't be able to get to that
one as falls right between her andbus and the right center gap, and
it'll be a double four Gorrish secondextra base hit, second double in fact
for the Warriors, third hit ofthe game. Or stands on second and

(20:11):
Zena Zilecki stepping in Forwaukie, anotherleft handed batter. I mean swings and
misses at the first offering from Thailand. Zilecki two singles and two RBIs and

(20:33):
four trips to the plate in gameone slaps on to the right side Vogel
two or left grabs it throws quicklythe first to get the out. Meanwhile,
Gorsh moves up to third, oneaway and Milwaukee a second. Warriors
lead two to one and back tothe top of the order. Ellen McGee

(21:00):
when he popped out the shortstop Lynchon the first pitch of the game shows
butt pulls it back. It takesa strike relmen coming in from third and
Lynch, the shortstop moving over tocover the bag behind her tailand on the

(21:21):
rubber, delivers the old one. It's in the dirt and knocked down by
nigh. Here comes Gores trying toscore that throws too high as now,
I just try to desperation kind ofshovel with the bare hand towards the plate.
Gores slides in on the wild pitchto score and make it a three
to one Waukee lead. In theprocess completely covered the plate with dirt.

(21:47):
That's while the umpire brushes it.That off will remind you of the names.
High soft Ball is brought to youby C and K Heating and Cooling
seeing Kate installs, maintain services andrepairs a wide variety of residential heating and
cooling equipment called three one, zero, seventy four to stay cool this summer.
Here's a slap pop up behind secondbase, so off the glove of
Lynch and it falls in, allowingMcGee to reach Lynch and Vogel at second

(22:14):
both converging and looked like Lynch maybeheld up just at the last second to
avoid a collision and the ball wentoff the edge of her glove and drops.
Well, thank you, Nate,Nate bus on the assist. They
called the batter out. She wasout of the batter's box when she made
contact. There so no worries forthe little cyclones on that play. That's

(22:37):
the second out of the inning.Brandharon the batter and she takes strike one.
We've seen them a couple of unusualcalls. Tonight we saw runners.
A runner called out for Waukee inGame one on an interference call as Aaron
takes strike two and Thailand looking forone more strike to get out of the

(23:00):
inning and hold the Warriors to asingle run in the second there it's called
strike three as Thailand records her firstk of the game. Waukee adds one
in the second. After one anda half, Warriors lead the Little Cyclones
three one. This is Ames highsoftball on News Talk fourteen thirty k s
I. It's three one Wake leadinga games as the Little Cyclones coming back

(23:26):
in the bottom of the second inning, Katie Rieselman, Maya Geffrey, Josie
Thailand the batters to face Marion Jacobsonfive, six and seven. The batters
in the games lineup do up hereafter Aames scored an unearned run in the
first and now trailing by two tostart the second inning. First bitch from

(23:48):
Jacobson is low four ball Reeselman ina game one doubled to drive in a
run along with a flyout and alineout. Lineout was sharply hit the third,
but it's like he was able tostab it one. Oh, that's
one sharply hit, passed the lackeyon the ground into left field. Second

(24:11):
hit of the game for the LittleCyclones and the second ending in a row
that the leadoff batter has reached framesbrings up Maya Geoffrey, and Geffrey reached
out an error, lined out tocenter and grounded out. The third in

(24:34):
the earlier contest, takes one high. It was off the glove of Lavarado
and back to the backstop. Reeselmanto second easily. It was a high
one. Lavarado tried to pop outand grab it, but it glanced off
the top of her Mit and Reselmandown to second. One ball, no

(25:00):
strikes too Maya Geffrey and she waitsback fouls off the pitch. Jacobson brought
the change of speeds there very nicely, but Geffrey good recognition, stayed back
on it. Just got a piece. One ball, one strike, the

(25:26):
count to the games first baseman slipsout of Jacobson's hand all the way to
the backstop and sliding in Reeselm intothird. That one escaped Jacobson's grip and
went high in the air all theway to the backstop. Second wild pitch

(25:48):
of this plate appearance two and one. The count to Geffrey and she drives
it hard down the left field line, but foul Reeselman with a little two
step to avoid getting hit by thatscreamer just inside, just outside, I
should say the third base bag,Esleman, gesturing towards Kaffrey Lake. What
did I do? Come on,We're on the same team here. Two

(26:11):
and two account Jacobson's pitch. Thisone's lifted towards left race Again, gorsh
has to reach up to make thegrab, almost overran it. Meanwhile,
Reeslman holds a third too much formomentum for gors there middle medium left field

(26:33):
to risk trying to score. Itwill be the first out of the Aims
second, and it brings up JosieThailand with Aames trailing three to one,
and Jacobson's first pitch tour change upthe drops in four strike one. Thailand

(27:06):
didn't bat in Game one. Startingpitcher then moved to second base in the
first inning, and she smacks onedeep into left racing over go goorish,
We'll get to it. It's allthe way to the fence. Run will
score from third as Reeslman comes acrossan RBI double for Josie Thailand and names
narrows the lead back to a onerun margin. It's three to two.

(27:29):
Wakee. It's Thailand records her firstdouble and second RBI of the season.
Still one out, tying run nowand second frames in the second we'll have
a courtesy runner for the games.Pitcher Ali Fransen stand on second as Kate

(27:52):
Nye steps in Nigh, a righthanded batter and an eighth grader. It's
two hardly one official at bat onthe season, and she has struck out

(28:22):
in that appearance. Turns to buttand pushed the foul. They're based side
behind home plate. Franceson will haveto retreat to second. One strike account

(28:45):
Nig looking down to Ames coach makingvon barn for the signs, steps back
in open stance and she awaits thedelivery from Jacobson. It's high snagged by
Lavarado. One ball, one strike, Countess. Franson remains on second.

(29:14):
The one one hit in the airtowards left. Goorish, measuring it up,
gets onto it makes the catch.Franson stands on second but does not
try to advance. Second put outfor Goreish two way in the second inning,
games trailing Walkie three to two,as Norah Morkan steps in more Can,

(29:38):
a sophomore, didn't play in Gameone. Two hits in at nine
at bats so far this season, steps out of the batter's box and Jameson
steps off the rubber. Both ofMorkan's hits went for singles. He has

(29:59):
come love RBIs to her credit line, shot through on the left side and
it gets past the center fielder.Franson will score with ease and markin.
We'll head into second scart an Arbisingle and an error. McGee tried to
backhand that ball, but at abounced off for glove on the hop.

(30:21):
Franson scores to tie the game atthree and get a meeting in the pitching
circle here for Waukee. As AndyPalace comes out, he's gonna take the
ball and we're gonna see a pitchingchange here, So we'll step aside with
this game even at three. We'rein the second inning and Heames batting with
two down. This is a littlecyclone softball on new Stock fourteen thirty KSI.

(30:48):
Alison Lair is the new pitcher forWaukee, and she'll take over for
Maaron Jacobson with two outs in thebottom of the second games and scored twice
in the inning to even the scorewith Waukee at three, and Little Cyclones

(31:10):
have a runner at second and NoraMork and Ellie Lynch stepping up to the
plate following the RBI single by moreCan. She moved up to second on
an error charged unofficially by myself toMcGee and center swinging a miss by a
Lynch on the first offering from Lair. Lynch let off with a triple in

(31:34):
the first scored on an error.Laric right hander leans back now delivers a
strike and some groans from the Aamesfaithful there that was on the low end.
We'll say, oh win two toLynch with two down and Lair with

(32:01):
the delivery. It's filed away.Layer pitch twenty one times for Wwaukee last
season, made seventeen starts oh twopitch outside. Finished with a record of

(32:25):
ten and seven at four point ninefive ERA and ninety three and a third
innings pitched. It's batting average oftwo seventy nine. Here's a soft liner
towards the second baseman hearing up withit on a hop and throws the first
to retire at this side. ButAmes scores twice in the second. After
two Little Cyclones tied with Waukee atthree. This is a little cyclone softball

(32:50):
on News Talk fourteen thirty k SI. Ames Inwaukee head to the third inning
tied at three. Mara Jokiel,Willie Randa and at Talia Lavarado the batters
for Waukee. In the third tworuns for the Warriors in the first,
one in the second game. Scoredone in the first and two in the

(33:13):
second to even things up. JosieThailand thirty four pitches thrown to the first
two innings and brings inside to Yokiel. You drove in the first run of
the game with a single in thefirst games. Will players straight away around

(33:37):
the infield and outfield with the righthander in the batter's box, and she
takes a strike that catches the outsidecorner, a ball and a strike to
Yokiel. Thailand's pitch rolled softly towardsVogel at second right to her in fact,

(34:01):
and she picks that one up withthe ease, throws the first to
record the out, and as LilyRand steps into the Warriors Will shout out
to Gilbert and Rolling Story, bothwinning state championships at in girls golf today,

(34:22):
Gilbert taking them the three a title, Rolling Story the two way winner
and the pitch is high to Rand. In addition, Gilbert got the individual
medalist Eden Lorbach winning the individual statetitle in three a one ball, no

(34:43):
strikes to Rand and the dirt couldscoop by nigh Rand with a comeback or
to Thailand in the first and ataper off the playton. Then it hit

(35:04):
off RAN's back there after the bouncefor a foul ball one and if that
two and one, Ran the winningpitcher in game one, asked for time
out and steps out fifteen four Warriorsin six innings in the opener to one,

(35:30):
delivery is low. Few Williams fansmight have thought that was a strike.
Last half inning three and one account, Thailand steps back on the rubber
with the one away nobody on forWaukee. There's a roller towards the shortstop.
Lynch to her left knocks it downbut can't glove it cleanly, and

(35:53):
that will allow Ran to reach Lynchlike she got to that one and just
didn't squeeze it as she tried toscoop it up with her glove, and
unofficially we'll get out. In mybook, is the third error of the
game for the Little Cyclones and oneout base runner for Waukee. Here in
the third with the game tied atthree, should say first error of the

(36:17):
game on aims Waukee with two errorsearlier. First pitch to Lavarado was in
the dirt. Throw down to first, not quite in time to get Ranch.
She took a few steps towards secondthere with that pitch in the dirt,
and the knives throw almost got her. She was able to dive back
out a hand in there just beforethe tag from Geffrey. One ball,

(36:38):
no strikes for or two. Lavaradohas a changeup. This is inside random.
Bear in mind, didn't run ingame one, she was the pitcher,
so she goes removed for a courtesyrunner each time she reached. Well.
She did plenty of damage, drivingin four runs in that game.

(37:00):
Too old Lavarado tap foul behind homeplate, strike one count. She checks
on the signs, digs in standingin the front of the batter's box.

(37:24):
Two and one delivery from tiling upand away and a good Snagni came down
with that one and rand was dancingoff first again. Go throw this time
his account t Lavarado goes to threeballs in the strike and here's a chopper

(37:46):
deep in the hole a short backhattedby Lynch, long throw in time Elliot
Lynch makes the fine play there.I had to kind of stab at that
one is It took a maybe afunky little hop there at the last second,
but a good strong throw from thehole atge short to get the out.
Two outs in the inning. Randitmoving up to second on the play,

(38:12):
and now the pitcher, Alison Lair, stepping up for the first time
in the game, takes outside. She'll bat here in the sixth spot in
the Waukee lineup, previously held byMarion Jacobson, the starting pitcher who was

(38:32):
hit by a pitch in the first. Thailand delivers high to layer to make
a two and zero. Games inWwaukee tied at three, were in the
third where he was with a runneron second with two down and the pitch
chopped off home plate and into fallowterritory. Lair, a junior, takes

(39:09):
a called strike on the outside corner. Lair served as the designated player in
game one. Two singles. I'llpop out in a walk one RBI.
She faces a two ball, twostrike count. Thailand delivers It's fall back
is Lair waited and waited, justgot a piece of it account remains two

(39:42):
and two. Thailand's pitch grounded towardsLynch at short. She gloves it cleanly,
throws him plenty of time to getthe out and Waukee does not score
in the third. After two anda half, the Warriors and Little Cyclones
tied at three. This is aimesizesoftball, a new stock fourteen thirty KSI

(40:06):
three all between games in Waukee.Little Cyclones coming to bat in the bottom
of the third, and it'll bethe two three and four batters in the
games line up. Kaylee Masker,Ireland bust mea Vogel thinking on Alison Lair,
who came in in relief last inningafter the starter Marion Jacobson went one
and two thirds innings. She startswith all three aims runs, gave up

(40:30):
four hits, one walk, anddid not record a strikeout. Massacre,
left handed batter, walked in thefirst inning and steps in to face Lair
for the first time. Takes astrike. It's a good fastball from there

(40:52):
over the outer half of the plate. Here's the one and it's sliced off
foul. Past the games dugout noballs and two strikes to Masker to start

(41:17):
off the games third, it's ona set. Lights are on illuminating the
diamond O two from lair called strikethree. Slight delay in the call there
from the own plate umpire, butMescer can only return it to the dugout

(41:37):
one way in the bottom of thethird games High Softball is brought to you
by Northwest Bank, committed to providingthe best community banking services and products,
located at one hundred South sixteenth threeto names commitment, you can bank on
one away base is empty. Yeah, Ireland bus steps to the plate,

(42:00):
falls off the first pitch from layerbus line into a double play. In
the first inning, Brent Herron caughtthe liner the second basement, moving towards
the bag and just kept going totag the bag and get the base runner
at second to complete the twin killing. On one pitch the bus outside ball

Lillie Rand, the batter with oneout and a runnerund for Waukee,
and she takes high. Rand groundedto Resalman at third. Last time up

(01:27:17):
at the fourth inning, reached onan air in the third and grounded to
Thailand. The pitcher in the firstinning change up drops in for strike one.
Good late drop on that pitch, ball and a strike to Rand,

(01:27:42):
left handed batter facing the righty Thailand. Another changeup, that's another strike.
Rand started her bat just a littlebit. The pitch was in the zone
and it's one and two and blownaway. Rand didn't chase nigh, shifting

(01:28:13):
to her left to grab that ball. Yo Kiel returns to first. Two
balls, two strikes the count toLily Rand. Another change up. This
one's rolled past the picture, butVogel is able to pick it up and
get the force at second high throwto first. As Rand races for second,

(01:28:34):
slides in ahead of the return throw, and Rand ends up on second.
Yo Kiel is forced at second,Rand taking advantage of a Name's error
to move up. It will bea fielder's choice on the play as well.

(01:29:04):
Two down run around second for theWarriors. Tall yet Lavarado, the
batter with the Woaukee in front sixto five in the sixth, Larado flop
to left field or last time uptakes outside. I came in the fourth,

(01:29:28):
You grounded to lynch and shortstop inthe third and recorded an RBI double.
In the first inning, One Ohoin the air, center field,
straight away bus under it makes thecatch that ends the inning. Waukee scoreless
in the six after five and ahalf, Aims trailing by a score of

(01:29:51):
six to five. This is alittle cyclone softball on Newstalk fourteen thirty k
SI names got to Waukee pure AlisonLair finally in the fifth after she had
retired the first seven batters she facedin relief, a couple of errors behind

(01:30:12):
her not helping out, leading toa pair of Little Cyclones runs. So
both those runs and the fifth wereunearned by my unofficial tally. It's a
six to five Waukee lead. LAAwill try to protect his aims comes about
in the sixth me have Vogel,Katie Rieselman, my Geffrey, the batters

(01:30:34):
four, five, and six,and the aims that line up. Vogel
has grounded out to the second basemanheron twice, coming in both the first
and third innings. Six runs forWaukee on six hits, three errors,

(01:30:57):
eight left on base, aimes fiveruns, five hits, four errors and
one runner left on base that camein the second inning. First bitch show
the inning from lair called a strikeiss. She pours out on over the
outer third of the plate again centerstepper two towards left, shading in the

(01:31:21):
right handed Vogel, Yeah, shetakes strike two. They're working ahead quickly,
trying to protect the one run lead. The pitch grounded to the right
side through Shepherd at first into right. Throw will be late and Vogel will

(01:31:45):
reach on an air. Fourth errorForwaukee. Unofficially step ball was right at
Shepherd reached down, tried to grabit but missed, and the ball in
right field. Lead off runner onfor Ames and then a pinch runner Ali

(01:32:08):
Fransen will step in for Vogel. At first she represents the tying run for
the Little Cyclones. Katie Reeselman willtry to advance her Reeselman one for two
ground out to the lucky a thirdin the fourth inning. A single in
the second was the leadoff batter inboth of those innings. She gets the

(01:32:33):
verbal signal from games coach Megan vonBaron. Now steps into the batter's box,
right hander facing the right handed pitchinglayer, and she squares around a
bun, pulls it back, takesa strike runner going. The throw is
a good one, but the tagwas not applied France and slid around it

(01:32:56):
and is into second with a stolenbase. Jokiel was shortstop covering and handled
that nicely on a shortstop trying tomake a sweeping tag, but Franson swept
to the outside of the bag toavoid it and is in with the steel
one strike count to Reeselman as atightening run is now in scoring position and

(01:33:19):
the pitch outside someone was tempted didn'tpull the trigger, and it's one ball,
one strike, count one and oneto count their deliverers and slifted foul

(01:33:41):
behind home plate out of play.La Varado gave it a look, tossing
awayre headgear. Count goes to aball and two strikes to Reeselman. Franson
on second after the steal. Nowthe pitch and a file off Reeselman's ankle

(01:34:05):
and she goes down in the hurryafter that one stung. She's back up
on her feet after a couple ofseconds on her knees, and that one
probably off the bone there down aroundthe ankle. Shit ry. She's gonna

(01:34:25):
walk that one off for a bitof the third base line and maybe a
little conversation swapping a laugh there withFrancon, who came over from the second
base to check on her teammate.France will head back to the bag and
Reeselman will reset and she's gonna joga little bit up the line there,

(01:34:47):
just make sure she's feeling okay andlooking like she's good to go practice swing
before she steps back in and stillball and two strikes to the games third
basement takes low ball too to apiece on the count. Nobody out in

(01:35:14):
the games six Little Cyclones trailing Walkiesix five, but eames with a runner
on second. Pitch from Alison Lairis hitting high in the air, foul
territory and that's out of play onthe first base side. It remains two
and two. Seventh pitch of thisplate appearance coming up here and it's high.

(01:35:46):
Lair misses upstairs. Full count toReeselman with Maya Geffrey on deck.
Potentially very big pitch here coming fromLair to Reeselman late in this close game,
pay off delivery in the air rightcenter. Scott, the right fielder

(01:36:10):
moving over and moving in, makesthe catch towards the endfield got the ball
in quickly as Franson holds its secondbig out there for Waukee to retire Reeselman
without the runner. Advancing one outin the bottom of the six, Maya
Geoffrey to the plate. Jeffrey struckout in the fourth flew to left in

(01:36:36):
the second inning, and some freshsoftballs here for the home plane. Umpire
is ready to go. Jeffrey stepsin. Franson still at second and the
pitch from Layer strike felt high toGeffrey. One strike count. Well,

(01:37:08):
there's next delivery outside. Quick snareby the catcher Lavarado and looked a second.
It's France and ready and probably eagerto advance if she gets a chance.
One and one to Geffrey. Slicesthat follow down the right field line,
solid to contact, but often tofollow territory, and it's a one

(01:37:34):
two count to the game's first basementlayer delivers. It's high Lavarado coming out
of her stance to grab it.The count goes to two and two.
Aims down and run. They've gota runner on second with one doubt.

(01:37:59):
One out. In the sixth upstairsagain and another full count, this time
to Geoffrey with one away. Theregot the out on the last batter with

(01:38:21):
the count full, trying to dothe same here as Geoffrey pay off,
pitch bouts to the right side anda diving stopped by a herod frances is
gonna try to score anyway to throwthe plate tag is missed and Franson ties
it up with the speed. Fransonable to raise home and then slide to

(01:38:45):
avoid the tag by Lavarado and eventhe game at six. With one out
in the sixth inning, Geoffrey withthe single and the sixth of the game
for aims. Here comes which palsout of the Waukee dug out to conference
with his infield. Actually, Ithink that's one of the assistant coaches there

(01:39:08):
for Waukee handling. This one nowtied at six ams as a run around
first with the one out in thesixth as the daring base running by Franson
pays off. She was able tosteal second by avoiding a tag that second
out of throw that looked like herhad had her beat. That throw to
the plate was a pretty good onetoo, but you just slid to the

(01:39:30):
outside of the plate. Was ableto get hand out to tag the tag
the base and score the tying run. Now it's Thailand rounded back to the
pitcher layer and the fourth doubled innerrun in the second but not mind a

(01:39:53):
repeat of that. Lara remains inthe game and deliver as a strike the
lavarado and you're jumping out to snagthat pitch. One strike to Thailand went
away runner on first frames in thesixth pitch low and Lara was trying to

(01:40:17):
throw the change up there and lostthe grip just a little bit. A
ball on a strike to Thailand inthe air on the endfield retreating hair in
the second basement makes the guts dropsit on the edge of the grass.
We'll get it out anyway at secondbecause Geffrey was holding about a third of

(01:40:40):
the way down the line, whichwas the right thing to do, but
then Aaron just lost sight of thatball or something that's slipped away from her.
And get the out anyway. Twoouts in the inning on we'll go
down as a fielder's choice instead ofa pop out. Now Thailand at first,

(01:41:01):
with the game tide and Kate Niethe batter. She takes strike one
simular spot to the strike to thelast batter, Nie one for two singled
last inning to start that two runrally for Rames aout the left and the

(01:41:23):
second inning, strokes a single straightup the middle and it's bobbled by McGee.
Thailand's gonna try if the third slidesin safely and behind the play and
I will go into second. Tooka big turn, doesn't draw the throw,
but another error on Jakie after thesingle, McGee bobbled that ball in
center, and that's a difference toa loud Thailand to move up to third.

(01:41:45):
She was ready to hold it second, almost came to a complete stop
when she saw McGee bobble that balland then hit the jets and race to
third, beating the throw there. And now Ames has two runners in scoring
position with two outs, and NorahMork in the batter with the game tied

(01:42:06):
at six. First pitch swinging tapsat right side, gets past the first
baseman, shepherd over to grabbit heroinand she throws on the first to get
the out and that ends the ending. Games leaves two in running position,
but they score one in the sixand tie the game six apiece with Wwaukee
after six endings of play. Thisis Little Cyclone Softball on new Stock fourteen

(01:42:28):
thirty kasi. The Games ties itwith a run in the six. Now
we go to the seventh Waukie andthe Little Cyclones tied six runs apiece.
Josie Tawlin back on the rubber foraims. She's on the distance and she
can prevent Waukee from scoring and givethe Little Cycles a chance to walk it

(01:42:51):
off. In the seventh first up, though, gotta deal with Alison Layer,
Sam Shephard and Sophie Gorish in thetop half of the seven layers batted
twice and grounded out twice. Wantsto vogel a second and wants to Lynch

(01:43:13):
at third. So what's I'm awhole new ball game here? With this
one tide at six going into thelast ending of regulation, followed by Layer
back to the net, Aimes trailedsix three after Walkie scored four, scored
three in the fourth inning, Amesgot five, Okay. Ames got two

(01:43:36):
in the fifth and one in thesixth to even it out. A one
pitch to layer swing on and missedlike the bottom dropped out on that one
just as Lair was cutting on itand the count zone two. Land only

(01:44:01):
has one strikeout so far. Thatone's way off the mark. It goes
over nigh back to the backstop. One ball, two strikes. He's a

(01:44:24):
chopper towards the third basement. ResalMan handles that one easily end throws him
plenty of time across to Geoffrey atfirst with that one away in the top
of the seventh of a tie game. Here's Sam Shepherd, first baseman for
the Warriors, one for three witha single and a run scored. He's

(01:44:45):
also grownded out twice. First pitchruns away on Thailand outside right handed bat

(01:45:05):
or right handed pitcher Penlan leans anddelivers followed by Shepherd, had a good
cut on it, but angled fouloff the bat and one and one change

(01:45:28):
up in there for strike two. That one, it's just about how you
would draw one up. Started tolook like a high pitch and then dropped
in right at the knees. Here'sthe one too. It's follow up the
first baseline by a foot or so. Geffrey did a good job to get

(01:45:55):
down and smother that ball, butit had just crossed into foul territory before
she gloved it. The count remainsone and two to Shepherd, one out,
top of the seventh Ames Inwaukee, tied at six. Flight ball center
field, bus hit a couple ofsteps, sits the brakes and puts it

(01:46:16):
away. Two down and with thebases empty. Sophie gorsh the batter.
He's got a double, a flyoutand a walk in this one. Left

(01:46:41):
handed batter stands in waits for thefirst pitch from Thailand and pulls it up
the first base line. It's offthe glove of Geffrey. It rolls away,
but it's ruled foul. Home Plateon Fire said it was a foul
ball and it was very close upthe line there at least I thought he
said. I thought he signaled foul. He's pointed into foul territory. After

(01:47:02):
that ball went off Geffrey's glove, and coach Ivon Baron for Ames coming out
to talk with the home plate umpire, who made that what I thought was
a really good pointed the same wayhe did on a previous foul ball.
So I assume that was a fallas well. And now let's coach von

(01:47:23):
Barn's turned to ask for an umpireconference and the field umpire, we'll get
together with the home plate umpire andtalk this one over. I can't tell
you for certain by any means whetherthat was fair or foul. They're gonna
say it is a fair ball.I just know it wasn't wasn't a real

(01:47:47):
clear signal from the umpire. SoGorris stands out first with two down and
the game tied at six. Ontop of the seventh with Xana Zleski is

(01:48:10):
a leaky the batter, pardon me, pitches a ball, all throw it
down. The first gets away fromGeoffrey a little high from nigh and went
off Guffrey's Geoffrey's mit down there andGorsh will head down to second on the
air, and here comes coach vonBaron again out of the Ames dugout.
She's gonna get her infield together andperhaps to try to calm things down a

(01:48:36):
little bit, coach questioning the fairball call moment ago. Now a high
throw from nigh leading to the WhatI have unofficially is the fifth air of
the game for the Little Cyclones, and it puts the go ahead and run

(01:48:58):
in scoring position for Lucky with twoouts in the seventh one ball count to
Zena Zilecki. Zilucki has growded out, reached out an error, and walked,
and she takes a strike running upup on the pitch as she does,

(01:49:19):
but change up catching the outside cornerone and one. Thailand's pitch a
fastball a little low. It's atwo and one count pitch high as the

(01:49:51):
change up slipped a little bit onThailand, three and one, two Zilucky
with Ellen McGee at the top ofyour order to do up next for Waukee
two down runner on second in asix six ball game. At the top
of the seventh pitch from Thailand,it's called a strike. It's a letter

(01:50:15):
high. Two is the link toas a Lucky pardon me, and it's
a full count with two down andthe runner on second. Here's the payoff
pitch. Tap back to the pitcherThailand thrower first is in time. That
ends the inning. Wwaukee strms therunner They've left nine on base. We

(01:50:41):
head to the bottom of the seventhwith the game tied at six. This
is Little Cyclone Softball on News Talkfourteen thirty KSI I'm a mounte here at
the game size softball Diamond. LittleCyclones are tied with Wwaukee at six as
we head to the bottom of theseventh and it's the top of the order.

(01:51:01):
Two up for Rames Ellie Lynch,Kaylee Mesker Ireland Buss to face Alison
Lair, who came on with twoouts in the second inning as a relief
pitcher and shut down Ames for thenext couple of innings. But Little Cyclones
got two across in the fifth addedanother in the sixth, tying this game

(01:51:23):
up after walk He had taken thelead with three runs in the fourth,
so now Ames looking to record awalk off victory and split this doubleheader with
the Warriors. First pitch to Lynchis high wintry shot. An error in

(01:51:45):
the fifth We're rounded out in thesecond, tripled in the first one zero,
and it's sharply hit passed the divingheron at second. The lead off
single for Ellie Lynch here in theseventh. Now Kaylee Mesker to the plate,

(01:52:15):
and let's see if Ames put toplay on here Mesker for two of
the walk RBI ground out in thefifth taking hide, didn't show bunt.
There's the ball fluttered upstairs. Lynchholding at first. Winch stole a base

(01:52:45):
in the earlier game. He's gotfour on the season. One oh,
showing bunt, pulling back runner goingthrow down to second. The tag is
not in time. Lynch down tosecond with the stolen base, short hop
throw from the lavarado. Yokiel dida good job to snag it and try
to apply the tag, but Lynchslides in safely with the steel names has

(01:53:13):
the game winning run in scoring positionone and one, and the pitch bunted
back towards the pitcher. Layer infront of the pitching circle grabs it,
throws the first and it's handled nicelythere by I believe it's harrying. Yeah.
The second baseman came over and handleda short hop throw just went down
to her knees and got the glovedown on and grabbed it. Might have

(01:53:34):
bobbled in her glove there a littlebit too, but she secured that ball
with her foot on the bag beforeMesker got there. Nonetheless, a sacrifice
is successful in getting the run tothird with one out. Now Joaukee will
hold a meeting at the pitching rubber. A sacrifice bunt from Mesker, and

(01:54:02):
let's give a bunch of credit toheron a second base was probably, you
know, not terribly accustomed to handlingthose throws, especially on the short hop
there. And not only the infieldof getting in on this discussion here for
Wwaukee, the outfielders come in aswell. This coach Palace goes over the

(01:54:23):
game plan with them, aims witha little mini meeting of their own down
the third base line, Coach vonBaron and Coach Lynch coming over talking with
Ellie Lynch, the runner at third, the batter Ireland Bus, and the
on deck hitter mea Vogel runner onthird and one out. Bottom of the

(01:54:43):
seventh Ames in Waukee tied at six. Here's bus. It was struck out
twice and lined into a double play. Hit lists on the season infield in
for Waukee. Outfield will play inas well, and the pitch from Lair
a bun and it's followed at theplate safety squeeze. Their lynch didn't break

(01:55:05):
until contact was made. One strikecount to Bus. Lair delivers swung on,
driven back through the middle for thegame winning hit. Lynch across the

(01:55:26):
score and Aames walks it off sevensix the final Overwaukee, first hit of
the season for Ireland. Bus couldnot have come at a better time for
the Little Cyclones. It's a gamewinner as the Little Cyclones now improved the
two and three on the season andWaukie now one and four on the young

(01:55:51):
campaign. Un Official line score gamesseven runs, nine hits, five airs
four lapped on Baswaukee six runs, seven hits, five and nine left up
based time of the game two hoursand seven minutes. We'll have the postgame
recap next. This is Little CycloneSoftball a News Talk fourteen thirty KSI.

(01:56:14):
It was a case split the doubleheader between two ranked teams here tonight in
Aimes a seven to six walk offwin for Aames in Game two Game one
win to the Warriors fifteen to fourand six innings recap. The second game
here is Waukee got the first leadof the game. Briton Herron drew leadoff
walk, stole second, moved tothird on a wild pitch, and scored

(01:56:39):
on Mara Yokiel's single. She wouldscore a couple of batters later on Talia
Lavarado's double and an early two runlead for Waukee. Games got one back
in the first. Lynch tripled EllieLynch tripling to lead off the inning and
then would score on an error.Aames Tritain would not score again in the
inning. Waukie got another run inthe second. Sophie Greish, with a

(01:57:00):
leadoff double, moved up to thirdon a ground out, and then came
in on a wild pitch to makeit three one. Warriors aims were tied
in the second. Katie Reeslman letoff with a single, moved to second
on a wild pitch, an investon another wild pitch. The third came

(01:57:23):
home on Josie Thailand's two bagger. Then Thayland herself would score on Nora Morkan's
single, tied the game at three. Huck He recaptured the lead in the
fourth as Sam Shepherd left off letoff with a single, eventually came around
to score on a double by BrynHerron that actually drove in two run so

(01:57:46):
Lecky also coming in after she reachedon an error, and Ella McGee also
scoring later that inning on an errorby the Little Cyclones, and it was
a six three lead four of theWarriors after four innings. Ames got two
in the fifth to tighten it up. Kate and I reached on a single

(01:58:09):
and advanced a second on a groundout to third on an error that allowed
Ellie Rynch Lynch to reach base andactually as a result of that air,
Lynch ended up all the way overto third base and she would score on
a ground out by Kaylee Mesker tomake it a one run game. Aimes
tied it in the sixth. MiaVogel reached on an error bat or later

(01:58:32):
after stealing second, she would scoreon a single by Maya Geffrey and I
tied the game. Ames held Lwaukeescoreless in the top of the seventh and
the bottom half. Ellie Lynch letoff of a single, stole second,
moved a third on a sacrifice buntby Kylee Mesker, then scored on a
single by Ireland Bus straight up themiddle to record the game winning run.

(01:58:59):
Aimes starting pitcher Josie Tyland goes todistance for the win, allowing six runs,
striking out two, scattered seven hitsand walked four. Marion Jacobson with
the first one and two thirds inningsfor Waki, faced nine batters, allowed
three runs, no strikeouts, fourhits allowed, one walk. Alison Lair

(01:59:21):
took over, went four and twothirds, ended up giving up four runs
despite a good start tour night JamesRiley back and Lair ends up taking the
loss. Despite striking out four, she gave a five hits, didn't walk
any batters. As we are joinednow by games second coach Megan von Baron,

(01:59:45):
coach, that was a heck ofa bounce back there in game two.
As your team, what was straightup after I mean, what was
Keith coming off the disappointing whiles I'msure in six innings in game one,
but not a for the team asa whole, but for Thailand in particular
after that rough start in Game one, coming back and getting to winning game
too. Yeah, Josie did awesome. We're very very proud of her for

(02:00:08):
how she battled back after that firstinning or two and was able to come
into that second game and just kindof have a duover basically. But you
know, that first game was uglyand we never liked to see that many
runs, so we just had todig deep. And I'm really proud of
the team for the way that weturned around and came back in that second

(02:00:29):
game and just fought all game long. So we talked. You know,
in the pregame, you mentioned thatyou had opportunities the other night against Urbandale
and didn't quite come through, andyeah, maybe you got some help from
the defense there in Urbandale, butit looked like, you know, at
the very least of nothing else, you put that ball in, playing game
yourself a chance. Yeah, tonightthe second game, we did a much
better job of just being more consistentwith our hits, and man, the
eighth graders had some clutch hits andyeah, Ireland, it was nice to

(02:00:54):
see her to get that hit,and yeah, it was fun. So
you ever seen that many discussions betweenumpires? Yeah, it was a lot.
That's a lot of How wow, that's a late night, Yeah,
along two games, announcer trying tofill that time, it's not easy.
Yeah, I bet there was onepoint there. I think it was the
sixth seventh inning actually, and therewas one of those discussions and you know,

(02:01:16):
two outs and gave up a baserunner and you had to get everybody
together there and and get everybody inthe same paide. I mean, what
was the message to the team.Yeah, I mean we had two outs,
so that runner at second it didn'tmatter, and that's what we just
said, you know, work thebatter and let's get the last out and
get out of here, and we'llget up to bat and let's finish it.
So, um, you know,Josie did a great job with her
composure and I think everyone did better. Now, we had too many errors

(02:01:39):
and that's something that we definitely haveto work on and it's not very characteristic
of us. So I don't knowwhat what that's about, to be honest,
but I think that, you know, the more games we play,
they'll get more comfortable and and settlein. So now, yeah, a
few days off, you're so tospeak, what you're playing here, the
holiday coming up, graduation coming up. Then returning that, Yeah, we're
gonna take the well, take theweekend off and just come back Monday night

(02:02:01):
and practice and we'll have a coupleof days of practice and then we'll get
playing again. So all right, coach, we'll best of luck down at
the boy Northeck. Thank you, appreciate you making Baron head coach of the
Games High Softball squad. Joining ushere on the postgame show, Little Cyclones
with the win in the nightcap sevensix to split the doubleheader with Waukee Warriors
